It is not the most showy content at the moment though....but soon!#I have made more spritesheets + wrote a 20 page script for the beginning of the game + lots of mechanical stuff.#OOH and our main town has a map and I've hammered out most of the major character designs!#(I have a comic I will share later this week about how character design talk in a team setting has been going so far.)#This gif is to share a little bit of whimsy and joy with you all. naruhodo ryunosuke patootie of all time wtf

a bunch of ryunosuke + van zeiks court shenanigans bc (besides the Frequent racist comments) they amuse me

love that ryunosuke picks up on this habit—although i know they both mean it sardonically

(also like the way van zeiks uses "my nipponese friend" definitely changes as the game goes on, but imo at the beginning at least it tends to surface when he's particularly frustrated/contemptuous of ryunosuke <- why are you paying attention to this)

it's so fucking funny to me that the reaper of the bailey, known to exclusively tackle the most powerful scum of society, reappears for the first time in 5 years only to take on three seemingly inconsequential trials in a row—all against an otherwise unknown young, foreign lawyer. if i were a member of the london public, i'd be losing my mind.

I have no idea whats going on in Amanda the Adventurer lore wise but I keep seeing her monster design in thumbnails and its so bad it pisses me off so have some foeart about it (like fanart but angry) + some process doodles

Not surprised with the lack of melanin coming from hoyo with the new natlan characters lol

Now tell me why Simeon, who is a freaking angel (spoilers: well not anymore) from Obey Me, which is originally a dating sim has a brown skin tone compared to the majority of the genshin cast where it's supposedly inspired by cultures or cities with a lot of dark or tan skinned people. Skin Representation IS IMPORTANT 🤗 cause look at this:

I have a beef with solmare especially with how many dumbass decisions they've made but I'll give them credit where credit's due

Guess I've glazed twst a lot when it comes to character designs but damn at least they TRY to be somewhat accurate and at least HAVE more than 1 characters with MELANIN (I think they should give these characters even darker skin tone but it's better than whatever genshin was trying to do with their playable characters ig) 😭 I know it's not a perfect game as it has problems and flaws (Whoever approved of Leona's whitewashed liongarb groovy card I will haunt you, especially since the cloud calling festival event is happening in english server) but you can see the creators actually try to properly portray representation in-game unlike SOME COMPANY

I am normal #WHICH SPEAKING OF! man I love the sholmes + mikotoba partner twist so much even if i got a bit spoiled about it. i just think they're neat.#The partners of all time I think.#Also also the found family!?!?!? I am A SUCKER for found family. they fed me so well.#funny thing was the barok character development surprised me despite the fact that I also expected it since the first game lolol.#I do think he's an interesting character and probably one of the best character development in the game. And that I find his design cool.#oh yeah I didn't draw it but when I saw that albert mentioned that barok is “the darling of the van zieks family” I was genuinely like.#huh? wdym. like man at the time “van zieks” and “little darling” feels wrong in the same sentence. that was until I saw his pre-#-trauma pictures n well. albert isn't wrong. which was a slight surprise to me.#In conclusion: I liked it a lot. and now occupies parts of my brain along with my other brainrots.#They fight for priority in my brain whenever I try to sleep or disassociate lol. Masked characters who never reveal their face/you rarely see their face my forever beloved i know u have a face under there but that mask is your face and I'm giving it a kiss even if you don't feel it

#many masked characters have my heart just cause it's literally one of the BEST character design choices ever #like hunk resident evil wouldn't be as fucking COOL if we saw his face right? that mask is part of his identity and his character #master chief another example if we dont count the show WHICH WE WONT #master chief probably being the prime example of a masked character #doom guy is one of my fav masked characters cause you CAN see his face sometimes but its always a RARE moment to see it #we dont need to see his face 24/7 cause he already gives off so much character through his body language #you can FEEL his anger and hatred for the thing's he kill's without EVER seeing his facial expression's #of course the original doom's also has a head icon showing you his emotions but the newer doom's REALLY leaned on the masked side of him #samus another great example #metroid dread is literally my favorite metroid game for what it does with her and the animation's they do for her #you can just FEEL and see what she's thinking/feeling/commiting too in every interaction #shes so quiet and stoic and when we do see her face its used to GREAT effect #samus is my fav masked character probably everytime i think back on her its always like omg...shes so cool...

#call me judgmental but chara design plays a huge part into my enjoyment of the game #if the characters are well designed to their setting with clothes that /make sense/ then hell yeah #big big reason why im drawn to ak and r1999. their clothes just have that sense to em #and why in ak i scrutinise pepe a lot bc (in part) her clothes are Wack and so out of touch with ak #now endfield leaks are out and om afeared its not looking great #great i.e. og arknights great #it likely has appeal. prob to greater masses. but not to me #the only good thing abt that leak is that the characters have more colour. but thats not a saving grace #endfield

My favourite part of Dislyte is the one person I saw question why there are so many furries in the game.

Like… do you know that most of the gods… most of the gods are Egyptian (gods commonly had animal heads), or Chinese (gods and figures commonly were animals or plants), or Greek (gods commonly turned into animals)

What did you expect? You thought Sobek, the Egyptian Crocodile God, wasn’t going to be a crocodile?

Honestly, I think the creators showed great restraint, all things considered

breaking news: surprising absolutely no one, pik has fallen in love with the fast paced fps game where the big, silent badass of a main character's sole goal is to protect the small, squishy innocents.

#lines i did #roboquest #i love this game its great #the writing is so goofy and i cant quite tell if its intentional or of its bc they dont have an actual writer on their team but eith #either way its simple and silly and i love it #not to mention its very vague and leaves plenty of space for potential worldbuilding...#and the animations range from wonderfully clean and snappy; like the reload animations for each weapon and the enemies movement animations #to 'lets just obscure the boss under esplosion textures and lower it under the floor so we dont actually have to animate it exploding' and #its still hilarious to watch every time #music is DAMN GOOD #gameplay is comparable to modern doom #a little rougher around the edges but hey its an indie studio not a triple a and theyre still working on it #npc designs are DELIGHTFUL. why does the robot wear a fake mustach. why does the robot with a single optic wear a normal pair of goggles.#they have so much character despite none of them uttering a single word ever #except for max i guess; she has dialogue. but shes also Literally The Only Human In The Game so like. she gets a pass.#anyway more of my mutuals should buy it so we can co-op it together.#(mutuals if u buy it let me know id be 100% down to co-op it with u)

I have not posted any of my analysis to reddit yet and I think I might just post it and ghost it. I've already spent too much time looking at other people's threads on there to feel any way good about interacting with folks.

I already went in an added the "I know you're going to bring this up let me save you the time" section which is exclusively touching on the frequent topics of:

"well what about the fingerprint nostrum and finger mimics? He is clearly just a crackpot"

"it's definitely some weird elaborate sacrifice to Metyr thing"
