i thought splatfest was next week (& only found out it was this week because i happened to check splatnet) so i missed half of it … really disappointing
#i probably would have known it was this week if i checked my dash but i haven't been on all week#because classes give me limited phone/computer time & lately I've been using that time to read comics or code#i'll probably be back soon but it's also nice to take a break for a few days. i literally only got on now because i wanted to complain abou#missing half of grand fest LOL. i wanted to see the performances while fighting against my joycon gyro#now i have to look them up instead… it's just not the same#i at least played for like an hour this evening tho. but tomorrow I'm out all day TT-TT they should have held it at a time convenient for m#such as next week. Oh well goodbye splatoon 3#i guess it's better than missing it completely tho. that would have been extremely disappointing#it's also bittersweet that 3's already at end-of-life because it came out my first semester of college and now I'm graduating this semester#and then moving on to a different college next semester… life comes at you fast. and makes your game lifespan feel infinitely shorter#fiftytenpost#splatoon

#i have once again logged out of most social media on my phone (still logged onto pinterest for art ref stuff)#my mental state has been rather iffy the last week or so#just some stuff that made the death of my friend last year fresh & even more painful. i'm glad i found out. it's good but bittersweet stuff#but yeah. it's not been fantastic and social media is just not good for helping one's mental health improve#i was finding myself on my phone waaaay too much. so i logged off#so yeah. if i'm super slow to respond to anything it's because my ipad and laptop are now my channels of communication for online friends#(except for the peeps who have my cell number of course)#on the bright side. i edited two chapters of my book this morning#last night was rough. so i made the decision to force myself to get up early and not sleep in. so worth it#i'm turning into a morning person. i need people right now and there aren't people when you stay up past everyone else's bedtime.#the ramblings of a dragon#my cousin has tomorrow off tho. so he and i are going into the city to visit a ttrpg/game store.#i told him last week that i was struggling with being lonely & he's been really good about inviting me to his place or coming over to hang#i'm so grateful for him

bg3 is one of the only games where i’ve had to take some space away with it due to content. and honestly? i think that’s a good thing
#i’m usually very good at separating my emotions from a character’s emotions/my past from a character’s past#i can probably count the number of movies/tv shows/games i’ve cried because of in one hand (the first one was angel. that finale got me.)#but bg3 is different in that i haven’t cried bc something was too sad/emotionally powerful but that i needed to physically step away#the similarities between astarion and myself became kind of unbearable but in a good way? like it was painful but it was well-done#idk if not for my past of SA i rlly don’t think his storyline would hit that hard to me personally. but because i see so much of myself#in his mannerisms and how he puts on a façade of being hypersexual it just. it just rlly gets me man#and this is GOOD WRITING!! it’s GOOD FUCKING WRITING!! but it’s very bittersweet for me bc i feel like i can relate to his storyline on#another level but it also causes such emotional pain that i wish i could disengage from it. just my thoughts tho#also just wanted to say: i don’t think it was ever confirmed that astarion was assaulted by cazador but he does textually have issues with#intimacy and sexuality as a result of cazador. so obv while our experiences are not the same i think it’s fair to draw parallels as long as#you don’t take implication as fact. anyway.#bg3#baldur’s gate 3#discussion of assault in tags

#im not gonna lie. im extremely pissed off lmao#117 hours for... a completely bugged ending scene? ugh#it was all going so nicely. i got to piss off and kill the emperor. bittersweet and ultimately sad abt karlach. sad but resigned abt#saying goodbye to laezel. triumphant abt having made it with my friends and finally having our minds to ourselves#only for it to be capped off by this? you can imagine how that disheartens you lmao#well. at least this makes one of my wishes more true hdkfkdkd i truly now have a reason to play this character again#ill keep an eye out and when the end is fixed ill play his story again and earn the ending scene anew#why is my character freaking out tho hsjzjdjdjf all the screenshots i saw of others games had their character just idling like usual#also the red feet imply the game thinks hes standing in difficult terrain. woof my game is just extra cursed or something ⚰️
