Oh, very well, she may as well indulged. She was vaguely promised a chance at more spawn, after all, and seeing someone so brazenly naked outside? Far be it from Rhok'zan to disobey what she did best.

The dress she wore slid off like it was liquid, leaving her furred body bare with little fanfare as she stepped outside. Allowing herself to stretch arms over her head and arch her back; the curves of her body on full-display as eyes creep open.

"You kids have had your fun, now allow me to show you what a goddess can do." Never mind she's still, in fact, at least holding back the pull of her body to keep her from being rendered irresistible. She's not quite that drunk yet.

y'all know that feeling where you forgot a detail about your oc (because barton basically is my oc at this point LOL) and then it comes back at the most freaking random time to haunt you? because that is pretty much what just happened to me and it's uhhh. i wasn't sure whether barton's mental state could get any worse, but it seems i was wrong. trigger warning for self-harm under the cut.

so, i think i have talked about this before concerning barton's sociopathic nature, but if there is one thing that people with ASPD experience: it's this chronic feeling of emptiness within them that makes it hard for them to enjoy a lot of thing's. and this, combined with the fact that they can't easily connect with other people due to the fact that they're lacking in empathy... well, it's particularly relevant to barton because he has literally hurt himself before just to feel something.

but barton just acts like nothing is wrong a majority of the time if you see him with bandages on his arms. because he truly does feel a blend of not knowing how to ask for help, as well as thinking that he doesn't need people pitying him, though wanting to help someone who is mentally unwell is usually done out of concern — but barton just doesn't think that way for whatever reason. like, he does have a different perception / a warped perception of reality compared to other people, though he figures that it'd probably be best if he just dealt with it alone. because if even he doesn't know how to voice how desperate barton feels sometimes to get away from the emptiness, then he believes that no one would understand enough to help him, anyway.

and i think he still does it sometimes because barton is just genuinely so depressed that even when he gets something he thinks he wants about 50 percent of the time, it turns out that no, he actually doesn't want it - and he's constantly seeking out stimulation because barton's sense of boredom is like a beast in the way that it almost never seems to go away. because once he learns about something new, sure... it's cool for a little while, but then this new thing he's learned tarnishes and loses its luster, so-to-speak. so it's no longer appealing for him to do + it makes high-risk / thrill seeking thing's like drinking, gambling, egging people on intentionally (especially if they're dangerous), etc. even not seem satisfying sometimes.

(( As a kinda silly OOC thing: I like conceiving of Miranda (and her connections through the Merkingdom) as being an anti-OP muse.

As in, I like the thought of, the more OP someone or something else is, the worse of a time they have being able to do anything to Miranda. She is, very intentionally and within the logic of her own universe, designed to be able to handle those with extreme power and authority and to be able to undermine everything they can throw at her and counteract anything that they try to do.

She's already a royal, next in line to her throne! She has to be able to fully handle other people in similar positions without risking any damage to her own, and this is something that she's dealt with her entire life. She very much knows all the risks associated as a part of her job, her title, her entire reason for being born, and she's well-trained in the formal and informal methods of striking down anyone else who might even come close to a position to her own.

Which, of course, means that muses that very much aren't OP, that are just normal people or much closer to it, are much, much more capable of threatening Miranda and the Merkingdom both as a point of intention. This is something that I very much want and very much want to encourage. Especially because the reason this is such a problem is the way that the Merkingdom and, thus, Miranda, entirely overlook and ignore such threats and treat them like non-issues. The fact that most Merkingdom royals, upon actually encountering a landfolk, have a range of responses from discomfort to dismissal to ignorance, is one that is very purposeful here. The ones that they're most likely to pay attention to are the ones in the most danger, and the ones that they aren't likely to care very much about beyond petty malice and as another means to inflate their own egos. And, as it is, the ones they're most likely to pay attention to are those that have decided to pose a risk.

And it's a thing that I've been dealing with from the beginning too. From the start of this blog I was very bothered by the idea that some OP character would decide to singlehandedly "fix" or destroy the Merkingdom from a position of equal or greater authority. Which is not to say that I didn't want it to be changed or that there weren't ways to dismantle it. But rather, I wanted it to be more organic, and I wanted to deal with the actual question of how that even happens, and I wanted to ask the question of what could measurably improve this situation and Miranda's life both.

Which meant that, yeah, the more OP a muse is the more intentionally destined for failure they are, and the closer they approach "some guy", the more they'll be able to achieve. Which is not to say it won't be difficult or hard to do, or that there's not the possibility for failure (again, even at her most basic, Miranda is a macropredator that can easily maim someone, but more typical "normal" muses are more likely to possess caution and try to read her body language before pressing her), but the fact remains, very intentionally, that they are the only ones who will be able to do it.

i've been watching things with ghosts in them (as in, fictional ones. the gentlest of fictional ghost stories) and. i won't do it because this is not the sort of thing i do. or even the sort of thing i want to do, at all. but if it were. if there were any part of me that did want to do it. then this would be what gets me to write major character death fic for one of the buddy cop fandoms

PLOTS & WISHLIST !

FIANCÉ : When Ranma was a kid, his father had basically sold him to a lot of people –that wanted a heir to marry their daughter– in exchange for food when he was young. Of course, his father immediately stole him back afterwards and ran away once he got his food, but a deal is a deal. If your muse has a closed-minded parent, or otherwise did actually like Ranma when they met him, we can set a plot where they meet / be forced to meet. All your muse will need to know about Ranma is that he’s pretty good at martial arts, and that he likes food. Ranma has trouble remembering people, so he would likely have no clue who your muse is aside from an odd sense of deja vu. He would absolutely believe your muse if they tell him his dad sold him for food, though.

CAT MUSE : A muse with feline attributes interacting with Ranma. He’s deathly terrified of cats, so it would make for one fun interaction. Felines are his ultimate weakness. Be prepared, because his coping mechanism with this fear is pretty odd, to say the least.

COMEDY : Ranma needs something from your muse. He secretly turns himself into a girl and tries to befriend / woo your muse to have them help him out. Unfortunately, things quickly get complicated.

UH OH : Your muse catches Ranma turning into a girl / back into a guy. Horrified at the prospect of your muse selling out his secret, Ranma will do anything for your muse to get on their good side and make them promise not to tell anyone.

TROUBLEMAKER : Especially when he’s amidst a fight, Ranma tends to forget his surroundings, which often causes him to crash right into valuable things and damage them. If your muse has something really valuable that you want broken, this plot might work for them. Similarly, if your muse is dangerous, this is a great way to get Ranma on their bad side and cause either a one-sided or a mutual hostility.

RYOGA : This one’s just a wishlist thing. I need a Ryoga muse for my Ranma to pester like the mf he is.

Although the "once a Wammy, always a Wammy" saying is true and these orphans cannot escape from the House's surveillance for more than a few years at best even if they change everything about themselves in an attempt to do so, and although they're always ready to go against each other even if they used to be good friends back at the institution; I adore how they can always count on the other orphans to take care of the people dear to them if they ever die. It doesn't matter whether they hated each other or even killed each other, the surviving orphans will make sure the dead orphan's friends and family are never going to want for anything ever again til the day they die of old age.

Au where the Mystery Shack still functions as a tourist trap/front but also as a safe place for kids who are victims of abuse or neglect/are runaways. Often, they don't stay very long, and he never sees them again, but providing a short-term, stable place to live can mean the world to someone. The Gravity Falls Gossiper once tried to run a story on Stan when people finally caught on, incorrectly guessing he had children no one ever knew about, but no one took it seriously.

It was, admittedly, much harder to keep it running when Mabel and Dipper came to visit, and Stan almost told their parents not to send them. When they did find out, Mabel thought it was so cool and tried very hard to befriend the kids that stayed the night.

When Ford comes back and demands he get his house back, the whole operation falls apart while they sort out their mess.

As promised, here's everyone's relationship info! ( If they aren't here, it's bc I haven't developed them enough in this area. )

Luparon. Demi, possibly asexual, possibly pan?? I'm not sure and neither is it. Probably about the same for romantic interests. Would be quite open to the idea of a polyamorous relationship. No experience with these things at all, or even to the culture of it, really, but would actually be open to and interested in learning. ( Note: very socially anxious individual; will not bring any of these subjects up on its own bc it doesn't know how to approach these things -- BUT will only turn down advances if it's genuinely disinterested in someone. ) Theoretically v willing to be a committed partner, but would want room to learn before committing to specifics like that, but would still stay within whatever boundaries that would have been set going into the relationship.

Mourndax. Homosexual and romantic. Has some experience, part with his first boyfriend in his teens, part with the woman he was forced to marry and have a child with, and some from a string of one night stands he's had since he settled on the surface. Not into polyamory. By default on the flakey side of committed bc he has issues, but is more the type to push people away out of a panic response; NOT someone who would cheat, to be clear.

Blurg. Pan / demi, both sexual and romantic. No experience prior to a ship, as he's a little fucked up from his childhood and needs a certain level of trust and similar interests before he starts to get feelings for anyone. And tbh, despite his culture being p open with sex, he's one that prefers to only have it with someone he has a strong romantic relationship with. Possibly situationally poly, but primarily monogamous. I cannot stress enough that he is the extremely committed sort that takes that kind of thing v seriously.

Grazilaxx. Pan / demi, both romantic and sexual. Good amount of experience prior to a ship, as it has dated and slept with a good handful of humaniods in between leaving its colony and the BG3 era, but they also serve as a laundry list of things it doesn't like in a relationship, so it's a lot pickier than it used to be about entering into such things. Probably only monogamous bc I have a hard time trying to imagine it pouring that kind of energy into multiple people or being okay with its partner doing that.

Orianna. Pansexual, with a strong male preference. Demiromantic. Extremely sexually experienced, as she's someone that likes sex a LOT. Not so romantically experienced, as the first and only time she tried it was one-sided and toxic af. Strictly monogamous if romantic, poly if sexual. Up front, it's difficult to get her to really commit to anyone in any kind of fashion, but if she actually emotionally bonds to someone, she'll happily commit to levels that mirror her affection level. Note: Confident in herself and not the sort to jump at ghosts so to speak ( meaning, not going to see reasons to be jealous when it isn't something obviously romantic or sexual going on ) but is the ugly jealous sort. Highly advised to be 100% certain before asking her to commit.

Amis. Bisexual and romantic. Fairly experienced sexually; some of it with devils, some of it with humanoids. Most of it p rough, which he likes less as he ages. Not super experienced romantically, but has kind of dated an erinyes and a fellow knight. Never actually been in love before Ashen / a ship. Situationally flexible with monogamy and or polyamory; depends on the partner(s) and the situation. The 'I found my person and it doesn't matter if they die when we're young or if we're old, no one else can ever take their place and it hurts too much to think of even trying' level of committed.

Yzare. Asexual and demi / grey romantic. Not at all experienced before a ship bc she's not interested in seeking that sort of thing out, and is perfectly fine with the idea of never having been in a relationship if she never discovers feelings for someone. Strictly monogamous bc she will 100% be a little possessive of a partner. Ride or die level committed.

Methil. Greysexual and romantic. Not experienced in any way shape or form bc he is a traditional squid, and traditional squids aren't even allowed to form platonic relationships, so he's literally never considered romance or sex. Could possibly be convinced of it if the subject was broached, as long as he's not actively in a colony. No idea on the rest tho

Cherish. Homosexual and romantic. Hadn't had any experience before Nephris, I think bc he's never had anyone but Nephris stay in his life long term so the idea was terrifying. Wholly monogamous. Committed body and soul to Nephris in the most unbreakable flavor there is.

Varen. Pansexual and romantic. P well experienced, bc tbh if you're down, he's down. V open and willing to love emotionally or sexually. Willing to go either way with monogamy or polyamory tbqh; the joke of the campaign he was created for was that the party was a polycule with a freshly adopted corvid child, but would also commit to only one person if that's what they wanted and he's in love. Not super committed by default, but would absolutely be the sort to follow a partner to the Hells and back without being asked.
