Remaking "X-Men" (2000)
Tumblr media
Over a year and a half ago, I made a two-part post remaking 6 X-Men movies based on the direction Fox had for them, but I thought I'd plot out an alternate universe where I say what direction the films go in. And to note: this isn't like "X-Men: The Animated Series" where I'm gonna be 100% faithful to the source material. It's moreso giving me standards and parameters for how to do this. And to avoid confusion, let's say the cast is the same for all the characters (though I could do a fancast on another post). Disclaimer: despite XM being my favorite comic property, I'm NOT an expert on them in and out, with my first intro to them being Fox, "X-Men: Evolution," and "Wolverine and the X-Men." And my ideas/characters may be too much for a 90-minute film, so there's that. But I tried to tone it down to 3 main points.
Tumblr media
The Xavier institutes' inhabitants include Professor X, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, Beast, Iceman, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Angel, Havoc, Banshee, Colossus, Dazzler (sometimes), Shadowcat, Jubilee, Sunfire (sometimes), and the New Mutants, which consist of Cannonball, Karma, Mirage, Magik, Sunspot, Wolfsbane, Cypher, and Magma). However, only the first 8 names listed get the spotlight in this film, along with Rogue, who is the main character and is taken up by the Brotherhood after the prologue, which I actually really loved from the Fox movie. Everyone gets individual costumes here rather than uniforms (if they have any). The key idea here is family, highlighting how the O5 and Professor X are the closest with each other, as well as how Storm, Nightcrawler, and Wolverine, despite being newer, have come to feel like family as well. Those 3's stories are highlighted the most, though Scott's concern about being the next leader, along with his relationship with Alex and Jean's And to note: since the actors for the O5 are different ages, they couldn't have formed a team with professor X when they were teens; they were simply all found by him at the same time, roughly a few years ago, and have thus have mostly been training and never had the opportunity to be into the fray. This contrasts with some of the other mutants, who have had to develop their powers on their own.
Tumblr media
2. The Brotherhood of Mutants here is led by Magneto (who Rogue grows attached to as a father figure given her own relationship with her dad; doing a romantic storyline feels to weird to do in live-action with Anna and Ian's age gaps; she later creates a father-like bond with Logan when she joins the X-Men), and the main roster includes Polaris, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Mystique, Sabertooth, Toad, Pyro, Destiny, and Mastermind. Rogue is easily taken in by Magneto's ideals and goals, though she is eventually disillusioned by the less noble mutants who simply want to dominate and destroy, as well as how Magneto's trauma has had a generational effect on his children, particularly Pietro, who feel used and abused by him (counting Polaris as one of his kids even if it wasn't confirmed in 2000). The idea of family is a central theme here as well, only the Brotherhood represents a fractured and toxic family, making Rogue realizes that Destiny and Mystique don't aren't as caring as she had hoped they were.
Tumblr media
3. God Loves, Man Kills is the storyline here. If you recall, that was pretty much the inspo for X2, but I feel like it's good to hit the ground running with an adapted arc here. However, they don't change Stryker to a military scientist; the complexities of religion and ideology are explored here, and is particularly poignant for Magneto as a Jewish man and Nightcrawler as a devout Catholic. It'd also be a nice parallel to have the realization that Mystique is Nightcrawler's biological mother, and how he handles this is eye-opening for Rogue, since her time with the Brotherhood has mainly been about anger and pain fueling them, while Kurt is guarded by forgiveness and love. As usual, it's a triad of perspectives: the tolerant and peaceful approach of the X-Men, the defensive and superior attitude of the Brotherhood, and the fear and hateful attitude of the humans (at least the antagonists, anyway).
Lemme know what you think! I know it's not much, but I tried to be concise. I think the next film would focus on Mr. Sinister (NGL, as a film, I'd skip over the "Inferno" saga and probably give Scott and Madelyne's relationship to Jean and Scott since their story is too early to deal with that--plus I wanna put Emma in the mix later, and that would feel redundant if I included Madelyne), setting up an emotional break for Jean that makes her the Phoenix, removing the Phoenix Force concept, and eventually doing a storyline that combines elements of "Gifted" and "Lifedeath"--though that could change based on how I feel.

5 Non-MCU Characters I'd love to see in Deadpool & Wolverine
Tumblr media
Superbowl Sunday saw the return of everyones favorite Merc with a Mouth Deadpool in the trailer for his upcoming new movie Deadpool & Wolverine.
And as usual, Marvel hooked me.
Some fans have seen it as a return to form for the MCU, others as business as usual for Ryan Reynolds, and some just couldn't get over the little bit of Wolverine we got.
Tumblr media
Myself, I was mainly focused on one thing. Aaron Stanford.
Tumblr media
For those not in the know, this clip from the trailer shows Aaron Stanford returning as minor villain and asshole Pyro from the original X-Men Films. He was a sidekick to Magneto, and has a rivalry with Iceman in those movies.
Tumblr media
The return of Pyro from the X-Men films confirms what most fans expected: we will see old heroes and villains from the Fox era, not just Wolverine.
And while a few have been already revealed through casting news or set photos, there are plenty more in store for us, I'm sure.
This got my head gears turning, so I decided I'd look back on the old Fox films to see who I want to return, even for the briefest moment or cameo.
None of these have been confirmed officially, so you are spoiler free from here on out. But I must warn, once I put this ideas in your head, you may be mad if they don't show up.
5. Animated Deadpool Voiced by Donald Glover
Tumblr media
*sigh* The project I wish existed.
In 2017, Donald Glover was in development and given the green light on an animated Deadpool show. The show was to premiere on FX in 2018. However, for unknown reasons it was cancelled, and never debuted, leaving fans and Donald Glover displeased.
Tumblr media
After the success of films like Spider-Verse, and Glovers involvement with Marvel, having him come in for a scene where he fights with or against Ryan Reynolds Deadpool could be a fun nod to the fans and maybe give the project the boost it needs to somehow come back.
But alas, I'm still hoping Spider-Verse will bring back Spectacular Spider-Man, so what do I know?
Tumblr media
4. X-23
Tumblr media
If there is a character ripe for a spin-off from the old X-Men universe, it was definitely X-23.
It's surprising to me she hasn't been revealed as a main member of the cast. She's a character I think few people talk about anymore, but was a crucial part of the film. I'd say Logan is up there and one of the best superhero movies.
Dafne Keen and Hugh Jackman made Logan such an impactful moving film. I'd love to see where the character has gone since Logan, and see how them reuniting effects the film.
Tumblr media
Not to mention if she fought Deadpool, it would be one hell of a good (and kind of funny ) fight.
3. Apocalypse
Tumblr media
Do I like this character? Absolutely not.
Do I want him here just for the Moon Knight jokes? Yes.
I actually think theres a good Apocalypse in Oscar Isaac somewhere. Having Deadpool and Wolverine at one point face the X-Men's Thanos sounds pretty cool, and Isaac is a great comedic and dramatic performer who deserves another shot.
I wouldn't mind a CGI version that looks more comic accurate, like Beast in the Marvels.
Tumblr media
But again. I really just want Deadpool to say "So are you Steven or Marc?"
2. The Human Torch
Tumblr media
Similarly, I want the Captain America jokes.
But if there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that Human Torch was by far the best part of those Fantastic Four movies.
There's just so many things you can do with it!
We can have him in the frosted tips, in a new Fantastic Four uniform. Maybe even have him fight Pyro, stop a fire guy with a fire guy. Or have him come out from behind a train like Captain America in Infinity War, but it's Johnny.
Tumblr media
Having Evans play across Reynolds even for a bit would make so many fans happy and get more cheers then No Way Home.
Besides Evans has done a cameo in a Shawn Levy film starring Ryan Reynolds once. He can do it again.
Tumblr media
1. Legion
Tumblr media
The rumored main villain of this film tends to have a very particular vendetta with Charles Xavier. So why not use his son to acquire power?
Legion is the acclaimed show from Noah Hawley starring Dan Stevens as David Haller, a mutant with schizophrenia and basically unlimited power.
Tumblr media
Dan Stevens is incredible in this show, and I think bringing in such a powerful X-Men character would make for some fun interactions and extreme stakes. Not to mention the insane visuals, all while delving deep into the psyche of both are protagonists.
While I doubt all of these characters show up, if one or two do, I'd be extremely happy. We'll just have to wait and see.
Tumblr media
Thank you so much for reading! Please consider following, and check out my socials and other sites here! And let me know: Who do you want to see in Deadpool and Wolverine?

Random ass Deadpool 3 predictions I'm making because I can and have nothing better to do with my time
Deadpool initially encounters Wolverine in that wasteland place from Loki, surrounded by a bunch of 20th Century Fox crap
Related to the above, Wolverine will have been pruned because he's not supposed to get a comics accurate suit
Taylor Swift will appear as Dazzler in a very brief cameo
There will be references made to how Gambit constantly failed to happen.
Deadpool will reference the Disney-Fox buyout.
There will be a scene of Deadpool talking about all the MCU characters he can't wait to meet.
The film will be a pseudo-adaptation of House of M, taking broad strokes from the story, mainly Magneto ruling the world. However, instead of Scarlet Witch, Cassandra Nova will be responsible for his rise. This also won't be the result of reality warping.
The "main" universe of the film will be a world in which either Cassandra Nova was born in place of Xavier, or a world where they were both born but Cassandra joined up with Magneto.
Deadpool will bitch at some point about Wolverine hogging too much attention.
Deadpool will be disappointed that he's not meeting Spider-Man

It’s very telling where the MCU is in terms of quality when MoM is literally months away from coming out and yet people care more about the cameos rather than the actual plot (not to mention completely ignoring the light-washing/de-aging of America Chavez, an Afro-Latina lesbian woman and the whitewashing of Wanda’s Romani/Jewish heritage that has been going on since AoU)
Not to mention how everything that fans have praised about NWH is things from the old Spider-Man films. Hell, even with Thor 4, there’s more talk about Valkyrie’s sexuality and her “finding her queen” rather than anything about the main antagonist or plot.
And don’t even get me started on the disaster that was the Loki series and how supposed loyal fans can watch Loki be tortured and humiliated and call it “therapy” while they go and worship a female variant of him that’s about as interesting as watching paint dry.
The MCU only cares about putting out as much content as possible just to make a fast buck. It’s honestly sad considering how in Phases 1 and 2 they seemed to care about the characters and making each movie have a unique feel to it. Now everything feels the same, everyone acts the same and there’s no sense of individuality or creativity anymore.
I fully believe that Age of Ultron was the beginning of the end for the MCU, cause that’s honestly where things started to go really wrong in my eyes.
People focus more on Wanda in MoM then they do Strange.....and its his film. Like, I still ain't a huge fan of Doctor Strange's first film, cause whitewashing seems to LOVE this particular set of stand alone MCU films, but like.....no discussion of Strange or Wong or ANY Doctor Strange characters and elements, just Wanda and the cameos and its just....dam, kinda feel bad for Strange Stans right now. MCU be like with ANY character of color at this rate.....mainly oddly the woman of color from comics: "Can we get a whiter version please?" Like, shout out still to the Funko of Miss America for....actually making it worser. Dunno how, BUT THEY DID. And we all know why they suddenly mixing up the Young Avengers ages....given Young Avengers had members who are gay and in Loki's case, genderfluid, but well, MCU won't allow rep to full be seen so already betting we won't even see lesbian Miss America....
And with Wanda, its like......thanks, you failed in casting 101 as she is white as fuck in MCU, has the power to lose her accent and isn't Jewish cause no Magneto means no Jewish twins I guess.....no wonder she's appearing in MoM, she fits right in with whitewashed Ancient One and lightwashed!Miss America. No Way Home's entire hype was literally the old villains coming back. Like, people screamed more at the pumpkin bomb being thrown in trailer followed by Doctor Octopus' appearing with, "Hello, Peter", then the rest of the trailer, and if that ain't obvious that No Way Home was hyped soley on the cameos, then the aftermath of people soley focusing on Andrew's Peter and Tobey's Peter is obvious enough. Given MCU cut Valkyrie's Bi scene....I am VERRY skeptical off chances we'll see Valkyrie romance Jane, but....I'll wait until trailer I guess, but yeah....looking at any hype on Love And Thunder, its just kinda Jane's return and Valkyrie finding a queen....but in all honestly, given the Guardians are also taking over a plot in this film, I dunno what I'd prefer to be hyped at this point.
I hate Loki Show....so much. Like, keep in mind, up until that point, I'd been hopeful for it and TFATWS, cause even from trailer I knew I wouldn't like W/V, and first trailer for Loki? Yes, but watching the actual show? It was suffering. It wasn't about Loki like promised to fans, it was about him being basically secondary to Sylvie's journey and suddenly he's in love with her and while she can just, do whatever she wants without much happening, Loki get's literally tortured as a form of therapy.....and people ship Loki with the guy who did it.....thanks, I hate it. And don't get me started on Sylvie. She's literally an OC, a mashup of the two Enchantresses and....Lady Loki, cause genderfluid Loki was toooooo hard I guess, and she's just impossible to watch cause MCU makes her into a girlboss.....while also sprinkling in some incest/selfcest, but better not go too far....or stans will call me biphobic again for hating their ship.
Yeah, nowadays mcu is kinda just interested in cramming whatever movie or show they can really. Phase One-Two at least seemed to think over the films and such, but nowadays its like, "WANT A HAWKEYE SHOW?! WANT A SHE HULK SHOW?! WANT A CHRISTMAS AND HALLOWEEN SPECIAL?!" like.....its just there until MCU is basically beyond dead....well, more beyond dead then it is already.

Welcome To My Blog
Hi, I am FourAligments and again welcome to my blog. I mainly focus on Dadneto, Peter Maximoff, and Star Trek.
What is Dadneto?
Dadneto is the relationship between Erik Lehnsherr and Peter Maximoff and by extension Wanda, Nina, and Lorna Dane. Which gained massive popularity after X-Men: Days of Future Past , where Michael Fassbender’s Erik Lehnsherr and Evan Peters’s Peter Maximoff had a interesting conversion in the Pentagon Breakout scene. Peter was a breakout character in DOFP with his Time in Bottle sequence with its Steller use of superspeed.  Hinting at the possibility of Peter reeving that he is in fact Magneto’s son in later installments. However, that storyline never came to be, so fandom writers took upon themselves to fill that void.

Dark Phoenix: The Fall of X-men
I have a love-hate relationship with the X-Men franchise, some being 5/5 and considered my favourite superhero films and others being disappointing and dull. Dark Phoenix unfortunately falling in the latter. Unlike Avengers Endgame, another Marvel creation burdened with the task of wrapping up a popular superhero franchise, Dark Phoenix fell flat in most areas which made Endgame so enjoyable for the fans. It's easy to compare the two films with Dark Phoenix coming out less than two months after the record-breaking triumph that was Endgame. But even without the large Endgame shadow it has to follow, Dark Phoenix remains to be an underwhelming finale.
Tumblr media
This is what I wrote in my journal immediatly after watching the film for the first time,"It was okay just not very exciting" and I think this perfectly encompasses my feelings on it. Was it the worst film iv'e ever seen? Definately not. But would i watch it again? Unlikely. One of the main problems was characters. To start, the main and most well-known character in the franchise Wolverine, didn't appear at all in the film which was very dissapointing considering he had been in every other film. Although, maybe Hugh Jackman missed a train wreck there (Haha get it train wreck ;) ). His presence in the film would yes make little sense because of the timeline,(but did the timeline REALLY ever make sense) but it would make the film feel more like an Endgame level finish. One last hurrah of all the characters we know and love fighting together for the last time. But, it wasn't just Wolverine left out of the film but my personal favourite Quicksilver AKA Peter Maximoff. In the prevoius two films, Peter was a great source of comedy which helped lighten the sometimes serious films but Dark Phoinex lacked this and wasn't funny. At all. Like i don't think I laughed once (except Jennifer Lawrence saying x-Women but we will get to that later). All the charm and iconic speed scenes of Peter were missed and the only times I even THOUGHT about laughing in the film were the brief two minutes he was in. Even Mystique whose character in this film wasn't what i would like was missed in the film as she was a recognisable charcter and one who we had seen from the start.
Tumblr media
This left only the most boring and underdeveloped charcters left: Jean Grey and Scott Summers. They left the main role in the film to two boring loved up teenagers who I didn't care one bit about. That may sound harsh but there were very few moments i cared about any of the characters espcially Scott. He is annoying in all of the films to be honest, but especially in Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix. All he did wast be obsessed with Jean thats all he did.Furthmore, Professor X’s personality and overwhelming need to be in power was extremely annoying and frustrating because after seeing his loveable character in first class turn until THIS. Ugh. I knows he is meant to be presented as more as a villain, but he way he is portrayed I, saw an uncaring and completely different character. Also, Magneto, one of my favourite characters, was ruined yet again. The development Eric had in Forst Class and DOFP was brilliant but it was ruined once more. This happens when they use the same storyline of him being the bad guy then joining the good guys for the third act the reluctantly leaving again was repeated again and again and again and still was boring in Dark Phoenix.
Although this post mainly has focused on characters I would like to reiterate that other aspects of the film were done poorly too; the pacing was as painful painfully slow, the deaths seemed unnecessary and done for shock value and it was just plain boring. It also failed at trying to i very be progressive just came off as cringe and uncool when Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) said they should call the team x-wome. As a young women and proud feminist myself, this acne made me laugh. It was so obviously trying to be woke when there was no need to be in this moment. Yes superhero films especially need more and better female representation, but there are so many others ways to do this.In conclusion,I wish I had more good things to say about this film but unfortunately I don’t. It was very disappointing and made a future for x-men even more unlikely.
-I hope you enjoyed my first blog post! Sorry if it’s not great yet I’m still figuring this out and trying to refine my style but it was fun so I’m going to keep trying :)-

A list of fandoms I'm in (in no particular order, will probably be updated regularly. Some fandoms are more intense and some are more casual. Depending on the fandom, I could go on and on about fandom topics for HOURS. Let's get into it!)
Harry Potter, Disney, Marvel, DC comics, Miraculous Ladybug, Avatar: The Last Airbender/The Legend of Korra, Star Wars, Literature, Winx Club, Nintendo, Minecraft, Little Witch Academia, Voltron, Coraline
Details:
Harry Potter- I got into Harry Potter in 7th grade and now I am the resident expert in my family and in my friend group. I read all the books, watched all the movies (notably the British version), and I've seen the Fantastic Beasts films as well. I've also read Tales of Beedle the Bard (the Warlock's Hairy Heart was traumatizing) along with the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them textbook (plus an updated edition). I also read The Cursed Child script and while I mean no hate to anyone that liked it, I hated what it did to the canon. I am in Hufflepuff with some Ravenclaw tendencies (I took the Pottermore quiz 3 times, 2 out of 3 I got Hufflepuff, the other time was Ravenclaw). I had a pottermore account and I was so upset when it got converted to the Wizarding World page. I cosplayed Hermione in 7th grade complete with British accent and even monologued as her for a talent show (classmates and teachers would recognize me as the Hermione girl all the way through high school). I was obsessed and I still love it even if J.K. Rowling has gone off the deep end on Twitter... yeah... my favorite character is Hermione but I also relate to Luna
Disney- there's so much that goes into the Disney part of my fandom list. I'm excluding Marvel and Star Wars from this part as they were originally separate entities before Disney got the rights to them. I have seen almost every animated Disney film ever and often use random movie quotes in conversation. My favorite villain is Maleficent, my favorite princess is Ariel (followed by Belle, Rapunzel, and Anna). I relate to so many of the characters. I'm not sure who my favorite Pixar character is though (I love Violet, Sadness, Dory, and Piper (from the short)). My favorite Disney fairy is Fawn. My favorite characters overall are Ariel and Stitch. Disney is definitely on the list as one of my biggest obsessions. My favorite movies are Lilo and Stitch, the Little Mermaid, Inside Out, Alice in Wonderland (original), and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
Marvel- I mostly get my Marvel exposure through the MCU, other movies, and animated TV shows. I have difficulty reading graphic novels so most of my comic book knowledge comes from friends, posts, or wikis. My favorite characters are Spider-Man, Captain America, Peggy Carter, and Scarlet Witch. I also like Gwenpool, Deadpool, Spider-Gwen/ Ghost-Spider, Venom, Squirrel Girl, Daredevil, Mantis, Gamora, Black Widow, Iron Man, Thor, Loki, Bucky, Black Panther, and most MCU characters. Out of the X-men I really like Professor X, Wolverine, Mystique, Magneto, Nightcrawler, and Quicksilver (either version- MCU or Fox).
DC- this was the franchise I was more familiar with growing up but again, graphic novels aren't easy for me to read so most of my knowledge comes from information pages about the comics or from tv/movies. My earliest experience with DC came from the 60s Batman series, with Catwoman and Robin being my favorites. I also watched the Wonder Woman series from the 70s and a handful of CW shows, my favorite of which being the Flash and Arrow. I also managed to watch all 5 seasons of the Teen Titans Cartoon Network series from 2003. With that being said, my favorite characters are Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Flash, Batman, Nightwing/Robin (Dick Grayson), Green Arrow, Starfire, Raven, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Alfred. I also like most of the bat family, and when it comes to CW I LOVE Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost and Cisco.
Miraculous- this is one of my guilty fandoms but since this is Tumblr I'm not too worried about it. I love Marinette and I relate to her on an astoundingly deep level (minus the stalking and obsession with potential lovers, that's creepy). If I had a miraculous, I'd probably want the Ladybug one, but the Cat miraculous, fox miraculous, and snake miraculous are good too. My favorite character is Marinette/Ladybug.
Atla/Tlok- I jumped on the avatar bandwagon just when it was starting to get popular, so I managed to get through the series before the memes took over everything. Same with Tlok, although i couldn't completely avoid the spoilers for that when i started it. I've been wanting to get into the comics because of the short story comics I've read, they seem easier to read than superhero comics. My favorite characters are Aang, Katara, Ty Lee, Iroh, Korra, Jinora, Asami, Suki, Appa, Momo, Naga, and Pabu. I also like Sokka, Mai, Zuko, Lin, Kuvira, Varrick, Zhu Lee, and Azula. I feel really sorry for her and while I understand that a redemption arc would undermine the importance of her corruption arc, I still wish she could have one. I would love to be a waterbender or an airbender... maybe a waterbender raised in the air nation? Obviously, being the avatar itself would be awesome. The show has taught me a lot of great lessons and put a lot of stuff into perspective for me.
Star Wars- oh boy, talking about this one is dangerous. I've seen firsthand the horrors of the Star Wars fandom but then again no one will probably see this anyway so... I've seen all the movies and I remember watching the clone wars series with my brother when I was younger but we fell wayyy behind and it's taking us forever to get back into it. I've also seen the Mandalorian and quite enjoyed it. I like the prequels unironically, in fact, the prequels are some of my favorite movies. I especially like how they switched from lightsabers being heavy weapons to light weapons that can be used for all kinds of tricks that make for epic battles like the ones we see in Revenge of the Sith. The sequels were fun to watch but when I would analyze them along side their predecessors, I came to the conclusion that, for me, they were good to watch but did not do anything good for the rest of the franchise. My favorite characters are prequels/clone wars Obi Wan and Anakin, Padme, Ashoka, Leia, R2D2, BB-8, R4-P17, the Mandalorian (Din Djarin), and Grogu. If I had a lightsaber I'd want it to be blue, but when I was little I got a purple one like Mace Windu because it was closer to pink and I was into pink at the time. I still have that lightsaber and none of my friends have a purple one so it's one of my flexes. I feel like I wouldn't make a good jedi because of attachments being forbidden, so I'd probably become a grey jedi.
Literature- this is a broad term I use to cover all the random books and stories I liked reading and have studied. So we have Shakespeare (Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo and Juliet), The Great Gatsby (bored while reading, loved to analyze), Grendel (HATED reading, loved to analyze, Grendel really needed a hug and a friend), The Crucible, Fahrenheit 451, Dark Life (+ the sequel Riptide, both are by Kat Falls good reads, sci-fi and kind of dystopian), The Once and Future King
Winx Club- I think the show is trashy but I still love watching it. I haven't been able to get through season 6 though and I hated what they did with season 8 and Fate: the Winx Saga. My favorite character is Bloom along with Stella and Flora. I prefer rai to nick. My favorite transformations are magic winx, enchantix, and harmonix. My favorite member of the Trix is Icy followed by Darcy. My favorite Pixies are Chatta and Lockette.
Nintendo- mainly Pokémon above all else, followed by Animal Crossing. I have also played (mostly as player 2 or just never beat or watched my brother play) mario games, legend of zelda, pikmin, and kirby. Games I haven't played but I just liked the characters/the lore and probably learned about through Super Smash Bros. are Fire Emblem (Lucina mostly), Metroid (Samus and baby metroid), and Kid Icarus. Pokémon is where I'm most knowledgeable but you'll most likely beat me in battle. I am however great at MarioKart and I always destroy my friends at it. Terrible at fighting games though.
Minecraft- I like playing this casually. Sure, I'll play for hours and hours on end for months, but I prefer to stay exclusively in peaceful when playing Survival mode and I don't make anything too ambitious in Creative mode. I like to write, so sometimes I'll make a rough layout of the settings of my stories in different worlds. I prefer interior design and decorating when building, and when in survival mode I focus more on mining and gathering while my brother works on ambitious building projects. I just bring him the raw materials and furnish the interior when he finishes the outside.
Little Witch Academia- this takes up a smaller portion of my fandom list because there were only 2 seasons and a couple movies and I watched the whole series years ago, but I still enjoy it. At one point I wanted to cosplay Akko, and I loved the nod at Twilight through the Nightfall series. And I especially liked the twist that Shiny Chariot was Ursula, which I suspected for some time. The blend between magic and technology was fun to see, but I was so sad that the series ended RIGHT when Akko finally showed signs of magic proficiency. Also, Shiny Chariot being the reason Akko couldn't do magic was heartbreaking.
Voltron- this takes up a much smaller portion of my fandom list mainly because I haven't even finished it. I know hardly anything about Transformers aside from the Bumblebee movie so to me I just watch it for fun. It reminds me of power rangers, star wars, and star trek, and then there's just a transformer insert. But I don't know anything about Transformers so maybe the show is more rooted in canon than I think.
Coraline- I am in a love-hate relationship with Coraline. I have watched the movie several times, I've read the book, I've watched hours of theories and analyses on youtube, I've watched behind the scenes videos by Laika, and I even wrote a script for a fan film parody. I am amazed at how original the story is and how impressive the stop motion animation is but I also have recurring nightmares from it and it scares me/creeps me out to the max. If anyone asks what my scariness limit is, it's definitely Coraline.

I guess all the movies? I haven't watched them in so long. The only reason I saw them in the first place was that my dad liked watching them.
Well maybe give them a shot on your own! You might find you like them when you can interpret them through your own experiences.
It’s admittedly been a while since I’ve seen these films myself, but these are my general takes on each one I’ve seen.
Tumblr media
X-Men: Solid superhero movie. Great use of your Hugh Jackman.  Kind of a shame they didn’t allow the characters to have their more colorful costumes, but this was the early 2000s and the closest thing to a blockbuster superhero movie to come out recently was the Matrix. Black leather all around. 7/10
Tumblr media
X-Men 2: X-Men United: Genuinely a great film, best one of the original trilogy.  Mystic and Magneto are sassy bitches and a I love them. Obvious LGBTQ+ allegory is obvious, but that’s the point.  Superheroes aren’t good because they’re subtle. Also, probably some of the best action sequences in the franchise.  I really wish we got more Nightcrawler. 8/10
Tumblr media
X-Men 3: The Last Stand: I don’t hate it as much as others do, but that’s because I’ve never read an X-Men comic.  It’s still a mess.  Even Kelsey Grammer as Beast couldn’t save it. There are some iconic moments in this movie, but it’s mainly for the meme. Stupid, has it’s moments, you might enjoy it if you turn your brain off for a while. At the very least, it’s not boring. 5/10
Tumblr media
X-Men Origins: Wolverine: It’s so bad you guys.  Like...so bad.  I’ve watched it more times than I care to admit, but guys...don’t bother.  Please, don’t bother.  Everything about this just doesn’t work.  Hard pass. 1/10
Tumblr media
X-Men: First Class: If you ignore all the continuity errors, you get a really solid film.  Magneto and Charles were always the most interesting characters, and this is the perfect exploration of both their characters.  What holds this film back, at least for me, is Mystic.  She was always a compelling presence in the original trilogy, but her character trajectory here leaves a lot to be desired. I’m not sure the writers knew exactly how to handle her relationship with both Charles and Erik, but it comes off just a bit off.  Also could have used more development of the younger mutants.  None of them are really worth writing home about besides Hank.  Still, great movie and worth it for every scene with either Charles and/or Erik. 7/10
Tumblr media
X-Men: Days of Futures Past: Again, second film in a trilogy being the best one.  Solid story telling.  Fantastic utilization of all your characters.  Time in a Bottle??? Need I say more? It builds perfectly on the fall out of the event of First Class and makes the smart move of having the focus be on Charles and Erik once more, with the added benefit of how each man’s philosophy influences Mystic actually work both thematically and in the character work. Everything works in this movie, with the added bonus of Hugh Jackman.  What’s not to like? 9/10
Tumblr media
X-Men: Apocalypse: God damn, talk about a mess.  Total misuse of your Oscar Isaac.  They gave Erik a family only to fridge them because we can’t allow him to have any sort of development.  The big gay flashback only to be undermined by Moria who’s only purpose is to no homo the situation.  The only redeeming moments is the Quicksilver’s Sweet Dreams sequence and Charles’s lilac sweater.  Also, more Jubilee? Can we please have more Jubilee? She’s looked amazing! 3/10
Tumblr media
Logan: Just a great film, period.  A perfect western for the modern age, utilizing years of pop culture association with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to a degree we’ll never see again. The story on a smaller scale, which works in its favor. Everything in the story works with compelling characters and great performances.  The only thing I have to say is, if you’re going to watch this movie, please watch Shane (1953) either before or after.  You won’t regret it. 10/10
Tumblr media
Deadpool: It’s funny.  It feels like the little superhero movie that could.  There are no real twists or especially deep characters, but they don’t need to be.  Not all the jokes land, but it moves so quickly there’s another joke hitting you before you even notice.  Not life changing, but it doesn’t need to be. 7/10
All the other X-Men movies I haven’t seen, so I won’t even pretend to have an opinion.

the scarlet witch is an xman? i keep hearing that shell bring the xmen to the mcu and that shes an xman bc her dad and brother are also xmen but then shes on the avengers and im confused. it also seems that she appears a lot on the cartoons where shes also a princess and her dad is magneto.
The Maximoffs have always occupied a weird space in between both groups, but, to my knowledge, Wanda's never been on an X-Men, or otherwise mutant-focused, team-- at least, not in the primary Marvel comics continuity. As you know, there are parallel continuities and alternate universes in the Marvel canon, and while there are examples of alternate-Wandas in X-Men comics, they're few and far between.
Wanda and Pietro were originally written as X-Men villains, first appearing as teen members of Magneto's Brotherhood. They were mainly loyal to Erik because he'd rescued them from anti-mutant violence in their home country, but they eventually defected from the Brotherhood and emigrated to the United State. They were offered a place with the X-Men, but chose to join the Avengers instead, and, for better or for worse, Wanda has been an Avengers character ever since. Pietro has had more mobility-- although he is mainly an Avenger, he was also a fixture in multiple X-Factor series. Due to their status as mutants and close ties to important X-characters, they do have walk-on appearances in numerous X-Men books-- similarly, Erik, and other mutant characters, will occasionally show up in Avengers books because of the twins.
The Maximoffs are at the heart of multiple X-Men/Avengers crossover books, namely House of M and its follow-up, Son of M; Children's Crusade; and AvX. These stories mark major turning points in mutant history, and so, in spite of their distance from any actual mutant organization, the Maximoffs have long been considered important figures in the X-Men world. That status was disrupted by a poorly-received retcon circa 2015 which dictated that Magneto is not, in fact, their father, and that they were never true x-gene mutants in the first place.
Recent X-Men comics have addressed Wanda and Pietro's relationship with the mutant community, mainly through inaccurate and unsympathetic revisions of House of M, but it's hard for me to say what their present standing as mutants is, or what their future might hold. What I can say is that, ever since the events of HoM, the majority of mutant characters have been shown to hold strong negative opinions about Wanda. The X-Men have been generally hostile to the twins, in spite of their numerous attempts to make reparations for the damages they inadvertently caused. Unfortunately, this direction mainly comes from a shallow, misogynistic, and frankly ableist reading of HoM, which is still being perpetuated by Hickman, et al in the current X-Men books.
This means that Wanda really doesn't have any friends among the X-Men, but if we look at past comics, as well as alternate continuities, there are stories about Wanda forming a close friendship with Jean, and a romantic relationship with Kurt. In the main continuity, she and Rigue worked out some of their differences as teammates in Uncanny Avengers, although I wouldn’t describe them as friends. She also associates with magically-inclined mutants such as Pixie and Magik, although this typically happens outside of X-Men books— for example, she and Ilyana are recurring characters in Strange Academy.
Wanda and Pietro's appearances in X-Men cartoons, such as Evolution and Wolverine and the X-Men, are typically inspired by their early time with the Brotherhood, or later crossovers like House of M. These adapted characters are very different from their source material, as their backstories and affiliations revolve entirely around their relationship with Erik, omitting elements such as their adoptive parents and ties to other superhero groups. Wanda's romance with Kurt was even featured in WaTXM.
I hope that was informative! TL;DR: Wanda, in the main continuity, is not and has never been an X-Man, but she and her brother have always been in the X-Men's orbit as prominent mutants and have played major roles in defining moments of mutant history. They frequently appear in screen adaptations, where they are exclusively characterized as Magneto's children, but even then they're usually villains or tertiary characters, and not X-Men proper.
I really can't speak to how, if, or when the X-Men will be incorporated into the MCU. I doubt it will have anything to do with WandaVision, but it seems likely that the series will develop Wanda's magical and/or "reality-warping" powers. If that's the case, she could be used down the line as a catalyst for a soft-reboot, of sorts. I believe that's the running theory as to how the X-Men will arrive the film continuity, but, personally, I think that's a really stupid idea, and that if they were gonna do a reboot, it woul more likely happen in Multiverse of Madness. To be honest, I don't care for the majority of Marvel films and have generally lost interest in movie adaptations of cape comics. I shouldn't have to continue repeating this, but Olsen's Wanda is not recognizable as a version of the character I love, and is only really relevant to this blog as an example of Romani erasure. I don't care what she does in this or any future MCU title.

Do you like the X-Men movies :D?
I can barely remember the first 3 X-Men movies (if I ever saw them at all)... I just thought the guys who played Professor X and Magneto were really cool. It was probably the first time I thought you can still be OLD and a SUPER HERO. So thanks, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. The latter alone almost made me want to sit through the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy.
I still haven’t seen First Class, though I really should. I’ve heard from a lot of people that it’s the best film!
I ADORE Days of Future Past because... time travel. I’m sure this has been done a billion times in other movies, but I love that time travel trope where a character (in this case, Wolverine) goes back to become a younger version of themselves to fix some wrong or relive their life. I really enjoyed seeing the older version of Professor X communicating with his younger self (played by James McAvoy). I loved Mystique’s character arc, though I wasn’t sure about her relationship with Magneto... and QUICK SILVER. QUICK SILVER IS AMAZING.
It’s nowhere near as good but I like X-Men Apocalypse too, mainly for the Quick Silver scene.
And I still haven’t seen the new Dark Phoenix movie... I should watch it just to finish up the series.
Logan was a bit gruesome for me but I liked the scenes of Logan, Professor X and Laura being an adorable family while it lasted :’)

I have words. Mostly not good ones.
This is the first cover Lorna’s been on during the so-called “new era.” She wasn’t on anything in HoX/PoX, not even the X-women variant cover (while other characters like Danielle Moonstar and Magik were present). Is the art quality good? Of course.
But then there’s her standing next to Havok. Again.
See, there IS one good thing about this in that it’s acknowledging Lorna was actually present and doing things back in 1975, something Marvel has been acting like isn’t the case. But it’s marred by Marvel’s ongoing efforts to recapture their fanboying/nostalgia by forcing Havok onto her.
This time under the guise of “she was with him before so we have to respect that past too by showing it.”
This is not happening in a vacuum. Since 2017, we have:
Lorna’s return to comics hijacked on Blue to promote Havok
Lorna’s potential Malice story on Blue hardly going anywhere, serving as filler for a Havok-centric promo story arc
A Marvel figures set of Lorna and Havok, at the same time she was excluded from a Magnus family figures set
Marvel Tales, where a great cover of Lorna was used as a bait and switch to get people reading a reprint of Havok’s intro issues that treated Lorna badly
A splash page on Prisoner X showing Lorna’s memories, which included one of Havok kissing Lorna... while NONE of those images show what happened to her on Genosha
X-Men #1 (of this “new era”) bringing up how she used to date Havok while never bringing up anything actually meaningful to her character, like Genosha
And now we have this. All of this is just stuff that’s happened in the past two years.
A lot of people think “Oh, but they’re using stuff that happened before so they have to use that relationship.” They don’t. When Black Panther used M’Baku for the films, they didn’t have to pull in the problematic White Gorilla name and associations.
Similarly, Marvel’s decided that Lorna’s history with Genosha has meant absolutely nothing with HoX/PoX/DoX. If they can’t be fucked to acknowledge that she survived a horrific genocide where millions died all around her and had massive trauma from it, then why do they “have” to write Havok forced on Lorna over and over?
They apparently can and “have” to put out all sorts of content that defines Lorna by how she’s been Havok’s girlfriend, but they apparently don’t have to acknowledge anything meaningful ever happened to her for herself.
As far as I see it, this is just Marvel’s latest effort at a work-around which screws Lorna over. When Brevoort didn’t want to acknowledge Lorna was Magneto’s daughter, he tried to replace her in Wanda’s life, first with Enchantress on Axis and then with Luminous. This is just Marvel trying to use the past to get away with forcing Havok on Lorna when they shouldn’t be around each other at all right now because Marvel needs to understand, respect and use Lorna as her own character for a long time first.
Surprisingly, Marvel has not soured me on Havok completely with all their bullshit. I’m making active efforts not to let their toxicity influence my ability to see that things can be better some day. But a prerequisite of that is doing enough with Lorna that she’s not at risk of writers falling back into mistreatment of her around Havok. Until Marvel’s willing to do that work, the relationship is too toxic for Lorna.
Marvel doesn’t use or acknowledge Lorna having survived Genosha for 10-15 whole ass years, yet they can’t go five seconds without tripping over themselves to paint Lorna as mainly being Havok’s girlfriend. Literally paint, sometimes.

Xavier against Magneto
Tumblr media
interview for GQ México, May 2019
link to the source below =>
In an interview, the actors James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender tell us about their participation in Dark Phoenix and their history behind the X-Men saga. James McAvoy has it clear, he is jealous of Michael Fassbender and the rest of the cast in the x-men saga. The reason is simple: he would have liked for Professor Xavier to have a suit too. One very showy, a superhero one, and yes, he is a little bit jealous. "Yes, a little, the truth is I would have liked to wear an attractive superhero costume, even so, I have the look of an action man with a turtleneck, which I like" says Professor X and his reflection comes after a decade to be in the skin of the mutant leader and when many point out that the mutant path has come to an end. Sometimes, memory fails and more with superheroes movies, because the first thing that comes to mind is the marvel cinematographic universe, the MCU monopolized our attention the recent 10 years, however, if we analyze it carefully, those who marked the pattern for the action genre of the 21st century was the mutants and they got it through the first X-Men (2000) by Bryan Singer. Dark Phoenix is the twelfth feature film of the franchise and the fourth installment of a series that continues to explore the origin of its characters. And also it would seem that it wants to play with our heads, what is known as a deja vu, why? Everything points out that the film is closing the circle of its era with 20th century fox before Disney takes control of the rights of the franchise and will do so adopting one of the most complex storylines among its fans, the dark phoenix created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne in 1980. Some years ago, the franchise of x-men first class (2011) managed to renew the popularity of the series thanks to the exploration of the origin of the enmity between Professor Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr aka Magneto, generating more than satisfied viewers and with the expectation of seeing more thanks to the work of two actors who are not only the pillars of this story, but in recent years emerged as icons of Hollywood and world cinematography, and what better to chat with them about what it holds for this movie (and what the future may leave) A FAMILY MORE THAN MUTANT. If something they have in common the trajectories of McAvoy and Fassbender is that their natural histrionic talent has allowed them to diversify and not fall into an interpretation stereotype, from one film to another we see them in very different characters, disparate, for example: Michael looked futuristic and chaotic as David in Prometheus, while James showed off his talent in Split and Glass playing Kevin and his multiple personalities. But x-men has something special for them, something that motivates them to come back and repeat "I think it's a combination of several factors" says McAvoy "We all enjoy playing these characters as I do, I love this company of actors, here there's a true family that goes back 10 years ago and for which you feel a lot of loyalty and affection " In that sense, Michael agrees with that idea and delves into what it's like to be a fundamental member of this family. "I love the journey that has led to Dark Phoenix and I specifically wanted to return, because Simon Kinberg would direct, I wanted to do everything I could to make things turn out well, he is a fantastic collaborator and seeing him in the director's chair made me very emotional" says Michael, highlighting the fraternity that has been formed within the production crew, although it's not the only reason that motivates them. The depth of their characters, as they have evolved throughout the movies, in addition to the political and social settings where they are developed are also excellent pretexts. The mutant phenomenon within x-men brings to the table racial issues, class, social inequality, prejudice and the reasoning of these issues, through their characters is, in essence, the pillar of the franchise. Magento seeks to locate his race above the pyramid and Xavier appeals for equality with humans, but how do they develop in this new delivery? What evolution we will see from Magneto and Xavier? Michael answers enthusiastically "Finally he has become the leader of Cuba that has always lived inside him! (Laughs) He has formed Genosha, his own community: an independent state/nation where the mutants live in harmony, without being attacked and in where anyone who agrees to help can be incorporated, is a self-sufficient community, not locatable and that was the struggle of Erik during the franchise " For his part, McAvoy makes it clear that the professor also presumes a profound transformation "Charles may be the leader of a social movement, but now he is the leader of a political movement, I think that's what he looks like now. which justifies by saying that he is loyal to his principles, although it seems to me that he has forgotten that those principles only exist to protect his family and his species, Charles somehow has forgotten that" says James, almost in love with his character. It's true, Dark Phoenix's argument is one of the most popular and puts one of his allies Jean Grey in direct confrontation with them, a situation that drives the characters to join forces, rethink their current situation and evolve. "What I find most interesting about Charles is that he is not selfish and he is not very vain, he is very wise and his empathy is what drives him and his detachment and almost sacerdotal nature are what defines him. somehow that disappeared in the two previous films and returns in this one. It was something that I liked, I really enjoy exploring that notion of fallibility" James finishes. REVENGE TIME. In Latin America, Simon Kinberg's name may not be as popular, but he is a select member of the mutant family, he has written and produced previous installments of the franchise, such as Apocalypse, Days of Future Past and he also wrote The Last Stand. Now his revenge has arrived. On this occasion, Kinberg debuted as a director and his place in that chair was something natural for Fassbender who knows and appreciates him. "Kinberg was very relaxed, very confident, he seemed to be doing this for years, he is also a very intelligent man, he is the kind of person who doesn't speak unless he knows about the subject, he observes, he listens. That makes a great director" Says Michael. While James, in turn, points to the particular style that the director printed on his debut. "The interesting thing was his instinct to make the film something more subtle, based on the performance, we're still going to have a show, but that was his way of doing it, going down to make it look more real. of the emotional drama "says McAvoy. Added to the cast is the consecrated Jessica Chastain (Zero Gravity, The Help) and her participation, although she is not the star, is key in Phoenix's journey to this dark stage. She is one of the reasons for her unbalance, to keep her out of control. Although her skills in front of the camera were that this duo almost completely missed. "It was great that she joined," emphasizes Fassbender. "But we didn't have many scenes together, just a few moments in the final scene, she is present with Jean, so it was mainly through acting patterns that I interacted with her character" James is not left behind the anecdote. "I think we only have one scene together ... unfortunately! In fact, I have a couple of scenes with her character, but she was not there, sometimes, it was just a special effect, one of the reasons she says that she took the job was because she expected to meet and act with me, but barely and we crossed paths! " RISE OF THE PHOENIX. When Sophie accepted the role of Jean Grey, surely she knew that in her hands she had a vital character for this cinematographic stage who, incidentally, is considered by experts as the most powerful female figure in the Marvel universe. In Apocalypse, Phoenix only had a few flashes of its potential, although it made it clear that in this movie it would have greater strength. Fassbender, from the beginning of his participation, was more interested in the weight of the different female characters but clarifies that the conjuncture we saw today did not influence for this to happen. In fact, that was the original idea almost 10 years ago. "I think the seeds of female roles were present, Simon had some unfinished issues after The Last Stand, he wrote the script! So that was already there, and at the moment this happens, it seems to be in sync with what happens in the real world, but Simon has always thought this way, equality in everything, both for female characters, as for male ones ", he concludes. With the premiere getting close, the fate of Jean Gray along with Professor Xavier, Magneto and the rest of the X-Men will be solved, and Dark Phoenix will unveil us if it represents the end of this cinematographic universe that infected of emotion the audience, it also had inconsistencies and errors. In this last letter, we will see until the final credits. For now, neither Fassbender nor McAvoy knows what the future holds for what they consider as one of their most endearing characters. "As far as the X-Men are concerned, I've always said: If this is the last one, it's been great, we have new owners of the franchise and who knows what they're going to do? But if this is the last one narratively, it feels like a good ending " James concludes. goodbye mutants?

BnHA Chapter 171: Knock Them Dead With Your Sound
Previously on BnHA: Deku and Mirio visited Eri in the hospital. Eri apologized for everything they went through in order to save her, particularly Mirio who lost his powers. Mirio told her it wasn’t her fault and that everyone was just glad she was safe, and they all wanted to see her smiling face. Eri tried to smile but couldn’t quite manage it. Deku racked his brain for ways to cheer her up, and struck on the idea of inviting her to the cultural festival. Aizawa said he’d need to ask the principal but that it could probably be arranged. After Mirio explained the concept, Eri agreed, saying that she wanted to get to know everyone better. We then cut to the police, who were watching a live broadcast of a convenience store robbery and trying to trace its source. The robber, a gentleman thief named -- wait for it -- Gentle, took out six heroes in the blink of an eye and then left without taking any money. He said he wanted his name to be etched into history, and as he met up with his accomplice afterwards, he pondered what his next great exploit should be.
Today on BnHA: We are properly introduced to Gentle and his social media-savvy adoring fan La Brava. Gentle specializes in “chivalrous crimes” that target corruption. However his recent videos haven’t been as popular, in part because Stain and the League of Villains have been stealing his thunder. Back at U.A., word begins to spread about class A’s band performance and dance program. Bakugou overhears some grumps complaining about how cocky 1-A is and how they’re the ones who “start all the conflict.” That evening the kids meet to hash out who will be in charge of what. Jirou needs a drummer, and it turns out Bakugou plays drums, but he’s pissed at the idea of being obligated to provide stress relief for the other departments. As he puts it, “we aren’t getting smacked down by the villains because we enjoy it.” Instead he reframes the whole thing as a battle, and vows to knock U.A. dead with his sound. I mean, whatever works I guess. Meanwhile Gentle reveals to La Brava that he’s planning a new stunt which will surpass anything Stain or the League has done: he plans to invade U.A.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 198 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
lol
Tumblr media
LIVING LAWLESS. all about that THUG LIFE
okay so the narrator, whom I assume is Gentle, is talking about people who have left their marks on history
Tumblr media
you’re telling me there’s a hero out there simply known as “Brave”? I know we already had a Mr. Brave, and I can tell you right now he has left his mark on absolutely nothing. so that means there’s another guy out there named Brave, so Mr. Brave, your hero name is even lamer than I thought. WHY DIDN’T YOU JUST GO WITH SPLIT END
ooooohh!
Tumblr media
oh my god. I want to know everything about all of these guys right the fuck now. particularly Destro. “special abilities liberation army” sounds a lot like a Magneto type “mutant rights” type of thing. there’s an era that we still don’t know much about right after quirks first started appearing on the scene, and it fascinates me and I want to know more about what it was like. because I have some fic ideas about that time period tbh. Destro, I’m definitely making a note of you
so now the narration is talking about how before the present systems were established, the lines between heroes and villains were blurred and it was an age of chaos
honestly this all sounds incredibly badass, like a superpowered wild west
and Gentle seems to agree, saying it was an age of pure freedom
this guy really feels what he’s doing, huh
Tumblr media
the gentle, soothing, cuddly criminal. when he’s not out doing Crime, he makes ASMR roleplays in his spare time. “sleep-inducing bank robbery 🌙 (whispered/soft-spoken)”
he’s walking over to La Brava now and she says that their account got deactivated “again”, so she just finished uploading all of their videos to a new account
fucking 2010s manga though, you guys!!
and apparently that narration was from his debut video, which she was rewatching and swooning over just now
so he’s going to finish his cup of tea and then they will get on to today’s filming
oh my fucking god
Tumblr media
you don’t understand guys. he’s really a man of the people. he’s on your side! handing out punishments to “those who do not act gentlemanly.” protecting them all from the horrors of expired pudding
oh my god you guys La Brava is the cutest ever I swear to god
Tumblr media
how is she so cute though??
she’s frustrated because the jstore robbery video didn’t get that many views
but Gent says they’re not in it for external validation
she’s really mad though because she says it’s been 6 years since he’s been active as “the villain of the media world”
and apparently when Stain came along and went viral he stole all their views
Tumblr media
yes but you have to admit they are super compelling though. I miss them, actually. where are they
(ETA: for real, they’ve been way too quiet recently and it’s starting to make me pretty nervous)
Tumblr media
did you read that car chase chapter, though. “spectacle” indeed
he says his style is the opposite of that, but nonetheless it can’t be denied that they have momentum
he says all of the 10,000+ comments on their videos concern that violent behavior
are you sure some of the comments aren’t also shipping Toga and Twice. or theorizing what’s up with Tomura’s hands. or talking about how badass Compress’s new metal arm is. honestly they have a lot going for them, man
lmao
Tumblr media
WAY TOO MANY JUMP CUTS
I also agree with the guy saying La Brava deserves more of the spotlight. she’s so great
Gent is letting loose with a hearty laugh and says he won’t be discouraged though, and that his next project will surpass even theirs
that is a tall order, sir. Tomura’s most recent act was a great service to humanity. all I’m saying is, you better not hype me up like the last new villain only to let me down, because don’t even get me started on that shitshow
so La Brava is all excited and asking what the next project is, and Gent is responding with a bunch of cryptic bullshit
Tumblr media
so I guess we’re going to find out more about the history of heroes and when they became an established thing, huh? I’m 1000% on board with this and I may actually be even more excited for this than for the upcoming class 1-A rave, negl. good job getting this manga back on track, Horikoshi!
(ETA: I’m so thick, he’s clearly just talking about U.A. here lol)
so now we’re cutting back to U.A. and Vlad (who I almost called “Brad” again, it’s been so long) is talking to Aizawa about the cultural fest, and he’s all “so I heard class A is doing a rave huh?”
interestingly, this seems to be one of the rare occasions where Aizawa doesn’t seem to be 100% on board with their hijinks
Tumblr media
stfu Aizawa. what’s more admirable than a fucking rave
now we’re cutting to the always adorable children of class A who are excited to plan their festival program
and some shadowy person is coming up to Bakugou and is all “did you hear?”
oh no wait they’re not talking to him, they’re talking to each other about class A right in front of him
um, whoa
Tumblr media
y’all trying to start some shit, huh? gonna talk shit about his class when they’re trying to do something fucking nice?? like it’s their fault they keep getting attacked by fucking villains? okay then. hey on an unrelated note, go fuck yourselves
so are these guys just assholes or is this really what the rest of the school in general really thinks? because I can see why they might not exactly have a favorable impression of them, truth be told. Bakugou’s stunts at the sports festival didn’t exactly paint them in the best light. and most likely everyone has made the connection between the kidnapping and Kamino and the student dorms. and probably it’s not much of a secret who the two kids who were caught fighting on Ground Beta after hours were, either. so yeah
but it’s still a dick move to come and do this right in front of him when he’s not bothering you or anything, so fuck you still, and I will come over there and fight you if I have to, don’t think I won’t
fuck. well anyway, while I’m here grumbling and trying to take deep, calming breaths, we’re cutting back to Heights Alliance, and Iida is taking charge of a planning session
first they need to decide on the music, so Jirou is suggesting genres
she says they really should be doing EDM if the intent is to play dance music, but on the other hand everyone seems set on playing instruments. lol it would be funny though if everyone took turns DJing
so she’s asking if anyone in class plays bass or drums, and is met with a dead silence
she says she plays guitar mainly, so her drumming is only so-so. and she says that if she has to teach a beginner how to play drums then one month is not going to be enough time
OH MY GOD
Tumblr media
I don’t fully understand what’s happening but ARE YOU IN FACT IMPLYING THAT MY SON KATSUKI KNOWS HOW TO PLAY DRUMS OH MY GOD. KATSUKI ARE YOU GOING TO BE IN A ROCK BAND!?
apparently the answer to that question is YES because class A knows all too well exactly how to manipulate him
Tumblr media
MASTER OF PUPPETS I’M PULLING YOUR STRIIIIIINGS
lmao and JUST LIKE THAT
Tumblr media
TOO EASY
holy shit. and it seems like he actually does know what he’s doing as well. go figure, he is good at virtually everything after all
Tumblr media
well, this is everything I never knew I wanted. good show. excuse me for a moment, I’m gonna go play Song 2 by Blur and wonder what the season 4 OST is gonna be like
now he’s trying to walk away again lol
Tumblr media
this is really just an open invitation for someone to come up with a convincing enough reason for him to do it without losing face
although part of me also wonders if maybe he would just rather not be in the spotlight for once. especially after overhearing those JERKFACES from the department of GENERAL JERKS earlier
oh my god Jirou
Tumblr media
come on Kacchan don’t you want to be a good person?!
oh shit now he’s going on a tangent
he says nothing’s going to come of it
Tumblr media
ahhhhhhhh. I see. so it’s that he’s pissed off at the other departments and doesn’t feel like they deserve class A’s niceness
ahhhh but Jirou looks crushed ;_;
Tumblr media
Hagakure is kind of awkwardly being all, “hey, c’mon...”
but Bakugou says that what they’re doing is just “indulging the enemy”
and when exactly did it become Us vs Them though, I wonder. like, if the other classes are the enemy, that implies that your class is Not The Enemy though, yes? aww
oh shit. ohhhhh shit
Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh my. and I didn’t even order any Bakugou feels. “yes, we know,” Horikoshi says, holding out the delivery bag. “these are on the house. please accept our gratitude on account of being such a loyal customer”
oh shit you guys. so what do I even do with these. should I meta about them or should I just eat them while they’re still hot
lol, but yeah. “I didn’t ask to be kidnapped. we didn’t ask to be attacked.” people acting like it’s their fault and like they’re enjoying the attention. and maybe once upon a time he did want that, but it’s one thing to fantasize about being famous for being the number one bestest coolest hero, and quite another to wind up actually in the spotlight because you’re the kid who keeps getting attacked by sludge monsters and Villain Leagues. and then people act like you brought it on yourself because you were too cocky. especially when we know that on some level he does blame himself, so it stings all the more
so why should they go out of their way to try to support people like that? it’s almost like they’re apologizing to those assholes, and fuck that
mmm. [munching] so anyway let’s see where this leads
Tumblr media
hahaha. what
Tumblr media
oh my god this fucking kid
lol. okay so he is on board, then, but just to make it ABSOLUTELY CLEAR, he is not out to “support” anyone, but rather he is declaring war. via drums. that’s right
well hey, however you need to frame it! at the end of the day he has agreed to help, so!
the other kids seem to be on the same page as me lol
Tumblr media
yep. WE’LL TAKE IT
JIROUUUUU
Tumblr media
;_____; I LOVE YOU SO MUCH JIROU
and now we’re cutting back to Gent and OH MY GOD
Tumblr media
CAN YOU PLEASE. NOT
JESUS CHRIST. CAN THEY NOT JUST HAVE JUST ONE FUCKING THING. LET BAKUGOU DECLARE A DRUM WAR AND LET JIROU SHARE HER MUSIC WITH EVERYONE AND LET ERI HAVE A GOOD “DATE” WITH HER DOTING BIG BROTHER MIRIO AND LET THEM JUST RELAX WITHOUT ANY VILLAIN ANTICS
goddammit. I mean like, Gentle’s idea of villainy would probably be to whip out a violin and challenge them to a classical battle of the bands. but even polite villain antics are really not going to be good for U.A.’s PR at the moment. and this guy films everything he does. and just. we don’t need this sob
BONUS:
Tumblr media
everyone this is Agoyamato Tsutsutaka and Togeike Chikuchi. that’s literally all this is. just their names. did we really need to know this lol oh well

Normies, Horrible movies and The Joker.
Okay first I want to state the obvious, I am a comic book fan. Some have gone as far to say I'm a purist. That being said here are my PERSONAL thoughts and OPINIONS.
So apparently people are uppset about the new Joker movie. Saying its too dark/ graphic/ will make white men murder...yada yada yada. Now some these SJW cunts and cucks are hypocrites. Why? Because they were perefectly fine with the Dark Knight Joker...
Tumblr media
Portrayed by the late great Heath Ledger, this joker had no back story or Origin story and was pure chaos and fire. Killed multiple people, started fires...Joker shit. Yet he was praised for his "Realistic and Dark" portrayal of the infamous Joker.
Confused? Lets jump back to 1989, 30 years ago when Tim Burton directed the cult classic Batman.
Tumblr media
This is Jack Nicholson, who played Joker in the film mentioned aboved. The late 80's portrayal of joker was just as "Dark" but more comic book ( Not a bad thing in this case). Nicholson dig deep and gave a award-winning performance. With wit, style and murder. Many who claim to be SJW's loved this Joker.
Yet here they are trying to ban the ingenious and well crafted film that is the Joker, a one off stand alone Origin story.
There is no definitive Joker Origin story with in DC nor should there be. I personally love the Killing Joke Joker ( the graphic novel not the trash woke animation) but this movie deserves its place. It was like watching a DC graphic novel of the Joker.
Tumblr media
This is Joaquin Phoenix, who played this "problematic" ( God I fucking hate that word) Joker. This origin story went deep into mental illness and the dark path Arthur ( the joker's name in this version) is pushed down and his transformation into the Joker. With an unsettling but wonderful gritty realism. It's rated R ( which honestly anything that includes a proper Joker should be rated)
Now the SJW's have their panties in a bunch but yet no out cry of the senseless violence shown in the upcoming Harley Quinn movie. It's titled Birds of prey but ...let's be honest its HQ show. Not even a true portrayal of The red and black PhD wise craking, fun loving harley from the days of the Batman the Animated Series or even from Gotham City Sirens ( which Birds of prey was suppose to be named, but due to the fact Catwoman and Ivy might over shadow thier cash cow and the fact DC has a bunch of eggs in other baskets it was changed.)
https://youtu.be/XDlZ1eJOUKc
We can all agree suicide squad was TRASH. Not only did it not pull enough from its graphic novel counterpart or multiple sources and storylines with in the comic book world. It's casting, writing and production left everyone wondering ( everyone except the Normies) what the fuck is this shit?
Well to capitalize on wokeness and forced female leads they pull out birds of prey. Race bending black canary and other issues. Like the fact that harley isn't in Birds of prey and it focus is mainly on Huntress, Black canary and sometimes batgirl/ batwoman ( not the lesbian one but Barbra Gordon as shown below)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Normies are those who do not read the comics, or just know the mainstream characters. ( nothing wrong with being a Normie) unless you are dictating what should and should not be in a live action film based off the comics. Then we have a problem. Because of this awful woke culture some of my favorite characters have ruined, race bent, gender-bent or just emasculated for the sole purpose of pleasing SJW normies.
https://youtu.be/Yg1uqV2E4aE
This is a problem because not only is it disrespectful to the character, the source material and those who've bought/ related to these characters and storylines but to those who created these characters and stories.
My point is this, stop compromising great writing and storytelling to please people who do not really give two shits about it. These people are hypocrites and have never understood the source material. The dumb bitch who wants to change the name of the Xmen because she thinks its sexist? Does she even know why Xavier named them this? No, she doesn't if she did she wouldn't have opened her goddamn mouth.
Xavier sought out Summers and enlisted him as the first of his X-Men, Cyclops. Xavier called the team "X-Men" because each one had an "extra" power that normal people lacked. (Not so coincidentally, of course, "X" was also the first letter of Xavier's last name, and he himself took the code name "Professor X.")-
furthermore to prove my point -
From a social policy and philosophical perspective, Xavier deeply resents the violent methods of those like his former close friend and occasional enemy, the supervillain Magneto. Instead, he has presented his platform of uncompromising pacifism to see his dream to fruition – one that seeks to live harmoniously alongside humanity, just the same as it desires full-fledged civil rights and equality for all mutants. Xavier's actions and goals in life have therefore often been compared to those of Martin Luther King Jr. for his involvement with the American civil rights struggle, whereas Magneto is often compared with the more militant civil rights activist Malcolm X.
The character's creation and development occurred simultaneously with the civil rights struggle, taking place in the 1960s, while Xavier's first appearance dates to 1963. The fictionalized plight in the comics of mutantkind faced with exceptional intolerance and prejudice was done in large part to better illustrate to audiences of the day what was transpiring across the United States, just the same as it also served to further promote ideals of tolerance and equality for all.
Did you catch that? Equality for All! Well I'll be damned X-men isn't sexiest after all. This is the glaring problem for me at least.
So lets go back the Joker and his source material shall we?
In his comic book appearances, the Joker is portrayed as a criminal mastermind. Introduced as a psychopath with a warped, sadistic sense of humor, the character became a goofy prankster in the late 1950s in response to regulation by the Comics Code Authority, before returning to his darker roots during the early 1970s. As Batman's nemesis, the Joker has been part of the superhero's defining stories, including the murder of Jason Todd—the second Robin and Batman's ward—and the paralysis of one of Batman's allies, Barbara Gordon. The Joker has had various possible origin stories during his decades of appearances. The most common story involves him falling into a tank of chemical waste that bleaches his skin white and turns his hair green and lips bright red; the resulting disfigurement drives him insane.
Now just sit with that a bit.

Actor Michael Fassbender opens up about his love of sardines, THAT full frontal shot and why his wife and fellow actor Alicia Vikander beat him in combat.
You’re notoriously private. With such interest in your personal life, how do you navigate that?
It’s just a choice — I want to keep my work and my private life separate. It’s easier for an audience member to suspend belief [without] knowledge of me — to take the journey with the character that I’m presenting.
You subsisted mainly on sardines, nuts and berries to get to 58kg in 10 weeks to play Irish hunger striker Bobby Sands in 2008’s Hunger. Once filming wrapped, what was your first food gorge?
Japanese food. I got really cold in the restaurant when I ate that meal. I started to shiver. I guess my body wasn’t used to having to work like that to digest food.
For the first two to three weeks [on the restricted diet], I couldn’t sleep because your body’s going, “Eat something, for god’s sake!” Then it adjusts and realises this is the way it’s going to be. So reintroducing food is a shock to the system.
Can you still eat sardines?
Yes! It was a ritual, the most special part of the day. It’d be about 7 o’clock when I had my tin of sardines and I didn’t want to be disturbed. I began to appreciate little things more.
You and Hunger director Steve McQueen worked together again on 2011’s Shame, in which you went full frontal. To amp you up before those scenes, he would yell, “We’re all going to die one day!” Has that become a motto?
Absolutely. That line still rings in my head a lot of the time. As an actor, you’ve got to [have] the courage to make a fool of yourself and not be afraid of having egg on your face.
You grew up in an Irish town of just 12,000, which was worlds away from Hollywood.
I had an extremely lucky, very idyllic childhood. I’ve got a very close relationship with my parents and my sister, and lots of friends from those days. As I get older, I have a yearning more and more to go back to the countryside and that rhythm of life.
Your mum is Irish but your father is German. Do you have personality traits you can attribute to each nationality?
For such a small island, Ireland has always been very rich in storytelling, whether through poetry or writing or music. So I definitely think that had an effect on me. I guess the German side is a very strict way about preparing and my approach to work.
In your early days of auditioning, you worked in bartending. Can you still sling a cocktail?
I sure can. A vodka martini is my go-to. I did a lot of things — a bit of labouring, but I wasn’t very good at that [laughs]. Market research was probably the worst job I had. Bartending, I enjoyed the most.
Considering you once played Steve Jobs, what’s your relationship with technology like?
I’ve always been a little bit of a technophobe. I get impatient and I’m just not naturally attuned to it. But playing Steve Jobs? It really just gave me extra awe of him, his vision and his tenacity. He was a genius.
In the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix we see your character Magneto torn between good and evil. Is it more fun to play the villain or the hero?
I try to understand him and his motivations as opposed to making judgements. I sort of approach all characters like that, whether they’re fantastical or rooted in reality.
Given your history of playing tormented characters, is choosing the toughest roles really just intentional?
I know. It’s time to do some comedy. I’m in talks for Nacho Libre 2 [laughs]. I love Jack Black. It’s strange. When I play characters that have this sort of conflict it raises a lot of questions, and I guess I enjoy that.
Is it ever hard to shake off?
I’ve become pretty good at leaving the work on set. I’ve always jumped from one job to the next, so it gets taken over by the next character. Maybe it’s all sort of stored somewhere so when I’m in an old people’s home all these characters will come out, and I’ll be that “weird guy” walking around the hallways, you know?
Your wife Alicia Vikander played Lara Croft in last year’s version of Tomb Raider. So: Magneto versus Croft. Who wins?
Ooh, that’s a good one. Tricky. I know from training with Alicia, she’s probably got the edge on me. She’s pretty formidable in terms of her endurance and intensity. And she’s an ex-ballerina, so [she’s] got that extra threshold of pain.
But obviously if there’s any metal in the area she’s a goner. I could sit there and eat burgers all day long — it wouldn’t make a difference... flick of the wrist and it’s all over!
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is in cinemas from Thursday, June 6.
