A/N: Hey! Glad to have you back in my ask box anon! That means a lot haha. Sorry that I have been slacking' on the slasher's asks. I fell into a rabbit hole of other fandoms and the brain rot is real 😩 I will try and write something for the big bloody blorbos here or there for you guys though 🫶

Characters Included: Thomas Hewitt, Billy Loomis, Stu Macher, Charles Lee Ray, Vincent Sinclair, Bo Sinclair, and Lester Sinclair

Thomas Hewitt:

He likes that you can fight, but he would prefer that you stay out of trouble. Thomas wants nothing more than for you to stay safe. Even if you get the smallest of bruise or scratch from someone he's worrying over you - after taking care of whoever hurt you. They aren't getting away with that.

He does like that you can fight and handle yourself, though. It reassures him that if something does happen then you can handle yourself. That you'll be safe and he won't lose you.

He might even let you help him with some of the victims - maybe.

Billy Loomis:

He loves that you can fight and handle yourself. He thinks it's super attractive and likes putting you in situations where you have to fight against someone. He's always standing close to take care of the situation f you get knocked down, though.

He's worrying over you if you get hurt, but he doesn't show it as much as someone like Stu or Thomas might. He's more quiet about it and just checks over if you got hurt during a fight.

Stu Macher:

He's a mix of Billy and Thomas. He finds it INSANELY hot that you can fight. He's telling you that any chance he can too. He loves that you can protect yourself, but he would prefer it if you didn't fight. He likes knowing that you are safe and not put in predicaments where you could get hurt.

He's super protective over you if you do happen to fight and get hurt. He's making said person wish they never interacted with you. He's taking care of you first. Muttering soft nothings while patching you up. Telling you how much he cares about you and how he hopes you won't do something like that again. He winds up smiling and cracking a joke, though. "Next time at least invite me. I just know the other guy looked way worse."

Charles Lee Ray:

He's horny lmao

He finds it super hot that you can fight for yourself. Don't get him wrong, he loves himself a damsel in distress, but someone who can hold their ground? God, he thinks that's the hottest thing ever. He loves that you can fight, he loves watching you fight, too.

He's protecting you the moment you get hurt, though. All he sees is red when he hears you scream out in pain. No one's allowed to hurt his doll.

Vincent Sinclair:

He likes that you can fight, but he's indifferent about it. He thinks it's a good thing, and it reassures him that you can protect yourself, but he would rather you be in a safe space rather than fighting the visitors with him and Bo.

If you do end up fighting with them he's worrying over you the whole time. You're a distraction for him. It's not that he's interested in you fighting, he's interested in making sure that you're okay. If he even thinks that you're losing to your opponent he's stepping in to save the day.

Bo Sinclair:

He thinks it's super hot. He likes a partner that can fight and hold their ground. It makes him feel better about using you in town to make the tourists think the town is normal. He feels safer knowing that you can fight when you wander the streets or help him in the shop and pose as his lovely spouse - even if you both are just dating.

He is like his brothers, though. He would rather that you didn't have to fight. If you are both fighting with people then he's side eyeing you the whole time. It's a distraction since he's making sure you're okay constantly. He's quick to help you and get you out of dangers way. Even if you claim you had the situation handled. He couldn't bare to lose you.

Lester Sinclair:

He thinks it's super cool! He's not like his brothers with the situation, he has his own opinions. In fact, he's asking you to teach him how to fight.

He knows how to use a knife and a gun, but not to properly fight with his fists. So he would love if you could teach him some techniques and give him some tips! He'd teach you how to throw knives and fight with a knife as well :) Or shoot a gun if you don't know how and want to learn.

He does relate to them in the fact that he wants nothing more than for you to be safe. If anything happened to you he would never forgive himself. He is glancing over and making sure that you are okay any chance that he has while you are both stuck in a fighting situation. He's helping you the moment he can, too.

How do they feel about people shorter/taller than them? He is like, annoyingly, tall and he loves to playfully tease his friends and s/o about this fact relentlessly. Like, if he has something they want he’ll dangle it above their head knowing they can’t reach it. 

What are they like on social media? (What’s their username, profile pic, etc.) He’s boring, his handle would truly just be leanderprewett. Profile picture would either be a candid photo his friend or s/o took of him.

Their sexuality? Everyone in the wizarding world is bi, sorry I don’t make the rules ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ However, if that wasn’t the case he would tragically be very straight.

Preferred weather? Blue skies & sunshine. He gets cabin fever very easily and hates being cooped up inside for too long.

What’s their sleeping schedule? He stays up way too late and loves to sleep in when he can. Lazy mornings are his favorite.

Favorite music? Rock, Pop Rock, Indie. He also has a soft spot for classical music and Jazz with his upbringing and family life. Oh, this song reminds me of him very very much.

How’s their cooking? I answered this a bit in my sfw alphabet, but he enjoys cooking. Specifically recipes he grew up with, made by his Mom.

It’s movie night, what movie do they pick? He’s a sucker for romcoms. and if his s/o wants to have a full self care face mask junk food movie night he’s all in. However, he’s also the guy who doesn’t shut up when watching a movie, full of commentary. “Did you know that actor didn’t even want to play this part?” “Gods that CGI is terrible”  “That coffee cup is clearly empty”

How would they hold up in a pillow war? He wouldn’t hold back, and there’s been legendary pillow wars in the Gryffindor dorms. Garreth has been the victim of more than a few smacks across his head from Leanders pillow.

What’s their sleeping position? CONTORTIONIST. LONG GANGLY LIMBS EVERYWHERE.

Who do they go to for comfort? When he was a kid, his grandpa. Then as he grows up, Garreth (they’re besties) and his s/o. It takes him a while to feel comfortable doing so, though and usually the other person notices something is bothering him before he speaks up. They usually have to be the ones to coax him into talking.

Something small that they enjoy?His moms home cooked meals, long walks by the black lake. Riding his broom. A good book.

How do they feel about physical contact by others? Eh. He’s alright with a hug now and again. When it comes to his s/o he’s anti PDA. He does love when his Mom gives him a cheek or forehead smooch.  What is enough to bring them to tears? Failure. In any form. He’s hypersensitive to it as his greatest fear in life is being perceived as a disappointment to his family. (See also: His boggart would be his father).

Biggest pet peeve?Serious pet peeve of his: people who are just willfully ignorant and unwavering in their belief systems. Less serious pet peeve: just… impolite behaviors. Chewing with your mouth open, not saying please/thank you, etc etc etc.

How well do they take care of themselves? Very very well and he prides himself on it. He’s a very clean, well put together person and he always smells good. (@imagrindylow and I even picked out a cologne we think he’d smell like - BOSS Infinite) 

What’s something they like that may be surprising to others?He enjoys the mundane. He finds joy and peace in a very calm, domestic life. He wants the 9-5 office job. He wants to be successful if only to appease his parents and provide for his family. But he wants an easy going, office job that keeps him safe and brings him home to his family every single night.

Do they consider others family? Oh yes. When he has children, all of his close friends will absolutely be considered Aunts and Uncles to them. He absolutely believes family goes beyond blood. Though, those titles and feelings don’t come easily for him and those select few would have to be tried and true friends to him, and the people he cares about. 

Any bad habits that they have? I answered this one a bit, in this post but really just crippling insecurity, overworking himself and jealousy. What’s their idea of a perfect vacation? Anywhere that would give him ample time to spend with and bond with those close to him. Quidditch World Cup with his brothers. Weekend at the lake with his partner and children. In the modern world he’d absolutely be an Amusement Park Dad or think a cross country road trip would be a great bonding experience. (He’s wrong. Everyone cries at least once.) 

Do they get lost easily? Will they ask for directions if they are? He would not get lost easily, the man is over prepared for everything. If he did find himself lost, he would not hesitate to find a local and ask for help. Especially if he had his s/o or children along. (CAN YOU TELL HE’S A FAMILY MAN?)

How well do they accept advice?It depends not only on how close he is with the person giving him advice but also the level of respect he has for them. If he respects the person immensely, he will absolutely accept their advice with gratitude.

How much do they swear?Often, just not loudly. He’ll curse under his breath during an exam or while he’s playing quidditch or summoners court but he’s not one to be dropping f bombs in casual conversation. He’s polite.

How do they take advice given to them?Feeding off of how well they take advice, he would absolutely act on it if he accepted it. Putting his trust in their guidance.

Do they like being in pictures?He doesn’t love having his picture taken alone, but he’ll never say no to capturing memories with people he loves. His desk at work would be absolutely littered in photos of his s/o and children and family.

Is there anything they’re bad at?Emotional regulation lmao boys got a temper.

What’s their morning schedule?As much as he loves to sleep in, he does have a morning routine that if he doesn’t get to complete it’ll put him in a funk for the rest of the day. So he does make sure he gets up with enough time to get it done. He makes his bed (literally every single day), showers, grooms himself (shaving, cologne, etc), he takes his time in getting ready for the day. Not to look good, but to feel good.

Any past injuries? He broke his leg after falling off his broom when he and his brothers were goofing off, when he was a kid. 

Something that disgusts them Runny eggs and the smell of incense (it gives him a headache, which is why he drops divination the second he’s able).

BUT BUT before we get to HoH-ified aventurine – lemme chip in my thoughts abt aventurine & paternity. bcs !!! i hc him to be a gentle father—softer tone when talking to children, petting their heads, willing to indulge their whims (like games which he is also fond of, etc.)—but aventurine might not allow himself the privilege of being a father due to his current life. i don't think he even dares to give himself the belief that he would be a good one either (he would). still, it's obvious that there is a special place in his heart for kids. they're young, innocent, yet to be tainted by the filthy ink of this world's tribulations – it's something to be protected while it lasts, he thinks.

anywho back to our what if aventurine is in the house of hearth !!! my guy has the persuasion skills like a true diplomat! he has the schemes & charisma! he has unassailable (smug) composure that took away his ability to be emotionally vulnerable! what a recipe for trouble that brims with potential all the same. i still haven't gotten a good grip on arlecchino's character, so i can't say for sure whether she'd choose lyney or aventurine.

abt the differences between the two tho: the only thing i'm certain of is that lyney would be “father” because of how his desire to protect his family has gone beyond mere 'desire' and transformed into a firm, fully-fledged conviction. as for aventurine? my brain can't rlly think of anything elaborate except for a few words: “survival”, “detached”, and “knows what [he] wants and takes it”.

maybe it's also the charisma? from a glance, aventurine looks like he has a more 'solid' sense of it compared to lyney (although both of them are canonically charismatic iirc!). this could be bcs we've witnessed lyney's vulnerable side before (re: archon quest where he tried to save his siblings) – so that lessens his elusive charisma but makes him more “human” in our eyes. aventurine also went thru the same thing in penacony but admittedly, his reveal has more to do with bitter nostalgia than the desperation that was present in lyney's. so tldr: desperation = less rizz? /lh. i genuinely can't provide anything concrete atp sorry 😵‍💫

ok. a genuine question. how do u guys write 20-30k *chapters* bc i will outline fics minutely or i will just let myself start writing based off a vibe & either way i will get 600 words out of maybe. two hours of work. on a good day with no distractions/interruptions, & i very much do not have an uninterrupted two hours to write very often, so you can imagine how slowly things get written T_T so i’m interested if there’s any aspect of any of your writing processes that really enables u guys to write so much or if it’s not really something you think about? anyways i really like ur guys’s work, & thank you for deciding to write for byler bc i know me and a lot of people enjoy it a lot. thanks!!

hello !! this is a super valid question and i’ll try my best to answer it for you 😗✌️

andi infamously writes a lot faster than thea and i do (she finished draft 1 of chapter 3 in like. two days. which was so scary. i’m in awe of her fr) but she has also spent a lot of time editing ch3 so it’s definitely not like these chapters are publish-ready in a short amount of time by any means! it took thea a couple of months total to fully write + edit ch1 and it took me about 3.5 weeks to write ch2 and another two weeks to edit it which is part of the reason we’ve spaced out our posting schedule like we have — we put a lot of effort and care into these updates and we want to give ourselves as much time as possible to get ahead before all 3 of us inevitably get so super busy with work and/or school in the fall!! so while we do write a lot, please don’t think we are so insanely speedy about it because unless we are having Really Good Writing Days, that’s definitely not the case. sometimes we do have days where we are really in the zone and write more than usual, but at least for me, this is so so so rare. whatever i write in this time gets heavily edited because so much of it was nonsensical brain vomit LOL

as far as writing process goes, i think one of the things that motivates us a lot is that we genuinely do just talk about this au constantlyyyyy like we’re always coming up with silly little hcs or drawing for it or adding to the Lore ™️so we’re always getting inspired to write! all three of us are definitely people who use writing as a way to relax or even reward ourselves after a long day; we would probably die if we had to go too long unable to :/ messages like “i can’t wait to get home and write after work today” or “i’m going to write a little bit of ___ before bed because i deserve it” are very commonly found in our gc because we really just look forward to it so much! as for our scary word counts, i feel like there is a lot of worldbuilding in this universe specifically, and pacing is really important to us — we want to make sure introductions and set-up to a scene and character interactions are meaningful and flow naturally, and building tension (which is a hallmark of this fic hehe) does take some time, which can definitely add up word count-wise.

for the most part, none of us usually have a solid few hours to sit and write either (unless it’s on our days off or after work if we’re not too tired) and we get a lot of writing done in chunks! we hold each other accountable for short check-ins (“ask me for a snip in 30 minutes”) which is super helpful when you’re stuck, because it kind of forces you to get Something down without worrying if it’s super polished and edited and perfect. if you’re writing on your own, something i’ve started doing lately is setting a 15 minute timer and just seeing how much i can get done in that time, and then setting another and doing it again (up until however much time you have to write that day). i’ve found that the artificial deadline helps break the monotony of sitting in front of your computer for Hours on end with nothing to show for it bc TRUST we’ve all been there and it sucks so bad 😔✊

this got super long so i apologize but i hope at least a little bit of it was helpful! it definitely helps that we are constantly feeding into each other (i.e: having brainrot) and offering inspiration and advice, which does wonders for creative flow tbh. we’re definitely not cranking these chapters out as quickly as people might seem to think — thea started chapter four, which won’t be posted for about a month, maybe a week or two ago. i just started chapter 5 — about 6 weeks away — yesterday lol so we do take our time! don’t be scared by the giant chapters, we just had a lot of content we wanted to include in each one and are in too deep to take anything out 🥳🥳 thank you for the question! good luck with your writing we believe in you 🫡

Random hcs I have because I may be cringe but I'm free part 26 (Ninjago, again)

My Ninja singing hcs cuz I love music and singing and I think the sillies would too.

When it comes to Cole, there are only two ways the hc can go, either you think he's terrible, like in the oni trilogy, or he's a wonderful singer with a beautiful natural voice and the technique to match, who just doesn't know what to do with that stupid Gloworm song (I mean COME ON, he went to the Marty Oppenheimer School of Performing Arts ffs). I choose to believe in the latter. Whatever you choose he is still vastly better at dancing than singing.

Kai actually has a pretty great (and fittingly, very powerful) voice and he could be amazing if he ever decided to take actual lessons, but he couldn't care less. What he's interested in, and therefore weirdly good at, is distortion. Growls, vocal fry, screams, even just regular old belting, anything that would push anybody else's voice to its limits, he can do it all and does so willingly and extremely well. (Cole is lowkey jealous)

Jay can SING omg (when he's actually trying anyway). Jay's the kind of guy who has a wonderful (and surprisingly powerful) natural voice without any kind of lessons or training but if he isn't focusing on/into the song or doesn't really care abt how he sounds then it just sounds like talking/shouting. But when he's alone, or listening to smth he really likes, or deliberately trying to impress, bro sounds ANGELIC (Cole and Kai are BOTH jealous of this one(and this one kinda feeds into my Japanese Jay hc but my brain decided that when he's doing more hardcore stuff, he sounds like mafumafu))

Once again, this one was hard because Zane only ever sings with the help of some kind of nindroid shenanigans, so I dont have a lot to go off of but I'm happy with what I came up with so 🤷‍♀️. Anyway, Zane's normal speaking voice is really clear and smooth and slightly accented and wonderful and he has perfect understanding of music theory and all the technical aspects of making a voice sound pleasant and musical, and he sounds really good when he hums, and he's got the technique DOWN, but his voice just always sounds weird somehow, so whenever he wants to sing along to smth and sound a certain way while doing it, he'll just replace his own voice with the original vocalists or another generated voice that he thinks sounds good. He still has an absolute blast though.

It is a rare and I mean RARE occurrence to hear Lloyd sing and 99% of the time someone does manage to pick up his voice, he sounds slightly below average, even if he's actually putting in some effort for once. But that ultra rare 1%, when someone manages to overhear him late at night, almost silently raiding the cupboards for candy as he quietly sings the softest, sweetest, and most comforting melodies to ever be given lyrics, then he sounds pretty wonderful. Don't let that fool you though, it's his comfort zone for a reason.

Like her brother, Nya has a pretty awesome natural voice, but, also like her brother, she doesn't really care for "normal" singing. She tends to lean more towards rapping, usually resulting in her unconsciously putting more energy into rap segments than the rest of the song, and the rest of the team. However, she absolutely ADORES hearing the others sing, especially Jay "What? He just has a nice voice. It has absolutely nothing to do with our relationship, no way". Its like she can sense whenever Cole and Jay are having another random duet and she always manages to "coincidentally" appear before the song ends.

Pixal was originally programmed by Cyrus Borg to have a lovely, gentle, mother-like singing voice, and she definitely appreciates it (its surprisingly come in handy on quite a few missions) but she finds it just a little too different from her normal speaking voice for her to get totally into it. She usually prefers to stay away from vocals anyway, finding that she has more fun tapping her fingers or toes or even just making percussive mouth sounds to the rhythm of whatever's playing (and these days, she's kinda hesitant to even do that, ever since Zane accidentally let it slip that he thinks its "positively adorable")

Just watched the new episode for jjk s2, is it just me or did Megumi looked a tad bit hopeful when he answered Toji's question? The way the va said 'Fushiguro', admittedly when I read that part of the manga I did not imagine that kind of delivery. And idk if its just my Fushiguro father and son brain rot playing tricks on me but I sensed a bit of longing, desperation and disappointment in the way they shot and animated that few bits of Megumi hurrying towards the body at the end of the fight. The pause, slight hesitation to then full on running towards the guy, who he thought looked quite familiar but change faces before he could get a good look. It somehow gave me the same feels as that brief flashback Toji had of kid Megumi looking sad or maybe worried (I always hc that scene as the day Toji left and how Megumi probably knew his father will not be coming back). Ahh idk.

Also Sukuna in all his glory and Mahoraga feet tease. Gosh I love JJK so much.

ok so idk if this is just me but I did get the same impression from the manga and the anime just made it more obvious laughs in jjk ships 🛳️.

With the anime, MAPPA said "let me show you why the animation quality you saw wasn't the top of our game a couple of chapters ago".

To go on a little MAPPA tangent... they're doing justice to jjk so good. Even in its imperfections due to scheduling constraints and having an overworked and underpaid staff, this anime elevates the manga.

So I was very happy to see how much they put into this episode, more specifically that moment and the lead up to it. I especially loved the look on Megumi's face in the precise moment you describe, but you've expressed yourself about it way better than I ever could.

It's like Megumi is doing the jjk math and realizing that the man looks awfully familiar for a reason. I've always thought it was so funny how Megumi might not recognize Toji given how much they look alike.

AND YES for bringing it back to the moment having the same sentiment as that one panel.

We're not necessarily privy to seeing into their dynamic, but I do love the idea that there was longing on both ends. I also got the sense that to Toji recognizing Megumi was also like he got a wish fulfilled in terms of him having thought "I wanted to see him again" right before he died.

On that, note, I get why people think Megumi doesn't care for Toji, but idk... I like the idea that he does better. Megumi strikes me as the type of person who loves very few people, but those that he loves, he loves them deeply.

The way you described the rest of the episode. Maho feet tease and how the tease flowed into the ending!

But yes I loved Megumi in this episode but Sukuna...

Here is an idea (inspired from the idea of someone else) you can do whatever you want to with: Jason for some reason decides to put a bounty (with favours and family dinners in exchange) on some rich guy and our lovely emotionally constipated rich guy, Bruce, takes the first row seat in listening the rules and pulls out a pen and paper from the ether and writes down everything and asks numerous questions. Bruce scores so many points that Jason sweats... And all he wants is a family dinner every other week. Absolutely nothing else, just come over, have dinner, chat with the sibs and Alfred (Jason is more than free to pretend that Bruce isn't there or so the older of the two says) and leave whenever. And after some mental calculations Jason knows that it will take at least 3 years to get through all of the pilled up family dinners and he has no idea what to even start thinking or feeling. Meanwhile every wonders if Bruce broke Jason with his own way of showing love and affection.

P.S. I HC that at least part of Bruce's love language is to spend time in the same space with his kids doing whatever... Even if it means doing paperwork in the middle of the room where Dick experiences an acrobat's wet dreams.

I'm not gonna lie to you, my brain literally went to 'paid mercenary' when I read 'bounty', but people put bounties on targets even without killing involved! So that's on me. lol But I definitely think that Bruce likes to spend lots of time with his children when he can, which could stem from lots of things, like how his parents died while they were on a night in the town together and even though he lost him he at least got to know how much they cared about him, and if he ever dies he wants his children to know that too, and that means showing an interest in their lives and being there. Or maybe it's because the last time he let a kid out of his sight for too long they went to a foreign country, got killed, and came back thinking they had died unloved and forgotten. 🙃

But seriously, Bruce wants to be there! Sometimes that means he can be overeager and always hovering over their shoulder, driving them up a wall. And sometimes that means he meddles and comes around even when they don't want them to.

Bruce spent such a long time alone in the Manor, with only Alfred to keep him company, and then went to travel and train largely alone, with only the occasional companion. And then he started his crusade expecting that to continue, only to soon gain a partner and son in Dick, and then slowly but steadily fill up the Manor with lively children.

Why would he ever want to go back to the way things used to be? And moreover, he chose to have these children in his life, why would he not want to spend time with them?

Jason would probably struggle to wrap his head around the concept the most. He went so long thinking only a certain way about Bruce, and then has to realize that he might have been wrong about Bruce from the start. He's got his own problems with parents who had loved or cared for him, but hadn't really been in the space or position to properly care about him. Look at Catherine, she loved and took care of Jason even when he wasn't her own son by blood! And yet having him in her life hadn't been enough to keep her off her drugs and addiction. That can really fuck a kid up. Bruce has plenty of other kids, lots of responsibility, and he can be a workaholic! But the fact that he wants and tries to make the time to spend time with his children, even if it just means being in the same room together so that he can hear them talk and laugh and rib each other says a lot about how important they are to him. And I'd like to think Jason would realize that too.

Bruce is, and more importantly can be, a good father! I will die on this hill, even if I have to get the dirt and make it myself.

lol, i'm never good at remembering my headcanons when i'm not actively throwing them into my fics. let's see.

I think the biggest one I have, or that sort of counts, is that I've spent a lot of time looking at Michael's behavior in s5 and trying to figure out just what's going on in his head. You know, there's that moment during the Dean & Michael confrontation where Michael says outright that he doesn't want to kill Lucifer, that he still loves him, and then follows it up with the fact that he's going to do it anyway. Actually, wait, let me grab the exact words transcript.

MICHAEL: You're wrong. Lucifer defied our father, and he betrayed me. But still, I don't want this any more than you would want to kill Sam. You know, my brother, I practically raised him. I took care of him in a way most people could never understand, and I still love him. But I am going to kill him because it is right and I have to.

And later of course, the infamous (to me, anyway): "Yes, because I am a good son."

And there's a lot to dig in there, but specifically to me what stands out is the bluntness of those last two statements. Because it is right and I have to. Because I am a good son. And to me, resident giver of problems to Michael, those come across not as explanations to Dean, but as justifications to himself. Or, well, that's kind of the same thing, if you take this conversation to be Michael talking at himself through his vessel, Dean's presence more incidental than anything, his eventual consent already a fact of the universe and so Michael doesn't actually need to dedicate any energy to convincing him. So, to me, he's not. He's trying to convince himself. And I think he's been trying to convince himself for a long time.

I think Michael is very good at holding two contradictory statements as equally true. God left but God loves him. Angels who consider disobedience must be punished or destroyed, but Raphael, who is outspoken in their belief that God is dead, is exempt from these rules. Lucifer is his little brother whom he loves and Lucifer is a monster who has to be put down for the good of the universe. No one in Heaven escapes being mindfucked, not even the guy nominally at the very top, because he's been rewiring his brain to be able to kill Lucifer without hesitation since the moment he had to throw him in the Cage (and he still failed to do it. Swan Song script my beloved, Michael hesitates because he wishes things could go back to how they were, because Lucifer is pleading with him as his little brother.)

And I think Michael has to be like this because he is so steadfast in his devotion. He loves Lucifer, and he loves God, and one day, he suddenly has to break himself in two trying to figure out why he can't simply make his feelings for Lucifer disappear because God orders it and wants Lucifer cast out. It's like. There's no healthy way for Michael to have a healthy relationship with his father, because the one mantra he's been repeating since his creation is God is Good and Right and everything he does has to be Good and Right, too. So if God kicks Lucifer out, that's Good and Right, and that makes Michael's emotions, his continuing attachment to Lucifer, Wrong and Bad. So, how to live with that, when he's just been given a clear example of what will happen if he is Wrong and Bad in God's eyes, when he's been the instrument who carried out that punishment? He can't love Lucifer, but he can't not love Lucifer.

So, that's how you end up with two equally true and contradictory statements. "I took care of him in a way most people could never understand, and I still love him." and "You're a monster, Lucifer. And I have to kill you."

Sorry for the rambling. I think in circles trying to figure out how Michael works out that what he's doing is the right thing. Doubtless, some of it is influenced by my own experience with religion and. well. being a queer little kid in church, knowing one thing to be true through experience and being told another thing is true and having to hold them both at the same time and it Fucking Hurting. And I kind of wish Michael got a chance to let go of the way his love is being restricted, turned into a fault that he has to suppress and eventually, literally kill.

And then once Gabriel & Raphael, and later even more angels, did exist, and these spaces were more formally cut off from each other (in the way that human Heavens would later be as well, the cracks of Heaven's design showing early, the image of harmony while the inhabitants are being isolated), Lucifer just ignored that and kept spending his time in what was now supposed to be Michael's space alone. Michael, of course, lets him because otherwise it'd feel too empty.

kazuha is very involved in the war against the shogun's forces

he's not the vengeful type, but his determination to end the vision hunt decree is evidently stronger than most

it makes sense why, but when kazuha gets passionate about something, he tends to develop a dangerous one-track-mind

he doesn't come to you whenever this happens -- it's usually up to you to seek him out and help him take a step back to clear his head

but what are you supposed to do when he goes to others instead?

it started a few weeks ago when kazuha asked to have a word alone with kokomi.

he'd been tense for the entire day for reasons beyond you, and whenever you tried to pick his brain about it, he would give you a forced smile and a light kiss to your forehead. after that, every time you approached him in hopes of easing his worries, he would cut conversations short and dodge your questions, his face becoming shadowed with something you couldn't place.

eventually, you saw kazuha making his way to kokomi's war room on your way back from gorou's office. you didn't think anything of it at first since there was really no reason to, but as you passed by on your way out of the building, you could hear a part of their conversation.

"and why didn't you tell your partner this, kazuha?" kokomi said, her voice softened with sympathy. "they would be able to help you far better than i can."

kazuha was silent for a few seconds. "there are some things i don't think they would understand if i told them."

you hated eavesdropping, so you didn't stick around to listen further. but his words have been on your mind ever since then.

in the weeks that followed, you had to convince yourself that kazuha wasn't acting strange. his smile stopped reaching his eyes fully, and he started to take more time to himself -- at least, it seemed that way. that kind of behavior isn't out of character for kazuha; he's a solitary man who values his well-being. he's far from selfish, but he's also far from sacrificial. you told yourself during those weeks that he was just being his usual self -- this is just kazuha being kazuha. maybe you're just on edge because of the passing conversation you'd heard.

then, he started avoiding you.

again, you tried to reassure yourself that he was just overwhelmed by the talks of war. no matter how formidable someone may be, they're not immune to the mental strain that war can put on them. kazuha is far more sensitive than he lets on; of course he'd be affected by this. you told yourself that it was perfectly normal for him to miss your calls of his name or look past you at times.

it comes to a head when aether approaches you.

your best friend scooches next to you as you go over some of the plans for the next excursion kokomi has planned and nudges your shoulder with his own. "how're you feeling?" he asks. you don't answer him right away, so he pushes his head between you and the papers, forcing his blonde hair in your face. "ooh, these look important."

"aether!" you splutter and laugh, pushing him away. he gives you a cheeky grin. "do you do this to everyone?"

"nope, just you." he answers, bumping shoulders with you again.

you consider yourself to be one of the luckiest people on teyvat to have formed a such a tight bond with the famed traveler. you two are thick as thieves and future travel partners; aether refused to leave you behind once the mess in inazuma is taken care of. you agreed without hesitation and so did kazuha, who refused to be without you, which grew your party from three to four.

you sigh and set aside your paperwork. "alright, well, you have my attention. what do you want?"

the traveler wrinkles his nose at you. "rude. paimon is with the other soldiers having lunch, so i decided to come and check up on you."

"lunch again? isn't this her fourth lunch of the day?"

"i thought we agreed to never question her eating habits."

"fair enough." you chuckle. "i'm alright, though. i'll eat later, if that's what you're gonna ask.

aether squints. "and how many times have you said that today?" you start to count on your fingers and your best friend scoffs and jumps to his feet, tugging you along with him. "i can't believe you. i'm making you some food right now."

"but the plans--"

"they can wait," aether's tone is sharp, but it's laced with fondness. "we're going on a lunch date right now. i haven't spoken to you in a while, anyways."

he's right; it's been a few days since you've spoken to anybody, really. you haven't even so much as seen kazuha during that time. the very thought makes you press your lips together. aether doesn't say another word as he takes you over to a fire pit with cooking materials nearby and gets straight to work. you were looking forward to spending time with him at first, but now that you've realized that it's been literal days since you've seen kazuha, you feel a pit growing in your stomach as you sit nearby.

did you do something wrong? if there's ever a problem, he's usually the first to notice and address it. you two have been together so long because you're so quick to resolve issues before they become too serious. you frown at the fire that aether started. sure, you two are good at solving problems, but how would you even have a problem with him when you haven't spoken to each other properly in weeks? the more you think about it, the less sense it makes.

"hey, are you listening?" aether's voice suddenly filters in and you blink up at him. golden eyes soften with concern. "are you okay? you're thinking pretty hard."

you nod stiffly, unsure if you're lying or not. "yeah, i just... there's a lot going on. or... not going on, i guess?"

your best friend hums and returns to his rummaging through the crates of food. "tell me what's up," he says over his shoulder. you hesitate for a second but end up telling him about everything; about what you heard, about kazuha's weird behavior, and about how you haven't seen him in a while. when you're finished, aether crosses his arms. "and you just let this go on for... what, a month?"

you grimace. it has been a month, hasn't it? "i didn't mean to. plus, we're both busy people and i don't wanna come across as clingy. he probably hates that." you clasp your hands together nervously. "have you at least seen him in the past few days? is he okay?"

"the fact that you have to ask me that is so..." aether sucks in a sharp breath and turns back to the pot with a dramatic sigh. you figure he's holding back his frustration for your sake. "i've seen him here and there," he says as he stirs something in the pot, "mostly with kokomi. they've been talking a lot lately, but i don't know why."

the pit in your stomach suddenly feels bottomless. is that what he's been up to? you start to reason with yourself immediately, but the second you do, aether puts a hand on your shoulder.

"you didn't know that, did you?" his question is spot on, so you stay quiet. the blonde frowns. "talk to me," he says, sitting beside you.

"you gonna let the food burn this time?" you try to joke with him, but it's half-hearted at best. aether doesn't so much as crack a smile, so you sigh and say the first thing that comes to mind. "i'm not good enough, am i?"

your words startle not just aether, but yourself. they feel like they came from your chest; from somewhere so deep that you almost feel relieved that you've finally let it out. you're bothered by how light you feel, but you can't stop.

"kokomi's perfect, we all know that." you continue. "i'm just... me. he tells her things that he won't tell me, his literal partner. i'm obviously lacking if he's willing to hide something from me for this long. i tried to let it go because, i mean, he could just be talking war strategy, but to ignore me..?"

a warm thumb brushes over your cheek and you blink at aether a few times, clearing your watery vision. you sniff and wipe at your eyes. "shit." you grumble. you really didn't think you were hurt enough to cry over this, but now that you've acknowledged it, the tears just keep coming.

aether gently guides your head to his shoulder. "you can cry, you know." he rubs a small circle on your back. "it's not like i'm going to judge you. but i don't want you comparing yourself to kokomi; you aren't her."

and that's the problem, isn't it?! you want to scream. if you were kokomi, maybe kazuha would talk to you, would pay attention to you. he'd probably smile at you and confide in you the way he used to. if you were kokomi, you would have his trust, because if the conversation you overheard was anything to go on, he clearly doesn't trust you enough to share what was on his mind. your throat threatens to close.

"i feel like a spoiled brat." you make another feeble attempt at lightening the mood, but aether doesn't let you. "here i am, crying to my best friend because my boyfriend doesn't pay attention to me."

"that's not the only reason why you're crying and you know it." the traveler pats you twice and stands so he can finish making the food. "if you ask me," he says from the pot, "you need to corner him and ask him why he's avoiding you. we all know that kazuha will listen to you."

would he, though? he'd been half-listening to you for weeks before he just disappeared altogether. the fact that he hasn't come to you for days must mean that he's been meaning to do this for a while, hasn't he? your lips tremble as you remember the way his eyes would crinkle whenever you spoke about something you loved. was he just... humoring you?

were you alone in this?

you close your eyes and try to get ahold of yourself. kazuha isn't one to fake something as meaningful as a relationship like the one you two have, especially not for so long. your boyfriend prioritizes honesty and is one of the most sincere people in all of teyvat. he wore his heart on his sleeve just for you, even when he admitted to you that that was hard to do. as composed as he may appear, kazuha fumbled gracefully through the early stages of your relationship, covering up his mistakes with the flowers that never seemed to stop falling from his lips. it was endearing how he went to such lengths just to hold your interest and impress you, even if it wounded his pride at times.

so no, you weren't alone in this relationship -- you've just hit a rough patch. admitting that to yourself does very little for your self-esteem, but it does pacify you for the time being.

"i guess i'll talk to him later." you murmur when aether puts some food in front of you. it's chicken tofu pudding -- something he takes immense pride in being able to cook. you stifle a laugh at the accomplished look on his face. "don't look so proud of yourself, i haven't even touched it yet. what if it tastes terrible?"

aether allows this joke to land this time and pretends to swing at you with the spoon in his hand. "i cook for you out of the kindness of my heart and you make fun of it? i'll take it back, you ungrateful beast."

"'beast'?" you gasp, offended. "just for that, i'll eat everything and leave you to starve."

he huffs a soft laugh through his nose. "so long as you eat, who cares. do you feel any better?" his smile warms when you nod. "you're lucky i love you. now eat and go talk to kazuha. but i'm warning you, the next time you cry because of him, i'll kick his ass."

"language," you mutter through a mouthful of food. the two of you bicker and chatter over your meal before he sends you off with a wave. feeling emboldened by your talk, you set off to find your partner right away.

finding kazuha is much easier than you thought it'd be. for the first time in days, you spot him sitting alone with his back against a tree, his eyes closed as he turns a leaf over in his fingers. you shuffle on your feet anxiously as you try to talk yourself into going over to him. you feel the way you did at the very beginning; too nervous to approach him in fear of upsetting or disturbing him. you dig your heels in and walk over anyways. the longer you took to talk about this, the longer it would go on, and the worse you would feel.

you're a couple steps away when kazuha opens his eyes and looks up at you. his lips curl into the same smile you remember him giving you before things took a turn. "hello, dove," he greets you. his eyes seem to sparkle. "it's been a while. i'm sorry i haven't been able to make time for you."

there's no calming the butterflies that take flight in your stomach. there's so much affection lacing his voice and so much warmth in his eyes that you almost forget why you were here in the first place. you walk a bit closer and sit so your thighs are touching. it's the most contact you've had in weeks, and you feel your skin tingling. the effect kazuha has on you is really something worth exploring.

"it's, um..." you curse yourself for being so cowardly. aether didn't make that meal for you for nothing; you have to say something. you inhale sharply. "i-it's not okay, kazuha. we need to talk."

there it is, finally out in the open. your boyfriend shifts so he can look at you properly, but you don't meet his eyes. "what's troubling you?" he asks. he reaches for your hand but you jerk back, and you can almost feel his worried frown. "dove?"

"kazuha, you... have been acting weird for like, a month." you don't waste a second. you don't want this on your conscience anymore -- you can't take it. "you haven't been yourself."

"how so?" again, he tries to reach for your hand, but you dodge his touch for your sanity.

"it's just... i know we're busy with this war but you've almost been ignoring me, and i-i don't know what i did wrong, if anything. you wouldn't even look me in the eye a few weeks ago." you chuckle mirthlessly; you're the one unable to make eye contact now. "if you needed space, i would have appreciated it if you just told me; i shouldn't have had to find out from aether that you're talking to kokomi normally and not me."

kazuha doesn't say anything. you keep going despite your steadily warming face. you think you sound hysterical.

"the fact that kokomi gets to know what's on your mind while i'm left grasping at straws is... it hurts, kazuha." your voice cracks against your will and kazuha's fingers brush yours. you don't pull away this time. "i know she's better than me but at the very least, can you let me know if there's something bothering you? i hate this; i hate feeling like i'm not enough for you. because you--"

your throat tightens. you deserve better rests on the tip of your tongue but doesn't make it out. that was the missing piece that you couldn't find earlier; you're suffering because you think kazuha deserves better than you, and the only person you can think of who fits that bill is kokomi. you don't resent her for it -- you resent the fact that you were born with so little talent in comparison to her. you think yourself so inferior to her that you're starting to want to cut this conversation short and hide from kazuha forever. your fingers twitch with the urge to pull away again; you don't think you even deserve to touch him like this anymore. you have to force yourself to keep speaking.

"you deserve better." you finally say. again, there's that feeling of relief. a weight is lifted from your chest and you take a deep breath as the knot in your throat undoes itself. how long have you thought this? "i just... i don't know. i just had to get that off my chest." now that you feel so light, you realize how final that last statement sounded. you hazard a glance at kazuha's face and feel the weight return when you see the distress in his eyes. you start to tell him that he doesn't need to respond, but he speaks anyways.

"i think the first thing i should do," he says, smoothing his thumb over the back of your hand, "is offer you my apologies -- one of many, anyhow." something akin to regret darkens his features for a second. "i hadn't meant to worry you like that, love. i have been close with kokomi because i was offering extra assistance in the war. she actually had to force me to stay out of it after a while, if you'd believe me."

honestly, you don't think you could not believe him. gorou warned you not too long ago that kazuha's determination to bring things to a close in favor of his fellow vision holders would be his undoing. he was pushing himself much too hard; you have a feeling it has something to do with tomo, but you don't mention it. you understand why he's been so distant, but...

"then why were you avoiding me?" you ask. "you didn't have to tell me everything if you didn't want to, but you were acting as though i was a stranger, kazuha. at the very least, you could have explained that you weren't feeling like yourself because you were working so hard. i could have helped you."

kazuha winces slightly. "i would like to apologize for that as well. i suppose i was so far in my own mind that i thought i told you. by the time i realized that i hadn't, i thought it was too late, and... i didn't want to drag you down the hole i was digging myself into." he brings your knuckles to his forehead and sighs. "to think that my oversights would bring you so much pain. i don't know what came over me."

your eyebrows twitch. his reasoning is irritating, but vaguely along the same lines as your own; after some time passed, you didn't think saying something about your concerns was going to yield any positive results, so you stayed quiet. you can't allow him to take all the blame. you should have spoken up as soon as you heard him speaking to kokomi -- it would have been embarrassing, but you wouldn't be here in this situation if you did. even if you didn't come clean then, you should have cornered him when you had the chance. "i should have said something earlier." you confess with a sigh. "this isn't entirely your fault. i let this go on for too long; don't shoulder everything like this."

kazuha lowers your hand with a hum. "that may be true however, i'm still capable of telling you when i'm unwell, and i didn't." he cradles your cheek with a hand, scarlet eyes filling with remorse. "had i said something before, you would likely not be comparing yourself to her."

"actually, i think i would have done that regardless." you blurt, chuckling in spite of yourself.

"i don't know how much good my words will do," kazuha takes your face in his other hand, "but i hope you believe me when i say i don't deserve better; i deserve you. there's no one better than you for me in my eyes, love."

your heart skips a few beats and you blame the lack of contact you've had with him. you're still unclear on how long you've felt that way about yourself -- perhaps you were so deep in your love for kazuha that you managed to suppress it. you believe kazuha wholeheartedly, but now that these thoughts have been set loose, there will never be a moment where at least one of them isn't running rampant. there will always be that spark of doubt lurking deep within, no matter how much you want to stamp it out. but you can't deny that for now, kazuha's done one hell of a job extinguishing that flame before it could get too big.

you relax into his touch and his reassuring words, clinging to the hope with all your might. "thank you." you murmur. "i don't mean for you to profess your undying love for me or anything, i just... really needed to hear that."

kazuha doesn't look as content as you are beginning to feel. "i'll never forgive myself for making you think like this. how can i make it up to you, dove? tell me anything; i'll do it."

he sounds like he's expecting a punishment of some sort. you move to kiss his forehead, smiling slightly when you see him blink at you in surprise. "you said you didn't want to drag me down with you." you flick the spot on his forehead that you kissed and giggle when kazuha's fingers fly to the area. "but i'm your partner; i'm willing to follow you to the ends of teyvat and back. drag me anywhere you wish."

finally, kazuha cracks a boyish smile of his own. "you may want to mind your words, petal. what if i drag you somewhere unpleasant?"

you hum and ignore the way your ears start to burn at the new nickname. "how unpleasant would it be if you're there with me?" as soon as the words leave your mouth, you scrunch your nose. "ugh, i'm starting to sound like you."

"you're getting there." he chuckles.

the relief you felt earlier was nothing compared to what you're feeling right now. you rest your head on kazuha's shoulder and nose at his neck. he shivers and wraps his arms around you. "i missed you." you whisper. "so much."

"and i, you." kazuha's voice is barely above a low rumble. he pulls you closer and you sigh, content. "forgive me for being so inattentive. i'll do better, i promise."

you kiss at his neck gently. "i forgive you, i do. but remember that you're not the only one at fault. we learned our lesson, didn't we?"

kazuha makes a low sound of agreement and rests his head on yours. "we did." a few beats of silence, then: "i love you." his profession is soft, carried on the breeze that rustles your clothes and the leaves overhead. "i love you so much, dove."

"and i, you." you repeat his earlier words and shut your eyes. "so much."

you two have an agreement, you help him write essays and he helps you with any of your math homework 😼😼😼

i think this may be a common hc for my beloved but he gets along great with his father!! really sees him as his role model and a man he aspires to be once he figures out his whole life thing

his father was a commercial pilot and would take him out on flights when he was younger but stopped once his health started to get worse :(

so bertholdt semi knows how to fly a plane just from seeing his father and would like to actually learn in honor of his father

when bertholdt was a child, he was really interested in planes and trains and things of that sort

which kinda prompted him to be interested in engineering

he would like to design and build a plane in honor of his father :'))

and also wants to create a more stable and environment friendly way of transportation

but apart of him wants to pursue biomedical engineering as well, because of the lack of support and poor care his father received

a lot of his career aspirations are not really his own but based around his father

which kinda fucks him up in the head the more he thinks abt it :/

so he just chooses not to :< which will also not do him any good either :(

I guess even in a modern au, bertholdt is destined to live a life of despair :|

he’s definitely not as super awkward as a lot of the fics on here make him out to be, awkward yes, but mostly just the quiet reserved shy guy type!!

he just doesn’t know what to say so he doesn’t say anything, which is a big problem for him :(

he has a lot on his mind most of the time but can’t find the words to express his thoughts, hence why he’s so bad at writing essays, but also why he has some sort of passion for math.

because math is a way of communicating abstract ideas that our brains can ‘decrypt’ and can unlock hidden truths that cannot be otherwise understood or discovered

^^because if he cannot understand the abstract puzzles of his own mind, at least he can understand something as equally as abstract like math

and that gives him some sort of hope of one day understanding his own puzzle.

though his father’s mother migrated to germany and married a german man, hence why he has a really germanic last and first name, bertholdt’s father migrated to america and married a greek woman! making bertholdt mostly greek and a little german (probably mixed w other stuff too)

has a really big extended family but I can see him as an only child or the middle child

another common hc but best friends with reiner and annie ofc!! but once they start college, they become friends and make one big friend group with the rest of the warriors (porco, marcel, colt, pieck, zeke) and with the rest of the 104th maybe (might make a separate post for what it’s like to be in this friend group!!!)

also may be a little out of character but i can see bertholdt being a college athlete just so he can go to college for free (doesn’t apply if college is already free in ur country but I live in the united states so rip :/)

he doesn’t see it as a career though, just can’t afford tuition sadly

alright so let's talk about harry's older sister

so lily and james did not plan you

they were straight out of hogwarts

just having fun

and suddenly lily is having morning sickness and james running into a store to buy a pregnancy test (or whatever the wizard equivalent would be 😗)

james would be so nervous the weeks leading up to your birth

he already knows that you aren't even here yet and there isn't anything he wouldn't do for you

and when you are born

he swears he'd never love anything as much as he loves you

his little girl

this sweet little lump of baby fat that was born with eyes just like his

he'd put his glasses on your little baby face, and he could laugh for hours at the way they just barely sat on your little nose (a miniature version of his)

your chubby little baby hands are his favorite

when you'd plan your hands on his face or wrap your hand around his finger he'd melt

Lily would joke all the time about how she carried the baby yet James is constantly hogging her

I think james would have some serious separation anxiety

Lily would also have trouble leaving you to go do something but she knew that you getting to see other people would be good

james is NOT a fan

and you were a big daddy's girl

"it's going to be alright, darling, uncle Padfoot and uncle Moony will take care of you."

and you'd respond with sad baby talk, something along the lines of 'daddy' and 'wanna stay with you' and you'd get all teary eyed

his cold, pale hand pushed you out of his way

the prophecy had said nothing about you, so he didn't care for what happened to you he just needed to kill harry

which obviously backfired

half the house was blown up

he was gone

harry was crying

and you just wanted your dad

you found your way downstairs, just barely making it down the steps

lily and james had never let you go up or down the steps on your own

only to come face to face with your dad just lying on the ground motionless

his eyes were still open

now i want you guys to think of the lion king

you know the scene where simba finds mufasa's dead body and just lays with it because he doesn't know where else to go

you just wanted any kind of comfort you could find

so with tear streaks going down your face you slayed next to your dad, getting as close as you could, hoping he'd just wake up

sirius is the one who finds you, asleep next to james' body

it was rather rough for sirius

and he could hear harry crying somewhere upstairs

you wake up to uncle padfoot trying to keep in his tears as he takes in the scene before him

you're just glad to see a familiar face

you run over to him, tears freshly falling as you wail about how daddy and mommy won't wake up

you also gently pull james' glasses off his face and keeping them in your small hand

keeping them safe for him later

you knew he didn't like to sleep with his glasses on

eventually hagrid shows up

you guys know the story

but i will say

it takes a lot for you to leave uncle pads and go with this big strange man

youre basically heaving as you beg to stay with sirius

and forcing you off his hip and onto the bike with hagrid was the worst thing he's ever had to do

even for a two year old, youre eyes held such a strong emotion of betrayal

sirius would never forget it

the dursley's were not fond of you and harry

you had james temper and stubbornness

harry was just a 6 month old baby

doing 6 month old baby things

for the first month you'd ask for james, lily, uncle moony, uncle padfoot, even uncle wormtail on a daily basis

until one day petunia just snapped

you had asked about sirius, or as you called him uncle padfoot, and petunia lost it

she started to shout, her hand coming out to strike your cheek as she told you that no one was coming

not now

not ever

you never asked after that

over time you forgot about sirius and remus and peter

you forgot about the song your dad would sing every saturday morning when making breakfast

or the way your mom would hum when she brushed your hair

all lily and james had become were familiar scents and the same pair of eyes you'd see in your dreams (though for a long time you just assumed they were your eyes, they looked enough like yours)

and you grew up always feeling like you were on the wrong side of a billowing curtain

you and harry grew up only having each other

you were very protective of him

and dudley hated it

because you had James art for pranks

and his art for rarely getting caught

unfortunately for you petunia and vernon didn't need evidence to incriminate you

you were often on the receiving end of disciplinary swats and missed meals

and you'd often take harry's punishments for him

you and harry were also forced to share a room

or cupboard

you let him decorate it with all his things (he didn't have many)

and you guys shared a bed up until you got your hogwarts letter

which that was kept very quiet

you got the letter

and petunia and vernon were just glad to be able to send you and your pranks away

you weren't allowed to tell harry

but you did anyway

secretly

you didn't tell him all the details but you told him that you were going to a school far away and you'd be back whenever aunt petunia let you back

going to school was interesting

you didn't know anyone

bUT HAGRID WAS ALSO THERE TO HELP YOU AND BUY YOU YOURE STUFF AND HE BOUGHT YOU YOUR FIRST WAND

you still have james' glasses

you put them on when youre nervous

so youre sitting in the train

first day

you don't know anyone

big round glasses sitting on your nose as you look out the window barely able to see what's going on

james was as blind as a bat

on the train you spend your time reading your new books

absorbing all the material

you were not going to just walk into this new school of mAGIC not knowing aNYTHING

by the time you got there you were at leas base level with most subjects

some were easier to catch onto than others

as long as you didn't let the logical side of your brain do too much work

within the first week you'd find out about your parents

james right there with you 

he watched as you sobbed, choking on your cries

the one time you'd let go of the reigns

but you had to do it 

so everything goes as planned

when you got back home from the war

the first thing you do is go through old photos with harry 

any and everything you can get your hands on 

you see your mother’s sparkling green eyes

the same eyes your brother had

Late Night HCs

Bucci Gang Edition

TW: nothing too extreme, just a little bit of hurt/comfort stuff sprinkled right here and there.

Bruno Bucciarati

► Bucciarati typically doesn't stay up late at night, he has work and would squeeze all the amount of sleep he can get on his free time.

► Unless he has a lot of things in mind.

► It doesn't matter whether it's a work-related problem, his past, a random thought, or just generally his worries about his future. It will keep him up.

► He'll definitely need someone to be an outlet but if no one's available, he'll just stare at the night sky and distract himself with the moving clouds or finish some of his work until he's too tired to think of anything.

► If you happen to be in the same situation and same place that night though, then make sure that you take care of the trust he has for you when he was at most vulnerable and he will do same with you.

► I personally headcannon Bucciarati to be the type to like those kind of conversations since i highly doubt that he has been so vulnerable in front of anyone besides Abbachio ever since he joined the mafia.

► And even then, he's mostly the one who lifts the spirits up and not the other way around since he's the leader.

► So expect to hear things and words you wouldn't expect to come from the Bucciarati you see everyday come spilling out of his mouth, it'll be a lot.

► Pat his back or better yet, give him a hug and brush his hair while doing so. He needs it a lot since he hasn't really got one after his family fell apart.

► "I feel so much better now, thank you. I'll make sure not to forget about this night. "

Leone Abbachio

► The night owl of the gang.

► Staying up until 3AM is nothing new to this man, hell, he could even go on a whole day without sleep if he has a lot of things that's bothering him.

► He's the opposite of Bucciarati, he prefers to shoulder his intrusive thoughts alone. It'd take some great amount of effort and trust to make him talk and let it out.

► What he does during those times is either using his stand to replay certain memories that could either worsen his guilt or put him at ease, or just drink until he passes out but most of the time, he does both.

► He could also be listening to some music while he does so but if he's feeling guilty for making Bucciarati concerned about his frequent drinking, then he'll just listen to music and hope that he'll fall asleep and not just keep his eyes closed until the sun rises.

► It works, kind of, but even without alcohol driving him to sleep, he'll always be tired. His sleeping schedule is seriously messed up because he never really cared about it in the first place.

► Would sometimes go out for a walk. Leone is fond of the city's peacefulness when everyone is asleep, with the only thing keeping him accompany is the cold air and the dim light of the lampposts.

► Secretly still has his police uniform and would occasionally take it out just to stare at it or talk to it in a not-so-kind of way as he sees his younger self in it.

► Gets dragged in whatever shit Narancia and the others are up to if he gets spotted. Mostly it's just for a movie night behind Bucciarati's back but Abbachio knows better and expects the unexpected when it comes to the gang.

► Knows what everyone does in late night if they're still up and has seen a lot of ungodly sights.

► Whether it be seeing a sleepy Mista and the pistols chanting a weird prayer to a bowl of cereals or Fugo being dragged out of his room by Narancia, Leone knows it.

Pannacotta Fugo

► Just like Bucciarati, Fugo rarely stays up late at night and if he does, it's usually just because he's busy.

► Fugo has hobbies like painting and reading, everyone in the gang knows that. It's just that he gets carried way too far sometimes and loses track of time.

► Who could blame him though when the book he's reading is just too interesting or the painting he's currently working on is almost done, right?

► On extremely rare occasions where something unpleasant enough to keep Fugo up at night happens, he'll bundle himself in his fluffy blanket like a butterfly in its cocoon.

► He always does this back when he's still living with his parents, it makes him feel safe from anything that's haunting him.

► And if it's neither his hobbies or problems that's keeping him up, he'll just hear Narancia whispering outside his door or Mista throwing pebbles at his window.

► For the first few times the duo did this, Fugo was still able to resist until he just can't anymore knowing that they wouldn't leave him alone all night.

► "Well, this isn't so bad. "

► He says as he enthusiastically tosses a popcorn into his mouth with his eyes glued all over the lit screen of the TV.

► Movie nights, along with sneaking out to go the nearest convenience store, became a common thing between the Torture Dance Trio™ ever since then.

Narancia Ghirga

► The type to wake up in the middle of the night and think "Hmm... Everyone's asleep, let's commit robbery tonight!"

► Fugo's sleep paralysis demon.

► Would literally not hesitate to steal chocolate bars with Mista and probably does 3AM challenges with him too.

► Never runs out of ideas to keep himself up at night and is the one who comes up with everything but what he does still depends on his mood.

► If Narancia's feeling a little too lazy then he'll just sleep and most of the time, with music keeping him accompany. But unlike Abbachio, he purposely doesn't wear headphones just to annoy Fugo whose room is right next to his.

► If he's feeling like it, he'll straight up just invite the others to watch a movie or play videogames even though Bruno has already made it clear not to use the TV after 11PM.

► But just as he likes staying up at night doing crazy things with the boys, he also uses his energy left and free time to self-study, as surprising that may sound.

► He may hate reading but he takes advantage of the fact that his brain is much active at night and he doesn't want to depend on Fugo too much. After all, he dreams on going back to school and he's more than willing to be capable enough to do so alone and pass without the other teen's help.

► Will cuddle anything that's near him while he studies but if you give him a plushie, it'll be instantly his favorite and he would definitely use it as a study buddy.

Guido Mista

► Alright, let's be honest here, this dude wouldn't even stay up if it weren't for his bros.

► 5 seconds lying on the bed and he's already knocked out for a good 10 hours if there's no work he has to do for the day. Make it 8 at weekdays thanks to his mafia-related responsibilities.

► He sleeps like a log so only a combination of shaking him up awake with Fugo and Narancia can make him rise from what seems like a two year coma but is really just a normal tuesday night.

► Will pretty much join Narancia at anything he does but since his last three brain cells are obviously still as half asleep as him, he won't be able to remember that much the next day.

► And once he's out of the room and is already sitting on the couch with the guys, Mista's the type to fall asleep halfway through the movie.

► You can't blame him though, it's 12AM and it seems that Fugo got to choose what movie they'll watch since Narancia already got to choose the other night.

► Unless they're playing videogames or are going out then he won't be acting like a slow ass PVZ zombie with a fried brain. Actually, he'll be hella active if that's the case.

► Active at grabbing every snack each second, that is.

► Actually, it's the pistols who does that but oh well, it's not like Mista's innocent too.

► "I swear it's not me who ate all of our groceries for this month! Right, guys?! It's the pistols! "

► And that, everyone, is how Guido blew their little rendezvous without even trying.

Giorno Giovanna

► There's not much to be said about this boy since just like Mista, Giorno goes to bed early as he makes sure he still gets the proper amount of sleep.

► He already has a lot of things to deal with at day so of course, by the end of it, he'll be exhausted.

► Nights before exams are excluded because although he may seem like he skips class sometimes, Giorno still knows his priorities.

► Only when he became the head of the mafia did he really started to lose sleep as great power comes with great responsibilities.

► It took a LONG time for Giorno to adjust to a lot of things cause come on, he maybe resilient but he's still a 15 year old teen.

► Not only does he have towers after towers of work but i like to imagine that he still continued his education and used some of the things he learns in class in the mafia, specifically in classes like history or geography class since as a boss, he has to know every nook and cranny of Italy.

► Not to mention that emergencies happen and he always has to be ready to give out orders, even if it means being woken up at 1AM.

► God, help this child because all the things mentioned above are just an understatement of what happens on the first few months of being in charge of Passione.

► "So this is why Diavolo looks like he's about to explode whenever something goes wrong huh. "
