the fact that alfred was the one to put up jason's memorial is so important to me

#daily isabeau#isat#in stars and time#isat fanart#isat isabeau#art#isabeau pre change i guess?#that's who the other person is if it's not obvious#i had a better version of this in mind but i couldn't find a good reference for the pose i wanted#anyway#do you ever think about how much isabeau's character is based around other people?#there's the obvious isafrin but most of his moments in the game as well as a lot of his personality is based on helping others#he didn't have many (if any) friends growing up#i think what he needed back then was a supportive friend who would be there for him always#so he changed and grew to be the kind of person he needed growing up#to be the kind of person that would have befriended him when he was on his own#maybe he believes the only kind of person that would have been there for him#is someone who doesn't think about themselves?#someone who always puts others first#is the only kind of person who could be friends with someone like him#and he didn't get that#so he became that#but it still feels like he's neglecting the lonely kid who needed him in the first place#i feel like he'd realize this eventually#but i'd love to see him when he's fully himself

Oliver's monologue is the stuff epic love poems are made of.
Every "I hated him" being over Oliver's villain persona, only to be interrupted by moments that Oliver loved Felix so much that it hurt.
The way he barely gets it out the first time, but keeps saying it over and over as if it will get easier to say if he just keeps repeating it.
Every "I loved him" being over shots of Felix looking happy and beautiful and radiant.
The "I loved him"s being said over the shots of Felix, mostly in the light, and the "I hated him"s being said over shots of Oliver, mostly in the dark.
Felix being synonymous with love, and Oliver, the one who couldn't measure up, the one who had to keep lying about everything and throw away parts of himself in order to measure up, being synonymous with hate.
"I hated him." No, Ollie. You don't. You know you don't. You know there's not one split second that you hated Felix. And that's terrifying.
"You loved him. You loved him. You loved him. By god, you loved him."
You loved him so much that you hated yourself and everyone around you. For not being what Felix wanted. For being what Felix wanted. For coming between you and Felix. For trying to take you away from Felix. For being the reason that you'll never have Felix.
It's everyone that wasn't Felix that you hated, because all your love was reserved only for him and you didn't have a drop to spare for anyone else. And even the torment of feeling this way was a privilege, because it was for Felix. He was worth it. All the tears. All the degradation. All the times you had to cultivate a false image of yourself to avoid losing him.
You loved him so much that he was your whole world.
You loved him so much that it broke you bit by bit until all you could do to survive was become him and his entire family.
Sir John rolling up his sleeves to do business and protect the family legacy. Elspeth with her shallowness and fake niceties. Venetia with her bitterness and selfishness, wanting to play with others' toys. Farleigh with his drug habit and cruel snark.
You'd absorb them all for every moment that they burdened Felix. For every moment they made him act cruel or shallow. For every moment they made him justify them to other people. For every moment they made him unhappy.
So that only pure Felix would remain. Felix without the weight of everyone's jealousy and expectations.
Because you loved him and nothing can bring him back and this is all you can do.

#mmm ok lemme just start w the tags then ill ramble#welt yang#hsr#honkai star rail#hi3#honkai impact 3rd#my art#ok anyways. i didnt have too many thoughts when i started it beyond “uni is killing me but i NEED to do my daily drawings”#some thoughts did go through my mind while drawing which determined the direction this went in#which is that this could be a badass heroic drawing but.. it isn't. this doesn't feel very happy does it?#it makes him look a bit lonely#but something about the pose and the red is ominous. like he's unreadable but theres something sad about it#the moon in the background has a bit of a double meaning - namely the actual moon and its purpose in hi3#as the final destination of the honkai and the story but.. him as well#and as a halo. i love that the three major organizations in hi3 are basically religious groups#and AE basically worships joyce and his legacy (!) and welt tries to fill that. i mean the title sovereign alone means like. absolute ruler#an untouchable figure in terms of power and control over their people#so i really like to give him some sort of fucked up fake halo. he can imitate a saintly figure but it dehumanizes him in turn#he even talks about humanity like he's not a part of it#what's left is some kind of creature mimicking divinity but becoming isolated and inhuman in the process#(gesturing wildly) THINK ABOUT THE COSMIC HORROR POTENTIAL OF BEING A HERRSCHER. HE LITERALLY PERCEIVES REALITY DIFFERENTLY. CMON.

The normalest.#Honorable mention for the character rankings: Lan Wangji! for “Most improved in rank”.#Sorry Lan Wangji fans but until the audio drama I honestly was...pretty indifferent towards him.#I think a huge part of that was due to the fact he's constantly paired up with WWX; who has *so* much charisma and steals the scene#But I've really come to like him a lot more since starting this project. He rose from mid-tier to being in the top ten!#Dishonorable mention: Nie Huaisang. Who fell out of number 1 spot and out of the top 5.#He just hasn't shown up a lot! And my rankings are fickle! They will probably change once I finish the third season!#My favourite comics are: A lot of them!
