I'll talking about objectification, hypersexualisation, and prejudice so a warning I guess --->

The Gaze has been working overtime on Wolfwood's ass (and tits) and it's making me a little nuts. This is not to say his character cannot be presented in a sexy way, or that he cannot perform sexuality without being problematic, it's just... ask yourself: why.

It can be subconscious, you might not even notice it, but media tropes have a way of worming into people's brains to be regurgitated into fan art, especially if the character presents or is coded marginalised in a way you are not. (I do it too!)

It starts from young. I had an adult call me a "hot head Latina" as a child LMAO (I am not even Latin)

Characters and actors that looked like me were worked into typically these roles - If feminine, desired, sexy but crazy, dangerous. If masculine, similarly sexual, either hot or ugly, suspicious.

I feel silly and attention-seeking for speaking up about this kind of stuff, especially as I feel I'm not in a place to cry 'racism' specifically because I'm more 'ethnic' than POC.

I'm a Balkan mongrel - Greek, bits from Turkey, Albania, and fuck knows what else. I've always kept my head down about people being weird to me but it comes to a point like the point of a classmate comparing my hair to an animal's, where I feel I gotta go "ok yeah lets unpack that."

Now about Wolfwood, he's our classic racially/ethnically ambiguous smoky sexy guy. Particularly in the 98 anime, he's pretty bosomy. He's a struggler - swindling Gunsmoke with his charm and portable confessional. This swindler trope, I've observed, tends to go hand in hand with 'suspicious immigrant out for your money'. Again, maybe I've pulled that out my ass and I'm being oversensitive, but I notice things. Tastes left in my mouth. Anyway. Brings to mind the time some other classmate jokingly called me a 'hustler' for *checks notes* making sure my work is submitted on time.??

Now on the subject of NSFW fanart... oh boy I am so uncomfy writing this... I rarely see him depicted.. receiving. You can place the issues here pretty easily. Give him a break. Please. Also I did note this on my original post and also completely my own opinion but PLEASE that man is not bigger than Vash, and I don't mean like not taller, like, thiccer. Calm the fuck down.

I hate having to write this bc it makes me uncomfy and reflects my own experiences of objectification by other people which sounds all very "oh noo its sooo hard being attractive :'((" but I trust y'all smart enough to see where I'm coming from.

The gaze. Othering. Marginalised masculinity (not to mention my intersecting trans identity thats a whole other unrelated convo). Hypersexualisation. Objectification.

But back to Wolfwood!! - are these tropes perpetuated by the original creator? Personally, I don't think so. (Wolfwood's design is based off a Japanese guy btw - musician Tortoise Matsumoto) The 98 anime? Maybe?? Am I reading too much into it? It's hard not to - naturally I'll latch onto the ambiguous guy and go "alright let's see how they do this" so naturally certain things stand out to me.

But when some of that fanart starts rolling out ... Jesus Christ ... MY EYES

On the flipside, I've seen great fanart out there! And I've seen quite a few Latino headcanons for Wolfwood too!(like I mentioned before I am not Latin, I am also not American in general I am a filthy freak Australian with our own colonial racist histories and intricacies) (There is also Latin diaspora here but I don't wanna speak for anyone aaaah)

I hate AI stealing creators' content as much as everyone else does. However, more so, I want anyone to be able to access real art. I have selected all of the available options to keep my works from being taken, and am very aware that the only way to keep my work safe on AO3 is to close it to guests. 

It took me, an avid fanfic reader, 4 years to get an Ao3 account. I care more about you guys being able to read what makes you happy and feeds your brain worms, than I care about my writing being stolen for this AI boom we are living in. It would tear me apart if you wanted to access my writing but had to wait so long for an account. 

I do not support AI in any form that replaces human beings, and though I know eventually I may never be able to have my work safe from AI on any platform, I will keep sharing it, and downright refuse to take it down. 

Taking all of my art down in fear of AI will be something I never do. In that way AI will kill me just as much as if it started stealing my work. Art is meant to be seen and shared. They will not take that from us.

I believe there is a group of people who like real artwork and writing made by real people. And I keep my trust in those people to see the value in non AI generated content.

Hello Tumblr! I have created a Magnus Archives AU and I'm actually in the process of writing for it! It's in the planning stages but I can tell you it's going to be a fantasy au inspired by the Little Mermaid and also the Netflix movie The Sea Beast, which is a fantastic piece of animation and I recommend you all watch it, such brain worms! Anyway, this AU will contain: Jon as a siren who's the last of his kind, Peter Lukas and his crew of Monster hunters, a Poet Martin and Sea Witch Elias (as well as many character cameos as I can throw in there!) Well okay, I've always stated in the server and in-general that I'm a huge fan of 4 NPCs. Bailey, Gwylan, Harper and Eden. So I'll start with those!

Bailey and Eden obviously have history, having been childhood friends, so I find their dynamic and what they are in the world super interesting. Eden fled from his trauma (He has CPTSD, for those that care), while Bailey stayed to seek revenge (You can find him blackmailing Quinn in-game). That instantly to me creates interesting dynamics and real-world parallels! Bailey is also obviously here contributing to the abuse and suffering that's felt in town.

Gonna respond to your answers one by one because wowza, there's a lot to go through. Gotta say first though, shaking my hands with you so hard on finding Eden and Bailey dynamics with each other and the town so damn interesting. The way they responded to their trauma respectively says a LOT about their characters; but also, I've always been a sucker of the 'cycle of violence' theme which made me love Bailey even more than I already do 💖

Harper feeds into tropes I love. He's so weird. I've personally argued that he should use his genitalia less during sex-scenes because I am really into the idea of him just getting off using his weird brain-worms and the power of sheer autism. Puri disagrees with me on that and I do accept that sometimes what I want is just fueled by my own 'tism rather than any sort of proper design lmao.

Gwylan is just wish-fulfillment tbh. I have a soft-spot for Witchy, weird, alternative type characters. Always did. Gwylan fills that spot perfectly. Makes me like them.

Personally not much of a Harper or Gwylan fan since I just don't interact with them much in-game; but always fun to see underrated character like Gwylan being loved!

(+Obviously I'm a fan of Kylar and Sydney, their failed childhood friendships, Kylar being a child of Auriga Worshipers, Sydney of Virgo worshipers, I like the Historical references through the Ivory Wraith, I like all of the Love Interests having their own red flags, I like Avery being a serial abuser and a commentary of how easy it is for the rich to abuse the poor and write them off as nothing more than things to be abused, used or toyed with.)

Fun fact, I didn't even know Kylar and Sydney were childhood friends until I saw a fanart depicting them as such and looked it up LMAO. And we love an old rich bastard being an entitled asshole 🫶💕

For other things I like about DoL they mostly have to do with real-world comparisons, trauma, history, etc. I've made a rather long-post about how I think about the town as a result of insularism and isolation turning a pseudo-Christian faith through it's own localized schism towards what we now have with Auriga and Virgo, aka The Children (The Cult) and The Temple, and how their increased radicalization erased the middle of the town.

I also like the commentary about how easy it is to ignore and normalize violence towards marginalized groups, something Vrel spoke about in a rather good interview from 2022.

As a whole you can see I have a very heavy focus on the worldbuilding, characters and lore, and because of my personal interest in the more realistic aspects of the game or comparing them to the real world it does cause some butting of heads due to it basically being anti-escapism.

That's a definitely another take to have on the game. I'm personally not too big of a fan for the realistic aspects in a lot of medias, most of these are escapism entertainments so we're definitely on the opposite ends of the spectrum on this matter :'D

I'm very open to discussing a lot of stuff about the game, plans and lore! For the Bailey-sex thing I did argue in favor of removing it, but that wasn't anything close to a Solo-Decision. There are 5 or more people usually involved in long-term decision making with PurityGuy and Vrelnir having the final say and veto power always.

Oh no, yeah. I think a lot of the anons have agreed that it wasn't a one-man decision. I figure most of them are more irked by your message of making fun of them. Even if it's done in a playful manner, not everyone will take it as so. Especially when they are probably already irked by the sex scene removal, your comment is like a fuel added to the fire 😔

Soft-Eden is OOC, I know a lot of people like his softer side and that's good. Not all of it will nor should be removed. Mostly the stuff to do with specific dates and going into town. I argue in favor that to not harm his character too much he should get more soft-evens down the line, especially once pregnancy content rolls in. He DOES genuinely care about PC, his actions, even putting PC in a cage and such come from a place of care and worry that unless he does these thing PC will not learn and will endanger themselves.

Thankfully the Eden stuff isn't as bad as the Morgan stuff. Morgan needs an ENTIRE rewrite.

Well I can't wait to see all Eden's rewrites and future new contents. Love me their delusional romance ass <3 Also lol, I don't know anything about Morgan, so I'm just going to take your words on that. I can't comment much on the topic of Abortion in-game. It's just something we don't want to engage with. +As both cults in town (Yes tbh even the Temple is a cult), worship life and giving birth no one in town would even be willing nor able to perform it. (Yes I know this can easily be written off as just the writers being puritanical but there are just some topics we don't want in the game. It's not a pure sandbox, it's not just a life-sim. There are gonna be endings, permanent consequences, etc in the game. I think people have a right to choose what topics, fetishes, etc, they wanna engage with, and especially CREATE with as Developers, Writers, etc.)

That's a fair reason, yeah! I think if you were open about this reason being why abortion won't be in the game, it could dissuade a lot of the player's dissatisfication. The main reason why it was such a big issue is I think because no one from the dev team seems closed off about it when asked!

Another thing to note is that DoL has become HUGE, and so it's rather obvious why we'd want to steer so clear from mentions or sexualization of children. We really do mean it when we say the NPCs, LIs, etc are all adults. I'm well aware in fiction for many people anything goes. I've written Ao3 fics, I'm not entirely clueless. The dead dove has been eaten. It's chewy. But yeah, some things are just hard No because we or find it off-putting, immoral or it's outright illegal and could get people like Vrelnir in trouble. Even more so because he makes a living from DOL and donations earned through it.

That makes senses! I know a lot of commerical platforms don't allow sexual portrayal of underage or children character even in fictional context, and I have seen some notable artists being banned entirely for loli/shota contents. But it's also still fair to avoid that just cause the dev team are squicked by it. At the end of the day, it'll be rather unhealthy to create something that actively discomfort you :')

I do have to disagree with the 'evilness' that you act out. If someone is breaking the rules, as an admin, you have the right (even expectation) to moderate it! Be stern! Give out warnings, strike or a ban! But I just don't see how putting up this evil act is going to be helpful to prevent more rule breaking. It made it feels like there's no rule breaking happening because no moderation is being done, and that you're just picking on someone out of personal icks.

It's just overall off-putting, in my opinion. And bringing up contents made by users from their other social media unpromptly feels incredibly rude to me. They are all publically available, yes! But if someone were to suddenly show me an old, awful fan content I made without so much as a 'hello', it would definitely leave a bad taste to me - even if the intention are lighthearted and I know that, still won't change that it'll leave a bad impression to me.

Just saw the news about BioWare, Dragon Age and Trick and Karen Weekes, and I’m gutted by the news, especially for the hard working people whose livelihoods have now upended. I’m particularly so heartbroken for them - to have put 20 years on a creative product, to have poured your heart and soul into these characters and storylines for it to be unceremoniously and completely closed in your face after so much work! I think as I write this I’m aware enough to acknowledge how genuinely and wholly I’m grieving for them and Dragon Age as a whole, because I’ve loved it for so long and through so many years. And while VG wasn’t perfect, it’s the fact that we still got it on our hands and Solavellan still got their ending. Tears, truly. So many tears.

Hope it’s ok that I’ve come to your ask box and that’s it not too silly. I think it’s telling that for some of us (at least for me!) we’ll think instantly of our favourite fandom creators - writers, artists, commentators (and more) who have kept the fandom afloat and continue to volunteer their personal time to release their beautiful fanfics and fanart, etc. And you have absolutely been one of my favourite authors, esp. after VG. ‘Requited’ has meant so much to me as a work of art, and getting to relive all the moments from Inquisition through your words has been such a balm for the soul. Okay, I know almost exactly what you mean but I don’t think it’s a spiteful thing at all? Even in the modern day you don’t get lesbian/gay/queer romance in shows or films as frequently as straight romance (naturally because of heteronormativity so they’ll likely prove to be more appealing to the general public), and that absence was much more obvious in the past? When we would have been growing up too?

Anyway, I think it might just be our way of compensating for the lack of shows that openly show queer relationships through creating our own ships in fanon? So I think it’s a normal thing to think about honestly :)

A take on R-18 content of Yuzuki Yukari

So in that one blog I made about the four main types of fanart of Yukari, I mentioned that I'm not a fan of the erotic ones, and I thought it'd be nice to make things clear.

I'm not against lewd stuff of Yukari, in fact, some of my favorite artists, songs and covers have suggestive and lewd stuff with Yukari.

The reason I said that was because I don't like the way they're done, I find some R-18 content (not just of yukari) to be very objectifying and over the top, what I mean is that for example having said character in an unatural position or has unatural proportions, usually for the male gaze.

This problem is not at all unique to Yukari, far from it, I've seen it with almost every anime or cartoon girl.

I also wanted to mention that lately there has been people infantilizing adult character who are either, short, have "cute" features (big eyes, cute hairstyles, ect), smaller chests, have neurodivergent traits, or just in general not being society's definition of what they think makes people adults (liking cute stuff, being carefree, ect).

And while I haven't seen people consider Yukari as being "child coded" I have seen people age her down, or have thought that she was 12-15 (I'm kinda concerned for whoever thought that cause like what?), despite her actually being 18.

Now there's some debate about the whole vocaloid canon age thing, and I'm not against anyone who choses to age up or down vocaloids, but it is something I have noticed, because most people will age up Hatsune Miku or Megurine Luka, but then age down Yuzuki Yukari, but why?

And no, I am not acusing anyone who ages down Yukari of infantilizing her, the reason why I'm bringing up this topîc is because I've seen people claim that you shouldn't be making any R-18 stuff of said adult character because they "look like a child" or are "child coded, I've seen it happen with Super Sonico and other cutesy anime characters, and I'm a little afraid of this happening to Yukari some day.

Not to mention the whole "your brain isn't fully devoloped until age 25" myth going around but that's another can of worms

19. What’re you excited about for next year?

Uh... hm. What is going on next year in the first place?

Well, for starters, the Kekkai Sensen manga is still going relatively strong with the third installment Beat 3 Peat and I'm really excited to see what all we get into with that. Right now it sits with maybe 4-5 chapters so there's a high likelihood of at least a few more.

I'm pretty excited to see what Helluva Boss season 3 will be like. At this point I'm kinda just here for the story and waiting patiently for the finished product so I can fuck it up in my own way as a side project. (Something I do frequently...)

I think the final season(s?) Of My Hero are gonna wrap up since the manga finally finished and who knows if/when Vigilantes or Team Up Mission are gonna end so that's pretty exciting too.

And given the news around Viz Media buying all the rights to RWBY from Rooster Teeth, I'm lowkey excited to see what they do with that series as a whole. Personally I hope that they re-write the series from scratch instead of continuing what they have coming off Volume 9 but that can of worms is up in the air and I'm just here for the ride.

There's also the buzz surrounding Gravity Falls's potential revival that will very likely be a movie or short OVA series. Though with Alex Hirsh's contracts with Netflix that's shaping up to be a Marvel Comics situation.

Uh... also excited (and lowkey dreading) Pokemon Legends Z-A. On the one hand, neat little spin off game that can continue the series of Legends. On the other there's talk of a Switch 2 and Nintendo just loves making things super exclusive to consoles.

Other than that I'm just hoping I get more time to work on OCs, fanart, and fanfics because that has been boiling in the back of my brain for ages with nowhere to go due to work specifically. I get way too excited about my OCs with no outlet and maybe I'll get the time of day for that. (Though the sooner the better imo)

What was the first thing about Sleep Token that made you decide to keep listening/interacting with the fandom?

I tend to get really fixated on a particular artist/genre, and won't be able to listen to or enjoy other music while I'm stuck in that fixation. At the time I first heard ST (recc'd by a coworker), I was in one of those music phases where I could only listen to Spiritbox. Like, I listened to The Summoning and I couldn't even finish it, because it wasn't the music my brain worms were demanding at the time. Vess' voice was also a bit of an acquired taste for me (I understand the peanut butter comments tbh), but it's definitely akin to getting used to drinking scotch—it (in general) may not taste very good when you first start out, but DAMN is it delicious once you've acclimated to it. He's got that smooth whiskey/silky red wine voice, and I wish more people gave themselves a chance to appreciate a unique voice like his (100% /pos)

Getting into it, it was the lore, general vibes, and the drumming; I have been a ii girly from day 1 lol, he really is that special ingredient that makes the whole recipe come together. Once I was released from my Spiritbox phase, of course. Some newer followers may not know, but I'm a veteran Dream stan (not active at all right now, but the grind never truly stops) all the way back from 2020, peak DSMP. So I've always been a sucker for a good story in alternative mediums like that. The fandom is just the right balance of gay autistic nerd energy that I thrive in, so it felt really natural to find a home here 🩷

What inspired drawing them as cute cats?

I've always drawn them as cats. Save for like a few Human People here and there. My first fanart was my fandom newcomer's impression of Vessel, with little extra context, as a cryptid cat man lol. From there, it was shitposting about him as my fave cat memes, cat BTTV emotes, etc. I am very much a cat enjoyer, and just kinda stumbled into it being my "brand" purely from the love of it.

Also I find the cute kitties to be a little personally healing. Between uni, finally getting mental illness treatment, being in an abusive relationship and still recovering from the aftermath, etc etc, I lost a LOT of fundamental art skills. Like human body/facial anatomy because I was just too burnt out, busy, or depressed to draw. Cats make me happy, and cats are a little easier than people. So I can draw what I love while I try to heal and find those skills again.

If there was one thing you want people to know about you, what would it be?

Hmmm, trying to figure out how to word this lol. I think, overall, that I mean well with everything that I say and do. I fuck up sometimes with tone and/or assuming people know I'm being over the top or sarcastic. But I actively check myself before I post and make sure everything I put out into the world is in good faith.

For example, I'm faaaaar less horny on main than I portray myself—in fact, I'm actually a pretty committed Christian, so I'm not comfortable being 100% /srs horny on main even if I wanted to lol. I just find it fun to play up the rabid fangirl and go over the top with thirst tagging. I'll be real, they're fucking HOT lmaoooo, sue me. But any "sexualization" I do is always a bit, since I don't know these people and there's a veeeery slippery slope between gushing over hot guys and straight up objectification. If that makes sense.

OR, I also like insult-based affection for friends (eg. if you are friends with me you are a stupid idiot baby nerd and I love you). But my neurodivergent ass, similar to thirst posting, sometimes has a hard time reading the tone of the convo and can accidentally go a little far with things. I never ever want to hurt anyone, much less actually insult people I like!! So I wish I could organically give a disclaimer that it's all 100% out of love and to let me know if I missed the mark ;w;

Again, I really need to get around to actually watching RotI because the majority of my knowledge about the gen 2 cast is all fanon. I can't exactly ship scike when I don't even really know the characters themselves or their dynamic in the show (though your fanart has me supporting scike nation on the sidelines 👐).

I have no idea if it'd even be in character for Scott or Mike to act anything like the guys in the rice krispies fic do- it's barely in character in the fic itself, and even then a lot of Alejandro's personality is dramatized/flanderized for the sake of the plot.

(Then again, any 'dark' fic for Total Drama is always going to be a little OOC simply because of the serious undertones, but I digress.)

Though, the idea of Scott abusing his knowledge of Mike's DID and trying to use it as a bargaining chip/blackmail is interesting- maybe someone should write a fic exploring the concept? 🤔😏

the indomitable @fortunatetragedy tagged me on this baby while i was away and boy howdy do i love talking about my projects.

diving headfirst into The Singularity Project (codename: T.E.S. CO) for this one, babes.

What’s the first part of your WIP that you created?

The Vibes. Last October I was being harassed by a brain worm (lol) that did not want to become concrete in any way, and the only way I could get it down was by writing "the vibes" of what I wanted. Those vibes included "hazy 60s lounge", "synth", "Panos Cosmatos' style for weird ass stuff", and "burnt orange".

If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?

What Have You Become by MNQN, but more 80s-fied. And because I feel like it, it's end credits song would be I Remember by Tristam but like... slightly more melancholic.

What are your favorite characters that you made? Why?

So far, it'll have to be Verne. Neither hero or villain, he's the protagonist's father, and while he isn't physically in the story (as far as I can tell) he inescapably haunts the narrative. By "saving the world" the only way he thought possible, he doomed his son to a life no one deserves. He's also a silly guy who thinks himself a god (derogatory) and is wanted for several crimes against humanity. Second fave is Mike, our deuteragonist. He's just a guy trying to make a living but his work crush has been acting super weird by knocking back 20+ cans of soda per shift and claiming he can "hear the Mall speaking to him".

What other pieces of media do you think your fanbase would share?

Tumblrinas (affectionate, gender neutral) would probably also be reblogging some horror webseries things (SCP, The Walten Files, The Backrooms, etc), as well as more classic horror such as Re-Animator, The Thing, and The Fly.

What has been your biggest struggle with your WIP?

.......Yes. When the story started to form I struggled with the idea of capturing it in a single medium. I am first and foremost a writer, obvs, but a lot of the story relied heavily on visual storytelling. I eventually decided to turn this into a "multi-media project", which means there's a huge chunk of writing, but there are also segments that can only be experienced through audio and visuals (and maybe some fun ARG-esque puzzles). Three POVs? Each POV has its own timeline and its own medium? Did I embark on a multi-month journey to learn Blender and video editing? Am I still trying to get the story down? The answer is yes. (Help me.)

Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!

Yes. Mike has an anthill because it's the only thing he can keep alive.

How do your characters travel/get around?

In the 1911 portion? Via ship. Ernest Shackleton's ship on its voyage to the Antarctic, to be exact. In the 1981 portion? Via bus. Mike's too broke to afford a car. In the 2021 portion? Via car. [Cy] is the man with the plan... and also the car to drive his crew around.

What part of your WIP are you working on right now?

Mike's journals, which covers the events of 1981 through 1983. This part is the bulk of the entire project, and the part that is mostly told through writing.

What aspects (tropes, maybe?) will you think draw your audience in?

So many morally gray characters. But also morally corrupt characters. And morally confused characters.

I hope you like your monsters goopy, and your effects practical.

I've never written fanfic before, only OC writings, which you know abt ofc, and the fact that this is my FIRST ONE EVER and you made an animatic for it BEFORE CHAPTER 2 EVEN DROPPED?? Insane. I can't wrap my head around it. The fact that I was one chapter in and you and @bunchofdoodlesinspace already made fanart for the fic??? I shit you not, hugely responsible for me plotting out over 10 fucking chapters of this fic. I didn't expect to make this a long fic but here we are and I am OBSESSED with every part of it.

And ofc I'm gonna be the most vocal supporter of your art, I've watched you fucking BLOOM and then some over the what, 6 fucking years?? We've been friends. You're on a level I wanted to be at by now for as long as I can remember, so everything you make to me is breathtaking and I love how experimental you are with what you do because my dumb ass is SOOO annoyingly particular and precious about my art and it's a nightmare to put up with. Been a while since I invaded your inbox with the intention to feed your brain worms lol- ANYWAYS-

I'm not exactly sure if this will be entertainig enough to answer but I've been thinking of this concept for a while now and since I consume your takes on a daily basis, here I am presenting it to you. This involves both The Party and The Losers Club.

So I've been in love with MrHalloween's AU where Mike Wheeler has Pennywise's power and another artist or writer ( I cannot remember who they are and I am ashamed )'s AU where The Losers Club are all adopted by Pennywise for a very long time now and I really REALLY like those kinds of AUs. Now that got me thinking...

What power of Pennywise do you think suit each Party members? And why?

Like we- as in, the IT fandom- knows that Pennywise can do a lot of things. Expected since he's basically an eldritch horror. He can shapeshift, know your fear, control a whole ass town, can probably go toe to toe with Maturin, and he has the deadlights. So similar to Vecna's curse without the bones breaking and immediate death if not countered ASAP. Pennywise has a wide range of abilities that suits him and I am really curious of what you think each of the Party members would have if Pennywise gives them a portion of his abilities.

This ask is mildly inspired by the Mike fanart that I am currently sketching where he is surrounded by the deadlights and by the AU thay I shared to you back then where the Losers are Numbers and their abilities are their Neibolt selves.

So to answer this question it depends on how you're coming at It- literally. Like we know It is an alien but what's the classification of It beyond that? Humans tend to point at creatures that are below our 'intelligence' and call the creature an 'animal' but what do we call something that is obviously beyond our intelligence and even our understanding but it's not humanoid? This was not part of your question at all I'm sorry but this in itself is worth a conversation, I just love talking about the Dead Lights.

Because I believe It acts with animal characteristics, It only fights to ensure It's survival and It hunts 'weaker' prey- children. Yes I know it's bc their fear tastes better blah blah you know what I mean.

Back to your question at hand- for real this time:

To put it simply I don't think It could just give one specific power to each Party member if It turned them all into little Its, little deadlights so I'm going to have to give you a nonanswer.

Unless It was making Neilbolt versions of them but even then I don't think the Neilbolt versions get It's 'power' per say because technically they are still part of It as a whole.

I'll raise you this though Allen: the Party members having a handful It's power, becoming little deadlights. The reason why It did that is up to you, I'm speaking of all of this in a hypothetical.

So the Party members become little deadlights, maybe they favor certain aspects of the powers that come with that. Like I can see Mike really enjoying augmenting reality and manifesting anything at his whim. Lucas would enjoy the physical transformation aspect and Dustin would enjoy being able to get into people's heads in his quest for knowledge. Will would love having the ability to protect himself now (especially if this in an au where the UD is still a thing) and Max would love the ability to subtly control people. She could make sure no one like Billy could ever hurt someone again.

And El? This goes back to the 'is this au set in one where the UD is still a thing'. If Henry is a thing, El would make a deal with It to get It's power, albeit only a little of it, to take him down. She would make a deal with the devil. In fact- I think all of the Party would in a quest to protect the ones they love and there's you're motivation right there for the Party. Just need to decide what It gets out of this deal.

But here's the thing, if the Party essentially became little deadlights...would they need to feed on fear now? Feed on humans? Do they know about that before they make the deal?

BUTTT since you asked, I probably should list all the scars because. There are a lot. I always wished they had more visible aftermaths for injuries, esp Leo, but since this is my fic - I can do what it want (within reason lol)

Spoilers below for the fic and canon series and trigger warning for injuries/scars.

2012

Leo has the most noticable scaring out of all his brothers! There is deep gouge marks on his right knee, sort of all over the place and just messy in general and the knee is slightly misshapened (due to it being crushed and then stabbed multiple times). His plastron also has three gouge marks across it from Shredder's gauntlets and there is a tiny scar on his throat from his throat being crushed/cut. Not noticeable unless he lifts his head up to show it. He also has scarring on his right shoulder that looks like shark teeth from being bit there.

Raph's left eye is a few shades lighter than his right because he's blind there! He also has a small spiral scar on the right side of his temple just under his mask from the brain worm cutting into his skin. Another brain worm scar is on his wrists and ankles! He rubbed off a lot of skin while struggling in the restraints and it left a mark. He also has a lot of scars on his knuckles from busting them open during fights and when I imagine him/write him, where that chip in his shell is there is also a wide scar across his shoulder that attaches it to the chip in his carapace, like a follow through. As for post his attack from Shredder, part of his carapace and plastron are missing and the chips also spread out like cracks. There's two holes in total!

Donnie had more so burns than lashes! His hands and forearms are pretty discoloured from chemical and heat burns. Also electrical burns on his head from the fourfold trap episode! But his mask largely covers that. This is only noticeable if you stand close to him so doubtful it would be seen in any art, but he has thin scarring all across his body from April ripping him apart! Sort of spiderwebs around him. It will come up at some point, but right now it just isn't notable in the fic. And then he recently cut his thigh open on the glass at the end of frayed so he would still have stitches from that.

Mikey, before the events of the book, has a spiderweb crack on the back of his shell from the letter falling on him from season one. And then he has a canine bite on his left arm from Rahzar. I just assumed his brothers were so focused on protecting him that he rarely got scarred since in my watch throughs, he got majorly hurt the least? Less visible scarring from shackles compared to Raph, but he still has some too. After... that chapter though??? Oh boy. With the bandages off, Mikey is now missing his right eye completely and the wound is scarred over. His shell is slightly cracked and the back of his thighs have minor scars as well. Bruising all over. Not having a good time rn.

Rise

Just because I'm already doing 2012, here are Rise as well! They have less scars to show they have had less battles and because like 2012 Donnie pointed out - they heal a lot faster so most of the listed marks are quite faint unless they are major/recurrent or you are really looking closely

Leo has small knicks on his shoulders from his odaci and katannas! He was clumsy with pulling them out and they left marks until he got more skilled. He also has scarring on his right wrist from the cuffs in season two. He was pulling and yanking on that thing like crazy. Scarring on his right knee now from Shredder slamming his gauntlet into his knee at the end of frayed and minor slashes from breaking through that window and cutting up his skin.

Raph has three slash marks at the top of his shell from defending Donnie from Shredder and it's slightly indented by Shredder stepping on it. His fists are also heavily scarred and his knuckles are constantly swollen and misshapened.

Donnie has slash marks on his soft shell from Shredder ripping into his battle shell and reaching his soft shell. He also has some burn and chemical scars from his lab and down the center of his plastron is a thin line from when SHELLDON tried to kill him and minor shackle marks on his wrists and ankles.

Mikey has a ton of tiny scars, mainly from skidding across the ground and cutting himself on glass/sharpnel. His shell is significantly scratched up from sliding against the ground as well/being thrown around.

I think that WORM amy dallon is Not That Bad at least comparatively. her powers forced far more responsibility on her than any teen person should have to deal with. most people cannot accidentally rewire someone's brain or turn someone into a horrible flesh monster. she mindraped her sister and that is awful and terrible but she didn't do it because she was a malicious person, amy did it because she was confused scared and probably in the middle of a psychotic break and then sent herself to the most dangerous person in the world because of how bad she felt about it.
