I just want to keep my job even though I don't know how to make memes. Buy our coffee. We've got holiday gifts for the coffee lover in your life.
Awesome Coffee is different because 1. we source our beans directly from small farmers collectives, 2. it's better and fresher than grocery store coffee, and 3. ALL of our profit goes to fight maternal and child mortality in impoverished communities, whereas almost all other coffee makes rich people richer, which is the dumbest thing that can be done with coffee (or other forms of wealth).

also it was super funny, in my training, my company was like "did you know, that being a few minutes late on your break can actually end up costing the company millions??! u don't wanna lose us money, right?" like actually i think your entire self is morally bankrupt and wouldn't exist in a fair and just society and i do so hope you lose all of your money to your employees

thinking about how my mom met bill gates before he was ultra rich and famous. I need to ask her about that meeting (she worked in PR at the time) because I forget what she said he was like. he does have better PR than others in his position, people even forget there was a time he was widely hated. also my mom met so many sickos in PR but the pay wasn't even good

How does it feel knowing Glitch is willing to give millions in free government money to already-successful Hollywood bigshots like Dana Terrace (who got off pretty easy compared to all the animators who lost their homes and had their art erased) yet couldn't spare a single penny for a small artist like you with extremely modest goals?
It feels great knowing that Glitch is extending a hand towards showrunners in a time when the animation industry has been struggling. With tax write offs, cancellations and shows being outright removed from streaming services, I’m so glad to know there’s a company who’s wanting to try their hand at and give industry showrunners a chance.
I don’t know what world you live in where animated showrunners are considered “successful Hollywood bigshots” or given millions in free government money, but it sounds a hell of a lot better than showrunners being forced to live paycheck to paycheck because— surprise!— being a showrunner in television animation does not pay as well as you think it does, and in itself is hardly comparable to celebrities who live amongst Hollywood. Even in some cases, those celebrities don’t make as much as they should despite their long spanning careers, experience or what have you.
Glitch does not owe me anything. I’m just honored they took the time out of their day to promote my crowdfund, promote Lumi in their Glitch Inn video and host an entire event shouting out other indie productions.
youtube
I’m not looking to be a charity case. I don’t even consider myself modest, considering the goals I had ended up being bigger than I thought them to be; though it ended up working out in the end. I’ve still got a pilot coming out, and I’m damn proud of that fact. I’m not looking to be pitied because a crowdfund didn’t work out. I tried, I failed, I learned from it, that’s all there is to it— and I’m happy that Glitch was there to give their support, anyway.

These hearings going on now and RFK is trembling, shaking, stuttering, and flailing as he is being ripped to shreds. Sheldon Whitehouse, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders are on fire exposing this fraud. He has an arrangement where he gets a cut of any successful lawsuit against medical companies and under questioning from Warren he refused to say he would stop profiting in this unscrupulous manner.
There’s something wrong with this guy that’s not being shared. The way he’s physically and audibly flailing is indicative of a serious medical condition. This man is grossly unqualified, deranged, and mentally ill. Decades of lifelong drug addiction have taken its toll. He makes Ozzy Osborne look like a model of good health.

"why is there no design in anything anymore" there aren't designers anymore. like that is the answer. there are maybe 3 people on the planet still employed in graphic design and they are paid less than half of what their time is worth

God bless the CN kittens 🫶🏻 It means so much to me that Sylus is finally getting what he's been denied for so long [bombastic side eye at Paperfold]. If only he could know how beloved he is... such a powerful contrast to the hateful way society has treated him in-universe since childhood ❤️‍🩹 (and also to the way certain people at Paperfold treat him 😒🫠 to seemingly have beef with their own character... very odd)

hey webtoon artists, did you hear that
your work is cheap to produce
everything you make is cheap and your labor is cheap and that makes it very profitable for companies like webtoons
it's as easy and cheap as just owning a tablet

i really forgot how much pushback tony got for saying that he didn't want to make weapons anymore. like not just "tony that's a bad call financially for the company" but like. ridiculing the idea, telling him he's not thinking straight. he's got three people in his life and two of them are saying this and the other one is his PA

I know a lot of people have various opinions about the resolution with ONER in Thamepo. I was mulling a little bit on why I liked it so much. And I think it's mostly because it's so smart in how it subtly jabs at the idol industry. Premika is hell bent on sending Thame to Korea to the point of practically kidnapping him, but has a sudden change of heart when MARS backs her into a corner where it's clear there would be a public relations problem to solve AND she also has artists that are simply not compliant who she would have to continue to put a ton of energy into pushing and manipulating because they clearly have no fucks to give about their contract and the consequences.
They wink and nod about owing the company money, but they already indicated earlier that these contracts are not fair for groups and I have to assume breaking a contract would not only make Thame and MARS poor, but lead to financial ruin. So it's only out of some magical goodness of her heart that anything like this could be even possible - the fact that it is so clearly not realistic IS the criticism. They pointedly mention that even keeping the MARS name is because she allows it. I don't think that's necessarily a factoid an average viewer would know and want explained, although it's not shocking at all, but still, they name it. We have been told from this drama that the company owns their songs, all their creative intellectual property, and even the group name. They are hugely indebted to them. Leaving them and going out on their own is almost impossible.
Having it go this way still allows the drama to give it that nice, happy vibe as it closes while being clear - MARS is happiest not dealing with that shit. The company will never care about their happiness first. It's that plausible deniability in plot that can plant seeds where we all are talking about this and what it means and what it's saying and still have it put on the screen by the obvious real life ONER.

Awesome Coffee is just better. Good Store has raised over $7,500,000 to fight maternal and child mortality, and we pay a premium to our farmers to get the best beans and support efforts to reverse deforestation. Plus no billionaires get richer.
