Being apart of the Outer Banks cast has been such a blessing. You've created relationships with people you consider family now and who you can count on no matter what the circumstances are. Being on set for weeks on end filming scenes and making memories is what you look forward to most.
You grew closer with Drew Starkey because your characters are dating in the show and always next together on set too. Drew has become someone that you consider very important in your life.
You joined the Outer Banks cast during the second season. Drew appeared in a couple appearances near the end of the season, implying that he is interested in someone— love interest. You recall fans going nuts trying to figure out if this will continue. Fast forward two seasons, and your characters are together.
After a long day of filming, the cast decided to gather for dinner at a local beachside restaurant. The atmosphere was vibrant, with laughter and the sound of waves breaking on the shore. You and Drew were seated next to each other, much to the joy of your cast members, who were closely watching your interaction with Drew.
"Drew, look at the camera," you softly sang, your phone in your hand on the table, Drew in the frame of the video— he was speaking to Rudy across the table. He gives you a look that shows he knows you are heard before looking down at your phone and waving.
"Oh! "Hello there," he smiles even more when he sees himself on the screen—you giggle at the end of the video before sharing it to your Instagram story. 
"You posted it on your story?" he inquires, his body language focused solely on you. "I obviously had to; it was cute," you said as you placed your phone on the table next to your wallet. You suddenly felt nervous in front of Drew.
He raises his eyebrows in satisfaction. "Cute, huh?" He smirks and smiles, patting your thigh.
Fans began to ship you and Drew together as your relationship grew. The chemistry between you two is clearly obvious on and off screen, which is why you perform scenarios so well. Fans go berserk every time you post something on social media about Drew.
You two flirt without even realizing it at times. You will compliment each other as if you were a relationship, but this is nothing out of the norm for you two. Even your cast members have boarded the train and made a few comments about when you'll finish up together. 
You can't lie, he's an attractive young man. There's no doubt about that.
Few hours after you posted on your story, fans have been discussing the video you shared in which Drew looks at you as if you are the most beautiful person on the planet and no one else is present.

Today, you and the cast will be doing interviews all day to promote Season four. For the first portion, everyone will sit in the same room as the interviewer, but thereafter everyone will be separated.
"Alright, everyone," said the interviewer, "we've got some fun questions from fans today, and they're dying to know more about the dynamic between some of our favorite cast members."
Everyone said "Oooo," anxious to see what else the interviewer would say.
"Let's start with a fan favorite," the interviewer added, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "There's been a lot of talk about the chemistry between you two." She pointed to Drew and you. "Care to share any insights on that?"
Your stomach dropped.
The question hung in the air, drawing a chorus of “Oohs” and playful nudges from the cast. You felt your cheeks heat up as you exchanged a glance with Drew. His blue eyes sparkled with amusement, a smirk playing on his lips
"Well," Drew said, leaning in slightly. "Y/N and I have always been close. We simply clicked, you know?"
"Really?" the interviewer asked, lifting an eyebrow. "Because the way you two flirt on and off set is pretty convincing."
You laughed and shook your head. "We simply have fun with it. Drew is a terrific person, and we like joking around. "It keeps things moving on set."
"From our first reading together, I knew she was going to be a great co star of mine and we've formed an amazing bond throughout the years" Drew says with his hands. In gratitude, you give him a pat on the back.
Your cast mates' eyes are constantly drawn to you and Drew since they can tell you have mutual feelings for each other. Granted, you two have scenes together all the time and have developed a strong bond. However, you consider being more than friends with him.
The interview continued on with more questions popping up that were exciting to answer. In the back of your mind you were thinking about the question about Drew and you— do you want more?

Later that evening, you and Drew returned to your apartment and relaxed in your living room. The city lights outside your window gave a soft glow across the room, and the steady hum of the air conditioner broke the silence. You'd both changed into more comfortable clothes, eager to relax after a long day.
"Today was something, huh?" Drew murmured, breaking the silence as he sprawled down on your couch, seemingly at peace.
"Yeah, it was," you said, sitting next to him. "They really went all in on the whole shipping thing."
Drew chuckled, a deep, warm sound that made your heart race. "Yes, they did. "Makes you think, doesn't it?"
He sat up, his face instantly serious. "About Us. I mean, everybody sees it. Hell, we see it, don't we?
Your breath became locked in your throat. The playful flirtation, the lingering touches, the way your heart raced whenever he was close—it all hinted at something more than friendship. However, hearing him say it aloud was another. It made it real.
"I suppose we do," you confessed gently.

keigo's nose twitches when he lies.
it's a tell you've known well all your life.
when he was 5, he used to climb up a tree to practice how to "fly". it was really just him trying to parachute down using his bedsheets, but you watched every attempt―cheered him on whether it was a success or failure.
and when his mother's voice echoed down the park, you watched as he answered, "no," when she asked if he was trying to launch himself up to the sky.
you first noticed it then, the delayed reaction a few seconds after he had just covered up the truth: his nose twitched twice, a quick crinkling of his nose bridge. you didn't think much of it until it happened the second, third, and fourth time.
at first, you'd felt betrayed, being pulled by your ankles down into the swimming pool when he promised you he wouldn't. at 10 years old, you held these things like an oath―
"i promise! won't even go near you. see?" he swims away from the ledge you remain hesitant of approaching, hands raised up in surrender as he laughs.
―compelling; believable. trustworthy. water weighs down his otherwise bird's nest hair, taming it slack against his forehead. with his eyes forming into crescents when he smiles, he looks like the very image of a good kid down the block.
you get better at spotting it as you grow up together, and soon enough, you realize, it suits keigo to be a liar. he's charming above all, drips down sweet words like honey to anyone gullible enough to believe it. they're empty promises most of the time, but a lot of people fall for it, you notice. you included.
"i’m not interested anyway," he tells you at 18, right after graduation. one of the girls in your class was brave enough to confess to him and you’re curious how he feels about it, if anything.
being keigo's longest and arguably even best friend means that you know him better than anyone else. you were there when he was ugly, puberty catching up to him slowly. you’ve witnessed him just woken up, groggy from a full night of studying, because despite the nonchalance he often displays, he does care about his grades more than he lets on.
you know when he’s happy, when he talks about his dreams; the excitement he felt when he was scouted as a commercial model for a prestigious agency. you know his heart, beneath all his playfulness, how he keeps the people he values close to his chest and cares about them more than anything.
(you remember every single time keigo has lied on your behalf, nose twitch after nose twitch—that time you spilled grape juice all over your carpet and keigo told your mother that it was all his fault; when you forgot a book for one of your classes and keigo gave you his, taking the consequence of detention in your stead.)
you know keigo well because you love all the parts of him.
so when his nose twitches after he tells you he doesn't care much for relationships, your heart breaks just a little bit. you begin to wonder if keigo has a type, and if that girl fits right into it.

getting over keigo while still being his best friend is a herculean, if not impossible, task.
his career skyrockets and you go to university; your schedules are always in conflict but he still happens to be everywhere you look―ads on your instagram feed, wallpapers on your classmates' phones. there are shorts of his interviews constantly recommended on your youtube homepage and the feeling is both weird and comforting watching someone you know so well be so accessible yet difficult to meet.
you could reach out, sure, but you know he's busy enough as is. you don't think it's his priority to―
"come over soon," he texts you one thursday night.
your heart hammers against your chest, fingers numbing as you nearly drop your phone. it's embarrassing how quickly you type out, "when?"
but keigo is a fast texter, somehow always beating you to your replies first.
"this sat?" he double messages.
and you're about to reply "down" when he chats again, his words leaving an ache in your chest that you can't help but feel guilty for.
"haven't seen u in ages i think i'm starting to hallucinate hearing ur voice or smth."

spending more weekends together makes it harder for you to get over him, sitting on his couch as you both eat takeout; earlier today, you'd stumbled upon some stupid tiktok gossiping about all the dating scandals he's been embroiled in this past year.
you stuff chow mein down your throat, swallow it in big gulps as you glance at your best friend across you; he remains lax and unbothered as his legs cross in front of him, eyes on the the movie you're currently watching. it's a slow and painful process trying to get yourself to be just as uncaring about the entire thing, but with how often keigo lies, you find it hard to distinguish whether his "playboy" image is real or just for marketing.
curiosity gets the better of you when the question slips out, awkward and clearly fabricated.
"one of my friends is asking if i can introduce you."
you avoid eye contact in fear that he'll be able to tell you're making it up. no one from university knows you're keigo's best friend; he's kept you a secret just as much as you've kept him one.
"tell them sorry, too busy to date," he shoves a handful of popcorn straight into his mouth, chewing exaggeratedly to conceal the fact that his nose is twitching. his arm is slung over the back of the couch as you nestle yourself on the other end of it.
the topic is sensitive for the both of you; keigo always shoots down any opportunity to talk about his love life and you're always conscious of the fact that you might seem too eager to want to know what the real score is between him and the girl at the bar, at the photoshoot, at the gala, at the―
"am sure uni doesn't give you much time either, right?"
he changes the subject.

keigo is linked to a lot of people in the industry; it's a consequence of the job, as they say. rumors are neither confirmed nor denied and you're just as clueless as the public is despite the fact that you've known him your whole life and spend your weekends eating greasy takeout on his expensive couch.
you should move on, you tell yourself.
it doesn't mean anything that the throw blanket on his bed is the one you crocheted for him when he turned 21. the picture that sits on his entryway isn't anything more than a memento of youth with his best friend. sure, he makes time for you despite his busy schedule, but that's what all good friends do.

so, you start seeing someone. and when you tell keigo, things change.
it only makes sense that you hang out with him less, but he changes more than the circumstances do and you don't think that's fair at all.
he's started replying to you late, which has never happened before. and he's begun cancelling plans with you at the last minute, only for you to find leaked pictures of him at some bar with a bunch of people hanging by his arms.
keigo hangs around alcohol, but he rarely ever indulges, so having him call you shit-faced drunk right after he cancelled hanging out on the same weekend is definitely something new.
you’re in rare form driving his car to pick him up, hoisting him onto the passenger seat as he passes out to sleep. it’s only when you get to his apartment that he groggily wakes.
the elevator ride has him clinging to the side railings, his groans filling the tiny space. an empty plastic bag is ready in your hand in case he needs to hurl—which he doesn’t, thankfully—but he crashes on the couch as soon as he walks in the door.
you ready a glass of water and painkillers on the coffee table in front of him before grabbing the throw blanket from his bedroom. when you return, he's tucked into himself like a baby, knees curled up and arms crossed around torso in an embrace.
it both endears you and aches; you'd hug him if you could. if only your feelings could handle being closer to him than you should be.
instead, you settle for tucking him in, draping the crochet blanket over him as he snuggles into it.
admittedly, you're still kind of pissed; he did flake on your plans after all. but when he mumbles your name in his sleep, you find all of that anger flushed down the drain immediately.

the first time keigo meets the guy you've been seeing, you don't expect the hostility.
your best friend is your best friend for a reason—he's the warmest, friendliest person you know. even the media portrays him that way: charming and a little too flirty for his own good.
"quit it," you tell him when your kind-of-not-yet boyfriend goes to the restroom. you're pretty sure keigo's the reason he needed to go in the first place.
keigo sips his tea, doing a complete switch-up when he smiles at you and asks, "quit what?"
you roll your eyes, "i'm pretty sure he pissed himself because of you."
he snorts, shrugging his shoulders, "not my fault."
it is completely his fault.
from the moment your not-yet-boyfriend shook keigo's hand, your best friend has done nothing but stare him down―a piercing glare like that of hawk’s hunting its prey. you'd liken his grip to talons digging into skin if you could.
"you're such an asshole," you shake your head resignedly, chuckling. the horrible thing about this is that you kind of liked seeing keigo make him squirm.
"it's my job," he lifts his cup up to cheers.
(you find out later on that this is when your kind-of-not-yet boyfriend realized it would never work out.)

you're not crying when you tell keigo about the kind-of-break-up. you don't even think you feel that sad about it.
"sorry things had to end that way..." keigo says beside you, legs crossed under half of the crocheted blanket on his couch.
you give him a side-eye and notice his nose twitch. you'd know that fake sad tone anywhere.
"i was starting to warm up to him, you know..."
another nose twitch. you kick his shin under the blanket, the half on top of you rustling on top of your lap, "yeah right, nose-twitcher."
"ouch, that burned," he pretends to be hurt for the theatrics and you roll your eyes, chuckling in return.
everything about this moment is everything it should not be―it's too comfortable, too familiar, too easy. your relationship with keigo is everything you want but can't have and times like this remind you especially of that fact.
he's your best friend―
"why'd he break up with you anyway?"
―and is the reason why you can't seem to make it work with anyone else.
"i don't want to get in the way," your kind-of-ex started. you looked at him, confused.
"you have feelings for him," he further explained, "and it looks like he feels the same."
your kind-of-not-yet boyfriend said he'd caught that moment at the coffee shop as soon as he got out of the restroom―you and keigo laughing as you clinked cups.
you blink away the memory, shrugging, "don't know, just said it wasn't working out or something."
keigo hums, a beat of silence passing between the two of you before he speaks up again.
"well, it's his loss."
you turn to look at him and find sincerity; you're sure he means it, just not in the way you want him to, an awkward "thanks" mumbled under your breath.

things with keigo go back to the way things were, but not exactly.
his schedule miraculously clears up on the weekdays too, and he begins visiting your apartment to take you out for brunch whenever he finds the time.
he also stops going to bars and a whole year passes for him without any dating scandal, except for when he attended your graduation.
you try not to feel too happy about it, but when he's asked about the nature of your relationship, he says that you're important to him. the answer is still vague, but it's infinitely better than the way he used to evade all the previous ones.
"i'm rebranding," he tells you when you mention something about how you haven't seen any gossip tiktoks about him lately.
you push down the hope that fizzes in your chest, even when the biggest change of all is the fact that you think he's gotten clingy.
"wanna stay over again?" he asks you on a tuesday night as you're having dinner, on the table this time. you've already been here for the past two days.
you eye him suspiciously, "are you scared of your apartment or something?"
"no."
"so why?" you take a sip of water.
"no reason," he copies you, bringing his cup up higher to hide his nose; it twitches before you can catch a look.
"well, i have an early day at work tomorrow," you check your phone, "so you have to give me a better reason."
you stare at each other for a while, the silence suddenly turning a touch heavy, like suspense building up to an important scene.
he blinks. you blink.
you watch him intently, see every thought that crosses behind golden irises. he juts his lips out slightly, as if contemplating what he should say next, if he even should. it's unlike any expression you've seen on his face before, and you'd say he almost looks nervous if you only had a reference of how that emotion translates on him.
then he takes a small breath, closing his eyes half a second longer than a blink before opening them again, directing his gaze at you.
"it's better when you're around."
oh.
you don't exactly know how to respond to that; you know you shouldn't read into it too much, but then he continues―
"and i miss you when you're gone."
your breath is on hold, a measly "oh," drawn from you. time feels suspended at this dinner table, your brain finding words to say.
keigo doesn't let go of his gaze and his nose has not twitched.
you try to push it further.
"i'm," you start, already stuttering, "i'm sure you'll survive a day without your best friend."
the chuckle that escapes you gives him an option to downplay this entire thing—to turn it into a joke and make it clear once and for all that you stand no chance feeling the way you do.
except, he doesn't return your laugh. his gaze softens as he holds his stare, the corners of his lips curling into a small smile.
"and if you're more to me than just my best friend?"
you search for any sign that this is some cruel trick keigo's playing on you, that he's lying to get some kind of reaction again. but there's nothing—his nose completely still as he awaits your answer.
a/n: mostly unedited, this is so long help. at some point i started envisioning gojo ngl 😭 anyway this is my first time writing hawks! i'm not so sure if i got his character right because he's complicated but!! i enjoyed writing this (clearly with how long it is 😭😭). he knows that his nose twitch is his tell (reader told him at some point), that's why he tries to hide it sometimes! also he never truly dated anyone haha man is unfortunately very non-committal 🥹 i think getting to this point with reader is a big step! he had feelings for reader early on too but i think he's very careful with it (which is also why it took him this long to do something about it!)

Hi, welcome to Buck just had his oh moment and the color theory of it all.
Usual shoutout to @stagefoureddiediaz because being mind meld with her is what's getting me here lol
First, I'm gonna break my own rule and give too much power to the showrunners, I know I keep saying not to, but hear me out. Buck, Bothered and Bewildered is on Buck's pov, right? That was made clear by the episode and then confirmed in interviews that that was the vision, and well, Tim also said that that scene was from Buck's pov, it's all about Buck's reaction and how he will go crazy about this because he's abandonment issues personified, that is also confirmed with the way we don't see what Eddie is doing until he tells Buck, we are learning things at the same time as Buck is.
Okay, well, why am I going back to 704? Well, Buck's fear of losing Eddie (I don't care what Buck says, he wanted Eddie's attention) made him go completely batshit crazy last time. But it also triggered something really important: Buck's bisexuality. And they just repeated that trigger, but this time with Buck choosing to walk in.
They repeated the bt first kiss structure but with Buck making the choices that create that change. The bt kiss, Buck is working on some bills, Tommy shows up, Buck is spiraling because of Eddie, Tommy kisses him, Buck has the bisexual realization. The 808 scene, Eddie is working on the houses, Buck shows up, he's spiraling about Tommy, Eddie reveals something, and Buck is snapped into the realization. Important thing to notice is that Buck still doesn't fully understand the depth of what his relationship with Tommy showed him about himself, so Buck still might not understand the impact of what his abandonment issues just told him while he was sitting on Eddie's couch. And it's all on Buck's pov.
But Anna, you said color theory.
I'm getting there. Because, well, the bt kiss is blue and red.

Same as 808. So we are evoking the same feeling, especially because of Buck's short sleeves and the buttons (and not a white shirt under this like he had all season lol)

And thinking about the blue and yellow coding Buck's bi arc, he worked his way to lighter blues. He starts with the navy blue colors until that lighter teal tone from the coming out scene.

It's also interesting that in the scenes that are about Eddie in a sense, when he's talking to Maddie and he got it right about it being about Eddie, and the coming out scene being about their friendship, are lighter colors along with Buck matching his background. We don't have the yellow elements but we have that cohesion on the frame composition. (I guess the 606 hoodie also counts since blue and green theory but I don't want to make another image now).

If you're new here, the theory is that Buck worked his way to his blue from darker colors, his blue being the color he is wearing during the coming out scene (and Eddie will find his yellow, but we are not talking about Eddie).
We are back in the darker blue but the composition of the scene is lighter. Buck is literally in front of the light as he is talking to Eddie in the kitchen, and it's the middle of the day.

He matches the background, the couch, the Texas frame, the lighting is also a lot colder than it usually is in Eddie's house. And it's also very important that he is on the couch, because yay couch theory.
But Anna how does any of this prove anything?
Well, Buck is working his way back to his blue while in the darker colors, because while he got the bisexuality part right, Tommy wasn't the right person, and he's finally back in the light, we don't have the dimmed light and the obstruction of his face created by the shadow, dare I saw Buck is finally starting to see things clearer.
But why am I so sure? The shirt he was wearing today?

Buck is back on the discovery feeling that comes with the darker blue but this time he's in the correct hue, he just needs to get to the right shade, and he just figured something out.
Abandonment issues personified just had his oh moment about Eddie at the thought of losing him permanently, sitting on Eddie's couch while wearing his blue.
Other things to notice, Buck knocked but walked in before Eddie could get to the door, he used his key and the knocking was just to let Eddie know he was there, Buck is the one who suggests moving to the couch and the couch ties it back to the couch theory and the 601 dinner, dare I say that even Buck offering to bake for Eddie and the cooking aspect of it all, and the idea that the couch is home and home is a person and for Buck that's Eddie.
Something else is the way that we finally see someone eating whatever it is Buck is stress baking. Madney don't eat at the loft and the chief interrupts them at the firehouse. Eddie on the other hand is DIGGING into those. And food in 911, in media in general, is about connection, and is very pointedly about love here, and the whole stress baking is great because the kitchen is Buck's safe space, he cooks for people he loves, we see that from when Maddie comes back, to the pointed way he gets take out for his parents in 610, to the lasagna, making chilly with Bobby, cooking for the house on 709 and getting Bobby's approval. And the fact that we are getting Eddie eating what Buck's nervous state is creating while allowing Buck to just go through his kitchen to make more because he is not about to not accept every part of Buck Buck offers him is important.
The fact that Eddie isn't objecting to Buck rummaging around his kitchen is also important in the way the show uses Eddie's house in a meta way, kinda like the way the show uses the loft to match Buck's spirits in a sense, how the kitchen is his heart and for family, how the living room ends up being for guests and it's made pointed about the couch his mother bought "for his guests", Eddie's kitchen and the whole way it's the space Eddie allows himself to be vulnerable but there's the thing of honesty, the core of who Eddie is is tied to the kitchen, and the fact that he's just letting Buck move around like it's his kitchen ads a lot. Buck is the only person who walked into the house through the back door, Buck has a key, Buck has been in every room (except the bathroom but I think they are saving that for buddie canon), that's home for him too and Eddie never thinks to question and Buck never thinks to doubt it ("this is Eddie's house, I'm not really a guest").
Anyway, Buck oh moment real. Buddie 8b real. Color theory got me so high I'm wondering this is what doing hard drugs feels like. I think this is all I have to say. I might come back, who knows? I don't.

Me: Yeah, we have a love-hate relationship with vigilantes. Red Hood saved August's life once, though, so we are very grateful for that.
Vicky: Interesting.
Damian: Not really.
Vicky: Moving on. August, you are French, correct?
August: Oui, oui, madame.
Vicky: Oh, how charming. What was it like for you, moving from France to the States?
August: There was a bit of culture shock, to be sure, but my family is wonderful and I'm thankful to have them.

Damian: And yet you annoy us.
Me: Dami! Be nice.

Vicky: Aww, he's just jealous.

Lilia Facts Part 33: Liia and Idia (pt2)
Idia’s dorm vignette revolves around him and Lilia, with Idia calling Muscle Red his “one and only trusted companion."

Idia describes Muscle Red as considerate and “the nicest guy” and is moved by his interest in an idol group that Idia recommends.
Idia says that it would be great if they could meet in person and Lilia says he would gladly visit, but Idia turns him down on the excuse that he lives somewhere far too remote (Lilia: “What a coincidence. It's the same for me.”)
Lilia is relieved that they decided not to meet in person, saying that he would have lost his gaming buddy, and he is impressed by Lilia’s maturity.
Idia says, “I'd do anything for him! Making a playlist of song recs, gifting him a paid livestream pass, you name it!”

Idia is able to purchase a ticket to a concert for his favorite idol group and immediately shares the news with Lilia, saying that he wonders if they will be able to catch a live show together some day.
There are many instances where the two characters come close to realizing who they are to one another: Ortho announces Idia’s handle, Gloomurai, to everyone in the room at the conclusion of Phantom Bride, but it seems that Lilia had already left.
Ortho is Lilia’s interview for his second birthday vignette where he tells Lilia about Idia’s “all-night gaming binges.”
Lilia and Idia interact directly in Book 5 where Lilia says that he has “been known to enjoy a spot of gaming,” but the conversation ends there.

Silver explains to Idia that his father often plays online games late into the night just as Lilia appears, asking Silver about doing an “ultra-hard quest” together, right in front of Idia.
After Silver and Lilia leave Idia says, “I normally avoid people like the plague but honestly, (Silver’s father) sounds like the kinda guy l'd actually like to meet someday. If he exists.”
Ortho seems to come very close to making the connection on his own in Book 7, saying that Idia has said that Muscle Red is a “calm, mature man” who “and goes out of his way to try dangerous stunts and usually takes a dive” and has a very unique play style.
At Lilia’s farewell party Ortho says, “If I were to compare him to someone here, well…” but he does not continue the sentence, with the scene picking up with Ortho thanking Lilia for the party invitation.

911 8x08 thoughts and freak outs!

What do I say about this episode? 😶
Uhm…
Well, my first reaction was this: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! 🤣🤣🤣
And I mean this in a very good way! 😏
I’m just going to start with the thing that made me go AAAAAH! In the first place:
Eddie and Chris! That scene was heartbreaking and when Brad talked to ‘Edmundo’ about his estranged son it was a great moment. Eddie has started to realise he has to act NOW, because he son is growing up without him and he doesn’t want that gap to become any wider. 😭
Side-note: Fuck the Diaz parents big time! They suck! 😠
So Eddie decides to move to Texas, which is so very much the wrong thing to do. But I get why he’s considering it. The right thing to do for him would be to go to Texas, talk to Chris and telling him he needs to come home, back to LA. But I don’t think Eddie is ready for that yet. He’ll need some time to get there, but he’ll get there in the end.
Which leads me to that one scene with Buck. And OMG! In the seven years that I’ve been here, shipping Buddie, I’ve seen a lot scenes between them that suggested something more, but it was never really anything concrete… you know? 🤷‍♀️
This scene? It was like being hit over the head with a sledgehammer. Buck just walks into Eddie’s house and Eddie’s okay with that. He’s teasing him about the tablet and Eddie lets him. They know each other through and through. And Buck’s face when Eddie told him it was in El Paso? That was interesting. And of course he wants to help Eddie. It almost feels like they’re buying a house together for a moment there. But then…
Then when Buck’s sitting on the Diaz couch (yes… hello couch theory, great to see you again! 😂), his face falls and there is something there that wasn’t there before. Guys… we just witnessed the very early beginnings of Buck’s ‘OH’ moment. Eddie making plans to move will help Buck realise just how much he truly cares for Eddie. 🥲🥲🥲
So, this is it. This is THAT scene we’ve all been hoping for.
I feel unwell.
In a good way.
The Buddie-arc has officially begun. 😋🌈😁☀️
So unwell right now.
Still in a good way.
But oh… this is going to be such a good hiatus! That scene alone will inspire so many writers to write excellent fic, it will fuel us for months and ignite the fandom to speculate and theorise. It’ll be epic! 😎
I wonder if there’ll actually be a time-jump or they’ll just pick up where they left off after hiatus. 🤔

Where was the Maddie storyline they talked about?
Athena’s storyline was actually nice this time. It is entirely possible that something flew over my head when it comes to her scenes as a police officer. But to my non-American eyes, it was a nice storyline. The cart cop kid was a little naive, but he was likeable I suppose. I don’t really enjoy watching people like that on YouTube, but for the show it was okay.
I unexpectedly really enjoyed the Brad storyline. Granted, him rescuing that woman and risking hurting her? That was iffy, but 911 is like HotShots in that respect, you know? We aren’t supposed to take it all ‘that’ seriously. So I can live with that scene. I love the growth in Brad and how he talked that guy from the ledge. Do we think that scene was based on the fact that Jon Bon Jovi talked someone from the ledge a couple of months ago? I think that’s where Tim got his inspiration for this.
So overall, I really enjoyed this episode and I have to admit that I didn’t really expect too much of it. But it managed to surprise me in a few ways. But mostly that Buddie-moment… it just blew my mind. 🤯
I can happily skip into hiatus now. All is right with my fictional TV-show world again.

Firey, eway was actively and fully arguing in bad faith there. I've talked to eway about this exact topic before and they just 100% backslid on everything we talked about. By giving them an inch/benefit of the doubt, you are allowing your own reading of the text to become less coherent in the process.
A lot of this stems from the direction SEGA has taken Puyo Puyo these days. Obviously I'm not saying they're doing all bad, or that they're going strictly to child friendly, but these are some observations I've made. Whether they're true or not is up to interpret.
You're already so much better faith here than eway, tbh. Like, you're not arguing on the same level, you are actually trying to properly read the text as it exists and leave a margin for error.
SEGA has been going a bit more kid friendly with Puyo Puyo as of late, especially compared to the direction that Compile did. Let's comprae some; Compile's version of Puyo Puyo stems from their original dungeon crawler series, Madou Monogatari. This is not new news to most people, in fact it's very common knowledge. However, I'm bringing this up to display the tonal shift SEGA and Compile has. Madou Monogatari was an RPG dungeon crawler, it was gritty, it was gorey, it was less 'kid friendly' and more 'a kid could play this if they really wanted to'. In fact, the majority of Compile villains listed above where from Madou Monogatari games instead of ones released under the Puyo Puyo title.
That's not really true, though.
I've played all of the Madou games, most of them are extremely kid friendly (sometimes more so than the Sega games by a huge margin) and the only real "not child-friendly" stuff in them is in 90% of cases sexual jokes/content, not dark storytelling or gore.
The PC 98 ports of Madou 1-2-3 are extreme outliers that were so badly received by the games' fanbase in Japan that Compile immediately backtracked on them and went back to cutesy art and kid-friendly text pretty much permanently. There's an actual interview in a compile magazine about this that I should probably translate at some point. The idea that Sega Puyo is "more kid-friendly" is something of an urban legend that exists solely due to people seeing screenshots of the PC 98 Madou 1-2-3 ports and misreading them as the norm.
The Count was a villain in Madou Monogatari R. Runelord was a villain in Madou Monogatari S. Yoggus was a villain in Madou Monogatari (Saturn). I sure this doesn't need to be pointed out, but Compile kept a lot of their more irredeemable villains in their Madou Monogatari series. One exception to this is Doppelganger Arle. Doppelganger Arle, while she originally appears as a doppel through the Madou series, a trait not strictly bound to Arle as Schezo also encounters doppels, has her most prominent appearance in a Puyo Puyo title.
That is *PARTIALLY* true, but it's not because Madou Monogatari is "darker", it's because Madou Monogatari doesn't have a need for a large recurring cast, because most of the characters are just mook encounters. All the villains that aren't "redeemed" as Eway calls it (that verbage is so loaded, I dislike it immensely tbh) are characters who never appear again and aren't actual "characters" so much as obstacles for Arle, Rulue, Schezo and Ragnus to smack down. They're glorified natural disasters, basically.
Sega Puyo, on the other hand, wants to keep guys around, so they need to be more interesting and have more depth than "this thing that we cast Jugem on reaaaaaally hard that one time".
Like, think about it, do we care about Runelord in isolation? No, we care about what he MEANS to Schezo's ongoing character development and how his presence ties into the latest developments, such as the bunch of stuff that happened with Schezo in Puzzle Pop.
Does anybody ever draw/write anything about the Count or Yoggus? I drew a SINGLE Yoggus-related commission once for a person I'm not even in contact with anymore, and even that was more of an OC than the actual monster from Madou Saturn.
These 1-time obstacles just aren't characters. They're facilitators. That's a big distinction.
Doppelganger Arle appears as the overarching villain in Puyo Puyo~N (Puyo Puyo 4), and while the non canon light novels give her a more tragic backstory, she doesn't have a concrete one in Puyon. She's simply a scary villain, and she does a good job at it. Due to her ties with being a Puyo character, this means SEGA can use her as they please.
This is also a misunderstanding. Doppel's "backstory" isn't in any of the non canon lightnovels either. It's in a blog post made by a former Compile writer in the early 2010s, of which the original isn't even online anymore, because the social media said blog was on shut down. So in the Compile era, people didn't even KNOW that writer had that headcanon, because it wasn't out there. So this isn't even a Compile era thing, this is a "a single writer had an idea he never used" thing.
As SEGA has taken over, such things have been watered down to make it easier to digest for children.
Uhh, that's not really true either. What Sega did was make the characters more *consistent*
Compile had a HUGE issue where the franchise had no series bible, to the point every single writer would write every single character differently. Even some of the Puyo Puyo Tsuu manuals made FUN of that by pointing out how Arle's character and lore are insanely inconsistent and wondering if that means there's multiple of her running around. So a lot of "traits" people think the characters had in Compile are traits they only had for a single game, then never again, and that directly contradicted what came before/after. This extends across all of Madou and Puyo (and Nazo Puyo)
When Sega came around, the writers there immediately started "clean up" by solidifying what each character is and isn't in a series bible, as is standard in the entertainment industry for any sort of narrative media. So if any traits you have seen anywhere in Compile Madou/Puyo is absent, it's because that trait didn't make the cut for the series bible during the clean-up phase, which served to make everything consistent and coherent.
But, it's also rather frustrating when you want to see an evil villain. SEGA is, of course, capable of doing such a thing, but at the end of the day they do need to make money, and it's easy to make money off kids games.
This is really a bit of a misunderstanding of how Puyo is marketed. It's really not a kids game (in fact, Quest has a disclaimer that you should only play it under the age of 14 under the supervision of an adult, because, it's, well, a gacha game, and gacha games are not made for kids at all), but a "nostalgia bait" game, aimed at millenials primarily. Kids are actually just a SUB-SECTION of Puyo's market, which, yes, Sega is happy to get into the fold to, but are not the primary focus. The primary focus are millenials who grew up with Madou/Puyo in the 90s, which is heavily reflected in the merchandising and the character polls. There's a reason why Arle, Schezo, Witch and Draco dominate the polls and merch the way they do.
The reason we don't get Madou 95 type stuff anymore is, again, as I said above, there was a HUGE backlash against Madou 95 back in the 90s. This is NOT what the Japanese fans want. They want cute slice of life shit with these characters, and they want jokes. I actually had a discussion about that with a Japanese fan a week or so ago, where said fan outright said they don't WANT Puyo to go harder on the lore, because it would ruin so many fandom-wide headcanons, it would be more of a hindrance than a help.
Puyo/Madou was never perceived as a plot-heavy franchise by Japanese fans, and plot-heavy installments always tended to be far less popular than plot-light, which makes it a miracle modern Puyo goes as plot heavy as it does and is a testimony to how much the writers care about writing plots with these characters. Back in the compile days, the most plot heavy entries in the series, such as Saturn Madou, tended to be sales failures that contributed to Compile's bankruptcy. The primary reason why Madou Saturn is such a rare game these days is because it sold very poorly.
I'm not well versed in Aya and Klug's lore, though I know the basics. I'd be delighted to see Aya stay irredeemable, or at the very least difficult to sympathize with. We'll just have to hope I suppose.
And, as I said in my response to eway, this is just eway completely misreading the contents of all the games.
Aya was never portrayed as "evil".
Fever 2, from the very beginning, made it outright clear they are just a desperate victim of racism that stole their life away and that their ruthless actions are a result of wanting that life back, not of "evil".
Thanks for being such a level-headed person in discussing this, but I kinda feel you gave too much effort here... and so am I. >_>

前作までの世界観を踏襲しつつも、まったく新しい物語が展開するシリーズ最新作。プレイヤーは、ペルソナという力を使える主人公となっ���、1日と1日の狭間にある “影時間” で、そこに巣食うシャドウと戦うことになる。学校や街の人との関係がペルソナに影響を与える「コミュ」や、爽快感バツグンの戦闘など、個性的かつ魅力的なシステムが満載。
GOOD メインストーリーはもちろん、「コミュ」や会話など、それぞれのシナリオが練り込まれていて楽しい。「コミュ」を育てることでペルソナも育つので、レベル上げの作業を必要とせず、サクサク進めることができる。弱点を突いた敵に追撃できるなど、爽快感だけでなく戦略性も高い戦闘システムは秀逸。
BAD 似たようなダンジョンが続くため、新鮮味は薄い。戦闘時の仲間の思考に不満を感じることも。
現代が舞台の人気RPG。合体を奥深くする「コミュニティ」をはじめ、弱点を突くことで戦闘が有利になる「プレス攻撃」を搭載。
コミックのように効果音が文字として出たり、ポリゴンキャラが細かいしぐさを見せてくれたりと、フィールド上での演出が凝ってマス。さらに、重要なシーンでは各キャラのカットインも入って、世界観&ストーリーにぐいぐい引き込まれましたよ。戦闘はオート攻撃やチャンス時にたたみかける「総攻撃」のコマンドもあって、テンポよく進められて◎。戦闘フィールドの探索も、仲間が勝手にアイテムなどを探し回ってくれる「散開」などの指示が出せて、サクサク進められたダス。難易度も最初に選べるし、これまでシリーズ作品をプレイしたことがない人もスンナリ楽しめるのでは?

学園生活とダンジョン探索をいっぺんに楽しめる作品です。昼間は人間関係を築き、夜はひたすら冒険。一見昼夜の出来事は切り離されているよう��すが、昼間の行動がペルソナの強さに影響するなど、ちゃんと連動しているのがポイントだったりします。ダンジョンでは、どんどん探索するのも途中でひくのも自由。敵の弱点をつきながら効率よく戦うと、ごほうびとしてペルソナやアイテムがもらえるので、いわゆるザコ戦でもついつい真剣に。まったり遊びたいときにも、アニメーションのスキップつきの通常攻撃が便利。お気楽プレイが可能なイージーモードもオススメですよ。

「ペルソナ」「学園」というキーワードは残しつつも、完全に一新された世界観が新鮮です。昼間の学生生活で楽しめる「コミュ」の話がメインストーリー以上に気になったり、弱点を突き続けることでどんどん有利になる夜の戦闘が楽しかったりと、新しいシステムが作品全体をとおしてかみあってるのは見事。のんびりとした「学生」部分に、なんだかノスタルジーを感じずにはいられません。中盤あたりからダンジョン探索が単調に感じられたり、お約束の1発死でヘコんだりしますけど、そんな細かいことを忘れてしまうほどのめり込みました。夏休みじっくり遊ぶのに最適な1本。

ペルソナ育成にも関係するコミュの存在がおもしろい。限られた時間をやりくりしてコミュを開拓&育てるところは恋愛SLGのノリだし。戦闘システムはシンプルだが戦略性もある。仲間のペルソナが固定されているだけに、弱点をつかれるとザコ戦でも苦労するけどね (先制攻撃が決まればなんとかなりますが)。ボス戦前にはワープポイントがあるので「帰還してセーブし、すぐボスのフロアに戻る」ことができる点も親切。依頼という小目的があるのも○。ただ、仲間の装備手順が煩雑 (ダンジョン内で個別に話しかける必要がある) など、不親切に感じた部分も少なからずあった。

■『ペルソナ』に触れたことがない人に遊んで欲しい1本
『ペルソナ』シリーズの前作にあたる『ペルソナ2罰』から6年という期間がありましたが、なぜ今、このタイミングで『3』を出されたのでしょう?
橋野桂 (以下橋野、敬称略) : 以前から作りたいとは思っていたんです。ただ、『真・女神転生Ⅲ』の直後から、さまざまなタイトルがほぼ同時に動き出して、私たちの時間が空いたことがきっかけですかね。それと、これまでどちらかというとコアなユーザー向けのタイトルが続いたので、これまで関連シリーズで遊んだことのないユーザーさんにも、手にとってもらえる可能性のあるタイトルを出したかったという理由もあります。
新しいユーザーを意識して、キャラクターデザインも副島さんにされたのでしょうか?
橋野 : 表面的にイメージをガラッと変えたいという意識はありました。ただ、それ以上に副島の絵の持つ雰囲気が、このゲームでメッセージを送りたい対象の世代にマッチするという理由のほうが強かったですね。
実際、そのような話を聞いてどう思われましたか?
副島成記 (以下副島、敬称略) : これまでのシリーズでもキャラクターデザイン (※1) もしていましたけど、正直なところを言うと相当なプレッシャーでしたね。ただ、好き勝手にやると変わりすぎるかなと思ったので、変わりすぎないギリギリのところで調整しました (笑)。
完全なアニメーションムービーもシリーズではめずらしい演出だと思うのですが。
副島 : 最初からアニメでいこうというわけではなかったんですよ。『ペルソナ』シリーズは、ほかの『女神転生』シリーズほどクールではなく、少年少女の熱いストーリーだと思うんです。そうなると、キャラクターの表情は一番見せないといけない要素になるんですね。で、何かしらのムービーが必要になったときに、手描きの絵がいいねと。
今までのシリーズに比べて、システム面で大幅な変更が見られますね。
橋野 : システムを変える変えない、ということの前に、「ペルソナ」というものはなんなのかということを考えました。それは実際に心理学で社会に適応するための能力であったり、学園を舞台にしているだけに、若者ならではの葛藤を描いたりといった、根底の部分を考えていったんです。そこをキチンと描かなければ、「ペルソナ」がただの超能力になってしまう気がしたんですね。だから、システムは気にせず、まずはテーマをしっかりと練って、そこにシステムを乗せていくという形になりました。高校生活は3年間で限られていて、だからこそ輝くのであって、卒業に意味が出てくると思うんです。まずそれを描きたかったんですね。じつは最初、ゲームの期間は3年だったんですよ (笑)。
副島 : 『ペルソナ』という以上、学園という舞台ははずせないって話し合っていたんですけど、スタッフから3年はありえない、せめて3カ月だって (笑)。
■作品にこめられた「死」というテーマ
橋野 : 今の社会、とくに若者など “生きがい” が足りていないようなことを耳にしますよね。ジュブナイルとして若者にメッセージを送るとしたら、「死」を見つめ直すことで、今生きている「生」をも見つめ直す、生きがいというのは、死にがいと同義なのかなと思ったんですね。そう考えたとき、ゲームならではの “生きがい” の体験を提供できるんじゃないかなと⋯⋯。ここはあまり詳しくは言えないのですが⋯⋯。
副島 : 今もニートの問題とか、無気力な現状がこの先もずっと続くと思っている人もいるじゃないですか。それを望んでいる部分もあったりして。そういう人たちに死を意識させられればという思いはありましたね。その生きることの区切りをゲームに組み込みたいということから、1年365日に区切られたシステムを作りました。
橋野 : そういうリアルさは追及したつもりです。例えば、街にゴミのオブジェを置いてみたり、人の話し方なんかにもこだわりましたね。このゲームでそれぞれに何かを感じてもらい、少しでも何かよい変化へのきっかけになってくれ���としたら、作った意味があるかなって思います。
■新しい『ペルソナ』ワールドを彩る設定
橋野 : 設定面でいえば、影時間は「死」というテーマを象徴する形で作られた設定ですね。それに、主人公たちが���んなに見える世界で活躍するのではなく、隠された世界で活躍するという組織としてのカッコよさもあるかなってことで作りました。
副島 : 元ネタとしては、人間の脳内時計では25時間あるらしいってところからきているんです。なんで25時間あるんだろうっていう部分を創作的に解釈して、誕生した部分もありますね。
橋野 : あとは月齢もそうですね。最近のメガテンシリーズは月があるだけってことが多かったので、しっかりシステムに組み込みたい。そこから、月をストーリーの流れにのせたスケジュールが完成しました。あともう1つは、タロットの月が持つ「迷い」という意味の象徴として演出的に使ってますね。
ロボットや犬など、主要キャラを学生だけでそろえなかった意図というのは?
橋野 : 単純に、犬を連れて歩きたい⋯⋯という願望がありました (笑)。最初は韓流キャラもいたんですけど、増えすぎてさすがにカットしましたね (笑)。
副島 : 韓流キャラは設定もイラストも完成していたんですよ。サブキャラになることもなく、消えていったキャラですね。
橋野 : 逆にアイギスは最初から登場することが決まっていたキャラですね。というのも、ロボットだけに精神を持たないので、その部分を主人公の感情的な面と対比させたいというのがあったんです。また、本作のテーマである死への恐れがない存在として、欠かせない登場人物だったんですよ。
副島 : コンセプトよりも先に設定があったような気もしますね。なので、ストーリーやテンションもわからない段階で描き始めることになってしまって、描きにくかった記憶があります。
橋野 : はじめ、アイギスがヘリオスって機械を呼び出して、月面着陸するってイベントもあったんですけど、さすがにSFすぎるってことでカットしました。リアリティという面で悩んだんですけど、2009年には完成してないかなぁって (笑)。最初、副島は女の子ロボットというのに抵抗があったみたいなんですけど、アイギスこそがヒロインだからって説得して、なんとか。その反動で、機械むき出しのデザインになったの?
副島 : 別に反抗してそういうデザインにしたわけじゃないですよ (笑)。ただ、ハイテクな感じよりはノスタルジックなメカにしたかったんですね。まあ、半分は趣味なんですけど (笑)。
今回、ぺルソナ使いは召喚器 (※2) を使うことで、ぺルソナを召喚できますけど、アイギスやコロ丸は⋯⋯?
橋野 : アイギスは内蔵型のペルソナ召喚器なんです。コロ丸は、首輪の部分にコロ丸用の召喚器が付いています。
副島 : コロ丸はどうやって発動させているんでしょうね。首輪が絞まるとか?(笑)
橋野 : どうなんでしょうね (笑)。もともとは、覚悟を決めさせるロシアンルーレットからきているのですが。あれは自殺しているわけではないので (笑)。
作中、さまざまなところで前作のキャラらしき人物 (※3) が出てきますが、はっきりと登場させなかったのには理由があるのでしょうか?
橋野 : あまり意味がないので、はっきりとは登場させていませんね。ただ、まったく関係ないというよりも、同じシリーズとして世界のつながりを確認するうえで、彼らは彼らで大人になって生きているという設定を盛り込みたかったのです。
前作までは、スタッフのかたもゲームキャラとして登場していましたね。
橋野 : 今回は、内輪ウケになったら恐いなと思って意図的にさけました。ただ、「時価ネットたなか」は、シナリオ書いてる田中ですけど (笑)。ちなみにあの歌 (※4) の作詞は僕で、作曲がサウンドの目黒氏ですね。最初、西城秀樹の声質でって言われたんですけど (笑)。
歌といえば、今回のBGMの多くがボーカル入りですよね。
橋野 : だいぶハッチャけてますよね (笑)。今回は好きにやってくれていいって言いました。ただ、好きにやっていいぶん、テーマ的な言葉だけを与えて作曲してもらいましたね。そのテーマさえ入っているなら、今までシリーズのしがらみでできなかったこともやっていいっよって感じで作らせたら、好きなジャンルでできて楽しかったみたいです。ただ、ボーカルはバージョンが上がるたびに追加されてきて (笑)。最初ボーカルが入ってないからOKを出したのに、マスターアップの直前でボーカル入れてきたりしましたからね (※5)。
最後に、今このゲームを遊んでいるユーザー、またはこれからプレイするユーザーにひとことお願いします。
副島 : 絵に関していえば、グラフィカルな部分では挑戦的なことをやっていると思うので、最近のゲームにはない感覚で楽しんでもらえると思います。インターフェイスとか、ハッチャけたBGMとかも含め、そのあたりを注目してもらえるとうれしいですね。
橋野 : ある種、ワンパターンな型にハマったRPGに飽きた人にプレイしてほしいという想いはありますね。普通のRPGだったら1週間という流れの中で平日はカットしたと思うんです。いわゆる土日の大きなイベントが続くタイプですね。でも『ペルソナ3』は、平日の何気ない学園生活までキチッと描いている。だからこそ、土日のイベント的な部分がより楽しみになると思うんです。実験的な部分もあるとは思うんですけど、夏休みって長いなぁ (笑) とか、変にリアルな1年間を楽しんでもらえればと思います。

会話を重ねてコミュをランクアップ!
コミュは相手に話しかけて会話を重ねることで最大10ランクまでアップする。ただし、好感度が一定値までたまらないとランクは上がらない。話しかけるだけでも好感度は上がるが、会話中の選択肢でさらに稼げるので、最適な選択肢を選べば成長の度合いは大きく変化する。また、部活動なら「戦車」というように、対象となる人物ごとにペルソナとリンクした属性があることも覚えておこう。

まずは各施設を移動してゲームシステムに慣れよう
主人公が入寮するのは始業式前日の深夜 (影時間)。ここで謎の少年との初対面となる。9日にはオープニングイベントとして、臆病のマーヤ×2との戦闘が発生。戦闘時にはすでに主人公のペルソナが使えるので、弱点を突いて倒してしまおう。戦闘後は主人公が倒れてしまうため、カレンダーのようにしばらく空白期間となる。実際にタルタロスに入るのは順平が入寮した翌日から。最初の探索はチュートリアルのようになっており、美鶴が探索の基本を教えてくれるのでしっかり聞いておくこと。この日を境にして自由にタルタロス探索が可能で、放課後や夜の行動、交番での武器・防具の購入もできるようになる。青ひげファーマシ一は夜も利用可能なので、タルタロスに行く前に準備を整えるといいだろう。

ロングインタビュー
ただのサブストーリーではなくクリアするための力に直結させたい
「コミュ」というシステムはどのようにして生まれたのでしょうか?
橋野 : コミュは、『ペルソナ3』の原案からあったシステムなんです。そこで、僕たちのなかでのテーマがあって、ただメインストーリーのほかにサブストーリーがあるっていうものではなく、コミュというシステムがクリアするための力に直結できるようにと考えて制作していました。そこから、コミュを育てればペルソナが強くなり、ペルソナが強ければクリアもラクになるという形になりましたね。
副島 : 最初はコミュのストーリ―も、すごくあっさりしたものだったんですよ。でも、テストプレイでメインよりコミュのストーリーが気になるという感想が多くて、凝らないとまずいかなってことになりましたね (笑)。
「コミュ」のストーリーはなにかもとになっているものがあるのでしょうか?
橋野 : 部活動のコミュなんかは、スタッフの実体験をもとにしているものもありますね。マネージャーを希望する女子は、ほかの女子から嫌われる傾向にあるらしく、ああいった感じのストーリーになっていたり (笑)。じつはこれにもテーマがあって、できるだけありがちにしてほしいと。でもそこに、何かをあきらめる出来事、そしてそこを乗り越えて覚悟を得るという結果にしてほしいと注文しましたね。あとは、「太陽」なら最後に光を見つけるとか、「悪魔」なら誘惑があるなど、ペルソナのアルカナごとにそったストーリーになるようまとめています。
コミュのキャラと仲が悪くなるシステムも当初からあったものですか?
橋野 : そうですね。実際に、仲よくしている人がいて、ある流行とか流れで違うグループの人とずっと一緒にいることってありますよね。そのあと、仲よかった人との関係がギクシャクするってことあるじゃないですか。そういう関係みたいなものをシステムで再現したかったんですよ。僕自身の体験がよくないだけかもしれませんが (笑)。ほかの人とずっといるのに、その人がずっと時間が止まったように待たれても、それはリアルさに欠けるかなという考えもありましたね。ただ、女の子のコミユ (※6) は、あれを作ったスタッフがすごい凝っていろいろな仕組みを入れたもので、僕が想定した以上に複雑になっていますけど。あと女性コミュは、それ以外にも悩みましたね。ランクが最大まで達したときのイベントの到達点がどうしたらいいのか、と。最終的には、まぁうまくまとまったかなぁ (笑)。あと、最初女性キャラはすべてアルカナの「恋愛」だったんですよ。「恋愛1」「恋愛2」って感じで。でも、同じものを育てるくらいなら、ほかのアルカナを育てるだろうなと思いまして、まだ完成していなかったショップのコミュをカットして、ほかのアルカナ��振り直したりとか、最後までこの部分についてはいじってましたね。
ちなみに、お2人のお気に入りのコミュなどありますか?
副島 : 僕は、「魔術師」のコミュの友近ですね。話はありえないけど、不思議とリアルな友人なんですよね (笑)。
橋野 : 僕は無達和尚ですね。あんな和尚も世の中にはいるのかなぁって (笑)。

月に向かって落ちていく塔それがタルタロス
タルタロスをなぜ塔にしたのでしょうか?
副島 : タルタロスは本来「奈落」といった意味なのですが、1つには登ったほうが達成感があるという理由があります。
橋野 : 個人的には、地下迷宮を降りていくほうが好きなんですけど、今回は絵を優先させた結果塔になったんです。あとは、学園を舞台にしているので、学校をからませたいという理由もありましたね。いくら影時間とはいえ、学校が変化して地下迷宮というのもピンとこなかったので (笑)。そんな、塔にするかどうかも決まっていない段階で、副島から月にそびえる塔というラフスケッチを見せてもらって、これだって感じで進んでいきましたね。
副島 : 一応、自分のなかの設定がありまして、あのタルタロスは地面から月に向かって落ちていっているということになって います。なぜ、そういう設定かは、ゲームを進めてもらえればわかると思います。
■一方的に押し込める、ある意味リアルなバトルシステム
本作では、これまでとまた違った戦闘システムが採用されていますが?
橋野 : 当初、リアルタイムにしたいという案もありましたが、ダンジョン探索はリアルタイムでもいいけど、戦闘は今までつちかってきた得意のシステムを継承したいということで、今の仕様が生まれてきたんです。ただ、プレスシステムもある意味リアルさは盛り込んでいまして、普通ケンカで殴ったとしたら、相手から反撃されるまえに、股ったほうが追撃できるものじゃないかなって。それが、バーティ全員なら全員で押し込んでポコボコにできると (笑)。
さらに今は「作戦」というものがありますが?
橋野 : 今回の戦闘では仲間は自律した存在として描いているんです。でも、だからといって主人公が何も発言できないのはおかしいという考えから、作戦である程度の指示を出せるようにしました。ただ、この魔法を使えというところまで指示できてしまうと、仲間が完全にキャラになってしまうので、そのあたりは自律を尊重するよう注意しましたね。ただ、仲よくなればいろいろ言えるようにもなるだろうってことで、ストーリーが進むと作戦も増えるようにしています。
もう1つ「情報支援」という特殊なシステムを搭載したのはなぜでしょう?
橋野 : 刑事ものとかの映画を見ると、前線で戦う人がいて、後方で支援する人がいて、それでチームが成り立っている。全員が剣を持って突っ込んで、主人公が装備を着替えさせてというよりは、自然な関係、リアルな仲間を意識させるために、後方でサポートするというキャラが必要だろうと。これは、情報支援以外のキャラが自律しているという点にも意識させてはいますね。
通信時に小さな画面が出てきますが、あれはどういったものでしょうか?
橋野 : みんな通信機は持っているのですが、それは機械的なもので、風花の通信は非常にファンタジックな設定のものですね。みんな、風花という情報支援キャラをとおして、さまざまな情報を得る。そこで支援キャラの大切さを意識してもらえればいいんですけどね。

タルタロス探索をスムーズに進めるための基礎知識を解説
タルタロスでは、敵との戦闘以外にも「探索」という要素が大きなカギを握る。そのシステムを詳しく解説していこう。

シンボ ルの意味を頭にたたき込め!
本作はエンカウント式ではなく、敵のシンボルに触れることで戦闘が開始される。シンボルは、敵の種類によって異なるものが用意されているので、まずその違いを頭に入れておこう。また、タルタロスには敵以外にもさまざまなシンボルが存在する。そのすべてをここで紹介しよう。ちなみに、1度タルタロス内部に入ると、エントランスに戻らない限り、下の階へ戻ることができない。ターミナルに関係しているこの基本ルールも忘れないように。
“死神”はダメであります
タルタロスで最強の敵ともいえる死神。序盤で手を出すのは自殺行為なので、出現したらすぐに逃げること。同じ階層で戦い続けていると出現しやすいので、あまり長く同じ階層でウロウロしないようにすること。

ペルソナの合体や工リザベスの依頼を受けることができる部屋。依頼は1度に3つしか受けることができないので、達成したらすぐにエリザベスに報告するクセをつけておこう。
宝箱の種類
宝箱には見た目の異なる2種類のシンボルが存在。階層が上がるごとに中身は豪華になっていく。取り逃さないように!
通常の宝箱。装備品や回復薬などの消費アイテム、お金が入っている。
レアアイテムの宝箱。この箱からしか入手できない装備品もある。
敵の種類
敵のシンボルは全部で5種類。この違いは、主に依頼達成のために覚えておきたいところ。
通常の敵シンボル。敵の数によって大きさが変わるが色に変化はない。
通常に比べ強力なタイプの敵はこのシンボルになるが、動きは同じ。

背後から狙い先制攻撃を目指せ
本作では、敵に気づかれずに「アタック」することで先制をとることができる。先制をとれば、行動が一巡するまで敵は動けないため、かなり有利に戦闘を進められる。ここでは、主人公が装備している武器によって異なる、アタックの特徴を解説していこう。

武器の特性
片手剣 リーチ : ★★ スピード : ★★
リーチ、スピードともに平均点だが、最もバンスがよく扱いやすい。空振りしてしまったときのスキは大きいものの、リーチさえ覚えてしまえば安定性は高い。敵が向かってきたときのことも考えて、武器を出す速さも把握しておこう。
拳 リーチ : ★ スピード : ★★★
拳の特徴は、武器を出すスピードの速さ。そのスピードは全武器のなかでも最速でスキは小さい。ただし、リーチは一番短く、敵にかなり近づく必要がある。レベルが高い敵ほど反応が早いので、高レベルの敵がいるエリアでは不利になる。
両手剣 リーチ : ★★ スピード : ★
武器を出すスピードという点では、ほかの武器に劣る両手剣。しかし、そのリーチの長さはスピードの遅さを補って余りある魅力といえる。敵の背後にさえ回ることができれば、高い確率で先制攻撃のチャンスを得ることが可能だ。
弓 リーチ : ★★★ スピード : ★
リーチの長さでいえば、全武器中最長を誇る弓。敵の視界外からアタックすることも可能なのは大きなポイントだ。ただし、矢の軌道が見えなかったり、アタック後の硬直時間が長かったりと、正確に敵を狙うにはかなりの慣れが必要。
レア敵はこの武器がオススメであります!
反応が敏感で素早いレア敵は、とらえにくい敵。ただし、背後から接近すれば、そう簡単には気づかれない。そこで真後ろから近づき、アタックの出も早めでリーチもある片手剣でアタックするのがオススメ。真後ろから少しズレるだけでも���づかれるので注意。
◀敵の視界外から弓で狙う手もあるが、難易度は高め。
中間試験終了後はついに真田がパーティに加入
連休があるため、コミュのランクやステータスアップに最適。ただし、中間試験前にはゆかりがタルタロスに行かないと言い出すので、学生生活にばかり気を取られず、たまに探索もしておくこと。試験前にタルタロスに行く場合、主人公と順平の2人パーティになるのでできれば避けておきたい。試験期間は試験シーンのみで1日が進み、最終日には真田がパーティ

1moreからボコスカまでの完全チャート
本作の戦闘では、敵の弱点やクリティカルを突くことで敵がダウンし、もう1度行動できる「1moreプレス」が発生する。これを使うことで、敵に行動する機会を与えることなく勝利できるので、積極的に狙っていきたい。さらに、出現している敵すべてをダウンさせれば味方全員による総攻撃「ボコスカプレス」が発生。左ではその特徴を解説!

支援キャラの情報をもとに敵の弱点を突くことは、本作の戦闘では必須ともいえる。弱点を突けば敵は行動不能なダウン状態に。ダウンは敵の行動順がくると回復されるが、それ以外の行動はできない。
弱点を突く!
全体攻撃をはずすと「1more」はなし!
「1more」は、弱点攻擊を当てることで発生する。ただし、弱点の全体攻撃であっても1体でも攻撃をはずすと発生しない。

ダウン状態の敵への攻撃は必中となる。ただし、ダウン状態の敵を攻撃すると、それが弱点攻撃であってもダウンが回復されてしまう。確実にトドメを刺せるとき以外は、ほかの敵を攻撃するように。

通常攻撃でもダウンのチャンスあり!
ダウンは基本的に弱点への攻撃だが、例外として通常攻撃のクリティカルでも発生させることが可能だ。弱点攻撃がない場合に狙え。

出現しているすべての敵をダウンさせれば、全員攻撃である「ボコスカプレス」が発生。これは、行動順に関係なく行える攻撃なうえ、必ず当たるという特典つき。参加する人数でダメージが変化する。

非常に強力な攻撃だが、ダウンしている仲間は攻撃に参加できない。また、主人公がダウンしていると、この攻撃自体が行えない。

作戦を使いこなし、より有利に戦いを進めろ!
「作戦」は、自律して行動する仲間をある程度制御するためのシステム。下に5月までに使える作戦の一覧を掲載するので、それぞれの特徴をつかんでほしい。作戦は主人公の行動順でしか変更できないので、ときには意図どおりにいかないこともある。そこで、通常攻撃のオート戦闘となる△ボタンの「ラッシュ」を使い仲間をコントロールしよう。
▲無駄にHPやSPを消費しそうなときは、とっさに△ボタンを押して通常攻撃に。
「システム」も活用するです!
▶システムのコンフィグから変更が可能だ。
戦闘開始時の作戦は「自由に戦え」になっている。多用する作戦が別のものなら、システムで作戦を変更することも可能だ。もっと も、弱点を突いた攻撃、通常攻撃、回復、補助とバランスよく行う「自由に戦え」は、優秀な作戦としてオススメできる。初期状態はこの作戦のままで、敵の種類にあわせてコマメに変更したほうが安定して戦えるだろう。

自由に戦え 弱点がわかっていれば弱点攻撃を、仲間のHPが減っていれば回復をと、バランスよく行動する作戦。
回復、補助に徹しろ 少しでもHPが減っていれば、回復行動を優先して行う。全員のHPが全快で、ステータス異常もなければ攻撃を行う。
SPを温存しろ SPを消費するスキルを使わなくさせる作戦。ただし、HPを消費するスキルの使用を抑えることはできない。
ターゲットを指示 攻撃するターゲットを指定できる。ターゲットの固定以外は「自由に戦え」と同じ思考で行動する。
待機しろ 攻撃、回復などを一切行わせない作戦。主人公でトドメを刺したい場合やアナライズを優先させたい場合などに使おう。
散会しろ 仲間をバラバラに行動させて、宝箱の回収や上の階層への階段を探させるといった行動をとらせることができる。
敵討伐を優先しろ 仲間をバラバラに行動させて、個別に敵と戦わせることができる。個別に行動すれば1人当たりの入手経験値も上昇。
作戦を得ることが、勝利への近道!
5月までは美鶴が務めることになる情報支援キャラ。これは一緒に行動する戦闘キャラとは別に存在するもので、タルタロスの状況を解説したり、敵の情報を解析したりするのが主な仕事となる。なかでも重要なのが敵の弱点などがわかる「アナライズ」。新しい敵に出会ったら、まずはアナライズを行おう。

弱点がわかっていても調べるであります
▲仲間は支援の情報をもとに行動している。
戦闘を重ねると、敵の種類や偶然で、アナライズする前に弱点がわかることもある。しかし、そこでアナライズをしないと、仲間には弱点が伝わらないままになってしまう。調べる前に弱点がわかったとしても、アナライズは必ず行おう。

その行動、目的などが謎に包まれた集団ストレガの紅一点。その能力とは一体⋯⋯!?
■タルタロス25階までの敵データ
タルタロス25Fまでに出現するボス以外の敵を、階層順、レベル順に羅列。ただし、赤いシンボルと金色のシンボルのレア敵は、各階層の最後に色分けして表示している。敵の名前が赤色のものは赤いシンボルの敵、オレンジのものは金色のシンボルの敵を表す。
カードはどれを狙うのがオススメ?
最後の敵を倒したときの攻撃に主人公がからんでいると発生する「シャッフルタイム」では、カードの中から1枚を引ける。このカードからは、お金や武器、ペルソナなど得られるものは多い。なかでも経験値がアップする「ワンド」は効率よく探索を進めるためにも、優先して狙いたいカードだ。また、武器よりもお金を選んだほうがお得。

合体の素材としてはもちろん、そのまま戦闘にも使える。主人公よりレベルが高いと入手不可。
カップ
HPが回復するカード。主人公のHPの減り具合によって、主人公のみか仲間全員かで対象が変化。

その戦闘で入手した経験値が割り増しされる力ード。数字しだいで倍以上になることもある。
ソード
武器の装備品を入手できる。数字が大きいほど効果の高い武器になるが、店売りと同じもののみ。

お金を入手できるカード。金額はランダムだが、 数字が大きいほど高額になっていく。
ブランク
ダブルアップ時に出現されるカード。このカードを選ぶと、すでに得たカードが失われてしまう。

本作では、主人公の戦闘における能力はペルソナのステータスに依存している。レベルアップで上昇するのはHP、SPのみなので覚えておいてほしい。また、特定の組み合わせのペルソナを持ち合わせることで「ミックスレイド」という特殊スキルを覚える。序盤で覚えることができる組み合わせを掲載するので、有効活用してほしい。

インセンスカードでさらにパワーアップです
キングやクイーンの名前がついたアイテム「インセンスカード」を使えば、ぺルソナのステータスを増強させることができる。お気に入りや有効なスキルを覚えたぺルソナができれば、レベルにかかわらずこれで一線級に強化することも可能だ。また、この強化した能力は合体しても引き継がれる。

仲間の特徴も覚えるべし
前ページでも述べたように、本作では仲間が自律して行動する。それだけに、仲間の持つスキル、弱点、行動のクセを把握することは重要といえるだろう。そこで、ここでは序盤で一緒に行動する3人の仲間の特徴を掲載。これを参考に、仲間が持つ戦闘のパターンをつかんでおこう。

あなたが弱点を補うであります
連れ歩ける仲間は主人公を除いて3人。次のスキルページでも説明しているように、基本的な属性攻撃だけでも4種類あり、仲間だけでは補完できない。そこで、ぺルソナを自由に付け替えられる主人公に、仲間が持っていないスキルを埋める役割をさせる。属性を幅広くカバーし、どんな弱点も突けるようにしよう。

みなさん、タルタロス探索のほうは順調でございましょうか?今回は、私が特別に探索には欠かせないスキルをご教授させていただこうと思います。
1時限目攻撃方法の活用を覚えましょう
まずみなさんに覚えていただきたいのは攻撃魔法の属性。敵の多くは、この6属性のうちどれかを弱点として持っていますので、名前と属性の関係をしっかり頭にたたき込んでもらえると助かります。また、魔法は強化→最強と進化するにつれ、その攻撃力も上がっていきます。ただ、弱点を突くことが重要ですので、威力の高さよりも複数の属性を所持することを優先させたほうがよろしいでしょう。

個人と他者との距離感、つながりをぺルソナのシステムに反映
今回主人公以外のペルソナが固定なのは?
橋野 : 今回は主人公の力が世界を変えるという話で、タロットが象徴する愚者、つまりゼロの状態から出発して主人公が成長していくという軸を最初に引いたんですね。そこで、主人公は特別扱いしたかったのが理由の1つです。あとは、夜一緒に仲間と戦うなら、昼間はそれぞれがバラバラに行動するという仕組みを作りたかったんですね。バーティのありかた、仲間の自律をゲームシステムで表現したかったわけです。そうしたとき、装備からぺルソナからすべて主人公が面倒を見るのは違うんじゃないかなって思ったんですね。もちろん、仲間のペルソナを付け替えたいって人もいるとは思いますけど、思い切って主人公だけにしました。
今回『女神転生』でも初となる4~6身合体を入れようと思った理由は?
橋野 : 今までと違うようで、じつは組み合わせの決められた合体という仕組みで、複雑なものにはしたくなかったんですよ。それと、『ぺルソナ』もそうですけど、『DDS』など合体から離れている部分があって、自分のなかでフラストレーションがたまっていたんですね。そういうこともあって、今回は合体もちゃんとやってますってことをユーザーさんに伝えたいと思い、4~6体の合体を入れたんです。ただ合体を増やすだけでなく、そこにコミュによるボーナス経験値が加算されることで、いわゆる経験値稼ぎが不必要になって、テンポもよくなるかなという狙いもありましたね。といっても、スキルの継承などを深くやり込んでいこうって考え出す人には、いくらでもやり込める要素は用意されていると思います。『Ⅲ』で好評だった、「悪魔 (ペルソナ) 全書」もきちんと用意してありますからね。
今回ぺルソナは何体くらいいるのですか?
橋野 : 『真・女神転生Ⅲ』のときより多くしたかったのですが、3Dのモデルで悪魔を作ると、じつは1体あたりにかかる時間も費用も相当なものに⋯⋯。今回はシャドウとペルソナも別個に作っているので、さらに大変で。そこは今までの財産を生かしながら、今回150体近いペルソナを用意できましたね。逆にそれくらいの数を用意しなければ、今作の合体システムが充分楽しめないだろうなと思いました。

ペルソナの主人公は学生、しかも今回は学校生活を体験できる!ということで友人たちとよい関係を築きつつ、ステータスをALL MAXにすることを目標にゲームを進めてみたいと思います。ということで、前情報ナシに4月を進めてみました。
ボーっと進めるとあっという間に日は過ぎますが、行けるところ、やれることは意外に多い。そこで効率よく1日を過ごすため、1週間のスケジュールを決めることに。これで5月末までにはステータスもランクアップしつつ、コミュの2つくらい最大ランクにできそうという手ごたえを受けました。いや余裕かな?時間余るかもしれない。
よし、もう1回最初からやりなおそう!⋯⋯その前にこのデータを使って5月末までのカレンダーを確認しながら具体的な1週間のローテーションを解説していきましょう。
1.【コミュは平日に集中する】
神社でさい銭を入れると学力が上がるのなら毎日通うほうがいいと予想し「神社~コミュ~カラオケ (金土は喫茶店)」という平日休日共通の基本行動を立てる (しかし直後にやってきたのはGW⋯⋯4連休)。
2.【上げるコミュは固定する】
一点集中したほうがコミュの上がりがいいんじゃないかと予想し散々悩んだ結果、4月末までに手に入るコミュから「クラスメイト」と「古本屋」を選び出し固定することにしました。
そして日は流れて試験前週間。いつものように友近と帰ろうと思ったら⋯⋯あれ、席にいない。校内をうろうろしていたら玄関で立ちつくしている友近を見つけ声をかけると⋯⋯。
「試験前だから帰って勉強する」とのこと。⋯⋯え?友近寄り道なし?へぇ~スケジュールによって行動が変わるんだ~。それじゃ古本屋行こうっと。 それによって集中的にランクが上がる老夫婦のコミュ。2つを同時進行してると、こういうときに便利です。同じ学校の生徒じゃこうはいかなかったですね。
そして中間試験開始⋯⋯って試験中は何も行動できないの!?
ちょっと待って、このままだとコミュの2つくらい最大ランクどころか1つもムリだよ!
ビックリよりガッカリが先にきた試験期間が終わると、さっそく成績発表が⋯⋯掲示板に貼り出されましたので見に行くと、「わりと上位だった」。
⋯⋯わりと上位。うーん、もう少し学力上げてたら1位とれたのかな。気になるなぁ⋯⋯。
思った以上に散々な結果だったので、こうなったらローテーションの変更はせずに、狙うコミュも変えないで作戦の練り直しだけしてリトライ決行!その作戦がどういう結果をもたらすのか、次回をお楽しみに!

キャラクターの性格はそれぞれ題名がつけられるくらいプロファイリングしました
各キャラクターの性格などは、どのようにして決められたのでしょうか?
橋野 : 最初、スタッフにいろいろ設定を出してもらったんですけど、どうにも型にハマったものばかりで⋯⋯。パターンみたいなものも必要な部分はあると思いますが、それだと中身が薄くなってしまう気がしたんです。それで、設定の担当者と心理学の本を見たりしながら性格づ けをしたのですが、決まってみたら結構型にハマったキャラクターで、世の中のキャラクターものはよくできてるなぁと思いました (笑)。
副島 : プロファイリングはしましたね。最終的には、社員だったり知り合いだったりがイメージモデルになったりしているんですけど。それだけに、いろいろ設定もありましたが、カットされました。最初は順平がビッグスクーターに乗っているって設定もあったんですよ (笑)。
女性のメインキャラ4人中3人がショートカットなのにはなにか理由が?
副島 : とくに意識はしてないのですが、昔からショートカット好きと言われていたので (笑)。女性キャラといえば、ゆかりは最初すごく嫌味な性格だったんですよ。
橋野 : 順平とゆかりは、今でこそ主人公の代弁者という役づけがされていますけど、初期のころは暗いわねたむわで、今の素直な感じ��見当たりませんでした。美鶴に通信で敵を倒してこいって言われたあと「なんなのよ⋯」とか (笑)。あと、美鶴はベタベタの生徒会長ですけど、真田も最初は情けない男だったんですよ。ただ、初期のゆかりと真田は当初の設定がスタッフに大不評で⋯⋯。やっぱり女性のファンの方にも楽しんでほしいので、真田には真田なりの戦う理由をつけて、修正していきましたね。
副島 : 逆に風花は最初からもめることなく、静かなキャラとして作られていきましたね。RPGだと、みんな戦えてソロになっても全然戦える人ばかりじゃないですか。だけど、直接戦えないけど情報解析で助けてくれるというキャラがいることで、仲間としての連帯感が生まれるかなって ことで風花が作られたんです。
橋野 : 最初は、風花だけ危険がないよねってことで、風花が殺されかけるみたいなイベントもあったんです。ただ、時間やボリュームの問題で泣く泣くカットしました。その名残といえるイベントがあるので、プレイしていてそういうシーンがあったら、ニヤリとできると思いますよ。そのぶんというわけではありませんが、風花のセリフ(※7)は全キャラ中で一番多くなりました。セリフのパターンもかなりあるので、あたりも楽しんでもらえればと思います。

for some reason every youtube reactor who hasn't read the book and watches iwtv s2 just immediately says they don't like armand but they love love love lestat which is like. to each their own but they don't even know armand at that point and lestat was awful and abusive to louis and claudia during almost all of s1 like.... what is this thing that makes them all weak for the white villain but instantly dislike the brown villain when it's not even clear yet what he's done??? i don't understand oh wait

eiffel's problem is that he sees every injustice as an interpersonal issue. he doesn't understand how his flippancy or apparent leniency towards hilbert might look to hera; in his mind, it doesn't contradict his support for her. to eiffel, it seems obvious - he is also one of hilbert's victims, hera is his friend, of course he's completely on her side - but he fails to fully grasp how the stakes are different for her.
ep 19: "you need to stop treating this like a joke, officer eiffel." / "hey, i'm the person for whom the joke tolls." / "i get you're scared he put something inside you. but i hope you haven't forgotten emergency code alpha victor. he put that in me." and ep 51: "they're just jokes! they don't really mean anything." / "see, eiffel, you get to have that. they can be 'just jokes' for you because you're... well, you. but we don't get that."
the issue in shut up and listen is eiffel's repeated, if unintentional, microaggressions, but it's also his general use of dark humor as a coping mechanism - jokes he feels justified in making because of how the subjects of those jokes have impacted him. eiffel sincerely believes in treating people equally, but his idea of 'equal treatment' can be idealistic and naive. he has an awareness of interpersonal harm, but he's lived most of his life without ever being confronted with the reality of structural harm - being pre-judged and othered and having his life devalued on the basis of outside categorization.
but the thing about that is that it has happened to him, too. eiffel is an addict, and a convict, and marked as from a lower socioeconomic class than minkowski or lovelace, and those things are the reasons goddard futuristics was able to buy him as prison labor and - without his consent - consider him expendable for medical experimentation. none of that is a coincidence, but he doesn't see the systems at work, only his own actions and regrets. which he then equivocates to the worst actions of people who don't share his sense of morality or guilt.
eiffel's ability to recognize and bring out the humanity in the people around him is one of his best qualities, but... on the basis of his identity, he's been able to live a life where he conceptualizes himself as the default person, and that's been reinforced by the pop culture he loves so much. that's a massive blind spot. he assumes everyone navigates the world in a similar way, and so, on some level, he sees everyone around him as an extension of or a reflection of himself. if evil is always personal, then it can always be reasoned with.

I gotta speak my truth: Lou is an IDIOT. He could've left a beloved side character who helped major movements on a very anticipated storyline on the most popular scripted show on the us right now if he had just shut the fuck up. If he hadn't seen the way people were interacting with him on Twitter back in April as a way to get money and some instant gratification recognition and jumped on cameo to hijack the story and pretend he had creative power and was anything other than another one of Buck's love interest who happened to be a guy, Tommy might've ended up showing up after the breakup. He's a first responder, it would be so easy to make them cross paths. Instead the guy decided to act as if he is more important than he is, milk his fans for all they are worth, and spit on the show's face on the way out as if playing the victim is going to get him a new contract. He could've used this to boost his career and instead he keeps shooting it on the foot because his ego is more important. He's a pr nightmare and he's been a pr nightmare from the get go and now we're somehow in overtime because he just can't stop. This is insane behavior. You think Tim Minear, Ryan Murphy, abc as whole, every Disney company, will want to work with a guy who only has his father's name to fall back on, is a perpetual guest star, doesn't have the talent to back up his ego and somehow can't stop talking shit about the plotline he knew he was brought in to play? His 704 interviews talk about being an entry level relationship, talk about Tommy being a stepping stone for Buck to "work out the kinks before Eddie", talk about how it was supposed to be Eddie so clearly the relationship hadn't been planned, and now he wants to talk about how he didn't see this coming? My man you filmed the breakup before filming the happy scenes from 805. There's no way in fucking hell you didn't know. There are contracts involved, he had to have known how many episodes he was supposed to be in. And playing the victim and saying Tim didn't consult with him and he didn't want this to happen is not gonna make anyone on the show be like "okay we need to bring this man back". Tim once named a villain over a fan who annoyed him. What the fuck do you think he's gonna do about a guest star on a power trip because he got 10 people paying him 5 dollars over and over for him to say what the want to hear and decided he's somehow now indispensable for the plot? It sure as fuck won't be bringing them back.

Cirrina: uhhhh .... When did you move here
Nana: oh I have no idea sweetie It's been years...... The war started when I was around......10 of 11 years old. I lived with my two sisters in a small village My mother was a School teacher and my father passed away years ago.
Cirrina: *writing*
Nana at the time my village was not affected by the high tides but it was targeted with conflict over land and resources. Next thing you know, I was being drafted for the war along with my two sisters. They just turned 13. They never held a weapon before. My mother couldn't even imagine them going to war, it was only after the first bomb we decided to leave. We had to leave quickly so we weren't able to bring a lot. All we had to pack was whatever we could fit in our backpacks. I packed two dresses, pair of pants, three shirts and one skirt. I also packed my Adva doll she's the only toy I played with for years.

Nana: My mother was good friends with a man who moved to our village before the war happened. He was a nice inkling man Mr. Doal he offered to help us leave. His son got drafted and passed away early in the midst of combat. He told us about a developing sovereign country called krillarney that was currently taking in anyone and everyone across the world who wanted to get away from the war
Cirrina: *write*..... So how did you get to krillarney
Nana: we were informed that there were fairies and ships offering to help people leave. We set our trip in the middle of the night and met up with Mr. Dole and other people who wanted to leave as well. The walk was 3 hours straight. No brakes, no rest until we made it to the coast and we got onto a ship. It was a squid beak ship if I remember, The S. S. Escargot. We sailed for a week to krillarney making several stops picking others in similar situations.
Cirrina: was it just inkfish who were escaping?
Nana: oh no there were so many people from so many walks of life on the ship. Urchins, fish, cephalopods, Crustaceans. So many were affected by this war. I remember seeing some still wearing their military uniforms. It was their only chance to leave and they took it
Cirrina: when you got to krillarney what was it like? Was different from how it is today.
Nana: Well I can tell you one thing we didn't have these malls, outlets or a nice studio apartment like I have now hehehe. .... When I first got here My mother could only afford a nice small house with two bedrooms. Our neighbor was young octoling and his wife was a bass. They were enlisted in the military for years. When the war started they were completely against it. They were planning on having kids at the time they couldn't do that if they were at war. Unfortunately they weren't able to have kids but they watched me and my sister so many times that they kind of saw us as their kids hehehe
Cirrina: *writing*...... Do you ever think about your old village? What happened to it?
Nana:............. Well....um..... Like I said at the time the high tides didn't affect my home but.............. Soon enough it was............. Everything was wiped out and everyone......... From what I know now....... The water levels have subsided and it is inhabitable but............ I just never went back. Everything I know about that place is gone. My home my toys.....some of my old friends
Cirrina:.... I'm sorry.......

It was actually called 'no boys allowed' uhhehe.... We were in high school that was our original band.... We were in an all-girls school. We were just a couple of weird kids just screwing around... We were all in theater together and we used to hang out under the bleachers and I don't remember who mentioned it but one of us said "wouldn't be funny if we started a band and we had no idea how to play the instruments"....and heh That's how it really started

Kikura: Yeah it started out as a bit. We started to borrow instruments from The music room and we started to play, used to write music together like we had our own group chat and everything ... It started to get serious during second year of school. It started out as a joke and then just kind of started to really get into it and we really just stopped seeing it as a joke and started seeing it as more of a hobby and soon after we started to book gigs, shows and sets in people's basements. It just kind of took off after that.
Ramon: so what made you join C-side?
Kikura: so C-side started after I met Beika it was a small underground club. He recognized me from my band and he was really excited to see me! He told me that he was a bass player and his old roommate was a drummer and they needed a guitar player. He had a couple songs that he's written and he wanted my opinion on it. He wanted to see if I was able to do a demo track for him.
Baja: *nods*
Kikura: a couple weeks of talking I went to the studio and I met Uotora... He's such a sweetheart oh my cod.... We did rewrites and we wrote some more music. We did some test tracks and 5 hours later I was officially a part of the band...
Baja: what was your first concert like.... You played in sesame hall as the opener for wet floor
Kikura: I was surprisingly calm during the whole show. Really thought I was going to panic and freeze up because this is the first actual concert like a concert concert like it wasn't just a group of people hehehe in a backyard. I remember the crowd wasn't that enthusiastic when we came up but after playing 'click bate' people really just started to really get into it and we just formed a fan base after that.
Ramon: are you still a part of that band? After you released your new album with riot act
Kikura: oh yeah definitely. I'm still a part of the band I'm not going anywhere. This ain't that kind of band. Do we treat each other with respect...hehehe...hm... But no this is just a side project. We all just started talking again and it's just a passion project we're just doing really
Baja: and speaking of passion projects, let's get to the news....Nami one of the members of beloved yet controversial bands front roe has enough that branching off and starting a solo career. Today on Inkstagram she announced that she's working on a new album and writing her own songs she even took a selfie of herself in the studio showing in the recording booth.
Ramon: I think nami's very underrated in the band. It's good to see she's getting out there
Kikura: I'm so happy that she is. I only met her two times. It was during the black square music festival and the seashore awards she is so nice, she's so kind and so pretty. We were talking and I brought up keeping my music in a notebook and she did the same thing too. She has several notebooks of music that she really wants to make but it doesn't really fit the sound of 'squid squad'..... Well I guess it's front roe now but she's kept those book for years... I truly hope she's putting those to good use
Baja: You know this actually isn't her first solo work. She worked on a soundtrack for 'high-rise falling 4'. It was a video game for the gamer boy x system.
Kikura: really?
Raman: Yeah I know that she composed background music for the menu and she also made The third boss Battle song. Man If they ever make the movie of high-rise falling
Baja: they are never going to make that movie.... It's always in production hell for years now
Kikura: I've only played the second and third game in that series, but I heard the movie is going to be starting off with The fifth installment and going backwards which doesn't make any sense
Hitch: what is high-rise falling? I don't know what that is. What are they talking about?
Oshi: It's just a game that these kids play. The audience will know what they're talking about
Ramon: they should bring her back for the movie. It would be really cool if she remixed her original tracks. I love that for him. I'm happy that she's making music. I'm really excited..... What else we have for the news
Baja: SashiMori are no longer doing fall tours or winter tours like they used to
Raman: oh?
Baja: So one of the members, Paul. He's no longer able to travel because he has school so they're going to have to do summer tours
Ramon: that makes sense.... I remember their last tour was during fall during spook fest. Everyone dressed up in costumes and during their last set, people were giving out candy.... Folks was handed a bucket before they got into the arena. it was good candy too like people were getting full size candy bars..... What type of candy do you like? I like gum.... You could never go wrong with gum..... Good flavor, good texture... And you can blow bubbles with it. What about you?
Baja: I enjoy chocolate... I love a good piece of chocolate..... Especially if it has a filling in it like marshmallow or something.....Kikura?
Kikura: I would say I'm a hard candy type of person.... I enjoy jawbreakers
Baja: really
Kikura: Yes, it lasts longer than most candies and..... Besides lollipops It is the only candy that is socially acceptable to take out of your mouth
Hitch: do we have any chocolate sponsors?
Oshi: no but I can get with the marketing team and see what we can do

Assistant: Well..... Judging from the viewership on TV and the viewership on the app we might be able to gain..................... 100 million first episode maybe even more...
Executive: I don't understand it! they talked about video games and then candy, went on a tangent about handbags and backpacks. How is this popular?! This is supposed to be about music and celebrities.
Oshi: Kids today aren't really all that interested in celebrities showing off their fancy cars, expensive clothes and lifestyle. They're bored at that and so are the newer artists. They just want to know who they are as a person....if knowing about their favorite candy and opinions on games keeps them engaged and interested in their music and our show I see no problem with it
Mickey: hmmmm.....
Hitch: I think we might need a meeting for this. I have an idea
Oshi: what's the idea
Hitch: we haven't had that much traction on the app for a while. instead of making a recorded video the next time we film we do a live stream and have the audience involved with the conversation
Mickey: I like that. Keeps the audience engaged and keeps the viewerships high. it saves money on editing
Hitch:......... These kids are going to make us a lot of money

#personal#every single new coworker ive met lately has the same opinion of her that my usual coworkers do:#she should absolutely NOT be in this position. she is bad at it and doesnt listen to any of us#also. i think her hiring was maybe... racist. like shes a white woman. fine whatever#but i was speaking to one of my coworkers whos an older Black woman (one of my new fav coworkers too shes a hoot)#and she said that she and about r or 5 others were on a panel to sit in for the interview process that hired current manager#and she started listing everyone else who was there and i was like huh. every she mentioned is also Black. interesting#and she said not a single one of them picked current manager and gave their reasons why#and it seems to me that all of their opinions were so neatly ignored. so like why invite them? for diversity points? to look inclusive?#to make it seem like we even had a choice?#bc that is not a good look!!!#id say a third to half of my entire coworker group is Black and to find out that a small group of them were ignored when actively asked for#their opinion on a very important decision? yea no that doesnt seem right#and i think when my coworker told me she knew. and im like hmm. makes me wonder what to do#i mean i will be emailing hr soon enough bc current manager is not just annoying and incompetent but also ableist lol#i just need to get together with some coworkers so we can draft one large complaint bc umm. yea fuck this stupid bitch oh my god. ive had it#with her and her antics and the librarys too since they wanna ignore my coworkers apparently!#most of whom are older and retired teachers and actively and always know what the fuck theyre doing#id trust literally any of my coworkers to do managers job before manager. bc i know literally any of them could do it

tonight is a "getting emotional over paul bellini" kind of night <3
#just thinking about how lucky i am that not only did he see me being a nerd over mouth congress almost two years ago and reach out to say hi#but also that in our first conversation he asked about my comedy and immediately was interested in seeing where it could go#like i have a distinct type of dynamic with each of the kith people i know of course#but bellini's always going to be special to me bc he's the first one i met. he's the one who met me before i knew anyone related to kith#both scott and bruce met me as someone who already knew someone from the show. but bellini met me as just a random fan#like he didn't have to bring me into the world of kith as much as he did but he wanted to!#and idk i'm just thinking about it bc in my little interview i did with him for my final in a comedy class#i did ask him what it was about my comedy that made him think it had potential#and he gave such a thoughtful answer that really showed he thinks i'm funny and that i could be a great comedian#and he referenced past work i've shown him etc. and it was all in that great bellini tone where he's very complimentary#but it never feels disingenuous or like he's just being nice bc he respects you enough to tell you his honest opinions#i value a compliment from scott or bruce or paul very much bc they're all some of my favorite comedians and my mentors#and of course having a different dynamic with each of them means i will value their comments in different ways#and i wouldn't say i value one person's feedback more than another's#but there's always something special about bellini bc he's the one who has known me the longest and knew me before all of this#(technically he's the only one who got to know me as a teenager bc i was 19 when we met even tho my 20th birthday was a few weeks later)#and yeah i really hope he's having a good night tonight bc he deserves it
