shaking his head, heeseung refocused his attention on his friends. they all sat around him, angered by the post that y/n had made just the day before. the only person - save for himself - who wasn't mad about what y/n posted was jungwon. but heeseung couldn't tell if that was because he was still able to view her close friends story on instagram or if jungwon was genuinely worried about y/n.

even if the post was about them, heeseung told himself that that was the least of their concerns. the only thing that mattered to him (and he was surprised that his friends didn't seem to think similarly on the subject) was how y/n felt.

fuck! he thought as he came to a red light. if that post truly was about him and the rest of the guys, was it not deserved? he thought back to all the times that they went out without inviting y/n and he wondered if her fomo eventually got so bad she thought that they had silently kicked her out of the friend group. no... there's no way she thought that! right? y/n had a lot more sense than to think that a few outings without her meant that they no longer wanted to be her friend. right?!

the light stayed red as heeseung's mind swirled with several different thoughts. there was more to the post. heeseung knew that. granted, he didn't read it as thoroughly as his friends had, but he had skimmed through it quickly enough. the others were so hung up on the fact that y/n said she didn't have any friends; heeseung also guessed they were angry over the little bits of text that followed her dark thoughts. but... was she wrong to say all those things? the other seemed to think so. so much so that they completely ignored the blatant cry for help that was the entirety of y/n's post.

when the light finally turned green, heeseung couldn't stop thinking about the first line of the last paragraph. "...if i wasn't so afraid of death and dying, then maybe all of this would be so much easier."

in the three years that heeseung had gotten to know y/n, he had to admit that he was very aware of how dangerously dark her thoughts could be. there were moments when he wouldn't hear from her for weeks at a time. he remembered how y/n would lament on the droves of friends she had lost in the years prior because they hated when she would fall into her slump. after all, she wouldn't text anyone for days at a time; he recalled how when she recalled those memories, it somehow always ended with the friends telling her that she was selfish or that she wasn't trying hard enough to get better.

heeseung quickly parked his car in the guest space of y/n's apartment complex. from his spot, he could see the curtains of her bedroom window weren't drawn, but the window was cracked opened ever-so-slightly. he found himself devising a plan b in case y/n didn't come to the door and it involved somehow shimmying up to the second floor and busting through her window.

"... what are you talking about?" he asked gently.

every sigh that escaped y/n's lips was a dagger to heeseung's heart. he watched as she struggled to find the words to say. sensing her panic, heeseung guided her into her cocoon of blankets - making some room for himself as well. the two of them sat side-by-side in silence. he could wait all day for her to reply, especially if it meant not leaving her alone in this state.

"your friends," y/n reached for her phone from the recesses of her blankets, "they all texted me these paragraphs about something that i posted privately yesterday."

however, the warmth in his cheeks lasted for only a millisecond as his eyes fell just below their text thread; it appeared that ni-ki, jay, sunghoon, jake, and sunoo all sent messages to y/n in the time that it took for heeseung to arrive. heeseung tapped at the most recent of the texts, sunoo's. he repeated the process with jake's, sunghoon's, jay's, and finally, ni-ki's texts. with each scroll through of texts from his friends, he found himself getting angrier and angrier at them. especially after reading y/n's responses to each of them.

it was hard to tell tone over text, but heeseung knew his friends well. each message to y/n was crafted uniquely and in the sender's own words, but the gist of what they were saying was all the same.

they each started their message by telling y/n that they had been with jungwon the day before and how he had asked them if she was okay. they all state that they didn't know what he could possibly be talking about until jungwon mentioned that it was in reference to her instagram story - a story he failed to mention was only for close friends.

jay and sunoo went on to say that they didn't mind that they couldn't see her story; y/n was allowed to pick and choose who she wanted to see those stories. jake, ni-ki, and sunghoon - on the other hand - took major offense into not being able to see her story, considering "everything" they had been through "together with k". they all mentioned how deeply hurt they were by the fact that y/n said she had not friends. ni-ki had gone as far as to say, "i thought that me and the hyungs were your friends. but i guess not, huh?"

they then followed up their emotions with the same statements they were exclaiming at the park, about how if y/n had something to say about them to just outright say it and not dabble in this "high school bullshit and make everyone play this stupid game where they have to figure out what the hell it is they did wrong" (as jake put it in his text). in sunoo's message, he claimed that he was only reaching out to y/n because he wanted to be upfront with her and couldn't think of a single thing he might have done to offend her. jay and sunghoon continued to stress the fact that their text wasn't meant to be read as an attack, but they "wanted to be adults about the situation instead of resorting to petty, childish drama" because they too couldn't think of anything to warrant such a post from y/n. ni-ki drew from the fact that he and the rest of the boys were hurting over this and how it was "shady and cringy" to post a story like that on her social media account; he accused her of just wanting attention because he "didn't do anything wrong" so for her to post that with the implication that he had irritate the maknae to no end.

just like that, each of them wrapped up their lengthy chunks of text to y/n with such vitriol that heeseung couldn't believe that these were his friends. he knew they were coming from a place of hurt, but he was surprised that they didn't see y/n's post for what it truly was: a cry for help.

instead, they turned her raw emotions into their hurt egos. they decided to take bits and pieces of y/n's story and mold it into this narrative where she attempted to assassinate their characters. it went from being a post about how utterly depressed and pathetic she felt to being a post about them.

and heeseung was livid.

with all of them.

when had they become so self-important? if they were truly y/n's friends like they had so furiously claimed to be, why hadn't any of them asked if she was okay? even jungwon failed to ask her, opting instead to ask his hyungs and ni-ki - which, arguably got everyone in this mess in the first place.

heeseung felt his mind drift back to y/n's reply to each of the boys' texts. while he didn't read every single one, he did read the only one that got a text back, y/n's text to ni-ki. it was a long, heartfelt apology from y/n; heeseung could see how this whole mess was tearing her up inside just from her words to ni-ki alone. but he got even madder when he got to her parting words, only to see that ni-ki had replied with, "k. thanks for reaching out. i just need time for myself if i'm being honest. bye."

before he could say anything, heeseung was brought back to reality when he caught y/n silently sobbing into her hands from the corner of his eye.

"i'm sorry!" she whispered. over and over again. each time more broken than the last.

heeseung gently pulled her closer to his chestm cradling her to him as he rubbed his thumb against her back in an effort to comfort her. "you have nothing to be sorry for..."

this moment alone left heeseung in his thoughts again. he didn't want her to have to recount anything to him if she didn't want to, but he still needed to know. in her text to ni-ki, she said that she hadn't meant to keep jungwon on her list of close friends. that what she posted hadn't meant to be for the people she had met in south korea; it was for her friends back home - as a way to vent out the frustrations she hadn't known how to put into words for her korean audience. these frustrations, from what heeseung could gather, were things she wasn't ready to tell him or the others.

Due to this thought process is why I have him at first. He would NEED the members to step in because honestly, he could be okay with just loving you from afar. I could see members setting up blind dates for him actually. I was debating on putting Jun and Jihoon at most for the longest time. He would probably have Seokmin or Jeonghan help him out if he were to personally ask for help. ngl, I can also see Mingyu trying to help him out as well but it would be more of a "I want Boo Seungkwan to be happy and I'm tired of him not making a move." After the guys planned a date for y'all, similarly to Jun his anxieties lightened up. He was enchanted for this moment and he was hoping you were also enchanted.

I feel like he would want to pursue you but he would be nervous about rejection which... who in their right mind would ever reject him?! Anyways, that would be why he would go seeking for help. I feel like once he got over that hurdle of self doubt and lands a date with you with the help of Jun he would be such a gentleman and you would wonder how in the world you were able to meet someone as amazing as Xu Minghao.

The final member of the "it could go either way" is the handsome as HELL member Jeon Wonwoo. (yes they are all handsome as hell but I am so whipped for him it's not okay.) With Wonwoo, I feel like he would admire from afar for a while and debate on if he would want to pursue someone or not. From what I've read online, it takes him awhile to get used to people which is why it would take him a month or so to see what he wants. Which is why his members would get involved. Some members, ie Hip Hop Unit (especially Seungcheol) might get impatient with is prolonged plan and would message you and invite you to an event with them. While at the event, they would try to subtly make sure that you both were near each other the whole time. I can see Seungcheol smirking if you both started to talk throughout the night and ignoring everyone else in the process. Mission accomplished.

Ok, so I firmly believe that Lydia's dream at the end points to her subconscious worry that Betelgeuse might move on from her (and MacArthur Park is a song about moving on as best as you can after losing True Love) and target Astrid. With a compounding, and imo deeply fascinating, worry that her daughter (whom the movie/Delia seems to have cast as being very similar to Lydia, though personally I don't see it cause she seems too normal) might be happy with that. And I think that the bed-sharing might've been her brain - or B himself - pointing out the solution to that worry: Just give tf in and marry him already.

As an aside, a lot of Youtube synopses of that movie have AI-generated thumbnails of Betelgeuse threateningly/creepily hovering over Astrid, even though they barely interacted. Apparently lots if people's minds went there, at least for the sake of clickbait. Ffs, a guy tries to marry a teenager ONE time...

Anyway I think it would be hilarious if in movie 3 Lydia gets into trouble and Astrid calls on Betelgeuse for help, telling him she'll pay whatever he wants if only he saves her last remaing parent/family member, and he just goes: "Can you put in a good word with your Mom for me? Like, really talk me up. I didn't make the greatest first impression, and there were misunderstandings, and I don't think I'll have a shot if she thinks you'd disapprove" " I do disapprove!" "Well, just focus on the positives! Awesome powers, saved your life, has a massive di-... actually, forget about that last one. I mean, it's true, but wouldn't be helpful if you mentioned it."

So then they save Lydia, who'd be deeply, deeply worried bc her daughter seems to think B is a pretty cool guy actually, a woman could do worse for a husband. He's fun, he's helpful, he saved them, there's worse-looking dead people. So naturally, she'd find Betelgeuse and be like "If I marry you, will you leave her alone?" ...j/k, she'd try to exorcise him. We need spunky!Lydia back. She may be kind, but there are limits.

Mid-exorcism, Astrid clears up the misunderstanding about what sort of deal she's under, that he saved Lydia because he loves Lydia and without asking for anything bad in return, and points out that her deal didn't make her lie about B's good points. Lydia stops the exorcism via last-minute Green Card marriage. Betelgeuse does a whole triumphant, manic spiel about looking forward to moving in and starting married life. But first he's got to fetch some of his stuff (hc that he has just... so many clothes in an infinite magical wardrope somewhere). He draws a door with chalk, knocks, steps through. Walks slowly through the long, uneven hallway. Turns around to look back. Astrid whispers "If you took a step in there right now..." (Code 699) and Lydia goes "Yeah I know. [then, much louder] C'mon, let's ready the guest bedroom." *

We see Betelgeuse break out into a happy smile for a sec before the door slams shut.

*I don't think it would be believable if a movie ended with them being in passionate sappy Gomez-and-Morticia love. But there's no way that Betelgeuse³ will end without Lydia agreeing to keep him around. On a trial basis. With the understanding that she has the means to get rid of him if he misbehaves too much (he'll misbehave just the right amount).

It's an interesting headcanon that Lydia might have a subconscious fear about Betelgeuse making a move on Astrid. I've seen a few people mention it as well. It wouldn't be too far off to get to that conclusion, either, because of Lydia's past experience. Betelgeuse also had that flyer up in the attic just lying around. We as the audience know he likely put it out there for Lydia to find, because we saw him staring at her photo and talking to Bob earlier about how he's in a distant relationship with Lydia. We saw him trying to make contact and feeling triumphant because she might have finally noticed him that last time.

But Lydia doesn't have access to that info.; only we as the audience are privy to who Betelgeuse is actually after and how dead set he is on it, too. Only Lydia is the object of Betelgeuse's desires, even after thirty years. It wouldn't be a stretch to conclude that Lydia might fear Betelgeuse would go after her daughter, because at first she didn’t know what Betelgeuse was truly after; for all she knew, he’s still just looking for a way to get out and do evil mischief on the world of the living or whatever she thinks will happen if he’s out.

I personally don't think this is a fear she took with her at the end of the film, though. I think she has it clear now how Betelgeuse feels about her, and that he wouldn’t do something to her daughter. She might have thought it was a pretense before, or him being totally crazy, but after that dance mid-air, there's no way she doesn't know how he feels.

I think Babyjuice coming out of Astrid was just Betelgeuse turning Lydia's dream into a nightmare; a prank letting her know he hasn't left and he isn't planning on leaving her (he even thought it was strange himself lol). But yes, Lydia keeping a lingering fear about Betelgeuse going for Astrid is a solid headcanon as well, though it’s not my interpretation.

I know there are edits of Astrid wearing wedding clothes and Betelgeuse being creepy with her, but many of those were created before the movie was out, by people who thought the movie would be about Betelgeuse going after Astrid.

About Astrid putting up a good word for Betelgeuse with Lydia, that would be part of my dream-come-true story for Beetlejuice 3. I just want to see them explore Betelgeuse and Astrid's relationship as stepfather and stepdaughter. I think they'd get along great. As I've said before, Astrid hasn't really met Betelgeuse yet; she only knows two things about him: according to her mom, he's bad news. And yet, he helped save her life, and all it was going to cost was her mom marrying him and not being able to say his name (though he's totally chill with her calling him her "dad", which I totally love and will always bring it up 😂💜).

I wish the movie will end with Lydia and Betelgeuse being finally married, or at least together in love, but I'll accept them not getting married as well, as long as they’re on the way there as friends who may fall in love, and Lydia doesn't end up banishing him yet again or squirming out of another marriage deal. That'd be repetitive at that point. As for Betelgeuse being banished forever or destroyed, that will totally never happen; Tim, Michael, and especially the WB wouldn't allow that to happen. Not only do Tim and Michael love Betelgeuse, he's also a money-maker and widely beloved character for the WB, so it'd be dumb for them to end the movie with Betelgeuse being sent away forever or perma-killed.

To end my ramblings, I totally love the idea of Astrid and Betelgeuse working together in the next one and Astrid helping her mom see the good in him/putting a good word in for him. That'd be fun to watch.

I do have a feeling lately that if the do make the third part (which is looking more likely every day), they will be taking it in the direction of establishing Lydia, Betelgeuse, and Astrid as a family. I'm getting that vibe because I've seen an official promo TikTok about Astrid's family being strange, which kinda hints at Lydia and Betelgeuse being Astrid's family/her parents. Not to mention, the DVD cover photo has those three front and center, instead of having something like Betelgeuse big in the middle and the Deetz women all together below or something like that; a choice was made to have Lydia, Betelgeuse, and Astrid together front and center. Those little details have me like 👀, I'm getting a vibe that we're being led to see them as a family. But don't take my words for fact, it's just what I'm observing.

All of her friends are related to Tyler, and it still hurts to see him, so she takes a step back, only seeing them once in a while, until she distances herself completely, to the point that she doesn't even know Bjorn's mom died (which is canon! She's not seen them in so long that she has no clue ab it!!!)

I like you enough and feel safe enough to send this to you without the fear of getting crucified. Is Seven really a song worth of a Grammy? Like it's a pretty average song with multiple remixes. I personally didn't think Butter or Dynamite were worth a Grammy either. Maybe dynamite slightly because it was a shock to get a song like that from BTS plus a cultural reset of some sort but I feel the same way about them the way I feel about Seven. Generic song that could be passed as white people singing for generic radio if there wasn't noticeable accent. Plus the reason we have been able to stay on number one is because we have do many versions similar to what Dynamite and Butter had. It's not really a cultural reset of any sort. Now people might come at me and say I am an anti but I am not really. I feel like BTSs musical set standards are so bloody high. A song like Black Swan deserves a GRAMMY. Even a song like ON does but I don't know if I think their English songs do. The quality decreases a lot with their english releases. I found seven to be the worst out of those releases but PTD to me was equally as bad. I once apologise if I come across rude and antis but honestly, that's exactly how I feel. That said, I agree with you Seven is a garbage song compared to everything else we've gotten in Chapter 2. I said as much when I first talked about it.

Everybody can see what BigHit is going for here: a catchy summer pop tune to register enough in the wider American consciousness so the Academy sees a win for JK as the only reasonable option.

The mistake the suits in BigHit are making though, is that they've not first done the work to find out what will make a memorable mark in the American mainstream consciousness today. Is it a catchy, inoffensive, sugary song from another high-tenor male singer with his chest out and his pants saggy?

No.

People have made memes and compilations of that exact type of song. It's a working formula but, BigHit failed to note the sorts of artists that formula works for. For BTS, it's going to have to be something with more oomph. The problem for BTS is their fluency. They make sick music but converting that cadence and lyricism to English, can be difficult. Usually, this is where a good A&R guy would come in. Someone who has kept his fingers to the pulse to know what the public wants before they say it, someone who knows the people making the sort of engaging music BTS self-writes and produces. But so far that person has missed the mark.

Seven is a very well-made song. I actually stream it often for enjoyment now with the versions (Explicit, Band, and Festival mix), but American mainstream has heard a song exactly like it every year for something like 2 decades now. JK deserves better than that.

I'd have loved something grittier, maybe a song referencing cigarettes and blunts since he might be into that anyway. Like, JK can do angsty. We've seen him pour every emotion into those bunny eyes to steal hearts and attention. I wish they attempted something more daring than Seven for JK, though I understand why they ultimately chose it.

It'd be nice if they rethought their strategy IMO, because that's the only problem here. BTS have still got it. I just played, in order, RUN BTS, Dis-ease, FTMR, My Universe (Suga's remix) - all songs released in the middle of the PET, and they're all very good. Finding an English song with that spirit shouldn't be difficult for a skilled A&R agent. BigHit needs to get better bang for their buck.

The Grammys as an institution doesn't have the cache it used to. It very much is a local award, and my interest in continuing to know what goes on is tied only to the melodrama that is Bangtan's chances there. Plus a few other groups'. The Grammys are already so shit that if we're keeping it a buck, they deserve a song like Seven. Masterpieces like SMF Pt 2 and Change Pt 2 are beyond their range. That's music that's best heard in an arena, where you're surrounded by other fans and having the time of your life. That's not music you subject yourself to watching that stuffiness and ads marathons for.

Anyway, Seven is what Jungkook got and he's done a phenomenal job with it. Opening a Tiktok account and using it to promote Seven was brilliant. His voice is very good on it and the choreo kinda slaps. So, not being a total grouch, I hope Jungkook gets some recognition. Seven has good chances and I hope it works out for him.

I'm not holding my breath though. If another group gets a nomination, I'm nearly certain they'll be winning it over JK. Just my little unpopular opinion.

I hope that regardless of what happens at the next Grammys, more ARMYs develop a firm apathy for anything related to it, regardless of whether results are positive or negative for BTS. This is getting to be a major drag when we should be focusing more and positively on the guys.

k this is kinda random but i feel like a lot of people think that hob is some sort of super rare exception, the ONE person who would actually be happy living forever. but like. i feel like he's not really that special?

like, most people lose friends/family/partners and,,,, don't want to die? most people aren't suicidal? and people DO live for 80+ years now without committing suicide. is it really so "unrealistic" for somebody to live several times longer than that without wanting to die? but of course in so much of the media nowadays (see: the old guard, for example), immortality is perceived as a) a bad thing and b) something which only Evil People want because they're Greedy. and because of this, we all think of immortality as a curse, nobody would want to live forever, etc. in all the stories we tell, it's about people not wanting to live forever. and so we think that nobody would want to live forever. (side tangent: this is maybe why dream is so "who would want an eternity of this" - he's the prince of stories and all the stories say that nobody would want this.)

anyway imo hob isn't special for continuing to want to live. most people like living / aren't suicidal. actually i think neil gaiman is really cool for making a character who is (realistically) really happy to be alive.

i definitely agree with you, i think it's the idea of eternity that freaks people out more than the reality of living longer. eternity is hard for our minds to grasp and i think a lot of people would have an automatic response of 'no' if asked if they wanted to live forever. what does forever even look like? what would the earth even be like then? would you see the heat death of the universe or whatever? it's a hard concept.

but if you asked most people would you want 10 more years? 50? a hundred? if you asked in a concrete term i think most people would say yes, especially if they aren't going to age. living to 150 or something with normal aging would probably be really tough as your body breaks down, but without aging? sounds pretty good tbh.

of course it depends on people's life circumstances as well. somebody who's currently in a good situation is going to be more likely to say yes than somebody who's situation is hellish. but still.

another thing: the fact that hob always has an out changes the situation entirely. there's a huge difference between you have to live forever and you can live until you want out. hob always has an end point if he wants it and i think that would be a comfort during moments when eternity feels overwhelming. being forced to live forever is what changes it from a gift to a curse, you're basically trapped - probably one of the things that makes dream's perspective on it so different from hob's. hob chose to be here, dream didn't, hob has an easy out if he wants it, dream.... technically has an out but it's not in any way easy to choose or to make happen.

dream also has an immense burden on his shoulders that crushes him into the ground and that he feels he can't escape from. meanwhile, human life is always changeable -- even if hob gets himself into a situation where he feels burdened, given enough time he can get himself out of it, and he gets to make choices about how he arranges his life. meanwhile dream was just given this situation, and so on.

i also think that even if hob felt he didn't want to live anymore during his difficult moments, like after his family died and he was totally destitute, if faced with the actual choice he would say no. he might think he can't take this anymore, but if death actually showed up and asked if he wanted to die - when staring down the reality of it hob would say no. and i think a lot of people would too, even if only out of fear of the uncertainty of what comes next, if there is anything next at all. even people who are severely depressed and suicidal are often said to regret their decision the moment they actually try to kill themselves? like people who've jumped off bridges and survived have often said they regretted it the moment they jumped. so. i think most people might think they'd choose death and take it back the moment the reality arose.

Hi you may oppose me on my observation, that maybe right now R is avoiding or staying away from S, but I think the pregnancy issue will not die down if he does not outright deny it. In the future, it is still impossible to rule out that R is still connected to S pregnancy issue if it's true because of the previous Go Gala and pap walks and that will continue even if it is said that they will not be seen together again after her implied pregnancy announcement.

If R & K still have contractual obligations given their status in Hollywood, shouldn't they have control, directions and manipulation on how their fake romance narrative is running? Hello! Ciera here. Some of the things you've said, I already thought of. However, knowing how Rob likes to dodge and avoid things he'd rather not answer outright, I feel this will be one of them. He'll never confirm or deny it, or he would've done it already, IMO. That's not who he is. He doesn't sell his private life, and neither does Kristen. That's why they started all of this in the first place.

As far as them having "control" of the narratives, sure they have control, but not FULL control. That's why public relations teams exist. I don't think anyone saw this coming, really, and that it's why Rob seems so pissed off every time we see him publicly now. I don't think he expected the heat he's getting. And the "damage control" was not only the timing (meaning the 15th anniversary of Twilight right around the corner to overshadow all the implied baby talk), but also Catherine discussing she and Kristen "crashing" Rob's birthday party, which the fauxmance lied about attending/hosting. She wasn't even on the same continent at the time! 🤦‍♀️

Right now, or anytime soon, for that matter, I can't see either of them agreeing to go public with their legit status...especially not with the way the vultures and sheep feed off of this kind of BS that's just spewed out there with no legitimate proof. For me the bigger issue with H off stage x H on stage/doing promo/red carpets is the fact that fashion magazines (especially that V one which is deep in his ass and serves as a promo platform for his recent stunts as well) call him fashion icon because of the looks he’s serving when all eyes are on him but when you see his fashion choices for his days off it’s literally so dull and ordinary like random male influencers dress much more exciting than fashionicon!Harry for his days off. And it just gets me annoyed because I feel like I’m the only one who see this? So I will repeat myself again but imo the only one who should be called fashion icon is his stylist, because H is basically only a human hanger.

Also I feel like we get so used to H and his queer fashion choices (whenever it’s only a stage costume he got dressed by his gay stylist or his conscious personal choice) and him queercoding so now most of his fans who aren’t 100% sure about his sexuality are so confused why he looks so straight these months. But if we look at other closeted men in the industry, do they queercode? What are they doing to hint their sexuality that we know they are in fact gay but closeted?

And to add to the discussion why there aren’t new younger male artists to take H’s part for 8-20 years old. Maybe it’s a bit conspiracy but what if S*ny holds them back just to proove that H is in fact that new legendary artist who will be remembered forever like Bowie/Mercury/Prince? He only hit his 30’s this year but he’s already a legend worth to be remembered in the music history and while I find this super artifical and know how overhyped he is by everybody, what if there might he someone who will challenge him and top him in charts and take over his fandom but S*ny rather doesn’t want anyone new so there won’t be anyone to challenge H and might be more exciting than H is. I feel like all males who might be able to take H’s fans by the way they look and aspire to be fashion icons are all actors - Timoth*e, J*cob Elo*di maybe B*rry K*oghan for example - but all are actors not musicians so they can’t compete with him and so in the music industry it’s only females vs H. The unwillingly closeted will queercode. Billie has talked about how she queercoded before she came out to make people see her for who she is. She was hoping people picked up on it so she didn’t have to spell it out. People who are straight passing need to queercode, but others don't. Louis and Shawn don't need to queercode. They fit the gay stereotype. So people have already drawn their conclusions.

I agree that the days of 300+ patronages are no longer viable, but on the other hand, we have social media and are more connected with each other than ever. KP has a terrible habit of forgetting about their socials during their breaks, and having a few extra patronages where they can fill that time isn't going to kill them. Honestly, the sooner we all admit that they just don't want to have a heavy workload, the better we'll all be for it.

Not only are the days of 300+ patronages gone, but so are the years of 300+ engagements and rosters with 15+ royals. Neither William nor Kate broke 200 engagements in a full year of being Prince and Princess of Wales, and that's frankly a bit appalling.

IMO, KP needs to come out with a strategic plan. An actual strategic plan that gets updated every 5 years that presents "these are our objectives for modernizing the monarchy and this is how we're going to do it" because right now, no one has any idea what the hell is going on.

(5 years because Version 1 gets us through the kids being in boarding school, 2024ish - 2030ish; Version 2 sees the children through university years, 2030ish - 2035ish; Version 3 sees the children through military careers and part-time status, 2035ish - 2040ish, so on.)

"Keep calm and carry on" isn't cutting it anymore, not when:

3 out of 6 senior royals are on medical leave (Charles, William, Kate),

What will rekindling the fire do? Although part of me hopes they are successful - i'm rereading ADSOM and even that brings up the lack of balance between the worlds. I think Black London is such a cool concept and i'd love to see more of it. How can they prevent a repetition of Black London's fall once the gates are opened? What will that mean for Antari?

I also really like your idea of Kell and Lila's link, a more organic version of the sharing of power. Perhaps reflecting their relationship too, Schwab is setting up this need on Kell's part to be explicitly told that Lila loves him. A balancing of power and also expectations.

I do wonder about Tes though, it seems she'll reinforce the wards - and make the better, so will it be easy for someone to steal her? Although, she does give us a closer view into what Maris has going on. An opportunity to know her backstory. And i agree we're definitely seeing Serival.

Yes, Kosika is a loose cannon imo. Quiet but powerful. While she seems to listen to what "Holland" says, she's in that phase of life when she is curious about the world. Maybe he pretends to act all "Kosika don't do this" but it is just his way to push her to do things because he sees that while she is loyal, she is also tempted.

I don't know why, but Kosika reminds me so much of how Kell behaved in ADSOM before he met Lila. A loyal dog until he met someone who made him realize that he could be/do whatever the heck he wanted. In fact Kell has his rebellion at the end of AGOS - maybe that's what will happen with Kosika in Threads #2? Funny that their name also starts with the letter "K": hint?

Going back to "Holland", I've also noticed how he's theoretically "acting" thanks to Kosika. And to keep the parallels with ADSOM and with Kell, don't you think he is behaving like the black stone? I mean the way the black stone influenced Kell. So it might reinforce the idea that "Holland" isn't the real Holland but a presence that comes from Black London, maybe. Because the stone was the reason the og Holland survived at the end of ADSOM. Maybe that's how the real "Holland" could survive and give his power to Kosika. Because it was something inside of him that corrupted the order (since Kosika shouldn't have been Antari, if magic could chose).

I've realized they have the same "bond" Rhy and Kell have: "Holland" (and his power) is "alive" only because Kosika is alive, just like Rhy is "alive" because Kell is alive. Maybe by killing Kosika, "Holland" and whatever is attached to him, will die... or even the opposite. By killing Kosika, "Holland" may be revived, but he needs to make White London powerful again. It would be a problem for "Holland" if Kosika loses her loyalty to him.

These are interesting questions and I think we may find the answer in the past. I believe that the only way to prevent the repetition is not to be tempted by the black magic. Resistance? Even if it seems silly, it's also a parallel to ADSOM (when Kell/Lila have the black stone and they are tempted but they try to resist) or ACOL (when Osaron tries to possess people and they fought the darkness). Maybe this darkness will be too strong and it may change Antari's existence for good. I wonder if Lila "losing" her powers when she was kidnapped and Kell "losing" his powers after (when they had to close the door) could be foreshadowing of a future where they might have to use all their power to fight the dark from Black London and all of this may change the world forever. Maybe everyone will lose their magic or maybe they will lose their Antari status? Because it's a blessing/curse. As if magic chose the people who became Antari and "knew" they could fight the duality of what that status entitles. Perhaps that's why the black eye? Antari have great power that, in the wrong hands, could be used to destroy (much like happened in TFTOP with Berras) instead of being positive/blessed people the people could "venerate" (pass me the term lmao) as examples on how to handle magic and use it ad an advantage and not a way to hurt others. Examples on how magic should be handled with care and again, not abused. The keyword is always balance. lmao. The whole "from great powers come great responsibilities" bla bla bla. Oh, and this reminds me that we will probably see Nero the bone magician again. He might be related to someone at court. He knew about Tes and her special power so he might've become her friend but maybe he wanted to betray her. I don't know.

Yeah. I've wanted this for so long. I remember the first time I read the trilogy I was a little sad that none of them says the three words even if it's clear they feel them (and Kell repeats it more than once). I told myself "it's more realistic this way," and I still think it is. Love is not just expressed with words but also with actions and we see that during those seven years of flashbacks. However... I see how a character who fears abandonment like Kell just wants to hear those words (and I do too lol) even though he KNOWS she loves him. He could've told her first, yes, but I think he is scared that would scare her and she might act impulsively or worse. She may run away. Kell has shit self esteem, he probably believes that Lila would survive without him, so he tries to protect himself by not confessing (even though Lila knows). So he wants her to confess first, maybe. It would be safer if she does, for him, too, to confess. She panicked when he wanted to give her the ring that was just a ring, so that's why he's having cold feet. However, the ring issue was solved. Now Lila is wearing the ring and that is a step ahead in their relationship. And Kell is whole and fixed, so it's another solved "issue". Lila has her own ways to show love, and it's not with words. She finds it difficult to open up and she does have an avoidant personality when it comes to emotions. I've noticed that Lila cries when she can't keep her feelings inside anymore. Crying is her emotional response to near death/death experiences, because death/being unresponsive is a point of no return. No way to express what she feels to those people. She cries when Barron died (her father figure). She cries when Calla died (her mother figure). She cries when she almost dies in ACOL. She cries when Kell's magic is severely damaged and he is in pain. So all of this to say that... there are the grounds to say that after the events of Threads, Kell and Lila are more connected emotionally, thus we are on the way to a confession. No idea if it will happen in Threads #2 (bc I think they'll have to face other things first) but surely in Threads #3.

I think Tes is just like Kosika. They are both promising characters, and Tes is surely good at what she does, but she is still a teenager. We see how she is easily manipulated sometimes (even though, to her credit, she is witty) but she's only 15 so it makes sense.

This is something I forgot to say in the previous ask. I'm so curious about them, because they might've ended up to Black London! Maybe that's where Tes opened the portal, but she was unaware. I liked their dynamic and they can become the kind of characters who are on the villain's side that decide to come to the heroes' side and still manage to be morally grey. One thing I liked about this book was that there were more female characters than ADSOM, so I'd love to see more dynamics between Bex and Lila. I believe they'd get along well lol

Third, coming from a lower middle/middle class area, i have never met a single person who was financially "normal" to this area or on the poorer side who would dare throw their electronics like chan has before. Even if they got richer later, old habits die hard, and you learn the value of money. I mean, I've seen people toss or flip their phone softly when bored, but never that hard or with a laptop or something, holy shit. You can tell a lot about someone by their interactions with not only people, but everything. The amount of times i watched an idol and went "🫵rich kid attitude" is kinda funny. And i totally agree with all the asks that came in between you and your mutuals and some anons, skz are all mad hardworking, but i dont think you can or should ignore or cover up the fact that they had the financial help and the resources to learn more and give them an advantage above the rest both personally amx through jype. i was talking to one of my moots about this a little bit, so i'm actually glad you brought it up... but idk it's kind of embarrassing(?) idk for me to talk about so please bear with me im queasy lol. i was never some like super spoiled-brat rich kid or anything, but growing up i would say my family was very well-off or privilged maybe? idk it's kind of awkward to talk about bc i don't want people to feel certain ways about me but yeah. i think when you are in that kind of position, it's so easy to not even realize how advantaged you are. like there's that mentality of "oh i'm such a hard worker and that's how i've gotten here" when really, as uncomfortable as it is to admit, you don't *actually* know how far you would've gotten if you'd done it ALL on your own. not relying on anyone else... and not knowing if "just you" is good enough is a veryyyy hard pill to swallow- aka why most people disregard their privilege even being brought into the equation. it's easier to just pretend it doesnt exist. hence, i guess, why we love to think of SKZ coming up from nothing... it's just so easy to fall into that trap. and i feel like even the skz members fall into that trap themselves

unfortunately, that is the biggest drawback of being a kpop idol. in a way, you can't even be your full self anymore. which is sad. like not only do you not have full control of your own music (which is supposed to be your livelihood), but you don't even have control over how you're perceived. i talk a lot ab how i wish i could hang out with the guys behind the scenes, just to see what they're REALLY like... and when you think about it, that's kind of sad. i consume so much SKZ content, but even with all of that, it's very apparent that we don't know how they are when the cameras cut off. everything we see of them is specifically controlled by their team... except for things like bubble ofc and we see what that has revealed to us about chris lol. it's just so sad, but then again, it's exactly what they signed up for. (bonus points to u for the twenty one pilots reference though my god how i love them)

it's definitely not healthy to tell someone that they're amazing and perfect in every way and agreebwith absolutely everything they say. that's not helping anything. there's obviously a lot of stays who felt uncomfortable with the song, but imagine if no one said anything??? like literally everyone was too scared to say it and everyone just went along with it. theyd have a whole new comeback w songs ab not fucking liking you and just wanting to fuck and shit 😭 which like, power to them, but stays would just be playing themselves at that point lol

Didn't Holland say that tkk isn't real? Why aren't you all talking about that? He literally said that it isn't real. Why would he lie? If tae and jk were together, I am pretty sure he would've evaded the ques or just said something like no I don't ship them, or I don't know about them or smth like that.

One of jm's close friends had said this about jkk as well but jkkrs didn't believe him. Tkkrs called them delulu for not accepting the truth. Aren't we doing the exact same thing now? Aren't we being delusional?

The whole Holland thing has been diverted to him mentioning tkk on socmed, which I agree was wrong and he apologized. But that's a different issue and has been discussed extensively here and on stan twt. But what almost all tkkrs are being blind to is him saying tkk isn't real. Why aren't we talking about it?

Oh, I don’t mind talking about it. Let’s go through a few scenarios.

Firstly, did he actually say ‘ it’s not real’? What I hear is something like: it’s not alear/a lear okay. Now messing up r’s and l’s is something that happens when Koreans speak English I believe, but I’ve spent the morning listening to Holland speaking English, and (though his English is mediocre) this is not something he does (in general at least). The word he says during the live to me sounds like it starts with an L and ends with an R, it’s also prefaced by an ‘a’ which isn’t proper English, but could be due to his mediocre English, but it could also imo be a word that’s coined by the a and the lear.. sounding like ‘alear’. Overall I don’t think he definitely says ‘its not real okay’. Taking into account the boldness of a statement like that, and that he was clearly annoyed by being asked about a ship yet again. I think it’s also possible his comment wasn’t about Taekook being real, but about the question being not okay.

Let’s go with him actually having said/meant that Taekook isn’t real. Does he actually possess the knowledge about that? There’s two camps right now, one claiming Holland and Tae are friends and one claiming they are not. Except for the ‘couple bag’ mention I have found nothing pointing to them actually being friends. It’s ofcourse possible that they are, but it doesn’t look like it and him speaking about Tae and Jk like he did also makes me think they aren’t. Holland wasn’t thinking about what his comment meant for Tae, he was thinking about himself. His apology made that extra clear imo. While I think it’s possible he might suspect, being in the business himself, I doubt he actually knows.. since I think Tae and Jk are only actually out to those closest to them. There is only one answer (since he chose to engage) Holland could give to that question (which wasn’t even the question) and that was to deny. When he started that reply there was no other option for him than to deny.. everything else would have been taken as a ‘yes, they’re together’, which would have been way way worse. I think he made a mistake by starting to reply to that comment.. I think he realized his mistake (which is why he took some time) and came up with the only possible option. Because denying it is more in Tae and Jk’s favor than anything else he could’ve done.

Holland realized he made a mistake during his live, which is why he tried to correct it by making that first post: ‘I don’t want to know who might be in the lgbtq+ in the k-pop industry (= emphasis on not knowing) and even if I did, i wouldn’t want to discuss it.’ Which is basically backtracking everything he just did. That statement obviously made things worse, so he took it back and apologized. Holland was in panic mode, and justly so because he overstepped.

Let’s say Taekook isn’t real at all and he wanted to let us know and Tae was alright with him stating this.. why backtrack to the extent he did?

Ofcourse he isn’t a Tkk anti. He made a mistake, he put himself into a position that he shouldn’t have been in. Being Holland isn’t easy, he’s been very brave by coming out and I respect him immensely because of that. I can understand comments about other ships being annoying to him, because it diminishes his person.. he is so much more than a gay Sk singer and he literally cannot out any idols. The way I take this is he dis his live, got frustrated by yet another ship comment, started to respond because of that frustration, realized he shouldn’t have gone there and tried to control the damage. If I were to be a bit negative.. perhaps a bit of cloutchasing also played a role in him starting to reply to the Tkk comment. All in all the situation is shitty and I’d say Holland himself probably feels very bad about it too.
