left ✧ tsukishima kei x fem!reader ✧ fluff ending
note: uhh i originally had a different idea for this one, but then art block kicked in and i couldn’t find a way to end it how i wanted to, so, for the life of me, i changed it and this is the result. it’s kinda bland but i thought the idea was nice although clichè.
tw: period cramps, r! throwing up.

“kyoko is right.” said tsukishima in a low voice, so that only you could hear. confused, you turn your head to him, inquisitive stare seeking for his amber eyes.
he had his cheek resting on the palm of his hand, not really returning your stare, rather glancing at his plate, with a neutral expression that had a shade of dreaminess in it you weren’t sure you’ve ever seen before.
he seemed to be spacing out, actually.
“what was that?” you questioned, although having heard just fine his previous statement, stealing a forkful of pasta from his plate to get him to pay attention to you.
a subtle smile made its way across tsukki’s thin lips at your gesture.
“i said that kyoko’s right.” he repeated, eyes finally reciprocating yours, no shame in his apparently sincere compliment.
it wasn’t a tease, nor a joke. his voice was genuine, to your surprise.
“what do you mean?”
you knew. you knew what he meant, and he knew that you knew. yet, you wanted to hear him say it. to hear those sweet words, that never came out of his mouth, from him.
“you look gorgeous.” he admitted as if it was the easiest thing to say, as if that was the most obvious thing in the world, going with his fork to steal one of your french fries, mimicking your previous playful deed. though you didn’t even notice.
you had your eyes locked on his, shifting from his right to his left, too busy processing what you’ve just been told.
“oh,” you let out a nervous cackle, “thank you.” flashing him a timid smile. he responded with a simple nod, that subtle smile lingering on his lips as he did.
“sure but, don’t look at me like that.” abruptly, he added.
“like what?” you tilted your head.
“like i’m never nice.”
“would it be a lie?” you snorted, eyeing him from head to toe.
“yes. a blatant one.” unfazed, he responded.
“uh,” you lift your eyebrows at his words, “excuse me?” shock painting your traits, as you go to fill your glass with the water the waiter just brought to the table.
“wasn’t i lovey-dovey enough yesterday?” chuckling, he watches as you almost choke on your drink, coughing the life out of your lungs.
you keep coughing into your palm for a good moment, after having sent him a kick with the tip of your shoe on his calf from under the table, peering around you to make sure your friends hadn’t heard kei’s last sentence.
too bad you’re met by kyoko’s interested stare; when you make eye contact, it’s like you’ve seen a ghost.
“what happened yesterday?” she curiously wonders out loud. although her angelic face, you recognize those sly eyes.
“nothing,” you laugh, not helping the a little too high pitched tone, “he just dropped a couple books at my house, to, uh–” that would always kicks in when searching for a decent lie to tell.
“–to hand them back. i borrowed them from y/n over a month ago, but forgot to return them.” tsukishima chimed in at the pathetic sight of your struggling figure, being the good actor he’d always been.
“sure.” kyoko’s smile spoke volumes, however she simply accepted your response, leaving you alone... without flashing you a knowing smirk beforehand, though.
swallowing a pool of saliva formed in your mouth, you cleared your throat, detaching your gaze from her, your bashful face glancing at your empty plate.
quietly, you go back to eavesdropping the others’ conversations, finding yourself eventually joining yachi’s jokes after sharing laughters with tadashi and her.
and it went on like that for a good while.
until you felt a sudden, stinging pain in your stomach that made you drop the fork in your hand. nonody noticed you going silent at first, nobody except him.
“you good?” his brows furrow the more the time passes, seeing no response coming from you. “i–” your arm goes to cover your stomach, but the pain is so strong you can’t even speak to explain.
abruptly, you jump up, unable to bear it any longer.
it wasn’t a bellyache from something you’ve eaten, you’d recognize those awful cramps from a mile.
without being able to alert anyone, you dragged your feet towards the restroom, closing the door behind you and letting out a groan as shimizu’s voice spoke from afar.
“y/n? are you okay?”
you ignore her, too busy hastily rummaging into your purse for your portable meds’ box as kyoko’s steps approach you, but when you open it, you remember that you hadn’t taken any pill with you for period cramps from home.
“ow—” you cry, the pain bending you, making you kneel down on the bathroom floor. “hey, hey-” kyoko spoke, laying a hand over your shoulder. “what’s wrong?” she asks, her hand traveling on your back to caress it in slow movements.
“do you have anything for cramps?” with tight teeth, you fight the nausea that threaten to make you throw up at any given second.
shimizu’s features softened at your request, wordlessly realizing the issue. “i think i do,” she begins, “i’ll go back where i left my purse to search it up, okay?” she continues. “i’ll be right back.”
you nod, and as quickly as she came, she was gone, leaving you alone with your aching lowerbelly.
you cursed yourself for your oversight, swallowing several times as to try not to actually vomit, when you hear another voice speak from behind the door.
“are you there?” kei’s knuckles knock on the door.
your voice trembles slightly, “yeah.”
he opens the door of a couple inches, his head sticking in to take a look at you. “come in,” you say, gesturing at him.
“um, are you sure i can...?” he doubts, eyeing the women sign glued on the door.
“oh, who cares!” you exclaim, before letting out another groan, closing your eyes in pain. you crouch into yourself further, as if that was somehow gonna relief that unbearable discomfort.
the door closes. his frame sits next to you the second later, so close to you that your shoulders are touching.
“i saw kyoko running back to the table, i figured she anticipated me.” he talks softly, his calmness somewhat comforting. “what happened?”
“just my period.” you lay your head against the cold tiles of the room, huffing and puffing as you tried to regulate your breathing. failing.
“is it that bad?” his face tilts slightly, glancing over every inch of your grimace. “what do you think, sherlock?” you turn your face on the opposite direction, avoiding his eyes as to not be seen like that.
“sorry,” he timidly apologizes, slapping a sense of guilt into your guts for giving him an uncalled for attitude.
“no–” you shake your head, “i’m sorry.” you sigh. “it’s just that it hurts so bad.”
the door pushes open once more, this time hitoka is behind it.
“oh,” yachi takes a step back, “did i interrupt something?” her squeaky tone makes you smile. “no.” you flash her a weak smile.
“i came in to tell you that kyoko doesn’t have anything for you, she told me... and neither do i.” her hands fidget with the little bows of her dress. “do you wanna go home? we will pay for your part.” her displeased face touched your heart.
however tsukki didn’t allow you to choose.
“i’ll pay for it and get her home, you girls don’t worry. i’ll take care of it.” he gets up from his spot. “go tell the others we’re leaving, please.”
his request meets a nodding yachi, that wastes no time heading back to your friends.
“here,” he lends you his hands, “hop.” he says as he helps you get on your feet.
“you really don’t have to, i ca-” you begin, “y/n, darling, spare me the “i can do it myself” speech for another day, okay?”
you try to rebut, “but, really, i can do this myself.”
“yeah, yeah. you’re an independent, strong, woman. i know. we all know. now let me help you.” he says, taking your hand into his, his warm skin pleasing to the touch.
although the nausea and the hammering pain in your womb, you can’t help but chuckle at his statement. “thank you.” you whisper, going on your tippy toes to print a phantom kiss on his cheek.
tsukishima paid for your and his part as he said, before giving a quick wave at the table where the others were still dining cheerfully, tossing on his shoulders his thick coat and opening the door of the restaurant for you and himself.
you and him walked out of the building, the freezing, nightly, dicember air hitting your skin like a whiplash, making your aching worsen immediately.
“shit,” you whine, his arm going around your waist, pulling you closer to him. “resist. we’ll be home before you notice.” he comforts, your frames starting to walk down the street hand in hand.
half an hour later, you’re finally home.
your face is sloped over the toilet, puking every single thing you’ve eaten. tsukki’s behind you, although your protests of not needing him to, holding your hair out of your face.
the cold hadn’t really helped, and your walk was terrible to say the mere least. you felt as if you were fucking dying.
“i’ll go make you something warm.” he offers, to which you jerk your face in his direction, tears in your glassy eyes, heavy breathing. “what?! no! i’ll throw that up as well!”
“okay! okay. what do you want me to do?” asks his intimidated self, “go grab my hot water bottle and fill it, please.” you command, rather desperately.
just like that, he goes upstairs, in your bedroom, taking a hot minute to find the needed object, that was buried between your peluches and covers.
you hear a bunch of rustling, then his steps descending the stairs, walking into the kitchen, taking out a small saucepan.
after another five minutes, his figure appears back into the bathroom, where your poor self had been sitting, sore.
“there.” he says, handing you the thing.
you grab it, laying your back against the wall and pressing the water bag against your abdomen so hard you almost burn your skin. “thanks.” you murmur.
“you think you can take the medicine now?” his finger goes to softly stroke your cheek, giving you a compassionate stare.
“yes...” you glance inside the toilet you just flushed, that erased all the gross shit that previously was there. “i think i’m done with it, if life wants to give me a break.”
“wanna go lay down?” he asks, the softness in his voice giving you sweet goosebumps. “are you gonna leave if i do?”
“wha- no. why would i?” his eyebrows jump slightly.
“i don’t know. just a feeling.” you look down, at your feet.
“i mean, if you want me to leave, i’ll leav-”
“don’t.” your hand goes over his. his fingers move under yours, bringing your hand to his lips. “okay.” before kissing its back.
“..stay for the night.” you move your head towards him, resting your forehead against his. “please.”
his face colored of a deep bordeaux.
“are you sure?” he questions. “mhm.” you hum.
you were left alone in the bathroom as he went to his house to quickly change into cozy clothes. you took the time to take your medicine, a short shower to get the smell off of you and brush your teeth– which you definitely needed as well.
just as you got out of the bathroom in your freshly washed pajama, he entered your place again, this time with flannel pants and a purple sweatshirt, that had a little yellow moon at its upper right.
“have you told your mom you’re staying here for the night? asking that for the sake of your ears, you know...” you joke, noticing, as you did, that your pain as already significantly lowered.
“ha-ha.” he sarcastically laughs at your joke, “don’t worry about that.”
you chuckled, the both of you walking upstairs into your room. “how’s your..?” he begins.
“good. thank you again, for... you know. everything.” you smile, entering your bedroom with him following.
“anytime, pipsqueak.”
you’ve turned on your pc, posing it on the bed, as he took out of your closet another pillow and a couple more fluffy blankets, in that room he’s been in so many times before.
he crawls up your bed, after having added all the necessities, before laying on top of your pillows and playing with one of your peluche.
precisely, the little t-rex he gifted you for your birthday when you were kids. which reminded you...
“oh!” you exclaim, making him jump upright. “what?” he asks, searching for any sign of pain on your face.
“i,” you blush. “i bought you something.”
he lets out a relieved sigh, “god, you scared me.” that quickly shifts into curiosity, though. “what is it?”
you clumsily slip out of your bed, running downstairs, where you left your purse. you grab it, going back to him.
the old woman at the shop had wrapped it up in christmas themed paper, with a red bow on top.
“before you say anything, i know it’s dumb.” you look away, stretching your arm out to him, with the thing in your hand. “i just... i don’t know. it made me think of you when i saw it, so i got it.”
he quietly grabs the object from you, unwrapping it. his expression remains impassive, which makes you nervous.
more than what you already are. “i got one for me too- a matching one.” you stutter mildly, taking out your own brown little bear.
when you go back to watch his face, you found him already looking at you. actually he keeps going back and forth to you and the white bear in his hand.
“you can give it back if you don’t like it.” you close your hand into a fist, hiding your bear in it, your cheeks darkening as you watch him get up from your bed. “tsukki?” you ask.
his arms wrap around your waist, lifting you up, mouth catching yours into a kiss. you tense up before realizing his gesture, loosing up and kissing him back, wrapping your arms around his neck and your legs around his waist.
it’s the sweetest kiss you’ve ever received. nothing compared to the passionate one he gave you yesterday, no, it was... so tender. so delicate.
he wasn’t using his tongue, he simply pressured your lips with his. again, and again. until finally stopping to look at you.
he sat down, you on his lap, watching you with an adoring gaze that made your breath cut short. “i love it so much. thank you, it’s adorable.” he goes to kiss you one more time. “and...” he whispers into your ear, “i’ve actually bought something for you too.”
“really?” your eyes lighten up at his words, a wave of excitement crushing your heart. “yes.” he chuckles.
“what is it?” you ask, making yourself more comfortable on his lap, resting your hands on his broad shoulders.
“just a pair of earrings. i... don’t really know your taste, but i thought of you when i saw them, so i just got them, like you.”
your heart fastened at his words, a smile painting your face from ear to ear. “can i see them?”
“no. not tonight.” he says, making your excitement drop into disappointment. seeing the change of your traits, he pulls you closer to him, kissing the corner of your mouth.
“don’t be sad. i took them home when i went to change. i’ll show you tomorrow, promise.” he nuzzles his face against your neck, occasionally kissing it, making those goosebumps persist on your skin.
“okay.” you smile, running your fingers through his short, golden hair.
a couple minutes later, you were laying back on the bed. you had the pc on your lap, as he kept watching and watching the bear you just gifted him. “so,” he starts. “which movie are we watching?”
“my little pony equestria girls.” you deadpan, holding in the urge to turn and see his expression.
“no way, how did you know it’s my favorite?” he exclaims with irony, making you burst out laughing wholeheartedly.
“no, seriously though, which movie did you pick?”
“i haven’t picked one yet. i’ll let you do that.” you say, putting the laptop on his lap, going to lay next to him. “how do you wanna call your bear?”
“nice.” he smiles, as you guys fix your positions on the bed, your head going to rest on his shoulder as he bring the blankets over your bodies, fuzzy socks on your feet and a couple more peluches around the two of you. “pipsqueak seems appropriate. small, annoying. like you.” he says.
“what do you think?” he questions.
“i’m not annoying. be sweet for once.” you pinch his hip. “okay. i’ll figure out a kinder nickname.” he sighs, rolling his eyes with fake annoyance, although his smile betrayed him.
eventually, he picked his movie, series actually, something you’ve never heard of before, but that was quite his style.
the lights were now turned off, your hot water bag had gotten cold, but you didn’t need it anymore. tsukishima was a good substitute.
your eyes were slowly closing themselves as your hand caressed his chest, head under his chin, which he’d occasionally kiss, caressing your body in such loving way you felt like you were dreaming awake.
after all that’s happened between you and him, this moment was the last way you’d thought your relationship with this guy could turn into.
you weren’t complaining of course.
“tsukki,” you called, “are you asleep?” whispering.
silence. you moved your head slightly upwards, trying to take a look at his face. you couldn’t see much with only the pc screen’s light, yet his eyes seemed to be closed.
he looked so beautiful, an angelic, sleeping lamb.
his breathing was also slower. you watched as his chest rised and fell.
he must’ve been asleep.
“i love you.”
you confessed, closing the pc and going back to nuzzle your face against him, covering your bodies under the amount of blankets, ready to finally join him.
your relaxed face goes back into a smile, though, when you hear him whisper back,
“me too.”

Makoto enters the Neo World Program to help with the shutdown sequence, but to his surprise, he doesn't find himself in the trial room.
He finds himself on the beach, in the simulation's normal map. The original map, before Junko's twisted Funhouse and her Titty Typhoon and all her other contributions. He was even dressed for the beach, in a tank top and swim trunks.
(Back in the trial room, Junko stops in the middle of some great exposition and exclaims, "OMG, finally! Later, chumps! Sit and spin, or whatever," and she disappears, leaving them confused.)
Makoto feels that she's there. He doesn't have to turn around, but he does, only to get glomped in an unnecessarily tight hug.
"You made it," Junko('s AI) coos. "It felt like I was waiting forever. Did you let me play with those chumps because you were scared to see me?"
He sighs. He kind of knew that he wouldn't have much control over what happened once he was in the simulation, but the fact that he hasn't joined the surviving Remnants as intended is a bad sign. "Get off."
"Oooh, so forward!"
"Get off me, Junko."
She takes a few steps back, eyeing him up like she's taking inventory of his limbs.
"What happened to the trial? What's happening to them, while I'm here?"
"Who knows? Who cares? You didn't actually think this was about them, did you?"
"It is, for me."
"Not even that. Come on, those nutty senpais of ours were always just dolls. They're proxies. How about you put on your big boy pants, instead of wetting them, and talk to me directly."
"They're not dolls, and you're not her. She's dead."
"But I'm like her. Aren't I?" She traipses up to him again, trailing her nails lightly over his skin. "Aren't I enough like her?"
She looks completely real. The details of her skin, her eyes, are exactly the same. Her hair is frizzing from the spray of the sea. She's wearing a bathing suit, too. The top piece laces at the shoulders; it's tied into a bow on one side, but on the other it's just a knot. Imperfection. Realism. The placement of the sun directs his gaze to her, and her shadow snakes across the sand.
The sand feels real.
"This is cheating. You didn't win the trial. You haven't earned this. If you don't play fairly, you're admitting that they can beat you if you give-"
"Yawn! You're taking a leaf out of Kyoko's book. We already did this 'I owe you a trial' thing. Take a load off. We're one-one right now. You beat me once, I beat you once. Let's take a walk."
Makoto almost argues, but then he remembers the ancient ruins on the second island and considers that he might be able to get out through there. "Fine. Let's take a walk."
"Yay!" Junko bounces up and down, and he quickly looks away. "I just love this map. As soon as Kamukura plugged me in, I could just smell your nasty little hope-hands all over this thing. Did you notice, I kept all of your ideas in my version of the map, in some form or another."
Makoto starts walking toward the bridge. He did notice that the places that were removed or walled off wholesale were ones that were thought up by other people. He assumed it was a coincidence. After all, how would Junko know which ideas were his? "I'm glad they got to ride the rollercoaster. It looked like they had fun."
"Like we did."
He remembers that class trip. "Yeah. We did."
"Tampering with your map was more fun than this whole killing game. It was like we were making a baby together."
"N-No it wasn't."
"You planted the seed, and I-"
"Nope. I'm walking faster now." He power walks across the bridge.
"Oh no," Junko deadpans, remaining a step behind him. "Your legs. So long."

One to One: John & Yoko Thoughts
Overall I really enjoyed this documentary! The style was very engaging and it did a good job of painting a picture of the various political causes John and Yoko threw themselves behind during their first two years of living in NYC. Plus, I'm pretty sure there's some genuinely new footage in it? If not, at least I had never come across it, so it's not widely shared.
The documentary is mostly sympathetic towards them as activist figures, but I like the nuance the framing device of television brings with it: through presenting the various issues of the world as snippets one might zip through while changing channels (often cut-off before you can fully take in what's going on and sandwiched between daytime television fluff and relentless advertisements) there's a subtle question being posed concerning how much John and Yoko really understood the causes they were advocating for, without resorting to pure hindsight-steeped condescencion. Conversely, the stylistic choice also helps the viewer understand the unbridled distress they must have felt about the state of the world they were in. I also enjoyed the more lighthearted moments that made them both more personable and let them exist outside these activist roles.
I'm also compelled by the time spent dwelling on the loss of Kyoko. It's a short sequence but distinctly highlighted, and a part of me wonders if the doc in some form is suggesting that John and Yoko threw themselves behind these causes to fill the void of the family they tried and failed to have. There is also a mention of Yoko's miscarriages and Sean's birth is given a lot of prominence in the final sequences as well as Yoko's 1994 reunion with Kyoko. This would to some extent recontextualize the specific motivation for the One To One concert, as an act of solidarity with more or less abandoned children. I'm not sure to what extent I agree with that notion, and it's definitely only one of many factors (for one, as the footage itself shows, John and Yoko's activism predates the loss of Kyoko), but I had never thought of it that way before and will continue pondering it. I was also, while watching, a bit confused what the point of the primal and "Mother" sequence was, because I didn't see what retreading John's childhood trauma really added to this particular documentary, but this lens of (failed) parenthood actually gives a lot of dimension to that slightly worn-out story.
Even if this framing isn't all that accurate, it might be revealing of Sean's influence on the documentary that his parents are framed this way.
The whole thing sometimes heavily leans on the Ballad narrative, especially in the way it completely side-steps the Lost Weekend that follows directly after the period covered, but it doesn't stoop to falsehoods to paint that picture and spends minimal time on the Beatles (and their break-up).
I'd recommend this documentary for its execution alone, but I also think most people will come away from it having learned something new!

Scene Zero for Dummies
I'm going to be a martyr and list out all the important plot beats for scene zero so that no one else has to slog through it like me. Let's goooo
Scene 1
Mabayu loves movies, is bad at socialising and lying, is most likely autistic, very lazy and works at her aunt's - Sakie - cafe. She's a year above most of the girls at school, in Mami's year.
While watching a movie, time pauses because of Homura and Mabayu gets paused too. She can resume the paused TV when she touches it.
Time pauses at school for her and she uses this time to copy a students answers during a test.
Mabayu sees Kyubey outside but Sakie doesn't see them, thinking she saw Amy. A cat that visits outside the cafe regularly.
Mabayu has a soul gem ring but doesn't remember where she got it from. She has no idea she is currently a magical girl.
At the cafe Mabayu gets a sudden vision of Amy getting hit by a car. She goes outside and sees it happened and Madoka is crying over her. Madoka and Sakie go to the vet with Amy while Mabayu looks after the cafe.
Amy suddenly gets better at the vet with the vets declaring it a miracle. This was because Madoka made her wish to save Amy.
The school goes on an annual visit to an auto plant (what a lame school trip huh). Mabayu accidentally wanders into a witch's labyrinth but Mami pulls her out with her ribbons.
Meanwhile, parts of episode 10 are happening during this. Homura is in her second loop. Eg. tells Madoka in class she's a magical girl too. Homura actually tells Mami and Madoka about her wish and being from the future here but the two have a hard time believing it.
Homura struggles fighting witches so Mami actually gives her a book on how to make explosives (guess she didnt look it up online this time eh?)
Mabayu follows Mami after being curious of her being a magical girl (she still doesn't know about them) but Mami acts weirdly saying she'll kill her (I have no idea why this is so out of character). Mabayu runs away in fear into a Bartels barrier and it kills her and later Mami (sigh)
Episode 10 plays out where Madoka becomes Kriemhild and Homura finds out about witches
Film 2
Mabayu is surprised to wake up at the beginning of the loop and thinks everything was a dream.
Kyubey finally approaches Mabayu saying they've already made a contract with Mabayu.
The Amy incident happens just the same as last time as Mabayu forgets to interfere.
Meanwhile, Homura is unsure about sharing the truth with others.
Mabayu uses her magic at school. She can turn invisible in her magi form by bending light. Her magic can also let her hear conversations from a way away as well as basically zoom in in real life.
She spies on Madoka and Mami in Mami's apartment. Homura enters, telling them not to listen to Kyubey but doesn't elaborate as she doesn't think they're ready yet.
Mabayu wants to find Homura's address at school so she can meet her but cannot find it in the staff room.
At the auto plant visit, Madoka and Homura fight the witch with Homura finally explaining her past. (but not the truth about witches) Madoka is fine with this, trusting Homura. Homura isn't ready to tell Mami yet.
Kyubey makes contact with Sayaka but she is dissuaded from contracting by Homura.
Sayaka knows about Madoka being a magical girl and is a little jealous she's so amazing. The scene with Kyosuke plays out ala episode 4 and she is swayed to contract.
Homura encounters Elly similar to Madoka in episode 4 and Sayaka saves her.
Madoka, Sayaka and Homura find Anja and Kyoko interrupts like in episode 5. Sayaka is suspicious that Homura knows Kyoko's name but is hesitant about telling Sayaka the truth.
Ala episode 10, Homura meets with everyone to tell them the truth. She tells them about witches but Mami and Sayaka don't fully trust her.
At the hospital, Sayaka wants to visit Kyosuke but Hitomi is already there. She overhears him saying he thinks Hitomi's visits are what cured his hand and Sayaka is very upset.
Sayaka's suffering arc plays out with it ending in Mami's breakdown.
Madoka and Homura fight Walpurgis with it ending in Homura killing Madoka before she can become Kriemhild. Mabayu resets along with Homura.
Film 3
Homura becomes coolTM
Homura shoots Kyubey outside Madoka's home, believing them to be dead now.
At home, Homura realises she can't tell the truth to anyone and will kill Walpurgis on her own. Mabayu arrives in her home, telling her Kyubey isn't dead.
The girls are two late and Madoka saves Amy, becoming a magical girl.
Homura is mad at Mabayu for spying on her and Mabayu gets nervous, running away.
Madoka is fighting the Minotaur witch at the auto plant but is struggling. Mabayu tries to help, using her weapon for the first time.
Homura stops time, stepping in. Mabayu is shocked Homura was going to abandon this Madoka just because she's contracted. Homura explains she doesn't want to connect to Madoka to feel the pain all over again because she knows she'll have to reset eventually in this loop.
Mabayu has a future vision. This shows that Homura can win but Mabayu will die. Knowing this is the best outcome, she goes along with it, dying.
Mami rushes over, upset at Mabayu's death. She later dies by Charlotte despite Madoka's warning. The two fight Walpurgis but fail.
Film 4
Mabayu visits Homura and both of them remember the last loop. She is at first rude but soon thanks Mabayu for sacrificing herself for the best outcome.
The two team up with Homura killing Kyubey outside Madoka's home again.
Kyubey visits Mabayu at home but she plays dumb, pretending to not understand them. She makes up a warning that if Kyubey tries to make Madoka contract something terrible will happen.
Meanwhile, Homura deals with Mami by making a truce. She'll tell her where witches will appear with her past knowledge so that she won't make any other girls contract.
Mabayu and Homura discover that the car that hits Amy was caused by a witch so they find the cause, defeating a familiar.
At the auto plant, Mabayu manages to stop Madoka and Sayaka from falling into the witch's barrier by helping them find the exit. Mabayu and Homura successfully fell the witch.
Unfortunately, Kyubey manages to meet Madoka and Sayaka, talking to them.
Kyubey tells Mami about these new candidates but since she made a deal with Homura she refuses.
Mabayu and Homura deal with Gertrud but Sayaka is injured in the crossfire. Homura uses this to warn Madoka from contracting as its dangerous.
Madoka approaches Homura and Mabayu, asking about magical girls. She is sad about Homura fighting alone and wants to help but Homura tells her adamantly not to.
Mabayu is worried that if Homura keeps telling Madoka about the danger of being a magical girl, she'll just want to help Homura more. Mabayu suggests they emphasise the fact she will no longer be human. Homura wonders if telling her the truth will help.
Madoka gets lost in Charlotte's labyrinth at the hospital. Homura decides to tell Madoka the truth about witches. Madoka then makes a wish to save Charlotte from despair, creating a strangely coloured Nagisa.
The girls then have to look after Nagisa who acts similarly to usual but more childishly. The group think that they can deal with Nagisa by fulfilling her wish.
Nagisa has nightmares of killing Mami as Charlotte and begins to think she's not a good person. She goes on a rampage, killing witches as well as Kyoko.
This film explains Mabayu's mother's backstory. She had a future vision that was never wrong but one day saw that she was going to die of illness and it broke her. She became a different person, begging no one to approach her in hospital.
Seeing no option to save Nagisa, Mabayu uses her magic to alter her memories. She cuts it like a film, removing her memories of killing Mami and Kyoko.
Nagisa gets a cheesecake baked by Sakie.
The girls fight Walpurgis and Nagisa is finally at peace so disappears. Homura resets
Film 5
Homura states they cannot let Madoka know about witches as they'll have another mess like Nagisa to deal with.
At the auto plant, Mabayu helps out Madoka and Sayaka again. Homura freezes time and kills Kyubey so that they cannot talk to Madoka and Sayaka.
Homura has sent Mami to another city so that she's out of their hair.
Mabayu is tasked with stalling Madoka and Sayaka from running into a witch at the mall but she's nervous about talking to them. Mabayu decides to ask Sayaka if she wants to work at her aunt's cafe.
Sayaka asks Mabayu why she wanted to hire her for work. Mabayu states she knows she collects DVDs but Sayaka is suspicious of how she knows so. Mabayu tries to lie but Sayaka sees right through her.
Kyubey tries to contact Sayaka to contract but she doesn't understand what they're saying.
Homura defeats Charlotte in the hospital. Kyubey appears and Mabayu uses a borrowed gun to kill them, masking it in the public space as a fire extinguisher going off.
Mabayu discovers that Madoka and Sayaka visited the hospital to see Kyosuke. Both Mabayu and Homura were unaware of him before now.
Homura asks Mabayu to see into the future but in it Sayaka has contracted. Homura realised she overlooked Sayaka while focusing on Madoka.
Homura is mad at Sayaka so prepares to fight her however Mabayu butts in. She doesn't want Sayaka to get hurt so asks Homura to let her deal with Sayaka instead. She plans on becoming her friend so she won't turn into a witch or have a bad effect on Madoka.
Kyoko doesn't interfere with Sayaka as she doesn't visit Mitakihara in this timeline.
Mabayu continues to fail at becoming closer friends with Sayaka as she's too bad at conversations. She's also put off by the fact she thinks of herself more as a senpai (an older classmate) than a friend.
Sayaka later fights Elsa Maria with Homura aiding. She is mad at Homura and an incident makes Mabayu appear where she was previously invisible. Sayaka is mad that Mabayu was working with Homura all along. The three tussle but oh what a surprise, Madoka contracts to make Sayaka no depress any more wow
Madoka and Sayaka fight Walpurgisnacht but fail, Homura resetting time.
Film 6
Mabayu apologises for messing up but Homura is fine with it since they learnt a lot. She honestly doesn't want to kill Sayaka at the end of the day.
Mabayu hires Sayaka again but this time knows her better, pointing out her love of classical music.
Sayaka discovers Mabayu is a magical girl but the two seem on good terms about it. Mabayu explains what she can remember of her wish (as it is still unknown to her) and that it was a wish for another person.
Kyosuke's tantrum from episode 4 plays out as Mabayu watches in hiding.
Sayaka is about to make her wish but Mabayu intervenes. She tries to dissuade her but fails.
Mabayu and Sayaka go witch hunting together. Mabayu chooses a song for Sayaka to fight to which apparently improves her strength.
Mabayu spies on Hitomi and Sayaka having their conversation like in episode 7. Mabayu is unsure how to cheer Sayaka up from this.
Sayaka asks Mabayu if she can see into the future about Hitomi's confession but backpedals, losing confidence. Mabayu hopes Sayaka will confess instead.
Sayaka seemingly decides to confess but Kyubey tells her she's no longer human and loses her resolve.
Sayaka faces Elsa Maria like usual.
Sayaka skips school the next day and later is found on the Soul-gem-throwing-bridge and does the deed herself. Unfortunately, this hustle makes Madoka contract whoops (she's really an idiot in scene zero huh)
Reset time whee
Film 7
Mabayu decides against letting Sayaka contract this time.
Mabayu pretends she has fortune telling abilities, trying to dissuade Sayaka from thinking about a contract and suggests maybe raising money for surgery for him instead.
Mabayu fucks up and Sayaka contracts anyway wow
Homura realises that Sayaka absolutely can't contract because clearly she's a fucking idiot
Madoka becomes a magical girl for Sayaka NEXT
Film 8
After Sayaka has the Kyosuke incident of 2011, Mabayu decides to cut her memories of it. She reveals that the target has to be thinking of the memories in order for her to cut them (great writing there…)
Walpurgisnacht comes and Madoka contracts, becoming Kriemhild.
Film 9
Mabayu practices fighting witches alone
Wow nothing really happens in this one huh. But it seems like the loops are finally getting to Mabayu mentally
Film 10
Homura and Mabayu leave town to stock up on grief seeds but Mabayu is killed by Kyoko
Kyoko kills Mami too wow thats so out of character…
Film 11
Mabayu realises that she continues fighting because of her admiration for Homura.
Kyubey suggests Mabayu replaces Madoka as the big entropy ending power source
Film 12
Mabayu suggests they get Mami to help them but Homura is against it
Homura instead recruits Kyoko, swaying her with the promise of plenty of grief seeds
Homura and Mabayu grow a little closer with Homura allowing her to call her by her first name. This makes Mabayu upset I think because she’s worried about getting too close with Homura
Kyoko tells Mami the truth about witches. Mabayu decides to cut Mami’s memories but sees herself in them, leading toooo
Film Mami Tomoe
Wow Mami is finally important thank fucking god! This is set before everything btw
Mabayu meets Mami with Kyubey and decides on a wish quickly. To remove her mother’s future sight so she no longer knows about her predicted death.
Mami and Mabayu work together by Mabayu holding back but using her future sight and Mami fighting for her, sharing the grief seed.
After an incident with a rookie magical girl, Mabayu learns she can cut memories. The girl seems to go missing and the two are worried, Mami thinking it's her fault
This bit is weird, it seems to play out like film 1 but from Mami's point of view. Mabayu suddenly seems to not know her. (Kyubey is affected too)
Homura is coolTM so its not film 1 I guess. Homura tells Mami not to talk with Mabayu.
Mami thinks Mabayu erased her memories of their time together.
Kyoko tells Mami the truth about witches.
Mabayu meets up with Mami and sees her memories which brings her old ones back. She realises Mami is guilty about leading other girls to their deaths by making them contract. Mabayu thinks she's a coward for cutting her own memories but leaving Mami with the burden.
It is revealed Homura was trying to keep Mami and Mabayu apart so that Mabayu wouldn't regain her memories of Mami and the time they spent together. (I dont really know why...)
Mabayu uses future sight for Homura, saying they'll win and fix everything, but this is a lie. She actually saw herself becoming a witch.
As Mabayu is close to falling into despair, Madoka wishes to save her.
Then we go to film 0, I dont know why this is getting so hard to follow...
It seems like this is the first timeline, the start of episode 10.
Madoka makes a contract to save Amy.
Mabayu is friends with Mami here.
Meanwhile Mabayu meets Ultimate Madoka??? It seems she is showing Mabayu these events.
Mabayu helps Madoka with the minotaur witch.
Mabayu sees Walpurgisnacht while future-visioning for the minotaur witch and tells Mami and Madoka.
Episode 10 plays out
The girls defeat Charlotte with Mami surviving.
Walpurgisnacht comes and Mabayu uses her future vision but sees they will fail and both Mabayu and Mami will become witches.
Mabayu lies, saying they'll defeat the witch.
At Walpurgisnacht, Mabayu confesses she lied before and she suddenly sees numerous films of the anime.
Mabayu says something dumb and cuts her own memories "Her future vision shows her a film with a future in which her vision of the future is already woven in. So if she erases her memories of despair, then the future will turn into hope!" like what the fuck does that mean? But Mami knew she was lying anyway cause she's a terrible liar so Mabayu you fucking solved nothing
Mami and Mabayu both die by Walpurgisnacht and Homura contracts.
Mabayu awakes in a new timeline and goes to cut Kyubey and Mami's memories of her.
And now we're FINALLY back to the main story
Mabayu cuts the film of her fate(?) I guess making it so she forgets about witches.
Madoka, Homura, Kyoko and Mabayu go to find Mami in the school where she's laid out a trap. She wants to 'free Mabayu of Homura's brainwashing' and wants to run away with her.
Mami doesn't want her memories to be cut because she doesn't want to stop being Mabayu's friend but in the end she accepts it, Mabayu cutting her memories.
They fight Walpurgis but fail, reset!
Film 13
Mami no longer comes up to Mabayu in the morning, she no longer remembers her as a friend.
Mabayu decides to cut Homura's memories of her and then from the entire film(?) I guess from everyone else.
At the cafe, Mami visits to buy cake and gets along with Mabayu.
The anime then plays out like usual.
-
And well that's it :T what a lame ending huh. Can you tell I was super fed up at the end? But... the story is here... sorry if things don't make sense in places, they don't make sense just as much in the story...

🌻
ty for an excuse to yap sorry this took FOREVER to answer i keep forgetting to check drafts and things like that fjsbdbd.
IVE ASSIGNED ALL THE VBS MEMBWRS MADOKA CHARACTERS
this is based on a mixture of personality and the persons role in the story so pls read my reasoning and hear me out 🙂↕️🙂↕️
TLDR ;
🐹 -> 🎀 | 🎧 -> 🍎 | 🥞 -> 🐟 | ☕️ -> ⚜️
🎀MADOKA | KOHANE🐹
- this one feels really self explanatory. not only are they both really sweet and pink coded girls who want to try improve - they have a lot of character parallels. for instance both feel very insecure/talentless at the start of their respective stories, but end up actually being the most skilled !
- madoka is the most powerful of them all, and kohane is naturally extremely talented at singing and is the reason VBS formed in the first place!!! shes the unit leader and has influence on literally all of the others - the way madoka has influence on not just homura but sayaka, mami, and kyoko too !!!
- just as madoka lead the story of pmmm kohane leads vbs, their growing confidence in themselves being catalysts for final goals and happiness being achieved as they make scary decisions and face their fears in order to support their friends
- i also feel like in a wish situation kohane would 100% be in the same position as madoka - wanting to make a wish to feel like shes good at something (prestory) then wanting to because she wants to help her friends (after mainstory) and so on so forth ! i have more to say but i still have 3 more to do orz
🍎KYOKO | AN🎧
- this one might appear less obvious but i promise u it makes complete sense fueueu.
- first of all their general personality feels pretty similar. being very teasing and headstrong, good at what they do and not shy to admit it; but also go through severe bouts of self-doubt, really worrying for their friends and wanting to do what they can to help, even if their advice or support may appear unsolicited or end up not being what the other needs at the time (re: an1 for an)
- additionally both go through intense grief which bears great impact on their lives and ways of interacting with others
🐟SAYAKA | AKITO🥞
- the shinonomes overall are very sayaka coded to me, in a normal assignment id give sayaka ena but here she can get akito !
- at face value their personalities are very dissimilar, akito appearing rude while sayaka is pretty friendly and happy golucky, but their parallels is what i find interesting.
- akito is considered to be the weakest singing wise in the group when it comes to raw talent - this is implied to be partially true in the basis that his insecurities stem from others comments alongside his "downfalls". sayaka reflects a similar notion in how as a magical girl the narrative depicts her as weak (kyubey states as such).
- both of them deal with this in remarkably similar ways, the main difference being sayaka had no chance of happiness again due to cirumstance. they both battled it off with brute force, willing their way through with hard work but not addressing the problem at all. this spiraled for them both as when they hit a wall, the idea of not being good enough hit them, and made it hard for them to progress or progress in healthy way -> both of them continuing at the expenses of their health. additionally, they lashed out at those they cared for most, overwhelmed with helplessness.
i could go on but ill spare you all hehe
⚜️MAMI | TOYA☕️
ok so this is definitely my weakest one.. but there is a level of connection i can draw between them
- both of them have similar airs of politeness, being nice and willing to help others, whilst struggling with their true feelings
- i would say though a bigger relation between the two is their placement as veterans of their skillsets. while toya hasnt been doing street music as long as an or akito, he has been doing classical since near birth and has been using that to his advantage as of recent to achieve what he needs, and is highly skilled at it. mami is in a similiar position of being a magical girl for years and holding a great deal of experience
- both of them hold weight over their friends unwillingly due to this. sayaka has an unrealistic idea of reality due to the image mami had put out with her goal of being a good upperclassmen, and akito suffers with feeling like hes falling behind toyas skill (though this isnt only attributed to toya).
- they are both rather intelligent and at the end of the day really just want to form nice connections with the ones they care about as their achieve their goals.
#pmmm#puella magi madoka magica#prsk#pjsk#vbs#vivid bad squad#kohane azusawa#madoka kaname#an shiraishi#kyoko sakura#akito shinonome#sayaka miki#toya aoyagi#mami tomoe#if you feel like i missed something or characterised someone wrong feel free to correct me nicely im happy to yap about these forever#ravenclodarchive#☆asks☆

Analyzing Celeste's Class Relationships
Because I'm in a Celeste mood often these days.
Based on all info from the games/manga/anime/stage show, plus these relationship charts.
POSITIVE
Celeste & Makoto: This is one of two of the most developed relationships Celeste has with a classmate. Makoto is drawn to Celeste because of how mysterious she is. He is instantly wary of her and under no illusions as to what a bitch she can be, yet also cannot help trying to get to know her and be nice to her in order to understand her better. As seen in her final FTE and School Mode, in spite of her best efforts this does end up getting to Celeste, leading to her promoting Makoto to "C Rank" in the former and even "B Rank" in the latter. The bond they formed even gets displayed in the Chapter 3 Class Trial where Celeste momentarily malfunctions trying desperately to stay in character when she is shaken by Makoto's earnest plea for her to just be honest, and after her execution where Makoto is upset that Monokuma tempted her into villainy since he truly did consider her a friend up to that point, with him later absolving her of all guilt in the Chapter 6 Class Trial once he learned that Junko stole everyone's memories, since nobody would have murdered anybody had those memories been retained. While the positive nature of their relationship makes sense on Makoto's end, on Celeste's end it's more enigmatic until you realize that she probably sees much of her hidden self of Taeko Yasuhiro in Makoto: a plain, boring kid with a passive talent based around luck. In learning to love Makoto and the unexpected kindness he shows to her, she is slowly, subconsciously beginning to learn to love herself beyond just the Celeste cover.
Celeste & Mondo (One-Sided): Celeste has a strange sort of respect for Mondo. While she considers him dumb and isn't afraid to let him know it, she admires him for living true to himself, the way she sees herself doing. In actuality of course, she is not living "true to herself", and she probably senses on a subconscious level that neither is Mondo. Seeing some of herself in Mondo also extends to his explosive temper, which she always calmy tries to defuse whenever it comes out. Mondo, however, doesn't care all that much for Celeste.
Celeste & Byakuya (One-Sided): Being as rich, smart, powerful and famous as she would like to be, Celeste naturally holds great admiration toward Byakuya. When she attempts to tell him that the two of them are similar, however, Byakuya takes it as an insult and tells her to shut up, as he can tell she's a mere commoner playing pretend. Byakuya thinks so little of Celeste that in School Mode he even forgets her name upon Makoto mentioning it...and then when he remembers her to be "the gambling girl", he says bluntly that he has no interest in her at all. The only time he expressed respect toward her was when she was a murderer.
Celeste & Sayaka: We only see a little of their relationship, but it seems to be one of mutual cordial politeness. Celeste appears to suspect that there is more to Sayaka than meets the eye and that she is much shrewder than she lets on, but doesn't pursue the matter. As far as she's concerned, Sayaka should be allowed her social mask just as she is allowed her own.
Celeste & Kyoko: Kyoko is someone that Celeste respects for her intelligence, something she displays in the first two Class Trials, which leads to her conversing more with Kyoko on serious matters during the third chapter. When composing her murder plan, Celeste sees Kyoko as the biggest threat to it and tries to ensure she's involved as little as possible. After being exposed as the culprit in the third Class Trial, Celeste also remarks that she knew Kyoko would figure out that she utilized Alter Ego in her plan, and before being executed specifically chooses Kyoko to give the key to Alter Ego's location, almost letting some genuine feelings slip since she knows Kyoko is the most invested in the idea of Alter Ego as a means of escaping Hope's Peak...an idea Celeste just couldn't bring herself to believe in.
For her part, Kyoko starts out not showing Celeste any more emotion than she does any of the other students. However, Kyoko's reaction in Celeste's official Relationship Chart and her commentary when Makoto brings Celeste up to her in School Mode suggest that, just like Makoto, she finds Celeste's mysterious deceptiveness intriguing and enjoys trying to "solve" her. The calm yet faintly sad way she looks at Celeste prior to her execution indicates that she does end up seeing past her facade, and the manga even confirms that she internally mourns for her after being given the key to Alter Ego, showing that she respected her too..
Celeste & Sakura: They hold a mutual respect for one another, as Celeste admires Sakura's diligence while Sakura admires the "steady courage" that resides within Celeste. In USC, after Sakura carries Celeste to where she can receive medical attention after spraining her ankle, Celeste displays an almost romantic attraction to Sakura by bemoaning the fact that she is not a handsome man because she would gladly have her live with her in her castle if she was. Sakura tells Celeste that she must have patience, for meeting the right sort of men for her dream will likely take time; advice that Celeste begrudgingly accepts from her. In the stage show where the third and fourth chapters are combined, Celeste is also shown to have respected Sakura and is thus infuriated when she sees her ingest poison, mistakenly thinking that she's simply trying to escape the Killing Game through suicide. This causes her to snap as she tries to beat Sakura to death with a metal bat so that she can instead be the one to escape: either through becoming the Blackened if she succeeds in killing Sakura, or through execution if she fails...in other words, a gamble, one that is worthy of Celestia Ludenberg.
Celeste & Chihiro (One-Sided): Celeste respects Chihiro for persevering despite the visible fear she shows, the kind of fear that Celeste keeps repressed at all times. Chihiro, on the other hand, is understandably intimidated by Celeste and thus doesn't go out of her way to hang out with her. The respect Celeste had for Chihiro means that she is angered when Chihiro dies having broken the Nighttime Rule that Celeste created, with her coldly saying that Chihiro got what she deserved for her defiance of the rule. Unfortunately, we don't get to see a reaction from Celeste upon learning Chihiro's true gender or hear her thoughts about it.
NEGATIVE
Celeste & Taka: Taka shows annoyance at Celeste for flouting school rules and not pulling her weight in group efforts enough, while Celeste is irritated at Taka for being such a hard-assed stickler for school rules even when they aren't partaking in a regular school semester. Celeste also becomes afraid of Taka when he becomes "Kiyondo", seeing him as a potential threat since he's behaving like the previous murderer, which is why she targets him for killing.
Celeste & Leon: Leon holds no interest in Celeste since he's "into more pure-hearted girls", while Celeste (like most) sees Leon as nothing but a frivolous moron. She is also angered by him starting the Killing Game by killing Sayaka when he didn't need to (whether out of anger or a misguided attempt at helping her by himself), although his execution still disturbs her.
Celeste & Hiro: Celeste dislikes Hiro immediately, since he's a lazy, imbecilic bum who has her real last name as his first name. This is why she callously frames him for murder later on.
Celeste & Hifumi (One-Sided): And this would be the other most developed relationship Celeste shares with a classmate. In Chapter 2, Celeste decides that she needs a servant in her back pocket now that the Killing Game is on, so she recruits Hifumi since he appears the easiest to manipulate. Right away, we see that a servant's loyalty means a lot to her, as any backtalk or failure on Hifumi's part risks her breaking her facade and erupting in anger. Hifumi's infatuation with Alter Ego becomes the last straw, as Celeste decides to use him and his feelings for it in her murder plot that involves killing him too after he's served his purpose in helping her. And even here Hifumi ends up causing her a lot of trouble through designing an unwieldy Robo-Justice costume which makes it impossible for Hiro to have killed anyone while wearing it, wiping his glasses of blood and throwing away the handkerchief which exposes that he was faking his death at the time, and saying her real first name of Yasuhiro before dying for real. It's to the point where simply thinking about him enrages her during the Class Trial, and thus the guilt she feels for betraying and killing him is willfully buried deep.
Hifumi, meanwhile, liked and trusted Celeste, making his ultimate fate all the more tragic.
Celeste & Hina: Their relationship is a simple one - Celeste finds Hina to be dumb and Hina finds Celeste to be mean. Despite this, they are able to tolerate one another's company often, and despite her anger at being manipulated and having two of her friends killed by Celeste, Hina still sheds tears for Celeste when she is executed, as she still valued her life.
Celeste & Mukuro (One-Sided): Mukuro as "Junko" seems perfectly fine with Celeste, but Celeste is irritated by Mukuro's inability to conceal her emotions, with her temper and vulgar language reminding her too much of Taeko Yasuhiro for comfort. Thus she coldly bids her a "good riddance" after she is killed, with any horror at her death being masked perfectly.
Celeste & Toko: Toko is as hostile and judgmentally misogynistic toward Celeste as she is the other girls, while Celeste either ignores Toko altogether or treats her with condescending amusement. And naturally, Celeste steers clear of Genocide Jack after she first emerges.
FLIPPED TO POSITIVE
Celeste & Hifumi: Whenever the Killing Game isn't a factor, Celeste and Hifumi actually get on quite well. Hifumi is able to become a competent servant for Celeste who satisfies her unquenchable thirst for royal milk tea, and Celeste in turn provides Hifumi with a lot of inspiration for his manga creating. In the past before their memories are wiped, we see a photo where Hifumi has stolen fake eyelashes from Celeste, who is trying to take them back while attempting to be angry but clearly blushing and laughing as she does so. We also know that Celeste let Hifumi in on her real name, which she wouldn't do unless she trusted him. In USC, there is even a nice moment between them at the bonfire where Celeste tells Hifumi that she will save a room in her castle for him if he ever reincarnates into a handsome vampire, and showing no judgement when he says he'd rather reincarnate into a Magical Girl. Their mutual fondness for manga is also an unspoken source of camaraderie between them.
Celeste & Taka: In School Mode, Taka mentions that he has played darts with Celeste, and in UTDP we see them engage in a friendly, respectful shogi rivalry, with Taka serving her tea every time he loses. Since he constantly loses, he bemoans his failure and calls himself a loser, which causes a fleeting showing of empathy from Celeste as she looks sad. When he finally draws against her, she praises his luck, while he insists it was the result of his hard work in never giving up challenging her, which sparks a bet between them as to whether his hard work can improve society at large or not. In USC, they even play video games together.
Celeste & Mukuro: In scenarios outside of the Killing Game, Celeste is more polite and respectful toward Mukuro. They aren't exactly friends, but there's no hostility present either.
Celeste & Toko: In USC, Celeste is shown to be friends with Genocide Jack. Knowing that she has retired from murder and not in a Killing Game where murder is required, she has no fear of socializing with her, as seen when they and Kotoko order food and have "girl talk".

I never realized i posted a tier list here until now, but just posting a normal, boring tier list of the game and maybe anime characters is soooo bland! So why not,
(almost) EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER IN THE DR FRANCHISE RANKED (spoilers for every entry obviously)
You’ll need a microscope to go through all of them lol, also, since its an obligatory thing, here’s some opinions on my top 10 characters!
TOP 10:
Sato: I don’t even need to explain it, because I quite literally have 30 times already, if you want to know how much I really love her, then check out my defence post pinned in my profile.
Karen Kisaragi: She is a character that strangely resembles sato in a way, IE; both are somewhat disliked by the fandom because they killed someone for “No reason” despite the fact they did have reasons and were in a state where they cannot think right. Which means, Kisato is peak!!!! (I seriously need to finish my fanfic abt them)
Yasuke Matsuda: Best novel character by FAR, he has a fun character, cool background, nice design, and just overall a nice anti-hero that has motives that you can actually understand. (which resemble sato too LMAO)
Yuto Kamishiro: Another dr0 character in a row! While yes, he is a creepy bastard when we first meet him, throughout the novel, we get to see more and more of him and his motives/personality shine and its just fantastic, while he would originally have been A+ though, what really sold me was when I started my “Full Class-Batch” series with Class 77-A, which made me love him even more.
Shoji Yoko & Daiki Kubo: Yup, the two character we never got to see their deaths in screen form (they’re shown in the dr0 novel), heck, even Shoji doesn’t have a canon voice. But what can I say? These two scream bros vibes HARD, like they’re the typical “bros before hoes” type.
Kyoko Kirigiri: FINALLY, a character that is from the games! She is amazing and the best one, from her mysterious aura in dr1, from her sacrifice in dr3, to her backstory in drk, she deserves the top spot for the best game character.
Hajime Hinata: Best protag is here! Yeah, I said it, he is the best protag. He shines in chapters like 6 and also in the anime where we see his struggles and doubts (dr3 is overhated, fight me). Not to mention his interactions with characters like Chiaki and Nagito, people say he is bland, but I dig otherwise.
Yui Samidare: 2nd best protag! Honestly, her and hajime could be interchangeable in spots, she is just that good! Her development and sister-like friendship with Kyoko is so cute!!!!, and so sad when you realize she protects Kyoko at all costs bc of her dead sister :( and makes it even more sad in the end of the novel. YUIIII WHYYYY.
Mikan Tsumiki: final character in my top 10, I feel so bad for her and what she went through both inside and outside of the tragedy, it goes to show how mental trauma like that can truly change a person, hope she is doing okay now.
Also, for those wondering who is missing here:
Almost Danganronpa Togami character.
Makoto Secret File Characters.
UDG Book Authors.
Kazuichi Novel characters (If any).
Drama CDS characters (if any).
Stage play Actors.
(maybe) some Danganronpa Gaiden/Manga characters
Oh yeah, heres my tierlist template for anyone to use: https://tiermaker.com/create/every-single-danganronpa-character-1204761-2
#danganronpa#dr1#sdr2#dr3#drv3#dr0#im NOT tagging everyone here#but ill tag the ones i talked abt#danganronpa sato#karen kisaragi#karen and sato should make out slopy style#yasuke matsuda#yuto kamishiro#shoji yoko#daiki kubo#kyoko kirigiri#hajime hinata#yui samidare#mikan tsumiki

saw your yuki/kyo dissection and i was curious to know what's the other ship you think was an obvious possible option?
... after consulting @cafedanslanuit , Imma say it. For the plot. And Imma write my essay explaining my case. But y'all... don't get mad at me for being right. Strap in, this is gonna be a long one lmao.
But before I actually say it, we need to talk about Akito and Tohru and how they parallel one another.
Because these two are the same character at the opposite ends of the spectrum and 2/3 of the key aspects of Fruits Basket that make the show work. Without them, there's no Fruits Basket.
Both of them are quite literally the same character.
Masculine naming convention? Check.
Abandonment issues? Check.
A favored parent and a parent they have negative feelings towards? Check.
Especially since their respective relationships with their parents led to those abandonment issues and how they interact with the world. Akira was to Akito what Kyoko was Tohru. Ren's unnatural hatred of Akito, viewing her as a threat for Akira's attention, Akira's death and Kureno's curse suddenly breaking for no rhyme or reason led to Akito becoming the person she became.
Katsuya's death caused Kyoko to fall into a depression so deep she neglected Tohru for an indeterminable amount of time. Very nearly left Tohru to herself before coming her senses and becoming the best mom in the world that we the audience know her as. But that period of Tohru's life was very forming for who she became.
Kyoko came back after coming to her senses, we know this. But to Tohru, her mother suddenly embracing her for the first time in likely weeks, was the result of Tohru mimicking her dad's speech. A formal way of speaking that became so engrained into her daily habits, it's completely inseparable from her now.
Akito and Tohru's respective experiences ultimately lead them to the same core aspect of their character: Loneliness.
Both of them are terribly afraid of being alone, they just keep people in their lives in very different way.
Akito relied on fear, Tohru used kindness.
Akito used violence, Tohru used compassion.
Akito's go-to was embracing her father's words that she was a special child born to be loved. As such, she could do anything she wanted to the other members of the zodiac without facing any repercussions.
Tohru's go-to was her belief that her not prioritizing her mother over rest is inherently connected to her mother's death. That she should have prioritized her mother over everything. That her mother had to be her number one even in death. Thus, she became afraid of loving anything or anyone more than her mother. And yet, she still didn't want to lose anyone else in her life.
Tohru's kindness is genuine but there is a benefit she gains from it similarly yet juxtaposed to Akito's abuse.
That's why the two of them are able to come to an understanding with one another by the end of the story. Why Tohru was able to set everything else aside to start from zero because she understands that fear of being alone all too well.
They are both a mirror into what the other person could have been like if their circumstances were different. Tohru could have been that bitter, hate-filled woman, while Akito could have just as easily been the sweetest woman in the world.
Akito is Tohru
and Tohru is Akito.
All this buildup is to say that...
I think the only other obvious choice for Tohru was Shigure.
Yes, Shigure.
Y'all heard me right.
The final piece to what makes Furuba work, the one who instigated the plot in the first place.
And I'm sorry if y'all get mad at me for saying that, but I really don't think this is an incorrect assessment. I'll die on the hill that it was an obvious what if.
There's superficial things one can have fun mentioning in regards to these two ー
Across all adaptations of Furuba, Shigure is the first Sohma we are introduced to
Shigure's cursed year is the Dog, Tohru's birth year is the Dog
But the biggest thing for me is in how Tohru is an intrinsic part of something Shigure lacks as a person, that being empathy.
To make myself clear, I'm not saying Shigure is completely void of empathy. Because we can see him expressing it to the people he cares for in the story. (Ex. Wanting to go on a vacation during Golden Week so Hatori can avoid his ex's wedding.)
But for Shigure, empathy isn't something that comes easy for him. As he words it, his kindness isn't as good as the real thing someone like Hatori has. Shigure considers his kindness a hastily manufactured afterthought.
He's someone perfectly content using someone if he gets something out of it. And if he sees someone hesitating to reach for something they want, he'd rather just provoke them into action than attempt to warmly encourage them or understand where they're coming from. Because he doesn't see a point in hesitating at all and frankly, he knows comforting people like that doesn't come easy to him. So he normally opts not to.
As such, he's fascinated by the levels of empathy and kindness Tohru has. Tohru's kindness sometimes even makes him feel guilty and Shigure isn't someone who often feels guilt in the first place.
Contrast to him, Tohru is so pure that Shigure can't help acknowledging how twisted he is. In season 1/the manga's first arc, he even tells Hatori that because of that forced realization he gets every time he looks at her he thinks Tohru is too pure for him.
Compare to that to our final arc of the manga/season ー where it all eventually escalates to Shigure's quiet contemplationthat maybe he should have dreamed of Tohru.
That it's most likely that Akito wasn't the right one to dream of.
That someone as twisted as him needs someone like Tohru to balance it. To be that beacon that can lead him into being a 'normal' person.
He genuinely thinks about it in that moment as he playfully tells Tohru 「もしもの、お話し」 which is more accurately translated as "It's a what-if story".
Had Shigure dreamed of Tohru all those years ago, what would have been different?
...
But Tohru isn't who he dreamed of and this is the bed Shigure has decided to make for himself. One he has kept on the path of for years. So he lets himself think about the what ifs for a moment before ultimately deciding to keep lying in the bed he's made in hopes of the day Akito finally comes around.
But it's in Shigure's mind, and now the audience's mind, that more than likely it should have been Tohru. Tohru and what she represents is who he should have dreamed of.
You can see signs that a relationship with Tohru is something Shigure's considered even vaguely in the series even before that point though.
Sure it's passed as a joke, but when you look back at the scene with the "what if story" goggles, you can't help wondering "was it really though?"
Hell, Shigure desiring Tohru is something that even Akito feared.
She was enraged at the thought very thought of it during the Summer Vacation arc. It's what set Akito off enough to tell Tohru that she is the God of the zodiacs and they all belong to her, Shigure in particular.
Akito was already even in an agitated state before she asked Shigure if he felt anything even partially romantic towards Tohru. Why? Because she's displeased that Shigure isn't kind to her the way he used to be. That he used to only look at Akito but now he doesn't. She wants him to be kind to her again, like he was before.
And Shigure is exceptionally kind to Tohru.
Like he is very careful and considerate when he comes to Tohru which he even confesses to Mayu at one point when she tells him that he should treat her carefully. He tells her 「これでも僕にしてはめずらしいくらい大切にしてると思うんだけどね」 which can, more accurately be given a rough translation of "I think it's unusual for me, but I'm taking good care of her" or even "I think it's unusual for me to value someone this much".
And if you look back on the series, that isn't cap.
Excluding characters like Kisa, Hiro and Momiji (who isn't the same age as the other two but acts youthful enough it is easy to forget), Tohru is the only character Shigure doesn't really treat the way he does everyone else.
Shigure has no problem poking and prodding at people, even in moments where they're very clearly in emotional turmoil when he says them.
Asking Yuki what Akito told him during the Summer Vacation arc.
Telling Kyo that he is using hating Yuki as a shield for what he doesn't want to think about.
(... Telling Akito "bitch I wouldn't have cheated on you if you didn't cheat on me first" lmaooo.)
Even if at the end of the day, it is coming from his own way of caring (trying to get people to act and move forward), that doesn't change the fact Shigure can be a complete asshole. One that will say some very hurtful things to people.
And he's done it multiple times to the same people over and over again. Measuring what's the right amount of what to say to avoid or invoke a specific reaction that he does or doesn't want. Sometimes it's played for laughs, other times it is to rile someone up so badly they cannot contain their aggravation.
So it really isn't cap when he tells Mayu he does, in reality, treat Tohru very gently. For all that Shigure is capable of doing, he treats Tohru with more care than he normally gives to people. Especially considering he has no real reason to since she was a stranger to him until recently.
It takes Shigure until the final arc to do anything of his usual nature to Tohru. And when he does, he asks her if she's mad at him afterwards. It doesn't sound like much until you realize he's never done anything of that sort for any other character in the series.
Yuki. Kyo. Akito.
He'll back off. He might sigh and state it's pointless to continue a debate when he and the other person are going back and forth in circles. But he never asks to see how that other person feels because he doesn't care. Hell, he can tell if that other person is upset with him or done with his shenanigans.
And yet with Tohru, he feels compelled to ask for the first time ever.
And, of course, I can't talk about all this stuff and not mention Shigure's calm fury when Tohru fell from the cliffside. He stayed quiet for damn near 20 seconds as he processed that Akito told him that Tohru fell and we don't see his face the entire time he's processing. Then once he finally pulls himself together, he couldn't even let Akito finish her sentence when he asked if Tohru's 'fall' was a push.
We never truly get to see in Furuba, something that could set Shigure off.
But I think in that moment we get a glimpse of it. A glimpse that shows just how strongly he feels for Tohru. Because it begs the question, if Akito had pushed Tohru off that cliff, what would Shigure have done? How would he have reacted? I don't think even Shigure knew how he would have reacted.
I'm honestly morbidly curious.
That's all to say, that, "what if" story was with Shigure. Not Momiji, not Yuki. It was Shigure.
'If you didn't end up with A, you definitely would have ended up with B'. If we narrowed this down to Yuki and Tohru specifically, there's only two other characters that come close to that. If it wasn't Machi for Yuki and Kyo for Tohru ー YuKyo and ShiTohru would have been at the finish line.
If Shigure had dreamed of Tohru... or hell, what if he had dreamt of Akito but decided that that dream alone wasn't enough to keep the canine sense of loyalty he was cursed with?
There definitely would have been more than just proposals played for laughs and musings of that 'what could have been's.
Well anyway if you're curious to see my take on what it could have been like if Shigure dreamed of Tohru (complete w/ YuKyo and onesided AkiGure) do I have the story for you because I'm writing it on AO3. Read and give me comments to validate my delusions wwwwwwwwwww

ok! webcomic update! previously, i said that i'm considering on making two chapters before i release it - im scratching that idea off. tho i keep jumping back to do some linearts and a few coloring for parts that i'm sure i won't change, i finally also finished the sketch/mapping as a whole for the whole script draft i wrote for chapter 1.
as i kept on mapping and sketching everything out, especially near the end, i realized that the chapter length is easily at least two times the size of what i initially expected of a standard chapter length??? LMAO so i'm technically already working on two chapters worth of story length all along, it's just that since it's chapter 1 that its longer. if i stack these long pages together, the canvas height would at least be around 115K pixels 🤣😭🤣😭
im so extra for this shit, bc this chapter is just me essentially setting everything up (=planting seeds) and getting a grasp on the webcomic creation workflow & most of the canon characters. but i love being extra for my ocs! ueueueue you will understand when you read it.
this will also be the most i've drawn tsuna and reborn(butter this one's for you 🫵), ever. so besides oc withdrawal, i am also having cute girls withdrawal, the only one keeping me alive in these trying times is my girlie kyoko-chan. if you notice her panels are extra well-done...umm...uhhhh....i love cute girls 🫶🥰✨
my alternative is to just add another segment in the end, as some form of preview on what to expect next chapter. it should be no more than another 7K pixels, it's alr so long, this is nothing at this point 🤣
in terms of art improvement, i must say that they really are not kidding when they say if you keep drawing comics your art will improve. i keep noticing things idk how to draw (=i'll need to study how to) and i'm also being forced to draw characters in angles/poses i was too much of a coward to draw before and also! things i didn't give too many shits about to draw before, including mob characters and backgrounds (that i can't 3d my way out of).
honestly, at some point in the future, i should make a custom brush for namichuu student mobs, because goddamn! it's a pain!
it's also nice that i get to also technically do manga panel redraws by doing this! i find that doing redraws of anime screenshots/manga panels is good practice for how effectively im able to eyeball & figure out poses from references.
lastly for the updated estimate of the release! the latest i could finish it if i really take my time would be by christmas (this would be my og deadline if i had planned to release two standard-length chapters). though, i'd release it earlier if I finish earlier, of course.
and im not rlly beating myself up for not making my own personal deadline, i'll just think about it like this "deadlines are a social construct, its not like i'll lose my irl job for not finishing my personal webcomic 🤣🤣🤣" lmaoosjdfhjsf pls im already so depressed the past few days & im isolating, i don't want to add more to it. and having tunnel vision on the grind to make this is actually a good distraction from nasty thoughts. also took a break today from making it, that's why im able to drop by a few ppl's notifs 🫶
#einproject#i will sleep early today too and start early this sunday#im taking care of myself#physical health debuff mental health debuff family drama debuff etc debuff (bc tmi...)#these debuffs won't stop me from releasing ch1 im that desperate 😤😤😤

As a fun thought experiment and because I'm going crazy, I decided to figure how to classify holy quintet into honkai star rail :D
game wise, if I tried fitting the lore, I'm going to cry /J
( spoilers for madoka magica )
Okay so I believe mami would be erudition due to how she fights in madoka magica
And magia record
She would be a physical, due to the fact there really isn't anything else i think she would be, nor fits her.
Sayaka is an interesting case because she can heal herself,
but I believe she follows the path of destruction, primarily because there are special characters that are able to boost their own abilitys, ( jinglin, clara, and blade ) without the help of harmony characters.
Not to mention, Sayaka is technically destroying herself when she becomes a magical girl, so it fits. She be an ice type considering there's no water.
I think kyoko would follow the path of the hunt, because during most of the series she mainly attacks one at a time.
I find more footage but couldn't find her fighting more so.. however, she would be a fire type because of her transformation and because of her lore. And because it fits her.
Homura would follow the path of nhitlity ( I can't spell :P ) and be quantum because of her ability to stop time.
I was really debating whether or not she was physical due to the fact she actually doesn't have any weapons besides the ones she stole. Which aren't magic. But then remembered the quantum break does extra damage when the enemy leaves, and that's kinda what homura does. So quantum, and nhitlity.
And finally madoka! I think she be a preservation and imaginary. Because her wish was to save all magical girls from their witch forms and because after she rewrote the world, the only ones that remembered her were homura, and her little brother, like she was from their imagination.
And that's it! I refuse to try and do math to figure out how they act as playable characters and all that jazz, so I'm happy saying what I think they be, nothing more :3
And these are just what I think, playing HSR and watching madoka magica

All right, one of the main things I talk about on this blog are ships, so here's a quick rundown of my favorites.
Kyoko Sakura/Sayaka Miki (Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Ah, KyoSaya, my beloved. What can I say about them? Let's start with how they are each other's perfect foils, with several important similarities to draw them together while several major differences to keep that spicy clashing. They are the perfect example of soulmates, two characters who, when in opposition, constantly get worse and worse, but when they're on the same page, they bring out each other's best qualities. Not bad for a relationship that started with mutual murder attempts and had a murder/suicide as its midpoint!
Canon? Eh, sort of. Obviously, PMMM likes to skirt the line, but they definitely knew what they were doing. So, not officially confirmed canon, more of, "And they were roommates!"

2. Suletta Mercury/Miorine Rembran (Gundam: the Witch from Mercury)
You know a pairing is strong when it's the most recent one but also rocketed up to the number two spot.
Suletta and Miorine are opposites attracting in its purest form. The socially anxious and all loving country girl and the cold and cynical corporate heiress, these two are such fundamentally different people that if it weren't for the bizarre circumstances that brought them together, they probably wouldn't even be friends. But they were brought together, and as the grew to understand one another and got closer, both they and we found just how much they had in common, and how perfectly they complemented one another, with each of their strengths covering the other's weaknesses.
Canon? Absolutely. They're married, bitches! No further interpretation needed!

3. Shinji Ikari/Asuka Langley/Rei Ayanami (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
The one poly ship I am absolutely feral over, AsuShinRei (or the Israfel Special) are an example of a ship that cannot work in canon, would absolutely be a terrible idea in canon, but man, don't you wish you lived in the world where it would work? For as toxic, avoidant, and abusive these three are to each other, their respective traumas and personalities are such that if they could get just the slightest bit better and reach out to one another instead of pushing each other away, they would click so wonderfully well. Alas, it is not meant to be.
Canon? Lol, no.

4. Princess Entrapta/Hordak (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power)
I debated putting this one so high up over the heavy hitters that it sits atop upon, but at the end of the day, as a grumpy autistic introvert, these two just meant so much to me. It's like each represents different aspects of my personality, and watching them interact made me feel seen in a way I didn't even know I needed.
Canon? Kind of. At the very least, they're extremely close friends with a possibility for romance.

5. Luz Noceda/Amity Blight (The Owl House)
I had a real hard time choosing whether this or Catradora should take the number five spot, but while Catradora has that wonderful enemies to lovers with so much delicious angst, Lumity edges it out by being the rare pairing that got together at the midpoint, letting us actually see their relationship build and grow instead of ending on them getting together, and it was wonderful.
Canon? Absolutely.

6. Adora/Catra (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power)
But let's not take anything away from Catradora. I love enemies to lovers. It's that spice of conflict between two people that are at constant odds but also deeply understand one another better than their friends do that makes all the difference, and them being former best friends just pushes it over the edge. You can feel how much they care, no matter how often or how violently they fought, and Catra being pulled back from the brink and the two finally being honest with their feelings was so cathartic.
Canon? Hell yeah.

7. Nanoha Tamamachi/Fate Testarossa (Lyrical Nanoha)
An oldie but a goodie. Nanoha and Fate are probably my first real ship, and set the standard for many of my ships to come. Enemies to lovers, close personal relationship, battle couple, whole nine yards. And while it predates me truly getting into shipping, meaning I'm not as gaga over them as I am the others, you have got to respect those who paved the way.
Canon? Basically. I mean, the time period and culture prevented them from outright saying it, but come on.

8. Marisa Kirisame/Alice Margatroid (Touhou)
To be honest, I don't ship/ship these two like I do the others. More of, I read a lot of really touching doujins about these two when I was first getting into Touhou and I like their dynamic. But like NanoFate, you have to give it up to the OG's.
Canon? Nah.
And any other ships fall into "I liked them when I was a kid, but feel really weird talking about them as an adult" or "MC x Best Girl in a harem series, but does that really count?" or stuff that I like but don't feel strongly enough about them to include.

English version DR:THH Gameplay Log #4
⚠️ Note that this Gameplay Log contains many spoilers, not only for THH but also for the entire Danganronpa franchise.
[Previous #3]
---

In the original, the way he speaks is fairly normal, but in the EN text, some bluntness(?) seems to have been added, perhaps to make his biker gang style more obvious.
---

(I failed to take a screenshot of the EN version. Sorry!) When Makoto looked him up online, he said that gangs love him, but it seems that they translated it appropriately here. (The original texts are almost exactly the same, though.)
---

hehe, the original text makes it sound like Makoto is very hesitant to talk to him. Yeah, I know it can't be helped, because the overuse of the "..." pause is weird in English.
---

It is interesting to see the word "よろしく" translated in various ways in the English version. If they had not made any special effort, I think her line would have been translated as "Hi, I'm Junko Enoshima. Nice to meet ya!" or something like that. But actually her "よろしく" is translated as "Charmed, I'm sure!". I wonder if this translation was done based on the fact that they will be talking about her appearance later.
---

Oh, I was surprised to see the word "photoshopped" used, since photoshop is the name of a specific software, and such words tend to be avoided in stories produced in Japan. I was a little surprised to see the word "photoshopped" used so openly. By the way, the word "盛ってる" is used in the original text. This is a slang used mainly by girls, and the act of making oneself look pretty in general, whether the image is edited or not, is called "盛る". ("盛ってる" is the form with -ing added to "盛る" if I were to compare it to English).
---

Huh, is it because her name is Junko that she uses the word "junk" so much??? 😂 If so, it is an interesting idea.
---

This is also the case the "…" in the original text was difficult to translate, but the original has a bit more of a sense of Kyoko's confusion about her lack of memory, but I feel the EN text makes Kyoko seem simply cold. (I'm pretty sure Kyoko is cold in the original as well, though.)
---

Oh, yeah, I finally got to see Chihiro called by "she".

ehehe, the original uses the word "小動物 (little animal)", but the English version is a bit more specific, saying "little bunny". Awww, I like the fact that Chihiro is compared to a bunny, because when I think of a bunny, I think of Usami and Chiaki. An image of Chihiro and Chiaki wearing bunny ears comes to mind. ( ᵕ̤ᴗᵕ̤ ).。o♡
---

Ah, I remember that Hina as well as Taka was one of the names that confused me when I saw them in English fandom. When I first saw it, I was like "Hina? .........Who is Hina?" Is this also because Aoi is hard to pronounce?
---

haha, in the original, Makoto shows no hesitation in saying the word "プロポーション (proportions)," but in the English version, he seems a little reluctant to say it, which is cute! <3 Perhaps the English Makoto is kinder than the original.
---

Uh, this is the part that gets weird when translated into English. In the original she does not know how to write Naegi's Nae in kanji and asks him about it, but in the English version the statement is that she does not know how to spell it. In reality, when Japanese people introduce themselves to each other, it is very common for them to ask each other what kind of kanji their partner's name uses. However, the kanji "苗 (Nae)" is quite simple and should be easy to understand since there are almost no other kanji with the same reading. So, it is a conversation that shows that she is quite stupid... well, I guess it is good enough that she doesn't know how to spell "Naegi", because it also shows that she is stupid.

How does mini thh and sdr2 cast pet place look like? I remember aoi had cup as swimming pools but how about others? I'm sorry if confusing English isn't my first language.
(Mini Classmates AU Masterlist)
This is a great question (and your English is perfectly fine)!
This is just a brainstorm, but here's what I'm thinking right now.
Edit: Also, these descriptions don't really include decorations, so for most of them assume there's also work done to decorate, etc.
Mini THH AU
Okay, first, let's look at the standard SDR2 room (with the understanding that some people have bookshelves, etc.)
Most of the senpais would put their kouhai's living space on the long, wooden piece of furniture beneath the TV. (Would we call that a dresser? A TV stand? Idk.) It's a lot of space for a tiny person to walk around, and they can get to the little cushioned seat from there.
Makoto- Nagito is very resourceful, so he would set up a very practical living space for Makoto. I'm thinking the bed is an empty matchbox wrapped in bubblewrap, or something of the sort, and any fabric can serve as a blanket. It's comfortable, creative, and simple. The bed is positioned in the little corner near the cushioned seat, so he doesn't get too much direct sunlight. There's a call bell nearby, in case he needs to get Nagito's attention, since it would be really hard for him to make himself heard otherwise, especially if Nagito is asleep. He also makes sure the floor below is covered in soft things, in case Makoto falls or, in extreme cases, needs to jump. (He lectures Makoto that, if someone ever breaks in to kill Nagito, he should jump down and hide under the cushioned seat, where they won't be able to reach him. And he asks that Makoto not rat out the killer, as that would ruin the game and it's Nagito's final wish that he not ruin the game.)
Kyoko- Hajime folds up a blanket and puts it in a shoebox for her. That's where she sleeps. She frequently climbs out and wanders around; she is very rarely still there when he wakes up. It scares him half to death, how she just disappears on him. Her general attitude toward that is "I understand why you feel that way, but I need to investigate, so it can't be helped."
Byakuya- I'm going to say that Sonia converts a jewelry box into a multi-story house for him. There are stairs and everything. His blankets are handkerchiefs monogrammed with her initials. There are snacks, and there is a water bottle like the kind hamsters use, which Gundham taught her how to make. Byakuya has gone out of his way to optain a pin light, and once they have access to the library, he uses an open book as the fourth wall of his little house. So, he can read at night.
Aoi- I think at some point I said something like "Akane gives her a fish bowl", but I think it might be more of a bin of water. Like, a rectangular bin, long enough that she can kind of swim laps. Her bed is a shoebox with a blanket inside. She has a cup of water, separately, in case she gets thirsty, and a plate with a doughnut on it (covered by plastic wrap, to avoid attracting bugs). And I think Akane might at some point worry about Hina having a balanced diet, so maybe there's some chicken alongside the doughnut. As a late night snack.
Yasuhiro- Bowl with a blanket.
Toko- Gundham creates a little room. Like Nagito, he fashioned a bed with an actual attempt at a sturdy box covered by a cushioning surface in addition to whatever serves as a blanket. He makes sure she has paper, something to write with, and a light. Every night, he makes sure her living space is clean (no dust or pet hair that would make her sneeze) before he sends her to bed. The walls and ceiling of her terrarium are formed by an upside-down shoebox with a hole cut into it for a door. She also has a window cut into it, through which she can drink from another hamster-style water bottle if she wants. On one hand, I'm sure Gundham makes every attempt to prevent his hamsters from bothering her, but on the other hand, I like to imagine Toko cuddling with one of them in her sleep. Like, Gundham wakes up and sees only three hamsters in whatever cage or habitat they sleep in, and he takes the box off of Toko's room and find her cuddling with San-D. I just think it would be sweet.
Sayaka- Shoebox with a blanket. And there's a kazoo in it that is too big for her to use, and maybe a small teddy bear or other stuffed animal.
Mukuro- Shoebox with a blanket.
Leon- Shoebox with a blanket, but there's also a fun tiny obstacle course. And the hanging plant is taken down, so that Leon can climb into it if he needs to, because Nekomaru knows all about late night bathroom breaks, and there's no judgement here. It's all fertilizer, man!
Chihiro- Kazuichi goes all out. Chihiro has a working shower, a working toilet (empties into the trash can), a working fan, and a covered living space with a motorized door.
Mondo- Shoebox with a blanket, which Fuyuhiko places on a small table that he pulls close to his bed, on the side that can't be accessed from the door. There's another shoebox with a blanket (a decoy one) on the dresser, but Mondo sleeps in the one by his bed.
Taka- His bed is a shoebox with a blanket, but it's in bed with Mikan rather than on a dresser or table. She stuffs pillows around it, to make sure it doesn't fall out of the bed while she's sleeping. (That's just where he sleeps; he does have a little space on the dresser, where he can get dressed and walk around and stuff.) Sometimes, in her sleep, Mikan will reach into the box to make sure he's still there. So, like...imagine you're sleeping and a giant finger just lightly grazes your back.
Hifumi- Upside-down shoebox with one wall removed and a blanket under it. Instead of the dresser, he's on her photography desk in the far corner, so when he wakes up, he steps out of the box and looks at her photos in the light of the rising sun.
Celeste- Chiaki builds an elaborate, multi-shoebox house that is cool but completely impractical. There is a bed, but it's very difficult to navigate to. Celeste just drags her blanket down to the cushioned seat and sleeps there.
Sakura- Hiyoko just straight up puts Sakura in bed with her, with nothing to prevent Hiyoko from rolling over and squishing her. She also sleeps with a few stuffed animals and a bag of gummy bears.
Junko- Shoebox with a blanket, suspended where the hanging plant once was to avoid letting her get into any mischief while he's sleeping. (Imposter has calculated the elevation, relative to her size, and determined that if she fell or jumped, she wouldn't die; she would just be too injured to do anything else.)
Mini Senpais AU
Now, let's see the standard THH room. (Except ignore the sword, lol.)
The viable surfaces there are the table, desk, and shelf.
Nagito- He's on the table, which is pulled relatively close to Makoto's bed, with a bridge between them so he can wake or otherwise access Makoto if he needs to. He has a flashlight and some reading materials. His bed is a shoebox with one side cut out and a blanket inside. He has a pillowcase acting as a shade/tent over his living space. He also (upon his own request) has a rope or ladder allowing him to climb down to the floor if he wants to. It's pretty cool.
Hajime- Shoebox with a blanket, on the shelf. Specifically, the part of the shelf that can't be seen from the door. And Kyoko might use strategically-positioned laundry to keep people from looking in that corner too closely. It's against the rules to let one's senpai die; best to be careful. She can't solve the mystery if she loses him.
Sonia- Byakuya takes the drawers out of his desk and makes that emptied space Sonia's room. A watch box serves as the bed, a cufflink box serves as her wardrobe, and a handkerchief hangs as a shade for privacy. At least for the first night; he'll commission one of the other boys (probably Hifumi) to build something with a roof. Namely, it would be a four-wall dollhouse that opens with a latch and hinge. It stays open all the time, though, because Sonia feels kind of claustrophobic, knowing she can't open it once it's closed. Byakuya didn't intend it as a power trip; it just seemed like the most luxurious option. Also, there's a jewelry chandelier. Byakuya interior decorates the crap out of that thing.
Akane- Shoebox with a blanket, on the desk. Hina also pulls out the drawers to act like a ladder, so Akane can wander the room as much as she wants. And there are snacks in the top drawer. The issue is, Hina likes to run laps around her room in the morning, and Akane thinks it's fun to run around while she's doing that and narrowly avoid getting crushed, which is terrifying for Hina.
Teruteru- Shoebox with a blanket, on the table. There are windchimes dangling above it, and whoever wakes up first rings the windchimes.
Gundham- He's on the shelf. Toko probably gives him a towel from the bathroom to sleep on. It's soft enough, and he can fold a corner over himself for a blanket.
Ibuki- Pillow on the shelf.
Peko- Shoebox with a blanket, on the desk.
Nekomaru- Shoebox with a blanket, on the shelf.
Kazuichi- On the table. Chihiro initially goes the shoebox-with-a-blanket route and feels pretty proud of it, but finding out that a lot of people did that and considered it the low-effort, obvious option, Chihiro feels ashamed and tries to build something with the tool kit. It doesn't come out very good, because they've never built anything like that before, and Kazuichi reassures them that he likes the shoebox. It's comfortable. It works.
Fuyuhiko- Shoebox with a blanket, on the table.
Mikan- Taka sets up curtains all around the desk so she can have privacy. He makes a bed for her out of his watch box and makes sure she always has food and water in her living space. She has a call bell in case she needs anything.
Mahiru- Hifumi makes her house before he makes one for anyone else, which accidentally results in hers being the most basic one. It's like a birdhouse, which she doesn't mind; she can go in and out of it without needing to ask for help, and she has the privacy of four walls. Hifumi's glasses case is her bed.
Chiaki- Celeste asks Hifumi to build a dollhouse for her. (The open-front kind.) Super aesthetic, super functional.
Hiyoko- She's on the shelf. Rather than on top of the shelf, Sakura gives her an interior level of the shelf, which she lines with a blanket and fills with soft things. (She found some stuffed animals in the warehouse, and Hiyoko likes them a lot; she sleeps on the tummy of a stuffed rabbit.) And there's a bell, in case Hiyoko needs something.
Imposter- There is no telling where Imposter is, in this one, but for the moment it seems he's just outside the school doing despair stuff.

PMMM Rebellion: Okay, so which timeline are we in now? Madoka's a magical girl already and witches still exist. The one before the main series, since Mami is still alive and Kyoko's their friend? I really wanted to see the final timeline. That's not what a crescent moon looks like. They changed Witches to Nightmares, but I have no idea if that's a clue or a retcon at this point. Nope, there are blimps, fool-proof tell of this timeline being broken. Oh god, these subs are using first names even when the audio uses family names, I hate it. (They also keep switching from centered to left side of the screen. I should've watched this somewhere other than YouTube)
For a magical girl show, the main series gave very little screen-time to the actual transformations. Which I'm glad, because I would be so sick of it having to sit through this two and a half minute sequence every episode. (Magical Destroyers also had intricate transformations like this, but at least there they played them in split screen once the three girls teamed up.) These finishing move cut-scenes sure are bizarre, but I like how they captured the first witch (Bebe? I think I've seen it called Charlotte) and incorporate it too
"Turn left"? Is left even defined in this featureless void? All the people at the bus stop are cardboard cutouts, that's a neat effect. The hair flips are back! This may be a false reality, but I really do like Bebe as a character. There's no way that witch was strong enough to pull this off. It seems odd that if this is a real Kyubey, it couldn't tell they're in a labyrinth
Homura is as bad as explaining things as ever, but I'm surprised they went straight to shooting each other. I suppose Mami was the one who murdered Kyoko in cold blood in the timeline that she saw Sayaka turn into a witch, and Homura knows that. Oh shit, I wasn't expecting the fight to end like that
This Sayaka remembers a timeline where she lived, not the final one, interesting. Calling it, witch!Madoka's pocket dimension with all her friends! Raising them like Tamagotchis. Oh, or Homura immediately deduces that Sayaka is the witch, okay. Makes it even funnier if she's the one who brought Kyoko in to play her girlfriend
Yeah, get those anachronistic blimps out of here. I never trusted them. Is Homura really the witch? Driven to despair from losing Madoka, subconsciously plucking the girls from different timelines to populate her dream world?
Way too much lore dumping from Kyubey, and more terrible alien writing. The incubators can't do research if they don't have curiosity. I was enjoying this movie until they brought this shit back
This is trippy as hell. I like the visual callback to the episode 7 fight when Sayaka releases her witch form. Oh yeah, makes sense that all the proto-witches in this timeline would be working with Madoka, since she took them into herself before they went evil; but they'd have the powers of their witch form because that's shaped by Homura's memories of other timelines. It's still a little unclear to me why Homura needs to die in here; are the observer Kyubeys also trapped by the seal, and can't report what they learned if the soul gem just self-destructs?
Tbh Homura's ultimate heel turn does kinda make sense. I actually expected her to finish what Madoka started and get rid of magical girls altogether, but then the franchise wouldn't have anything else left to sell 🙃 Very funny seeing that Nagisa(?) is also here as a middle schooler. (I don't think that name was ever said in the moie, but the subs swapped it for the one time Sayaka said Momoe-san.) This is a cool reversal of the original timeline, although it's actually closest to the penultimate one ... which I guess is the N-2 timeline now
Oh come on, they fucked up the moon even more in the post-credits scene

i wanted to try doing 'what i read this week' posts so. heres my first one where i write essays ab everything i read

this week i read: ch 0-39
i really loved the main character, kyoko mogami. i think a lot of modern manga/hwa don't give the female lead as compelling a story as the male leads, and to start, i thought it'd be the same here.

SPOILERS AHEAD, but she has the typical absentee parents backstory. i think her dad is dead? either way she lived the majority of her childhood with sho fuwa's family, and so i thought her backstory was just to build the idea that 'she lived her whole life for sho'. so imagine my excitement when we keep getting hints of her absolute HATRED towards her mom? the way she hates her mom yet still subconsciously craves her acknowledgement and still gives into those habits she formed to get her mother's approval..... its delicious. i love it.
also, beyond the backstory, kyoko is almost like a shounen lead the way she can lock in and unleash her like? star aura?? related to that i love her evil aura gags they're so funny. her star power doesn't feel super out of place though, there's always buildup and a reason she's able to act so well, like the experience she had at the fuwa hotel helping her beat ruriko and her lifelong wish for female friends in the curara arc. idk i just love love love kyoko and unlike stupid tsuruga i COMPLETELY support her revenge. KILL SHO GRIND HIM INTO DIRT!!!
she's so real...

taming the munchkin
next rec is taming the munchkin!! theres only like 5 chapters out yet but thus far it's really cute ^_^ same artist that did 'raised a black dragon' so its absolutely beautiful
my favourites are definitely the behemoth sisters (who i sense will have few to no appearances soon since their arc is almost over but who cares i love them)

yes its typical 'tan woman strong. tan women violent' but i really truly love their bond and how they balance each other out. the way they were instantly cast out of the community by 'random bullshit a white guy made up' felt like maybe author was going to do something with them but nah they got saved by a white girl. not my favourite thing ever but three cheers for the bourgeoisie i guess !! either way read it for the male lead he's off his rocker and rather evil which everyone finds fun <3 he also has an animal sidekick so i nominate him for magical girl of the year
heres my final recs but WARNING all oneshots/ oneshot series

oneshot: boku no kotori san
SO FLUFFY like actually. and one of those oneshots that i really think is best staying a oneshot like yeah i want to imagine how the rest of their lives go!! i want to pretend theyd be happy even knowing that they probably wouldnt be!! really sweet left a good taste in my mouth 10/10 read it now

oneshot anthology: Shiotaiou no Mobuko-Chan (a series of cold side characters)
pretty generic stuff but i think the second and fourth stories were cute. i liked the 4th story ml and the relationship in general in the 2nd story, both of them were on a similar cringey wavelength.
this ended up being. really long. heres to another week of sitting in bed and waiting for vadtd updates!!! woo!!
