THANK U today i am thinking about them in the current motogp climate.... with marc goin against pecco post-arm nightmare and vale kinda having to juggle that. cuz i DO think in this universe that theyve done a lot of work to present themselves as a unit and subsume their egos/accomplishments into one another by this point (in this universe theyve been together EIGHT YEARS.... PUBLICLY... so its very if i win you win and vice versa etc. power couple.), BUT theres a very sort of. direct temptation for vale here wrt to a protege stepping to marc like this. and the desire to see marc succeed (and come back from injury.... which truly i think that entire period with marc miserable and in the hospital and then the diplopia re-occurrence scared him SO bad. and marc is finally smiling again, but a BIG part of vale would be at peace if he never saw him swing a leg over a motorcycle again. now will he tell him this. NO. marc owuld not listen lmao) IS kinda warring with seeing marc do crimes against his little babies. all that anxiety about safety multiplied on both sides of the equation. and the press is asking for his take about their battles eighteen times a day cuz hes skulking around the paddock haunting marc's every step like some sort of victorian ghost. so hes maybe a lil tense a lil distant... still there to blow marc's back out but hes working through some valentino-style marc neuroses as he often is, so its. odd. not a rough patch, but vale likes having a hand on the scale and anywhere he places it now feels like a bit of a betrayal so its COMPLEX...

and then with MARC. lmao. like okay pecco and marc WOULD know each other a lot better here just like ranch-wise, but is marc letting literally anyone get in the way of a championship bid ever NOOOOOOOO. and suddenly pecco (used to the somewhat friendly criminal shenanigans of the ranch) has marc divebombing him off the line every weekend in a grand prix for realsies and is like AHHHHHHHH and then they climb off of their bikes in parc ferme and marc is like hi :) and then lopes over to pecco's section to high five gigi and smooch vale

Amazing, actually! They're gonna get to do their weird little shows, without ads, and without having to get approval of sponsors for their content. The sponsors are gonna be US!

yeah, change is always challenging, but it can be good, too. I love it when creatives are able to change their business so they can focus on creating, you know? I look forward to lots more creativity at Watcher in the future!

how he was deathly scared of being dirty, of not knowing where he was, of not being able to predict the world around him. how he was more scared of his world order being offended than anything else. how knowing that pennywise is real sent him down this spiral of 'what else can be real' and it broke him. but he STILL was the one who cut everyone's hand and made the oath. how bill constantly reminds him of his bird book and how it saved him. how he is more mentally fragile than eddie. how he's one of the only Losers who ever says "i can't do this", but he still gets to his feet and makes jokes right after he cries. stan uris, who, after Mike is like, "i just saw a killer bird!" goes, "what kind of bird?"

thinking about how we really don't know how his death went down so we don't know what he was thinking in those last moments. how he threw away his whole picturesque life because of a promise he made, and because he couldn't honor it. how he's such a private person, a quiet one, but he's so so so sharp and graceful. i wish they showed more of his fear in the movies, how much it fucked him up in the end.

I wish that Aaron Boone would do his job correctly. Aaron Judge holds up his swing, and the ump says that he didn't. It was sooooooo close. Boone should've challenged the call, but NOOOOOOO. At least he's taken Holmes out of the game and put a good pitcher in... Tommy Kahnle. I wish they would've traded Boone by the deadline 🤣 We need pitchers and a good manager who respects the players and makes good decisions. A manager who stands up for his team. ouuuuu thinking abt hag romance after shri’iia’s identity reveal aka part where they visit the lolth drow cache and she suddenly starts violently heaving then proceed to vomit out spiders - a taste of lolth’s wrath - and I think she would’ve been punished even more severely (like turned into a drider) without the tadpole protecting her. and then shri’iia is back on flight or fight mode the whole time they’re in the underdark bc she’s paranoid over what lolth could do next and the reaction from the Others. the punishment of a caught lie is usually death from her experience, and as the person who would be the one enacting said punishments, her paranoia is back to being in an All Time High that she almost feels like she’s back home again. and it’s nice kind of! I think at one point shri’iia would be tempted to just run off with the artifact but where would she go? so she doesn’t. she just follows the herd and stews in her own paranoia, waiting in anticipation for another wave of lolth’s fury and/or these people turning on her - which never happens - the most they do is make her say who she really is and share what she knows - which she does. and that reveal ^ really puts a dent on astarion’s initial plan like is he supposed to seduce someone else now bc this one had been lying about herself?? but then he’s been watching her in every fight they’ve been in and she IS very strong btw, very capable paladin who’s able to smite with ease, she is still an asset, and the fact that no one really trusts her as much bc of that reveal he’s like hrmm. CAN work with this. not to mention that she was the one who trusted him first when he revealed he was a vampire so he can return the favour, and who cares if he manipulates her feelings in the process and makes it feel like he’s the only person she can now trust now that she’s been caught red handed (amateur mistake btw, as a fellow charlatan he’s tsking) what matters is that HE’S returning the favour! and his plan is still going. and she’s relatively strong, maybe her divine smites can work against cazador - he’d love to see his smarmy face burnt off by divine light - that prospect is appealing enough that he can ignore what happened, and that she was a lolth stan, and that she’s been lying bc who else isn’t? what matters is that his plan works and he has someone by his side to use. so he DOES manipulate her and charm her and woo her, give her that consolation she needs because no one is on her side currently. and in shri’iia’s part she just wants a distraction bc she’s scared out of her wits currently she does not even care that she’s being used - welcomes that actually since it’s familiar to her, so she does keep sleeping with him, and she generally sticks close to him now bc she doesn’t know the others will React. for the most part I think they’re just peeved and more alarmed over the vomiting out spiders part than the fact that she’s a lolth cultist - like wow not another person lying about themselves (cough shadowheart) - and I think they have bigger problems to worry about, like turning into a mindflayer for example, and it’s water under the bridge just as long as she doesn’t lie to them anymore. but shri’iia doesn’t get that ofc now she feels the need to overtly compensate her usefulness bc if she’s not useful then she’s not good for anything, and she’ll be culled (or so she believes).
