How much do you think of me? Hm, honestly
Wish I could open your heart
Just tell me in words
There's no need to look around
Don't pay attention to other women, look at me
Twenty years of being a virgin doesn't affect Jungwon at all, I mean, he had done a lot of things like kissing, touching and stuff but the real deal is that he never enjoyed that much like he was always hungry for something he can't even understand...also because he never had the chance and don't rush himself.
At some point of his life he though he was asexual or somethin but that though change when one night he beat his meat thinking about other woman while he was watching porn.
He likes sweet scents like coconut or vanilla.
This weekend has been amazing since exam season are finally over, he finished all his exams with A+ and compliments from all the teachers, like always.
"Good job Jungwon, your parents must be proud of you" his teacher said to the young boy and he only smile politely to Mr Jeon.
He likes dumb shirts with stupid phrases like "I love milfs"
He is always been a top student, always stayed extra hours studying in the library or coffee shop alone to keep his mind quiet, he hated internal silence. But don't misunderstand him, he loves parties, love-hate hook up culture, loves to smoke weed sometimes in the living room of his friends while they drink cheap beer and play call of dutty until sunrise, playing basketball, helping his grandmother on the weekends taking care of her small tomato garden. He knows what a good balance is.
He likes long skirts and the tanning of the bikini strap since today.
That's what he though the first time he saw you in the kitchen of his grandma, you were on your back trying to get something you couldn't reach, Jungwon walked up behind her and noticed how the girl's body tensed when she felt someone behind her. She smells sweet, he though.
"You should ask for help if you can't do it alone," Jungwon said, reaching for the package of ramen she was trying to pick up.
"I see you've already met" said the older woman carrying a bag of fruits, which Jungwon quickly helped her with.
"Grandma, I told you not to carry any weight," said her grandson, scolding her.
"Jungwon, this is Y/n, our neighbor" her grandmother said smiling at the girl with curly hair and glasses.
"Hi, your grandmother always talks about you, I'm Y/n, one of the next door neighbor" said the young woman while looking at Jungwon.
"I'm Jungwon, nice to meet you" he said calm, of course he knows her, he's been moaning her name these days. "Thanks for always help my grandma"
He likes the girl next door.
Love, a usual selfishness
I'll raise the level between us
Have you seen a woman like this before?
I got what you need
After the little Talk, Y/n left some cherries on the kitchen as thanks for the kimchi that Jungwon's grandmother had previously treated the girl. Apparently all this time her grandmother and Y/n have been exchanging food because she had never tried korean food and since his grandmother was enjoying her free time she had before returning to Korea for a few weeks of vacation.
"woonie, tomorrow when I leave before you go to class, give Y/n this bag " her grandma said to Jungwon "And always be kind"
"I know grandma" Jungwon said to the old woman "I Will miss you" Jungwon hug and kiss her warm cheek "call me if anything happen, I'll go out for a while"
"Don't buy cigarettes or I won't leave you anything in my will Yang Jungwon"
"don't said that!" Jungwon scold her again.
Indeed, he went for cigarettes and mint gum.
Three days passed until Jungwon's grandmother reminded him if he had already delivered theq package to Y/n. Jungwon lied to her and said yes, quickly pulling up his pants after having been masturbating for almost an hour, it's been an hour and he still horny, a virgin loser.
Jungwon took a shower, he put on some gray sweatpants and a plain white shirt , perfume and before leaving the house he heard the ring bell only to find y/n in front of the door, cute make up, two lower ponytails, smelling like coconut, holding a cloth bag and her tits almost exposed with the dress she was wearing, Jungwon almost closed the door on her face involuntarily but stayed still, his gaze on her breast.
"Do you like my watermelons?"
"what?!"
"I said, do you want some watermelon?" Y/n ask as she shows up a glass tuper with fresh cutting watermelon and Jungwon sighed calmly, trying not to sound paranoid.
Y/n entered the house and left the fruit in the refrigerator while Jungwon looked for the package that his grandma had prepared for her.
"My grandma told me to give you this" Jungwon said trying not lo look at her chest. He didn't know what was inside of that box but when she opened he recognized four bottles of plum wine, he smile, It was handmade.
"What is this?" Y/n ask with a confused look to Jungwon, getting closer to him "What is written here? Is this korean right?
"It means Plum wine" he replied as he feels her boob on his arm.
"Drink with me, wait...You're over 18 right?" she asked opening a bottle looking at him.
"i'm 20" he said
"Aww you're a baby"
"how old are you?"
"I'm 23" both of them laugh at each other , jungwon make fun of her with the phrase "aww you're baby" in an ironic tone and then start drinking in the livin room, the wether was hot, the fan was on, bag of chips open on top of the table while she laughts at Jungwon's stories, touching his arm occasionally ,she was very touchy, he though.
Y/n saw a photo album under the little table and she began to take a look, seeing various people in that album, many places, traditional costumes, too many pictures and so much cultural differences for her was intriguing, little baby Jungwon looked so cute and everytime he shows her a photo with his parents, his eyes are pure nostalgic. She loves how Jungwon explains everything to her with many details.
I bet you can't forget my voice and my charms
Your hands, I held onto that moment
Baby, you make me, your hands stroking down from my neck to my back.
And those drowsy eyes.
Don't you want me?
I've got you a present, take it if you care
After two bottles of plum wine it's not Jungwon's fault you fell sleep on the coach looking so helpless in his lap, her head was on a pillow under his lap and he had the perfect view of your breast and lips, his breathing became heavy, you still aware tho.
"do you think i'm pretty?" she ask with her eyes closed making jungwon gasp.
"yes" he replied right away and she chuckle.
"have you ever had a girlfriend Jungwon?" Y/n ask tipsy again
"No" he replied "I mean I did a lot of things it's not tha-
"it's okay" she open her eyes and stared at him with an innocent look, big black doe eyes with long eyelashes "You don't have to explain anything"
It's not that Jungwon wanting you to suck his cock and stuff you up with his kids but actually that is what he needs right now.
"close your eyes" she said as she get up covering Jungwon's eyes, He was about to complain until he finds himself covering his own eyes with red cheeks . "Don't open them yet". The boy was nervous, his hands felt sweaty and he couldn't figure out what she was doing, he can only feel that sweet aroma getting stronger...like if she is gettting closer, his pulse began to increase when he felt a hand on his shoulder and something cold on his lips. Jungwon removed his hands from his eyes and he see how Y/n was holding a fork with a piece of watermelon to jungwon's lips.
"Fuck it" Jungwon takes her arm to bring her closer, the fork fell on the floor, they both look at each other and Jungwon approaches to kiss her unprepared , feeling her gloosy lips and how his body trembles, it was a messy sloppy kiss. "stop playing with me please"
Y/n was surprised how she suddenly felt his strong arms, she was cornered on the small sofa, his shy gaze on her, he was so cute like that "let's go to your room" she whisper and he nooded quickly as he stand up, the nerves were eating him up inside, he heard the footsteps behind him, Jungwon's room was on the second floor, once he arrived at the room, Y/n looked around and see a lot of posters of anime, movies and pop rock bands "do you like the driver era?" She ask
"yeah..."
"I love them!" she said as she sits in his bed "I always forget....
"...When do flowers bloom" Jungwon finish the lyrics of the song feeling less nervous.
Y/n patted the side for Jungwon to sit with her, he obeyed her "you look nervous." She said slowly while pressing his chest with one hand to lay him down on the bed, he let himself fall gently then she climbed carefully on top of him sitting on his prominent erection, feeling him hard rock underneath her panties, she gasp "you're hard already?"
She leaned closer to his body, bringing their lips together again, her tongue caressing his with slow and sensual movements as she feel how Jungwon caressed her cheek firmly, as if she was going to leave at any moment, she move her hip grinding on him wanting to feel him more, getting wetter just from the friction between her panties and her pants.
"Don't move-e" Jungwon panted as both of his hands grap her ass embarrassed
"why not?" She ask innocently
"stop teasing" at this point Jungwon is trying not to cum so fast to not look like a pathetic teenager.
"what do you want me to do?" She asked playing with the silver pendant that hung from his neck, it was rectangular and had a sun, behind it were two initials, YJ
"suck my cock" he whisper as his cheeks become red
She left the pendant, placed herself on her knees between his thighs while Jungwon made himself more comfortable on the bed, her delicate hands slid up his thighs, reaching the elastic fabric of his pants, pulling them down along with his underwear and her eyes opened without saying a word. Jungwon watched as she bit her lower lip.
It was long and veiny with a pink tip. She took off her glasses putting them on his bedside table as the boy only pray for his own sanity.
Without saying nothing she start strokin his cock slowly making Jungwon moan at the sudden touch, her tiny hands tried to grap the entire length of her length as she started licking his mushroom tip for a couple of seconds, eyes on him never looking away and in one go she put it all in her mouth, nose and lips colliding with his pelvis making the boy whine louder " fuck fuck just like that y/n" the girl was used to it and kept moving her head up and down as she felt Jungwon whimper her name constantly, almost panting.
Jungwon's hands held the two small pigtails and without thinking he abused her small throat with his swollen cock, in and out constantly causing grotesque sounds, leaving her breathless feeling the precum, his tip touching the end of her throat making her gagging, he tried to move her away but Y/n didn't let him, making him understand that It was okay if he cum inside her mouth, in any case, he didn't have much time to think about it clearly because the sensation was too overwhelming, making him release his seed in less than a second in her warm mouth, she cough and he opened his eyes finding himself cumming in her throat and her face with rosy cheeks, makeup smudged, catching her breath and wiping the remaining semen on her face with her fingers only to lick them in front of him.
He gulp.
She stood up, adjusting her dress, took her panties off so smooth and put them in one of his drawers "try not to cum too much when you think of me" she put her glasses again, fixing her hair a little and leave him in his room half naked, confused and most importantly, horny again.
"i'm fucked up" He said as he fell onto the bed

30|10|2024
Today was an organizing and planning day. I spent the entire day writing down lists of materials, downloading stuff and getting it on my tablet so I can read and annotated it more easily. Now I really have a good idea of how much I have to do to study for these exams. I also sent the last couple of emails to professors to make sure I have the right materials. I am still not sure whether I'll be able to take two or three exams, but it's okay, now I plan on doing as much as I can without burning myself out, and then when the exam dates are released I'll plan out how the exam season will be. The goal for November is to finish all the materials for my history of the Sabaudian states course, I'd like to do that in a week and a half at most, and then do as much as I can for another course called "spaces and places of knowledge: history, landscapes, contexts". For this last class I have about twelve recordings, and 8 articles. It's going to be intense but I think I can manage to get more than half of the material done before the end of next month. If the recorded lectures aren't too intense I could get them done in about a week, and then I feel like most articles will be quite easy to read and annotate. We'll see. I still haven't decided if I want to post an accountability list of everything I must do, but since they always work quite well I might post it one of these days.
productivity list:
read first thing in the morning
emailed a professor and made sure I can take the exam and that my materials are okay
organized the materials a uni friend kidly gave me (basically he printed out all the articles for an exam when he had to study for it, and then lent me all the photocopies)
wrote down detailed lists of all the materials I have to study for for three classes (I am prioritizing two at the moment but I also included an additional one in case I make progress quicker than planned)
planned the few things I want to get done before this week ends
downloaded all the online materials I could find and got them on my tablet
made a very handy and organized "study pile" to keep near my desk so I have all the physical materials near me (this includes, books, photocopies, and notebooks)

the rust that grew between telephones - c. pulisic
authors note: saw a video on twitter where christians parents called him a 'shy, soft spoken kind of guy' and I got really soft over him gif credit to owner word count: 2.6 k
you’re dead asleep when the phone screen begins to light up the room. you blindly reach for the it on your nightstand, refusing to fully exit your slumbered state. surely you had set your alarm clock to the wrong time last night, because there was no fucking way it was already time to start the day. you’d bet your life that you had just fallen asleep, at max, an hour ago.
it’s okay, you try to convince yourself. it’s probably only midnight and I have many, many hours of sleep left.
yet, as you peek one eye open, it is not your blaring alarm illuminating your screen and room. you’re met with christians contact photo. suddenly, you feel wide awake. the sleepiness and appeal to go back to bed is long forgotten, now only eager to hear his voice.
answering the call, his raspiness indicated he’d also just woken up. you hear his low voice, “hey baby.”
oh.
oh how you missed his voice, especially as the first thing to hear in the morning. if you closed your eyes, you could perfectly envision waking up by his side. tired eyes and soft giggles, as he pulls you close to him. you feel slightly pathetic over how your heart begins to hurt. it had only been a few weeks since you’d last seen him, yet the yearning was unbearable. you missed him. you always do when you’re apart, but recently it has been worse. your skin itched for his, lonely nights spent counting down the minutes until the season would be over and he’d be coming back home.
“hey you,” trying to sound as awake as you can, stifiling a yawn that wants to escape you. he must not realize how late it is on your end. sitting up, you pinch yourself a few times to become more alert. you manage out a somewhat energetic, “everything okay?”
“yeah, everythings okay over here.” his voice is softer than usual, sadder if anything. he pauses for a moment, you can feel his hesitation before speaking. soon enough he whispers his confession, uncertain and slightly embarrassed. you might have missed it if you weren’t hanging on to every word he was saying. “I just really miss you.”
your heart aches even more, if possible. “i miss you, too.”
“like, really bad y/n,” he’s always struggled with properly articulating his feelings. he prefers to affirm his love for you with simple, small acts and sweet, shy touches. telling you his true feelings always resulted in him turning a blushing and stuttering mess. therefore, you know how much this must really be affecting him, for him to outwardly say this. your heart breaks as he goes on, “do you know how much it sucks to wake up and not have you right next to me? it’s horrible.”
you do know, you always feel like that in his absence.
“i know, my love.” you sit up, trying to wipe away the weariness from your eyes. “but we’ll be together soon, yeah?”
“soon.” he confirms, it’s the only promise that's managed to keep him sane.
hoping to keep him on the line and distracted from the ungodly hour he woke you up, you ask him about what he has planned for the day. its meaningless talk, really. he goes on about the scheduled training and new tricks they’ve been working on, occasionally complaining about the team's current slump. once in a while you hum, letting him know you're attentive to every word he’s saying. yet you’re more focused on how soothing his voice was, it was all warmth and safeness to you.
still clueless of the time, he asks what your plans are. you begin to mumble about the exams and work you have planned for tomorrow- well, for today. you too, in return, complain of how exhausted uni life has been treating you and the endless pile of assignments you can never seem to finish.
your error is droning on about how tiring it all is, because it just makes you revert back to your drowsy state. you don’t even realize when your words begin to die off and a rather large yawn breaks loose.
“y/n? are you falling asleep?” christian frowns. he had been too wrapped up in the horrible mood he had woken up in, he hadn’t thought of the wretched time difference. “wait, what time is it?”
“uhm,” your hesitation lasts too long for his liking. instantly, it all clicks for him.
“fuck”, he groans. “it’s the middle of the night, isn’t it?”
“no.”
deny deny deny.
if he realized it was so fucking late, he’d send you back to sleep. that was the worst fate he could condemn you to, you were sure of it. with him training all day and the drastic time difference, moments to properly talk were rare. you weren't going to give up this precious, stolen time with him. your scarce phone calls consisted of quick recounts of what you'd both done that day and gentle whispers of how much you’d missed each other. too soon, one of you would have to hang up to either get started on your day while the other had to unwind from their day already spent.
you didn’t care how childish you sounded, you weren’t going to let him make you go to sleep. he couldn't make you!
“y/n.” he was much more serious, more stern. when he got like this, you liked to tease him, calling it his ‘captain voice’. that’d usually leave him with reddened cheeks and arguments long forgotten.
it comes out more of a question, then an assurance. “I was already awake?”
“y/n.” he repeats. yeah, it was a long shot that he’d believe that.
you mock him, “christian.”
you hear him begin to huff out his disapproval of your childish antics. much to your dismay, another damned yawn escapes you. no point in trying to win now, you rest your head back on the pillow and accept your defeat. you sigh, “okay, I was asleep.”
he makes a noise that sounds like a mixture of a disappointed groan and a victorious ‘hmph’.
oh my sweet boy, how I miss you.
“i’m so sorry,” he’s sputtering out apologies faster than you can try to assure him it’s all okay. “I was dreaming of you and then I woke up and you weren’t here. I felt horrible. I needed to hear your voice before I went insane. I called without thinking, i’m so sorry I woke you. go back to sleep, please.”
your reply is automatic, “no.”
“yes.” he tries (and fails) to reason with you, “you just told me how busy you’re going to be in the morning!”
“you can’t make me!” you argue.
“y/n.”
“so i’ve been called.”
“go back to sleep,” he tries again. you’re tempted to do it just because it’s him asking you. you would do anything he’d ask of you, it's quite humiliating how you’re putty in his hands. no, you have to stand your ground. you had missed him too much and you weren’t ready to say your goodbyes. back to his shy state, “i’m now very embarrassed that I called.”
that irks something in you. you’re stupidly obsessed with him, you’d go days without sleeping if it meant you could always talk to him. the fact that he doesn’t get that offends you quite a bit. if he’s embarrassed over how much he misses you, then you should be utterly humiliated.
“christian,” your voice comes out harder than you’d planned. “listen to me.”
instantaneously, his protest had stopped and the line had gone silent. you pull the phone away from your face, unsure if he’d hung up to make you go back to your unwanted slumber. no, the call was still connected. putting the phone back to your ear, you barely caught his faint, “yeah?”
“i’m glad you called.” suddenly, you feel as shy as you imagined he did. you also struggle to express your feelings but you’re desperate to keep him on the call, not wanting to part ways yet. “i’ve missed you terribly.”
another pause, “really?”
“I can’t believe you’d even question it,” you utter in disbelief. “of course idiot, ‘m always missing you.”
“i’m not questioning it!” all the clatter on his end of the line has stopped. you’d assumed he was getting ready to leave for training and now you were both left in silence. it takes him a few seconds to gather his thoughts and words. eventually, “i’m sorry, i’m just in my head right now. have i told you how much this distance sucks?”
“i know, my love” the urge to hold him and kiss him is borderline pathetic. trying harder to distract him from the sad thoughts and prior argument, you have to think fast. you drop your voice a tad lower. you try your best to sound as alluring as possible, “that’s why we should really take advantage of the time we have right now. c'mon, think of the fun things we could do at this late, late hour.”
you begin to mumble half-hearted details of what you had in mind, yet christian hums his disapproval.
“y/n, stop trying to seduce me.” the ‘captain voice’ reappears. “it’s only late for you and you’re about to go back to sleep, or else.”
it’s a teasing threat. you both can’t deny the smiles you’re fighting as the conversation unravels. scolding words but you know him, this was your usual banter.
“oh, yeah?” you counter back. “what are you going to do when you’re thousands of miles away, huh? and like i’ve said countless times, i’m not even tired!”
“you yawned three times as you told me ‘all the filthy things’ you wanted to do to me, i’m positive you’re tired.”
“oh baby, I think you need to get your hearing checked because I was not yawning.” you scoff, scolding yourself for getting caught. your brain fumbles trying to think of a good comeback. you blurt the first thing that comes to mind, “that's just how I breathe.”
“then you’re the one who needs to go get checked because thats some weird fucking breathing.”
you snort, “has anyone ever told you how good of a flirt you are?”
“no,” he deadpans, the captain voice more present than ever.
“hmm, I wonder why. should we, maybe, try to figure out why that is?”
“y/n,” he’s not letting you sidetrack him again. “please, go to sleep.”
you whine once more, “but I wanna keep talking to you.”
“i know, pretty girl but you have to sleep.”
you feel yourself losing this fight. trying to find some common ground, “will you stay on the call if I go to sleep?”
christian weighs his options, “promise to actually go to sleep?”
“promise to keep talking?” you counter back.
“if i promise, will you stop answering my questions with a question?”
you force yourself to hold back your laughter, “will you?”
he laughs and you’re unashamedly proud that you’re the cause of it. you’re sure you hear him call you a ‘smart ass’ but he swiftly denies it.
much to your delight, christian begins to tell you an in depth play by play of their last game and how he thought they could improve. half of you wants to fight the sleepiness and continue listening to his rambles, but the sane part of you begs for some needed rest. you don’t even notice when you drift off, slipping back into dreams of the next time you’ll see christian.
meanwhile, christian chatters on, even after you’ve fallen asleep. as he gathers his things to leave, he talks about everything and nothing. he tells you about how mason gave up on learning chess within the first ten minutes of christian trying to teach him. he tells you about how he found a new restaurant for the both of you to try next time you visit. the whole drive to the bridge, he recounts funny things that had happened with the guys and the latest gossips he knew you liked hearing about. he even managed into sneaking in a few, shy ‘i love yous’. as he went on and on, he knew you’d want to hear this again, once conscious, but he didn’t mind. he’d happily repeat himself a million times for you.
-
he’s gotten even more handsome, you’re sure of it. you hadn’t thought it was possible but here he was, in all his glory. big brown eyes and now close enough to chart the freckles across his cheeks. those stupid phone calls and banter don’t measure up to the way he’s looking at you right now.
he had told you there was no need to pick him up from the airport, that you shouldn’t subject yourself to the hassle. clearly you went against his wishes, tackling him as soon as you had sights on him. that's how you were now, pressed flush against him, arms entangled around each other with promises of never letting go.
“hey baby,” he whispers, lips pressed to your ear. “lets go home, yeah?”
instead of replying, your wrapped arms give him a gentle squeeze. unaware of the few curious glances directed towards the pair of you, you wonder if it’s physically possible to get any closer to him.
“i’m never leaving your side again.” you mumble, face pressed to his chest. you try to peek up a glance at him, looking away immediately when you see his heavy gaze already on you. why does he have to look at me like that? it makes me feel like i’m on fire. slightly shaking your head, “i’m serious, one day they’re going to have to pry my corpse from yours.”
his dimple is more prominent than ever, “y/n, you really need to stop trying to seduce me.”
you both laugh, basking in each other's presence. christian presses a kiss to your hair, reaffirming how much he had missed you. his left arm never unwrapping from your waist, even when you begin to walk to the car.
it’s a quick drive from the airport to your shared home. after unpacking and dinner and intimate touches were shared, you’d found yourselves laid in bed. your head resting on his chest, your fingers were mindlessly tracing the outlines on his tattooed arm.
christian lets out a content sigh, “you have no idea how much i’ve missed this, missed you.”
“i missed you more.”
after the busy evening you had just spent, it’s no surprise when you see him begin to snooze off. you don’t mind, you finally had him in arms reach and reassurance that you had many days to have the conversations that had been too scant.
you murmur, soft and quietly, “go to sleep, baby.”
“hey,” he barely peeks one eye open, the corner of his lip threatening to quirk up. “that's my line.”
you roll your eyes, giving him one final kiss to his bare shoulder “night, i love you.”
instead of responding, he wraps his arms around your waist and flips you to your side. you let out a surprised yelp but nonetheless, your body automatically finds the perfect way to fit with his. instantly, he pulls you close to him, leaving a delicate kiss on your earlobe. you barely hear his low, “i love you too.”
after that, his faint snores are all that is heard. you follow in his steps, eyes growing heavier by the seconds. yes, sleeping is much better when christians voice rings right next to you and not through a phone.
feedback is greatly appreciated please!

The Specialists as Your Boyfriend
Fandom(s): Winx Club
Pairing(s): Red Fountain X Reader
Character(s): Sky, Brandon, Riven, Timmy, Helia
Genre(s): Fluff
Writing Style: Headcanons
Summary: A few headcanons of the Red Fountain Specialists as your boyfriend.
Warning(s): None
Requested by: None
Note: Hello! It's been a while since I wrote some headcanons like these. And yes, I joined the Winx Club fandom recently because I just finished Season One! It feels good to go back in track! I apologize for my lack of posts nowadays, but I'll try my best to feed you some content! Enjoy your read!
Sky
I know a lot of people find him as 'meh' because he is sort of a basic blonde, I can agree
But for me, he's super sexy, I cannot. This prince completely stole my heart because of his basic personality (yes, I'm a basic bitch too)
Anyway, Sky is definitely a sweetheart, already seen at how he treats Bloom in the first season
But don't forget he's the prince of Erakylon, so he's definitely rich
Sky will pamper you with so much love and affection
Whether if you're royalty or not, or if you're a fairy or an earthling, this man will still love you
Hand kisses are a MUST
Brandon
Oh boy. This suave flirt
Because Brandon is Brandon, he will obviously love teasing and flirting with you.
But that doesn't mean he wouldn't flirt with the other girls in Magix
As Prince Sky's squire, he obviously knows how to defend you. He may or may not try to impress you that way
He will definitely bring you to dates in Magix. Wherever you want to go, he will come with you
He may be flirtatious to you and other girls, but I assure you that Brandon is loyal. How did he become Sky's squire if he wasn't a loyal servant to him?
And for me, I have a feeling he will give golden retriever vibes
Riven
THIS MAN IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE
Riven is really awkward and closed off in the beginning of your relationship. But as time goes by, he becomes comfortable
He isn't the best guy in words of affirmation, but the way he helps you out when you need it is always there. It's his way of loving you
This man actually has the best and warmest hugs
It's a guilty pleasure of his in which you try to calm him whenever he is about to go maniac over someone or something
Surprisingly very cuddly in private
Riven also wants you to stay in Red Fountain often so you can watch him spar with the other Specialists
Timmy
Similar to Riven, he is firstly awkward in the start of relationships (less awkward than the latter, however).
He loves to go to the library with you to study for exams and such
When he has new things to share, the first person Timmy will approach is you because he knows you will listen
Timmy is actually really blushy, and this is evident whenever you help him with his glasses
He isn't really into physical contact, but he does excel in quality time. He loves your presence with him
You're his assistant during calculations and he loves your cooperation as a duo
Timmy loves to gift you some new items and he likes to impress you with his logical thinking
Helia
Ah yes, the hottest guy to ever exist in Red Fountain of the Magix Realm
Helia loves to write poems and short stories for you
Since it is often seen that he loves to draw, he would secretly draw you in his sketchbook
Expect bouquets of flowers from him once in a week
It may or may not be expected, but Helia loves to say some pickup lines. These pickup lines are either cheesy or romantic

Classmate
Miles x black fem reader
(Not my image)
Summary - Y/n delivers a textbook to Miles’ house when he forgets it in maths class.
The extra curricular maths class is over. I attended because we have an exam next week. I really don't know why I stayed, I don't think I needed it. It's only a few students that went after school. The teachers words are just gibberish because I'm too tired to listen. The bell rings and everyone immediately starts packing up to leave this place to enjoy their weekend. I'm a bit slow in packing my things making me the last one to leave.
"Oh Y/n!"
I was literally by the doorway when Mrs Williams called me. I put on an award winning fake smile and walk to her desk. She's not buying though.
"You can stop the act."
*Sigh* "Was it that obvious?"
"I'm a black woman too okay. Don't get me started."
We both share a small laugh before she continues talking.
"Mr Morales over here has left his text book. Could you go and give it to him. I'll write his address on this paper. Usually, I wouldn't do this but we have an exam next week and I have a feeling he might need it over the weekend."
She writes it on a piece of paper and hands it to me. I read and it doesn't seem too far. Just in the opposite direction I go. I walk outside and start heading in the direction of the address. I really haven't walked here before but it looks pretty lively. There's a basketball court with guys my age playing, music blasting but in an enjoyable way and everyone talking to each other.
I reach the apartment building. I go to press the buzzer but someone was making their way out and held the door for me. I walk inside and up the stairs. I check the paper again to be sure. Third floor. Ok In that moment I realise how awkward this could be. I mean we barely talk. The only time we do is when we are put in groups to work together. Nothing else.
I knock on the door and wait. I can hear a lady talking. Spanish I think. I couldn't hear another person so she must have been on the phone. The locks on the door unlock and the door opens showing a lady in scrubs and an apron on top. The aroma of well seasoned food graces my nose. But that's not the focus.
She looks at me with an eyebrow raised. I think I should introduce myself before I die of awkwardness. I take a peek at her name tag. Rio Morales
"Umm hi Mrs Morales?"
"That's me."
"I'm Y/n and I'm just here to deliver Miles' maths textbook, he forgot it in class and we have an exam next week. Our teacher thought that he might need it so that he can study over the weekend."
She looks me up and down like the security guard at school. All of a sudden I feel like in hiding illegal substances. Her expression changes to a soft one. She's balancing her phone between her ear and shoulder.
"Oh come in."
"Wait but-"
She continues her conversation on the phone and walks to the kitchen. What now? I look at the time on my phone. Its 4:48 and I really should be home by now. I close the door and I peek into the kitchen to where she is. She finishes her conversation on the phone with a 'girl bye, talk to you later'.
She looks at me and I stand up straight. I've been taught by my dad to make a good impression and to respect elders, only when necessary. "I didn't know Miles a 'girl' friend." She did the two finger gesture at the word 'girl'.
"Well we're just classmates really." I give an awkward laugh to sorts ease the tension inside me. "Umm Mrs Morales I really shou-"
"Would you like something to eat. I cooked a lot so there is plenty"
The food she was cooking smelt so good. I haven't smelt something like this since my mom died. My stomach was begging for it but should I really. She has this smile on her face that is so convincing. Why not.
"Let me call home first."
"Ok"
I call and someone picks up the phone.
"Y/n where are you? You should have been home by now. You have me worried sick."
"Yeah, sorry Jay. I had to deliver something to a classmate. His mother offered for me stay for dinner. If that's cool with you."
"A friend? Oh how nice. Sure you can stay over. Don't stay too long though. Ok bye now"
I thought she would be my saving grace but no. Jadyn is my neighbour and is looking after me whilst my dad is out on deployment. She's always telling me that I need to make friends. I do have friends, in LA.
I cut the phone and look at Mrs Morales who has a waiting look on her face. "I can stay over."
"That's good. My husband should be back in a minute and Miles..... where's Miles?"
I take my jacket off and hook it by the door and place my bag in a corner. I take off my shoes and place them to where other shoes are.
"Well since I'm here I can help you. If you don't mind."
"Oh sure. You can set the table for me."
She hands me plates, cutlery and mats. I place them nicely with the fork on the left and the knife on the right. I place the extra mats in the middle for the food. The door opens and this big guy in a cop uniform walks in. I freeze in my spot.
"Hey Jeff, welcome home." Rio goes and hugs him and kiss his cheek. I look away though.
"Hi. Who's this?" He asks looking at me through those dark glasses. I can feel the intense look.
"This is Y/n. Miles friend at school."
Again with the 'friend'. I barely know the boy. We've only had a few interactions at school.
"Nice to meet you Mr Mora-" I had put my hand out to shake his.
"What brings you here." He takes his jacket and hat off to hang it.
Well, that hurt.
"I was just delivering Miles' maths textbook. He had forgotten it in class so I was leaving it here for him because we have an exam next week."
"Oh ok. What do your grades look like?"
"Jeff stop."
"What? I'm just making sure she ain't a bad influence on Miles. Speaking of you don't happen to be keeping Miles later than usual?"
"N-no sir. I'm a straight A student at school."
Now he was inspecting me from head to toe. I know the feeling. My dad did that if he thought I was doing something suspicious or making sure my room was clean. I get put on the spot, especially by people of authority.
"What do your parents do?"
Oh damn. Here we go. I always hate this part. When I tell them they have a look of pity and I don't like it. They start treating me like I'm fragile.
"Umm my mom died when I was a kid." I look down so I don't have to see their faces morph into sorrow. I finally look up and of course they look sorry for me. I give a small smile. "That was many years ago, it doesn't bother me too much." I try to brush it off.
"Oh gosh. I'm so sorry."
"My dad on the other hand is a staff sergeant in the army."
Both their eyes widen. Mrs Morales in amazements and Mr Morales in an "oh crap" kinda look. That the look I always get after telling people my dad is in the army and his rank shocks them. I bet he feels bad for assuming I was a bad kid and intimidating me. At that same time the door opens again revealing Miles.
"Sorry I'm late. I was at the library studying for next weeks maths exam."
We all look at him. This guy is in so much trouble. He looks back and notices me. Lord help this boy.
"Oh Y/n, what are you doing here?" he asks confused.
"Oh you where at the library. Wow Jeff we have a smart and dedicated son right." Rio cheerfully says.
"Oh yeah, I'm very proud. So what topic where you studying?"
"Umm you know algebra, trigonometry and stuff."
"Oh what were you using?"
"My maths textbook."
Lord send an angel to take me now. The sarcasm is so present in the room. How can he not detect it? But at the same time I wanna watch. Both Mr and Mrs Morales give each other an unimpressed look. It's about to go down (insert Kevin Hart voice).
"Ok Mr 'I was at the library' answer this question. How can you study when your maths book is on the table?" His mom asks.
He glances at the table behind me and sees his textbook laying there.
"Y/n here has kindly come to drop your book here since you left it at school. Isn't that so nice of her hmm?" The tone in her voice is so unsettling. I would melt if I was Miles. Caught in a lie. Miles then looks at me. I feel guilty for bringing his book. Wait that ain't right, it's not my fault for the kind gesture.
"Anyway, dinners ready. We'll talk about this later. Y/n is staying over for dinner. She set the table so nicely."
His mom goes back into the kitchen to dish the food. His dad goes to sit at the table and Miles lays his stuff on the sofa in defeat and sits next to his dad. I shuffle to the kitchen to continue helping.
Now we are all seated at the table. His dad at the head of the table, his mom next to him, Miles opposite her and me next to her. But other than that, food looks great. I sit with my hands to my side. I don't want to make the first move.
"Let's say grace shall we."
They each other’s hands. I follow the same suit. I do this with my dad when he's home. His mom starts to pray.
"Lord may you bless this food we are about to eat, bless the people in this house.... even if they attempt to lie. Amen."
Talk about shade. I'm sure the heavens felt that. Now we are eating in silence. It's fine because the food is so delicious.
"So y/n, you said your dad is a staff sergeant. How long has he been in the army?"
I swallow my food and answer the question. "He's been in the army for 22 years now. He's 45 now so he was 23 when he joined."
We eventually finish eating. The conversations flow nicely without any awkwardness. However Miles hasn't said a thing. Kinda forgot he was here.
"Miles clear the plates." Without a word he hurry's to do the dishes. While his mom and dad are talking about their day at work I go to the kitchen to help him out. I grab a dish towel that's on the counter and start drying the dishes.
"Sorry if I got you in trouble."
"It's not your fault, it was for a good reason. I shouldn't have lied in the first place."
"Call me a detective or something but I think you had paint on your face. I don't think your parents noticed."
He pauses and looks at me. He clears his throat and discreetly says "Spray painting."
"Oh word?"
He nods his head and continues with the plates.
"Anyway thanks for bringing my book."
"Don't thank me, it was Mrs Williams' idea. I was just about to head home when she stopped me. Then your mom asked me to stay for dinner. Btw your parents are so intimidating but nice at the same time."
He laughs. He has a cute laugh.
"I think a dad in the army is more intimidating if I say so. I think you had my dad a bit shook. What does your mom do?"
"Uh my mom was a nurse."
"Was?"
"She died when I was a child, too young to remember."
"Oh I'm sorry about that."
"It's ok. Anyway, we've finished now. I have to get going home. It's dark now."
"Thanks for helping out. See you at school then."
"Yeah."
We bothwalk to the dinning area. This grabs his parents attention. "Uh I have to get going now. Thanks for the meal Mrs Morales, it was really nice."
"Oh darling, it's fine. Hope to see you again. But it's dark now, I'm sure Jeff can give you a ride."
He happily agrees and gets up to put his jacket on. I put my shoes and jacket on and pick up my bag. I say goodbye to Mis and his mom. I can see Miles say something behind his mom without her noticing. He said 'pray for me'. Oh yeah he's still in trouble. I close the door and walk downstairs with his dad.
I give him the address and it's a silent ride. I'm not complaining though. I open the door and Jadyn is already by the door.
"Y/n it's dark out and....... what have you done?"
She notices the cop behind me.
"Oh this is Miles' dad, he gave me a ride home. You know, my 'friend'.
"Oh well thank you Mr Morales for bringing her home, hope she wasn't any trouble."
"Not at all. It's my son that's in trouble. It was nice to have you y/n."
With that he leaves.
"Miles huh? Sounds like a boy name." She's smirking at me.
"No" I leave for my room before she can say anything else. I jump on bed thinking about today. Today was ok. That interacting with Miles was fun. I'm glad I stayed after all.

The Cleanup Crew - Tactical Maid Service
[Next Chapter]
A while back I was waffling on about how I finally wrote something again, and so here it is. I was holding out cuz I wanted to have more of the next chapter(s) finished first, but I figured I should just go ahead and post this before a million years go by. As usual it's a send up of various anime tropes, as well as my inner repressed 16 year old that never stopped playing too many first person shooters.
Female sneezes - Dust
Operation "Hurry"
A spotlight switches on with a sharp kcham, illuminating a circle on the warehouse’s concrete floor. In its center stands a young woman clad in a black and white maid’s uniform, the cloth slightly wrinkled, but hardly noticeable at a distance. She holds her hands together calmly in front of her waist, though only for a moment before she caves to the urge to visor her eyes from the blinding light.
“Alright, last one for today,” grumbles an unseen voice from somewhere up above. After a brief pause, the maid fidgets and points to herself.
“Um, me?” she asks, looking at where she assumes her proctor must be.
“No, behind you.”
The maid turns around, and an incredulous groan immediately follows.
“Yes, you. Jesus, how’d a bucket like you pass selection? Ugh, forget it. Step forward.”
A series of overhead lights activate in sequence, revealing the entrance to the examination course. Still fidgeting, the maid approaches.
“Grab one of the weapons from the table.”
She hadn’t even noticed the table until the proctor pointed it out. Atop the rough wooden surface sits a sawed-off double barrel shotgun, a half-empty box of shells, and absolutely nothing else.
“This is the only one here,” observes the maid.
“You want it or not!?” snaps the voice from on high, startling the trainee half a foot into the air.
“Alright, alright, jeez,” the maid replies, retrieving the weapon. She breaks it open, loads two of her meager collection of shells, and after a brief struggle, slips it into the concealed holster under the back of her skirt.
“Okay, moving right along,” the proctor continues. “Yadda yadda, complete the course as quickly as you can, yadda yadda. By beginning the examination you consent to hrmm meh meh, you waive your right to blah, blah, blah… Look, this is the fiftieth time I’ve read this today. You know what to do, right? Just go through the thing.”
The maid blinks, glancing back and forth between the door and the still-obscured source of the voice.
“Uh. Yeah, totally. For sure.”
A single clap echoes in the rafters.
“Okay, great, great. Start whenever you’re ready. I’m gonna go grab a ham sandwich.”
Footsteps on the catwalk above fade into the distance, leaving the maid to shrug and shake her head.
“Yeah, okay. Rude?” she mumbles to herself, turning to face the entrance to her final test. A plywood facsimile of a foyer is visible through the open door, decorated with a few plastic houseplants. The maid cautiously sticks her head through the threshold, half expecting to be hit in the face by some manner of contraption. To her amazement, nothing happens. Suspiciously so, in fact. She proceeds to creep across the room, eyeing the doors on either side of the far wall, but she slows to a stop when something else catches her attention.
A metal grate is set into the wall. Neither near the ceiling nor the floor, it seems oddly out of place even in the industrial approximation of a manor. Almost as if it isn’t supposed to be there. Looking back over her shoulder, the maid approaches and discovers all but one of the screws meant to hold the grate in place are missing. After one more glance up at the vacant walkways above, she simply swings the grate aside and hauls herself through the opening.
Perhaps a more seasoned operator might have thought to look through the grate at some point before opening it. The unlucky maid assumed she was about to skip ahead in the exam course, but instead she finds herself wedged into a cramped metal duct, arms pinned to her sides and feet kicking uselessly in the air. Before even opening her eyes to take stock of her new surroundings, she stubbornly wiggles herself deeper into the vent.
“Well, this was a stupid idea…”
The test proctor may not have been watching, but the fates were certainly listening. When the maid took a deep breath to gather her strength, she instead succeeded only in filling her big, clumsy nose with dust. Her flailing legs go limp, and the warehouse hangs in silence for a moment before…
“ah-ahh-ahhh-CHOOOO!!!”
The maid’s loud, powerful sneeze did nothing to clear her sinuses. On the contrary, the remaining dust that had settled in the vent was scattered into the air, only exacerbating her need to sneeze again.
“ah-ahh-CHOO!!”
And again.
“haa-CHOO!”
And again…
“ah-ahh… AHH-CHHOOOOOOO!!!”
Her frantic wiggling resumes, adding a chorus of popping and straining sheet metal to the cacophony. Mercifully the duct isn’t especially long, and eventually the maid manages to shimmy and sneeze herself far enough along to free her arms and fully push herself out the other side. She lands upside down in a heap, legs kicking one more time as she gives another “ah-CHOOO!”
The maid rolls herself upright, sitting on the floor of an unexplored part of the test. Instead of reorienting herself, she shakes her head and begins to rub her tickly nose up, down, and all around with the palm of her hand. Finally she cracks one eye open with a thick, wet sniff. The room is dark, but it again appears to be plywood construction with more fake plants.
“Hey, Bucket? Where’d you go?” calls the proctor through a mouthful of food. The maid just manages to register their footsteps approaching from somewhere behind before she folds over with a screamed “HA-CHOOOO!!”
The footsteps quicken to an awkward jog, soon arriving overhead.
“Oh, shit! I didn’t think you’d get this far already. Let me just…”
The room lights up, and the maid has no time at all to absorb her surroundings before cardboard targets burst out of every nook and cranny, and the deafening sounds of recorded gunfire fill the air. If the maid had bothered to stand, imaginary bullets would have already torn her to shreds. Instead she sits in dubious comfort behind a couch, desperately rubbing her nose.
“Intruders! Shoot the targets!” shouts the proctor, scarcely audible over the chaos. The maid fumbles for her shotgun, nearly pulling her skirt down to her ankles before she manages to retrieve it from its holster. Then, barely able to keep her eyes open, she peeks over the back of the couch, points her weapon roughly in the direction of one of the cardboard cutouts, and pulls the trigger.
The recoil sends the maid falling back to the ground, where she remains for a moment as she gasps and heaves forth a strained “ah-ahh-CHHOOO!” She shakily returns to her feet and repeats the process, shooting, falling, and sneezing all over again. This time she doesn’t stand, deciding to reload first. She opens her shotgun and dumps out the two empty shells, then begins to feel around under her skirt for more.
“Remember, switching to your pistol is always faster than reloading!” the proctor advises.
“I don’t have a pistol!” shrieks the maid, kicking her feet up and down.
“Shit, uh, sorry…”
Just as the maid finally manages to fumble a shell into one of her shotgun’s barrels, a falling hunk of metal hits her right on the nose. She screams and covers her face, rolling onto her side and unknowingly kicking her shotgun across the floor. What the hell even was this test? If she’d known she was going to be treated like this, she would have just stayed home and stuck to video games.
Her right hand finds the dropped pistol after a few aimless slaps on the floor. Knuckles white on the grip and breathing heavily through clenched teeth, the maid rises to her feet, takes what she assumes is a shooting stance of some kind, and fires wildly at the remaining targets. She continues pulling the trigger even after she expends her last bullet and the pistol’s slide locks back, only coming down from her rage when the simulated gunfire stops.
Somehow, against all odds, each of the cardboard targets have been neatly punctured. Well, maybe not neatly, but good enough. The maid lets her arms fall to her sides, and soon her jaw and eyelids begin to droop in turn. Her head tips back, her large, teardrop-shaped nostrils flare, and…
“AAHHH-CHHHOOOOOOOO!!!”
And she doesn’t stop sneezing for the next… She doesn’t even know how long. Somebody takes her by the shoulders, leads her somewhere, and someone else begins to address her, all while she continues to sneeze.
“Hello, and allow me to congratulate you on passing your final assessment.” This new voice is lower and softer, not that the maid is able to pay any attention.
“ah-CHOO!”
“Your form says your callsign is ‘Bucket’? Is that right?”
“Aaah-CHOOO!!”
“Wonderful. Let me be the first to welcome you to The Cleanup Crew.”

Rice, Rice, baby | Chapter 31
Previous chapter | Next chapter
Masterlist
“I'm so sorry, Declan. I swear I thought this time was the one.”
“You don't need to apologize, Liv.”
“Don't I? It's the third time I've thought I'm in labour and then…”
And then nothing. It is just another false alarm.
My due date is in a couple of days, but for the last week I've been feeling all types of cramps and discomfort, and we've ended up at the hospital twice.
The first time was while Declan was at some kind of pre-season training camp in Portugal and I was alone in the house with his mum. When I described to her what I was feeling she also thought the baby was coming, so we called for a taxi and went to the hospital. But after a quick exam, they told me everything was ok and that it wasn't time yet. While all that was happening, Declan had already packed all his things and was about to jump into a car and go to the airport.
The next false alarm was at night, the pain being so unbearable that I woke up Declan with my screams and scared the hell out of him. But when we made it to the hospital, it was gone. They checked me again just in case something was wrong since the pain had been horrible, but they only told me that the baby was in the right position and that everything was ready.
And then, we have today. We were having lunch with his mum when I started to be in pain again, and this time it was different. So we packed everything, called my doctor… and halfway there the pain was gone, which makes me think that it may have been just air if you know what I mean.
“What you are feeling is normal, Liv” Declan's mum says. “It is your first pregnancy, you don't know what to expect.”
“Yeah, but… You all must be so tired of me…”
“I could never get tired of you, Liv” Declan says, giving me a look that makes my stomach do a flip, something that definitely doesn't help with all these false alarms.
“Thank you. I guess” I manage to reply.
“Why don't we finish having lunch? We can still warm up everything” his mum says.
“I think I'm gonna go take a nap. Resting may do me good.”
“Then I'll save you some food for later. You need to eat and keep your strength just in case.”
“Thank you” I smile.
“Do you want me to help you go up the stairs and get in bed?” Declan offers.
“I'll do it myself, don't worry.”
“Ok” he nods, his eyes fixed on me as I leave the kitchen.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
“Breathe, Olivia. Breathe” I say to myself while looking at my reflection in the bathroom’s mirror, my hands grabbing the sink with such strength that my knuckles have turned white. “That definitely felt like what they say your water breaking feels like. But maybe it wasn't that. Maybe… fuck!”
No, that was real. That pain was very real.
“Ok, ok” I say again as it goes away. “You have to go downstairs, Olivia. You can't start yelling like a madwoman and scare everyone” I say as I slowly leave the bathroom, focusing on my breathing like I was taught. “Step by step. And we breathe. We… breathe.”
As I walk down the stairs, I can hear Declan and his mum talking in the kitchen.
“I was going to tell her, mum. I was finally going to do it. But then the accident happened, her dad kicked her out and I just… She was too vulnerable.”
“But you have to tell her, Declan. You are about to have a baby together!”
“I know, mum. But it isn't that easy.”
“Why not?”
“Because in case you've forgotten, I behaved like a dick with her and broke her heart. I hurt her really bad, mum. Really, really bad. I can't just go to her now and be like, hey, Liv. I'm in love with you and have basically been since the day we met.”
He… what?
“Fuck!” I cry, making both Declan and his mum turn around to look at me while I hold onto the kitchen door's frame as if my life depended on it.
“Liv! What are you doing here? Are you ok?” he says, quickly running towards me.
“I think this time it isn't a false alarm.”
“What?”
“I suddenly woke up from my nap feeling something weird, went to the bathroom and I think… I think my water broke.”
“Are you sure?” Declan mum's asks me.
“I… Fuck! That hurts!”
“Mum, we have to take her to the hospital. I also think this is it.”
“Take her to the car, I will go grab everything else.”
“Ok” he nods. “Liv, it's time to go” Declan says.
“I can't.”
“You can't?”
“I'm not ready, Declan. I can't do this.”
“Liv… Liv, look at me” he says, cupping my face and forcing me to look into those blue eyes of his. “You can and you will. You are the strongest woman I know.”
“But it hurts so much already. I can't do this for hours.”
“You can and you will do this” he repeats. “I believe in you. Now let's go” he says before lifting me in his arms and carrying me to the car.
I can do this. I can.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
“I can't believe he is real.”
“Neither do I” Declan chuckles.
I had done it. I had actually managed to do it, and he was here. Our healthy and gorgeous baby boy.
“Who do you think he looks like? My mum says he is just like me, but I don't see it.”
“I think he looks like himself” Declan says, caressing his cheek. He is sitting on the bed with me, one arm around my shoulders while the other rests on mine, both of us holding the baby. “Our nameless little man. Though I've found a name that I think ticks all the things you want and like.”
“Really?”
“Yep” he nods. “I was waiting until he was born to tell you because of what Georgina said, that sometimes babies are born and the name you've chosen for them doesn't fit them. But I don't think that would be the case. I think this name is perfect for him.”
“And are you going to tell me what's that perfect name or…”
“Oliver. Oliver Rice.”
“Oliver…” I repeat, looking at him. At this tiny human being who has completely changed my life and put it upside down.
“Usually when people find out that they are having a boy they name him after the father, a grandfather, an uncle… But why not after his mum?”
“What?” I say, looking back at Declan.
“I thought of Oliver because I was thinking about you… Olivia” he says, those blue eyes of his that I truly hope the baby also has, meeting mine. “You are one of the most amazing women I've ever met, definitely the bravest and strongest. What you've done today is just another example of it. And I think that one day, when he is old enough to understand it, he will agree with me and say that being named after you is the biggest honour evertouche.”
“Declan…” I whisper, not being able to contain my tears. Again. I've lost count of all the times I've cried since I gave birth.
“Oliver also has a good nickname: Ollie” he says, wiping away some of my tears, the feeling of his hand on my face making me gasp. “I think it is cute and a bit cheeky, which is something I have the feeling he will be” he smiles. “And even though your names may be similar, Liv and Ollie aren't, which means no one will get confused, and that was something very important on your list.”
“The most important one” I chuckle. “Well, that and that it sounded good with your last name. It isn't an usual one.”
“Oh, I know” he laughs. “But Oliver Rice has quite a nice ring to it, don't you think?”
“It does” I smile.
“And if he was already going to have my last name, it was only fair he was named after you, Liv. It takes two to make a baby, and you've actually been the one who has done all the work.”
“Are we calling him Oliver, then? Ollie?”
“You have the last word, Liv.”
“Then welcome to the world, little Oliver” I say, kissing his forehead. “And thank you for everything, Declan. I don't know what I would have done without you.”
“Like I just told you, it takes two to make a baby. I would have never left you alone or on your own, Liv. Never” he says.
“Thank you” I whisper as I lean forward towards him. Towards his face, his lips. I so want to kiss him.
“Liv…” he whispers back, also moving closer. And then…
“Liv!” Madders says, walking into the room.
“Bloody hell” Declan mutters.
“Oh my God, Liv. He is here!”
“Hello, James” I say, trying to smile and forget that he just ruined a perfect moment.
“You are a mum, Liv! And you a dad, Deccers! Can you believe it?”
“Not really” he says, his hand giving my shoulder a little squeeze before he moves from the bed. He hadn't left my side since Oliver was born, and now it feels so weird to not have him next to me… Almost as if something was missing.
“I saw your mum outside and she said that everything went great and that you are feeling good. Or as good as one can be after bringing a child to the world” Madders chuckles. “Can I hold him?” he asks.
“Yes, of course” I say.
“Hello there, little man.”
“Careful with…”
“Declan, I'm a father of three. I know what I'm doing. But guys, he is gorgeous. Are you sure he is his?” Madders says, nodding towards Declan with a teasing smile.
“You are so not funny, James” I reply, rolling my eyes.
“I'm sorry, I'm sorry. But he is one of the prettiest babies I've ever seen, and as newborns they all are quite ugly, to be honest. You should see my photos” he chuckles.
“Nothing has changed, then” Declan says, teasing him back.
“Touché” he laughs. “Did you finally pick a name? You can still use James if you can't decide, you know I will be honoured.”
“We actually have. Oliver. Oliver Rice” I say, reaching for Declan's hand.
“Ollie to friends and family” he says, taking it and interlacing his fingers with mine.
“Ollie… I love it” Madders smiles. “My gorgeous nephew Ollie.”
“And Godson too if you'd like.”
“What?”
“You are my older brother, James.”
“Yes, but… What about Declan's brothers?”
“Oliver is the sixth grandchild in my family. We all already are Godfathers of someone” he shrugs.
“But… are you sure? I mean, what about Micky? Or Mason. Or Sonny! He would make an amazing Godfather too.”
“He would, I agree. But like I said, none of them are my older brother, James. Only you” I smile.
“And Van de Ven actually is an old fling and Mason an old crush, aren't they?” Declan teases me. “That could make things awkward.”
“Oh, shut up!” I say, trying to hit him but only managing to make him laugh.
“Guys, I…” Madders says. “Thank you. Thank you very much.”
“Thank you, James. Neither of us would be here if it wasn't for you. Especially not him.”
“Definitely not him, no” he chuckles. “My beautiful Godson and nephew Oliver. Ollie” he says before kissing his head and starting to tell him about all the things they are going to do together as he grows up while Declan and I just smile at them, our hands still linked together, my head resting on his arm.

you make it durable
omg exam season is over and i finally got time to write again pfghskh anyway- just something small so that i can get my lazy ass back into writing<3
⋆.˚⭒⋆.˚⋆⭒˚。⋆⋆.˚⭒⋆.˚⋆⭒˚。⋆⋆.˚⭒⋆.˚⋆⭒˚。⋆⋆.˚⭒⋆.˚⋆⭒˚。⋆
This day had been ungodly awfull.
In the morning, you woke up two hours before your alarm and failed to get back to sleep. Leaving the house, you slipped on your frozen front porch, fell face flat on the ground, which resulted in you spilling your hot coffee all over your clothes. At work, you got yelled at by some random producer, and just as you thought your day couldn't get any worse, a coworker of yours decided to throw a tantrum for half an hour, resulting in an argument with them.
No joke, you should have known that from the second you had woken up this morning, the day was predestined to go only downhill from there, but you still had hope that your job would lighten up your mood slightly. Well, it didn't, and now, as you drove back home, you could only think about falling asleep as quick as possible to finally end the day.
Kicking of your shoes while unlocking the door, you called out a short "I'm back-" before making your way towards the kitchen, ready to prepare yourself some tea.
Not even five seconds later, Ville's head peeked through the kitchen door, a careless smile plastered across his face. As he walked up to you, a quiet "missed you" left his lips as he hugged you from behind while you were waiting for the water to boil.
You hissed his name as his arms found their way around your waist, since you hadn't fully recovered from your glorious fall earlier this morning, which had left you with a deep blue mark right above your hip.
Concern crept his way into his youce as he looked at you confused. "You alright?"
"Slipped this morning and landed flat on my ass.", you shortly muttered, not really in the mood for talking.
To yous displeasure, Ville only chuckled, placing a kiss on your temple while gently massaging your back. "Aww, my poor darling. Had a rough day?"
You sighed and nodded. "This close to quitting my job right now." You held out your index and thumb, moving them closer and closer together, till there were just millimeters keeping the two from touching. Were you being overly dramatic? Yes, but that didn't even cross your mind at that moment. All you knew was that you will most definitely not hold back your tounge next time should your godawful coworker cross your path again.
"Rakas-" He whispered into the crook of your neck. "How about you go lay down on the couch while I finish up your tea, mh?"
You turned around in his grasp, now facing him. He could really be a brat sometimes, but he certainly knew when you were stressed and needed your sweet boyfriend to calm you down.
"You sure?" You asked, a smile now slowly reappearing on your lips. He nodded, to which you responded with a quiet 'thank you' and a quick kiss to his cheek.
Another exhausted sigh left your lips as you laid down on the couch in Ville's apartement. a warm feeling spread through your whole body while you cuddled into some random blankets as you slowly drifted off to sleep, Ville's deep voice echoing through the kitchen as it deliberately fadet into background noise.
When you awoke from your dreamless sleep, the first thing you noticed when you opened your eyes was a grey tea cup placed on the coffee table. You must have been asleep for quite a while, since the sun outside had now completely settled, leaving the apartement only illuminated by the dim light odf the living room lamp.
Just as you wanted to get up and look for Ville, you noticed the arm that was tightly wrapped around you and a faded groan from behind you at you failed attempt to escape. Having a hard time loosening his grip on you, you carefully turned around in his arms, now facing him.
His beautiful green eyes were closed, his breath shallow and even. Seeing him so relaxed almost felt unreal, since his features had almost always a stern expression, reminding you just again how precious he looked while sleeping.
Not wanting to wake him, you decided to just close your eyes again and rest till the sun of the next day would wake both of you up again.

Please, please start sending in requests and I’ll get to them as soon as I can! Haerin & Hyein’s are really short because I ran out of ideas lol. (but I do have exams for the next 2 weeks so give me some time)
NewJeans x 6thMember!Reader
Spring w/NewJeans
Spring symbolizes new beginnings, it reawakens the world and is perfect for new memories with your love.
Minji
Although it’s not her favorite season, it’s only one away from it, summer. It’s the perfect weather to go on long walks or bike rides with you. She would definitely plan the cutest dates for you two. If you so much as mentioned something earlier, she would try her best to make it happen. One time you sent her a funny tiktok of a bird running into a kite. And the next date she took you on, you guys flew kites.
However, what spring is actually perfect for is, is a picnic for the two of you. On the first day of spring, Minji plans a picnic for the two of you. This date though, you insist on helping her with. It would be way too much for her plan AND make all the food you argue. After some back and forth, she reluctantly lets you help her make sandwiches for the two of you while she cuts up some fruit. You finish in record time, with only Hyein coming in and stealing a sandwich.
The date ends up being perfect, the weather is beautiful, the food is delicious and the company is the best. You’ve never been more happy in your whole life, then you were right now, breaking in spring with Minji.
Hanni
Spring with Hanni would be interesting to say the least. She does like the season, all the sunshine is perfect, however she doesn’t like how hot and unbearable it gets outside at times. Would still love the season if you did though, she loves seeing you happy.
Since she knows how to cook, she will be making you and the other members Vietnamese spring rolls. And they are definitely the best thing you’ll ever eat in your life. It instantly becomes a core memory for you, just eating a delicious lunch made by her with the group.
You two would definitely still be spending a lot of time indoors, however you guys would definitely open windows to let in the natural sunlight. Just reading together or any mundane task, is more fun with sunlight and you cannot get over how good she looks when bathed in it. She whines a little when you keep on staring at her, but you just can’t help it, she’s so pretty.
Danielle
It’s both of your favorite season! That means, you guys spending every free moment you have together, doing something outside. Picnics quickly become an every weekend tradition, sometime with the other members, other times just you two. If it is you two, then you’ll usually surprise her with sunflowers, since they’re in bloom now!
Every day that the sun is out, you guys end up going on a walk outside, holding hands of course. The weather is just so perfect, along with the company of course. You guys would talk about future plans and frustrations you two may have about work. Sometimes, you guys even go to the pool together, if you have enough free time. She loves swimming after all, if you don’t know how to, she’d definitely teach you. However after you learned or if you already knew she would definitely race you in the pool.
For her birthday though, you guys would definitely go to an amusement park and ride every single ride together. The members would complain about having the third wheel the two of you. But you two know it’s all in good fun.
Haerin
Long walks while listening to music she found and holding hands is a must during this season for you two. Would definitely want to know your opinion on each song to and if you don’t tell her your honest opinion, she’ll know and pout until you tell her the truth. Would probably take advantage of the Easter chocolate on sale during this time.
On your walks you guys would probably stop at a local park and play on the playground like little kids. You would definitely take pictures of how cute she looks, it’s fun feeling like a little kid again amidst how crazy your lives can get at times. This would also possibly inspire a song written by you two.
Hyein
Bike rides are a must for you two, it’s just nice to see the scenery this time of year. You two would definitely eat and make a lot of strawberry dishes. You just love spending time during spring with Hyein, you never feel more alive than when you’re with her.

I see @eponymous-rose doing these sometimes and I've always thought it was so much fun, so here's a Day in the Life of a clinical Associate Professor™. For reference, I've been seeing patients & teaching at my current university since finishing my residency almost a decade (!!!!!) ago.
9:30 - 10:00 - Precious precious office hours, spent answering emails from students, colleagues, and a guest speaker from a national organization I'm trying to coordinate an event for in two weeks. Everything's lined up except the venue (all our regular lecture halls are booked), and of course we discover this just outside his window to refund his airline tickets. Rats.
10:00 - 12:00 - Clinical lab! I'm coursemaster for two complex lecture/lab courses in the spring (protip: never let admin do this to you), so right now I spend most of my week in the classroom. Friday AMs are my advanced procedures lab, & today the students are doing intradermal and subcutaneous injections of the forearm and eyelid. This course can be really scary for them, so I go to a lot of effort to get them mentally and emotionally prepped, practicing approach and needle manipulation, etc. All of them do wonderfully, and even after cleanup and taking the biohazard bag down to disposal, I'm out on time.
12:00-1:00 - Guest faculty candidate lecture! Our full-time faculty has been down by about five people for a few years, and we also have three more of our remaining full-timers out on medical leave until late February, so we are hurting for help. This applicant gives a phenomenal talk on diversity and optometric scope across the several continents she's taught in over the last twenty years. It's an extraordinary talk and I honestly learn more geography than I expected.
1:00 - 2:30 - Lecture! Advanced procedures lecture to the third-year class, usually the only barrier between them and their weekend. I really like today's lecture and it goes well, and even the chronic dozers in the side seats stay awake.
2:30 - 2:45 - Intended to be an interview/tour with the faculty applicant, except here comes the first wrench. Just as she gets to my office, the colleague delivering the speaker lets me know she's having tech trouble with her Zoom-in guest lecturer and also there's a very upset student in the hall outside the classroom. I go down with her right away; student is okay, just got some very bad news, and when I'm sure they're settled with their friends & support system I help the colleague with the tech.
2:45-3:10 - Tour finally happens! The students we encounter are chipper and cheerful (not always the case in practical season!).
3:10-4:00 - Meeting with my clinic coordinator to prep for next week's practicals. My other big course this semester caps with a high-stakes clinical entrance exam; in essence, the students must perform a complete, independent eye examination from start to finish, and they can't enter clinic with "real" patients until they pass. The setup & scheduling for this practical (which runs over three weeks) is probably the most complicated logistical nightmare of my year. However, my coordinator is amazing, and within the hour she has a detailed list of both her tasks and mine and will report back as each prep step is done.
4:00-5:00 - Desperately trying to finish this schedule, answer my most urgent calls from patients, and finish some time-sensitive grading. Another colleague comes by and asks what I thought of the guest speaker, and when I say I didn't get much time in my interview with her, she suggests I tag along to the faculty dinner with her tonight at 5:45. A fantastic idea! I'll just wear what I have on, yeah?
The faculty dinner is at a five-star steakhouse. I'm wearing scrubs and a pullover.
It's okay, I have time to make it home and change! I can make it!
5:15 - I accidentally overwrite 90% of my completed schedule with an old, mostly blank copy, and don't realize it until after saving multiple times (I was on a different tab in the spreadsheet).
5:15 - 5:45 - Meticulously recreate the schedule as quickly as I can. I've already emailed out some assignments to the students, so I can't start over from scratch (which would have honestly been faster). Finally finish & send out the details to needed parties.
5:45 - 6:35 - race home, feed the dog, change into slacks and my favorite blazer, race out to the steakhouse.
6:35 - 8:30 - I arrive just before the salads come out, hallelujah! I have the best steak I've ever eaten in my life, as well as have a fantastic conversation with the candidate and the other faculty. The time honestly flies by, and when I realize what time it is I'm feeling very guilty about leaving the dog. Still, I'm sure she'll be a fantastic fit for the program, and it's honestly a relief to have my questions about some of her experience answered.
8:50 - home at last, at last!
8:51 - I discover my fly has been unzipped all night.
8:52 - 9:00 - I indulge in paroxysms of shame until I rationalize that the restaurant was incredibly dim, I was sitting the whole time, and my undies are also black. It's fine. It's fine. It's fine.
9:00 - now - hot bath, a book of poetry, and a double bourbon. After today, I feel like I've earned it.

10 minute pehle ke news ki tea spill karoooooo
Grab your seatbelts because this is a wild and offensive ride.
Context: my friend had a birthday today, let's call her Butterfly. Butterfly is Moon boy's bestie. Me and K (my bestie) became friends with Moon Boy ages ago but we befriended Butterfly only recently during our exams.
Aaj Butterfly ki birthday mein, body shaming girl put up a story wishing her which read,"Happy birthday [Moon Boy] ki bestie." I was furious at her since like last season and even previous episode. Aaj ka precap isme hi aa gaya tha.
Tea:
So me and Moon Boy went to get Butterfly a cake for her birthday to celebrate in college without telling anyone but K. We got the cake and came back, and Body Shaming girl, let's call her Chintu (yes it's her nickname idek why), her group was lowkey offended that we didn't involve them in Butterfly's birthday plan
Moon Boy, that bloody diplomat, knew. He lured them all in with the cake cutting promise and everyone gathered around Butterfly, whom I had not allowed to peek at the cake. We had forgotten to get matchsticks so he went off to find matchsticks to light candles. Meanwhile...
Another girl, whom I did like until she turned into an ass licker, started fiddling with the cake. Bringing it out of box, trying to rip open the box to see the cake. I was politely trying to get her to stop until she tried to open the box. I opened the box instead and then closed it instantly and put it out of her reach. I told her to stop hovering and sit down.
Seeing her ass licker get shoved aside, Chintu was mad. But she was about to be madder.
I'm name dropping this one because i detest him the most. MOST. Bhavya, this lanky oversmart buy with a chomu hairstyle and round glasses, dared to be oversmart.
One thing that everyone should know about me is that I'm fiercely defensive of each of my friends. I treasure them beyond reason. Even if they're new friends.
Bhavya said, and i quote,"Burn Butterfly and use her to light the candles."
I said,"Maybe we should use you, since Teri already jal Rahi hai."
He went bitter and replied,"Jal nahi Rahi hai thik hai? Mere time to cake bhi nhi thi."
"should have had better friends," i said, which must have also offended Chintu.
Bhavya went even more bitter and said,"Mere dost jo the vo tere aaj ke dost hi the. Tere Jo itne saare ladke dost hai na. Vohi." (Lies. I'm acquainted with some boys because I'm a nice person and like to maintain connections. The only male friend i have is Moon Boy.)
I knew what he was implying but Butterfly was already shaking her head. I laughed,"Their behaviour isn't my responsibility."
He was about to say something and Butterfly said to not do this on her birthday. I laughed and said okay, I won't. Butterfly looked at me gratefully and Moon Boy returned till then. He noticed the harsh environment but said nothing and i continued pretending that I didn't want to kill anyone.
Me and Moon Boy took over, shifted benches and made Butterfly sit down, got her the cake(she loved it btw), lit up the candle. Chintu and her ass licker started pretending to care and warning how one shouldn't keep fire near them and blah blah blah. Whilst standing right behind me. I didn't say anything.
As we sang happy birthday, Bhavya sang "Happy birthday [Butterfly] aaj tu mar jayegi". I wanted to hit him but i didnt. By the look on his face, Moon Boy knew my smile wasn't entirely genuine after we finished the birthday song. I pushed him off to be the first one to eat the cake since he's the closest in relation to her. I was clicking pictures with his phone and i heard them criticise even that right behind my back. (Sue me, idk how to operate iphones instantly).
Chintu said,"Maine bola tha ki haath mein rakh ke candle mat jao but sunte nhi hai na kuch log." Bhavya asked who and she replied that she'll tell later. (Can you BE anymore obvious???)
We ended up having fun. I sent off K after me and later I went myself to eat the cake. Took a tiny bite because I don't like sweets too much, and fed Butterfly a wafer chocolate roll. She ate half of it and I fed the rest half to K and Moon Boy respectively. I heard them speak about that as well.
I sat down on a free bench, since I had period cramps, and the sheer joy of being around people and celebrating on Butterfly made me keep my words quiet and it was enough to make me smile widely.
(They did not like that. Duhhhhhhhhhh)
After this, me and Butterfly and K discussed this whole interaction whilst Moon Boy, the darling diplomat, went around fulfilling his volunteer duty and social media manager duty by clicking photos and videos.
The university secretary of the abvp, he came near us to find Moon Boy but he couldn't so I kept him in conversation for almost an hour. Moon Boy returned, listened to the conversation and was tiredly sitting quietly. I and K went to fetch our respective buckles and water bottles from our vehicles and we stayed there talking to some acquaintances. Butterfly came with us too.
I spied Moon Boy drifting in the place and went to him but he had been roped in with Chintu's group so I told him where he'll find me and left, ignoring the rest of them.
Ting ting tadinggggggggg agla update, next kalesh ke baad🫶🏽 (also no one needs to go anon to ask for such tea my loves, I'm happy to provide always 🫶🏽)

Rules to Break
A/N: not much to say about this, just a super fluff first-impression one shot.
—————————————————
He noticed her the first time she came in, but only because she was holding a copy of his favourite book. She’d lain it on the countertop as she squinted up at the menu and asked him if they did an iced Americano.
“We do,” he wanted to ask her about the book but when she meets his eye he’s suddenly nervous. He could tell she was in a rush, after working as a barista for nearly two years Harry could tell that when a customer looked past you even when they looked directly at you…it was not time to engage in small talk. “Is that all?”
“Uhm yes,” she bites her lip and glances at her phone. “Will that be long?”
He was right, “I’ll get started on it now for you.” Harry’s coworker shoots him a look as she moves aside from the espresso machine. He was supposed to be on cash strictly. But Americanos were easy and there were only two people in line.
“Pretty privilege,” she mutters. She was always going on about how life was easier for pretty people. Harry didn’t disagree, but also thought she benefitted from the same thing. He thought it was smarter not to say anything lest she bite his head off though.
“Here you are,” Harry pushes the drink at the pickup counter. She looks up from her phone, book tucked under her arm.
“Oh! That was quick. Thank you,” she smiles at him and this time she looks at him. Why did she make him so damn nervous?
Harry saw her a few times a week since then, usually with a friend but there were some times by herself in the far corner of the cafe. Her headphones on and typing away furiously at a laptop.
He never denied he was a romanticist, he fell in love easily and always. It never stuck of course, he was in love with the idea in his head, and it was easy when you worked in a cafe that was a revolving door for interesting people carrying small pieces of their lives on show while he made their drinks or took their orders.
The danger came from regulars; he had a rule not to romanticize regulars. But it was a rule he had to break when it came to her.
Today, she orders her usual and finds the only available seat near the sink. It was exam season so the cafe was mostly filled with students. Which meant it was too busy for Harry to keep an eye on her, him and his two colleagues work around each other as they pump out drink after drink.
3 hours later, Harry takes his 15 minute break. She’s still at her table, a friend had joined her. They talk animatedly over whatever’s on screen.
While her friend scans the screen, she sits silently. Then her eyes flit up and find Harry’s staring. Shit. He looks down at the water in his hand, turns awkwardly, and shuffles to the break room. It felt like she’d broken the fourth wall…it was uncomfortable as Harry remembers everything he knew about her was her coffee order, a shared book interest, and fantasy. He had to stop doing this.
Harry avoids her general area as he finishes his shift. He takes lunch in the break room, and focuses on the customer in front of him. One after the other.
Close to the end of his shift he risks a glance that way, and he’s surprised to still see her there. She must have ordered something when he was on his break because a second drink and half-eaten sandwich sits on her table.
The woman herself is staring into space, Harry thinks she’s day dreaming but she could be deep in thought. Maybe there was no difference. She snaps out of her thoughts and glances back at her screen. She must have noticed Harry though because she looks back up to him. This time she smiles. Harry nods and turns back to pouring the espresso in front of him.
Why did he nod? Was that supposed to be cool? What the fuck?
This was getting ridiculous. It’s been over a month of romanticizing someone just because she came in with a book. For all he knew she was holding it for a friend. He had to get over this—this was why he had that rule. He could obsess over someone he’d made up in his head for too long if he saw them too often. He had to stop.
“Can I uhm, get you a refill?” Harry decides to approach her table. “Seems like you could use one?”
“Oh,” her voice is soft, surprised when he appears at her table. “As much as I’d love that, I think I’ve had enough coffee for today.”
“Oh,” well that didn’t go how he expected. This was the other part about Harry’s fantasies—the reality always let him down. “Okay.”
“Okay,” she laughs. “Sorry have I been here too long? Are you subtly kicking me out?”
“No!” Harry realizes she’s smiling about it a beat too late. God he was normally not this awkward. He forced a laugh. “You have been here for some time, I thought you could use a refill. What are you working on?”
“Oh this,” she tilts her screen down lower. Government secrets.”
Harry waits a moment, unsure if her deadpan was really good or she was joking. She cracks a smile though and he laughs.
“You’re quite a serious one then,” she opens her screen back up.
“I’m…I’m really not. I’m mostly an idiot, ask my colleagues.” Harry glances back at the other side of the countertop and risks sitting in the seat opposite this woman. “To be honest I think I’m just a bit nervous.”
“Nervous?!”
“You’re intimidating!”
“Me!? Oh my god nobody has ever called me intimidating!”
“Nobody’s ever called me serious!” Harry laughs.
“I guess we don’t know each other at all,” she shakes her head with a laugh. “Intimidating.”
“You come in here regularly and just type away at your laptop all seriously. Your government secrets intrigue me.”
“My government secrets huh?” She smirks and Harry blushes.
“Yeah,” Harry pushes on. “Obviously. What else.”
“So is it true about regulars, do baristas actually remember our drinks?”
“Yeah,” Harry’s relieved at the switch in subject. “Iced Americano, sometimes with an almond croissant.”
“Hey that’s me,” she grins. “I’m actually writing a…well it’s supposed to be a novel. Right now it’s a fucking mess.”
“That’s what my mum calls me,” Harry jokes. “But I’m sure your work is great.”
“Nah not yet,” she leans forward on the table. “Does your mum actually?”
“She’s said it once, last Christmas.” Harry wasn’t sure if this was oversharing but she nods for him to continue. “I graduated with all these distinctions and now I’m just working at a coffee shop. I think she’s worried I’m not going to do anything with my life.”
“It’s not all cracked up to be,” she rests her head on her hand. “I had a job right out of uni, hated my life for over a year before I just said fuck it and quit. I live at home again, like I’m a bloody teenager. But…I think I’m happier.”
“I’ll put you on a call with my mum, say that exact same thing to her. Please?”
The pair laugh out loud, any awkwardness from before completely gone.
“It’s like I’m so burnt out from studying and never getting a break. I don’t want one part of my life to just rollover into the next.”
“Yeah!” she agrees.
“And, she doesn’t think it’s a real job, but I model on the side. I actually like doing it with this job so-“
“Of course you do!”
“What?” Harry watches her lean back in her chair and cross her arms.
“I should’ve know you model.”
“You should’ve?” He can’t help but grin.
“Yeah,” she looks like she’s putting the pieces together about Harry. “Your government secrets no long intrigues me, I know what you use them for.”
The unexpected joke makes Harry laugh, a bit too loud. His team lead calls out his name and reminds him his break is about done.
“Sorry,” she whispers to him. “Didn’t mean to get you into trouble.”
“It’s alright.” Harry chuckles. “I’m off in a half hour anyway, I haven’t got much work to go back to.”
“Oh,” she nods stiffly. “Alright.”
“Okay,” Harry gets up. “I’ll see you around Iced Americano.”
“That’s an awful nickname.”
Harry just shrugs and gets back to work, which is mostly cleaning up at this point. He realizes he should have asked if she had plans, they could grab a bite to eat since he knows she’s been here most of the day. Maybe he should ask now.
Harry peeks over the sink but her seat is empty and everything is gone from the table. He glances around the room but she had left. Disappointed. He felt a bit let down.
On the other hand, he realizes that this was the first time someone in his head didn’t let him down. She was bright, and funny, and really nice to him even though he cringed at how creepy he’d been. The disappointment stabs at him again. Oh well. There was always next time.
Once his shift finishes, and he changes out of the T-shirt that smelled like burnt coffee beans, Harry says his goodbyes and leaves. He turns to the right where the bus stop is but pauses when he spots a familiar figure on the bench.
“I was going to go home. But then I decided I would wait out your shift. And then it felt weird to go back inside so…”
“Aren’t you cold?” It was a brisk December evening.
“Fuck yes,” she hops up and walks over to Harry. “D’you want to grab a bite?”
“I was going to ask you the same thing,” he couldn’t hide the relief in his voice. She had stayed.
“I know a good spot but it’s about 20 minutes walk?”
“I’m alright, I thought you were cold?”
“Not with company,” she threads her arm through his and they laugh at her cheesy response.
“It’s the company you make along the way,” Harry joins in.
“Exactly!”
They head in her direction and it occurs to Harry. “I don’t even know my company’s name.”
“Oh my god,” she laughs and sticks her free hand out to Harry as they continue walking. “I’m Y/N!”
“Nice to meet you, I’m Harry.” he shakes her hand and they laugh again at how weird they’re being.
“I know,” she smiles up at him. “Your name tag.”
“So I’m the only one who’s been in the dark.”
“‘Fraid so. Remember when you thought I was intimidating?”
“And you thought I was serious,” Harry laughs. She was an open book and he was always cracking jokes. How quickly they went from strangers to something else.
“We were naive then..but I’m still interested in this modelling you do. What’s it for?”

Mambo - Prove It To You - Strictly NRC Dancing
Author's Notes: First Sebek fic (woo!) I actually really adore Sebek in a weird sort of way, but writing him was certainly a new experience! Especially since I was writing the Mambo.... Writing dancing is getting easier and easier though. Makes me realize how far into this series I've gotten. The dance in this fic was Heavily inspired by Heidi and Benji’s Mambo to “Black mambo” by Angel and the Mambokats on So You Think You Can Dance Season 2 Episode 18. Just like the rest of this AU/series the reader is female for this fic. I hope you enjoy!
If you would like to read more this AU/series, the fics can be found here: Strictly NRC Dancing AU Master-List.
Type: Dance AU/ female reader/ fluff/ can probably be taken as flirtatious
Word Count: 1058
“Stop! Stop! Did you learn nothing from your lessons, pup?” I cringed in sympathy as Crewel proceeded to lay into Sebek yet again.
“This is a sultry, flirtatious dance. You need lots of hip action, and-”
“BUT IT MAKES NO SENSE!” This time I covered my ears and prayed for this particular exam to be over just a little bit faster.
Sebek was beyond frustrated at this point, and it was, to a degree, understandable. He knew the foot motions and the mechanics of the mambo. But the general emotion of the dance was beyond him.
Crewel eyed the first year with no small amount of annoyance as Sebek continued on his tirade, not helping his situation at all by having interrupted our professor. “The dances of the Valley of Thorns have no such need for such… Frippery! Why does thi-”
“The mambo is not a dance of the Valley of Thorns, though, is it?” There was a certain venom to Crewel’s words that came from a man who had long lost patience with his current student as he all but prowled towards us.
“The mambo IS the dance you are being graded on in approximately 40 minutes, though! Now, I suggest you watch me and the Prefect go through your choreography one more time and pay attention!”
As I stepped quickly around the room with Crewel, letting the man spin me at high speeds before pausing for brief periods of sashaying place with our foreheads pressed together that featured considerable amounts of eye contact, I couldn’t help but feel kind of bad for the young man who watched us closely. Not to say that I wasn’t frustrated myself, but… To a degree, I understood Sebek’s struggles.
The mambo was a fun dance that was both sensual and flirty. Two things that tended to clash with Sebek of the twenty-something missives that must be written before he was willing to sit with a person’s width between him and the object of his affections.
The fact that he’d received the mambo, of all dances, for his class was beyond unlucky. In fact, it was practically unfair.
Judging from what I’d seen of his dancing thus far during our practice, Sebek wasn’t actually a bad dancer. He just wasn’t a flirty one, which was, unfortunately for him, necessary for this dance.
The proof of his skills was the choreography that Crewel had put together for us. Our performance dance was beyond difficult and required almost perfect partner synergy. And Sebek was doing admirably…. He just wasn’t terribly well-suited for Latin dancing.
“There. You see? All you need to do is add the right emotion to your dance, and you will be ready. Now, again, from the top.” With only those instructions, Crewel stepped away. Leaving me waiting for Sebek, who approached with renewed vigor.
And yet, the very second he took my hand, I knew there was no way this was going to be correct. The proper steps would be there, but none of the attitude would be.
So I leaned forward, causing Sebek’s eyebrows to lift questioningly, as my brain was already working hard to figure out exactly what I could say to get him to do what he needed to.
I did feel a tiny bit guilty as I smiled at him oh-so-sweetly, “Why don’t you ask Silver for some help after we finish up here? There will be some time between then and our performance, so he should be able to give you some pointers.”
Annnnd Boom.
The immediate shock and irritation that appeared in Sebek’s strange-looking eyes told me exactly what I needed to know. He’d taken the bait.
Bait, that I had not wanted to have to use, especially since I didn’t actually know if Silver would be any better at the mambo than Sebek.
But, with any luck, this would get Sebek through this class. Hopefully with a passing grade.
“YOU THINK SILVER CAN DO BETTER THAN I?!” I flinched at his overly loud voice, and, as if he realized how deafening he’d just been, his voice was quieter as he continued, “I’ll have you know that I was the best dancer in my class back at the Valley of Thorns. While Master Lilia may have taught Silver well, I doubt that Silver would be anywhere near my level of prowess.”
My eyes darted over to where Crewel stood with raised eyebrows; mercifully, he wasn’t interjecting. Perhaps he was willing to leave this up to me.
“I just thought since you seem unable to get the right emotion for the dance that Silver might-”
“I’LL SHOW YOU HUMAN!” In an almost uncharacteristic move, Sebek’s voice lowered till he was almost whispering as he dipped his head down to mine. A challenge shined in his eyes as he continued, “I do not need him to show me how to dance, and I’ll prove it to you right here and now.”
I would have to apologize to both Silver and Sebek after this was all said and done. But right now, all that mattered was getting this awkward teenage boy through this dance and past this class.
For the sake of both him and my eardrums.
So I made the final push, stretching up with a slight smirk on my lips as I allowed my expression to reflect his challenge right back at him, “Then I suggest you do just that, Sebek. Because I honestly don’t think you can.”
Despite our close proximity, the usually easily scandalized young man outright smirked down at me, not backing away in the slightest, “Have it your way, human.”
Still tired, but now rather amused, Crewel called out, “If you two are quite ready…?”
My eyes stayed on Sebek, who refused to back down even as he stepped backward, keeping his eyes on mine as he held my hand up in between the two of us.
I grinned despite myself as I called out in response to our instructor and kept my eyes on the young man in front of me who was holding my hand as if there were nothing there, “More than ready!”
“I certainly hope you are, human.” Sebek’s gloating tone hadn’t lessened in the slightest, even as the upbeat and almost raucous beat started up from where Crewel had hit play on the radio, “Let’s dance.”

Dance Lesson
Part1, 2
Thrawxf!reader
Between dancing, stealing uniforms and your heart, your head gets fuzzy.
“I was caught up tutoring Shah-tezh on basic theory. I didn't have time to find a date for the Gala!."
"Fair enough. Hopefully it was worth it." Karyn replies.
You shrug your shoulders, you don't care at the moment, you are too busy laying on the grass enjoying the sun. With your limbs spread like a starfish you let the pleasant warmth spread on your skin while a soft wind keeps blowing a lock of hair through your face. You don't mind, at this instant you were really at peace.
"Do you have anyone in mind? Cosblo maybe?" She grins at you.
You burst out laughing together, hugging your ribs. You try your best to speak coherently.
"I can see his face! He would be so disgusted!"
Karyn joins you laying on the grass, her body shaked by her laughter. You both stay like that, under the sun's rays, calming down slowly and enjoying the simple company.
"So, do you have someone in mind or not?" She asks quietly after a moment of silence.
"No, I didn’t actually think that much about it. I’ll just pop up at the Gala alone and run off with their best bottles, what do you think?"
"Sounds good, but if Deenlark caught you, you would be in big trouble!"
"Blast Deenlark! I will have already graduated by then anyway, he won't be able to do much."
You let a moment pass, appreciating the song of a bird near you. It is a gentle melody but one of its last. Birds don't live long on Coruscant. They are constantly imported to the city planet to please the wealthy, but can’t survive in the urban environment.
"And you?" You ask.
"Hey, I still have two years before this Ball, don't pressure me with that now!" She responds playfully.
"Come on. Don't you have any targets? Nobody you wish you could ask in secret?"
She looks at you from the corner of her eyes before capitulating.
"Alright, alright. I am thinking about asking Tiabri's out."
You search in your memory Tiabri's face, you are not the best when it comes to remembering people.
"Tiabri, Tiabri, Tiabri… Long curly black hair and green eyes? The one with a silvery tattoo?"
"Yes, that's her." She answers lazily, getting more and more sleepy under the sun. It doesn't stop you from harassing her with questions.
"When will you ask? How?"
"First off, I can hear your smile with my eyes closed, stop it. And second, I don't know. I’ll see when the moment comes."
"Okay, but don't take too long. You can’t be the only one with your eyes on her"
"Says the one without a date?"
You nudge her.
"Oh shut up, you."
"Hey, J.C! Karyn!"
Shielding your eyes with your hand, you turn toward the voice and see Eli meeting you with a smile, making the grass crack under his feet.
"What are you both doing here?"
"Enjoying the sun, come sit."
Eli lets himself down to the ground beside you and sighs with contentment.
"Why have you never told me about this spot? It must be the greatest thing in this Academy."
"Because we didn’t want you here, but now that you've found it we’re screwed." You playfully whisper.
"(Y/n), language." Karyn berates you.
"Now we are exposed?"
"Better. Where is the other guy? Thram?”
“Thra-wn.” Eli corrects. ”He’s talking with Deenlark”
“He’s talking or he’s talking?”
“He’s arguing with Deenlark.”
“Oh for Maker’s sake…”
“Where did you come from?" Ask Karyn.
"I just came back from the race track, the team accepted me as a substitute after my essays."
"See? I told you they would say yes,Jakeeb is a fair guy, he wouldn’t say no to someone who wanted to join the team.”
“In fact I will mostly help as a technician but he said I could participate in the Senior Race at the end of the year.”
It’s the final race of the season and the one concluding the curriculum of the seniors students just before the final exam of simulation.
“And the ball to finish the year.” you added.
“The what?”
“The ball!” you respond in unison.
He opens his eyes and turns towards you with an incredulous expression.
“Beg you pardon?”
__________________________________
“One, two, three... One, two, three... One, tw- Wrong foot!” You drop Thrawn’s hand and cut the music “Let’s take a break.”
You go over your towel and rub the sweat off your face while the chiss with a frustrated expression go to his bottle, next to him Eli lays against the wall with a defeated look on his face. Clearly neither him nor Thrawn are pleased to be here.
“Eli, you’re next.”
“Okay, but can you tell us again why we have to sweat?”
“The Gala is in less than three months.”
“Isn’t it just a stupid dance?”
“I wish it was. It would be easier, but I’m not working your butt off for just some dance.” You take your bottle and go sit with them. “It’s the Academy Ball, it’s trickier than that.”
“We would show more enthusiasm if we knew what it entails,” argues Thrawn.
You take a sip looking at them, wondering how to put it simply. You’re not informed about everything either.
“To be brief, did you notice how many of the students are from the elite? It’s the new way the Gotha have to introduce its childs to the high Society.”
“Didn’t the Empire wipe them off to instate a new social order?” Thawn wonders, surprised.
“Well it did, but some old, old families of the Republic worked with the Chancelier Palpatine to keep their privileges when he would be emperor. Now the upstarts and the new bourgeoisie had joined them and adopted the old ways of the former Nobility. So they use the ball as a means to introduce their prized children as adults to the Society.”
“And put them in contact with the rest of the political and military scene, I see,” completes Thrawn.
“Of course, as aliens and outer-rim dwellers we don’t have to live up to those high expectations but we still need to honor and not embarrass the military corps in front of the wealthy. So you really need to catch up with those dance moves!”
“Why isn't there any rehearsal with the class?” Eli grumbles.
“We had them at the start of the year, with the taking of measurements of uniforms”
“There is specific uniforms?”
“Of course, they don’t want to present their future new officers with some cheap tuxedos. They’re unique costumes. All the students that could afford it got one. I would have gotten one for myself if Karyn hadn’t already promised me to lend me a dress from her family.”
“Your friendship is strong,” notes Thrawn.
“I stood up for her in front of a stubborn professor when she arrived two years ago.”
“I see, so she bears a sentiment of gratitude towards you since then.”
“Don’t know, she had plenty of occasions to repay me. We just connect well.”
“And what about the students that cannot afford a tailored costume?”
You put your hands behind you and roll your head to ease the muscles of your back.
“Not everyone takes them back so we take old ones that we touch-up, you should ask for one at the stewardship.”
“No.” Thrawn responds, holding his chin. “This will not be an option.”
“Why not?” Eli queries doubtfully.
“I am afraid this opportunity closed itself with my last argument with Deenlark not long ago. He swore he would try his best to get in my way to the navy command chain.”
Eli looks at him mortified, Thrawn has no equal when it comes to running into problems but it seems he surpassed himself this time.
“What did you do?” You ask.
“I merely pointed out alternative and more effective methods of education.”
“Did you?”
Sometimes you wonder if Deenlark wouldn't outright refuse Thrawn to graduate to make him pay for his insolence. He often flirts with the line.
“I bet none of you have the money for a private tailor, so that leaves you with…”
“Robbing one.” Thrawn completes.
You choke on your water.
“Hey, calm down! Isn’t there a solution less… radical?” Eli intervenes.
“You could borrow them,” you propose.
“Unfortunately, we are not popular enough students for that.”
“We could rent them?” Eli adds.
“As J.C said, they are unique costumes. No store would have them.”
“Maybe Karyn could lend us a costume?” Eli insists.
“We would run into the same problem, moreover she agreed to lend a dress to (y/n) who is a good friend of hers, none of us can say the same.”
Eli frowns, annoyed.
“You could just… not go?” you suggest.
“That is out of question for myself. This is evidently an important ritual for the navy. I cannot ignoreit. Moreover, it will get me in contact with the chain of commands as a whole, I can not let such an opportunity pass.”
His arguments are sound, but still… You both turn your head towards Eli.
“I want to go too.” He responds, pressed.
“Then it’s settled, we should soon think about a plan.”
“Hey! Don’t bring me into this!”
“As you wish” Thrawn speaks camly. “But with or without you we will find a way.”
You gave a long groan. You were going to regret this.
_______________________________________________________
“What do you mean Eli won’t come?” You ask.
It is still early in the evening and you just ended your daily session of Shah-tezh and revisions with Thrawn.
“He has practice with the team for the Senior race.” Thrawn answers unwavering, replacing the pawns in the box.
“Hmpf.”
You sulk during your walk to your room. You’re not worried for Eli, his dancing skills are good. He can afford to skip a few sessions, but it is not the same for Thrawn and you're worried about the idea of being alone with him. Who knows what lies behind those incandescent eyes.
You inhale and get ready for what comes next.
“Wrong foot again.” You lightly shake your head. “I don’t understand, you master it when you are without a partner but you lose it when we dance together…”
Thrawn steps back at a respectful distance.
“Maybe you should let me lead for once.”
“ I will when you know how to put one foot after the other, until then you lead nothing! Let’s try it again without music.”
You get back in position, providing enough distance so he can clearly see your feet.
“Let’s try it slow, everything starts with your left foot…”
You start once again, swiping across the floor at the measure of you counting.
“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two…”
It’s already been a month since you started teaching them. It has been an adventure if only for finding an empty room everyday, muscle soreness and all the time they stepped on your foot. With so little time you’re only teaching them the three most popular dances for those parties.. Eli was doing well enough, you had started helping him develop freestyle. Thrawn, however, was another entity. He’s doing remarkably in the solo exercises, but completely spoils it with a partner; too fast, too slow, off beat, zero synchronization. If only he could just follow the music you could follow him in return.
“One, two,thre- Ouch…”
You hold his shoulder while you prance to keep your balance and he holds your arm for support.
“I am truly sorry,” he says.
“I don’t doubt it, I just wished it didn’t happen as much,” you laugh it out. “I feel like you're not with me on this, like you're absolutely trying to take the lead.”
“I am trying my best but it has proven harder than expected.”
You put your foot back on the ground and think, what could prevent him from improving?
You won't say you fully understand him. His mind works in a different capacity than most anyone you'd ever met. He couldn't even look at a painting without finding a way to bring the art of war into it. Perhaps that was the solution.
“I think… You see your partner as an adversary rather than an ally.”
He raises an eyebrow.
“This is not combat, miss (y/l/n).”
“That’s exactly my point, you expect resistance where there is not. You should relax, go with the flow! Stop being so stern and serious all the time… I know!”
You put the music back on dropping the ballroom style for a more upbeat and joyous style and slide the volume up. You start prancing, swinging on site and encouraging him to do the same.
“Come on! Dance! Have some fun!” You dance and skip “It will unknot your muscles, you’re always so stiff!”
His demeanor doesn’t change but a flash passes through his eyes like you screamed profanity at him, something akin to a horrified expression twists his face for less than a second before getting back to it’s usual imperturbable look as you rotate around him in rhythm.
You take his hands and start swinging them.
“Come on, come on!”
Understanding he wouldn’t escape this, he starts shifting his weight on his feets reluctantly. You start freestyling, shaking your head with all your might to shake off all your stress and nerves from the last month, the exams, the ball, the simulation test, everything that came and is to come, throwing everything away.
At the corner of your eyes you see him expanding and caressing his limbs, more into a choreographed stretch than a real dance, but it will do.
You continue like this for five more minutes before switching back to the ballroom music.
“Let’s try this again! And dance with me this time, not against. ”
You hold your hands and you already notice a difference in the way he carries himself. You engage the first steps and he follows with ease like something just switched in his unconscious mind.
"Very good!"
You keep up the same dance until the end. There were still some errors and resistance on his part but the progress was amazing. These lessons will be less tedious from now on.
“Much better! Let’s take a break.” You turn down the sound and sit to do some stretches.
“Did you make up your mind?” Thawn asks.
“About what?”
“About helping us with the costume. The date is rapidly approaching.”
You hum out a sigh. “I’m not sure. This is not really my problem, no offense.”
He looks at you in silence with a cryptic expression
“I see, a pity.”
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“No nothing, what do you mean by “a pity”? You never make commentaries without some idea in mind, what are you thinking about?”
“I was just thinking how displeased you would be if your secret were spreaded.” _______________________________________________________________
I’m an idiot, you thought, leaning behind a wall to ensure nobody's there and Thrawn behind you to have your back.
You regret accepting to help and you regret this date was chosen. Although it is the best date possible, the Senior Race is monopolizing all the Academy and both teachers and students are at the circuit to support the team, it also means Eli won’t be there to help.
You feel uneasy, you didn’t talk much to Thrawn since you tried to kiss him the other day and you’re not sure how to act. He doesn’t seem to know about it and is acting like always, but your lips and cheeks burn at that single thought.
You press yourself against the wall when a loud group of students pass nearby. The storehouse is down the corridor at your left, and the connection point in front of you, you will need to traverse the junction when the cameras won’t look to the next blindspot.
“You know how to enter, miss (y/n)?” He demands with a low voice.
"That's why you asked for my help., And cut it out with the miss, you're stressing me out."
You turn your head towards the camera.
“Go!” You check left and right and cross the intersection “Stop!”
Hiding from the cam behind Thrawn you open your bag and take out a little console and start searching for the round plug.
“What is this?” He checks on you over his shoulder.
“This, my dear, is a technological marvel that you won’t find anywhere else.” You found it and plugged it right away. “It will take some seconds to connect.”
The screen lights up and you start playing with the buttons, searching for the correct command.
“C’mon, c’mon… Ha!” You click and select the correct files. “I’m hijacking the stream of the camera. There! We won’t appear on the tape anymore.”
He turns himself and kneels next to you to observe.
“It shouldn’t take too long from now on.” Series of numbers appears on the screen and your little machine starts searching.
“So what is it exactly?”
“At first it was sold to technicians to manage stocks, but some smart ones quickly found out how to overwrite the primary code and transform this little toy into a global master key. It works on everything because the code is the most simple one you can find, without any frills. After that the Republic destroyed them for public safety reasons.”
“Not all of them, I see.”
“Most of them.” You laugh. “My grandparents once robbed a bank with one of those!”
He raises an eyebrow.
“Or so I’ve been told.” You clear your throat. “There won’t be any cams inside but the droids can record through their eyes.”
“You sure seem to know a lot about the infrastructure, J.C.”
“No, not really.”
He looks at you with glaring eyes.
“Okay, I’ve done it once. But I only took chocolate bars for Karyn’s birthday.”
“It explains a lot.”
You can’t say if his tone is neutral or judgmental.
“It’s open.” You close your bag and stand up on your feet.
You check left and right once again and go down the corridor to see the storehouse door wide open, you gallop to it and close it behind Thrawn. Glaring across the room you both hide behind a metal box left here. Rising over it you observe the armada of droids handling the stocks, coming and going in a waltz rhythm by the hum of engines.
“And now what?”
“Now we must find the aisle and the correct box.” He answers mimicking a shush.
“I can find the aisle.”
He frowns at you incredulous.
“I told you this toy was a gem!” You look up at the screen. “Row seven.”
You put your console back inside your bag and spy the droids.
“How are we gonna cross the room?” you mumble.
“Haven’t you done this before?”
“There weren't as many droids! I think they took on the fact that someone came behind their back…”
He shakes his head and observes the whole room. His gaze travels from the door to the droids, to the shelves.
“We are going to climb the shelves.”
Without giving you any time to protest, he walks to the first shelf, careful to stay out of sight of the droids and climb the ladder rapidly to the top. You grumble and follow in his trail, avoiding the mechas by passing behind diverse structures and climbing as fast as you could. at the top you measure the area between the two shelves.
“You know we can't jump such a distance, right?”
“We are not going to need to jump, we will use the wall.”
You turn your head to observe the reliefs of the motifs on the walls, you could indeed grasp your hands around and put your feet on the rails but… The surface is incredibly slim. You look down to see the ground and you get dizzy.
“I’m not sure about that.”
“You can stay here if you are afraid.” Without hesitation he places his hands on the wall and starts crossing the gape.
You gulp, you’re not sure those costumes are worth the broken bones you risk with that method, but you’re not a coward and you won’t let that chiss believe it.
You wipe off your hands on your pants and follow him. The surface appears even slimmer now that your weight is on it and you feel like this is gonna be really difficult.
Don’t look down, don't look down, you repeat like a mantra while progressing along the rails. If only the shelves weren’t so spaced out! You grip the embossing with all your might as you start feeling sweat run down your back and your temperature rising. Are you really risking only a broken bone if you fell? Your arms and legs start trembling at the middle of the crossing, in front of you Thrawn already traverses and waiting for you at the next shelf. It looked almost easy when he did it, why is it so difficult?
You stop as even your fingers are shaking with cold sweat running down between them.
“Why did I accept to help you, again?” You whisper.
“Because I know about your family.” He responds deadpan.
Son of a bantha! You feel ire rising in your veins and a new energy spreads through your muscles, you quickly close the gap and seize the hand he extended for you while digging your nails through his sleeve. He doesn’t react and turns himself to the next gap. You forgot there was still five of them. Damn it! You have to take your breath, this is exhausting…
As you stop your eyes travel through the room and you notice a pallet truck moving around. You study its path and calculate roughly when it will come next to your shelf. You step back and sprint to the ledge, as it passes you jump and land almost too far. You crouch and wave to Thrawn as it goes by. It is way quicker than crossing the gap! You laugh a little, realizing the situation is both thrilling and terrifying. You hold yourself to avoid trembling on this precarious balance and you can jump back to the seven shelf. As you turn back you see Thrawn imitates you with another forklift and joins you back.
“Good thinking.”
Without missing a moment he goes down the ladder and starts searching for the right box. You follow him and you quickly find the box you need.
“How are we gonna open it?” You ask “It’s sealed.”
“With this.” He takes out his Lieutenant plaque and inserts it into a port.
“Won’t they find out who opened it?”
“It is a blank plaque, it should not be a problem.”
You hear a click and the lid trembles a little before stopping, you both take one side and slide it.
“I didn’t know a plaque could serve like that!” You say.
“I found it out recently as well.”
Now opened, you could see a myriad of uniforms tightly folded. Without any tag you will need to eyeball each of them to find the good ones.
“They should be ranged by size.” Thawn says.
You both start searching and it takes you around twenty five minutes to find both uniforms and ten more to fold and place back the one you don’t need. You calculate mentally how long the false video recording is and realize you have little time to go back. Once done you put them in your bag and close the box.
Thrawn looks at his chrono.
“We should hurry, the race will soon end.”
You go back back on top of the shelf and jump again on a forklift. Thrawn is right behind you. His landing sends a vibration through the metal, nearly forcing you off the platform. Before you topple off the edge, Thrawn seizes your arms, pulling you tight against him. You can feel the warmth of his hand on your skin and it reminds you again of this fateful kiss. You clear your throat, uneasy. The first shelf arrives quickly and you jump back to safety and go down rapidly. The way back is spent mostly avoiding the cameras and lonely persons wandering the halls.
As you reach Thrawn and Eli’s room you collapse on Thrawn’s bed without asking permission with a long and relieved sigh.
“Finally! Safety!”
Thrawn leans over to seize your bag and takes out the uniforms to try his one again. He plants himself in front of the mirror to appreciate it and finds where to do touch-ups. He really wore it elegantly, you think. At this moment, Eli enters with a cry of victory, so much it startles you.
“We ended up in second place! I got to race ‘till the last lap!” He proudly announces.
You jump off the bed and hug him tightly. “Congratulations!”
As you separate, you notice out of the corner of your eyes Thrawn silently observing both of you.
“How did it go for you?”
“We’ve found them both, you will have to try yours.”
“Quickly then, I have to join the team again after!”
You then take the opportunity to pack your stuff and go to the door.
“I’m gonna sleep a little. I will come celebrate with you later Eli!”
As soon as the door closed behind you, Eli turned to Thrawn.
“Did you really have to steal them?”
“Of course not. I lied to test J.C.’s aptitudes.”

i've continued to mainline borodin symphonies 1 & 2. idk they're just hitting right.
and the new pieces for the orchestra i'm in - very french this time round: debussy's fêtes: kinda spooky and ominous and also fluid in a fun way! lots of buildup that seems to resolve into nothingness. horn parts for this are pretty good, not too difficult but are definitely Heard. chabrier's españa: really bumpin horn parts. fun bouncy motifs. what's not to like.
pocasting-wise, i'm up to partizan 38. 10 episodes left!!! the home stretch!!!!! it's so good but things are definitely amping up in the end-of-fatt-season way.
i've also listened to my friend b's gotham tv show podcast 'jim gordon must die'. very good and funny. i laughed out loud at some of the episode 3 descriptions.
reading: i was stuck in Bad Airport Times this past saturday (flight delayed 3 hours, then sat for an hour on the tarmac, arrived at 10pm when i was originally supposed to arrive at like 630) so i blasted through all ~150k words of 'freefall' by Kunoichi21 and xoTsundoku. bog-standard mafia au, but with a fun little circus arts twist; fun background fengqing; i do not like that they made beefleaf wholesome. give me my toxic beefleaf god damn it. but otherwise it was a fun read, sappy romcom-style. the fic itself isn't quite done but it's in endgame. the author notes have peak fanfic culture energy of "hey guys! sorry i didn't update, i started nursing school and my dad died" bro .... ;___; goddamn. please take care of urselves
watching: we are almost done with kill la kill! last two eps!!! so tonight we're doing that and also watching last week's dunmeshi together.
friend and i finished comrade detective. incredible. no notes. so funny. we started 'endeavour' which is a detective morse prequel thing and goddd the british-isms, and also started serial experiments lain. i don't know what i was expecting but god it was not this. i literally thought this was a cute fun hacker mystery show in the energy of cowboy bebop. it is Not That. not even close. it's good though i'm enjoying it. currently staggering through life going uhhhhh like lain does in the first few eps.
playing: fallow. i am re-installing disco elysium on my computer though. ive been wondering if i should try to keep going on the save file from last year or if i should just start over because i barely got in there at all.
making: many things. pottery!! some good some not as good.
so this design came out SO nice but the underglaze is so gd streaky! i hate it !!! i don't think it's really fixable either, i tried the hairspray trick to put new solid glaze over top the inside so at least that would look less like shit but i could not get it to work. maybe sanding it down? idk. it's ugly. it was supposed to be a bright teal but the woman who runs the studio mixed the batch up wrong so it's like. a really drab gray and not in a fun or intentional way. idk.
some new bisque:
teacups came out! still mismatched but cute nonetheless! gonna do them in a sort of celadon-type color with white flowers to match the teapot that my SO has :)
i don't feel like adding more photos for these lol they're very boring. the pot for my mom came out fine i think. gonna go in with normal white glaze over top to paint in some trees or other botanical designs. i sponged the underglaze on so hopefully the final result won't be streaky. sponged red on my seder plate to hopefully accomplish the same thing. mugs came through the bisque with no issues but i didn't do anything fun with underglaze on one of them so no new pics of that, but the other i did this tree thing again:
i KNOW it'll be streaky as hell. i just know. so i'm considering how i want to do it. perhaps putting some slightly transparent green over the top of it all to meld it together? unsure.
some new stuff: made a citrus juicer, this was attempt number 2 and just barely got it to work, attempt 1 was a total disaster. also made another mug type object, hopefully it'll still be wet enough this weekend to slap a handle on.
two mugs with red clay, i really loved the lascaux mugs that jessica bartram put up for sale last year but i didnt snag one in time so i was like. fuck it. i will make my own. gonna let them dry to leather hard before going in with black underglaze.
i've been trying to draw again but. idk. i just feel very uninspired. i start drawing and it's like :| :| :|
eating: i was on my own food-wise for much of the last week because my roommate was babysitting for the rabbi, so i did not eat nearly as extravagantly as i normally do, LOL. i made a lo mein recipe that was kinda just a stir fry. this could have been my fault because i added a bunch of extra shit like bok choy and mushrooms. i also didn't use the correct type of noodle, and i didnt have oyster sauce so i used worcestershire, etc. many substitutions so it's probably not fair for me to say it was Just Fine. will have to try again at some later date actually following the recipe. herb and radish salad with feta and walnuts: delicious. 10/10. i tossed in some extra arugula and that was also good. and i made the tofu brussel sprouts tahini/hoisin sauce thing again because it's easy and tasty.
misc: visiting my grandma right now ...... entrenched in the ennui .............. spring break ........................
