I usually don't care for infidelity in fics but anyway here's my thought.
Price has a bird back home and God, does he love her. She's everything to him.
So, after a night of drinking, when he wakes up in Nikolai's bed, he's shattered, and he flees. He ignores any attempts at contact and tries to be the very best partner he can for his woman.
Flowers one day, our for dinner the next. He's the perfect man.
Until Nikolai finds him in his local pub and corners him, demanding they talk. John can't find an escape, so he asks that they take it outside. He doesn't want anyone that knows him hearing what they're talking about and taking it back to his lassie.
He tries to approach it with reason. He truly does, but when he's pinning Nikolai to the cold wall of the pub and biting his lip whilst the other man squeezes at his cock over his jeans he finds himself asking, will it really hurt her if she never finds out?
