FOR ME? (neuvillette x gn!reader)
SALUTATIONS. for me?
ADDRESSED. neuvillette (x gn!reader)
STAMP. in which he came back from his trip to qiaoying village and brought a few things for you!
CONTENT. ooc (?), fluff/no-angst, established relationship, possibly cheesy, possible grammar errors, takes place during hustle and bustle quest from the recent lantern rite update!
POST-SCRIPT. here’s my post dedicated to @staarri’s birthday and milestone event — congratulations on your milestone and happy belated birthday to you, zira! furthermore, this fic is inspired by a wriolette fanart made by @/visualkid_n that i saw on my feed !!
LINKS. masterlist / taglist
For a man such as NEUVILLETTE who is as busy as can be and rarely leaves Fontaine, you thought you were in a different universe when your lover first told you that he’ll be going on a trip to Liyue and visit Qiaoying Village. It’s not often to find your lover taking a break from his duties as the Iudex, let alone travel to another nation with his busy schedule, yet here he was.
He tried to invite you really, telling you that he’d like you to come with him and spend time together, but given your schedule, you could only turn him down despite wanting to accept.
And so you spent half a day with your lover away from the nation, often wondering how he is and if he’s not sulking too much about you not being able to come with him. Though, knowing how he is, you’re sure he’ll be alright – he can live in not seeing you for a day.
Take note, it was only half a day.
To your surprise, Neuvillette came back home much earlier than expected, standing by your doorstep with a few bags in hand, his eyes brightening at the sight of you.
“How was your trip?” You asked as you provided him some water for him to drink after he came inside your shared home.
“It was… quite enjoyable, but not as much as I longed for you to be there with me.” He responds softly, thanking you for the drink before taking a sip.
You gave him an apologetic smile, sitting down next to him on the sofa. “Sorry.. I’ll come with you next time when you decide to travel again.” You spoke, before glancing at the numerous items that are placed on the floor. “Though may I ask, what are all these items for?”
Neuvillette placed his cup down, glancing at the items as well before saying casually, “Ah, they’re for you, my dear.”
Come again?
You blinked a few times, staring at your lover as if he just told you the most absurd thing.
“Eh? All of them…?” You clarified.
It didn’t help that the Iudex looked unbothered, as if this is almost nothing for him. “Yes, of course. Why do you look so surprised?” He asks. “I was only thinking of you and how you were while I was away, and I happened to find a lot of things that reminded me of you.”
“Neuvi…” You said, staring down at the bag, still processing the fact that your lover bought so many things in one day just for you. “I do hope you’re aware that you didn’t have to do such things! This is quite shocking for me!” You commented.
He hummed. “I am aware, of course. But I happen to find myself making a few spontaneous decisions that’s inspired from my trip. Do forgive me, my dear, I did miss you after all.”
You could only sigh with a smile of defeat. “Well, it’s not as if I can reject such thoughtful gestures from you, but do go on and tell me more about your trip. How was Qiaoying Village? I read Charlotte's article about Liyue’s tea industry earlier.”
“The trip is quite refreshing. I took the opportunity to try their local spring water, and the aftertaste is much purer than what was delivered to me in Fontaine.” He said with a pleased look.
You find yourself listening intently to him as he goes on about the waters of Liyue, not being able to hide the amused look on your face from how fond he is about tasting water, and it only took a few minutes before he changed the subject to something else.
“Ah, that reminds me, I mentioned earlier that my trip happened to inspire a few spontaneous decisions, and one of them happened to be trying out ceramics.” He explains.
“My, the Iudex trying out ceramics?” You teased, causing his mouth to twitch upwards more.
“It’s quite an interesting activity. I’ve never once thought about how quotidian vessels were crafted until I participated in their very making. Nonetheless, I made something for you.” He adds.
To your shock, Neuvillette brought out a tea set with a design that reminded you of a certain sea creature. Who knew your lover would be amazing at the ceramic arts?
“Neuvi, you made these? For me?” You ask, aweing at the cute design that he made. “They’re so cute! You did such an amazing job, you made it by hand and everything!” You flattered him.
He smiled more from your compliment, placing the tea set down on the coffee table for you to touch and admire his work that he made just for you. “I thought it’d be good to give you this. It’d mean a lot to me if you’d accept.”
“Of course I will! You made this yourself, I couldn’t ask anything more than that.” You replied.
Suddenly, an idea came to your mind. “Tell you what, why don’t we use this for water tasting together when the next delivery arrives?”
“That’ll make me all the more happier, my dear.”

Keeping It Cute (& Dangerous) - Hayato Suo x Reader | Ch. 3
Word Count: 4100
୨ৎ Read me before interacting!
୨ৎ Pairing: Hayato Suo x Reader feat. Haruka Sakura, Akihiko Nirei, Taiga Tsugeura, Mitsuki Kiryu
୨ৎ Warnings: mdni, f!reader, manga spoilers (?), ooc (?), loss of loved one, violence, panic attack, breakdown, slowburn, knives, stabbing, blood/bleeding, broken bones, harassment, survivor's guilt, misunderstandings, fighting, grief, swearing, ptsd – if I’ve missed one, I apologize + please let me know!
୨ৎ Note: I wasn't feeling the original image because I really want this fic to feel real – so, updated it so it looks like a manga panel (˶˃⤙˂˶) Also, remember when I said this would be 4 parts? I lied, haha. Definitely will be longer (ᵕ—ᴗ—)
୨ৎ Keeping it Cute (& Dangerous) Masterlist
“Bunny,” he repeats himself – simple and matter-of-factly. “That’s not my name.” “But you’re just so cute –” Your nose scrunches up at his words, and he laughs as he claps his hands. “Oh! See, you are a bunny!”
This was a situation that you did NOT have on your bingo card.
Sat in between Kiryu, whose name you had just learned, and Tsugeura, whose name you had also just learned, you found yourself cursing the universe for the streak of bad luck that just kept coming.
(They had originally all sat across from you, something you were thankful for – but when you had excused yourself to use the restroom, they thought nothing of it until they saw you fly past the shop windows.
Sakura and Nirei had to drag you back.
You blame your weakness for puppy dog eyes.
… Fun Fact: Nirei was really good at doing puppy dog eyes.)
You just couldn’t understand it – you had apologized for what you did, and they had told you that you did nothing wrong, so why were you still here?
And also – nothing erases the fact that they’re all still so good-looking. Especially Suo.
Ugh, even his name was pretty. So pretty, in fact, that you couldn’t stop repeating it in your head.
You could still feel the ghost of his hand on your shoulder and the warmth of his breath on your ear.
Bunny…
Is that what he thought of you? A harmless, dainty little ball of fur? You’re irritated at the mere idea of being compared to such a powerless animal.
For goodness sake, you had fractured a man’s hand – bunnies don’t do that.
What’s worse – he had continued to call you that stupid nickname the whole walk here. You had ignored him, of course, but it seems that only fueled him more, because he hasn’t let up on the name since then.
How can someone so handsome be so aggravating?
You’re brought out of your thoughts by the sound of a poorly veiled excuse of a cough, and you see that they’re all looking at you expectantly.
“Oh – I’m sorry! Did you say something?”
Sakura lets out a sharp tsk, no doubt still annoyed about earlier, before responding to you.
“We were askin’ for your name.”
Oh.
You don’t mean to, really, but you let out a laugh. It bubbles out of you, unrefined and uncontained, because the situation in its entirety is just so ridiculous. Of course you hadn’t introduced yourself to them because you didn’t think you’d still be talking to them. Or rather, that they’d still be talking to you.
Once your laughter dies down and you’re wiping the stray tears from your eyes, you quickly apologize and introduce yourself.
It’s silent for a second, and then Suo hums and you eye him warily.
“I think I like bunny better,” he concludes, smiling at you.
You shake your head, before correcting him with a forced smile of your own.
“Bunny,” he repeats himself – simple and matter-of-factly.
“That’s not my name.”
“But you’re just so cute –”
Your nose scrunches up at his words, and he laughs as he claps his hands.
“Oh! See, you are a bunny!”
Suddenly, you don’t like him anymore.
You turn to Kiryu, even though you barely know him, because you need support and validation and he looks like the type to run to your aid in times of need. He’s already looking down at you, his eyes thoughtful and sensible and you’re sure that he’ll be the one to put an end to this endless teasing. He’s so reliable, you think. And handsome. And Kind. But now he’s smirking at you and you’re not sure why –
“Kitten! You look like a kitten right now~”
You almost flip the table. Keyword: almost. You are, after all, just a girl – but girls don’t flip tables. No matter how irritated they are. And you know what? You pride yourself on how poised and collected you are in the face of hardship. You are resolute – unbreakable. This is child’s play.
“I don’t think you’re anything like that –” Tsugeura chimes in, and you’re so glad that someone finally sees you for who you are.
Perhaps… perhaps Tsugeura was way more emotionally aware and attuned to others' feelings than you had first thought. You shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, and suddenly, Tsegeura is just so dreamy and handsome and –
“– you’re more like a banana! Banana is my favorite protein flavor, the other fla-”
You slide your hands under the table.
First, you were going to flip this shit. Then, you were going to rock their shit.
“I-I think you’re really cool … and strong!” Nirei interrupts your silent rampage, and you feel the anger dissipate from your body.
You decide then that Nirei is your favorite one from the group, and you grant him a smile – because kindness is supposed to be met with even more kindness. And he was kind, and cute, and sweet, and –
“But … I feel like I’ve heard your name before… I just can’t remember where…,” he mutters, and you watch him pull out a small notebook from his jacket.
You feel your skin prickle at his words, and you quickly ask Kiryu what he’s looking at.
“Ah – he collects information about people –”
Kiryu’s still talking, but you tune him out.
If people from this town knew who your brother was, then you weren’t safe here either.
You watch Nirei flip through his notebook in earnest, and your hands start to get clammy. You had to leave. Whether he found the information he was looking for or not, you didn’t want to stay to find out. You decide that you had entertained them long enough, and it’s when you start to slowly push your chair back that Nirei finds what he’s looking for.
“Aha! I knew your name sounded familiar!” he’s beaming at you as he says your brother's name, and you don’t have it in your heart to ask him to stop.
But then – he’s naming things about your brother like his height and his preferences and his shoe size and you can’t stop the way your eyes are starting to water or the way your hands softly inch towards to stop him.
And everyone’s so enraptured in Nirei’s storytelling, so intrigued by the rumors of your brother and the rumors of you, that no one notices.
It’s only when you gently pull the notebook from his hands that he stops. You’re not mad. Really.
You’re just –
…
You don’t know how you feel.
Through blurry eyes, you skim over the page and you’re surprised at how accurate everything is – but, you find one flaw.
One stupid flaw that you wish wasn’t real, but it was, and reality hurts.
“You need to add that he passed away a year ago,” you say before clumsily handing the notebook back to him – your eyes glued to your lap.
The table falls silent, and you don’t want to look up. You don’t want to look any of them in their eyes or see their expressions of remorse or guilt because, honestly, they didn’t know.
But… But to hang your head low in your brother’s memory was shameful. He deserved to be remembered with your head held high – a smile on your face and pride in your voice. That’s the type of person he was.
“My brother –” you take a deep breath, willing your voice to stop shaking and your hands to stop fidgeting. Kiryu’s hand is on your back, comforting and sweet, and you know that he’s silently telling you not to push yourself – but you press on.
If your brother were here right now, he’d tease you endlessly about how small and frail you look.
But then… he’d flick your forehead and tell you to straighten your spine – because addressing your feelings and your fears head-on is the only way to get stronger.
“He was the one that taught me that I could wear whatever I want, do whatever I want, and be whoever I want – because I’m strong enough to back it up. He made sure of that.”
“He was really famous in our town… Maybe that’s why you’ve heard of him? He protected everyone, just like you guys, and he had this thing he would do where he would call himself –”
“The LION…,” Nirei joins in quietly with you, and you let out a small laugh as you nod.
“Yeah, my brother was the lion and I was the tiger. He was really into stuff like that – said it made us sound cool and intimidating and whatnot. He even had everyone call us that too and I used to hate it because it was so cheesy, but somewhere down the road, it grew on me.”
You’re smiling now, but it isn’t reaching your eyes. You’re trying, though, and they can see that.
“When I fight …,” you pause, and flashbacks start running through your mind.
You remember all the fighting, all the banter, and all the lessons. He was such a flashy person, always trying to take on 15 people at a time just to show how strong he was. But … he was strong. Stupidly strong, and so so smart. He had the mind of a tactician – always planning, always thinking. His strategies rarely failed, and if they did, he took it in stride with a smile on his face and a chip on his shoulder.
“... I feel like he’s right there beside me, giving me pointers on what I could do better and telling me not to mess up my hair too much.”
You missed him – terribly. But, life goes on.
The days pass by, the seasons change, and in some miraculous way – you begin healing.
“I think about him everyday,” you admit, “he was my best friend, my role model, and I knew him like the back of my hand. You’re doing his life’s work, too – and that’s something to be incredibly proud of.”
You look up at them, and though your tears have subsided, there’s still an ache in your chest that you know will only get lighter with time.
“How?”
You flinch at the question, and everyone is quick to scold Sakura but he continues –
“He sounded pretty damn strong, so what happened?”
The question makes sense. Your brother was strong, so how did he, of all people, get killed?
You know that you, yourself, are also an enigma – so you get where he’s coming from. You had moved to Makochi with trauma and issues and history, and it still wasn’t clear if you were a threat or not. It just hurts, you suppose, being perceived like this.
You purse your lips, not because you’re angry at Sakura, but because you’re angry at what you’re about to say.
This part always stung the most.
“My brother… he was well known, even outside of our town, for ending fights and saving people. He was a hero – the town’s hero. But because of his reputation, we had more and more people moving in, and a lot of them had emotional baggage. They –”
Your hands start shaking again, and you have to force yourself to calm down.
“They didn’t know this, and it isn’t their fault, but because of so many people seeking refuge with us, gangs from out of town were putting a target on me and my brother.”
Your breathing is coming out ragged now, and you can feel your body start to heat up with pure anger.
Kiryu’s hand is on your back again, and you’re so grateful for the way it grounds you enough to continue speaking.
“The night that my brother died, he was by himself. We didn’t know that the gangs had reached out to one another to create some sort of compromise, but if we had, then maybe things would be different.”
“I don’t … I don’t know exactly what happened, but when they found him, he was on the outskirts of town with 50 bodies laid out around him and 20 stab wounds… He could’ve been saved, but he lost too much blood because he just kept fighting.”
“I was supposed to be with him that night, but I had a stupid little cold and he told me to stay home and rest. Can you believe that? I was at home, with soup and cough medicine and a runny nose, while my brother was out there dying, and I –”
You don’t realize you’re gasping for air until they’re all telling you to stop, and you finally notice the hot tears running down your face.
Your body stills, and then – you’re quiet.
It takes everything in you to just breathe.
You’re stuck like that for what feels like forever before you’re able to start releasing the tension in your body, but your heart is still racing and your mind is still reeling and –
Sakura breaks the silence.
“... They’re cowards – you don’t bring knives to a fistfight,” he states, plain and simple, and the rest of them are waiting with bated breath and worried eyes as you look up at him and –
You laugh. It’s a bitter laugh, but it’s something, and you see their shoulders drop with relief.
Slowly, your heart returns to a steady rhythm and you’re sure that you’re probably looking a lot better because Kiryu is softly asking where you’re from.
You hesitate, but the name of your hometown falls from your lips – and so do their faces.
“That’s –,” Nirei starts, but Sakura cuts him off.
“Whaddya doin’ all the way over here, then?”
You pause.
“I’m protecting my town – same as you.”
“That … doesn’t seem like much protection – ”
“They're still looking for me – the hit that night was for both of us. They only want me. The town is safe because I’m not there.”
You’re met with silence, and you take that as a queue to wrap this whole thing up. You’ve said far too much than you’d like to admit, and you don’t want to get attached to these feelings and these people and this town.
This was fun. Handsome boys always make good company. But, the sooner you get this over with, the sooner you can move on.
So, you bring your hands together with a soft clap, grabbing their attention as you smile at them.
You drone on about how, despite this being a great fun experience, it’s getting late and you really oughta head back to your apartment now. You’re thanking them for listening to you and for being so nice and caring, but you’ve already taken up so much of their time and you couldn’t possibly keep them out for longer.
You honestly, genuinely think you’re doing pretty good.
What you don’t count on, though, is that they’re getting familiar with your smiles. They’re starting to catch on to which ones are real and which ones aren’t – and the smile you’re giving them now is so guarded and forced and fake that they’re already standing up before you finish your little spiel.
You deflate at their reaction. You weren’t even done.
Sighing, you go to grab your bag before standing up – and they’re quick to gather around until they’re blocking you with their bodies.
“You’re not thinking about leaving town, are you?”
“Of course not! Goodness, why would you even think that?”
You laugh, light and friendly, before trying to step around them. They block you again.
“Look, I’m tired and I want to go home. Please please please let me go home,” you plead, desperate to finally be alone.
“If we visit you tomorrow, you’ll still be there? You won’t be gone?”
You smile again, but your eyes are starting to twitch and your patience is running thin.
“Yes yes yes – I promise I’ll still be there tomorrow.”
What a fucking liar, they think.
You, on the other hand, are getting frustrated because usually nosy people end it at the first question. You’re not at all used to whatever this is, and you’re starting to get worried that perhaps they got too attached to you.
“We’ll walk you home –”
“No need! It’s really not that far!”
Your facade is cracking now, and you’re starting to get antsy. This was too much attention, too much care, and you hadn’t experienced this much clinginess in so long.
Why couldn’t they be more like other towns, who didn’t so much as bat an eyelash when you left because you had caused fights and problems and violence?
“How will we know where to go tomorrow then?”
“Oh – good question! Here, pull out your phones and I’ll give you my contact information.”
They immediately do as you say, but when they look up, you’re fucking gone – halfway out the door by the time they realize it.
You’re booking it, running as fast as you can through alleyways and sharp corners before they even get a clue of where you are.
You’re smiling, pleased with yourself because you won and boys are just so easy.
Finally, you can unwind from the disastrous day you’ve just had and wallow in self-pity and embarrassment to your heart's con–
You run into something hard and firm and tall and handsome and – shit.
Suo’s got his arms wrapped around your waist, strong and secure, and though he’s smiling, you can see how furious he is by the way he’s pressing his lips together.
“It seems my sweet little bunny just keeps getting away.”
You bristle at his words, and for a split second, you consider flipping him out of your way, but his fingers lightly press into your body as a warning and –
“Okay fine, you’ve caught me. Are you happy now?”
You hate how breathless you sound in his arms, but he, on the other hand, is absolutely thrilled. Whether it’s because of your pathetic surrender or because you’re so damn close, you’re not sure.
You place your hands on his chest because, if you’re going to let yourself be held captive by him you might as well enjoy it, and you feel the tiniest flex of his body under your fingertips.
Oh.
Alright – fine. Two can play at this game.
You tilt your head to look up at him, and in the prettiest voice you can muster, you say — “You’re being so mean, Suo.”
All he does is hum at your words, and you flush at the lack of response.
Never… never again.
Maybe you should flip him. It wouldn’t hurt, you think, to get one good jab in. Make him really remember you before you’re gone.
“I honestly think you’re being the mean one here.”
You open your mouth to respond, but he continues.
“If you think leaving is the best thing for you to do right now, then I’ll let you go.”
He drops his arms, and you shiver. You’re not sure if it’s from the breeze or the weight of his words, but you instinctively wrap your hands around yourself.
“You can go to the next town, and then the next one, and then the next one, until you’ve run out of land – and I won’t stop you.”
Your breath catches in your throat, and you look away from his stare. You can’t do this, can’t listen to this, it hurts and your chest is tight and –
“Or, you can stay here a little while longer. You can get to know the town, know the people, and you could find something worth staying and protecting again.”
You're stepping away from him now, your eyes clenched and your hands shaking.
For a year, you’ve had whispers of your brother's voice, sure, and the occasional casual friendships from town to town, but you’ve never ever been spoken to quite like this. You didn’t know words could bruise you like this. You didn’t know the truth could sear into your skin and burn.
You didn’t give anyone the chance to confront you, never stayed long enough to make it worth it, but here he was – stern and honest and real.
You’re scared – no, terrified at the idea that someone like him could see right through you. That he could see through your facade. That he cared enough to say all of this. That he cared enough to try.
You don’t … know what to do. You’re at a crossroads, and although you’d been in this town for a couple of weeks now, this was the first time you were seeing it for what it truly is.
And you’re not sure if you can love another town the way you loved your hometown. You can’t get attached or comfortable — can't stay in one place for too long. You don’t know what could happen to the people here. What if they find you? What happens then? You shouldn’t risk it, a voice rings through your head.
Yeah, yeah you shouldn’t –
Another voice, so quiet and soft that you wouldn’t have even noticed it if you hadn’t been thinking so hard echoes out.
Try. Hope. Trust. Believe. Protect.
You fear that you’re losing your mind, the words so outlandish and foreign that you can’t remember the last time they’ve ever left your mouth.
But then – you remember earlier. The girl you helped. The girl you protected. The protection that Bofurin offered to you. The hope in her eyes. The trust in their eyes. The trust in you.
And suddenly, you’re crying. It’s not a burst, nor is it hot to the touch. It’s a slow, mesmerizing trickle of tears shining with intention and meaning and feelings and you don’t make a move to bottle it up.
Suo sees this, and his lips press together before he continues.
“You’re not alone here… you’re safe.”
He knows.
He knows that it’s important for you to make this decision yourself.
Suo was an observer – he had waited for you to slip up, to show your true self. He couldn’t trust you, not yet. His friends were much more kind, much more optimistic than he was – but he had his doubts.
He watched you with his full attention as you told your story. He saw the way that you caved in on yourself. He witnessed the path of destruction that you were following with a naked eye and a blind heart.
And when you had apologized on your knees for such a small misunderstanding, how could he have stopped himself from helping you up and easing your anxiety?
You had made him concerned. So concerned, in fact, that he saw right through your little trick back at Pothos, and the minute you had bolted, he was already out the door and hot on your trail.
Besides – how could you, someone from out of town, know the streets better than him?
He had chased you twice now.
He doesn’t dwell on this realization too much.
But, if you truly decided it was best for you to leave, he wouldn’t stop you. He was a man of his word, and although deep in his heart he knows you’d be so much happier and safer if you stayed in Makochi, well, he wouldn’t be much of a gentleman if he didn’t respect your wishes.
So he stands there with his hands clasped behind his back, and he waits, and he hopes.
And although you're silent, he can tell you’re reaching some sort of an epiphany because you’re still here. You haven’t run away. You haven’t disappeared.
It isn’t until you’re looking up at him that Suo finally lets out the breath he’d unconsciously been holding in this whole time, but he needs to make sure —
He stares into your eyes for a brief second before visibly relaxing.
Ah. There it is.
Your eyes… They have color again.
It was such a small detail when he first noticed it earlier – back when he had first laid his eye on you.
Your eyes had been blank – they were blank when you were staring at them, blank when you crushed that man’s hand, blank when he had pulled you up from the ground.
But then, when you were holding hands with that girl and reminiscing about your brother, he saw it – brief and fleeting and pretty.
Your eyes, when they’re full of life and hope, are so very pretty.
Your lips are moving, but Suo hasn’t got a clue what you’ve said, and it’s his turn to get flustered now because getting distracted like this is so very unlike him.
“Hm? Sorry bunny – I didn’t quite catch that.”
You pout, his eyes dropping to the way your bottom lip juts out – and now you’ve got his attention. He wishes he was a stronger man, truly.
“I said –,” you pause, the nickname causing your face to warm up and the tips of your ears to bloom a lovely shade of pink, “... I said I’ll stay.”

Lucy should have really been paying attention to her teammates playing earlier today. And she should really be with them now, celebrating their 7-2 win against Austria. Still, she constantly finds herself keeping an eye on the Spain vs Netherlands score during the last minutes.
When Ona scores in the 77th minute, Lucy has to fight the smile that is starting to creep onto her cheeks. She grabs a beer before joining the celebrations, laughing and dancing with the other England players. She loses track of time momentarily, trying to give herself the time to let loose for once. However, the sounds of the England squad celebrating together are drowned out shortly when Lucy feels her phone vibrate in her pocket.
Ona: Back in my room now, call me! x
Lucy mutters an excuse to Lauren James about being tired or wanting to rest for further training tomorrow. Honestly, she’s just saying anything that will allow her to leave the commotion behind so she can talk to Ona.
On her way back to their accommodation, she replies to Ona’s text and lets her know she’ll phone soon. It’s not long before she gets there, settling down on her bed before she promptly presses the FaceTime Video button. It only rings twice before the sound of the call connecting plays. Ona’s smiley face pops up on the screen, looking freshly showered with still-damp hair falling past her shoulders.
“Hi, baby,” Lucy coos, feeling her chest warm as she takes in Ona’s beauty. “Didn’t wanna go join your team to celebrate?” She knew that the Spanish girls loved celebrating their victories, Ona being no exception to the tradition.
Ona loves football, she loves Spain, and she loves representing her country. But above everything, at this point in her life, she loves Lucy and their blossoming relationship.
“Hi, my love,” Ona returns the greeting, “I joined them for a drink. But I wanted to talk to you. And shower, obviously” She runs a hand through her hair, pushing it out of her face. Lucy can tell that Ona had had more than ‘a drink’ from her giggly manner, but she decides not to push the topic.
“Well, I saw that a certain someone scored tonight,” Lucy coolly says as if she wasn’t glued to her phone the entire time, keeping herself updated as much as she could without getting caught out by teammates. Ona could feel the happiness in Lucy’s voice and the twinkle in her eye that somehow managed to shine through the quality of the video call.
“I scored, I assisted, and I got player of the match. Thank you very much,” Ona gasps, using a mock tone of arrogance to wind her girlfriend up. Lucy rolls her eyes and breathes a laugh in response, completely used to Ona’s antics by now.
“Mhm, you did so well tonight. I’m proud of my girl,” Lucy praises Ona, being met with a shy giggle. Ona loves getting referred to as Lucy’s girl, even on a non-sexual level. Something about knowing that they belong together makes Ona’s heart swell.
“You know I find it so hot when you score. Wish I could have been there to celebrate with you,” Lucy finds herself hating the distance again, wanting to feel Ona’s body under her, feel her warmth next to her. She just wants to spend time with Ona and share the happiness of her win.
Both of them hated any sort of distance between them — it always brought about a painful reminder of when they first started talking. They had fallen into a habit of never spending a night apart, going back and forth between each other's apartments.
“I know, but the international break will be over before you know it, and then we can celebrate together,” Ona giggles shyly, knowing their usual ritual of rewarding each other when one scores or plays exceptionally well.
“Who says we can’t celebrate over the phone?” Lucy suggests, raising an eyebrow at Ona. Phone sex wasn’t a completely foreign concept to them, the two having previously done long distance. It had helped them back then, but it had also been a while since they indulged in the act.
“Lucy!” Ona half-jokingly scolded her girlfriend and her dirty mind. She tried to ignore her body’s physical reaction but couldn’t help the heat rising to her cheeks at the idea.
“I’m serious. You deserve to feel good,” Lucy felt smug seeing Ona blush at her suggestion. “Just a shame I can’t be there to be the one to do it for you.”
Ona feels her stomach tighten at the thought of touching herself over the phone to Lucy. Just knowing that either of their teammates could catch them enhanced her excitement.
Lucy immediately picked up on Ona’s reaction, the telltale signs that her girlfriend was getting turned on. Ona licked over her bottom lip before sucking it in between her teeth, her eyes averting their gaze as her mind wandered. A deeper blush rose under the constellation of freckles that marked her cheeks and nose.
“Yeah? You’re into that, aren’t you; you want me to tell you exactly how to fuck yourself?” Lucy’s voice pulled Ona from her daydream, poking fun at the girl's speechlessness. Ona rolled over, groaning and planting her face into the pillow to hide her embarrassment. Lucy waited for Ona to stop being a giggling mess and reply to her question.
“Yessss,” She confesses, bringing her phone back to her face. Lucy has the cockiest smirk on her face, no doubt being pleased with herself for getting such a rise out of Ona with just a few words.
“Good. I wanna hear how needy you get when you’re about to cum,” Lucy readjusts herself in bed, sitting up to lean back on the pillows. “Think you can do that for me?”
“Please,” Ona whines, “Need to touch myself. Wanna cum for you,” She squeezes her thighs together, desperate for any relief from the growing pulse between her legs.
“Not yet. Show me them perfect tits first,” Lucy licks her lips. Lucy was obsessed with Ona’s body, her boobs being far up the list of her favourite parts of Ona. They were her top place to mark, leaving bruises and love bites as little reminders to Ona of who she belonged to.
Ona drops her phone and quickly pulls her shirt over her head to show Lucy her bare chest. Her nipples perk up when they meet with the cool air of the room. Ona grabs her phone again, leaning her chest into the camera for Lucy to see.
“I miss your mouth on them,” Ona says as she cups her hand against the ample flesh, squeezing herself into the camera. There’s a shuffle on the other end of the FaceTime call as Lucy struggles to slide her trousers down with one hand. She manages to kick off the sweatpants and spread her legs out to give herself more room.
“You’re so perfect. Play with your nipples for me,” Lucy’s voice is deep, commanding Ona. Ona obliges quickly, making a show of tweaking and rubbing her nipples in front of the camera.
“Fuck, Ona,” Lucy moans, squeezing her thighs together at the view of Ona’s chest through the call. Ona brings her hand to her mouth, sucking on her fingers and making eye contact with the camera.
The visual sent a pang of pleasure racing to Lucy’s pussy. Ona’s warm eyes lock onto hers through the screen as she continues to suck greedily on her fingers, humming slightly before pulling them out.
Ona tilts her phone towards her chest again, bringing the saliva to one of her nipples and rubbing over it. She arched her back into the touch, the slickness intensifying her pleasure. As her smooth fingers rub and flick against herself, Ona pictures that they’re Lucy’s tongue. She groans, moving her hand over to the other side, knowing how much Lucy enjoyed taking her time with each nipple.
“Just like that,” Lucy groaned, sending a hand down to her crotch to push against her clit. She clenches her jaw, the pressure getting slowly relieved. She starts circling over the sensitive area, not bothering to remove her underwear.
“I miss you so bad. Wanna watch your tits bounce as I fuck you into the mattress,” Ona shakes her chest at the screen, tweaking a nipple between her pointer and middle finger again.
“I’m so wet for you,” Ona whined, showing Lucy her hand trailing lower, resting at the waistband of her underwear. Lucy can just about make out a small darkened patch on Ona’s underwear, the visual evidence of how desperate Ona is to touch herself.
“Play with your clit for me,” Ona is eager to obey, her fingers sliding under the fabric quickly to meet the growing heat. She rubs through the pooling wetness, her hips bucking up to meet the touch.
“Joder. I need you,” Ona bites back at the noises threatening to come out of her mouth as she creates tight circles around her throbbing clit, already eager for more.
“Wanna see you,” Lucy commands, “Take off your panties and show me.” Ona fumbles with the material, sliding it down past her thighs, then her knees, finally letting the garment fall onto the floor.
Ona spreads her thighs wider, showing Lucy the glimmering arousal between her legs. She uses two fingers to spread her pussy open, her clit and hole on show. Her hips involuntarily buck towards the camera, begging for friction.
“I wanna hear how good it feels, baby,” Ona bites down on her bottom lip. One of her fingers rubs up the wetness travelling up to slowly teasing the tip of her clit.
“I’m scared the other girls will hear,” She kept her voice low, half listening out in case anyone were to walk in on her in this compromising position.
“Don’t care. Let ‘em know that you’re mine. Let ‘em know that I own your cunt.” Lucy’s blunt tone causes Ona to let out a guttural moan, feeling her pussy throbbing against her fingers in response.
“Finger yourself – think about how good I fuck you,” Lucy continues to rub herself, feeling the wetness growing as she watches Ona, the camera focusing on her abdomen and pussy.
“No one could ever fuck me as good as you,” Ona mewls, bucking into her hand as she pushes a single finger into herself. It’s not enough. She misses the feeling of Lucy’s strong hands gripping her chest, her hips, and her legs. She misses Lucy’s warm mouth exploring her body and sucking on her, leaving wet trails down her abs and between her thighs.
“Wish I was there, filling up your perfect pussy with my fingers,” Lucy growls, feeling possessive over Ona’s pussy and her orgasms. Even though Lucy isn’t physically there to make Ona cum, she still maintains control by instructing Ona on exactly how to pleasure herself.
“Need more,” Ona pants into the phone, tilting it to look at Lucy for permission. Her eyes are wide as she pleads, feeling her pussy flutter, greedily to be filled up, desperate to be pounded into.
“Add another finger – stretch yourself out for me,” Lucy commands, Ona letting her head fall back into the pillows at the pleasure of the subtle stretch of adding a finger.
“You’re so good for me, baby. Keep fucking yourself,” Lucy encourages Ona, closely watching as she follows every order. Lucy strokes a finger through her own wetness before pushing in and out of herself, curving her finger against her sensitive spots as she does so.
“I’m close,” Ona cries out, her thighs beginning to weaken and shake, “Need to cum so bad,” She draws her words out, moans getting caught in her throat as the pressure builds.
“Don’t cum,” Lucy demands, rubbing herself quicker before adding, “Not yet. Be a good girl and wait for me.” Lucy clenches her jaw, focusing on Ona’s body, picturing how Ona would feel underneath her. Lucy’s fingers pick up their pace, and the lewd sounds echoing through the phone drive the coil in her abdomen to tighten.
“Please,” Ona whimpers, begging as she can feel her orgasm threatening to boil over. She feels dizzy, her mouth opening and panting as she urges her body to not cum, no matter how close she is. Something about obeying Lucy by exactly doing what the older woman tells her to makes everything feel more intense.
“Fuck, okay, I’m getting close too,” Lucy groans, her arm straining to fuck herself faster. She can feel her abdomen tightening, the melodic sounds of Ona whining as she forces herself to wait for Lucy to allow her to finish.
“I can’t hold it anymore,” Ona is needy, her fingers slowing to stop herself from teetering over the edge. She pulls out of herself, dragging her fingers up to tease gentle circles around only the tip of her clit. It’s just enough pressure to keep herself right on the edge of her climax.
“Shit. Cum for me,” Lucy says just before she lets herself reach her peak. Ona whines loudly down the phone, grinding against her hand and letting her orgasm wash over her. It’s not perfect. Ona falls over the edge first, letting Lucy’s name fall from her mouth, voice breaking with whimpers and the sheer pleasure washing over her body.
Ona already knows she’s making a mess of the bedsheets, but it feels too good, the slick warmth dripping down the soft flesh of her inner thighs as she cums on her own hand.
The sight of Ona’s blissful face and flexing muscles pushes Lucy to cum. The mess of hair, her head falling back, jaw slack. Lucy thrusts into her hand hard, thinking about Ona taking her dick, thinking about Ona’s fluttering pussy cumming around her strap. Her hips lift off the bed, shuddering and slowing down as she works herself through the orgasm.
When Lucy looks back to her phone, she can see Ona’s wide eyes watching her, admiring the view of her coming down from her high. Lucy chuckles slightly, taking in Ona’s dropped jaw and the fire in her eyes.
“You good?” Lucy clears her throat before questioning Ona, noticing the girl chewing on her bottom lip. Ona looks shy, almost guilty. Ever since the two had been living in Barcelona together, phone sex had been a thing of the past. Sure, the two had exchanged steamy messages now and then, but they had done nothing as explicit as this for a while.
“Mmm, I’m fine.” She pauses for a beat, looking to be unsure, before continuing, “It’s just never as good as when you do it,” Ona confesses, trying to ignore the motion of Lucy’s lips curling up into a smug smile at the comment.
“Don’t worry. I’m gonna fuck you so good when we’re back together,” Lucy promises. “I’ll have to make up for lost time.” Lucy is already fantasising about being back with Ona, the things that she wants to do with her- to her.
“Oh yeah? Is that so?” Ona takes her bottom lip between her teeth, feeling her body heat up in response to Lucy’s words again.
“Mhmm, can’t wait to bend you over my lap. Play with your pussy and show you exactly how well you deserve to be fucked.” Lucy looks down at Ona through the phone, her eyelids heavy and eyes dark with lust once more. Ona clenches her jaw, feeling her heart beat harder at the thought.
“Stop. You’re gonna get me all worked up again,” Ona whines, bringing a hand over her face to hide the evident embarrassment.
“What? Horny little baby needs to cum again already?” Lucy teases Ona, knowing that it is rare for Ona to only cum once. Lucy liked to tease Ona about being a greedy bottom, but she would be lying if she said she didn’t enjoy Ona’s high sex drive.
“You say that like it’s not your fault!” Ona said in a pointed tone; she couldn’t not blame Lucy when she said things like that. Of course she is going to get a reaction out of Ona by doing so.
“Not my fault that my girlfriend is talented as well as insanely hot? Yeah, I’d say I agree with that,” Lucy jokes, releasing a breathy laugh. Ona rolls her eyes at Lucy and brings the conversation back to where she wanted it.
“Go on then, what else are you gonna do to me?” Ona beckons before letting her hand slip back between her legs. Her swollen clit twitches from the light touches of fingers running through the remnants of her prior orgasm.
“I wanna kiss every inch of you, worship that beautiful body of yours,” Lucy let her voice drop an octave once more, a thick lust dripping from her voice. Ona’s jaw slackens as her fingers quicken across her clit. Choked-out whines echo from Lucy’s phone, Ona pressing against herself desperately.
“Gonna lick and suck your tits,” Ona flashed the camera back to her chest again, shaking her breasts at Lucy and letting them bounce slightly.
“I’d take my time, biting and nipping at all your favourite spots.” Lucy’s tongue ran over her bottom lip, picturing the marks she’d leave down Ona’s torso, the subtle flex of Ona’s abs under her lips as she did so. “Then I’ll rub my cock against your pussy, teasing until you’re just a needy mess, begging to be filled by me,” Lucy lists her actions, paying close attention to Ona and her reactions.
“Need that so bad. I wanna be so full of you,” Ona pushes two fingers inside herself, immediately finding her sweet spot. Her arm pumped into herself as her head fell back, picturing the feeling of Lucy’s strap pounding into her.
“I wanna make your tight little pussy cum all over my dick and then have you suck me off.” Lucy keeps up her dirty talk, watching as Ona rolls her hips upwards to meet the thrusts of her hand.
“Wanna be good for you,” Ona begs submissively, urging Lucy to go on. Every word that comes out of the phone’s speaker sends pleasure bolting directly to Ona’s core.
“I’d have you clean up all your juices off me. Then, I’d reward you and eat your cunt out,” The words coming out of Lucy’s mouth are beyond filthy, but, God, they’re sending Ona’s body and mind reeling.
“Luce, keep going. I’m close,” Ona’s voice cracked, the desperation in her voice seeping through the words. Ona bucks her hips into her hand, feeling her clit rub against the palm of her hand as her fingers pump against the soft tissue. Ona is keening at the delicious stretch when she pushes a third finger into herself.
“Gonna cum for me, baby? Gonna moan out and let everyone know who your pussy belongs to?” Lucy encourages Ona, watching her eyebrows furrow with her rapidly approaching climax. Ona’s breathing quickens, her chest raising and falling with speed.
“Fuck, Lucy,” Ona groaned, the words coming out louder than she had planned. “Cumming,” Ona manages to squeak out before her head falls back into the pillows, a string of curse words falling from her lips. She rocks her hips into her hand, fucking herself through her orgasm.
Ona pants, trying to regain her breath as she comes down from her orgasm. It takes a moment for her body to calm, goosebumps rising from the contrast of her hot skin and the cool air of the room.
“Look at you,” Lucy praises Ona, admiring the sweat shining on her forehead and dopey eyelids, heavy with bliss. “Feeling good?”
“Mmm, feeling great,” Ona murmurs, curling up on the bed and pulling the covers over herself to get comfortable.
“I love you, and I’m so endlessly proud of you,” Lucy confesses, letting a wide smile spread across her face.
“I love you, too. See you soon, okay?” Ona mumbles sleepily.
“Never soon enough,” Lucy pouted, “Goodnight, angel.”

Chapter 79: Moon Tea
Aemond stayed true to his word.
For days, you frequented the Gardens alone, and found that your peace was neither disturbed by the King or your husband. It gave you a reprieve and the chance to breathe away from it all.
A chance to collect yourself, to gather the pieces that had been violently scattered across the earth below.
And with those days, you sat where you usually did and attempted to read the mountain of books and stories that were piled high in your shared chambers, courtesy of Aemond. Some being novels that you had read already, others being new ones that the Prince thought might spark interest.
You had to begrudgingly admit, that he was right.
The books that he left you did spark interest, if only you got through the first few pages before being unable to read further. Your attention span had dwindled, and even though you believed Aemond when he said he would keep the King away from you, any noise, any presence of someone walking past, a knight or servant or Lord, you would still flinch, and your heart would race in your chest.
But still, Aegon had not been seen for days, and Aemond had been kind.
When you woke that morning, the young Prince had been curled around you as he usually was, awake far earlier than you, but content to let you sleep for if only moment more. It was a routine that the two of you had fallen heavily into.
He would rise with the sun as he always did, and watch over you as you slept, tucked to his chest as a lazy hand would rub soft and featherlike fingertips across your skin, desperate to touch you, yet not wanting to wake you up.
And you were thankful for it.
For Aemond’s time away in Harrenhal left little time to sleep, or breathe, or feel safe. Aegon’s attack adding to further lack of sleep or calm, and in a shocking turn of events, you had all three in Aemond's clutches.
You had wriggled in his hold, and the One-Eyed Prince hummed, pressing a lingering kiss atop the crown of your head. A gesture that you had previously only gotten from your mother or father.
When you were both dressed and seated at the table, the maids had brought in your breakfast for the both of you. The usual of meats, eggs and fruit, and todays warm bread, whose crust crackled under your excited hands, had olives kneaded throughout.
You ate together, enjoying the way the soft sponge of the bread had subtle sour bursts of flavour when a hidden slice of olive was revealed to your waiting mouth. It was different, and it was something that you decided in that moment that you liked.
Joanna placed your tea in front of you, and you thanked her softly, pulling the small glass pot of honey towards you as you put two heaping serves into the steaming brew. As you stirred the tea, Aemond watched you with an inquisitive eye before speaking, your spoon clinking against the side of the china.
“What are your plans for the day?” He asked, watching as you brought the teaspoon to your lips to lick the remnants of the honey off, sweetness coating the roof of your mouth before placing it back onto the matching saucer.
“I was going to go for a stroll through the Garden, then perhaps make my way to the Library.” You picked up the steaming tea and brought it to your lips, blowing the steam away.
“I will be joining you today.”
You brought the unsipped tea away from your lips, “Oh? But haven’t you your duties to attend to?”
“I have a duty to my wife.” His eye was focused on you, “And so I have freed my day to spend it with you.”
Freed his day?
Your stomach turned, but for what reason, you did not know.
You nodded stiffly, bringing the tea to your lips to sip, tasting the tart, minty tea move hotly down the back of your throat. You blinked, a spark of familiarity bursting on your tongue.
“And what shall we do on this fine day?” You asked him, hot tea in your hands still as you looked out to the window.
The sun was high in the sky, and there was not a cloud in sight in Kings Landing. There was no looming storm, or brusque winds. It looked to be a beautiful day.
“It’s a surprise.”
Anxiety was what you felt.
Surprise.
You sipped at the tea again, eyebrows drawn as you tried to figure out why the tea you had been drinking so frequently suddenly tasted oddly familiar.
“Are we going to see Vermithor?” You asked, knowing that you would not.
But you so desperately wished to see him. You so desperately wished to fly again. To be by his side. To feel his bond and connect again. To assure him that you were okay. To soar high amongst the clouds, to feel free, to feel you again.
Aemond did not respond, and let the chambers bask in the silence of his answer.
No.
You looked down and placed the tea back on the table, moving to take a star fruit onto your plate, cutting it up to eat. Aemond watched you the whole time, no longer using your hands to tear the flesh apart, and instead using the sharp knife and fork.
“Perhaps,” Aemond began, watching your reaction, “I could take you to fly upon Vhagar’s back.”
You swallowed thickly, heart beating against your ribs, hands tightening around the cutlery.
Vhagar.
Arrax.
Lucerys.
Dracarys.
“I think I am perfectly content on the ground, thank you.” You grit out.
You did not want to be anywhere near Vhagar.
You lifted the tea to help wash down the tart star fruit which seemed to have gone bad in your mouth, its sticky flesh stuck in the back of your throat.
As the steaming brew washed over your taste buds you froze again. Why was it so familiar? Tart. Minty. A hint of honey. Aemond’s eye was no longer on you, instead sheepishly looking down at his plate as he cut through a thick slice of sausage.
Familiar.
“Please Princess, you must drink the tea.” The Dowager Queen had said quietly, the Maester beside you looking with clinical eyes, the colour from them seemingly gone, and nothing but a blank mask upon his face.
You took another sip, letting the brew settle upon your tongue. Minty. Tart. Almost earthy in its flavour, and yet as you took another trying sip it all came together. Aemond placed some meat into his mouth to chew, eye looking back up at you.
It was familiar.
And now you knew why.
Moon Tea.
It was Moon Tea.
They were giving you Moon Tea.
You sipped deeply on the tea in hand, draining the last of the dregs into your eager and waiting mouth.
It was Moon Tea.
They were giving you Moon Tea.
You placed the tea cup back down on the table as you looked at your husband.
Was he giving you Moon Tea?
Was this his doing?
You moved to open your mouth and ask him, but stopped.
Aemond, would never give you Moon Tea. Aemond would never prevent his seed from taking. Because Aemond had done nothing but tell you of his desires for an heir and watching you grow with his child.
You placed a small cut of star fruit into your mouth and chewed in thought.
Could it be them?
Could it be the King?
Was this another part of Aegon to spite his brother?
Or was this Alicent or Otto’s doing?
No.
The Greens needed an heir to support the treaty and solidify it.
As Aemond began to finish his meal, the maids entered the chambers to collect the plates and empty cups, Joanna’s eyes flitting to the empty tea cup.
She was checking if it had been drunk.
The maids.
The maids had been giving you Moon Tea.
But surely the maids were not doing it of their own volition, after all they barely know you, and if either were caught giving you such a thing, both would be killed for treason.
Aemond stood to move about the room, collecting some tomes on the side table.
But only Maesters, woods witches and brothel mistresses were skilled in making the tea.
The Maester.
Aemond came back over to you, books in hand. His pale fingers were wrapped tightly around a pile of three, a familiar black leather bound book that was broken on the top. Aemond looked at you and waited for you to stand.
You stood on shaky legs, mind reeling.
The Maester and maids were giving you Moon Tea.
You had allies.
Kepa.
You bit the sides of your cheeks to stop the smile that attempted to wind up your face, and blinked away the tears that had begun to tickle at your eyes.
Your mother and father had eyes on you.
The two of you walked down to the gardens together, the sun beaming warmth on the two of you. You led the way to your favourite spot, and Aemond followed, moving to sit at the small table that sat in the centre of the space.
The Targaryen Prince placed the three tomes in the centre of the table before turning to look at you.
“The road ahead of us is not easy.” Your uncle began, voice crisp, “But I intend to pave the path with good intentions.”
Aemond kept his violet eye on you, the sun brightening the sapphire orb beside it.
Road?
“If you will let me.” He finished, waiting for your response.
Your mouth felt dry.
“And what road do you speak of?” You spoke slowly, unsure.
Behind Aemond, a group of servants came towards you, silver and gold trays in hand.
You looked at Aemond, brows furrowed, before back at the servants, who began to place trays of food atop the table around the books.
Atop the silver and gold trays were cakes and pastries of all kind, rolls of puffed custard, buns with cinnamon and biscuits, all piled high and far too much for the two of you. Some more familiar, the others new to you.
On one tiny china dish in particular, sat two lemon tarts.
“Aem, stop!” You giggled, rushing towards your uncle as he snuck into the Keeps Kitchen, small hands grabbing piles of freshly baked lemon tarts in his own.
“They’re your favourite!” The young boy hushed, grabbing more than his hands could hold, tucking them into his arms before turning to face you, violet eyes dancing in mischief and cheeks blush red.
“Shh! If the Septa-“ You began, smile cracking wider on your face as you turned to look around the darkened kitchen as a noise caught the both of your attention.
Footsteps echoed down the hall, and Aemond’s eyes widened, one hand flying out to grab yours, a single lemon tart falling to the floor between you before he was pulling you with him towards a secret path, winding down the corridors.
Your hand flew to your lips as you giggled, half running with your uncle into a dark secret passage, hidden behind a stone door covered in a painting of two lovers entertained, fire ablaze around them.
As you ran through the corridor and through the passage, two more tarts were lost on your escape, falling to the cold stone floors, forgotten by the two young children who had stolen them.
Loud laughter pealed from the both of you as you heaved in breaths, Aemond’s hands holding the crushed tarts to his robes, sticky crumbs stuck to his green robes in the dark.
“There is a thief amongst us!” You exclaimed, nothing but joy rising in you.
“No such thing.” Aemond responded defiantly, teeth showing in his wide grin.
“Well, give me the spoils then.” You giggled, greedy hand reaching outwards towards Aemond, who still held the tarts nestled against his chest by singular arm.
But only two remained.
Aemond’s small hand lifted a crushed tart and held it out to you, smiling.
You turned to look at Aemond, “Lemon tarts?”
“I remember them being your favourite.” He hummed.
You could not stop the smile that teased your lips.
“I remember you stealing them from the kitchens.” You teased.
“And I remember you asking me to.”
You moved to sit at the table, spiced Dornish wine being poured into seperate goblets for the two of you. Aemond followed and sat opposite, back stiff as it always was. The man seemed to have a permanent stick up his spine, posture exactly like his mother.
They were more alike than either would likely think.
“I did no such thing.” You responded contritely.
“Hm.”
The two of you sat together and nibbled at the plates of treats, sipping from your wines as he reached across the table, picking up the broken leather tome to hand you ‘The Fourteen Flames’.
There was an undeniable shift between the two of you.
Aemond could be an ally.
Not only had the One-Eyed Prince stepped away from his duties for the day, he had arranged for desserts of all kinds to be brought to the two of you. He had brought three of your favourite books to read together.
And he had brought lemon tarts.
You took the book from Aemond and flicked it open at the start, not knowing where you had gotten up to the last time, barely reading the words on the pages, instead thinking about what was to come and what was required of you.
The two of you nibbled and read in parallel with each other, a silent affair, if not for the soft chewing, sips, or the turning of pages. On occasion, Aemond would hum as he read, and you could not help your gaze from rising to look at him.
You let yourself observe him, if not truly for the first time since your arrival, in a way that was undisturbed or clouded by rage.
The soft round cheeks that Aemond once had, had melted away from his face, revealing sharp and high cheekbones that hollowed his face. The nose that had once been buttoned and sloped, had now grown aquiline, pointed, and angled, sharp to match the rest of his features.
You remembered that if the days were humid, or if he had spent much time training, his hair would become wavy and frizz, the volume doubling, much like his mothers.
As a child Aemond had shoulder length hair, that he always wore in the same style, until recently. Today, his hair was pulled backwards from the sides, braided and pulled into a singular, long braid at the back of his head, the rest of his silver locks laying flatly on his back.
A ray of light shone on one side of the man, and his silver hair seemingly glowed from the light. As though it held light itself. As though it was created for it. For Valyrian blood carried these Godly aspects, and for the first time, you looked at him and realised what it may be like for someone of non-Valyrian descent to gaze upon you.
It looked heavenly.
Godly.
Pure.
Was this how he saw you?
Was this how the realm saw you all?
Was this why you were said to be closer to Gods than man?
The longer you looked, the more you noted about your husband.
His lips were plumb, a soft pink, and curled lightly up at the sides, as though he was always smirking or on the verge of smiling. His lips, which you had seen sneer, and grin, and frown at you, naturally tilted upwards. And you were stuck with the knowledge that they were soft.
Then there was his eye.
As children, you had loved his eyes. The way they had expressed so much, had shown so much, without the need for words. You could tell when he was younger if he was upset or excited, and despite how hard he would argue that he was neither, you always just knew. The bright violet would light up when you were near, and the two of you would excitedly talk for hours. And as he has grown, the violet seeing eye had stayed the same.
Ever telling of his moods and desires.
But now, a large scar cut through his cheek, and the secondary eye you had loved as a child was lost, and replaced with a sapphire orb. A colour which you had once loved, the colour of the night sky when the stars lit the realm, the colour of Forget-Me-Nots in Spring, or Gentians in the late days of Summer, or even, now that you looked at it longer, the colour of blue Monkshood, flowers you knew to grow towards the North.
Sapphire had once been a colour that marked the flowers bloom for you, the stars and their tales, but now it marked a time of change. The eye that was lost was replaced, and so was that part of Aemond.
With the loss of the young boys eye came the embodiment of the deep and grotesque scarring. The violence, the anger, the rage, and the spite. With the loss of his eye, came the Aemond that he had grown to be.
Scarred. Tortured. Angry.
Riddled with sorrow, animosity, and cynicism.
And over the few days having been spent together, and the tension slowly bleeding away from the two of you, you came to realise that there were still small parts of Aemond inside that you remembered.
Still holding on.
Still lingering.
The Prince’s seeing eye was a reminder of what was, and his missing one a reminder of what is.
One violet eye. Your memories of youth together.
The sapphire orb. The new memories created.
Good and bad, both there upon his face.
Both there within him.
A man of complexity that even you were still trying to understand.
But he had changed.
His demeanour towards you had changed.
Always you.
I love you.
Aemond was not the only one who had changed either. You had changed too. The scars on your body were similar to his eye. A reminder of what has happened. A reminder of change.
A reminder of what has been lost.
Visual representations of the people that you had turned out to be.
And if you continued to play your cards right, if you continued to slowly gain his trust, if you continued to slowly get him to come to your side, to follow your every beck and call, to carry out his word own doing anything for you, he could help you.
Do anything for you.
Kesan tepagon ao tolvie run.
I will give everything to you.
It was slow work, tedious, and something that could not be rushed. Go too fast in creating the bond, and he would know something was amiss. He would know that you were not sincere in your affections or intentions.
He would know.
For Aemond was a smart man, cunning, clever. As he always had been.
But you had been working to his strengths, and his weaknesses, as well as your own, and finally, the fruits of your labour were beginning to show.
Though there was a shadow of doubt that continued to linger in the back of your mind.
Was he manipulating you the way you were him?
Was he aware?
For if he was, he did not show it. But after recent events, the matching black robes, his violence towards Aegon, his disdain being voiced aloud, you knew that you were succeeding in what you had known would be a long, and lengthy process.
Aemond was already a suspicious man. Untrusting. And it would take time. And time is what you had. He would take from you, and you would take in return.
“What are you thinking?” His voice pulled you from your thoughts.
You felt your cheeks blush and you cleared your throat, looking down.
He had caught you staring.
“How different you have become.” You replied, looking back to his violet eye.
Aemond hummed and placed the book he had been reading back into his lap, closing it shut, and you mirrored him, shutting the busted tome in your own.
“You have… grown into a man.” You continued.
“And you, a woman.”
His gaze was so intense, the way he looked at you made your heart skip a beat. His pupil almost swallowed his iris whole, and the lid of his eye was half closed, looking at you from under his lashes.
Looking at you with intent.
With desire.
Hungrily.
Ravenously.
You looked away, eyeing the untouched lemon tarts on the side of the table. Neither of you making the first move to eat them, instead nibbling at all the other treats around them. You even dared to eat a rhubarb tart, which flavours were not favoured by your tastebuds.
Aemond followed your gaze, and reached for the small plate, lifting it across the table and offering it to you.
You took the tart from Aemond’s waiting hand. The darkness of the passage shrouding the both of you, a small sliver of light streaming in from an open hole on the side, shining moonlight onto the older boys hair.
The young Prince smiled brightly at you as you bit into the tart, watching you with excited violet eyes as you hummed, enjoying the sour and sweet pastry. But the young Prince did not move to eat his tart, and instead, Aemond held it in his hand as he watched you devour yours.
Crumbs covered your lips as you licked them clean, swiping up the lemony custard away from your lips. The young Prince’s eyes darted to your mouth, if only for a moment. A warmth spread through his body and a blush rose on his cheeks, though you could not see it in the dark.
“They are so much better when they’re fresh.” You had grinned, chewing loudly as Aemond tried his best to not laugh at his niece who ate more like a wild animal than a Princess, but he still did not move to eat it with you.
“Aren’t you going to eat your spoils, Aem?” You had teased, confused as to why the older Prince had not moved to eat the treat that he had stolen.
A pause.
He was thinking.
Aemond slowly moved his arm, tart in hand towards you, and offered you his wordlessly.
A shy smile replaced the once excited one on his lips.
You blinked at Aemond and reached across the table to grasp a tart, putting it on your plate.
Aemond’s hand lingered between the table, unsure of whether to take the plate back to himself, which he eventually did, picking up the fresh tart and placing it upon his own plate.
You stared at each other uncertainly, waiting for the other to begin. And when Aemond made no move after a few moments past, you picked up a small fork and pressed down into the centre of the tart, cutting it in half, and then half again. Aemond watched with a keen eye as you brought it up to your lips to chew.
The sweetness of the tart spread across your tongue, subtle hints of lemon mixing with the pastry. You could not help the smile that spread on your lips, eyes closing as you savoured what had been a favoured treat in your youth.
“They are so much better when fresh.” You spoke, watching Aemond slowly cut into his own, though not lifting it to his mouth.
“Are you not going to eat yours?” You asked, watching as he seemed to enjoy observing you eat.
Aemond smirked, his eye roaming slowly up and down your body, “My tastes are more inclined to things that are sweet.”
You blushed, heat rising in your cheeks.
Aemond was flirting.
Warm spread through your body as you shifted, rubbing your thighs together, “I think you also like the bite that comes with it…. The lemon, of course.” You said coyly, a small smirk of your own spreading on your lips.
“Truthfully, lemon tarts have never been favoured by me.”
“But you used to always eat them as a child.” You argued, brows furrowed, “You would steal large piles of them in the Kitchens for me and-“
Oh.
Aemond gave you a small, shy smile, though it short lived before he picked up his plate, and offered it across the table to you, tart cut in half, untouched beyond that.
Uneaten.
"Here." The young Prince handed you his tart in the dark, small smile on his lips.
"Are you sure, Aem?" You had asked, hand hovering in the air between you.
"Take it." He smiled.
An offering that you took.
“I thought you liked them.” You said, almost feeling guilty.
“I liked them because you did.”
-
That night you lay in bed beside Aemond, curled against him to sleep, the heat of his body radiating around you. You shifted, trying to get comfortable, rolling over to face your back to him as you closed your eyes.
The day had been good.
You had spoken without vitriol, ate sweets, and read together. You had walked around the Gardens, purposely avoiding the spot where the Monkshood grew, before you both had stopped at the Godswood, looking up at its bright red leaves.
Aemond had moved to sit beneath it, but it was too much for you. Too normal. Too familiar, and you had lowered your head and walked back to the chambers, leaving a confused silver haired Prince behind. You ate dinner together quietly, and thanked him for spending the day with you, for the lemon tarts, for the walk, with a list you had compiled in your head, and he had given you a small hum in response.
When you were readied for bed, he had not looked at you, nor had he moved to touch you like he usually did. And instead, let you crawl into bed first, and then him a while after. Writing hunched over a parchment and singular candle light before joining you.
The hour was late, and your eyes had grown heavy, lulled by his even breathing and the warmth that he brought in the otherwise cozy chambers.
Two large hands gripped your waist as you had rolled, pulling you back against him.
Aemond, you quickly realised, craved physical touch. Searched for it wherever he went. Sought it out in you. Even if it was the barest of grazes of a finger on your arm, a hand through your hair. His hand in yours. Your body wrapped around his.
Aemond craved it, and sought it out from you frequently, and you let him.
The thin chemise that you wore did little for your modesty as you felt Aemond’s hardening cock press into the flesh of your ass. You shifted, feeling heat bloom within you at his arousal, rubbing backwards against him.
Aemond sighed, thrusting slowly up against you as one hand held your stomach, pulling you back on him, the other worming its way beneath your head, reaching out to grip the hand that had rested beneath it.
Long fingers intertwined with yours as he pushed forward again, anticipation building in your chest. The hand on your stomach slid over the curve of your hip, resting on the bone as he pulled you back to guide you against him, chasing his own pleasure as the chemise slowly rose up your thighs.
Reaching back, you pulled the thin silk further up your body, revealing your bare core to him, before moving back again, grasping his heavy length in the palm of your hand. Aemond groaned and thrusted up into your grip as you gave him slow pumps.
You bit your lip, and guided the head down, feeling the leaking tip rub his arousal on your inner thighs as you lined him up with your core. The hand holding yours tightened, and you felt a puff of breath blow against the back of your head.
Rolling your hips backwards you let his cock glide through your folds, your slick coating his length. You sighed, back arching as his tip brushed against your bud, pleasure sparking within.
Aemond’s chest vibrated with a groan as he let you arch backwards towards him, assisting in the angle as you pushed the head of his cock to the entrance of your dripping centre.
Slowly he pushed through your folds, groaning as he stretched you apart on his cock, pleasure blooming in your core as you felt every vein and ridge of him brushing your walls inside.
There was no pain anymore when he did this. The pain had long gone, and only pleasure was in its place as you clenched around his length.
Aemond pulled out slowly before thrusting back into your heat, fingers twitching on your hip and in your hand. You mewled loudly into the room as he began to fuck you slowly, sensually, and sleepily.
You let your head roll backwards onto his shoulder as he kept a steady pace, the sound of your slick folds filling the chambers as you whined.
The gentle pleasure bloomed within you, with the angle and the way he was moving, his cock brushed against your inner pleasure spot with each thrust. Aemond had learnt your body well, in ways that you did not know where possible. In ways that he continued to learn, and continued to show you the results.
You let him fuck you sleepily, his hand moving to gently rub against your bud, soft, slow twists of his hand that gradually brought you closer and closer to your peak, other hand moving beneath you to grab at your breast, using it to pull you tightly against him.
Aemond did not whisper to you that evening, only soft moans and sighs leaving his lips behind you, head buried into your neck as he brought you lazily to your peak.
Pleasure rocked through you as you moaned, hips stuttering backwards as he continued his pace, fucking you through your release, slick coating your thighs and his cock as the fingers on your bud continued their ministrations.
Hot flames licked at you as he continued, his pace faltering as your walls clenched down on him tightly.
Aemond came with a grunt, pushing his cock to the hilt within you as he breathed raggedly into your shoulder, lips occasionally placing soft kisses to the skin. You felt his seed fill your core, its warmth settling inside of you hotly.
Turning your head, Aemond captured your lips into a searing kiss, keeping himself inside of you. He kissed you until you felt out of breath, your release blanketing you in the fuzzy warmth of fatigue.
You hummed as Aemond pulled away, pulling you tightly against him, his length twitching inside of you.
You shifted, trying to tilt your hips so that his cock would slide from your folds, but Aemond only tightened his hold on you, pulling you tighter to his chest.
“Shh. Go to sleep.” He murmured into your neck, placing another wet kiss there.
You stopped wriggling, feeling oddly full as you tried to do as he said and fall to sleep. It was distracting having him inside of you, and you would occasionally feel his cock jump within you, causing you to moan quietly and clench, and Aemond would shush you again.
Slowly but surely, the fatigue of the day swept you to your sleep, with Aemond still buried deeply inside of you.

Sleepy Showers
A/N: Hi hornies! I wrote this fic randomly and thought I should serve the sapphics more delicious Larissa content. Please make sure to read the warnings, and as always, feel free to leave comments and suggestions! Many thanks to the wonderful @weemssapphic for yet another beta read. Your kindness is overwhelmingly appreciated.
Larissa Weems x femreader
Summary: A morning shower turns into a steamy session when Larissa decides to shapeshift her most intimate parts...
Warnings: fluff, smut, g!p Larissa, Reader receiving, handjob, penetration, creampie
As you wake, the comforting weight of your lover’s arm over your torso almost lulls you back to sleep. However, you need to begin the day and get ready for work. You are a teacher at Nevermore, one that Larissa found herself infatuated with. You obviously returned her feelings. Things blossomed quickly after she gained the courage to ask you out on a date. Over time, your love for each other grew and now you both have a shared studio living area in the staff wing of the school. Your relationship can only be described as sweet, romantic, and loving. You find joy in the little things, always bringing Larissa flowers to brighten up her office, and buying her favorite lipstick when you notice it running low. She enjoys sneaking into your room between classes to bring food and sometimes you’ll return to your apartment, immediately noticing the envelope that you know contains a love letter she writes with passion. You even set aside time each week to have a special dinner or date night, usually opting for a nice restaurant, spending time afterward in the comfort of your bed watching movies, and then making love. Life is wonderful, and Larissa has brought you happiness beyond anything you’ve felt before.
Rolling over slowly, you face the woman of your dreams. Her blonde curls are tousled from sleep, her pale skin glowing in the morning light, and her plump lips stained a faint red hue from her daily choice of lipstick. The steady rising and falling of her chest accompanied by soft breaths brings you peace as you gaze upon your partner with nothing but awe and adoration.
Not wanting to interrupt her slumber, you place a gentle kiss on her forehead and begin lifting her arm away from your waist. Before you can roll back over and rise from the bed, a deep inhale sounds from beside you. You watch as Larissa’s eyes open and she groggily blinks away her exhaustion. Bright blue eyes peer into your own, the corners crinkling as a smile overtakes her face seeing your state of sleepiness.
“Good morning my love, are you heading to the shower?”
“Good morning angel, yes I’ve gotta get ready earlier today since I have a meeting with a student about a project before my first class.”
Larissa pouts when you mention having to leave bed early, wanting you to stay in the warmth of her arms for a while longer.
“I know you are being grumpy but you look so cute! Here, let me check my phone in case to confirm with the student.”
You roll over and pick up your phone from the nightstand, opening your emails and finding a new message sent just before midnight.
Hi Ms. L/N,
I started feeling sick tonight and will have to miss the meeting tomorrow morning. Maybe I can find a time to meet with you tomorrow if I feel better. Sorry for the late notice, I will keep you updated and let you know my availability for a rescheduled meeting time.
Thank you
Your face lights up knowing that you now have a free morning with the goddess of a woman next to you.
“Good news Riss! Well, I mean not technically good news since my student is out sick, but we have the morning to ourselves!”
Instantly, Larissa’s face brightens and she yanks you back over to her in a messy hug.
“Thank goodness, how could I ever be deprived of my darling girl?”
You laugh and pull away, an idea forming in your head for a fun morning plan.
“Would you want to take a shower with me? You know how much I love holding you in the water especially now that you had a second shower head installed to keep us both warm.”
That stunning grin you absolutely adore beams back at you and she kisses your cheek affectionately.
“Of course I would, sleepy showers are the best with you, my dear.”
Both of you roll over to your respective sides of the bed, standing hesitantly on tired legs from just having woken up. Larissa winks at you and sways her hips teasingly as she makes her way over to the bathroom. You shake your head playfully at her antics, but don’t pass up the chance to ogle her round ass sitting perfectly in her pajama pants. Following her in a trance, you wince as your feet hit the cold bathroom tile. She gingerly opens the shower door and turns on the water, steam beginning to fog up the frosted glass as it heats up.
“My sleepy girl, let’s get you undressed for me. You know how much I love taking off your clothes…”
With a smirk, your girlfriend lifts the hem of your shirt, your stomach immediately reacting with goosebumps to the temperature. Your breasts fall into place, nipples standing hard against the chilly air. Larissa takes a second to bite her lip in arousal but pulls the shirt completely off your body.
“My my, someone appears a bit cold. Don’t worry, I’ll get you warmed up and take care of those gorgeous breasts.”
You blush at her flirtatious words and bring your arms over your bare chest, trying to heat up your freezing skin.
“Well, it’s only fair that you take care of what’s yours…”
She chuckles at your response, loving how you put up with her mischief and always play along. As to not keep you in the cold for too long, she lowers the waistband of your pants and lets the loose pajamas fall to the floor. You swear you felt a hand brush against your mound when she lifted her arms back up as she stood straight but you ignore it for now, impatient to get in the hot water.
“May I undress you too Rissa? Or should I get in now and wait for you there?”
“Why don’t you go ahead and step in love? I see you shivering, my poor angel. I’ll be quick, I want to spend every second I have giving you affection.”
With a pink hue gracing your cheeks, you shuffle over to the shower and step through the door. Marble walls stretch upwards, and white warm flooring is now comfortable against your feet compared to the harsh tile on the other side of the blurred glass that faces the rest of the bathroom. A bench attached to the wall has an assortment of soaps and gels neatly arranged in the corner. An instant sigh of relaxation and ease leaves your mouth, your body melting under the steady stream.
Through the clouded glass, you make out the distinct shape of your lover removing her clothes. Her head tilts back as her shirt falls to the floor and the silhouette of her perky breasts makes your breath catch in your throat. She bends down and takes off her pants, revealing the supple swell of her ass that compliments her long silken thighs.
Closing your eyes and bringing your hands to smooth back your now-soaked hair, you hear the door open and shut. You open your eyes and take in the sight of your naked girlfriend which freezes your body entirely.
“Like what you see?”
“You know I do. Now come here before I eat you alive, you sexy woman.”
With a chuckle, Larissa steps forward and takes you in her arms. Her chest presses against yours, the squish making your cheeks deepen to a scarlet color. Her tall frame causes your face to rest against her shoulder, tender lips finding the top of your head.
Standing there silently, her arms wrapped around you in safety and comfort, with her soft skin against yours and nothing but love swirling around your brain is heaven. After staying still, savoring the beautiful moment, you feel her hand inch lower until it finds your butt. She gives it a squeeze, not missing how your breath hitches and you push your hips back into her hand.
“Darling, how are you so incredibly divine? You have no idea how badly I want to engrave the image of you in my mind to keep forever. Luckily, I have you all to myself for however long you’ll allow me.”
Leaning back you stare up at her with adoring eyes, capturing those blue orbs that always have you mesmerized.
“My love, you have me forever. My heart belongs to you and I will cherish yours until the end of time. I love you Larissa.”
Her eyes observe you with total fondness, sincerity in her voice as she speaks.
“I love you too darling, you will be treated like a princess because that is what you are to me. If you want a kiss? You’ll have one. Maybe cuddles? Of course, my arms are open and eager. If you want me to worship you? Well, I will already be doing that as usual.”
You giggle and bring your hand to the back of her head, gently pushing her down towards your lips for a sweet kiss. Her mouth moves in tandem with your own, passion entangled in the way she pulls your bottom lip between her teeth and tugs, emitting a moan and then releasing it to use her tongue to explore. Your body tingles and your core throbs, the sloppy sounds of the kiss and how she hungrily devours your mouth turning you on severely. Pulling away to gasp for air, Larissa pouts with a whine.
“Rissa love, you’re making me squirm. Would you want to…?”
With a proud grin, Larissa seductively peers down at you, causing chills to run up your spine.
“Normally I would make you use your words, but I really want to try something this morning and I want to make sure you are comfortable with it.”
Your eyebrow raises in question, not knowing what she could possibly be thinking of.
“My love, I was hoping to use my shapeshifting abilities to… change my lower half. Would you be okay with letting me fuck you with a real cock? It’s just an idea and as always, we will never do anything you aren’t comfortable with.”
The idea intrigues you and in your mind, the picture of Larissa fucking you with reddened cheeks from how you feel around her drives you wild. Not to mention, being filled by not only her cock, but her cum as well is something you’ve been fantasizing about.
“Yes! I mean- yes, Rissa, I would really love that. I love you and I want you to feel every part of me, including the deepest parts that will bring you pleasure.”
Releasing a breath she didn’t know she was holding in, your girlfriend excitedly hugs you and whispers in your ear.
“Good thing I know exactly which strap you love the most. I’ll just shift my cock to match exactly how you like it.”
She takes a deep breath and closes her eyes, you continue resting in her embrace as she shifts. You gasp as something rubs at your lower belly and you turn beet-red knowing what it is. Larissa groans when her cock grows against your body, the length squeezing between your smooth stomachs. Tilting your head back to watch her reactions, you hear a whimper and widen your eyes at how adorable yet sexy she is. Larissa pants as her hips softly rock to rub herself against you. Her eyes are shut tightly and rosy cheeks flush as small whimpers continuously exit her open mouth.
“Does that feel good baby? You look so pretty rubbing yourself against me. I feel how hard you are oh god- let me help you, sweet girl.”
Her eyes meet yours and she yelps as your hand grasps her hardness.
“Are you sensitive, my love? Poor baby, I promise I’ll be gentle.”
Speechless in both exhilaration and overwhelming emotion, she intently focuses on your face. Your hand starts moving up and down, jerking her off with delicate strokes. Her breaths stutter and it takes an immense amount of effort for her hips to not fuck up into your hand.
“L-Love, yes god- feels… so good. Darling- I- I love you-”
With a sensual smile, you lean forward and capture her lips with your own. She whimpers into your mouth as your hand rubs her cock lovingly. Your pussy throbs and drips uncontrollably, her angelic sounds fueling the fire in your lower belly.
“I love you too Rissa, are you ready to fuck me? Is that what you want baby?”
“Ye-yes please Y/N, please I need you-”
Her begging spurs on your dominance. Larissa typically takes on the dominant role but these moments when she is submissive and needy melt your heart.
“Okay love, I’ve got you. I’ve got you pretty baby.”
She shudders when you remove your hand. Turning around, you press your ass back into her, making her groan with her cock now pushed between your cheeks. You smirk to yourself and bend forward, presenting your backside to her. You lift a foot up and place it on the bench. Your cunt is soaked and Larissa is hypnotized, her cock throbbing and twitching, completely aroused by your bare ass and dripping arousal.
“Go ahead Riss, I know you can’t resist…”
Not hesitating and more than ready to enter you, she lines herself up with your sopping hole and pushes in.
“Oh fuck!”
She moans obscenely and grips your hips hard, the way your walls take her in and tightly clench around her length makes it hard to hold back. If she wasn’t so determined to fuck you as you deserve, she would have come as soon as she bottomed out. The stretch feels delicious, her warm cock filling you entirely. It feels similar to your favorite strapon, but there are obvious differences like the soft warmth of her skin and the way you can feel each subtle twitch and throb inside of you.
“Larissa- oh my god- please fuck me.”
Your lover immediately pulls out, leaving about an inch inside, and then thrusts back in. Her hips pound into you hungrily and she grunts with exertion and effort holding back her approaching climax.
“Yes! Fuck me- god yes!”
“Yeah? You like that- darling? Take- ngh- take it baby-”
Wet slaps of her hips against your backside sound throughout the steamy shower and you brace yourself against the wall with your hands. Your breasts swing back and forth, matching the rhythm of her thrusts. She leans forward and kisses your back, nipping and sucking marks onto your skin while still gripping your hip with one hand and groping your tits with the other. Her hips lose rhythm and you recognize how her breathing gets shallow and her moans increase in pitch. She is getting close and so are you. Nearing the edge, you need a push to reach your orgasm. Luckily, your girlfriend knows your body well enough.
“Darling- I’m gonna- I’m close, please- I want you to cum with me- mmm ngh-”
She reaches the hand clinging onto your breasts down and parts your lips to find your swollen clit. Two fingers circle the sensitive nub expertly.
“Baby- fuck! Rissa gonna- cumming-”
Intense waves of pleasure overtake your body as your orgasm washes over you. Your walls flutter and tighten, causing Larissa to thrust once more and release herself. A strangled moan departs her mouth, and her pulsing cock shoots hot cum deep inside of you. Her entire body feels rapturous as she quietly mutters “I love you” over and over. Coming down from your highs, you both pant heavily and she rests her weight on top of you. She stays inside, loving how she keeps you full of her cum with throbs of post-orgasm bliss. Once you come back down from paradise and catch your breath, Larissa speaks softly.
“I’m going to pull out, darling- I’ll go slow and you let me know if anything hurts or is uncomfortable.”
Her cock carefully inches out, you wince at the emptiness but love how cum leaks out of you. Larissa watches in awe as white juices plop onto the shower floor, your cunt looks beyond alluring.
“Good job my love, you did so well! I’m so proud of you. Thank you for letting me do that, I cannot even begin to describe how much I loved it.”
Surprisingly, she becomes shy and you turn your head to see her looking down trying to hide the obvious blush on her gorgeous face.
“Thank you for fucking me like that Riss, I definitely want to do it again sometime. I enjoyed it more than you know.”
You set your foot down and straighten your back at the same time, rotating around to face the love of your life. Larissa studies your exhaustion and sexily disheveled post-orgasm state. Your chest rises and falls steadily. Cum now slides down your thighs and red marks adorn your hips from where she gripped you. You are the most beautiful woman she has ever seen, and at this moment, she can barely function seeing you like this.
“You are so beautiful, I love you. Let me hold you for a bit before we have to clean up and get ready for work. First, I’m going to shift back.”
She closes her eyes once more and concentrates, morphing back to the stunning lower intimacy that you worship endlessly whenever possible.
“I love you too Rissa. Although I loved you fucking me like that, I have to say I missed this dearly.”
You cup her center and move to kiss her with so much love. You both smile into it and then settle into a comfortable embrace. Your head rests against her chest, listening to the strong heartbeat of the blonde angel that you are lucky to call yours. She holds you protectively, placing her cheek on the top of your head and passing her body heat to you. Intimacy like this between you and Larissa, standing in the middle of the shower as warm water soothes your bodies, is something you will cherish until time stops.

Can we get a Wally x reader neighbor who has a secret identity of a supervillain?
You got it! I kind of wanted to experiment with this one a bit to get a good idea on how to write different characters. Some villains remind me of people that really only need love or family in their life. (This does not take place in the Alive AU, or previously created AUs) Also I hope you don't mind this having multiple parts with multiple characters x reader? It just seems like such a fun idea!
And just a reminder since some people PM me a lot on this, the Welcome Home archive is updated each time I post a fic or request so you can check there if you missed something or if you are wanting to re-read a fic, way better than just scrolling around looking for it! :) Welcome Home Archive
_________________________________________________________
Laughter echoed throughout the house you resided in, having just completed yet another devious plan of yours. Well, devious isn't exactly what most would call them, just very annoying or petty really.
A part of you did feel some guilt when you ruined the picnic everyone had planned that day though, using your new and improved weather device to summon up a storm. They all looked genuinely upset this time. Frank actually yelled at you with Eddie having to hold him back, something he's never really done before while everyone scattered to get their belongings.
Everyone looked so disappointed in you, even the motherly figure of Poppy looked at you with a saddened expression. It did sting a bit to see that. Maybe it was something special that was going on? Whatever. It was none of your business anyways...you didn't care, you were just glad you had the mask on still.
The thrill of successfully pulling off that plan soon dwindled down to a quiet sniffle, having stopped yourself from crying again...something you found yourself doing a lot of when you were alone in the house. You wish you could be friends with them too, it just felt like you didn't belong here sometimes though so you never approached any of the neighbors much unless you needed to get something or if a neighbor needed help. Of course you could just be a menace and not help at all and plot all day everyday. However, you preferred to keep your villainous self a secret and enjoy the small moments of kindness this place had to offer. Besides, your plots weren't that bad really, right?
Stars you were so lonely and hopelessly confused about your purpose here. Some days it felt great to be mean and some days, like today, you felt awful.
Deciding you needed to quit moping around, you made your way to the bathroom to dress up in your normal clothing and to wipe away any evidence of crying, only to jump back upon seeing a flash of eyes in the mirror. You blinked a few times no longer seeing them...this happened so often you think you're starting to get used to it, perhaps you were just imagining things when you got stressed. You continued with dressing and wiping your face dry, the last thing you needed was someone bringing too much attention to you. Besides, you still had to get some groceries from Howdy's today.
It was still heavily raining by the time you made it into Howdy's shop, you didn't mind though. Rain is what brought you comfort in this world, it was the only thing familiar to you having always let the water soak you and smelling the deep earthy smells that came with the cool air.
-
Hearing the small chime of the bell, Howdy made his way downstairs to get behind the counter expecting one of his friendly neighbors. Instead he found the welcome mat completely soaked under your shoes with mud trailing inside...oh dear, that was going to be a hassle to clean up.
You looked behind you at the floor upon seeing the small strain on the caterpillar's smile. "Oh...sorry about that, I can clean it up." your voice trailed into a mumble. You didn't feel like being mean in public and what happened earlier was already making you feel guilty. Really, you have never once seen everyone that upset before. You recall Wally staring, no, glaring with a stretched smile right at you before you ran off. A shudder ran through your body, both from the cold and recent memory. Howdy gave you a look before rounding the corner into his office.
"That's quite alright with me! If anything I'll take you cleaning up my shop as payment for today." You could hear Howdy's voice trail further into the office as you watched him come back out with something in one of his hands. It looked like a large cloth?
The caterpillar unfolded the cloth and came over to where you were standing, draping the soft blanket over your shoulders. One hand gave your head a pat. "So, I guess you're here for your usual right?" The hand on your head stayed. It felt nice.
"Yeah" You pulled the blanket into you. "Thanks for this..."
You know what? Nah, I'm making this into chapters I love this too much, there needs to be more.
Next chapter: Frank has been keeping track of the villain's actions and daily routine, more than you yourself have and he's more than willing to let Wally know who he thinks it is that's been causing trouble.

It was no earlier than eight in the evening. The sun was just below the horizon (it was late autumn), and the breeze had started to pick up. You, Joel, and Ellie had been up since before the sunrise this morning, continuing your journey down to Wyoming. Right now, you were in the outskirts of the Illinois countryside, in some small town that was in a time capsule from decades ago.
Before the outbreak, you had worked with Joel (and his brother Tommy) in their contracting business, as a secretary (well, secretary-in-training). You decided to stick with him during his travels after the apocalypse had commenced, despite his bitching and complaining about you being there. Though, the complaining only happened for a short while, he learned to appreciate you and enjoy your company, you were one of the few people he had cared about in this horrible world.
It had only been a few months ago since you had met Ellie for the first time. You didn't like her at the start, to say the least - she was an 'annoying little shit', like Joel would say. All Ellie did all day was nag and pester both you and Joel, but she, as well as the two of you, learned to interact peacefully with one and other. Now, all three of you were inseparable. You sure as hell didn't mind this, but Joel didn't want Ellie (or you, for that matter) near him when he would get himself in shit. Oh well, you can't have everything you want.
Ellie was talking to the two of you about something she had probably learned from all the books she had read at the Boston QZ. To be honest, Ellie had taught you lots of things. Not any survival things, far from that, but brainy things that you would have probably needed if you actually ever lived a normal adult life - paying the government, how much you should ideally spend on groceries, etc.
You weren't paying attention to the girl beside you, tuning her out completely. You were far too tired to be in any more conversation than you had to be in right now, and you just really couldn't give a shit about the percentage rate of silverback gorillas being born in American zoos in the late nineties compared to the early eighties. As Ellie was talking, you had spotted a nice little home of sorts, one that the three of you could spend the night in.
"Hey," You had interupted the other two who were in small conversation, "we can spend the night there." A nod was sent from you to the direction of the small home. The other two went silent, Joel had sped up a tad bit, now in front of you and leading the way. "Wait out here, lemme check't out." With that, he was off inside.
Ellie turned to you, breaking the silence. "When're you gonna teach me how to drive, princess?" That was the nickname she gave you, princess. According to her, it was because everyone had always treated you like royalty. You thought different, but it was whatever. "How old're ya'? Twelve? Not yet, missy." This had earned a gasp from Ellie, like she had just seen a ghost. "Fourteen, actually! More adult than yo-"
She had gotten interrupted by Joel stepping out of the small home, "It's clear, y'all're safe t'come in." He did his little head motion, signalling you guys to come in. You began to walk, and Ellie was on your heel. You brought your hand around her shoulder, roughing up her hair. "Soon, promise."
When you two had entered the tiny abode, it reeked of old. You weren't sure if it was the contained moisture, or nobody cleaning the place in twenty years, but it smelled old. "Fucking Christ! Someone open a window!" was exclaimed from Ellie as she moved out from your grip, and plugging her nose. You and Joel had eyed one another, before you moved to the two windows (one each) and hoisted them open. An immediate relief was sent through the room, with a nice breeze of wind following suit.
"So much better." Ellie groaned, now moving over to the couch in the middle of the room. The house was not big at all, there were a total of three rooms. The living space, a bedroom, and a bathroom. The bathroom was totally out of commission, so that meant only two rooms. "Ya' can have the bedroom," Joel had said to Ellie, "We'll take the livin' room."
"Sleep with a fucking pillow divider, please. I am not babysitting any kids in the near future." This had earned a stern look from Joel, and a wack from you. "Bed, now." You told her after she yelped from the hit across her shoulder. "Jesus! Let me go piss, and then I'll go!" You tsked as Ellie quickly and efficiently moved out the front door, to go and do whatever she needed to do.
"Un-fucking-believable." You had only managed to get out, before sitting down on the couch. Joel had let out a small sigh as he removed his gun that was slung over his shoulder. "Kid's got'ta mouth." He sat down beside you, arm now draping around your shoulder. "I fucking know! How does she even- even know what that shit means? Swear ta' god, I was her age'n playin' with barbies."
After not replying to this, knowing it was just going to keep setting you off, he began to unbutton his shirt. You had glanced down, taking the hint Joel was giving to you. You had tugged at the hem of your jeans, sliding them off. This wasn't for sex, not tonight. You two had known each other for years, and you trusted each other with your lives, so you were both able to get undressed in front of each other without a caring what the other would think.
After Joel was just in his jeans, and you were just in your shirt and underwear, you two had melted into the couch. The couch was the cleanest part of the entire room, which was a huge plus- though, even if it wasn't, you would still have a great sleep on it shortly. Joel had his arm wrapped around you once again, and you were pulled into his bare chest. He hated PDA, so it was perfect when the two of you were just alone- even though Ellie knew something was up between the two of you.
"Can we take the day off tomorrow?" Your voice wasn't loud, just barely loud enough for him to hear. You ear was pressed against his chest, head rising everytime he inhaled and exhaled. "'M sorry, ya' know we can't." After Joel had said this, an audible exhale was heard through the room. Joel's thumb started to rub up and down your shoulder, his hand staying in place. "Don'tcha worry, baby. Only a bit longer, then we'll get time, 'kay?"
Before you had time to respond, you heard a booming sound coming from a bit away. It was an engine. You shot up, causing Joel's arm to fall off of you. He had grunted as he sat up, his brain running a thousand miles per minute right now. Then, you two both had a moment of realization. "Ellie."
It felt like an eternity for the both of you before you had your clothes back on, when in reality it only took about fifteen seconds. "We shouldn't have fuckin' let her go out there." Joel had stated as he grabbed his gun and quickly made his way to the door. You were on his heel as Ellie was to you earlier, praying nothing had happened to her. If something did, you would never forgive yourself- and Joel sure as hell wouldn't forgive you either, despite it not being any of your fault.
The door had burst open as the two of you emerged from it, eyes scanning everywhere all at once, looking for the small brunette. As you did this, you could see some sort of headlights approaching quickly. You had grabbed Joel's arm and pulled him down with you. By the speed the car was approaching at, they wouldn't see you at all if you were on the ground. Joel had his gun aimed towards the approaching vehicle (the only reason he hadn't taken a shot was because he couldn't get a clear one, due to how fas the car was going).
Before you could even process it, the car was stopped in front of where you and Joel were, and the window had rolled down. A honk or two was set out, very loudly. You still weren't able to process what was happening, neither did Joel. Finally, after a moment or two, you snapped back (harshly) into reality). "Is that-"
"Get in fuckers, we're going on a road trip!" The familiar brunette you two were so scared you had lost was, in fact, sitting in the front seat of this random pickup truck, the biggest fucking grin on her face. You were on your feet just after Joel was on his, he looked like he was about to kill someone. "Get out'ta the fuckin' car, Ellie." He had slung his rifle back over his shoulder once he knew that she wasn't some sort of raider.
"No can do, Joel-ly boy. I already got yours and the princess's bags in the back. Hop in, I need to show you this cool fuckin' shit I found!" You had only turned to look at Joel, his view still at the young girl. He was thinking to himself. First of all, how the fuck did Ellie find the keys for the corresponding car, and how the fuck was she able to drive it without any previous experience or help? He was dumbfounded at the moment.
All you could do was grab Joel's arm and lead him to the car, Ellie was refusing to get out and well- you promised to teach her how to drive. God, he was going to kill you later. "I told her I'd uh- you know, teach her." You had audibly gulped, your eyes not meeting Joel's. He was silent, the only thing heard was some Brittany Spears song Ellie had playing.
Once your eyes had met his for a split second, he gave a 'fine, but we're having a long talk about this later' look to you. You opened the door for him like the nice person you were, and he hesitantly got in. You were so nervous right now, you felt like you had broken Joel's trust by doing this. But hey, if for some reason Ellie is on her own in the future, she needs to know how to drive a car.
You made your way to the other side and got in the passenger seat. Joel was sitting in the middle seat of the second row, his hands resting on the shoulder of the seats in front. Once the door was shut, you most definitely did your seat belt up. You had turned your head to eye Ellie, as she just grinned at you. "First rule, always wear your fuckin' seatbelt."
You could tell her heart fell by this, "Right- my bad." She quickly pulled the piece of material over her chest and into the lock. "Alright, now-" She had reached over you, and to the compartment in front. "I found some killer albums. Ones that our Joel-ly boy would love. I'm playing them so the mood isn't totally fucked."
You shook your head, eyeing Joel through the rearview mirror. He met the gaze, looking absolutely annoyed. Though, he was silent and just watching what the two of you were doing. Ellie had finished fumbling with the tapes, and removed the one that was playing. She put the new one into the radio system, and tossed the recently-played one into the compartment. The play button was hit.
"Okay, uh- where do I start? I guess now we talk about the gears? Basically, you'll take the shift and-" Your heart had dropped as you were suddenly cut off by the engine roaring, and now going about eighty miles an hour. For some fucking reason, Ellie was laughing. You and Joel were sure as hell not laughing, as a matter of a fact, Joel was screaming with you.
Some 'oh my fucking god!'s and some 'stop!'s were heard through the music, that was now blaring through the car's speakers. Taking a fraction of a second to listen into the music, you had figured out it was Highway to Hell by AC/DC, an old rock band that was popular when Joel was growing up. How fucking fitting for these circumstances.
Joel's hand, from the back seat, had found your shoulder as he held you to the back of your seat. He didn't have his seatbelt on, but he didn't care. He had to make sure you wouldn't go fucking flying through the front windshield if Ellie came to a halting stop. "Stop the fuckin' car! Slowly- off the gas! Jesus Christ!" He was screaming from the back.
Sure, adrenaline was an exhilarating feeling every once in a while, but going eighty miles an hour in a car from someone with zero driving experience? Not exhilarating one bit. Though, Ellie would beg to differ. She was draining out the screams and panicked tones coming from both you and Joel, and was just having a great time.
After another minute or two of screaming and pleading for the girl to stop, the song came to an end- and so did her manic driving. "Ellie-" You were panting, like you had just ran a marathon. In reality, you were panting because you had just held your breath from the exact time the engine accelerated, until now. "-Ellie, pull the fucking car over. Please god." You were in no means religious, but right now you felt like you needed to go to church and pray.
Ellie didn't really know how to pull over properly, so she just- swerved off the road and pushed the car's "off" button. Joel's hand had fell from your shoulder, and he brought both to his face. He covered his face by his hands for a moment, and Ellie smiled to herself. She felt accomplished by this, even though she almost fucking killed everyone (including herself).
After a moment of silence, Joel had made a sound. It sounded like he was crying. Both you and Ellie, in unity, had turned to him in the backseat. It was so muffled that you did think Joel was crying. You immediately brought your hand to his knee, your heart still racing from what had just happened.
It was only after you did this that you realized he was in fact not crying, but had bursted out with laughter. Joel fucking Miller, the most serious man on the planet, was laughing after he almost just died. You had removed your hand from his knee and turned back forward, shaking your head and crossing your arms. "This isn't funny, Joel!"
Ellie turned back after you, glancing in your direction. She couldn't help but burst out with laughter too. Not at you, but at everything (it also didn't help that she, along with you two, were exhausted). Your gaze went from forward, to the left of you, to Ellie. You could only shake your head, disappointed.
But, if you were disappointed, why had you started to laugh as well? This situation sure as hell wasn't funny, to you at least. "I hate you guys." You managed to get out between your laughter fits. Even if you were setting a bad example right now, you couldn't help it. Everyone's laugh was so contagious, despite the current situation.
Moments like this, you would remember forever. You would remember this as the time your psycho kid almost killed you while driving for the first time, and all three of you bursting out with laughter afterward. Even though the world had ended, you couldn't help but enjoy the small moments like this, where you almost died (but didn't), just being surrounded by the people you had loved more than anything. You had learned so much from moments like this, like not to let a fucking fourteen your old girl drive a car without proper lessons, or that Joel Miller was in fact not made out of stone, and he was able to laugh alongside the rest of you.
Even though the world you used to know was gone, you were happy that, whenever it came, you would get to spend your last minutes surrounded by the people you loved most. Joel and Ellie.

chapter 4/8 || rated e || read on ao3 *updates every tues. and fri. *
Denver, CO Rocky Mountain Expo Henry thanks the powers that be for allowing Pez to crash the tour for the next two days. And by that, he means he cannot thank Alex enough for arranging for Pez to join them at Rocky Mountain Expo in Denver. He figures it might’ve been him mentioning one too many times how much of a Crescent Valley fan Pez was that Alex perhaps took pity and worked some magic behind the scenes to get him to fly out. Whatever it is, Henry is immensely grateful. He hadn’t realized just how much he missed Pez’s presence. Certainly they’d kept up well with FaceTimes and texts over the last few weeks, but there’s nothing quite like genuine face to face connection with a person– especially when that someone is none other than Percy Okonjo. At his side now, Henry watches Pez drink it all in. The convention center, like every other stop so far, is brimming with people from all sorts of fandoms. It’s chaotic and exciting, all baselines for a guy like Pez. Alex had left from their hotel earlier than Henry so that he could attend the scheduled fan breakfast and Henry could be available to get Pez sorted. It’s such a small thing, but it was almost as strange being apart from Alex this morning as it has been to be away from Pez these past couple of weeks. Henry hadn't realized just how dependent he’d grown on Alex’s company.
Henry’s phone buzzes in his pocket as he and Pez visit different vendors in Artist Alley where creatives sell their custom made pieces. He takes a look at the screen and sees a text from Alex.
Alex everything going well with you and pez?
Henry smiles and notes the time. There’s still thirty minutes before Alex’s panel and having the experience firsthand, he can just imagine Alex behind the scenes, keeping busy to work out his excited energy.
Henry Indeed. Would it be alright if I brought him round to meet you now? Or would after be better?
Alex now pls!
“We’re being summoned,” Henry says, pocketing his phone again.
Pez doesn’t need any more prompting and Henry leads them through the crowds to get to the hall Alex’s panel is being held. He’s surprised but pleased to find Alex already waiting for them by a private set of doors. Henry’s heart does a funny little swoop seeing Alex standing there, greeting them with a smile.
“Alex. I wanted you to meet Pez.”
Alex beams his thousand-watt smile at Pez.
“I feel like I already know you. Henry talks about you all the time. Nothing but good things, I promise,” he says.
Pez looks more and more like the Cheshire Cat as his smile overtakes his face.
“Alex Claremont-Diaz, as I live and breathe,” Pez says in a scarily good Southern debutante accent.
“You’ll have to forgive Pez. He has consumed far too much American media from the time he was a small, impressionable child. I fear the damage cannot be undone.”
Alex laughs. “It’s paid off pretty well. That sounded authentic as hell. You could give me a run for my money.”
Pez, unshakable formidable Pez, actually giggles at the compliment.
“You’re a charmer. Go on now. Keep saying more nice things. I won’t object.”
Henry watches them go, riffing off each other as if they’ve known each other forever. It feels like Henry has entered into an alternate universe of some kind, watching his worlds collide.
“I’m sure you guys must’ve made plans, but if you’re interested, I’d love to take y’all out for dinner tonight,” Alex says.
Pez’s eyes light up. “I’m sure we could shuffle a few things around,” he says, looking at Henry for confirmation. He nods and Pez smiles.
“We’d be delighted. Dinner sounds positively lovely. Thank you,” Pez continues.
Henry turns to Alex. “We could all meet back in the hotel lobby at quarter to 7 perhaps?”
Alex nods. “Yeah, that’d be great. Things should be pretty hectic at the expo today. I’ll look into making reservations nearby afterwards."
Voices carry a bit louder from inside the hall.
"I should probably get back," Alex says. "But have fun you guys and enjoy the panel. Pez, it was really nice meeting you. I will absolutely be expecting a truckload of embarrassing stories and any overall dirt you might have on Henry, so start brainstorming now,” he says with a wink.
Henry already rues turning them into co-conspirators.
Pez smiles and wiggles his fingers at Alex before he leaves them to head to the greenroom. The moment Alex rounds the corner, Pez does an unseemly victory dance right there in the corridor.
“How can you possibly stand being around him all day every day without wanting to jump his bones? He’s even more attractive in person. That’s just unnatural. Dare I say, it’s supernatural.”
Henry touches his hand to his forehead.
“Come on. Let’s go grab our seats. They’ll be starting shortly.”
~*~*~
The secret of his true dynamic with Alex haunts Henry like a tell-tale heart. Each time Pez mentioned Alex’s name after the panel and now back here in their hotel room, Henry feels as if he could choke on the secret.
“I’ve hit rock bottom,” he says, apropos of nothing as he and Pez watch an episode of Crescent Valley on his laptop in bed.
“Welcome! There’s plenty of room down here,” Pez says, yanking Henry to rest his head in his lap. “Come now, tell Auntie Pezza what ails you, my darling.”
Henry sighs and hits the spacebar, freezing the show. It’s a small mercy that it isn’t a scene with Alex. He’s not so sure he’d be able to get through this conversation with Alex’s face right there in front of them.
“I think I’ve made a mistake.”
Pez’s fingers scratch lightly against Henry’s scalp.
“My dear Henry, you’re a writer. I need you to put your fancy degree to good use and elaborate for me, love.”
Henry looks away, unable to maintain eye contact for what he’s about to say.
“Part of me is falling for someone that I shouldn’t. Maybe ‘falling for’ is a bit too much. I need more time to parse it, but I feel…different sometimes.”
Pez’s hand stops combing through his hair.
“Hang on now. You haven’t met anyone new recently that I know of. I mean, there’s that secret midnight hookup back in New York and of course, scrumptious Alex. The latter would be bonkers, but it can’t be the former. You never got his info.”
Henry bites back on his lower lip. Pez is so close to the mark.
“That’s not exactly true. I sort of…ran into him the next day.”
“Have you any Advil here? I swear you’re giving me a headache talking in riddles like this. You had lunch with Alex the next day and then came straight home, no?”
Pez’s eyes grow wide, realization sinking in. Henry sits up and not a moment too soon as Pez’s hands fly to his mouth and he muffles a scream.
“No! Oh, my god, wait. No. There’s just no way! You don’t mean to say…Alex is Javier?”
Henry looks down at his hands, suddenly very fascinated with them.
“Well, now, that just shattered all my illusions. Pity he wasn’t good in bed. As fit as he is…hmm.”
“He wasn’t good that first night, no. But since then…”
“Since then! ” Pez shrieks, completely scandalized. “Grab the smelling salts! Get me a lounge chair! I’m going to pass out, I swear it. This is simply too much for me to take,” he says, putting a hand over his heart.
Pez shakes his head almost cartoonishly.
“Do you mean to tell me you two have been shagging this whole time?”
“Not the whole time,” Henry says reflexively. “Look, Pez, you cannot say a word to anyone, do you understand?”
Pez’s face grows serious, all his theatrics subsiding at the drop of a hat.
“I give you my word. You know that. I wouldn’t tell a soul.”
Henry nods. “No, I know. I’m sorry,” he says, rubbing anxiously at his temple. “I’m just…there’s so much riding on this, you know? The book, my contract. Most importantly though, he’s only out to his friends and family right now. This isn’t even my secret to tell. But, heavens, Pez, I feel like I’ve been dying keeping this in. Things are so good with us. I’ve been loving being on this tour.”
“Well, I should think so,” Pez says, smirking a little. “If I were spending my nights tangled in the sheets with none other than Alex Claremont-Diaz, I’d be having the time of my already fabulous life too.”
Henry shoves him gently.
“You’re horrible, but I’ll admit, that’s been an added bonus. But honestly? I simply like being around him. He’s clever and funny and smart and infuriating in the best ways at times…I don’t know. It’s been fun getting to know him.”
Pez’s brows furrow a bit.
“Are you sure you can handle this, Hazza? It actually does sound an awful lot like you’re falling pretty hard here. I assume you two have struck up a deal of some sort with guidelines?”
“It’s just casual. Platonic even. I’m merely giving him pointers in the bedroom and by the time I leave from the tour, that’ll be the end of that. We’ll both move on from this,” Henry says.
Pez doesn’t look entirely convinced.
“I don’t think you can put a hard deadline on feelings. No offense, but casual has never quite been your factory setting.”
Henry shakes his head. “It’s fine. This is so unlike me. I’m only being silly now, getting swept up in the secrecy of it all.”
Pez grins. “That I can understand. This is terribly salacious. I’m eating it up with a bib and a spoon.”
Pez hums and taps his chin. “Now, let’s back it up just a taste for one moment, honey. When you say he’s improved since New York…”
Henry buries his face in his hands and groans.
“Oh, come on! You’ve got to give me something here,” Pez insists. “You’ve been sitting on an absolute treasure trove of a secret for weeks now!”
Henry looks up and takes a deep breath.
“He…takes instructions very well. He’s a rather quick and adept learner. An enthusiastic one at that.”
Pez’s smile grows even wider which Henry didn’t think was humanly possible.
“I’d absolutely hate you if I didn’t love you so much. I’m dying. Good on you though.”
Henry laughs at the absurdity of Pez’s praise.
“Anyway, I needed to tell someone before I popped, so thank you for indulging me.”
“No, no. Thank you, my dear, for this cup of delicious, piping hot tea. I’m all the more excited for dinner now, to get to know the kitten who has gotten my best friend so smitten.”
~*~*~
After an incredible dinner at one of the trendiest restaurants Henry has ever been to, Pez insists they keep the night going with drinks downtown. It’s truly a marvel to see how easily his best friend is able to be at home anywhere, even a place he’s only now visiting for the first time.
From the moment they entered the club, Pez took his place on the dancefloor like a king holding court among his subjects. He dances with perfectly good strangers, cozying up to a few of them. Henry is already wondering if he’ll have to arrange to sleep elsewhere tonight.
He shakes his head to himself as he reaches for his drink where he and Alex sit in a corner booth, away from the crowd but with a perfect view to see it all.
“You told Pez about us,” Alex says out of the blue, a statement not a question.
Henry bites nervously on his bottom lip, stunned. He thinks back to dinner. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. He actually thought Pez did a good job of hiding the fact that he was in on the secret. Yet still, Alex clearly picked up on something.
“I did. I’m sorry. I promise, he wouldn’t tell anyone. Subtly may not be his strong suit,” he says, glancing over Pez with his bubblegum pink hair and flashy sequined jacket, an all-out blur on the dancefloor, “but discretion is. He knows you aren’t out. He’d never in a million years breathe a word of any of this.”
Alex nods and smiles. “If you trust him, so do I. Honestly, I’m not worried. In all fairness, I told my sister and Nora.”
Henry can’t even begin to absorb that information or the possible implications of it. It’s just enough to know that this dynamic between them felt worthwhile enough for Alex to tell the two closest people to him.
“And do they think us mad for this?”
“Actually, no. They damn near threw me a party,” Alex says, reaching for his beer and laughing to himself. “Your fan club increased by two automatically.”
Henry lifts a brow. “Am I to assume you’re a member too?”
“Sweetheart, I’m the president. The founding member.”
Henry smiles demurely and shakes his head.
“Once again, I must say, you do wonders for my self-esteem. Thank you.”
Alex eyes him curiously.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Of course,” Henry says. “What’s on your mind?”
“How the fuck are you single? Not that I’m actually complaining because, selfishly, there’s no way in hell we’d be able to do any of the things we’ve been doing since New York. I’m counting my lucky stars and all that jazz, but still. It’s absolutely crazy to me that you aren’t seeing anyone. I’m sure that’s a conscious choice on your part. It’s got to be. A guy like you wouldn’t have any issues finding a boyfriend if you wanted one.”
Henry rubs the back of his neck.
“I don’t know what it is. Perhaps I’m too closed off.”
“Bullshit. The night we met, you opened up to me. You were so easy to talk to. I felt like I’d always known you.”
This brings Henry up short. He’d felt that same connection with Alex too, but to hear the man echo the sentiment almost identically to how he’d thought about it is slightly disorienting.
“I think we’ve established that night was a special case. It was different with you. I was different with you than I normally am with literally every other guy I’ve pursued. I don’t know why. I just felt comfortable so it was easy, for the first time in God only knows how long to open up. It was a fluke.”
“Or fate,” Alex says. His eyes widen and he blinks twice quickly. “I’m like…I’m not trying to say we’re soulmates or anything,” he stammers. “I just mean, I don’t know. It’s rare for me too to click with someone like that. I think there’s something to be said for two people like us just happening across each other then crossing paths again the very next day. What are the odds of that?”
Henry is quiet as he mulls over Alex’s words.
“I don’t mean to freak you out. Shit, just forget I said anything.”
Henry shakes his head.
“You didn't. I think you might actually have a point and I don’t know what to make of it.”
He searches Alex's eyes then looks away, back down to his laptop.
“Anyway, to answer your question, I suppose I’m single because it simply isn’t my time right now. I’ve never truly been lucky in that department. Our night aside, I really do have a tendency to guard myself.”
“Why?” Alex asks. “There’s so much good in there. I could see it on day one. That’s what drew me to you in the first place.”
“So it wasn’t just my dashing good looks and accent?”
Alex cocks his head to the side and gives him a look.
“I’m serious. I’ve been seeing it ever since. You’re depriving people, Henry. Most of all, yourself and I think that’s the worst part in all of this. It’d be a shame to never share that.”
Henry’s brows furrow. In a way, hadn’t he been letting Alex in this whole time? Henry realizes belatedly that maybe it didn’t count. After all, none of this was actually real.
If only his heart knew that.
“Shall I get us another round?” he says, rising from his seat, suddenly needing to be away from this suffocating booth.
Alex runs a hand through his hair.
“Fuck. Henry, wait. I didn’t mean to upset you.”
“You didn’t,” Henry says, perhaps too quickly. He tries again, setting his hand down on the table.
“We’re good. I just…I need a moment is all. Besides, I should probably get Pez a large glass of water before he passes out.”
Alex’s knuckles touch the back of his hand. It’s so subtle and faint, any passerby wouldn’t even notice. But that small point of contact becomes the sole focus of Henry’s entire world.
“You’re sure we’re okay?” Alex asks again.
Henry stares back at him.
“Always.”

Columbus, OH GalaxyCon Day 1
Another week, another time zone and Henry is convinced tour life might actually be the death of him.
When they arrived in Ohio yesterday evening, Henry had felt a bit off. He ignored the feeling, not wanting anything to put a damper on the upcoming con and Alex’s excitement over it. He’d be joined again by his castmates and was looking forward to the big dinner they had planned before they were all parting ways again.
Henry liked how pumped Alex got ahead of and during cons, the way he’d light up at the prospect of seeing familiar faces in the crowds and new ones alike. Since the announcement, Henry has noticed the uptick in fervor from both Alex and fans. The last thing Henry wants to do is give Alex any cause for concern or worry.
He gets through most of the morning at GalaxyCon pretty well until close to noon when Alex’s panel is set to start.
“You okay?” Alex asks. “You look a little pale.”
“Yeah, I think all this traveling is catching up to me.”
Alex puts the back of his hand on Henry’s forehead.
“You feel warm, Henry. You must be coming down with something.”
Henry can hear the worry in Alex's voice.
“I’m fine.”
“I can literally see and feel that you aren’t.”
Henry can hear fans being let into the hall. Maybe all he needs now is just some time away to sit alone with some peace and quiet.
“If it’s alright with you, I’m going to pop back to the hotel and get some rest.”
Alex’s lips and brows are pinched with concern.
“Of course it’s okay. Do you need anything?”
Henry shakes his head. “Don’t worry about me. You have your panel to focus on. I’ll be fine.”
Alex doesn’t look convinced and Henry can see the debate he’s having with himself.
He touches Alex’s arm lightly. “I’ll check in with you later. Go have fun out there with your friends.”
Almost on cue, the rest of the cast starts to line up behind the stage. Henry watches them go past but Alex doesn’t budge.
“Go, Alex. I’ll be fine.”
Alex sighs and nods, finally accepting defeat.
“The second we’re done here though, I’m calling you.”
“Fair enough,” Henry says. “I’ll be as good as new by the time you do. You’ll see.”
~*~*~
There’s an annoying pounding sound that makes Henry’s already aching head feel worse as he opens his eyes.
“Henry, let me in,” he hears faintly.
Henry groans and rolls over in bed, instantly regretting the move. His vision feels like a dizzying kaleidoscope. He shuts his eyes again and takes a breath before looking around his room.
He doesn’t know how long he’s been knocked out, but the sun is no longer in the sky and that’s telling enough.
“Henry?” the voice calls again. There are three more quick knocks on the door. “You’re freaking me out. Open up.”
Alex.
Henry sways as he gets to his feet. It takes a moment for the room to stop feeling like it’s spinning before he walks over to the door and opens it.
On the other side, he’s met with an anxious looking Alex who takes a deep breath of relief.
“Thank God. I was about to get hotel security.”
“I’m fine,” Henry says.
Alex’s face is incredulous. “You look like shit which I never thought was possible. No offense,” he tacks on. “Shaan has been calling you. I’ve been calling you. I thought you’d passed out though, by the looks of things, I’m guessing that’s exactly what happened. You’re sick.”
Henry rubs at his left temple.
“I need…to sit. You…can keep talking if you want,” he says, stepping away from the door and back into the room.
Behind him, Alex scoffs and presumably comes inside. Henry hears the door close, but it feels like it’d take too much effort to turn around and confirm.
He sits on the edge of bed and wraps the covers around himself like a cocoon.
“I wanted to ask you some more stuff for the book. I just need thirty minutes more. You can go. I’ll set an alarm,” he says, fumbling around the nightstand for his phone but he soon abandons the task when he forgets what he’s searching for a moment later.
“Forget the book. Do you know what day it is?” Alex asks as he approaches his bedside.
“It’s Friday,” Henry mumbles, the comforter falling from his shoulders.
“Okay, yeah, technically. But it’s also Opposite Day. So, I will be doing the polar opposite of everything you suggest.”
“Alex. How is that— in any way, shape, or form—different from any other day of the week for you?”
Alex grins, his nose scrunching as he does so.
“You may have lost the ability to breathe through your nose, but it’s nice to know your sass is still firmly in place.”
A wave of nausea hits Henry just then, holding him back from making another quick retort. The discomfort he feels must register on his face as Alex’s smile disappears and concern quickly takes its place instead.
“Come on, seriously, lay down. Please let me take care of you.”
Henry’s tired body responds at once as if it’d been waiting for the command to allow him to finally give in. He settles in on his side and Alex is right there, pulling the comforter over him.
Henry’s surprised as Alex crouches beside the bed, their faces on level as he brushes damp strands from Henry’s forehead. His fingertips are soft against Henry’s skin where they lightly graze him. Alex’s eyes track the movement of his own hand, but Henry can’t look away from the other man's face, taking stock of the way his lashes cast shadows on his cheekbones and his perfect mouth parts slightly.
“I’ll be right back,” Alex says softly. “I’m going to find the nearest pharmacy and grab a few things for you.”
“I just need to sleep it off.”
Alex scoffs. “Christ, and I thought I was stubborn. I might’ve finally found my match.”
Those words shouldn’t have the power to make Henry’s heart leap. He chalks it up to his sickness for the temporary delusion that Alex could mean anything more. They aren’t a match, even if they’ve been proving to be compatible in virtually every regard. He’s simply not the kind of person Alex actually settles down with.
It’s far too much to think about now; perhaps even when he isn’t feeling like Death warmed over wouldn’t be the best time to attempt dissecting all his complicated feelings.
“You’re the hottest nurse I’ve ever had.”
Alex winks. “If only I’d had time to get a uniform. You’ll just have to use your imagination, sweetheart.”
“A literal interpretation of a fever dream, huh?”
Alex smiles and strokes Henry’s hair again.
“Speaking of dreams, get some sleep while I’m gone.” Henry watches Alex snag his keycard from the nightstand. “I’ll let myself in when I get back. Call if anything changes while I’m out, okay?”
Henry nods, but already his brain is starting to shut down, his eyes too.
He feels a gentle hand against his cheek and what he thinks could be lips on the crown of his head for a brief moment before sleep overtakes him.
~*~*~
When he opens his eyes again, Alex’s back is to him as he sits at the front of the bed. An episode of The Golden Girls is playing on the television and Henry thinks, surely, this fever is playing tricks on his mind.
He sits up slowly and Alex turns at once just as the show breaks for advertisements.
Alex smiles and gets to his feet, going over to the table in the room. Henry sees two tote bags there that Alex begins to unload. The haul is serious, complete with cough medicine, throat lozenges, vapor rub, and even soup and orange juice.
It warms Henry’s heart to see the care that’s gone into this, but he can’t imagine this is how anyone would want to spend a Friday night.
“You’re sweet for this, Alex, thank you,” he says, sniffling a little. He clears his throat.
“You’re going to get sick if you hang around much longer though. You should probably go. I can take it from here. Honest.”
“Do I make for such poor company that you’re giving me the boot already? I’m borderline offended.”
Henry lets out a breath, the closest thing he can muster to a laugh, and gets into bed again, pulling the covers over himself.
“Of course not. I’d just feel even worse if you caught this because of me.”
Alex brings the container of soup over and sets it on the nightstand.
“I’m from Texas. We’re built strong. And besides, I always prepare for the con circuit. At this point I’ve probably got more Airborne than blood running through my veins. I’m good and I’m staying now shh, commercials are over.”
Henry shakes his head to himself as Alex focuses back on the screen and sits beside him now on top of the covers. Henry studies his profile, the sharp angles on a still soft face.
“You must be starving by now and if you aren’t, that’s all the more reason to eat. Here, try a bit of the soup.”
Alex leans over him and grabs the circular plastic container and takes the lid off. Vapors rise from it and it hits Henry then just how hungry he really is. Alex dips a spoon inside and brings it to his lips.
“I can feed myself. I’m not a baby,” Henry protests.
“No, but you’re acting like one. Now shut up and let me take care of you, dammit,” Alex grumbles.
“Your bedside manor could use a bit more work,” Henry says, but he obliges, leaning forward and taking a sip.
Alex’s eyes look anxious as he watches him.
“Is it good? I went with chicken noodle, a tried and true classic. But if you want something else, I could always—”
“It’s perfect, thank you. You’ve done more than enough, Alex. Seriously.”
He lets Alex coddle him and finishes the soup before taking some cold medicine and orange juice. They watch more TV though Henry doesn’t really pay attention to anything on the screen. His body feels drained again and he's glad Alex had been stubborn and insisted on staying. It’d be an even more miserable scene if he were alone.
He tucks in on Alex’s side and rests his head against his chest.
“I’m really glad you're here,” Henry says after a moment. He listens to the steady drumming of Alex’s heart as the man cards his fingers through Henry’s hair, his dull nails gently scratching against his scalp. It’s enough to lull Henry; he feels himself quickly losing the battle to fatigue all over again.
“There’s no place else I’d rather be. Get some more rest, sweetheart,” he hears Alex’s voice say quietly as he begins to drift. The final word hit Henry’s ear a bit differently. It’s not as if Alex has never said it to him before, but this time, it sounded sincerely affectionate. Romantic even.
His exhaustion and delirium must be at an all-time high and working together to make him conjure up the term of endearment Alex has never uttered in that particular tone before.

Columbus, OH
Day 2
“You missed the cast dinner,” Henry says almost accusatorily, setting his plate of breakfast and mug of tea down on Alex’s table the next morning in the hotel's dining hall.
“Hi, sunshine. Good morning to you too. Slept well then?” Alex replies, popping a grape into his mouth.
Henry frowns as he takes a seat.
“Alex, I’m serious. I just realized you were supposed to meet up with everyone last night.”
Alex shrugs and plucks another grape from the bunch on his plate.
“And yet the world is still spinning. The sun is still shining. It’s not a big deal. I see them all the time and you needed me more. It wasn’t a hard choice to make.”
Henry feels his face warm slightly at the sentiment.
“You didn’t have to sacrifice your night for me.”
“It wasn’t a sacrifice. I wanted to be there for you. It’s as simple as that.”
Henry pulls out a chair and sits.
“Well, thank you. I appreciated it.”
Alex smiles. “You look good today. I’m glad you’re feeling better.”
“Me too. Considering the fact that you bought up half the pharmacy, my immune system didn’t have a choice but to get itself in order. How much do I owe you?”
“And here I was thinking we finally moved past this. I’m not accepting any form of payment or payback for last night,” Alex says, spreading cream cheese on a bagel.
Henry smiles to himself.
“You’re infuriatingly stubborn.”
“I might’ve been told that once or twice before, yes.”
Henry laughs and decides he’s better off shifting gears.
“What would you like to do today? Are any of your castmates still in town?”
Alex shakes his head.
“Nah, not for long. They had early morning flights and should be at the airport by now if they aren’t already in the skies.”
Henry bites his tongue to avoid apologizing again.
“Perhaps we could hang out then? Maybe we could get lunch or do something fun before we kiss this city goodbye too.”
Alex grabs his phone and types something into it.
“Have you ever done mini-golf before?”
Henry laughs.
“No, I can’t say that I have.”
“There's an adventure park near here. Mini-golf, go karts…you in?”
“Are you an adrenaline junkie?” Henry asks, taking a sip of his tea.
Alex eyes him for a moment.
“I’m a fan of most things that get my heart racing. Surely you must know that by now.”
Henry tries and fails not to look affected. Usually Alex saves flirtatious talk like this for their lessons, when they’re in the privacy of one of their rooms.
He figures he’s overthinking it. Anyone passing by would simply think it’s an innocuous statement. Only Henry knows the deeper meaning of his words. It excites him, having this secret hiding in plain sight.
“That makes two of us then. I’m game.”
~*~*~
They unwind after a day of adventure in Alex’s room watching Crescent Valley. Alex gives Henry behind the scenes commentary on what it was like filming on the show and he takes advantage of the insights, letting his phone rest between them as they lay side by side in bed, recording all the stories so that he can add more color to the book.
Henry creates a new voice note and puts the show on pause, switching over to his running notes document.
“Can you talk to me about your journey learning about your sexuality?” he asks. “It’s such a key part to the memoir, I’d love to hear more about that.”
Alex pulls in a breath and Henry feels a bit guilty about switching gears so suddenly. In contrast to how easy it was for Alex to share on-set anecdotes, he seems unsure of where to start now.
“It used to be a distant, vague thing in my head. The first concrete period of time I can pinpoint is freshman year. I played lacrosse in high school,” Alex says. “And I was damn good.”
Henry can picture it easily, Alex in uniform, a complete rockstar on the field. He’s patient as Alex parses his thoughts.
“I’d get super competitive with guys I thought had an edge on me. I can’t really describe it. But sometimes I’d reason, if I could beat them, they’d be impressed and I’d get on their radar. I really don’t know how to explain it,” he repeats. Henry can hear the frustration. “I guess I was seeking some kind of validation. I wanted them to notice me and not just as an athlete.”
Alex sighs.
“I’ve only genuinely hooked up with one guy other than you. I’ve gotten wasted at parties in L.A before and I’ve made out with some dudes, but it was always something I could explain away like, I was drunk or just doing a bit. Messing around, you know? But then I’d think about high school and the way one of my teammates and I would kinda orbit around each other. It wasn’t…the same with him. With Liam,” Alex sighs and Henry doesn’t miss how soft Alex’s voice gets when saying his old teammates name.
“I didn’t get that competitive streak. It was different. More real. With him, it was like we were on equal ground.”
Alex shakes his head, toying with his fingers.
“We were good friends. We’d hang out a lot after practice or games. We kind of fell into it. I almost don’t even remember how or when I noticed it for the first time, the way we’d hold each other’s gaze a little longer than was needed. Or the way we’d make excuses to casually touch either other in almost stealthy ways. I guess it doesn’t really matter. Point is, it eventually came to a head. We’d be so hopped up on adrenaline after lacrosse most times and one day, one thing led to another and the next thing I knew, we were making out in my room.”
Henry studies Alex’s profile, sees the deep furrow of his brow as if, years later, he’s still trying to understand his actions.
“The first time it happened, I thought that’d be the only time. We were both kinda spooked by it, to be honest. After he left though, I couldn’t stop thinking about it…about how much I actually liked it and wanted it again. For fuck’s sake, I got off thinking about him and our kiss that night. That was the first time I ever got off thinking about a guy.”
Alex sighs.
“I saw him the next day at practice. At first, we kept our distance in the locker room. We went out on the field with everyone else, and played our parts well. Then he showed up at my house afterwards totally unannounced and it became a recurring thing after that. If we celebrated a win or if one of us had a shitty day at practice...we’d keep seeking each other out. It was mostly always just kissing. But every now and then, we’d touch. Nothing over the top. Hell, we’d mostly just get ourselves off together. I think I was too scared to touch him like that. It would have made what we were doing too real somehow.”
Henry listens on quietly, fully present in this moment with Alex.
“We… I chalked it up to goofing around. Just boys being boys or whatever bullshit I used to convince myself it meant nothing. Liam is actually engaged now to a pretty great guy. We’ve talked since high school, you know, about everything. I thought we were just messing around, but he told me how serious it was on his end, even back then. He’d always felt different than our classmates. He always knew this truth about himself even though he was afraid to say it out loud. He genuinely liked me as more than a friend.”
Alex frowns and collects his thoughts.
“Looking back on it, I feel like such an asshole. Liam had real feelings for me and I know now that I was attracted to him, but we were in two totally different headspaces when we were hooking up. Each time, it was reaffirming something for him. He knew fully that he was gay. For me, at the time at least, it just felt like a way of getting off and having fun. He felt like an exception to everything, an anomaly. I still went out with and hooked up with girls regularly, you know. I didn’t know what it actually meant about me that I was in fact drawn to both.”
Alex runs a hand through his hair.
“I’m glad he and I have had the chance to talk things through. And I’ve apologized to him several times, but it hardly feels like enough. I should have been more careful. I should have seen what that really was. I never meant to hurt him.”
Henry inches forward, his heart breaking as Alex looks at him with wet eyes.
“You’ve done all you can since learning the truth. It wasn’t intentional and I’m sure he knows that. Liam isn’t upset with you, right?”
Alex shakes his head.
“No, but he’d have every reason in the world to be.”
Henry places a hand on Alex’s.
“You can’t beat yourself up over this. You’ve made amends. You were just kids back then. This isn’t easy. You’ve got to give yourself some grace.”
There’s a distant look in Alex’s eyes as he blinks his tears away.
“Yeah. Yeah, you’re right and logically, I get that. Still, I can’t fully shake it. I can’t help but to wonder what my life would have been like if only I would have realized what it meant that I kept going back to him. Because I really wanted it with him specifically, but it felt like a one-off, like no big deal, you know? If I thought a few guys were attractive, I saw it as just having eyes and being observant. It didn’t feel like some life-altering thing. But in reality? The things I was doing with Liam, the things I wanted to do with him but didn’t have the courage to say…that was a huge turning point and I totally missed it. Sometimes, it almost feels like I was robbed. But it was my own ignorance that kept me in the dark for so long.”
Alex shrugs and looks away and Henry’s heart shatters at once.
“Anyway, that’s a conversation for me and my therapist. I won’t bore you with it any further now,” Alex laughs, but Henry can hear the pain in it.
He stops the recording. He’s asked enough of Alex tonight.
“It’s never a bore, a bother, or a burden. You can always talk to me. Even if I weren’t tasked with writing out your life’s story, I’d want to listen. I…perhaps it’s improper, but I sincerely do consider you a dear friend, Alex.”
Alex quirks a brow.
“Given the things we’ve done to each other’s bodies, I’d say friendship is the least improper territory we’ve waded into.”
This time Henry laughs as he concedes.
“You’ve got me there,” he relents.
Alex smiles softly and reaches for Henry’s hand.
“I appreciate it though. The offer and…you know, you in general. You’re helping me in all sorts of ways, it’s actually kind of crazy. I don’t know if I’ve even said thank you yet, for any of it. But I am grateful for everything.”
“You’re welcome. It’s nice to know I can be useful,” Henry says, aiming for levity.
But Alex’s face is serious as he shakes his head and laces their fingers.
“It’s beyond that, Henry. You’re essential to me. I don’t ever want you to forget that.”

Weekend Update
12/03/2023
Nerdie, you’re making this a thing now?
Yes! I have to keep ya’ll updated on what’s going on.
Well, what did you read this week?
Many wonderful things:
I will again sing the praises of @ramblers-lets-get-ramblin three part series “When My Time Comes Around.” You’ll feel all the emotions and be thankful that you read something that touches you deep in your soul. 😭 She also attacked my heart again on Frankie Friday with bittersweet angst in Tender is the Night. I'm a fan of the melancholic greatness that is Angie.
So...you like reading about sad things?
There's more to it than that. Just go read her fics! Then you'll know.
Tommy Miller fans unite! @musings-of-a-rose is continuing to feed our younger Miller brother delusions with her series “Falling Slowly.” The slow burn romance is one of the trope I really dig. And Gabriel Luna always. 🫠 Dig into some Tommy…
Nerdie, you’re doing so well, don’t jinx it.
I mean, I'm not wrong. Whatever, moving on...
I also read Honey Stained Hands by the sweet and deceptively naughty @undercoverpena too. Seems to be a Joel fix this week. Post-outbreak. The reader manages to make honey and different sweets in Jackson. Telling ya’ll anymore is a spoiler. Go read it!
There’s also another grizzled man this week. Tim Rockford who in the capable hands of the same writer @secretelephanttattoo who brought us Marcus Pike (Doughnut Debauchery) and the reason I’ll never look at doughnuts the same, I’m sure she’ll find many a use for his gun holsters. She began her new series “Undercover.” I’m throughly looking forward diving into more of the chapters as she releases them.
@linzels-blog wrote another Din Djarin fic that is equal parts sensual and sweet. It’s called Safe to Touch. I’m rather fond of our intrepid Mendalorian and him exploring his body with someone he loves is a treat.
Speaking of which, who doesn’t like baked goods? We’re also being fed by @avastrasposts as she starts her A Baker’s Dozen series with Pedro Pascal characters. Her first one is about our favorite trash cuddle panda Dieter Bravo. It’s adorable. 🥰 Such fluff.
Nerdie, you actually read fluff? This is surprising.
What do ya’ll take me for? I told you, 80% smut. This is in the 20%. Geez. 🙄
I will say though, this next one, 100% smut, not watered down, will burn your throat and you’ll love it and want more. You’ll want it other places. 😘
Welp, we knew it was gonna end here eventually.
Yes! @morallyinept had me removing my socks and pants in an effort to cool down, it did not help. I will think of this version of Dieter Bravo when I’m out at night. Heck, maybe as I walk across the parking lot to get in my car after a shift. That honestly would be the perfect time… long story short, wild back alley sex with both Dieter and the reader being complete and utter lust filled humans. It is called, Back Alley Bang if you enjoy Pedro Pascal characters smut, it’s required reading or at least highly recommended.
Anything new for you this week Nerdie?
Session Two of my “Sard’ika Sessions” will be out on early Wednesday AM in EST. Session One and all sessions will be linked to the Sard’ika Sessions Masterlist. I’m currently writing sessions 3 and 4 from my notebook because I wrote them down. Wild what you think of between the hours of 12 mid and 4am.
I finally started writing for our Pickled Peña prompt! I might even have it in on time. If you’d like to join in, see all the details here. I’m on the fence about smut, odd I know. 🤨
I also started a Benny Miller fic (likely fluff with food) and a Christmas fic with Joel and Layla (on OFC I wrote three fics on a few months ago - I love them very much ❤️). Joel and Layla are on my Masterlist.
Anything outside of fanfiction Nerdie? Please say that’s not the only thing you do. 🙄
I have a job you know. I actually worked this weekend. I visited my mom while she had a cold earlier this week. She’s very into Tom Hiddleston. Not a bad choice, I too appreciate his accent and baritone voice. She enjoys his dancing. 🕺🏽 I’d watching Loki with her and finally got her to watch Andor - she liked it but called it “low budget Star Wars” because she didn’t know any of the actors. I swear she’s so goofy. I love her. She also said that Andor grew on her like The Mandalorian and she wants to see more. I may be able to get her on board with both Lunas eventually. 😝
I’ve been working on my Statistics class. It’s difficult but I’m pushing through. 😵
Finally watched two Garrett Hedland movies this week! Country Strong and Four Brothers. The first was bittersweet but I liked it. He did sing a lot which was wonderful. The second one I’ve seen multiple times with little brother (he loved the movie when we were younger.) Garrett looked so young! It was from 2005 though.
Well Nerdie, your week sounds full. Good luck!
Have a great week everyone!
I jammed to while some music while looking at a picture of Gabriel Luna that @musings-of-a-rose sent me because she knows me well and is always willing to share: 😍
One of the songs was:
Stay safe and feel better to all those who are feeling under the weather,
Love Nerdie ❤️

Summary: When Frankie gets a phone call from his wife while at work, he at first thinks nothing of it before smiling and answering. What happens when it’s not the reader on the other side of the phone, but his crying, scared daughter?
PSA: Again I do not know Spanish or it’s dialects. I used google translate and some of what I or Nat {Editor} did know or what I have read in other fics. I only know solo se un poco, so if I have anything wrong at all please please let me know and I will fix it. I am in no way trying to offend anyone by the Spanish that is in this Fic.
Please refrain from stealing our work, thank you and please enjoy!!

Frankie’s Pov:
I jump and stir awake as my head falls slightly forward, making me wake up. I rub my eyes tiredly before looking back up at my wife. She stays still in the bed and I rub my face with a sigh before moving forward to grab her hand.
“Come on, mi vida {my life}. You gotta wake up,” I tell her as I continue to rub the sleepiness out of my eyes.
It’s been a few hours and it’s early into the morning now. The police did come by and I answered all the questions they asked me. As they had left, they told me they’d be back again to talk to y/n when she wakes.
The doctor has been in a time or two so he could run some tests as well as a few nurses here and there to check on her and cast her left arm. One nurse brought me food and gave me a sympathetic smile before leaving. Now it’s all just a waiting game on when she’ll wake up.
I keep a hold of her hand and pull it up to my lips to leave a kiss on the back of it. I stay leaned over with her hand held up to my cheek as I watch her face. I stare at her for a few minutes, just hoping she’ll give me a sign that she’ll wake soon. Then the door opens and the doctor walks in.
“Mr. Morales, I have an update,” the doctor tells me as he strides in with a clipboard.
“So there’s no internal bleeding and everything seems to be fine. She should wake soon, her body just needed some rest after the ordeal she went through,” he explains as he looks down at his clipboard.
“Oh, and I’m sure it’ll please you to know the baby is fine as well. She must have protected her stomach area somehow, seeing as there’s no evidence of her being hit there,” he explains and my eyes widen before I fully turn to him.
“Wait a minute. Did you just say… baby?” I ask in clear shock and his face falls.
“Oh, you didn’t know? Well, then, congratulations. Your wife is pregnant. She’s almost seven weeks in. So it’s possible she herself didn’t even know, but that wouldn’t track with her coverage of her stomach…” he continues to explain some more as I try to wrap my head around it.
“Well, I’ll give you some time to process it, but first we’d like to do one more scan just to make 100% sure the baby is uninjured. Would you like us to do it now or when she’s awake?” he asks and I take a moment to think about it.
“I’d like to wait for her, if that’s possible?” I question and he nods.
“It’s perfectly possible. When she does wake, just press the nurse's button and she’ll page me along with the officers from earlier,” he mentions as he motions to the button and I nod.
“Ok. Well, I’ll leave you be for now…” he finishes off before walking out.
Once he’s gone, I let the silence just wash over me before letting out a sigh as I sink down into my seat. It’s only a few minutes later that I jump when my phone goes off. Clicking it so it comes to life, I see that it's Pope calling and with one last sigh, I answer it.
“Hey, Pope,” I answer with a sigh before rubbing at my tired eyes again.
“Hey. How’s everything going?” he questions and I sigh again, shaking my head as I lean forward.
“Well, they say she has no internal bleeding and all should be fine. She should hopefully wake soon,” I inform and decide to keep the baby news quiet until I can tell him with y/n as he lets out a sigh of relief.
“That’s good to hear, man. How are you doing?” he inquires about me and I let out a huff.
“Not so good, but I’ll be better when she wakes up,” I tell him and he lets out a hum.
“That’s understandable, man. Will said that he was unable to clean up right now. Police have closed the house down for now. He told me to tell you he’ll clean it up as soon as he has access. The best they’d let him do is get a few essentials,” he informs me and I rub my eyes.
“Ok. Uh, I guess I’ll have to get us a hotel when we get out of here then,” I reply with a sigh and again he tisks me.
“No. No, hermano, don’t do that. You’ve got a place right here when she gets out if you need it,” he promises me and I shake my head, even though he can’t see me.
“Gracias, hermano {thank you brother}, How’s Isey doing?” I ask about my daughter as I scratch at my cheek, trying to change the subject.
“Well, Yovanna just got her to sleep about an hour ago. She didn’t want to sleep until you called her with news on Sweet Pea, but her tired little self just passed out from exhaustion,” he explains and I sigh, shaking my head again.
“Lo siento {I’m sorry}. I’ll come get her as soon as I can. We just have to get y/n to wake up first,” I promise and he gives me a tsk sound.
“Don’t be sorry. Like I said, we’re familia {family} and we take care of each other. Plus, I’m sure when your pequeño gremlin {little gremlin} does wake up, she’ll enjoy playing with her primas and primos {cousins}. Take all the time you need, Fish. Get Sweet Pea up and around again,” he almost demands and I could almost cry with all the support he gives.
“Gracias {thank you}, Pope. Will do,” I promise through a choked tone even when I try my hardest not to let my emotions get the best of me.
“Anytime, Fish. Call us when you’re on your way home, yeah?” he asks and I nod as I rub at my eyes, trying to will the tears to go away.
“Definitely. Gracias de nuevo {thanks again} Pope,” I give my thanks for the millionth time and I can only imagine him waving me off.
“Like I said, familia {family}, so anytime, Fish,” he reiterates and I nod again.
“Knock, knock. I’ve got breakfast…” The nurse, who’d said her name was Eve earlier, calls out as she comes in with food trays.
“Hey. I gotta go. Nurse just brought food,” I quickly inform and he gives a small ‘hmm’.
“Yeah. No hay problema {no problem}. At least someone is there making you eat,” Pope jokes and I give him a small chortle, much to my chagrin.
“Yeah. Yeah. Adiós, hermano {bye brother},” I rush out before hanging up on him.
I quickly get up and help Eve with one of the trays. She gives me a small smile of thanks before opening one.
“You can have this one. I brought the other in case mama wakes up and is hungry. She is eating for two now,” Eve tells me as she puts the other tray into the mini microwave.
“Oh believe me, I know… this would be my third,” I jokingly inform as I set the tray on the table on wheels before I sit back down. The nurse turns and raises an eyebrow at me.
“This is yours and your wife’s third? First of all, good luck with three. Two, congratulations! I bet the other two are little angels,” she chirps and I chuckle as I scratch at my cheek again.
“Thanks. Actually, my first child wasn’t with her. I had Camila with my first wife, then a few years after the divorce we got married and we had Eloise,” I explain and she nods as I lean back and cross my arms over my stomach.
“Your assumption is only 80% true. Both Eloise and Camila can be little monsters when they want to be. Lord help when they get together after a long time not seeing each other,” I inform her with a chuckle and a shake of my head in indignation as she smiles.
“Ahh, so this is only your guys' second?” she questions and I nod with a light smile, taking over.
“Although she’d say Cam was her first baby any day, even without sharing blood,” I tell her and her smile turns into a grin.
“She sounds like a wonderful mother. I’m sure she’ll be the same with this baby,” she comments and I hum in agreement.
“Oh, I have no doubt about it,” I agree with her as I look back at y/n for a moment.
“How old are your other two? If you don’t mind me asking,” she asks and I smile, shaking my head.
“No. It’s ok. I don’t mind. Eloise is now six, just turned six a few weeks ago, so that makes Camila about eight, almost nine now,” I explain and her eyes widen, making me laugh.
“Wow, they’re older then I thought they’d be,” she admits and again I laugh.
“Yeah, Cam was only about five months old when me and her mom got divorced,” I continue to explain and she gives an ‘ahh’ in return.
“How old was she when you got remarried?” she asks and I take a moment to think about it.
“Probably just about turning 2,” I inform and she nods.
“Well, good luck again. She’ll be a teenager soon…” she playfully jokes with me and I roll my eyes.
“Don’t remind me. I don’t know if I’m ready for that quite yet,” I groan out, rubbing my face and she laughs.
“I’m sure you’ll do fine. The main thing you’ll probably worry about is the boys…” she tells me and I shake my head.
“Well at least I won’t be alone in talking the boys out. I’m sure her Tios {uncles} will help me. All the boys absolutely adore both Cam and Isey,” I joke and she laughs while grinning.
“Well, she sounds like she’s got an army backing her up. How many uncles?” she asks and I chuckle again while shaking my head.
“Oh, that she does. They have three uncles who were all special forces, including her and me,” I explain as I point to y/n, then myself.
“Wow. Definitely got a good backup there. The teenage boys should be scared,” she jokes and I chuckle, nodding.
“Most definitely. If it was me, I know I’d be scared,” I joke back and she laughs.
“Anyway, this should keep the food somewhat warm until she wakes up. If it’s too cold, just let me know and I’ll bring something else. The doctor says it shouldn’t be too long now, so it shouldn’t be too bad,” she explains as she walks over and checks all of y/n’s vitals.
“Doctor’s right, her vitals are looking up. Getting so much stronger,” she informs as she writes it on the chart.
“Ok. That should be all. Just press the button if you need me, ok? I’ll come back for your tray when you're done eating,” she says as she motions to the button by the bed and I nod at her.
When she leaves, it's silent again. I slowly pull the rolling table closer before pulling the top of the tray off and sigh when I see the hospital food. I pull out the fork from its plastic wrap and take a few bites before just shoving it to the side.
The food now just sits on the side table as I sit back and rub a hand over my face. The heart monitor continues to beep and with every beep, a little more weight falls off my shoulders knowing my wife is still here with me. I sigh as I watch her face for any hope of her waking and before I know it, my head is tilting to the side.
I fight the urge to sleep for a little while before succumbing to it and falling asleep. It’s not till a while later that I’m woken up by some voices.
“He’ll be so happy you're awake,” I hear Eve's voice inform.
“Shh, we’ll wake him,” y/n giggles out quietly and my eyes jump open.
“Dang it! That’s just what we did…” y/n mutters as I look at her.
“Sorry, we didn’t mean to wake you. She just wanted her food, but you were out cold so she called me, wanting you to sleep a little more,” Eve explains with a shrug as she puts the food on the table in front of y/n.
“No. No. It’s ok. You should have woken me anyway,” I mumble out as I sit up.
“Baby, your back must be killing you,” y/n sympathizes with a frown and I smile softly at her.
“I could care less about my back, mi amor {my love},” I promise, shaking my head before moving over to grab her hand.
“I’m just glad you're awake,” I inform as I lay a kiss on her hand.
“Well, aren't you two just adorable? I’ll give you some space. Doc should be in soon,” Eve coos with a light smile and I nod at her before she fully leaves.
It’s quiet for a moment as I lean over to the bed with her hand in mine. I bring it to my lips and leave a kiss on it. I then pull it up to my cheek and just hold it there with my eyes closed.
“Frankie. Honey, is Eloise ok?” she breaks the silence and I nod with my eyes still closed.
“She's fine, mi corazón {my heart}. Perfectly ok. I got her out of there,” I promise her still with my eyes closed, afraid this is a dream.
“Frankie, baby. You can look at me,” she softly whispers as she caresses my cheek.
“I’m scared it’s a dream, baby,” I tell her and she lets out a small giggle.
“I promise you it’s not a dream. I'm right here, alive and well,” she promises and I sigh before opening my eyes once again.
“See, I’m right here,” she coos as she puts her other hand on my cheek and uses both to gently pull my face so I’m looking into her eyes.
“When Eloise called me… I… I…” I stumble over my words and y/n is quick to calm me.
“Shhh. Baby, it’s over,” she gently hushes as she rubs my cheek softly with her thumb.
“I’m so sorry I wasn’t home. I shouldn’t have taken that extra shift at the shop,” I choke out as I shake my head and tears start to fall.
“Hey. No. This isn’t on you. Not one bit, okay? Please, Frankie, don’t blame yourself,” she practically begs me, pleading with her eyes.
“Come here, babe,” she tells me as she takes her hands away from my face and pats the bed.
I slowly get up and she moves over a bit as I sit down. I put my arm around her and she leans into me with a sigh as she cuddles into my side. I kiss her forehead as we settle into a comfortable silence as we hold one another.
“Knock, knock,” the doctor speaks as the door opens and he comes in.
“Aren’t you two just the cutest,” he jokes as he looks at us while Eve rolls in some equipment and gives us a small smile before leaving again.
“I’m Doctor Faylor. I’m glad to see you’re awake. I’m just going to take a look over the bruising on your neck and then we can look at the baby, ok?” he introduces himself to y/n before asking, making both me and Y/n nod before I start to get up.
“Wait… you know?” Y/n asks me with her eyes wide.
“Yes, querida {dear}. I know,” I tell her as I sit back down in the chair.
“I told him. I thought he had known, but he didn’t. We weren’t sure if you even knew. Although I am sure you did since the wounds on your arms suggest you had covered your stomach,” Doctor Faylor explains as he puts his gloves on.
“Yeah… I knew… I was going to tell you after dinner tonight-” she starts to explain and I shake my head.
“Last night,” I correct with a light chuckle when she pauses and rolls her eyes at me.
“I thought after I told you we could have decided when to tell Eloise and others together…” she timidly continues to explain and I give her a smile, nodding as she reaches out to me.
“Ok. Let’s have you sit up,” Doctor Faylor gently commands her and she nods before letting go of my hand to use both of her hands to push herself into a sitting position.
She then swings her legs over the side of the bed and sits sideways. Doctor Faylor then uses his stethoscope to check her heart and lungs. He nods, pleased as he pulls the earpieces down and places it back around his neck.
“Ok. Mrs. Morales, I’m going to touch the bruises on your neck and I want you to tell me how much the pain level is from one to ten, ok?” he asks her and she nods timidly.
I reach my hand out and grab onto hers again, rubbing my thumb over the back of hers. She gives me a small thankful smile before Doctor Faylor is pressing lightly on her neck. He presses into it for a few more minutes and she flinches one or two times as she mutters out a light five.
“Well, you're talking and you only really flinched twice as well as telling me pain is only at a five. So I think you're better off than we originally thought,” Doctor Faylor explains as he pulls away from her.
“The bruises should go away sometime soon, so other than that I guess now we should check on baby, yeah?” he asks as he takes his gloves off before washing his hands.
He rolls the machine Eve brought in over next to the bed. He then rolls his stool over and takes a seat on it.
“Yes, please,” y/n replies with a grin as she slowly lifts her shirt as she leans back onto her bed again.
“Warning, this’ll be a little cold,” he warns her and she shrugs.
“I know. I’ve done this before,” she jokes with a giggle, making me shake my head in disbelief before standing up.
I walk around to the other side of her bed and she scoots over just a bit as I sit down next to her. She smiles up at me as she holds her non-casted hand out and I can’t help but to smile as I grab onto it. She lays our joined hands just under her breast bone before turning back to the doctor as he finishes setting the machine up.
He then picks up the gel and squirts it onto her stomach. She flinches just the slightest, squeezing my hand as she giggles.
“It’s almost hard to believe I was in special forces, huh hon?” she asks me and I give her a confused look.
“And why is that, Cariño {sweetie}?” I ask her and she giggles again.
“Well for one, I didn’t fight back with Hector and two, I’m all giddy and happy,” she explains and I shake my head, letting out a chuckle.
“Cariño, me encanta {Sweetheart I love}, I promise you this is how you’ve always been. Even when you joined the group way back when. Why do ya think your nickname is sweet pea?” I joke with her, making her roll her eyes as a nurse walks in and over to the doctor.
“Frankie, honey. I’m sure I seemed more serious at one point or another,” she tells me and I playfully roll my eyes, making her scoff as she hits my chest.
“Oh, of course you did, mi amor {my love}. What was I thinking?” I playfully roll my eyes, making the doctor chuckle as the nurse and him look at us.
“I know right?” she jokes and I roll my eyes at her.
“But really, querida {dear}. You’ve been out for almost nine years now. You're bound to forget about some of our old ways. I know I have… I don’t think I’d be able to do it now that I’ve been out so long,” I inform her and she nods, pursing her lips.
“I suppose you may be right…” she agrees, trailing off.
“May be? Honey, I’m always right,” I joke and she giggles.
“Oh, of course…” she playfully agrees and I chuckle, shaking my head in disbelief.
“I’m sorry for interrupting. I just had to give the doctor some information. Carry on. Congratulations on the baby,” the nurse tells us before she scurries out of the room.
“Ok… let’s see here,” Doctor Faylor speaks aloud as goes back to looking before turning the screen to us.
“All looks very well. This right here is the little bean. It’s still a little too early to know much, but baby and mama look very healthy so far,” he explains as he points out the baby:
“Would you like to hear the heartbeat?” Doctor Faylor asks and y/n’s face lights up like a Christmas tree.
“Wait, you can do that this early on?” Y/n asks in shock and Doctor Faylor nods while humming.
“Yes, we can,” he replies with a smile and y/n nods quickly.
“Then can we, please?” she asks and he nods at her.
“Of course. Let me just find it,” he promises as he moves the doppler around.
“Frankie, we're having another baby…” y/n turns to me with a big smile and for a moment I can’t help but to just forget about the circumstances of why we’re actually in this hospital.
“That we are, estimado {my dear} and I couldn’t be happier about it. Although this time, it better be a boy,” I joke with her as I rub my thumb over the back of her hand and she giggles.
“I can’t promise you that, honey,” she jokes back and I chuckle, shaking my head.
“Ayyy. Dios, ayúdame si conseguimos otra chica… {lord help me if we get another girl…}. That’s when I’ll believe in the curse you were telling me about…” I promise her and she giggles some more.
“Curse?” Doctor Faylor asks with a raised eyebrow as he starts to take pictures for us.
“Sí. She was telling me that her family is cursed to only basically have girls. I told her we’d break it cause I’m not getting stuck with all girls,” I joke with a smirk as she slaps my arm.
“Either way, you’d love it. You love being a father of daughters. Admit it. I know you do,” she tells me and I playfully shrug.
“Maybe I do…” I coyly agree with her and she giggles, shaking her head before looking back at the screen.
“Ok. I’ve found it. Here’s your baby’s heartbeat,” Doctor Faylor announces as he turns a dial on the side.
It goes quiet for a moment before we hear a small thump sound and a smile takes over my face. I involuntarily let out a sniffle and y/n looks at me.
“Awe, honey. You're crying,” she comments as she lets go of my hand to wipe at my face.
“I just can’t help it. That’s our child, mi amore {my love},” I say through my tears and she smiles even more.
“Honey, I know. It’s quite an amazing thing, isn’t it,” she tells me and I nod vigorously, making her laugh.
“Ok. Baby’s heart beats seem to be staying at an even 156,” Doctor Faylor tells us and I shake my head.
“Is that a good thing? They didn’t tell us that the last two times,” I ask and he nods while chuckling.
“Yes. It’s very good. Perfect actually. A good healthy range is between 140 and 170, so your little peanut is right in the middle range. She sounds healthy and strong,” the Doctor explains and y/n turns, grinning at me.
“Frankie…” y/n says in a tearful tone and I chuckle before hugging her.
“I know, mi vida {my life}, I know,” I softly tell her and she sniffles into my chest.
“Ok. Well everything looks ok with mama and baby. I took some photos and I wrote down measurements. They'll be in your file ready to go home with you when you sign out,” Doctor Faylor explains as he turns the machine off and hands y/n a towel.
“Ok. Thank you so much, Doctor,” I agree with a light smile as y/n wipes her stomach off.
“Now. I hate to ruin the happy happy moment…” the doctor speaks again, making me frown and shake my head.
“You didn’t ruin anything at all,” y/n speaks up before I can as she smiles at him.
“You actually made this so nice,” she continues and he chuckles before shaking his head.
“No. I know. I’m glad I could make your day a little better, but uhh, the police are here for your statement,” the doctor hesitantly tells us and my smile falls as silence takes over.
“They're out front. I told the nurse not to let them in until you're ready for them,” Doctor Faylor quickly explains and y/n nods lightly.
“Ok. Go ahead and send them in,” she tells him as she straightens up just a bit as she squeezes my hand.
“Ok. I’ll bring them right in. Just a moment,” Doctor Faylor tells us with a final nod before he walks out.
I squeeze her hand back before standing up from the bed. I let go of her hand just to walk around back to my chair, before grabbing back onto it. It’s quiet now as we wait and y/n sighs.
“Hey. You’ll be ok. I’ll be here the whole time,” I promise her and she nods just as the door opens.
“Hi, Mrs. Morales, I’m Athena. I’m here to take your statement,” the officer introduces herself as she walks in and comes to a stop next to me.
The officer then stays for maybe twenty to thirty minutes talking with y/n. She tells them what happened and I stay silent as she explains. As she recounts everything, I rub my thumb over the back of her hand, trying to keep her calm as well as myself.
Hearing all that happened makes my blood boil and I have to restrain myself from rushing out of the hospital to hunt Hector down. I’d use my past training as best as I possibly could to take him on for trying to lay a hand on my family. I’m quickly broken out of my thoughts when the officer hums as she puts her pen away.
She tells us she has all she needs and that she promises to put him away for good before leaving. Once the door closes behind her, y/n sighs and it gets silent again. I let it stay quiet so y/n can work though her thoughts before anything else happens.
“Frankie… can we go home soon?” she soon whispers out her question and my heart hurts for her.
“Por supuesto {of course}, mi amor. I’ll go talk with the nurses and hopefully get you signed out,” I tell her and she nods before sinking down into the bed.
I shake my head lightly before walking out of the room. Once the door closes behind me, I let out a puff of air before heading to the nurses station down the hall.
“Hi, sir. How can I help you?” the nurse sitting at the desk asks as she looks up at me.
“Umm, I was wondering if I could get the paperwork to sign my wife out?” I ask and she nods before quickly getting up.
“Of course, sir. One moment and I’ll have them ready for you. Would you like me to bring them to her room or are you wanting to wait here?” she asks me as she looks through a filing cabinet.
“Um, here if I could. She just needs a moment to herself, I think,” I inform her and she nods before walking back over to me.
She puts the papers in front of me before she grabs a stack of arrow sticky notes. She goes through and puts one next to every spot I need to sign before putting the sticky notes down. She hands a pen to me before taking a seat back at her computer.
I take it and make quick work of signing it all. When I’m done, I close the pen and pick up the paperwork.
“Here you go,” I tell the nurse as I hand it to her.
“Whoa, you’re quick,” she chuckles out as she stands back up.
“Yeah, well, my wife is ready to leave. I don’t want to make her stay longer than she has to,” I inform her and she smiles softly in understanding as she takes the papers.
“Ok. All looks good. You're good to head out whenever you’re ready to go now,” she tells me as she takes a quick look over it all.
“Ok. Thank you,” I respond before pushing myself off the counter and starting to walk back to her room.
I walk back, but take a moment to take a deep breath before opening the door. Once I feel a little more calm, I open the door and walk back in.
“Hey. We’re good to go whenever you want to, mi amor {my heart},” I tell her and she nods with a light smile.
“Thank goodness. I’m ready to be home with my baby,” she groans out and I shake my head, chuckling.
“Actually, miel {honey}, unfortunately we can not go home,” I break it to her and she looks at me confused.
“Why not?” she asks and I sigh.
“The police don’t want us back. They’ve closed it off as a crime scene. So I have plans for us to stay with Pope,” I inform her and she sighs before nodding.
“Ok. Let’s go there then, I guess,” she agrees and I nod.
“Ok. Let’s go then, if you’re ready?” I agree before questioning her and she nods.
“Do I have clothes to change into?” she asks and I shake my head.
“No. Sorry. I can have one of the boys bring you some. They have to pick us up anyway and I believe Will said he got some of our stuff from the house,” I tell her and she sighs before just agreeing with a nod.
“I guess that’ll work. All I know is I just want a normal bed,” she groans and I nod.
“Of course, baby, that makes total sense. I’ll go call Pope right now,” I inform her and she nods before sinking down on her bed while closing her eyes.

Seems like we’ve got something pretty solid for the canon timeline between Curious Village and Diabolical Box! I did not expect to really ever get this close to a 100% set timeline, and yet here we are. It certainly helps that we got the mention of “a few days after the mystery of the Curious Village was solved” (London Holiday) and “a few days earlier” (time between the moment Layton received Schrader’s letter and the moment he boarded the Molentary Express), and that Puzzle #030 of DB is here to give us a canon date! Going with the assumption that “a few days” means “between 3 and 5 days”, this reduces the number of possibilities by quite a lot.
You can find the full timeline here!
Also, in other news, I finished updating the dates in Stable Like Sand as well. I had a few oopsies due to the fact that I needed the fanfic to start on a Monday, but I eventually found a set of dates that works for both the canon and the fanfic! I will be going on the assumption that the SLS timeline, despite being a Canon Divergence, will still follow the same logic as the canon timeline in terms of events that do not depend too heavily on the butterfly effect brought on by the fanfic’s events; and the dates considered will be those in the leftmost green column (which is the “Not 100% Canon Date But These Dates Work Together” timeline). In that regard, I don’t expect anyone to truly have taken notice to it, but if anyone did: I apologise for the fanfic retcon and the confusion. SLS now takes place on August 22 instead of September 28, since it was actually impossible to make the canon timeline work by keeping September 28 😅 At least, let’s all be thankful that the retcon took place so early on in the fic and that aside from the date (and the fact that therefore Hershel will start teaching later, not right the next week), nothing else changed, whether spoilery or not. If you have any, your theories will not be affected in any way because of this.
For a little more detail regarding my canon timeline choices:
Thanks to Puzzle #030 of DB, it is 100% canon that Layton, Luke and Flora visited Dropstone (and thus boarded the Molentary Express) on August 12.
Layton received Schrader’s letter “a few days” earlier, and thanks to London Holiday, we know that this was a Sunday (It is a mystery who went as far as to pass by Layton’s office on a Sunday and personally give him the letter without actually showing their face, but since it is Sunday, I doubt that it was the mailman). I went with the smallest amount of days, aka 3 days, because I assume that after seeing Schrader seemingly dead, Layton wanted to board the Molentary Express as soon as possible. This means giving August 9 as the date for London Holiday, and this makes August 12 a Wednesday.
Curious Village ended “a few days” before London Holiday, and lasted for two full days + more or less one morning. I arranged the dates so that the first day would fall on a Sunday (I could not make it so that it would be Saturday unfortunately), coming from the basis that Layton probably intended for this case to be solved quickly and did not necessarily plan to spend the night there (he only checks in after the crank to the drawbridge disappeared and Luke and him literally had no other choice but to stay in St. Mystere until it was found).
Anyway, all that being said, I will now finally go back to actually writing the next SLS chapter. …assuming I don’t get distracted again and start reading exhaustively the Japanese dialogue I datamined—

Guardian
Well, I never thought I’d find myself writing fanfic, as I’m more of an artist, but here I am. This being my first fic, I think I did alright, and as for the fic itself, I don’t see enough stories of Ib and Garry in more normal scenarios, so I thought I’d do them justice. I might do more stories about them in the future, but for now, I hope my fellow Ib fans enjoy this.
Also, if you're you enjoy the family dynamic between Ib and Garry then check out my Discord server: https://discord.gg/ZkuC7C7y
Summary: An afternoon of fun at the park with Ib and Garry quickly turns awry when Ib's stuffed rabbit suddenly disappears. Update: 8/25/2023 I decided to make a few modifications to my fic. The only really noticeable alterations made was how the beginning plays out, but other than that, I mostly just changed certain paragraphs to describe things better.
A cool breeze flowed through the leaves, accompanied by the gentle warmth of the sun. Flowers bloomed in various colors, and the trees- which had appeared practically lifeless due to the harsh winter- had now grown lush and green. In addition, many creatures were also in motion, from the birds that chirped their tunes to the bees that buzzed about. For many, this was certainly a time to be out and enjoy such a beautiful and lively atmosphere. And a certain nine-year-old girl and a young man, whom she met through rather unusual circumstances at a particular gallery, didn't want to miss out on this opportunity.
Garry had been so busy with his studies and working a few extra hours at his job that he hadn't been able to babysit or visit Ib for the past few weeks. Needless to say, he was relieved to leave such stress behind for the day and spend the Friday afternoon at the park with his young friend once the school day was over.
Ib and Garry spent most of the time strolling along the sidewalk and taking in the surrounding scenery until they eventually came across the playground. Garry had thought that Ib wanted to play with the other kids; however, she turned down the idea. It wasn't that she disliked playing, but the rambunctious and frenzied energy of the children was overwhelming. So they instead opted to rest on one of the nearby benches.
Once the two sat down, Ib reached into her backpack and pulled out a storybook and, surprisingly, a plush rabbit. Ib said that her name was “Mirabella," and it was relatively small compared to the other plushies Garry had seen in the past. And this one, in particular, sported a light pink dress that made it stand out. Ib explained that she had brought Mirabella along because the rabbit had insisted on joining them. While Garry found her claim a bit humorous, he was willing to play along if it meant making her happy. As Ib opened the first page of the illustrated book, she glanced up at Garry and requested that he read it to them. It wasn't the first time he'd read to her, so he was more than glad to do so, as he genuinely enjoyed reading these little tales.
"…But Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail had bread and milk and blackberries for supper." Garry said as he closed the book and chuckled. "I think I did a fine job with my narration. Wouldn't you agree?"
Ib nodded and smiled at him. He then looked down at the stuffed rabbit sitting beside her.
"And did Mirabella like it, too?" he asked, gently patting the stuffed bunny.
"Yeah," Ib said with a hint of laughter.
"Good," he said happily. "My, I'm feeling thirsty after all that walking around from earlier, aren't you?"
Ib's muffled "Uh-huh" prompted Garry to scan the area. "Pretty sure I saw a vending machine around here…" he said as he continued looking before he noticed it a bit off in the distance. "Ah, there it is!" he said, pointing to it.
"You wanna wait here?" he asked.
"Sure," she replied.
"Okay, want any soda or just water?"
"Water's fine."
"Alright, just stay right there, okay? I'll be back in a bit."
She gave him an affirmative nod and smiled as he walked away. Ib turned her attention to the pond a few feet away from her while she waited for him to return, watching the ducks swimming in it, observing them as they occasionally flapped their wings or dived into the water. Her focus slightly adjusted to the ground when she noticed a vivid green frog speeding over the pavement. Ib had never seen one so close; the little creature's bright color held her interest while it hopped around on the sidewalk. Her gaze followed it till it veered off the concrete and into the grass. She couldn't resist rising to see where it was going; when she got too close, it dashed to the pond's edge and disappeared into the water. She felt somewhat let down to see the little guy leave in a hurry, but at least she had something to tell Garry when he returned.
As she turned around to head back to the bench, she suddenly felt her heart skip a beat, now seeing the spot where she and her stuffed friend sat wholly vacant. Panicked, Ib rushed over to it and tried looking under the seat. No luck. She was positive that her plushie had been placed there. She made an effort to search among some of the adjacent trees but came up empty-handed.
"Where could you have gone?" she thought, her worry intensifying gradually.
Shifting her focus to the children still running around in the distance, perhaps it wouldn't hurt to head over to the play area to do a little investigating. It wasn't as if she would be straying too far, and she knew Garry would undoubtedly have a panic attack if she weren't in sight. She just had to look. And she wasn't going to let some brat take something that didn't belong to them. Glancing over, Garry seemed to still be casually standing there, waiting for other people to grab their beverages. With that, she made her way over to the playground.
As she began her search, she first focused on the jungle gym, where most children flocked. She watched carefully as the youngsters raced their way across it, some climbing across the monkey bars by grasping them one at a time, to those that scaled the rock climbing wall and descended from the slide. After a few minutes of careful observation, she realized that none of these kids had what she was looking for.
With only the swing set and sandbox left to check, she looked around once more. However, the results remained the same. Apart from two kids swinging back and forth on the swing set and a toddler playing with their mother in the sandbox, there was no sign of Mirabella anywhere.
With a sigh and her head hanging low, she reluctantly turned back to the bench. Her only option now was to wait for Garry's help; she only hoped whoever took her plush toy was still nearby and hadn't run off with it.
Just as she was about to sit back down, she caught a glimpse of a much taller figure in the distance, obscured by the trees, with something white dangling from their hand. Not a second later, Ib sprinted at the sight, and as she drew nearer, the unmistakable shape of her stuffed animal came into view.
"Wait!" She shouted.
The young man stopped in his tracks at the sound of her voice and turned to face her. Once Ib made it towards him, she was panting heavily, but seeing Mirabella in sight brought her relief.
"Uh, what do you want?" he asked, irritated.
Looking up at him, Ib suddenly found herself unable to speak. The teen appeared anything but friendly, from his ripped and ragged attire to the slight scowl he gave her, was enough for her to realize that this probably wasn't going to go as well as she had hoped. All she could do now was look for words that wouldn't irritate him any further.
"Well, what is it?" he asked once more.
"U-um," she stuttered, "t-that bunny is mine..."
He glanced down at the doll and scoffed. "This is yours? You still play with wittle bunny dolls?" he said, sneering at Ib.
Ib looked down at her feet in an attempt to hide her reddened cheeks. Although this wasn't the first time she'd been criticized for still playing with toys at the age of nine, she didn't understand what the harm was. It didn't mean she was immature; if anything, she was very well-behaved compared to most her age.
"Tell you what, I'll give it back… after I have a little fun with it." he said with a smirk.
Ib did not like the sound of that, as he placed one hand on top of the toy's head with the other on its torso, giving it a slight tug. The very thought of what he was going to do next made Ib feel increasingly anxious, sending her heart pounding at an accelerated pace.
"You see, kid, I take any opportunity I get to grab whatever I want, and when I do, I like to... make improvements."
Now she knew for certain what he was planning.
"N-no!" Ib cried.
"You want it so badly? Come get it!" With a sudden yank, the plush toy was torn in two, its stuffing quickly descending to the ground, followed by its head and torso. Such a terrible sight made Ib fall to her knees in shock. Time seemed to stand still as she stared at the pieces of her beloved toy. Before she knew it, she felt a stream of tears sliding down her cheeks as she started sobbing quietly. The teen's laughter at the sight of her misery was audible, and she could tell this very much amused him. Why he decided to act so cruelly toward her was beyond her understanding.
To Ib, this wasn't just any stuffed toy; it meant so much more to her. For as many bunnies as she owned (gifted mainly by her father), she treated them with the same level of care as if they were her real friends, even giving each of them a name. Throughout her young life, she struggled to form bonds with other kids, so those stuffed friends of hers were all that she had to fill that emptiness. And now she sat in utter despair at the sight of one of them destroyed.
As she continued crying, the laughter came to an abrupt stop. A familiar voice called out her name, followed by footsteps charging in her direction and the teen's aggravated shouts. Blinking through her teary vision, she could make out a figure wearing a dark blue coat as he confronted the person she presumed to be the same one who destroyed her doll. The angry exchanges between them rang in her ears, escalating from verbal conflict to a full-on fight within moments. Wiping her tears away, she saw that her suspicions were correct.
"Garry!"
Garry glanced down at her, only to be struck in the face by his opponent’s fist, sending him back a few steps. He barely had a moment to react before he was met with a second punch to his stomach. The vicious blow forced Garry to his knees, gasping for breath. As he sat there clutching his abdomen, Garry's head was yanked up by his hair, and as a final assault, he felt a knee smash into his face from his attacker. Ib watched in horror as her friend helplessly lay there writhing in agony. She desperately wanted to help him, but her fears prevented her from moving even a single muscle.
The enraged teen made a sudden turn to face her, rage visible in his eyes. "You.. .you knew he'd come, didn't you?" he snarled.
Ib shook her head frantically, "No! I didn't-"
"Liar!" he spat. "Looks like you need to be taught a lesson too."
He began to advance towards Ib, his intent clear in his eyes. Ib instinctively took a few steps back as he drew nearer, only to trip over a stray root. In an instant, his hand clamped onto her collar, hoisting her from the ground and pinning her against a tree, causing her to yelp. Ib's eyes widened as she found herself face-to-face with him. While she didn't dare speak, her eyes begged him for mercy, but she could see nothing but the desire to harm her. Now that they were isolated from others, she knew that nobody would come to her rescue.
As she closed her eyes tightly and turned her head away to brace herself for the inevitable pain, she suddenly felt the man's hold on her quickly release, making her land hard on the ground. When she opened her eyes, she saw Garry grappling with her attacker as he promptly pushed him flat on his back. Instantly, Garry's fist connected with his face. He clearly hit the teen pretty hard as he cried out in pain, but was soon cut off as Garry delivered another strike to him. The next thing Ib knew, Garry's fists were a blur as he mercilessly pounded the man’s face. She sat there in shock and disbelief as she watched him; she had seen him angry before, but this... this wasn't like him at all. For once, she felt frightened of Garry, the same person who had always seemed so kind and gentle. It made her question for a moment if this were the same person she had grown close to in the few months they'd known each other.
"G-Garry…?" Ib said faintly.
Garry showed no sign of stopping. With each blow he landed, his fists grew increasingly stained with red, and Ib dreaded the thought of what might happen if she let this go on. Even if it was all out of a desire to protect her, the man seemed to have given up attempting to shield himself as Garry continued to pummel him. She knew she had to intervene somehow.
Taking a deep breath, she managed to muster enough strength to shout, "Garry, stop!"
Garry turned to Ib as he was about to raise his fist once more. Seeing how distressed she was, he snapped back to reality and slowly lowered his arm. As he sat over the young man, panting, he saw the amount of damage he had done to his face and felt somewhat regretful for his actions. With a sigh, he grabbed him by his shirt and glared directly at him.
"If I ever see you near Ib again, you'll be sorry," he said, shoving the man back to the ground and proceeding to get up.
Not a second later, the teen quickly got to his feet and staggered off. All the while, Garry stood there and watched, making sure that monster was as far away from them as possible. Once he could no longer see him, he turned to Ib. She was still a bit shaken up by his actions from earlier, making him feel worse than he already did.
"I'm sorry you had to see me like that," he said, feeling too ashamed to look at her. "I… I was just so worried about him hurting you; I just lost it…"
Ib's expression softened. Despite how he had acted out earlier, she couldn't blame him entirely for it. She knew how protective he could be sometimes. However, part of her wondered if he had been in conflicts like this before, but she didn't dare ask as it wasn't her business to know.
Looking at the crimson droplet slowly trickling down from Garry's nose, Ib felt an immediate rush of guilt. Realizing all of this was because of her absent-mindedness. She had always been taught by her mother to take care of her things, and now, the one time she forgets, she and her friend were put in danger.
"It's my fault..." she muttered.
This took Garry aback. "Wha? Ib, you didn't-"
"I got distracted and left Mirabella behind, and he took her," She interrupted, tears growing in her eyes once more.
"I'm sorry, Garry..."
Garry knelt down and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, don't be too hard on yourself. I know you didn't mean for this to happen." He lifted her head by her chin to face her. "Look, you just gotta keep an eye on your stuff next time. Okay?" Ib nodded and brushed her tears away, followed by a hug from Garry, hoping to put her at ease.
Once Ib had finally relaxed, Garry stood up and picked up the two halves of her doll. "I think I can sew her back up," he said as he examined it closely.
"Really?" Ib asked as her eyes lit up.
"Yeah, I think I have enough thread to do so. And I'll be sure to give her back once she's fixed."
Hearing that gave her a sense of comfort. Provided Garry had fulfilled his promise to return her handkerchief a few months before, she was confident he'd also go through with this.
"For now, why don't we grab some macarons?" Garry said with a smile and wrapped an arm around Ib. "You've had a rough day; you deserve something nice."

Senseless, Pt. 2
Previous | Next
Finally, three years later, I tested positive for COVID-19. Of course, I couldn't suffer alone, so @oftachancer humored me in inflicting the disease on Dorian so we could write Anders taking care of him (and falling in love). This is a 4-part fic which will post daily! You can follow the #senseless da fic to get updates. Written for @30daysofdorian!
I entered three separate rooms before I found the blasted kitchen. The man had two stoves. Two. Each one probably cost more than my car. And an entire walk-in refrigerator that was nearly empty. I could have fit my entire apartment in that kitchen, not even counting the fridge or the pantries. My little tub of Neapolitan seemed so lonely, sitting on its otherwise empty wide shelf. I stocked the groceries away, placing the various medicines I’d picked up in a line on the counter.
Something for the fever, the cough, the congestion. A veritable panoply of pharmaceuticals. I brought them back up with a large glass of water and a tablespoon, dragging a chair to Dorian’s bedside.
“How’s the patient?” I asked, as cheerfully as I could manage for two in the morning.
Dorian stared at me, bedraggled and somehow glamorous despite his red nose and the dark circles under his eyes. “My throat is staging a rebellion and the reading lamp is now officially too bright. How are you?”
“Tired,” I admitted, offering him pills and measuring out liquids. “But I’ll sleep after you do.”
“You’re welcome to the coffee. There’s a sealed container of a pleasant Antivan roast and a press.”
“Is this your way of asking for some?” I asked, tilting my head.
“It’s my way,” he paused to cough into a washcloth I’d given him earlier, “of offering you coffee.” He closed his eyes. “I’m quite capable of asking for what I want.”
“Good. Yes. Alright.” I glanced down at my hands. “I might make myself some, then.” I glanced down at the test waiting on the nightstand. Well. There was an answer, at least. “You tested positive, I’m afraid. But that means we know what we’re dealing with.”
“I followed all the protocols,” he sniffed, accepting the spoonful of cough medicine with barely a grimace. “I haven’t seen anyone but delivery drivers since the start of this bloody thing. Delivery drivers and one student, but we masked- Damn it, Colette.” He took the pills I handed him and the cup of water. “I should call and see how she’s getting on.” He peered at the pills. “None of these are the drowsy-making ones, are they?”
“The cough syrup is,” I admitted, “but you need the rest. If you try and work through this, it’ll take you three times as long to get over it.”
“…not work?” Dorian looked up at me perplexed. “What, at all? The virus knows if I’m thinking?”
“You need sleep,” I insisted, lifting my brows. “Much of the body’s repair mechanisms are most active during sleep. You should try to keep from doing anything strenuous, mentally or physically, for at least a week.”
Dorian continued staring at me, as though the sheer force of his personality might change the facts or at least my opinion of them. “…surely some activity is healthy. What am I meant to do? Stare at my ceiling?”
“Watch movies. Do a puzzle. Read something light, if it doesn’t make your head hurt.” I frowned. “It will probably only last a week, Dorian. What’s a week to a lifetime of working?”
It was as though I’d told him he would be in traction for months: the sheer horror in his expression. “I can’t be alone doing nothing for days.”
“…you need to rest. Really. It’s crucial.” I lifted my brows, then sighed. “…I don’t have another shift until Tuesday. I’ll need to leave to feed my cats but- I can stay with you if you-“
“Excellent, yes, thank you.” Dorian swallowed the pills and handed the empty glass back to me. “That would be best.”
“You really don’t like being alone, do you?”
Dorian shuddered. “I can’t imagine anyone does. This whole experience has been abhorrent.”
It had been for me, too, but for entirely different reasons. I felt like I’d barely been alone for weeks. I’d been looking forward to my three days off. Maybe I could rescue my poor, neglected herb garden. I simply patted the man’s shoulder. “I’m sorry. It’s been hard on everyone.”
“Yes, of course it has. People put on brave faces; I don’t see why. It’s miserable being chopped off from the world without so much as a by your leave. I had appointments and events planned. There was a lovely little cruise to the Rivaini islands I’d been planning for months. Then some little beastie comes along and there's panic in the streets and silence. Silence, even when you play as much music as you can muster-” He broke off in a coughing fit.
I rushed to the bathroom to fill his glass with water again. A pitcher. I should find a pitcher next time I ventured off into the maze. I placed the cool glass into his palm, handing him a tissue to dab at his lips.
“You’re alright,” I murmured. “Maybe we should save the speeches for another time.”
Dorian nodded, grimacing, and cleared his throat into his fist. “I appreciate your presence,” his usually velvety voice scratched as he spoke. “…if you let me know what you need, I will… place the appropriate orders. Which- ah.” He rolled to the side, opening the drawer of the side table and returned with a crisp stack of cash. “There you are.”
“…should I ask why you have a bundle of money in your nightstand?” I stared at the bills, blinking. Maybe I should make more extracurricular house calls.
“One keeps these things around in case the need arises,” Dorian waved a hand wearily. “Was it more? I can forage.”
“…Dorian, I wasn’t planning on asking you for anything. The groceries were only about forty bucks.” This had to be at least five hundred dollars. “I really don’t need you to pay me for my time; I’m happy to play nurse for a little while-“
“Medicines and the like are quite expensive and I’ve been given to understand people are spending thousands for toilet paper. Take it. I’ll only use it as tissues.” He sighed, cuddling under his blanket. “Could you put another cloth on my head? That was nice.”
“Yeah. I can do that.” I sighed, shaking my head with a chuckle. Sweet, the way he hugged the pillows, his usually immaculate mustache grown in and smushed against the covers. I always tried to keep from having crushes on my patients, but I was only human. Mostly. In this way, at least. “I can even do a step better, if you’d like.”
“Oh yes?”
I nodded, wetting the wash cloth again. “Just scoot down a little bit so I can sit against the headboard. You can rest your head in my lap. Keep your tissues handy.”
Dorian opened his mouth and closed it, hummed slightly, and studied me. “That’s very generous. Although, I should warn you, if you don’t think that counts as a strenuous activity, I’m afraid you’ve been doing it wrong.”
I laughed, surprised, then rolled my eyes. “I was going to massage your sinuses.”
“That’s the first time I’ve heard that euphemism. I did have a lovely tutor teach me to ‘play the flute’ when I was in secondary school.”
I coughed. That seemed like something to unpack when Dorian wasn’t on six different medications. Or to never mention again. “Oh, yes. Snot. The sexiest of bodily fluids.”
Dorian sniffled, blinking blearily. “It was your suggestion.”
“I meant it in earnest.” I laughed again, unable to help myself. “To help with the congestion. The massage,” I added quickly, “not the euphemism.”
“Ah, well. One easily trips into hope. A massage is also appreciated.” He shifted down the bed and looked up expectantly. “I was wondering what the tissues were for.”
“Dorian?” I asked softly, placing a pillow on my lap and running my fingers through his hair. I knew enough not to expect he’d feel the same after his fever subsided. Sickness could make a three look like a ten. “Ask me again in a week, if you’re still interested?”
He sighed under my hands, his silver eyes peering up at me. “Ask you… what, precisely?”
“On a date. Or a different type of massage altogether.” I smiled slightly, rubbing circles against his temples. “I’ve got a policy against seeing my patients, but since you’re not technically that- When you’re feeling better, if you still want to see me, I’m not saying no forever, just for now.”
Dorian’s brow lifted, his lips curling. “You can’t say no; I haven’t asked you anything.” He dabbed his tongue to his lower lip. “You can ask me, if you like. You’ve already turned me down twice. A third would be too much for my fragile sensibilities.”
“…twice?”
“Hmm. Yes. At Hawke’s Disco Ball and Varric’s reading. I’m not surprised you don’t remember. Insulted, but not surprised.”
“What, I-“ I stared at him, bewildered. Then frowned. “You were being- Oh.” Had what he’d taken for drunken jokes been- “You were talking about me?”
He chuckled, closing his eyes. “When I asked if you’d like to get a drink later? Did you imagine I was having a conversation with your shadow?”
“Excuse me, you didn’t use those exact words.” I lifted my brows. Something about how I’d intended to spend my evening? To which, like an idiot, I’d answered honestly: falling asleep to a tacky Wintersend movie with a bowl of ice cream. I had no idea he was even remotely interested in me. Why should he be? All he’d have to do is crook his finger and get anyone he wanted. “…I’m sorry,” I murmured, massaging the sides of his beautiful, beautiful face, feeling the heat rise in my own. “I didn’t realize.”
“Didn’t you?” He opened his eyes just enough that they were like mercurial crescents beneath dark thick lashes. “I’m rarely accused of being subtle.”
“Ah, well,” I chuckled, shaking my head. “I’ve always been a bit of a slow learner.”
“Unlikely.” Dorian watched me drowsily. “If you had realized… would it have changed your answer?”
“If I’d realized you honestly wanted to take me out-“ I met his gaze, as solemn as he’d been when he’d announced his impending doom. “I’d have said yes. I will tell you, though: I don’t really drink alcohol anymore. There are better ways to my heart.”
“Are there?” he asked, yawning into the pillow. “Like what?”
“The fact that I was the person you called when you thought you were on your deathbed.” I hummed, massaging the bridge of his nose, handing him a tissue. “Blow.”
He did, sighing pitifully. “The only other doctor I know is miserable and went into hiding a few years ago.”
“I suppose you’ll need to make do with me, then.” I squeezed his shoulder gently. “How’s your breathing, now?”
“I feel like I swallowed very sour brandy. Very strong, sour brandy. Is that breathing?” Dorian grimaced. “I do dislike medicated drowsiness.”
“It’ll help you sleep through the coughing,” I said, by way of apology.
“You know best.”
“I do.” I watched the furrow in his brow ease over long minutes. “Sleep well, Dorian.”

Notes for A Matter of Duty - Chapter 12 - Sweeping away the fog
This chapter brought to you by: so much whining about writing being difficult, a million adjustments to the outline, lots of cursing, too many episodes of the Writing Excuses podcast, and two weeks of migraine headaches and brain fog (not the fanfic writer's curse for once, just a chronic health condition acting up).
Why is the middle of a story so hard to write???
(Also, I want an award for continuing to work on this every single day despite the lure of Genshin updates. I still haven't started the 4.1 archon quest because I have self-imposed fic deadlines, damnit. Behold my self-control. No, I don't really know how I'm maintaining it. Using every ADHD management trick I have in my repertoire.)
Thanks again to PancakeBeast for beta reading! Also thanks to the Hidden Akasha Records Genshin fanworks Discord for helping with all my weird questions, listening to my rambles, and hosting writing sprints.
Notes and references:
A bu is 1/10th of a toki, the Edo-period hour. One toki is roughly equivalent to 2 hours (varies by time of year and length of day), and so one bu is somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes depending on the time of year.
The Hour of the Monkey is 4pm.
Japan's had a variety of different time divisions over the eras, even within the Edo period itself. I'm going with the 10-day jun here, each lunar month divided into thirds, for simplicity's sake.
Does Mondstadt have a tradition of time off on weekends? I have no clue. But taking weekends off is referred to as a Western phenomenon in Japan, even where they've adopted it, so I'm just going to say it does for the sake of this story.
The yatate is a portable writing instrument from Edo era Japan (and earlier!). It's actually a really clever design and comes in all sorts of shapes and forms.
Summary of the fic itself with content warnings, tags, etc so you can decide if you want to read it or not before you click on the link.
A Matter of Duty https://archiveofourown.org/works/47604337?view_full_work=true
A year after the death of Ayato and Ayaka's parents, the clan succession is contested from within and without. Kamisato Ayato will do anything—anything—to ensure the safety of his family and the stability of his clan.
But powerful supporters come at an unimaginable price. When Ayato's own sacrifices aren't enough, he is forced to involve Thoma in a web of intrigue and exploitation that will push them to the breaking points of their bodies, their minds, and their very hearts.
or: Kushiel's Dart meets Genshin Impact in a quick-scorch-to-slow-burn romantic drama of court intrigue, sexual politics, and sacrifice.
Note: Mind the tags. More specific content warnings will be given at the beginning of each chapter, and the story tags will be updated as needed. All characters in sex scenes are adults.
Rating: Explicit. It's porn with plot. Porn as a vehicle for plot, or plot as a vehicle for porn, you can interpret it either way. (I prefer: porn and plot as a vehicle for ~feels~)
Tags that I'm not actually turning into tags here, but it gives you an idea of what you're in for: Kamisato Ayato/Thoma (Genshin Impact), dubious consent but not between Ayato and Thoma, slow burn, sex ed, first time, self-sacrifice, humiliation, exhibitionism, oral sex, anal sex, bdsm, bad bdsm etiquette, rough sex, breath play, impact play, bondage, service kink, abuse, sadism, codependency, shame, guilt, jealousy, possessiveness, trauma, ptsd, dissociation, political sex work, or sex work for political maneuvering, or political survival sex work if that’s a thing, exploitation, blackmail, political machinations, political intrigue, no aftercare, maybe someday some aftercare, hurt/comfort, mostly hurt for a long time but eventually comfort, oblivious disaster gays, for such socially savvy people they are terrible at personal relationships, dominant Ayato, submissive Thoma, top Ayato, bottom Thoma, Ayato is incredibly parentified, Thoma has no sense of self-preservation, self-sacrifice isn't a contest but don't tell Ayato and Thoma that, it's like the snipe-the-check game at restaurants but with sex and politics, Kushiel's Impact, no really this was in my drafts for the longest time as Kusheline Thomato Fic, everyone's an adult in this timeline except Ayaka, she gets protected at all costs, original characters out of necessity, finding appropriate existing Inazuma npcs for some of these roles was impossible

Chapter 12 - Sweeping away the fog: Maneuvering, negotiation, and bumping up against unhealed wounds.
Chapter contains: Dissociation. Not much else I can think to warn for, really; let me know in the comments if I missed a relevant content warning for this chapter.

All Falls Away - Recap - Chapters 1-10
I recently updated my canon divergent Handers AU fic All Falls Away for the first time since I put it on hold last February. I know if I’d gone that long without reading it, I’d have a hard time remembering what happened in the earlier chapters, and not everyone has the time to reread nearly 50k words. So I thought it might be helpful for returning readers to post a little refresher of what happened in each of the chapters so far.
Of course, if you’d rather hold off until you’re able to reread, that’s great. I’ve revised all the early chapters anyway so hopefully you’ll notice an improvement! But if you can’t that’s fine. You can find the recap under the read more. Obviously, this post contains spoilers for chapters 1-10 of my fic so only read if you’re okay with that!
Chapter 1:
Anders arrives at the Amell estate. He knows he's been brought in to heal someone but doesn't know what he's healing. He's surprised upon meeting Lord Garrett Amell, when the first thing he does is dismiss all but one of his Templar accompaniment. Anders decides to wait for a later opportunity to escape but Garrett approaches him privately first, offering to assist in Anders' escape from the Circle, if he'll just stay long enough to help his brother first.
Chapter 2:
Garrett, who is an apostate mage himself, fears the risk he's taken in allowing a stranger with ties to the circle into his home but believes the risk is worth it if it means they can save Carver.
Anders is introduced to Carver and the truth comes out that he contracted the blight sickness during an expedition to the Deep Roads. Merrill, who was on the expedition with Carver, used her magic to keep the sickness at bay but wasn't able to cure him. She informs Anders that it's her intention to keep trying. They just need Anders' help keeping Carver as healthy as possible while she works out how to do it.
Chapter 3:
Anders discovers that Merrill is a blood mage and almost runs right then but Garrett convinces him to stay.
Chapters 4-5:
When Anders finds out that Garrett's sister Bethany is also a mage he becomes more sympathetic to their situation and promises her that he'll do what he can to help.
Chapter 6:
Anders offers to visit the gallows library to research the blight sickness. An obvious attraction has begun to blossom between Anders and Garrett but neither of them expect it to amount to anything. That doesn't keep Anders from flirting, though.
Chapter 7:
Anders looks for Karl at the gallows but doesn't find him. He finds out that Karl is being punished and can't leave his room. Later that night he gets drunk and vents about it to Garrett.
Chapter 8:
Garrett decides to write to Knight-Captain Cullen, requesting that Anders be allowed to visit his friend. Anders visits Karl but is frustrated when Cullen insists on supervising the meeting, meaning neither of them can speak freely.
Chapter 9:
Anders takes out his frustration on Garrett saying he took much of a risk in telling the templars about his relationship with Karl. They argue and things remain awkward between them for several days. Garrett talks to Merrill who asks him to go with her to visit her clan and ask for ingredients to a potion she believes will help Carver. Garrett agrees and Anders decides to tag along.
Chapter 10:
On their way to Sundermount, Garrett apologises for contacting the templars without asking Anders first. Anders admits that it wasn't truly Garrett he was angry with and is surprised Garrett put up with the way he behaved. They make up but the fact that Garrett still hasn't confessed his own mage status to Anders weighs on him.
