Hey, take a look at wendyliammartin's tumblr. Webtoon officially doesn't tell creators that they're due to return

idk if you'll believe me when i say this (tho i don't blame you if you don't because unfortunately i don't have the receipts on this one, i just heard it from other ppl talking about it ages ago) but this is NOT. THE FIRST TIME. THIS HAS HAPPENED.

for those unaware, Wendy Liam Martin is the creator of Castle Swimmer, another comic that's managed by Bre Boswell (she oversees a LITERAL FUCKTON OF COMICS). Here are the statements made on Wendy's Tumblr regarding her comic's sudden return from a hiatus that's been going on since roughly late February / early March-

Reading this was like reading a tragedy in three parts as Wendy realized her readers knew about her return date before she did. Which is just absolutely insane and - I shouldn't even have to say this - shouldn't be happening.

(btw Castle Swimmer is a very sweet comic and you should absolutely 100% read it!)

Webtoons' communication with their creators sucks ASS and it results in stuff like this happening all the time where creators find out at the last minute when they're returning from hiatus, whether they're even ready or not. IDK how Wendy's viewing this situation on her end but this feels like an absolute load of bullshit to throw her way. I hope she's at least able to get that extra week to prepare but even that feels way too sudden because not only does it not give creators a chance to plan ahead, it also doesn't give them a chance to actually build up hype for their return with their audience.

Best of luck with your return, Wendy, I hope it goes well in spite of the nonsense.

Hear Me Out: M6 as Dnd Monsters

Note: For @vesuviaweekly Prompt of 'Hear Me Out'

So, I had an idea a while back about a monster creature AU where the M6 were monster creatures. They were still themselves just monsters, and it got me thinking as another one of my loves is Dungeons and Dragons, and as most people know that has a big book dedicated to all sorts of monsters. So, with the help of my fellow players and my dm I started crafting some idea of which Dnd Monsters the M6 would be. These are just my opinions after some long thought (and help from others) and if you have any other ideas or maybe a comment or two, please don’t hesitate to comment or message. I would love to hear other people’s ideas.

Asra: Yuan Ti

So originally, I thought of a Naga since that is what I think of for half snake/half human. But when I looked them up in the Monster Manual, I realized that a Naga in Dnd is more a snake with a human looking face. So, I went on to the next snake-based race and settled on the Yuan Ti. Now Yuan Ti can come in many forms as they can have a snake as basically any body part (like really, my dm showed me), but I imagine Asra is the variety that is half human on top and snake below. His snake coloring, I always thought should be similar to Faust with the cornflower snake, and he is a very agile climber and swimmer. Asra also enjoys basking in the sun to warm along with Faust and gives great hugs.

Julian: Were-Raven

 I could make this entire list ‘Were’ creatures, but I figured that would be too easy, so I am giving that honor to Julian. I am doing this mostly because his Reverse form reminds me of Howl from ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ and that always made me think of a raven transformation. According to the Dnd lore Were-Ravens are amongst the most intelligent of the were creatures but are very rare, mostly existing in the world of Ravenloft and Strahd (one of my favorite games to play btw). They also can have three forms: Human, large raven, and human/raven hybrid. In my head I think Julian is a little embarrassed by his raven form, but he does love to fly. He also likes to nest and collect shinny things.

Nadia: Silver Dragon

I wanted something regal for Nadia as well as intelligent and in Dnd lore there is nothing more intelligent or regal then a dragon. In Dnd lore dragons have two gods who were once one, Bahamut and Tiamat. Bahamut is like the father and gentler of the two, having control of the Metallic colored dragons: Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Brass. Silver in particular are probably the most human like and like the cooler weather. They are also highly intelligent and do not enjoy combat, looking to avoid it. I imagine that Nadia’s entire family could be dragons and would be a noble family house.

Murial: Giant (Storm Probably)

Like I said with Julian I could make this whole list were creatures and make Muriel a were-bear or were-wolf, but I felt that would be too easy. I wanted Muriel to be a forest protector as well as be reclusive, to which my Dm, pointed out that he would probably be a good giant. So, giants are often found in homes away from the human world, a lot of the time on mountains or in forests. Storm giants in particular get along with a lot of the native wildlife. They are also known to have magical affinity which of course connects to Muriel. Storm giants are often able to discharge electricity which would be an interesting effect I think when Muriel is upset. I have the idea that he is able to control his size with a spell, though only to an extent and sometimes has to step away into the forest when he has to grow to his actual giant size.

Portia: Were-Cat

Portia was tough to figure out because I didn’t want to just go with Tabaxi (the Dnd cat people) because it just didn’t feel right. So, I lied and made two were-creatures on this list (though I guess it makes sense they are in the same family). Were-cats, like were-ravens, have three forms (Human, cat, and a hybrid of the two) and can communicate with cats. They are also great charmers who have skills in getting out of trouble. I mean I could just imagine Portia turning into a cat and running around with Pepi. I also think she would enjoy getting head pats and scratches behind the ears.

Lucio: Red Dragon

So, I mentioned the Metallics, I now have to talk about the Chromatics. The Chromatic dragons are seen over by Tiamat and a little bit more on the malevolent side. Red dragons have fiery tempers and a great deal of pride which sounds a lot like a certain count. I imagine when he gets angry, he spouts a bit of fire from his nose and grows a bit scalier. He is also very prone to starting things on fire by accident while in a rage. He also has horns that wrap kind of like a goat.

And for a little self-indulgence:

Robin/Lark/Sparrow (My AU Apprentices): Harpies

In my monster AU, my apprentices are Harpies, half bird/half humans. Usually in Dnd lore harpies are female but I can make an exception in this case. Sparrow likes to sing but Harpies are known to lure people with a dangerous song, so she often doesn’t though Julian really enjoys her voice and they both make nests.

Lark enjoys flying and often is seen doing tricks, which is great because he has a very large love to jump off of to get some height.

Robin enjoys watching the sun set from a high perch which is good because Asra also enjoys climbing, and snuggling.

"Oh, thank you very much, I'm glad to try for all of you, but then I have to try even harder so that I don't fail in difficult times and you don't get disappointed." You answer the princess with a smile, thereby refusing her offer.

"Oh, I was hoping for your company." Dramatically, the princess raises her hand to her forehead. This is followed by a tea party for two with cookies and funny stories from both sides.

Yes, she will sometimes say something that sounds like "manipulation" if this statement is true. But Sonya does not want to do anything bad to you. It's just the one way that works for you. At the beginning. But she herself is very ashamed, therefore, in ordinary conversations, Sonya will try to convince you that you do not need to work so much. And when enough time has passed for you to accept that fact a little. These "manipulations" will go away completely. Then Sonya herself will not hate herself for making you feel.

She will do her best to answer you with the same good that you give to everyone. If she finds out that you're in trouble or you just want something. She will find it and bring it to you, even if you refuse.

Miu Iruma.

Your communication from the outside looks very comical. Usually the other classmates look at the two of you and smirk. Especially because of Miu.

"Oh go fuck me suck me hahahaha." Once Miu said this to you in front of the others, when she got tangled in the garden and fell, and you offered your help.

"Suck? Are you hurt? Is there poison? Oh God, wait, please, I'll bring everything!" You almost ran away.

"Okay, that's it, c-that's enough, I was joking, it's okay really, don't worry, look, I'm fine." Miu stood up and twirled in front of you and left quietly.

Usually she does not act vulgarly around you, because you take her literally. And after one incident, she really watches her tongue.

"Help? Help fucking yourself, and then help others, but definitely not me." She said emotionally and immediately regretted it when she saw your expression. "Oh, I-I'm sorry, I'm sorry, wait!"

After this incident, the girl became a friend-mother. She's not trying to change you or anything. Miu only scolds those who ask you too much for help, even if they see that you are already tired. And for you, she is simply trying to improve your vacation or simplify your work.

Bonus.

Monomi.

Rabbit loves you as much as his other classmates. But your kindness makes me shed tears.

"So did you find out anything new? How do we get off this island?" The meeting of classmates began.

"Let's be quiet, otherwise this Monokuma will hear his assistant Monomi." Hinata began to speak, when suddenly a rabbit appeared.

"Guys, I could help you." Monomi says happily, but no one pays attention to her.

"Hey, what do you want to tell us?" You asked good-naturedly, sitting down on the floor at her level. While others were looking at you.

"What are you doing, Y/N? She works with Monokuma, and will you listen to her as well?" Souda asks suspiciously. And in the crowd you can hear Saioji chuckling.

"She was with us before he came, she suffers from his appeal to her, she takes care of us and the local nature. Why are you so callous to her? She tries to help all of us and we are here to save us, but the mastermind was on the move ahead!" You are hugging a white rabbit, who was previously very stiff and constrained due to social awkwardness, and is now ready to cry from such a speech.

Maybe the trick caught some by surprise, but still made someone at least listen and feel sorry especially when the rabbit was no more.

I love this comic, it's so cute. Colors are a 10/10 (you'll see a trend about me talking about colors).

Of Swamp and Sea

Love this comic's art style. A lot of the time Webtoons Creators use 3D backgrounds (which is 100% understandable, making webtoons are tough and anything you can do to make things go by faster I stand behind), but these mad lads are still drawing everything by hand. Colors are a 10/10

Eaternal Nocturnal

God I remember Purpah doing a bunch of MSA stuff back in, 2012/2013 and I LOVED her color choices. I remember when she posted the first art piece with Modeus and thinking 'I reeeaallly want this to be a comic SO BAD' AND NOW WE HAVE IT AND IT'S A 10/10. Highly recommend.

Castle Swimmer

Arial Magic (Completed)

"The daily life of an apprentice witch."

I love the colors for this comic SO MUCH LOOK AT THE CLOUDS!!!! I hardly remember the plot (it's been awhile), but oh boy do I remember the colors.

Sithrah (Completed)

Traveling by private seaplane with her father on their annual vacation, together they explore exotic places and discover remarkable wildlife, and even if it’s only for a few days, she gets everything a seven-year-old girl could hope for. Jason Brubaker does a lot of cool stuff, and I love his colors. Plus I love that he makes his Webtoon comic as a traditional comic first, then broke apart the pages to fit the scroll format. It makes it so that you can have a printed comic AND a webtoon.

Aka I love owning physical comics and I hope more Webtoon originals can be printed. Not just Lore Olympus.

Erma

"Erma is like any other normal child. She goes to school, plays with friends, and even spends time with the family. It just so happens that she is the daughter of a ghostly spirit and tends to use her haunting abilities for everyday antics, whether for better or for worse."

This comic has BONE vibes and I love it so much. I seriously think there should be more black/white wecomics. Not just because manga, no, it makes the process quicker and it makes printing comics SO MUCH EASIER. I love colors, but color correcting for print is a PROCESS.

Okay, I'll rant hehe. And thanks for the recs, I'll check them out.

So, the thing I love the most about LO is the original but fitting take on the mythology. Especially the way the world is build. How Hades for example build the underworld from the ground up. You can see the different time periods by the clothes and buildings, representing the amount of time it took to build it. I also love that at this point it isn't done yet, that Kore (I love calling her Kore like Hades) is working on a heaven like something( can't remember the name).

I LOVE that the humans are (olive)brown, when Rachel could have made them white, like I love that no much. It's representation!!! I like that the gods don't have human skin tones and that they have different body types. It's very refreshing.

Don't forget the plot!!! Rachel made sure to have many storylines that need working out, but don't happen after each other, if you get my point. The plots happen at the same time, just like in the ancient stories. They mingled and in LO they do too.

Zeus is a spoiled dick, but that's the point. I don't know where you are, but I love that Zeus isn't portraited as the almighty man, but as a spoiled big unfair baby.

The amazing female empowerment and you have some queer gods. This was my rant, I can't think of anything else at the moment. I hope you liked it, let me know what you think.

Honestly this is so clever and it makes perfect sense!! Also makes sense as to why she could only control them after her transformation.. we know she’s had an affinity to them ever since she was a kid but being able to fully manipulate them came much later. I can imagine her becoming so engrossed with the relationship between plants and water, also since too much or too little kills them, that balance is something she likes to explore, she wants each plant to be perfect.

Ultra powered Ivy? Yep. So if she has control over people’s muscles.. she could literally build an entire army for herself. Now imagine her getting the bosses of all these polluting companies and making them destroy their own company publicly with their own hands, not only is their livelihood ruined but also their reputation. And they are conscious mentally they are aware of everything they are doing but are just completely powerless to stop it, they watch helplessly as they destroy themselves (I know practically nothing about bending btw I’m just going off context so this all may be wrong). When she thinks they have suffered enough that way, then she’ll do what I mentioned before in the last reblog. It’s not enough to satisfy her though, she has to keep going, it’s like an addiction for making people pay for their actions.

okay so like.. I’ve been freaking out about this because the possibilities!!! Her drowning people on dry land.. A++++ idea, especially since just imagine the panic that would cause, all of a sudden their throat just closing up, and their lungs are burning and their mind is telling them to not breathe in but why wouldn’t they.. they’re on dry land. They take a deep breath in and all of a sudden their lungs are filling up with water and they try to cough but it’s not powerful enough, and the sharp breath in after the cough just brings more water. The panic then sets in, hyperventilation that increases the volume of water going into the lungs and they can feel themselves suffocating, eyes watering, clutching their throat with both hands whilst they drop to their knees. What a waste of water, she'll say as she kneels next to the body, looking at the final tear that dropped to the ground whilst they were struggling.

And then trapping them under or above the surface.. yes! I mean I know none of the technicalities about surface tension apart from those amazing pictures of swimmers with the water all still above their head when they break through the surface but from what you described them just swimming back up and then seeing the light, the excitement of being able to break through, and then they stop, they can’t break through, it’s like an invisible barrier and the sun is just there and if they could have just a little more strength they could reach it but it’s just not enough. It’s like her own personal aquarium of skeletons.

honestly Mermaid!Ivy is living in my head rent free right now. In between falling into the water drain and crawling out of the river- yep, I’m running with this. I mean I could make this AU about her hair alone but also the fact that she somehow managed to retrieve Oswald from the bottom of the river quite easily.. you see where I’m coming from here

I’m pretty hard to crack honestly but if something makes my heart go mushy it’s friendship? Like if I see a beautiful supportive friendship of two people who trust each other unconditionally my heart just melts. Cheeta and Patsu of Castle in the sky (my favorite ghibli movie btw)is a prime example of that. Everyone deserves a friend like Patsu!

plastic plants…Listen I’m really not good with flowers or anything green, I killed a cactus once and the palm tree in my room isn’t looking that healthy either v.v But my mum won’t allow me one because of all the dust…

rainy evening 100% I like thunderstorms even more I think they’re relaxing, a nice book/movie, some tea, some snacks and here you have my dream of an evening

ughhhh dammit, I love so many colours especially pastels but if you really want me to choose it’s burgundy? I like any colour with some violet in it to be fair…

My initial thought was “cats!” but I can keep some once I moved out so that doesn’t count. And this now, is goin to sound completely stupid but ..blonde hair. I wanted to be blondewith bright green eyes (I’m a sucker for green eyes)  since I was a small child. My hair is dark brown with a lot of red in it so colouring it isn’t really an option my skintone also doesn’t fit well with blonde hair so rip my aesthetics…

I dreamed I failed my music test, which I was supposed to be writing today but it was cancelled…

I’m more of a painter, I doodle rather often but I feel insecure about my results maybe one day I will upload something. I’m a disaster when it comes to music to be honest…

natural,since I don’t wear make up, I never learned how to use it properly. I’ll look like clown if I would try it now also i feel uncomfortable with it.

Neither I’m terrified of insects (and spiders) of any kind so even a butterfly will freak me out. I love both but I’m more of a cat person.

Im boring. I would like to call him/her by his/her name or a shortform of it. I only use petnames on actual pets. I call them baby, beautiful, sweety etc.

I’m a great cook but my desserts are even better!

I don’t want children but i would propably tell them that it is fine to make mistakes and have regrets, you just need to accept them and grow from that experience!

I wish my family would have been alot more convincing at telling me that “santa is real” ! Every Chrisrmas was hell for the pour soul who had to put on the santa costume because I was a little shit and didn’t believe in santa and searched for proof that he doesn’t exist every. goddamn. christmas!
