RUSHING THROUGH THE RAIN TOGETHER TO FIND SHELTER, THE SENDER AND RECEIVER, BOTH DRENCHED TO THE SKIN IN THE DOWNPOUR, FIND THEMSELVES GETTING FRISKY IN THE SHELTER OF A SHITTY MOTEL ROOM. there was something eye opening about being drenched in cold rain. icy droplets awakened the senses, even as the two agents ran down the street, having abandoned the car who's engine decided to give up on them, just like everyone else had. fin wasn't one to complain about the weather ( there were plenty of other things to complain about ), but by the time they had reached the door of their motel room, finely was ready to curse nature itself. he didn't get that far. in the dim lights of the room, fin begins taking off his coat, only to catch jane doing the same. he can admit that his eyes wander along her torso, the way her button up shirt clings to her breasts and waist. there's a moment when fin simply stands there, staring, but once he's caught, he feels as if he does what any sane man would do. he walks over to his partner, reaching out large hands to begin to undress jane, uncaging her chest from the uncomfortable dampness of her shirt. beneath, the skin glistens with the same rainwater that drenches them both, and fin brushes a thumb against the wet, glancing up at jane after he does so. 'thought you might need some help,' are his only words, as a hopeful gleam settles into his eyes. @solesoldier.

Hot take and not to be a killjoy or the shipping police but people treating Viktor or Jinx's aroace headcanons as if they were canon is not the revolutionary take people think it is.

Headcanons are always all right but we have to acknowledge that they are somehow damaging when they apply to stereotypes. It might not be the case for everyone but most of the time people unconsciously assume that disability/mental illness=asexuality. These headcanons erase the freedom of attraction from people who are already seen as unable to have sexual/romantic experiences/desires, when it's completely untrue and harmful.

You can headcanon Viktor and Jinx as aroace, but I have seen people changing their minds once Viktor is no longer disabled (s2 with all of his other forms) and Jinx is no longer as mentally ill (alternate universe Powder). And it speaks wonders of how people see these characters.

"I never thought about Jinx being able to feel romantic/sexual attraction until s2!" To believe she's actually only capable of that when she's not "damaged" is incredibly disturbing. Especially since Jinx has always had a bit of a flirty personality too.

"I've always seen Viktor as asexual, I don't know why!" That's fine. You can headcanon him as ace. But I believe there is a reason behind it, most of the time, if for some inexplicable reason the "vibes" of the disabled character are making you think he's ace.

I say all of this being aroaspec myself, by the way. Headcanon all you want but going to people's posts commenting how "it's weird for you that they have romantic/sexual plots when they're clearly aroace" is not a win at all. It's a headcanon, after all, and it should be treated as such, and that's fine. But it also is damaging to spread stereotypes like these.

Of course the disabled character is asexual. Of course the mentally ill character is aromantic. It's not as revolutionary as you might think, tbh.

Fandom is not activism and it's all right to have any headcanons you want BUT some of them are filled with damaging stuff and perhaps we should look into ourselves more before treating these assumptions as something canon.

kabru is canonically too smart for miscommunication trope. if anything laios would flirt with him One Single Time and kabru catches on immediately and runs it through his mental processor (does laios not know what he's doing? -> no he does. is he doing this to practice?? -> laios would not lead me on like that -> is he aware of how i feel? -> am i aware of how i feel???) and then literally the next time laios is free he schedules a meeting they sit down at the table kabru leans across looks him dead in the eyes and says very calmly on a scale of im just playing to lets get married how serious are u about this

Something I haven't seen discussed yet is not only did buck and Tommy kiss, but they JUST kissed. Tommy kissed him once, just communicating that "okay is this what you want us to do?" And then he set up a real romantic date where he's going to pick buck up at 8 and everything.

Buck who has a shit load of trauma from partners wanting him for nothing more than his body. From always having to be the person adding the romance into every relationship to convince people there's more to him then sex.
