some of the habits different robins didnt realize came from Dick:
-Jason has kept the same stretching routine this whole time, even Dick has changed his, but Jason does the one that dick used to do in preparation for his circus act.
-When Tim taps his feet while writing out a report, he always taps out the same rhythm, the same one Dick used to do when he had to sit for long periods of time.
-Everytime Steph ties up her hair she uses a blue hair tie, they were the only ones around in the batcave when she needed one and then it became tradition for her. Dick used blue ones when he had longer hair because its his favorite color.
-Damian always rolls his right shoulder when hes standing around, he doesn't know why he does it or even notices that he does it. Dick injured his right shoulder years ago and it always needs to be stretched out or it gets stiff.

I am actually so serious I think it really messes with a childs creativity and joy to tell them to never make a mary sue OC. Like that unbridaled form of joy where you make a self insert OC who super cool and everyone loves them and they have every superpower in the world SHOULD be something a kid makes, it nourishes their ability to create things for fun and not be stifled by "oh but what if my character is too overpowered and cringey...". whatever

ok so i think that my favourite fantasy subgenre is The Inherent Tragedy Of Being Born Into Royalty. which mostly means that i like to read about gay princes but with some nuance
#ethically i am opposed to monarchies and empires. i think being born into a royal bloodline is inherently traumatising#which makes for the juiciest tastiest drama in stories obviously#either you become a bad ruler and people will suffer at your feet. or you become a good ruler and you no longer belong to yourself#how much will you sacrifice at the altar of your ideals?#It Compels Me. #“better late than never!” ahh post#this quote reminded me of ren's thought process during 2/2. its not supposed to reflect the canon dialogue. rather his internal monologue#had to adjust it a little to fit the context tho#anyway yea im clocking out happy shuake divorce day everyone#the fact that any reality where ren and akechi meet is always destined to end with akechi dying is so fucked up#persona 5 royal#persona 5#shuake#akeshu#goro akechi#ren amamiya#akira kurusu#lotus draws#something about akechi’s death always being a sacrifice…..its always so intriguing to me#like despite the fact that he embraces his identity as an assassin so thoroughly and even thinks virtue and righteousness is blithe#he still performs the most selfless act of all when he’s backed into a corner knowing he will lose#this could be read as a) he would rather go out on his own terms and die making a statement where he actively chooses to sacrifice his life#knowing that the enemy could never kill him in a way that matters bc he has never had an ounce of control his entire life#and for once at least he demands control over his death. if nothing else in his miserable life where everything was predetermined#OR b) deep down inside he still remembers the child he used to be who would idolize heroes and their justice#he may have been a villain his entire life but in that moment when he knows he’s doomed he’d rather let the “heroes” get the upper hand#by buying them time with his death. at least in one way he was able to live up the the childlike fantasy he so cherished#anyway yea auughh akechi….truly made to fuck me up

Mostly spoiler free summary of my viewing experience
#The boy and the heron#how do you live#studio ghibli#ghibli#in all honesty that movie was legitimately so fantastic and im like changed as a person#Story wise as well! It hits really hard if you know a bit about miyazaki and his legacy. Its a very personal movie i think#And you can feel it in every aspect#The eng dub voice actors were really good as well and the animation was beautiful as always#Also really loved the tone!!! The story really relied a bit on the use of negative space in both sound and pacing and i enjoyed that alot#in conclusion go read a article about miyazaki and his son and then go watch the movie it’s probably going to be one of my favorites#image id in alt
