A take on R-18 content of Yuzuki Yukari

So in that one blog I made about the four main types of fanart of Yukari, I mentioned that I'm not a fan of the erotic ones, and I thought it'd be nice to make things clear.

I'm not against lewd stuff of Yukari, in fact, some of my favorite artists, songs and covers have suggestive and lewd stuff with Yukari.

The reason I said that was because I don't like the way they're done, I find some R-18 content (not just of yukari) to be very objectifying and over the top, what I mean is that for example having said character in an unatural position or has unatural proportions, usually for the male gaze.

This problem is not at all unique to Yukari, far from it, I've seen it with almost every anime or cartoon girl.

I also wanted to mention that lately there has been people infantilizing adult character who are either, short, have "cute" features (big eyes, cute hairstyles, ect), smaller chests, have neurodivergent traits, or just in general not being society's definition of what they think makes people adults (liking cute stuff, being carefree, ect).

And while I haven't seen people consider Yukari as being "child coded" I have seen people age her down, or have thought that she was 12-15 (I'm kinda concerned for whoever thought that cause like what?), despite her actually being 18.

Now there's some debate about the whole vocaloid canon age thing, and I'm not against anyone who choses to age up or down vocaloids, but it is something I have noticed, because most people will age up Hatsune Miku or Megurine Luka, but then age down Yuzuki Yukari, but why?

Well about what I mentioned about adult characters that get infantillized, Yukari has a small chest, she wears a bunny hoodie, she has twintails (that are actually sidelocks), her dress has ruffles, she has been potrayed as liking "childlike" things (stuffed bunnies, minecraft, ect), all of which aren't seen as typical adult things

And no, I am not acusing anyone who ages down Yukari of infantilizing her, the reason why I'm bringing up this topîc is because I've seen people claim that you shouldn't be making any R-18 stuff of said adult character because they "look like a child" or are "child coded, I've seen it happen with Super Sonico and other cutesy anime characters, and I'm a little afraid of this happening to Yukari some day.

Not to mention the whole "your brain isn't fully devoloped until age 25" myth going around but that's another can of worms

Conclusion, do whatever you want with Yuzuki Yukari, if you wanna draw suggestive of lewd art of her, go ahead, If you personally view Yukari as being a teenager and wanna potray her that way, go ahead, the only Vocaloids I am truly against sexualizing are ones that are voiced by actual children (Kaai Yuki for example), but otherwise, do whatever.

every competitor has to be submitted by a user to be counted. no matter how often you think others have submitted a popular producer, they need YOU to get into the bracket! submitting several producers is allowed and highly encouraged!!

edit: if a producer is submitted over 5 times, no future propaganda or songs will be put on the polls. if a piece of propaganda is particularly well-written, it may go in the replies of the polls!! ill reply to this post when a producer gets 5 submissions :]

propaganda is not required, but having it makes the competition more fun for everyone involved so i definitely recommend coming up with some. it doesn't have to be elaborate or anything, just say why you like the music or think they're important!! silly propaganda is also fun to have >:3

lastly, note that since every producer is user-submitted, their personal views do not reflect the views of me, participating users, or the greater vocaloid community. this competition is strictly for fun and is not meant to start real moral or political discourse. it is based on views of their impact on the community, not who they are as people.

idk if any vocaloid producers or users will see this but if you do: are previous Vocaloid editors like Vocaloid5 or Vocaloid4 still available, or would I have to buy Vocaloid6? I’ve been considering getting v4flower just in case she becomes unavailable in the future because she’s my favorite voice bank, and I think it’d be fun to play around with her, but I haven’t been able to find any helpful information about whether previous Vocaloid editors are still available, and, if not, what other editors she’s compatible with. any help is appreciated!!
