Dew is abysmal when it comes to baking, he tries to leave baking to Mountain for the safety of everyone. Almost always has been - the exception? Oatmeal cookies. The new summons find it weird that those are his apparent specialty but Aether and Mountain gently tell them to leave well enough alone when they find someone peering curiously around the doorway to the kitchen while Dew works.

Hes never been fond of oatmeal, let alone the cookie variant. Honestly, he'd dare to say he dislikes them. Dew only ever learned how to make them for Ifrit. After the at-the-time fire ghoul complained for the millionth time about having to pick raisins from them every time he wants to enjoy a damn cookie, he begrudgingly rolled up his sleeves and sought out perfecting them. Feigning annoyance every step of the way, especially when Ifrit sat on the only section of counter not covered in some substance and cooed over his 'sweet little angelfish' being a darling housewife.

Theyre not good at first. Not by a long shot. Too salty, too dry, too many oats, not enough oats, Dew went through every varient of wrong he could until the day Ifrit's eyes sparkled at the first bite. The memory of it still makes his heart melt before the ache of grief takes hold.

Back then, he'd make a batch every damn week for Ifrit. Anything to see how Ifrit lit up. Nowadays it's rare to find him in the kitchen; usually only on a few specific days in the year nobody seems to know the significance of or nights where his newfound smoky scent and empty bed ignite a longing so fierce it threatens to swallow him whole. Like the shark he once was, remaining still would lead him straight to ruin. He does his best to keep busy those nights.

Everyone's learns not to question the random half dozen cookies left wrapped in plastic on the kitchen counter anymore. More importantly, they learn to stop asking where Dew vanishes off to some days. Mountain and Aether learn which gravestones to retrieve the plates from in the afternoon when Dew finally drags himself back into the den.

i do not think i could ever emphasise just how much the byler fight + mileven breakup make me truly believe byler endgame.

the mileven breakup is, very obviously, a scene that isnt supposed to be taken seriously. its in a open space, the sky is blue, there are people all around and it also focuses on the other characters (ig. max and lucas and will) which shows that its not a personal moment. you’d think that if this was a serious breakup scene, it would be done in way that makes it feel like its private, not showing anyone but those two but they dont and the emotions you see on mike and el’s faces are more annoyed than upset.

the byler fight however, is literally the exact opposite. it’s isolated, just in mike garage and its only mike and will. lucas is still in the other room yet you forget that he’s there because he kinda just disappears after mike and will leave the basement. its a cold, dark scene and its raining. mike and will are both visibly upset in this scene, they both get mad for a moment but other than that they look like they almost want to cry.

so if you were to ask someone who has never seen stranger things, which scene they thought was the breakup scene. i think we can ALL agree which they would pick. and its NOT the one that EVERY person has laughed at when they watched it for the first time

i think that Tired Eddie Kaspbrak is a completely different person from Sleepy Eddie Kaspbrak,,,,,, and it's quite soon into their relationship that richie meets and grows to understands both of them.

tired eddie kaspbrak comes home from his third overtime shift that week, grumpy because his boss doesn't know how to run a business and if eddie were in charge, maybe things would actually get done around there. tired eddie kaspbrak huffs and puffs about everything and anything and rants about his idiotic coworkers for 10 minutes straight or until he's run out of steam. tired eddie kaspbrak does not want to hear a joke about his mother, which richie learns the hard way, but learns nonetheless. the only place that tired eddie kaspbrak wants to be is in bed, and he falls asleep with his face all scrunched up and somehow, to richie's amazement, keeps the look on his face all through the night.

sleepy eddie kaspbrak on the other hand,,, richie usually meets him on the couch after eddie has insisted multiple times "yes, i'm still watching the movie, no i'm not falling asleep". sleepy eddie kaspbrak has attachment issues in that, once he has attached himself to richie's arm koala style, richie has issues in trying to get him to let go (i mean, not that richie wants him to let go, but sometimes it can be a real problem if richie needs to piss). sleepy eddie kaspbrak is the silliest to have conversations with, because even when richie says ridiculous things like "oh by the way, i signed us up to be foster parents for a whole family of guinea pigs from the animal shelter. all 12 of them are getting delivered on friday", because sleepy eddie kaspbrak will just cuddle up more and respond with something like "oh that's nice...." (the next morning he wakes up like 'WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE'RE TAKING IN 12 GUINEA PIGS' bc it took all night for him to process) as he dozes in an out of sleep. sleepy eddie kaspbrak also sometimes makes an appearance in the morning, when richie wakes up and tries to get out of bed and sleepy eddie kaspbrak will wrap his arms tighter around him and mumble a soft little "5 more minutes?" and richie has to remind him that he already asked for 5 more minutes, 10 minutes ago, and sleepy eddie kaspbrak just shrugs and nuzzles his face against richie's shoulder and mumbles "two more minutes, then" and of course richie can't argue with that. when richie does manage to get out of bed, sleepy eddie kaspbrak will wrap his arms around richie's waist from behind and rest his head against richie's shoulder, not before giving richie a soft kiss on the back of his neck, and stand there while richie makes coffee for them and richie laces his fingers with eddie's as sleepy eddie kaspbrak slowly wakes up.

I feel like this perfectly demonstrates their relationship right now. Luka holds Hyuna, trapping her and preventing her from leaving while he points at her, seemingly accusingly. However Hyuna has that strange look on her eyes, like she isnt there fully. Shes looking at Luka but not at luka, if you know what I mean. Like shes lost in a trance, at the same time her own hand is lying on Luka’s shoulder.

This entire scene looks like a dance, how Luka’s hand is on her waist and Hyuna’s hand is on his shoulder.

I do wanna talk about how Luka is pointing at Hyuna like this. Its strange isnt it? We haven’t seen Hyuna do anything wrong, at least to our knowledge yet. However I do want to point out how in All In, when we see Hyunwoo’s death, Its not clear who pushed and accidentally killed him.

While we might assume its Luka, we have no definitive proof that he was the one to actually hit or push him, not to mention he was on the ground as well, meaning that if he did push Hyunwoo, he wouldve fallen himself.

however he lays on his side. if he did push hyunwoo, then wouldn’t he have fallen on his back?

This makes me wonder if it was actually Hyuna, and while this isn’t a rare or unheard of theory in Alien Stage, i think the new offical art might hint that this is true. What if the reason he points at her is to signify it was her fault Hyunwoo fell. That he’s accusing her of pushing and killing Hyunwoo.

Another thing I wanna point out is that the new post seems to be the exact opposite of this shot. In the shot, Hyuna towers over Luka, she is the one in control as she grabs Luka’s face with an icepick (is it an icepick? it looks like one to me.) and holds it to him threatenly. Despite this, Luka still touches her, he holds onto her hip and he lets himself be held like this by Hyuna, seeming to welcome whatever Hyuna will throw at him.

However the roles are reversed in the new post. Luka is now the one in control, he doesn’t need a weapon, but rather he reminds her of what happened. But Hyuna holds him softly, and doesn’t try to resist or run, just standing there with him.

Full on saying "sex based oppression isn't real, that's a radfem talking point" seems like way too much to me. Like, it IS real. Every single person who was assigned female at birth, or who is considered to be female bodied in any way (so, including eg trans fems who may be considered female bodied due to surgery, intersex people who were maybe assigned as female later on in life), is oppressed because of that. That's an inarguable fact.

But that doesn't mean every single person who was assigned male at birth oppresses every single person assigned female at birth through the axis of sex. Like, obviously trans people who were amab don't have more social privilege as a group than cis gender conforming women.

I don't know what you're reading, but I would never describe them as completely different. Sure, they ARE different characters, but if anything is similar about them, it is their personalities and the role they play in the story.

They are both very dedicated and passionate about their corresponding passions despite neither of them having "natural talent." Instead of giving up, they keep working hard to show themselves that they can follow the path they want to despite what others (Vivid Street (Arata) in Akitos's case and their dad in Ena's) around them have to say about it.

They're both very blunt whether they mean to be rude or not, but they both also care a lot about the people around them, especially their units and each other even if they don't show it in normal ways.

Their inferiority in their talents also brings the fact that both of them experience jealousy for people who show they have more talent which is shown in both of their focus events a lot

Neither of them is very academically gifted mostly through a lack of interest

And theres a lot more which im sure someone less tired than me would love to tell me in the notes :)

people have a tendency to demonise Ena for being mean or violent or whatever people want to call her. but what Ena is usually criticised for Akito typically isn't (cough cough this fanbase has a history of being very male-biased which I hate)

Akito is also mean, he was a dick to everyone in his unit in the main story at some point and he often pulls pranks on the people in his school (Tsukasa) just to highlight a few easy things

AND FOR THE VIOLENT THING.

People have a tendency to highlight Ena scratching Akito when she was stressed out in middle school. and not to generalise. but. i am convinced you people are only children AND did not read the VBS main story

siblings fight, it's normal, especially in a household like the Shinonomes with the whole emotionally neglectful dad thing they got going on, i fought with my brother a lot as a kid and it happens. I'm not saying it's great and everyone should be attacking their siblings but the people who focus on Ena scratching Akito seem to magically forget.

I've seen people make the argument that Akito can be excused cuz of the circumstances it happened being stressful and made him angry. But that clearly ignores what Ena was going through in middle school.

i think a large part of their dynamic is carried by their similarities - they share a lot of the same key traits and they tend to but heads due to it but they do care about each other a lot in their own sibling way. I also just relate to them both a lot lmao

but in my opinion at the VERY LEAST they share so much of their personalities and with how much Ena is demonised by some of this fandom it's a red flag to me to like Akito and hate Ena.
