Nature school! 🌲🐣🌱

Holden has been really loving going to nature school over these past weeks. He’s been going for about a month now and seems to love being outdoors, getting muddy, and what he always says is his favorite part — running. 😆 This child has more energy than anyone else I’ve ever met.

It’s weird having him out of the house sometimes still. We’re just so used to all being together as a unit. But, it’s great too. It’s great for him to keep developing those super important socialization skills and it’s nice getting a few hours in the mornings of “quiet” - as quiet as it gets with an 8-month-old at home, anyway.

I went and did pickup after nature school today which I haven’t gotten to do yet. I’m working remotely today and my schedule worked out that I could sneak away for an hour and go pick him up at noon. I got there a bit early and when I walked in, he was so surprised to see me. He ran up to me with a big bear hug and kept saying to everyone “my mommy! everyone, this is my mommy!” 🥹😭 I got to sit in their circle and sing the goodbye song with them, which was freaking adorable.

writing advice for characters with a missing eye: dear God does losing an eyes function fuck up your neck. Ever since mine crapped out I've been slowly and unconsciously shifting towards holding my head at an angle to put the good eye closer to the center. and human necks. are not meant to accommodate that sorta thing.
