Combining the boys’ abilities (and I mean actual combining not just using them at the same time) because I was thinking about it and wow they’re kinda cracked actually-

Raph & Mikey: infinite clones (aka unbeatable) + strength completely unparalleled + infinite cloned chains + the clones are very fast and can fly + potentially reverse any damage on main shield clones or even damage in general

Mikey & Donnie: constructs that also can last much longer than usual possibly forever + potential future vision + every single cable or wire or anything of that sort has the potential to be taken over akin to Mikey’s chains + full telekinesis

Donnie & Leo: pinpoint portal/teleportation themselves or constructs just by knowing where to aim (aka instadeath for any enemy if used right) + telepathy

Leo & Raph: teleporting clones who can grow or shrink at will (which can also be instadeath like above if used right) + said clones can also act as homing spots to switch places with + potentially swap damage taken to clones

Raph & Donnie: they literally can make Voltron, but more than one + basically impossible to destroy shields + constructs can also be cloned

Mikey & Leo: freezing time and being able to move during it + heat death of the universe + “oops hey it’s other alternate iterations of us???” + this is a time and space team up you’re not winning this-

Basically any combo is an instant “you win.” I wanna go further into these combos later and maybe even add or subtract as I think more on it because there’s so many I left out and I can always extrapolate on and explain these ones more, but this was fun and these boys have terrifying powers even without combining them all together.

Seriously, should each of them train these abilities to the best they can be, there is no beating them even if they’re alone.

panels from a scrapped first meet concept (ended up changing how they actually meet) but i love how they look aka: i spent so much fucking time drawing them that i couldn’t just not show y’all

they do still first “meet” when stan does his first tour and takes ford’s identity, but they don’t actually meet-meet until about a week later

she worked as a janitor at dusk 2 dawn at the time and would deliver groceries to the actual ford when he stopped doing his weekly restock (he helped her clean up a spill once so she decided she owed him her life) so they have their first one-on-one convo when she goes to drop the groceries off and stan invites her in to look around as a thank-you when he recognizes her from the tour, and she agrees cause she was originally very curious about why ford never let her into his cabin before when dropping off groceries and then became even MORE curious when he just. randomly charges everyone to come take a tour of the place

So I went to the wiki page for the henghill Bullet & Brain mission of 2.2 looking for some dialogue I had missed and

a) I found something incredibly tasty that slotted into some other thoughts I'd been having, more on that on another day, and

b) I saw this super fun little trivia at the bottom, which!

I knew Penacony characters like Boothill took a lot of inspirations from old movies, but I didn't realize it was even in his and Dan Heng's relationship, that's so cool!!

It fits them very well, it's such a fun reference. "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" was an old buddy Western film (from 1969- nice) about a pair of outlaws. Butch Cassidy was the leader of a gang, and described as clever, affable, and talkative. Meanwhile, his closest companion, the Sundance Kid, was known as a man of few words.

Cassidy's original birth name was much more plain, but similar to Boothill, he took on a new moniker when he became an outlaw. "Cassidy" had been the last name of his beloved mentor, who taught him how to shoot and ride. And Sundance Kid was known as he was because Sundance was the name of his hometown, and it was the only place that had ever managed to catch and jail him, back when he'd been younger (also similar to Dan Heng, but ouch).

These two stick together like glue throughout the length of the film- through Cassidy's leadership of the gang being challenged, through a train robbery gone wrong, through being pursued by mercenaries, and even through fleeing to Bolivia and trying to start over together.

I don't want to say too much more, since the mission title is referencing one specific movie that I've never seen. I kinda wanna watch it now, though, just to see the inspiration that went into Boothill and Dan Heng and how they get along. I just think it's really sweet that these two were literally made to be the best of bros, how lovely is that. 💕

I wonder what Kyoko would've thought of Shigure. She's the only non-Sohma adult in the series who's also in his age group (albeit barely - she's about a decade older than him) and I feel like her optimism combined with her no-nonsense sensibilities would've been an interesting foil to Shigure's morally grayness hidden under a cheerful exterior.

They probably could have bonded over pursuing socially unacceptable relationships and being outcasts in their family (if Shigure was ever able to be even slightly honest with her, that is). I don't think they'd have hung out often, but in a Kyoko Lives AU where Tohru befriends Kyo and Yuki, it's likely they would've had to meet at least once or twice. I can't tell if they'd like each other or if it'd be more of a "polite acquaintances" sort of thing. Probably some awkward mixture of both lol.

G3 has a decent assortment of returning characters, but there are still plenty more that have yet to make some kind of appearance, so I thought it might be fun to give my own spin on a few of them.

These are more quick character introductions than they are fully fleshed out lore dumps, but together they ended up being a little long, so there's only four for now.

Alivia Stein - Given that Frankie Patrol ends with Frankie's parent's being like 'Aww, let's have another one,' it only made sense to start this off by having them follow through with it. Let me introduce you all to Alivia Stein, one of the newest students at Monster Middle School!

Alivia is an excitable, if somewhat scatterbrained, frankenmonster. She can be overly blunt sometimes and come off as rude, but she usually realizes when she offends someone and tries to smooth it over. Usually.

She shares Frankie's enthusiasm for being alive, and thanks to Bunny, she's been snapping photos of every new experience. Unfortunately, she can get a little too into the one and ends up shorting out her cameras.

Fangelica VanBat - A lot has changed for Fangelica in the last few months - A new home, a new school, her mom remarried, and she has a new sister in Draculaura - but she's taking it in stride as best as she can. Fangelica means well, but she can sometimes be stubborn, impatient, and impulsive. This, combined with her friendship with Hisstina, can often get her into trouble.

She and Draculaura got off to a somewhat awkward start. Drac was trying a little too hard to get Fangelica to like her and Fangelica didn't understand what 'Don't Touch' meant. They've been getting along a lot better, but there are still some hiccups. Fangelica just can't keep her claws off of Draculaura's spell books.

Robecca Steam - Robecca is in a bit of a weird situation. Watzie found her parts scattered across the catacombs or buried around the school, and brought them to Frankie so that they could do something with them. Needless to say, Robecca was more than a little shocked to find out what had happened to her, and what year it was.

Robecca may look old fashioned, but she's trying to move forward in life. If she doesn't understand how something works, she'll often spend as long as she can dismantling it to see how it works. Unfortunately, this usually leads to her being late for class. Her friends try to keep her on track, but when the tunnel vision sets in, it's nearly impossible to shake Robecca from it.

Casta Fierce - Casta Fierce may not be a household name in the monster world, but she's a sensation among the humans. A witch who seemingly vanished when word of her powers slipped, she used her magic to make a name for herself among the humans. Of course, as far as they know, her magic is just some off the walls special effects.

She does keep up with monster news, and after hearing rumors that Monster High is allowing witchcraft, she often wonders if it might be time to revisit her old stomping grounds.
