dazai making up a whole language with fyodor that no one else can understand is amazing but imagine him using codes that, very objectively speaking, you could crack, it's just that no normal person would ever make the insane leaps in logic that it requires. except for someone familiar with dazai's weird thinking patterns, that is.

i just love the idea of dazai's unhinged antics being dialed up to an eleven when he was in the port mafia, and oda being the only one who simply wouldn't bat an eye at it but chuuya was the only one who would actually get it.

like imagine ango at the end of the jailbreak, his boss saying he should allow himself to sigh and lean back and maybe indulge himself, pat him on the shoulder, tell him what he pulled off reading heart rates wasn't easy and he should be proud for being able to keep up with such a plan

Thank God splatoon 3 didn't end up introducing a playable cuttlefish dlc like I feared last year (I honestly don't think we need more new playable species, would've been too sudden, my expectations were on the floor after rotm) but the cuttlefish visuals are still so suspicious to me. This hat has to be on purpose. That's absolutely not a fucking squid or octopus

And this is undeniably a cuttlefish (and the double fin shape resembles the hat)

Like how the lack of mammals in the splatoon world and ark Polaris was something suspicious in the previous games, and characters like marigold and Glen fiddler and lil judd are suspicious now.... It's way more subtle but I think this could be the splatoon team planting some seeds in case they decide to introduce cuttlefish as a separate species in the splatoon world. ill be keeping it in the back of my mind

Ok. I am all for giving Veilgaurd the space to be it's own game and appreciate it for what it is, but every time I see a person who openly talks about only getting in to dragon age this year or some other nonsense go off about how long term fans hate the game cause they cant handle change I see red.

I mean, to be a Dragon Age fan, you have to be able to accept change. Change is at the core of the experience. Whether that's a good thing or bad thing is a different question. But if you're a long-term fan of the series, you've succeeded in the task of accepting change.

The criticisms of Veilgaurd are, in my opinion, a little unique to the franchise. For all Inquisition tweaked certain lore and it irritated a lot of people- it did so with self-awareness and intention. I am thinking about how it did the Dalish dirty in many respects. For all I do not agree with that writing direction, the game itself atleast acknowledges it is 1. New information. 2. Dependent on the clan. 3. Gives you the room to roleplay your character according to previously established lore. This is just one example, of course.

Veilgaurd is unique in the fact it ignores much of the series pre-established lore and in no way owns up to it.

I have seen a lot of hateful comments about how Origins hasn't been the framework of the series since 2009. And yeah, sure to a degree that is true. The gameplay certainly got tossed out. But in many ways, Dragon Age 2 is a direct continuation of that world and setting. DA2 and Origins and the lore they established are solid and share a vision. Play as a Mahariel and engage with Merril's clan. It's the same world. The same npc's. Inquisition does not deviate that far from that vision when you look past the companions all playing devil's advocate.

I really don't think everyone disappointed with this game or finding it lacking are "blinded by nostalgia." Most Dragon Age fans will be the first ones to tell you the franchise is a mess. But acting like the games that established it as beloved to it's fans are no longer relevant is so nasty to me. You as a newer fan would not be able to play Veilgaurd if the older fans had not made the previous titles financial successes. If they had not kept the love for the series alive, this new game would never have made it out of development.

The game is good. It's enjoyable to play. It's not without its charms. It should be given room to shine for what it is. It's a miracle we have it given the development journey it went on.

But it's also a massive smack in the face to many people who loved all three previous titles. And that's a bad thing. And I hope future titles remember the lore and tone of the series better.

These two things can both be true.

Going back to the "Mazey becoming the Principle thus making her the next in line for Kipperlily to get rid off" thing, while killing her would be a quick option, I think there are other ways to get rid of her that are much more innocuous.

Mazey is a Bard and a senior. Would it really be that weird if, conveniently, she got scouted by a professional dance company or a pop star looking for backup dancers? An opportunity so good that she couldn't pass it up and would have to leave school thus making her ineligible to be president/principle?

the gif is so bad but. the former emperor and his lotus garden, where lotuses represent purity and rebirth, and are a standin for his consorts (whose lives he ruined). as the lotus buds bloom, he shrinks away from them, terrified; he's so afraid of adult women he can't even look at any of his victims after they grow up. also lotuses have symbolism of being a stainless, pure flower despite emerging from mud, which perhaps can be contrasted with the former emperor's consorts as well.

So this is kinda a crack theory but I was once again watching the arcane trailer and I began thinking about this little clip

Which is obviously a direct parallel to this scene from season 1

It's literally the same exact shot just with different lighting and a globe instead of a weird magic ball. They even seem to be using the same character model with the same hand tattoos and everything.

These unusual shapes like the one seen in the first image are usually associated with the hex core and Viktor

So that got me thinking. Season 2 is likely gonna have some kind of time travel plot involving Ekko.

What if the figure in both these scenes is actually Viktor who ends up being transported back in time to save Jayce and set everything in motion.

I mean the wizard in season 1 does carry a staff similar to Viktor's

OKAY LISTEN imagine a scene where Queen Charlotte rings the bell to send for Reynolds and Brimsley. Nothing too serious they just need something or other. And in come Reynolds and Brimsley rushing in flustered, absolutely red cheeks, hair a mess, and WEARING EACH OTHERS JACKETS. Brimsley in the long blue coat that has Reynolds doing "farmer George eyes" at him and Reynolds in that small red coat looking absolutely comical. The way Charlotte would Smirk and tell them to go fetch them some wine food or whatever and too clean themselves up. Alrighty, first things first, I headcanon Irratino with freckles so hard. Nothing at all backs the headcanon up, just vibes, and according to Irratino's standards, that's enough ✨

The vibes also told me to give him tattoos. And I stole the one of his logo from this post @snozzlefrog made lmao. For the one on his other shoulder, I tried to base it on the Aquarius constellation. The idea behind it is that his freckles coincidently laid in that pattern, and Irratino, being the astrology-obsessed guy he is, took it as non-coincidental and got it tattooed because it's awesome.

Also, star earrings! They're so canon. I first saw Jessie @foxglove-woods do it here, and recently @lilythelitten and @lunar-inkclipse, too, so it's basically fact now /hj

Ah, and "Irratino wears glasses" gang, rise up! Lily is pioneering us through 🫡

Lastly, I simply could not have gone about drawing Irratino without drawing his cartoon counterpart, designed by @berrypass-de-murdler. I am a huge fan of the world they created, and the amount of effort that goes into the cartoon murdleverse is so admirable.
