Good afternoon, friends ! We are getting closer to the awaited REMAKE that I have to stop for a moment and organize which threads and asks I'll be continuing on the new blog. Under the read more a list of those you'll see around in the future. There's not a lot but I still want to make things clear. Regardless of when they were sent or when was the last reply, these ic interactions will get continued from my part !

It's finally the time ladies, gentlemen and nonbinary people ! This lovely blog that I have had since 2022 is finally reaching its end. VISIONKEPT is no more as Tomo will resurface back on a NEW BLOG !

Dear friends, thank you so much for so many amazing years in this silly corner of tumblr ( and especially grateful for everyone's patience ). I hope I get to see all of you in the next chapter. THE NEW AND IMPROVED TOMO blog will be COMING THIS MARCH ! Why not now ? Well, I'm taking a month and a week break from Tomo to focus on irl stuff like improving my portfolio and getting more active on the drawing side. Might open a graphic blog one day, who knows.

ANYWAYS, I have to thank you all once more for the support and for giving this character a chance. After almost four years I have finally found the direction I want to take my Tomo and for that, it's for the best to start fresh on a new blog as the new Tomo will have an entire different focus, a kind of REBOOT if you would like to call it that way. Worry not, it's the same idiot you love and care for BUT with a few tweaks in verses and lore.

CHANGES IN TOMO'S CHARACTER:

Tomoya's name will be changed from "Aoki Tomoya" to Sunohara Tomoya ( yes, to match the spring aesthetic ).

Tomoya's character will be the current reincarnation of TAKAMINE THE MISTSPLITTER and their lore will be heavily tied to INAZUMA'S LORE.

Compared to this old blog where Tomo being alive is more of an AU, the new blog will have a MAIN VERSE where Tomo IS alive. Will be treated as if IN GAME they had been trapped in Ei's plane of Euthymia all this time right until Sumeru's interlude. They manage to break free after Wanderer's Irminsul incident. Currently they are an occasional Crux member that travels around all the nations. MORE TO BE EXPLAINED LATER.

NEW IMPORTANT TOMO LORE. Tomoya got CURSED by the ABYSS when they used to be Takamine and every reincarnation has it. MORE TO BE EXPLAINED LATER.

Tomo used to have a biological sister in the genshin verse. Well, not anymore lol. Making them an only child. At least they still got Chi - chan !

Unless I've approached you to be mains, ALL ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS WILL HAVE A RESET. Lil crushes or platonic bonds do not count on this reset.

NO EI "BOOBA SWORD" OR "KAZUHA WEED JOKE". Makes me uncomfortable and I think they are dumb. Next question.

"Happy birthday, Tomo~♡" Kokomi chimes, peeking from behind the sliding doors to her study. Her face as bright and pale as the moon, her lips curling up into a tiny crescent. She caught Tomo red-handed on fumbling in the tight corridor behind her doors, the two halves of their self yet again arguing whether to knock or not. At this point, it must be a bad habit, no?

"Hehe~♡ Look! I painted your figurines." She dove inside the room then back outside in the blink of an eye, holding out a polished box as if she had everything prepared in advance. Inside, the wooden sea critters that Tomo had carved last year were neatly lined up and proudly presenting their new colours but Kokomi moved them away before Tomo could take a good look.

"For you." She pulled up another open box, inside a few small animals made of polished glass. The shapes seemed to wobble, too big here and crooked around there, betraying the beginning sculptor's shaking hands. Truth told, she had only learnt this craft last week from a visiting artisan from Fontaine. There was no time or much spare materials to practice…

"I'm not very good at this… " Kokomi mumbled, turning away her eyes, "but I hope you like it."

And just like last time, they are back outside her office, the weight of their intention bumping up the adrenaline in their veins. A scene too familiar for those passing by the same hall, their presence no more than a whisper lost in the hum of routine. A day like any other, ordinary and plain, or so it seems to everyone but THEM.

On this fateful morning they've come with a purpose; to share this meaningful occasion with her. With today being their birthday, it felt only natural to want to spend it in her excellency's company. A hopeful wish rooted in the ( not so ) one sided love they held for the other. A bit bold, obvious even, though in the nature of a human to want to spend it with the person they cared the most. You could say that they were on a mission then, with the first obstacle being. . . the door.

COWARDICE was never a trait that suited them well, yet in that moment, it fit them greatly. The absurdity of the situation, the sheer struggle of knocking on a door, left them engulfed in their own embarrassment. Through countless battles they had stood unshaken ( undaunted ), but this meeting in particular unraveled their calm like no other. Tomoya can hear their heartbeat, a restless drum echoing in their ears, as their hand brushes against the single barrier standing right between the two. Once again the ronin is stuck with the same DOUBTS at the same place. Gods, with how things are going they might as well date the door instead. . . Better get it together before it becomes a reality.

Well, at least Kokomi knew better than to keep herself waiting from their expected hesitation. AH ━━ they have become rather PREDICTABLE. Their antics easy to read as they hang loose on their sleeve. There's a nervous laughs coming from their throat right after bowing lightly on her sudden appearance ( not that formalities as such mattered between them anyways ). Her bubbly demeanor helped them regain some of that lost confidence, a smile coming back in record time. ❝ You remembered. ❞ They don't get the time to speak much more, her eagerness bounced in the room as she went back and forward between the prepared gifts.

She kept them, she really did.

Tomoya is then surprised with some old friends they haven't seen in a long time. Little creatures carved from wood, flawed, with uneven parts and crooked smiles. Perfectly imperfect, just how they remember them. It meant the world to them that she had kept it all this time. Even more so with the newly painted strokes giving them a new turn in life. Eyes widely open adore them from their stand, a desire to watch them from up close arises until they are moved away from their sight. A brief moment to see that despite their doubts, they were still on her mind.

Unforeseen had been the new figurines in the second open box she had ready. Out of polished glass, with the form of distinctive animals such as cats and birds. Like their wooden critters, these had MISTAKES - pieces of art that could have turned out better in the hands of an expert. But Tomoya doesn't care about that nor minds it entirely. They were more focused on the small details and the love poured into them. Small, fragile and unequalled on their humble perspective. A gift worth their adoration.

Calloused digits taking one for a better inspection, letting the light of the room shine through it. ❝ I didn't know you were gifted in such a craftsmanship. ❞ The flustered look on their cheeks growing warmer, handmade gifts touching upon a special fiber on their heart. ❝ Thank you, princess, I loved them. ❞ A better 'thank you' given in the form of a peck on her head, one of those rare instances when their BOLDNESS takes over. Enjoy the affection for as long as they are unaware of their own actions.

It was the most special day! Kazuha had to get the perfect gift for them so of course everything was handmade with a touch of Kaedehara flare. Some Sakura mochi made in the shape of little kitty cats and bunny rabbits, topped with cute garnishes. Took a lot of time to shape them just right but Kazuha was proud of himself.

The next gift was something a bit more lasting. With some help from other artisans along their travels he spun a woven bracelet made from many multi colored threads. All each a color for the places they have traveled together. The bracelet was long showing just how much the pair have traveled, a beautiful array of colors. With their travels in Fontaine it ended in beautiful shades of blues.

HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY TOMOYA !

Waking up by Kazuha’s side felt like a gift itself, a quiet blessing that filled the morning with warmth and peace. And this SPECIAL DAY was no different. Within their handmade tent both ronins rested right until the gentle daylight sun hit their features. Groggy tones and tired mumbles were exchange, a few pecks spared along the way. Their feline friend right in the middle, curling up to both in an attempt to catch their attention ( it was working ). Tomo wouldn’t have minded if the entire day had unfolded just like that, sharing one lazy birthday TOGETHER.

But needless to say, Kazuha wouldn't let that be one ordinary morning.

When the fellow ronin left the bed to prepare their gifts, Tomo simply muttered a fruitless 'stay' that fell short on their intentions. Kazuha left, with the promise of returning soon enough, and Tomo as reply, resumed their sleep moments later. For two hours they slept. . . or tried to at least. With the other missing, it wasn't as easy and Tomo, desperate for the time to pass by, played with their 'daughter' on the meantime. Soon after, Kazuha came back with something in hand.

❝ Heh, it's like one small piece of you. ❞ Sakura mochis with a theme of rabbits. ❝ and you too, Tama. ❞ Some others shaped as cats. The first one that catches their eyes becomes their little test subject for a continuous squeeze and stretch, their inanimate features molding to the touch. Although they were meant to be eaten, Tomoya took greater delight in the CUTENESS they possessed. Ah ! Eating them felt like a crime, but leaving Kazuha waiting might be an even greater offense. The eagerness in scarlet hues grew by the second and though he didn't say anything, the blond could tell what he was thinking; 'Take a bite, Tomoya ! Take a bite !'

And that's what they do, taking one bite before the second makes the mochi vanish from plain sight. It's good, DELICIOUS, their palate always so welcoming to Kazuha's culinary skills. Another, this time a rabbit, ends in their mouth right after. The third one is not so different from the rest, except for Tomo making their partner feed it to them with a pleading look ( taking advantage of their special day to be pampered ? GUILTY AS CHARGED ). ❝ Taking care of me like this. My, oh my. I might start to believe that you like me ~ ❞ He does and Tomoya knows that already, playfully teasing him in a way comes natural to them, just like old times. Kazuha huffs and in between the older's loud cracked laugh and their attempt to prompt a kiss, the young hero slides the bracelet on them, THE SECOND GIFT.

❝ Oh - ❞ The lively tone changes to a tender one, red and pinks suddenly invading their features. On their wrist rested multicolored threads with a symbolism behind them, the kind only the two would understand. Their travels turned into a bracelet, a story told in shades of turquoise, yellow, purple, green, and blue. It warms their heart in ways they can't describe. ❝ It's so. . . ❞ Their arm raises yet the bracelet stays, Tomo lets the rays of sun caress it and for a moment they feel blessed. Everything they have been through TOGETHER was now set properly on their wrist. ❝ Kazuha, THANK YOU. I love it. ❞ And that 'I love you' is better said in actions than in words, leaning down to meet his lips and seal them together. What a wonderful birthday they would spend together, one of MANY TO COME.

" —tada! Now, I had to guesstimate a little on the shoulder measurement, but, I think it should work. " it being a very handsomely tailored silk haori... hewn from a pretty fabric: deep red-violet base interwoven with wisps of black and gold, and pale chrysanthemum blossoms embroidered throughout. A tinge flashy, perhaps, but undeniably luxurious; and is that not what someone deserves on their special day?

" Happy birthday, Tomoya-kun— and here's to many, many more."

Trying out new clothes felt. . . WEIRD, ━━━ should specify that they mean it in a good way, of course. Rarely do they ever have the necessity to seek out for a change of wardrobe or the replacement of any of their current pieces. Besides the disruptances regarding the prices compared to their gains, Tomoya never found themselves pulled towards anything in particular. Both, their symbolic red haori and the old-fashioned lavender scarf, have lingered by their side for far more than any of the past companions the ronin have had on their travels. They hold SENTIMENTAL value in addition of their practicality, two clothes they have never thought of renewing nor changing any time soon . . . or so they had thought.

When their employer came in with a big box in hand, Tomo couldn’t help but wonder what this was all about. Their incertitude getting an answer when they opened it together. IT WAS A GIFT. A custom-tailored silk haori, similar in shape to the one they are used to be seen with. But in contrast to their worn-out rags, this cloth could inarguably be described as luxurious, with intricate details that made it stand out in every possible way. It's beautiful, refined, unique, something Tomoya would never be able to afford in ordinary circumstances. Their thumb gently brushes over the embroidered blossoms, and for a moment, they surrender to the urge to trace over every detail it possessed. It's so specific to their liking that they are left there, admiring what they considered a piece of art.

❝ Is. . . this really meant for me ? ❞ What a déjà vu, it's as if they have said something along those lines before ( and they sure have ). Before they can ask again, Honey insists with a chuckle, encouraging the ronin to try it on. And once they do, the new garment falls on their shoulders just right. It fits flawlessly and Tomo knows it by the excitement growing her features, her "guesstimate" being completely right on this occasion. ❝ You made it yourself right ? Gods, Honey, it's so ━━ PERFECT. ❞ For someone to pay close attention to the things they like, to know what suits them best and make something out of it. Ah - it's hard to describe the feeling this gives them. Tenderness might be the closest to it. A mix of red hues spread on their cheeks, her smile contagious though a hand tries to cover it up. ❝ I fear a simple 'thank you' won't do, it's just not enough to put into words my gratitude. ❞

A nervous laugh follows after, the flustered look on their face has never been this apparent. ❝ I will treasure it greatly. ❞ More than an employer, Honey truly felt like a friend. ❝ I'll find a way to repay you. Perhaps not in mora but hopefully, with something greater. Please, look forward to it. ❞

"Happy birthday Tomo!" Sora chirped, holding out a small, carefully wrapped box for them to take. It was full of dumplings-- the same kind they'd shared when they first met. Kept nice and hot, as always, by a little Adepti magic.

"I uh, also, there's.. something I've been meaning to show you." They'd come to know each other well enough, and Sora believed she could trust them. But besides that, seeing her other form is something she thinks they would genuinely enjoy considering how much they loved felines.

"Walk with me for a minute? There's too many people around here."

HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY TOMOYA !

Those dumplings serve as a nostalgic look back on how their friendship started. A dumpling that had once turned into two, then three and by the end of it Tomoya had not only a full stomach but, most importantly, a new FRIEND. Even the scent itself brings them back to those precious memories of a first meeting, the growing grin on their features spreading from one cheek to another. ❝ Sora - chan, you shouldn't have ~ ❞ There's an attempt of modesty carried on their reply, one quickly shattered by their eager acceptance of the gift. At least the remaining restraint in their body holds them back from trying them out right on the spot. Their hum, full of contentment, was all the proof she needed to know her gift had pleased them gratefully. And if their interest wasn't enough, here comes a pleading meow from under the wraps of their cloth - demanding a taste out of the homemade delicacy.

Sorry, Tama, but this ones aren't for you. ❝ Hey, if you are not busy right now, perhaps we could eat them TOGETHER. Just like old times ! ❞ Food does taste better with friends and a cat.

Though that will have to wait until later. ❝ Another surprise, huh ? How generous. ❞ Tomoya couldn't deny that her offer had piqued their interest, an eyebrow curving at the last request. Should they be worried ? Considering the special occasion, they doubt it would be something to be concerned of. After all, Sora's someone they could TRUST or so they hoped so. Regardless of the intentions the hydro user had, they took a leap of faith, following right behind as they left the town. At all times they hold the box with what would eventually be their dinner, a cat paw occasionally coming out to tap at the lid. Their lack of awareness about the situation didn’t stop them from asking questions as they ventured farther from their starting point. ❝ Does this have something to do about your part time job ? Are we going there NOW ? ! ❞ Not the time for that, Tomoya, not the time.

looks like a card has "sneakily" made its way onto tomo's room just as the girls have started to prepare for school. on the card were several doodles and a heartfelt letter that read:

To: Tomo-nii, Happy Birthday! Thank you for always taking care of me and Tama-chan.  I wanted to get you a cake like you’d always do on our birthdays but um …  I don’t have the money to buy it yet. Is it okay if i’ll get you the cupcake once i grow up and start working and earning money? Until then, here’s a drawing instead! A cake all for you!  We love you! From: Chihiro

HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY TOMOYA !

On that bright and warm Wednesday spring morning the girls had school like any other day, which meant waking up early to prepare the bentos and help them get ready in whenever aspect they required. Not to mention a six hours shift awaiting them afterwards. A pretty BUSY DAY for a family of three yet it had been that way for a while now. At least they have learned to manage things, feeling comfortable knowing that the girls weren't missing anything essential for their growth.

Alright, first thing in the morning: breakfast. Well, waking up ON TIME should be first but that's not really a problem. . . until TODAY.

Somehow their alarm didn't go off at the granted hour and this act of defiance had imposed a chain of events that would go down in their memory lane for the rest of their life.

Initially the older opened their eyes at seven instead of five. They hadn't suspected a thing throughout it, stretching peacefully in bed and feeling refreshened by the added hours to their sleep. Before searching for a shirt, Tomo held up the tangled mess of blond locks in a ponytail like they tend to, yawning on their way to open the curtains just to find an uneventful surprise; The sun was already out.

Under any other circumstances, this would be a good thing; in their current case, however, it meant they were running late. Normally when they wake up there's still a dark mantlet in the sky welcoming the early birds, meaning that Tomo had an hour or two to shower, make breakfast, clean the house and wake up the other two. But this spare hours were far too gone at this point and a quick check on their clock confirmed the evident: it was 7:05 A.M. without a doubt.

Shit, OKAY, it's not THAT BAD. ( It is ). I'll simply not shower today ( YIKES ) so I can focus on the bentos. But would I have time to cook some breakfast ? Maybe a fast sandwich- AH ! Today Tama asked for some fish though, that will surely take some time. Chihiro isn't as picky but she did crave some strawberries yesterday so maybe I could-

Their shirt gets put right on, the cellphone is thrown to the side and one slipper gets lost on their way to the door. They are in a rush and the stressed look said it all. Their steps are sloppy, desperate and they almost slip and fall down thanks to a piece of paper left on their room. ❝ Who left this here- ❞ Of course they know the answer to that, who else would come here to play and doodle with crayons if it wasn't them ? Ah, those kids really need to collect their things after playing. . .

Crouching down to fetch the paper is easier said than done. The stabbing pain in their lower back came as consequence of their continuous play times with the girls ( the older those two got, the harder it was to keep up. Acting out tea parties was one thing, playing horsey for two hours straight was another ). Their tiredness however, vanishes the moment violet hues gaze upon the card.

Their eyes scattered around the page with meticulous precision, analyzing every stroke of crayon and marker done by the child. There's a small snort coming out of turned up lips when their gaze situated on the drawing, it was ten times better than anything they could accomplIsh and the portrait of the smile gave them a warmth soothing feeling in their heart. A picture perfect family smiling and enjoying a cake together to celebrate THEIR BIRTHDAY. Ah, she sure was a better artist than them as well.

Gods, they had almost forgotten, today was supposed to be THEIR DAY. Little had it crossed their mind with how busy things have been lately. The few reminders given by Chihiro and Tama weren't properly noted and the marked calendar hadn't been consulted the previous night. . . or week on the matter. Unless it's one of the girls' birthdays, they don't really estimate in costs when it comes to their parties and gifts though when it is THEIRS, it's clearly another story.

For a split second they forget about any uneasiness in their life, pausing time to enjoy a brief yet sweet reminder that they are truly LOVED. For many, this was an ordinary piece of paper, for Tomo, this paper was their whole world. It's impossible not to feel sentimental about it, their eyes suddenly seeming a bit more watery than they recall. Perhaps the message alone, the effort of a portrait crafted with colorful crayons, and the intention of giving them something "better" in a nearby future - was far more VALUABLE than any cake. They don't have much but this, this was enough.

Those two had made them soft, there's no doubt on that. Almost tearing up like a baby because of a letter might not be what they planned on a day like this. In any case, there's no one present to judge them ( if Chihiro and Tama had been there to witness this side of theirs, they might have teased them endlessly ). Tomoya ends up wiping the tears building up in their eyes, and a laugh escapes them abruptly —becoming this sentimental has never been easy to deal with.

Right, yeah - today's their BIRTHDAY. But most importantly, they are running late on the girl's breakfast !

Their following moves are done on a fast sequence : Getting their missing slipper, adjusting their shirt and ponytail, fetch their phone ( open the chat with their boss in preparation ), retake a confident demeanor and step through the door to begin a new day. And it goes that way, with the difference that when Tomo opens the door, there's another surprise unfolding right in clear view.

Chihiro was making their own breakfast while Tama arranged the table with meticulous care. Two independent young ladies ( as independent as a toddler and a kid could be ) taking matters into their own hands. Properly dressed in their respective uniforms, attempted hairstyles and big determined smiles. They have been awake for a couple of hours by now or so the blonde assumes. Now they get it. Realization hits them like one cold shower, a sigh of defeat backing up their resignation. It was THEM who messed up with their alarm - they did it to let Tomo rest and in return they solved everything themselves ! Gods, those two are far more intelligent than many people give them credit for.

SMALL NOTE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE : change the phone's password. It seems those two have guessed it correctly . . . again.

❝ And to think I was just wondering where that burning smell came from from. ❞ Their approach is done casually, walking towards the brunette before lightly ruffling her hair. A mild tease is thrown in the mix and the huff doesn't do more than to make them laugh. The fried eggs in the pan WEREN'T overcooked though they would be if left for longer. ❝ Messing with my alarm was one bold move, kiddo. You're lucky I woke up in a good mood. ❞ On the contrary, they had woken up in a panic right until her letter turned that around in record time. Light, eager steps are heard as the smallest in the family draws near. As she finally catches up with the conversation her arms spread wide to embrace her parent. Her own proper way to say 'Happy birthday'.

Picking the child up is done with so much ease that doing it with one arm comes natural to them. Tama obtains a smile out of it, adjusting rather well on the new view from up above. ❝ Now that I got your attention. Allow me to share that I plan to take the day off from work. ❞ If their boss lets them to begin with. ❝ Maybe we could go and get some ice cream after classes to celebrate. How does that sound ? ❞ This wasn’t exactly how their younger self had imagined they’d be at twenty-six. Their whole world now revolving around those two and the Gods from above knew Tomoya wouldn't have it any other way.

I do believe that the ages were changed as the initial Kazuha was described around 16-17 plus, Kazuha drinking in canon shows that he ISN'T a minor. According to the description Tomo truly IS someone that will rebel, they are truthful to their beliefs and that they do question everything. Also the last part. . . DIED BEFORE THEIR TIME . . . it makes me wonder if they KNEW what was planned for them and they decided to change their fate.

I truly don't think Tomo would be able to see the aranaras. They are someone forced to grow out of that "child-wonder" early on in their life. Never had the time to be a "child" nor dream like one. From the start they centered themselves towards surviving and getting by so this "freedom of imagination", of dreaming and being as careless as one could be, was never something they had the chance to experience. Tomo's dreams as a child would be mostly about eating their favorite treats or having a warm roof above their head but those were occasional at best. You could say that they had to "grow up" to make it another day and that took away any chance to be a kid like any other. This has made them lose that kind of opportunity to see past some of the cruel reality of life. They are someone that focuses on the future and what takes to get to a better tomorrow, such way of thinking has never allowed them to have that pure and "free" way of seeing things like kids that most people lose when growing up. Most lose it when growing up, Tomo, on the other hand, wasn't able to even have it with everything they were subjected to as a child.
