Maybe seb and Lewis brought their small kiddos to Grampa Toto when Lance came home (both toddler Mick and 5 year old Charles would be so cute)
Maybe the told Lance that he would have two little brothers. Lance was making a list of things he would have to do again for the pups when he heard this. But seb and Lewis smell nice so maybe it will be okay no can't think that
Lance coming in to the house, asked about chores: he gets none. Asked about school: he can go to his old school. And more things. He keeps hearing that he can be a kid and that he doesn't have to do anything
The he remembers the pups. He has not seen them or heard them. So in the mods of sebs explanation about the homemade honey Lance walks out.
He looks everywhere but he can't find them. Maybe this is the first thing? Why didn't he think of the pus earlier? Has he lost them already?
When he finds Charles room he starts crying. Why would they hide their pups? If Lance can't find them how was he supposed to take care of them?
Lewis walks in the room not knowing what to expect. He has heard that Lance was a 'difficult' kid but he seems so nice.
When he sees Lance on the ground crying he stops.
Lance has heard him come in: I can't find them
Lewis rushes to reassure him that the are with grandpa and that they are fine. He doesn't have to babysit, he can just be a pup
Oh plss! Little Charles and toddler Mick going to stay at grandpa's so Lewis and seb can focus on getting Lance settled! Lance was described as 'difficult' which they know more likely means 'traumatised' and they want to give Lance their full focus for a day or two before bringing the other 2 rascals into it.
Lance keeps telling himself non to get his hopes up even though seb and Lewis seem really nice, families always disappoint! He is confused when he hears he gets to go to his old school, which is even a little drive away but Seb says he will drop him off every day no problem and lewis will pick him up after. They don't want Lance to start a new school again and lose his friends! And he doesn't get chores either, just gets asks to not make a mess and put his plates in the dishwasher, but he isnt expected to clean up after them too.
Seb taking Lance into the garden to show the beehives anx the honey and Lance suddenly goes pale and goes upstairs. He didn't look for the pups yet, didn't take care of them since he arrived 3 hours ago. What if they are hungry? What is seb abd Lewis will punish him?
Lewis is so confused when he finds Lance crying in Charles's room, poor pup babbling between hiccups and sobs that he can't find the pups and he is sorry, he will be a better babysitter! Lewis kneeling down and gently tugging him into his arms, telling him they don't expect him to care for the 2 younger ones, he gets to be a pup now too, their pup!
Lance qould be such a sweet big brother tho! Now that he isnt tasked with taking care of them, he gets to just play and cuddle with them when he feels like it, and they adore him!

Chapter 1
You weren’t quite sure you had heard Taehyung’s words clearly so you couldn’t help but stare blankly back at him as your brain tried to process the declaration. You couldn’t have possibly heard what you thought you heard. It didn’t make any sense.
It had been three years since you met Jae, who you thought was the love of your life; 18 months since you two had gotten married; 15 months since you got pregnant; 6 months since you had your baby; 4 months since you were diagnosed with postpartum depression; and, 12 weeks since your husband walked out on you.
Walked out was putting it lightly. He ran and you didn’t even hear the starter pistol. One day, after he refused, once again, to join you on your routine check-up with the pediatrician, you returned home to find him waiting for you with a short stack of documents. Legal documents. One executing a divorce; one signing over his parental rights; and, another agreeing to transfer you enough money to buy out his portion of the mortgage and four years worth of his son’s college tuition – an impressive feat given that the man barely lasted a year in any job and wouldn’t have the job he was in now if it wasn’t for you who had been editorializing his resume and sending it out to prospective employers. Since you also managed the household expenses, you weren’t sure how he had managed to secretly shell away so much money, or if he had perhaps come by it by some other means. Regardless, it was a monumental enough sum that proved he wanted nothing to do with you or with his child and that he was willing to put himself on skid row in order to get out of it. Perhaps, if you had a clearer head, you would have refused to sign the agreement and at least taken it to a lawyer. The amount was a lot for him in the short term, but it certainly wasn’t enough to account for everything he legally would have owed you and your son for. However, you were so furious, hurt, and offended that you signed your name then and there and swore that he’d never be allowed to recant if he ever wanted to have a relationship with Woori. Unphased, he left, with his copy of the documents, a single suitcase which couldn’t have possibly accounted for everything he owned but again, his desire to leave meant he was fine with abandoning his non-essential belongings… except for the Play Station.
In hindsight, perhaps you should have seen the signs, but you had been so focused on preparing to bring a life into the world that his late nights, passive aggressive undertones and general disinterest in you or your impending offspring went unnoticed. Perhaps you chose not to notice. Perhaps you rationalized that his attitude would change once he finally laid eyes on his child, and he and your relationship would return to some level of normalcy. But that sadly wasn’t the case.
Instead, he became even more distant and more unavailable. You blamed yourself for causing the rift and took pity on him that he had to put up with you, on top of work and the stresses of being a new parent. You thought daily if you could just hold on and just survive a little bit longer then everything would be fine. You would become the woman he fell in love with, you would shower him with all the passion and affection you once did, and life would become blissful once again. He didn’t hold on though. You found out days after he left that he had moved in with his new girlfriend, so chances were he hadn’t been fighting for your marriage for a long time.
After the anger had passed and you began to accept your new life as a single mother, you came face-to-face with the reality that you were lonely. You had moved to this city for work without intention of staying, but, after you met Jae you decided making a life with him was worth living permanently 10,000 kilometres away from your family and close friends. Most of your friends here were through Jae’s friends so you felt especially awkward to hang out with them, nonetheless risk Jae finding out you were a mess without him.
The only people you had really remained in contact with were Jae’s parents. They were disappointed and embarrassed by how their son treated you and how he could abandon their grandson; last you heard they had only started speaking to him recently. Mostly they desperately wanted to have a relationship with Woori and you were happy to allow that – they weren’t the culprits after all. You were pretty sure they were also the ones dropping grocery gift cards in your mailbox – a God send since between Jae leaving and your maternity pay, the household income had been cut so heavily. Despite them making you feel welcome, it still wasn’t a perfect support system; they were still Jae’s parents after all.
You were tired, broke, alone, poorly nourished on takeout food, and the house and yard was a mess. You still hadn’t lost the baby weight which made you feel like a failure and also made you say “what’s the point” to your regular personal hygiene routine. The more and more you sunk deeper into your lonely and dark routine of “just survive” the more and more anxious you became and the more you isolated yourself from the world.
That’s why when Kim Taehyung, one of Jae’s childhood best friends, arrived out-of-the blue at your door, you were trying your best to keep him occupied in the kitchen; it was a means to keep him away from the shambled living room, your form hidden behind the kitchen island, and a way to send him the message that he wasn’t to stay too long.
Nonetheless, you offered him some water and you two chatted for a while about the news, weather, and friend gossip – of course avoiding the topic of Jae. It was nice to have an adult conversation again and you were finding his company to lift your spirits. But why was he here? Taehyung definitely knew Jae didn’t live there anymore, and he had never stopped into see just you before – you were never that close. When you mustered up the courage to ask why he had come, his answer hit you like an anvil.
“Sorry,” you shook your head. “I don’t think I heard you right.”
“I’m in love with you,” he replied awkwardly as if he wasn’t sure of the answer; perhaps his insecurity is what made you misunderstand him the first time – or that fact that this news came out of absolutely nowhere.
“I--- are you sure?”
“I’m pretty sure.”
“Oh… since when?”
“Since basically the beginning,” he replied as if he was answering a question about how long he’s been able to ride a bike.
“Oh…” you couldn’t believe you were having this conversation so casually. You weren’t sure what you were supposed to do with this information. You certainly weren’t in love with him and you certainly weren’t ready to start dating again. But you liked Taehyung and wanted to let him down as gently as possible. Before you could formulate how to do that, he stopped you.
“Listen, before you say anything, I have no expectations. I didn’t come here to ask you to be my girlfriend. I know you’ve got way more important things than dating on your mind right now, I just…” he paused to collect his thoughts before he continued. “I just know a little bit about how difficult a time this can be for you. My sister went through the same thing and I saw how she struggled – and she still had a full-time husband at home.” You realize then that Taehyung was referring to your postpartum. “I also know you don’t have any family here and that you haven’t seen the women in a while. It’s difficult to feel alone…”
A crash interrupted Taehyung’s monologue as Woori chucked his toy car off the highchair and onto the floor. Unphased, Taehyung picked it up and cooed at Woori before returning it. Of all “the men” in your group, Taehyung had always been the best with children, despite not having any of his own. The scene made you smile a little.
“Anyway,” he continued as Woori began smashing his car against the tray again, “I worry about you and I just couldn’t let you go on thinking that you were alone and unloved. So, I came here because… I wanted you to know that… I love you.”
He shrugged his shoulders. His last statement made your chest tighten and tears threaten to form in your eyes. Even though you knew the love he was talking about was more than the kind of love you were looking for, it was true that it was something you didn’t even know you desperately needed to hear. Someone was on your side through all this.
“I’m not the only one, you know. The girls are all worried about you,’ he continued. “You should call them. They’re your friends too. None of us see Jae that much anymore anyway.”
The mention of his name instantly brought a bad taste to your mouth. Anger may have passed, but it had been replaced by disgust. The only saving grace was that it was coming out of the mouth of one of Jae’s best friends who had just declared his love for you…
“I also have something else,” Taehyung straightened his shoulders and spoke confidently. “I want to help you. Anything you need… cut the lawn, some fix it stuff around the house, babysitting… whatever. I’m at your service. Like I said, I have no expectations, I’m not trying to swindle you into anything, I just want to help.”
The statement instantly made you giddy. Taehyung was a good worker and the prospect of having help to complete all the projects and chores Jae “never got to” made you instantly feel as if a weight had been lifted off your shoulders.
Jae. That name came up again.
“I really appreciate the offer, Taehyung, but I can’t accept that. Does Jae know about…” you began but were uncomfortable finishing the sentence. What would Jae think if he knew Taehyung was in love with you? “What would Jae think about you around here all the time. I can’t come between you two like that.”
With a sigh, he responded. “You don’t need to worry about that. I don’t think Jae and I are friends anymore.”
“Did something happen between you?” you asked.
He shook his head no. “Nothing specific. I think the thing is he and I are really only friends today because we’ve been friends since we were kids. We are different people now. I don’t think nostalgia is enough anymore. So, don’t worry, you weren't what came between us.”
Even though you knew Jae didn’t deserve to have a friend as good as Taehyung, you still felt a sense of sadness for him at the loss. You wondered how the rest of the group felt about him. Perhaps Jae wasn’t doing that much better than you were; the thought was satisfying.
“I’m sorry anyway. Losing a friend is still tough,” you said softly. Taehyung shrugged his shoulders and the two of you sat in silence for a few moments.
“Anyway,” he broke first. “Like I said, I want to help. No expectations I’m just here if you need me.”
“Thank-you, Taehyung, I really appreciate it.”
“So, what are we doing today? Put me to work.”
You were a bit shocked. When he said he wanted to help you didn’t expect him to jump in so immediately. “Oh, no, no Taehyung, you don’t have to do anything. I’m fine really! I’ll call you if something comes up!”
“Would you really call though?” he raised his eyebrow.
You couldn’t lie. “Nooo…” you replied sheepishly.
“Well then, now is my only chance. If you’re not going to do it for yourself at least do it for me once. What were you planning on doing today?”
You paused for a bit as you considered whether or how you should shuffle him out of your house. But, despite the odd and somewhat uncomfortable declaration of love, the thought of having a work horse for the day became all to attractive and in a weak moment you answered.
“Well… I was thinking about weeding the gardens…”
“Done,” he interrupted you before you could recant.
“You really don’t need to do this. It’s a lot of work!”
“Don’t worry about it. I like to keep busy.”
“Well, Woori is going to sleep soon so at least let me help you,” you bargained.
“Nope. Don’t worry about it. I’ll take care of it and you worry about yourselves. Why don’t you take a nap too, I’m sure you haven’t gotten much sleep lately?”
You almost scoffed at the idea. “A nap? I don’t know that life,” you quipped. Taehyung’s face pulled in amusement.
“I’ll show you a whole new world, Y/N, where adults take naps sometimes because they need one.” You too smiled at his banter. He stood up and headed towards the door to get to work. Once again, the guilt of having an acquaintance doing free manual labour for you washed over.
“Taehyung…” you called after him. He turned around to face you. “Are you sure about this?”
“Positive,” he smiled. “Don’t worry. I want to be here. No expectations.”
“At least let me make you dinner? The least I could do is feed you… Don’t say no,” you finished sternly when you saw him open his mouth to protest. He shut his mouth and smiled.
“Sure,” he said before he exited and headed off towards the backyard shed.
The smash of Woori’s car hitting the floor knocked you out of your stupor.
Did that really just happen? You asked yourself. Did Kim Taehyung, one of Jae’s best friends really confess his love for you and is now kneeling in your flower bed?
It was true. You peered out the back window to confirm it. There he was bent over the patch of grassy dirt that currently resembled the unmanicured side of the highway rather than a garden. A small pile of waste had already begun to pile up at his side.
Woori began to fuss. Like clockwork he was ready for his meal and a big afternoon nap, so you tried to put any thoughts of what was happening outside away until he was taken care of and fast asleep. For the first time in a while you felt a sense of relief.
Forty minutes later, Woori was fast asleep. You had walked out to bring Taehyung some lawn waste disposal bags and some water. You were preparing to help him out but he shuffled you away and back into the house insisting you couldn’t bribe him with water. Back in the house, however, you couldn’t sit still. Something about having Taehyung’s energy around the property had made you restless, and you felt a motivation you hadn’t felt in a while to do something. You started out with the overdue laundry, and while the wash machine did its job, you moved onto wiping down the kitchen surfaces and sweeping the floors.
Normally you would have thrown the washed clothes in the dryer, but today, in the spirit of accomplishing more, you decided to hang out a load on the clothesline as well. Taehyung waved to you from the distance and you waved back. It was nice. Just the way you had always imagined yourself and Jae to be like on a sunny chore filled Saturday. You pushed the thought aside as you headed back into the house. Today you didn’t need to waste time thinking about him. Today you were feeling motivated. Today you thought was the day you’d be able to get everything done you had been pushing off. You could wake up tomorrow as if you had pressed a reset button. The thought alone was a huge weight off your shoulders.
A while later, exhausted, you decided to take a shower before Woori woke up. For, yet another, first time in a while, you actually enjoyed showering. There was no stress that Woori would need you or that it had to be over quickly so you could try to tackle another task you’d never get to anyway. You took your time and even used the near expired luxury shower items that used to be apart of your beauty routine.
Out of the shower, you felt relax and your body was a little sore from all the things you accomplished so far that morning, but the pain was satisfying; it was the ache of achievement. You decided to lay down for just a minute before you powered on through the afternoon.
You opened your eyes to the sound of Woori’s car hitting the floor. You snapped up in bed upset at yourself for leaving it in his crib. That’s when you noticed the room had darkened slightly. You must’ve fallen asleep. You were sure you had because you hadn’t felt this rejuvenated in months. You jumped out of bed and pulled your robe tight around you as you headed off in the direction of Woori’s room.
When you entered the hall, you heard his little laugh, but it wasn’t coming from the direction of the nursery. You followed the sound and when you entered the kitchen you found Woori sitting happily in his highchair and Taehyung seated in front of him playing.
“Hey! Sorry if we scared you!” he said noticing the astonishment on your face. “I came in an he was crying so when you didn’t wake up, I brought him out here. I figured you probably needed the sleep.”
“Shoot!” you exclaimed. “I didn’t even mean to fall asleep, so I didn’t bring the monitor with me!” you felt complete embarrassment. Taehyung must be thinking you’re a terrible mother. How could you not wake up when your child was crying? “When did he wake up?”
“Maybe ten minutes ago?”
“What time is it?”
“Quarter after five.”
“Oh my god, I slept that long!” your voice raised an octave.
“What’s wrong?”
“I’m sorry, I just can’t be taking naps, there is so much to do around here; I’ll never catch up; I can’t…” your pitch raised again as the anxiety that greeted you each day had come back for a visit. Woori let out a little whimper and his face contorted as he sensed something was wrong.
You began listing off everything you had wanted to accomplish that afternoon. You moved frantically around the kitchen, not sure of which direction you needed to be heading in and soon enough your eyes began to sting.
Taehyung stood up and clasped his hands around your shoulders. “Hey, hey,” he said soothingly. “It’s ok. A lot got done today, there’s no need to beat yourself up.”
You looked up to the ceiling and tried to blink away the tears. “I’m terrible at this, Taehyung,” you sobbed. “I don’t know what I’m doing, I can’t keep up. They’re going to take my son away.” The flood gates opened; another first. You hadn’t ever let anyone see how terrified you were by your new situation, but somehow here in front of someone you hardly knew, it all came falling out.
“Hey, no one is going to take your son away. You are doing a wonderful job. Look,” he encouraged you to look at Woori. “He’s happy, he’s healthy, he’s loved. You are doing a great job.”
“I’m just so overwhelmed,” you covered your face with your hands. “I never expected to be doing this all alone.”
“Look at me,” he pulled at your hands. “You’re not alone anymore. I’m here to help, remember? Anything you need. No expectations.”
“I can’t ask you to do that,” you sniffed.
“You didn’t ask, I offered. I want to. Please let me.” He didn’t look at you as if you were crazy, nor that he pitied you. He looked at you with empathy and it felt genuine. It felt safe and warm. What you really wanted to do at that moment was nestle into his chest and ask him to hug you; not in a romantic way - in a way that you needed to feel a friend, or a family member show you affection. You didn’t though. His declaration of love still hung in the back of your thoughts and even though he said he had “no expectations” you didn’t want to flirt with them. To your own surprise though, you nodded your head yes. Yes, he offered to help you, and yes, you were going to take him up on that offer.
“Good,” he smiled. “Woori and I are good out here for a bit. How about I start making dinner?”
“I said I’d cook.”
“I can do it,” he gave you a quick look up and down. “Go ahead and do whatever else you need to do.”
You weren’t sure what he was referring to, until you followed where his eyes had darted and realized that you were still in your bathrobe. Even though nothing had accidentally been exposed, you self-consciously tugged the neckline a little to be sure. That’s when…
“Oh, shit!” you made Taehyung jump a little. “I have laundry on the line!”
“Do you want me to go get it?”
“No,” you replied. “Nooo,” you replied again when you remembered you had your granny panties and nursing bras hanging out there.
Taehyung chuckled as you did. “I figured. Laundry is a private business. Now get out of here. We’re fine.”
A short time later, the three of you were seated around the kitchen table eating dinner. You were impressed Taehyung had managed to actually pull something that resembled a meal out of your cupboards.
I really need to go grocery shopping, you thought to yourself, but the instant you did you felt the anxiety swell at the prospect of braving crowds alone with an infant.
“Huh?” you asked. Taehyung had said something that knocked you out of your thoughts.
“I asked if you wanted to go for a walk,” he said again.
“Oh? Where are we going?”
He shrugged his shoulders. “No where in particular. Just around the neighbourhood. I like to walk after eating, it makes me feel better.”
“I don’t know. Woori usually gets a little fussy around this time.”
“We won’t go far then. Let’s do it. We could all probably use the fresh air.”
You considered saying “no” but after everything he had done for you today, and since you didn’t end up the chef of the night as promised, the least you could do was entertain a walk around the block.
Taehyung had been right. You did need the fresh air. The mucky part of spring was ending and the world was beginning to warm up and turn green again. Woori was perfect the whole time. He cooed and awed at the big, bright world around him; in fact it made you feel a little guilty that you kept him and yourself so cooped up all the time. He needed to be stimulated and you needed to start engaging with the world again. Having Taehyung around was nice too. You had someone to speak to and not just about how you were doing, but about the small things that you didn’t realize you missed talking about.
“I think I should do this every night. This is nice,” you thought out loud. Taehyung smiled.
“Anytime you want a walking buddy just give me a call.” A small silence fell upon you both. Not an uncomfortable one. But out of your fit before dinner, when in a weak moment you agreed to let him help you, you were unsure once again if you were comfortable doing that. Taehyung picked up on the mood shift. “Sooo… you have a lot of free space now that the weeds are gone. Are you planning on planting anything new?”
“I hadn’t really thought about it. I always envied people who had beautiful gardens, but I don’t know if I could keep up with one.”
“Well, we can find some plants that don’t need a lot of maintenance. How about I’ll pick you up tomorrow and we can go check out the big greenhouse? We can take a look, maybe pick some stuff up and we can plant them when we get back.”
The thought was lovely, but once again the idea of braving a Sunday crowd made you panic.
“Don’t ask me again if I’m sure. I’m sure,” Taehyung jumped in anticipating you’d try to get out of your new agreement.
“It’s not that, I’m just worried about taking Woori out. If he has a fussy day – I just don’t know if I can concentrate on him and shopping. I’m still haunted by the first time I took him to get groceries.”
“I’m going to be with you the whole time. Between the two of us we’ll manage. If he gets too much then one of us can take him outside or we can just leave and try again another day. No big deal.”
No big deal. How could three small words near relieve you of all your trepidation. He was right. No big deal. And he would be there with you. It wouldn’t be like before with a baby developing a fever while you try to muscle your way through a long line at the cash. You would have help if you needed it.
“Yeah, OK. Let’s do it,” you finally responded.
“Yeah?” he sounded almost surprised.
“Yes… if you’re sure you want to waste your Sunday, of course.”
“What do I have to do to get you to stop that?” he laughed. You laughed too. It may be unconventional, but whatever was happening between the two of you now you were realizing might not be such a bad thing. Friends help friends when they need them; and the one thing you really needed right now was a friend.

Soft and Bright (fic)
When Sai returns from his mission, Ino is relieved, especially since taking care of the baby by herself has been a lot of work.
Inspired by Ino Week 2019 Day 5:  Smile.
Read it on Ao3.
Ino awoke to the soft trill of birdsong and golden afternoon sunlight drifting through the open window of their bedroom.  She breathed deeply and stretched languidly.  She must have been asleep for hours.  It had been a long time since she had slept so deeply.
After a moment of basking in the peace, she kicked off the blanket and sat up, stretching again before standing.  The bedspread had rumpled beneath her while she napped.  She took the time to smooth it and fold the blanket she had used, tucking it into a stack in their closet.  She ducked into their ensuite bathroom to quickly run a brush through her long blonde hair and roll on some deodorant.  Finally feeling refreshed enough to face the current chaos of their lives, she left the bedroom, closing the door softly behind her.
Their house was unusually quiet, and she felt the need to tiptoe through it.  Peace seemed hard to come by with the new baby.  Inojin had turned their world upside down.  It was beautiful, and Ino loved him more than she thought humanly possible, but taking care of a tiny human was a full-time responsibility.  They were three months into parenthood, and she couldn’t even begin to think about returning to work at the hospital or the intel division.  She was much too drained.
But she also didn’t want to be away from her baby.  Every moment was a wonder.  He was growing and learning, and she rediscovered so many things through him.  She dreaded Ibiki’s impending ultimatum--return to work or lose her place in the intel division.  Part of her was restless to be back to her shinobi duties, but she was determined to hoard as much of her son’s time and attention as she could, however tiring it might be.
This desire was reaffirmed when she slid quietly into the living room.  Sai had returned only hours before from a three-day anbu mission, his first since the baby was born.  It had been challenging for both of them.  Sai’s body hadn’t transformed to carry and nurture a tiny human life for nine months, but he hadn’t been training as much when the demands of fatherhood took up so much time.  Ino had been nervous about being alone with the baby for three days.  Her mother and Kurenai had come around to help, of course, and her friends were eager to babysit if needed, but there was a level of support and reassurance only Sai could give her.  They were figuring out this parenting thing together, and they knew Inojin best.  The temporary absence of her partner had been challenging in multiple ways.
Ino wondered if Inojin had been able to tell his father was gone.  She had felt his absence in the ache of her heart and the worry at the back of her mind.  Had he and the baby bonded deeply enough for him to feel that ache, too?  She knew her husband had been worried about connecting with their son.  He had gotten the hang of genuine social interaction, but it was so much harder when the one he was trying to connect to hadn’t really learned how to express himself either.  From watching them together, Ino knew her husband had nothing to worry about.  Inojin was just as fascinated by his father as he was by her.  His increased restlessness the past three days made her believe he had missed Sai, too.
But now both were the picture of absolute peace.  She felt a little guilty for depositing Inojin in Sai’s arms nearly as soon as he had walked into the house.  The relief of having him home and uninjured had allowed her to fully feel the fatigue of the past three days.  Desperate for a nap and trusting her husband to watch over their baby (she loved her friends and family, but only her mother and Kurenai put her at ease when they offered to watch him), she couldn’t even remember if she had kissed him hello before disappearing into their bedroom.
The giant scroll propped next to the door and Sai’s pack dropped at the end of the couch was further proof that she had jumped on him before he got very far into the house, but both he and the baby were now out cold.  Sai had propped his head up with the couch’s armrest, a book in his hand resting on his thighs, thumb still carefully keeping the page where he had left off.  His other hand was cradling Inojin who was curled high on his father’s chest, his pale blonde hair tickling Sai’s chin.  Both were sound asleep, bodies relaxed.  The baby’s hands were curled into little fists, gripping his father’s shirt.
They made a beautiful picture, both of her boys relaxing together, and she wished she had the ability to paint like her husband so she could capture this moment.  She thought briefly of returning to their room to fetch the camera, but she didn’t want the click of the shutter to startle either of them awake.  Sai obviously needed the rest.  Besides, she didn’t think a picture would do justice to the smile hovering on his lips.
This was a rare smile, softer and subtler than the one he usually used.  She had always loved his smile.  It had charmed her before she realized it was his default expression, a long-practiced contraction of the muscles in his face meant to put others at ease.  She still loved that smile because regardless of its origin and purpose, it was a part of him, and she loved him.  But she loved his other smiles more.
There were surprised smiles, ones that cracked the mask of his face when his instinct and emotion coalesced into a joy that could not be contained.  Often these were accompanied by a laugh, which was equal parts surprising and endearing.  This was an honest Sai unafraid of himself or his feelings, and she always loved him stronger in those moments.
But her favorite smiles were the secret ones.  These she sensed more often than she saw.  They were subtle, the smallest curve of the tips of his lips, but they took over his entire face.  The blank slate slid aside to reveal a warmth and vulnerability that never failed to take her breath away.  This was a Sai flooded by love and wonder.  She could feel it when they were in bed together and he pressed his lips to her forehead.  She had seen it when he had asked her to marry him.  And she caught sight of it more and more often when he was looking at their son.
She knew what it was like to gaze into their baby’s blue eyes.  The world fell away and it became him and her, nothing more, simply two souls commingling in the infinitude of existence.  There was a peace in that curious space before understanding and remembrance, a space to simply be and share being with another, void of questions and worries.  She could glimpse that peace in Sai’s secret smile.
She tiptoed silently to the couch and eased the book from her husband’s grasp.  It was a manual on flower care, one of the many they had lying around the house.  Sai liked to read to Inojin.  He had heard somewhere that speaking and reading to a baby helped its cognitive development.  She’d told him that likely didn’t mean medical textbooks and mission briefings, but he had replied that it was more about the cadence of language than the content.  Besides, he still found small talk challenging, and trying to chat with someone who simply stared or gurgled in response was formidable.  She supposed there were worse things he could read to their son.
She bookmarked the page and set it on the coffee table.  Then she gathered Sai’s pack and his vest which he had simply dropped by the door.  She unclipped his tanto and leaned it next to his scroll.  Then she thoroughly checked his pockets for ninja supplies and ink bottles.  She had been careless once and threw in a load of laundry without checking the pockets.  It had been a disaster.  A vial of ink had shattered in the wash, leaving gray stains and glass shards all over the clothes and their washing machine.  Both of them had gotten better at checking their pockets after that.
She gathered the household laundry and sorted it into appropriately similar piles.  Then she dumped a load into the machine and set to work on some of the other chores that were easier to accomplish while the baby was otherwise occupied.  She changed their bedding, throwing the dirty sheets into another pile on the laundry room floor.  She watered the plants scattered throughout the house.  She took stock of their cupboards and fridge and made a grocery list.  She transferred the laundry to the dryer and put in another load.
She popped into the living room periodically to check on her boys and enjoy the picture of them resting together on the couch.  On her way to the bathroom to scrub the shower, she noticed Inojin starting to squirm.  He was just beginning to wake up, face scrunching while his eyelids worked to remember how to open.  His wiggling hadn’t yet woken Sai.  He really must have been tired after his mission.  She carefully lifted the baby off his chest so his nap could continue undisturbed.
“Hi there baby boy,” she cooed softly as she walked Inojin to the nursery.  His crib was still in their bedroom, but they had discussed moving it to the nursery as he was beginning to sleep more soundly at night.  Ino wasn’t sure she was ready for that.  There was something both convenient and comforting in being able to simply glance at him across the room in the middle of the night to check that he was okay.
“It’s nice having Daddy home again, isn’t it?  Yes it is.  Did you have a good nap with Daddy?”
Inojin was starting to make little grunts and noises that typically indicated he was uncomfortable.  She lifted him higher and gave his bottom a careful sniff.
“Oopsies!  Smells like someone need a new diaper.”
Ino continued with the baby talk while she wiped him down and wrapped him in a fresh diaper.  She tickled his tummy to make him smile and gurgle happily.  She loved Inojin’s smile, too.  It lifted his chubby cheeks and spread wide across his face.  He was too innocent to contain his raw, uninhibited joy.  She hoped he would always be unafraid of his happiness and continue to smile brightly.
When Sai wandered into the nursery half an hour later, cheek creased from the couch cushions and hair sticking up on the side of his head, Ino was rocking and nursing their baby.  She was smiling at him as he sucked, blue eyes meeting their mirror.  Her joy came across somewhere between Sai’s and Inojin’s, not guarded but tempered by the complexity of emotions gained with experience.  It was soft and aching and beautiful.
“Hey you,” she greeted softly when she spotted her husband in the doorway.
“Hello beautiful,” he replied, walking over to kiss her on the forehead and lean over her shoulder to look at their son.  She smoothed her husbands’ hair while he smoothed Inojin’s, poking their baby playfully on the cheek.  The edges of Inojin’s lips curled happily.
“How was the mission?”
“Fine.”  He shrugged and walked over to the dresser to find a burping cloth.  She wanted to ask why he had been so tired if it was simply fine, but it had been an anbu mission.  She was unlikely to get any more information and would have to be satisfied that he had returned safely and unharmed.  That was all that really mattered anyway.
When Inojin was finished nursing, Sai took him without a word, rubbing and patting his back while she adjusted her clothes.  It was so natural, and it reminded her again of what a relief it was to have him home.  They were a three-man squad--her, Sai, and Inojin--tighter than any Ino-Shika-Cho formation.  They functioned best together.
That night after Inojin had fallen asleep in his crib and she and Sai were wrapped together in bed, she apologized.
“I’m sorry I dumped the baby on you right when you got home.  You must’ve been really tired after your mission.”
“It’s fine,” he hummed, rubbing her arm sleepily.  “You were tired, too.”
“But I wasn’t on a mission.”
“You were taking care of our son.  That’s more important than any mission.”
She counted his ribs with her fingertips, something she liked to do since discovering he wasn’t ticklish.
“I’ll get up with him tonight so you can sleep.”
He just hummed in response, pressing a kiss to her lips and pulling her closer.
Somehow she wasn’t surprised when Inojin’s unhappy cries woke her that night and Sai was already at the crib lifting their disgruntled son into his arms.  He shushed Inojin quietly and began humming a song he had overheard Temari sing to Shikadai.  She was going to tell him to hand her the baby so he could go back to sleep, but he was already heading out of the bedroom to the nursery.  Before he closed the door behind him, she glimpsed his soft, secret smile pressed into their son’s hair.

Stay This Little
Tumblr media
REQUEST: from @wardley10 Hey love. I've a prompt that before Harry goes off on his solo world tour, Fionn and he are babysitting a toddler that the reader and Jack have together. You all met when you worked together on Dunkirk. Jack gives the guys instructions before he leaves for work and he also makes phone calls to the lads during the day (with banter but also being a protective Dad) to make sure his daughter's okay. A trip to the park, ice creams and feeding ducks ensue. Hope this makes sense. Thx xxx A/N: I didn’t know how much I needed this in my life until I started writing it. Thanks love! Title: Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift
“Mate, stop stressing, everything will be fine. You asked me because I’ve done this before, yeah?” Jack nodded and sighed, scrubbing his hand over his face. He’d rehashed his instructions for the fourth time, as well as handing Fionn a written copy and Harry was ready to throw Jack out of the house on his arse. “We get that you’re nervous leaving her with someone else, but she’ll be fine. She already loves us, mate and we’ve got your’s and Y/N’s numbers if there’s any problems-“ Jack looked at Fionn in alarm, cutting the younger man off.
“-which there won’t be because she’ll be fine,” Harry threw a glare in the same direction causing Fionn to raise his hands in defence. “Just leave before you’re late for the meeting.” Jack hated the thought of leaving Georgia, despite the fact she was two years old, he was so protective of his little girl and nine times out of ten, if he wasn’t there to look after her, Y/N would be. But as luck would have it, they were both required to work that day and they’d both stressed over who was going to babysit. Harry had kindly offered to step in, more like jumped at the opportunity to spend time with the little one, and without his knowledge, his wife had already asked Fionn due to being Georgia’s favouritest person ever mummy. His mind was somewhat eased knowing that there would be two sets of eyes on her and not just one. The little lady had already jumped on Fionn the moment he stepped through the door, poor Harry barely got a look in and Jack was all but forgotten, Daddy had been pushed to the bottom of her list of priorities. Jack grabbed his keys off the sideboard and lifted his daughter off the sofa from between the other two men, wrapping his arms around her and holding her tight. After a dozen kisses she started wriggling, “Daddy, g’off,” and she pushed his face away pouting. Jack’s eye crinkled with amusement at the child, he kissed her temple and squeezed her tight. “Be good for uncle Fionn and uncle H, yeah?” he stroked her hair as she ducked her head and nodded, eyes more focused on the small toy in her hands. He set her back down on the couch, watching her crawl onto Fionn’s lap and grinning at how comfortable she had become with his friends. It warmed his heart. “Right, Daddy’s off now Baby G, love ye’.” “Bye bye Daddy,” she squealed, kicking Harry away as he tickled her to distract her from Jack’s departure. “Ring me for anything, lads.” “Yeah yeah, bugger off.” A tiny gasp could be heard from Georgia as she smacked her hands to her mouth and looked over at Jack, “Uncle H said a naughty word!” “Sorry Gi-Gi,” he held his hand out for her, ready for her to give him a small tap for his behaviour. “Right, well she’s clearly in good hands, so I’ll see you three later.” Fionn raised his hand in acknowledgment and went back to watching Harry being reprimanded by the small child. Jack quietly let himself out of their home and rushed into the car to avoid being any later than he probably was already.
“No Gi-Gi! You have to rip bits of bread up love, don’t throw the whole loaf in, you’ll hurt the duckies,” Harry managed to grab the bag of bread off the child as her arms was raised ready to throw the lot into the lake. Her bottom lip trembled at the thought of hurting the animals, she hastily let go of the bag and clutched onto Fionn’s leg. The younger boy reached down and stroked her hair, he crouched down beside her so he was eye level with her and pulled her close for a hug, “Don’t be sad monkey, watch me yeah? Just do what I do.” Fionn reached out for a piece of bread from Harry and started to tear it into small pieces, throwing it into the water. Georgia’s eyes were wide with excitement when she saw the ducks all swimming forward to claim the food and began clapping wildly. Fionn handed the remains of his piece to the child and she shredded the bread, flinging it forth and beaming as she did so. Harry stood to the side watching the pair in amusement and snapped a picture to send to Y/N & Jack. She loves feeding the ducks, at least she does now we’ve stopped her killing them. Ps, think Fionn wants you to adopt him. Before he could even begin joining Fionn and Georgia, his phone had buzzed, alerting him of Jack’s reply; Tell Fionn that one child is enough, I’m not being responsible for a twenty-year-old, no matter how much my baby loves him. DON’T LET HER FALL IN THE LAKE Harry snorted at the second message but glanced up just to be on the safe side, making sure she was still safe and not ready to pull the younger boy in for a swim. Alright Papa Smurf. Fuck. Off. He grinned once again and pocketed his phone to join the other two who were rapidly making their way through the bread.
Georgia had all but dragged both men by their hands as soon as she’d heard the ice cream van music, giggling with delight as they shuffled after her. She stood beside the van clenching and unclenching her little fists, desperate for a treat. She knew damn well the boys wouldn’t be able to resist her cute little pouty face, something she’d definitely inherited from her parents, and that they’d give into just about anything she asked. Harry lifted her off the ground to show her the choices whilst Fionn pointed to different ones, which either had her scrunching her face up in disgust or nodding frantically with want. “Tha’ one,” she pointed out the Twister ice lolly and licked her lips, the sight a vision of hilarity for Fionn. “What do you say Gi-Gi?” “Peeeeeeeeeeas.” “Good girl.” Within two minutes of content eating, Georgia winced and cried out, “Owie, my teeeef.” “Careful monkey, don’t use your teeth, eat it like a lollipop, yeah?” “Uncle Fi, I have some of yours,” rolling his eyes in mock annoyance, he knelt beside her to give her some of his ice cream, completely unaware that the little lady had plans of her own. She took a lick of his before pushing it up into his nose, turning it white and sticky. Harry couldn’t stop the bubbling laughter in his chest, knowing they should be scolding her for that, but instead took out his phone again and snapped a picture. “Nice work Gi.” “No monkey, Uncle H means that was naughty, you little terror.” Despite his reprimand, he lightly put the ice cream to her nose in retaliation, laughing as she giggled. “I’s cold!” As Harry knelt beside them, Fionn quickly turned and did the same to Harry, including him in the mini ice cream debacle which would no doubt turn very messy, very quick. It took no more than three minutes for everyone’s faces to be covered, and the boys to chase Georgia after she’d grabbed the remainders of their cones. Her little legs weren’t about to stop any time soon.
Fionn collapsed back onto the grass, chest heavily rising and falling as he tried to steady his heartrate that had increased from chasing Georgia around the outside of the mini golf course. “That kid’s gonna be the death of me, I’m telling you,” Fionn wheezed, squinting at Harry and shielding his face from the sun. “Watch out mate,” seconds later Georgia launched herself on his chest, giggling with the excitement of their trip and no doubt from terrorising the young actor. He couldn’t help but laugh despite wincing due her weight dropping onto him with force. “Ouch Gi-Gi, be careful, you’ll hurt uncle Fionn,” Harry carefully warned her. She pouted and leant down to kiss his cheek in apology, “sorry uncle Fi.” “It’s okay monkey, I’ll let you off,” she lay herself down and rested her head by his neck, her eyes closing as she rested and Fionn rubbed her back to calm her. Georgia’s little hand stuck out in the direction of Harry for him to hold. He dropped down on the grass beside his friend and reached out to take hold of it, his other hand stroking her hair. After a few minutes, Harry caught sight of a couple passing them, smiling in their direction and muttering to each other, “what a lovely family you have,” the lady complimented. The older man lay confused for a minute before realising her implications. “No, we’re not – we’re the babysitters,” he stuttered out, gladder that she’d jumped to that conclusion rather than recognising who they both were. “Oh I’m terribly sorry, I didn’t mean to overstep. You all just looked very sweet.” “No worries, but thank you,” Harry smiled over at Fionn and Georgia resting their eyes, noticing the other lads mouth twitching. Bloody bastard. “Would you mind taking a picture of us for her parents?” “Of course not,” he handed his phone over to the woman and pinched Fionn’s side to alert him that he absolutely had to be involved with this. The Southern boy whined at the gesture but flicked open his eyes and smiled in the direction of the camera. When his phone was back in hand, and the couple had left, he opened his group conversation with Jack & Y/N. Best uncles ever. Sleepy baby got us mistaken for her dad’s. You owe us. We gave you our baby for the day, don’t pretend this was a favour on your part. Came the response from Y/N and Harry fondly rolled his eyes in response, knowing full well how true her words were. This was no chore, he loved kids and Georgia may be his favourite one yet.

(SFW) Mine- Underfell!PapyrusxAFAB Reader
This is @burntcookieskell‘s second part to their Papyrus commission! Thank you again for buying the slot!
Warning for: Captor/Prisoner unhealthy relationships, possessive behavior, mentions of abuse/punishments.
“Only time will tell where you end up, I suppose”.
Where you ended up, unsurprisingly, was still in Papyrus’ home. You’ve upgraded, though. You now sleep in a cot in his room. Your cage was put in the living room- a reminder that you can be placed right back in there if your “master” deemed it necessary. He definitely liked to drop that fact, whenever you started to get too bold.
You were also given a little more freedom. You were allowed to walk around outside- with supervision, of course- and could roam around the house when the skeletons were away. The doors were securely locked, and the guards in town were given strict instructions to watch the house closely, but it was better than nothing. Better than being stuck in a cage while Sans makes you watch bad tv.
Speaking of Sans, he was here to “babysit” you again. Aka, Sans will tell Papyrus that when asked. In reality, the older brother was lazing around and watching- as usual- bad movies. You were in the kitchen, cleaning up from Papyrus’ last pasta situation. You don’t understand how he makes such a mess while making lasagna of all things.
“You wanna get off of your ass and help me clean this mess?” You could hear the monster snort from the living room.
“Hell no. Boss usually cleans up his own mess, anyway. I don’t see why I should help you clean that garbage,” he laughed. You rubbed your eyes, sighing in annoyance. You figured Sans would say no. There was a small part of you that hoped otherwise, no matter how foolish that part was.
You grumbled, getting back down on the floor to try and scrape the burnt-on food out of the oven. That shit was caked on there. How this oven still WORKED was beyond you. You’re surprised Papyrus let the oven get this bad without even attempting to clean it- everything else in the house was nearly spotless. Except for Sans’ room. You’ve only seen it a couple times, but you smell it every time you pass by the door. It’s TERRIBLE.
You shuddered at the thought of them making you clean Sans’ room. Papyrus has said that was too much torture for even a prisoner of theirs, but you still worry you’ll be stuck in there one day.
You guessed it’d be full of old socks, mustard bottles.... Old food in general. You’re afraid to find out how many bugs are hiding out in his room.
“Eugh,” you groaned, shaking your head at the thought. That’s more terrifying than any punishment Papyrus could give you.
Speaking of Papyrus- as if he knew you were thinking about him- the door opened loudly. It slammed shut, the guard captain yelling at his brother for lazing about. Same as yesterday, and the same way it’ll be tomorrow. You really wished he didn’t come home yelling every. Single. Day.
The taller skeleton walked into the kitchen, pausing when he saw you on your knees. You didn’t bother looking up- you were pretending to be so engrossed in your cleaning to notice him. He scanned the room as you continued to scrape at the burnt sauces and food pieces.
The counters had been washed thoroughly. The floors had been mopped and swept, and every single dish that has been piled up in the sink was cleaned. Even all of Sans’ old stains from the table had, somehow, been buffed out. The table looked brand new. The only thing that was still dirty was the oven, which you were so painstakingly working on.
“Human,” he finally said, making you look up. “What is the meaning of this? Did Sans make you do his chores again?” You resisted the urge to scowl. That damn skeleton always makes you do his shit. You quickly shook your head, forcing yourself to stand. Your knees hurt and your legs were tense from lack of stretching.
“No, sir. I noticed how… burnt the oven was, and had intended on cleaning just that. Then I figured I’d just… go ahead and clean the rest of the kitchen, since it wasn’t… up to your usual standards,” you explained, wringing your hands nervously. He couldn’t really be mad that you decided to clean for him, right? That’s what you were here for- to do things for him. As much as you hated the thought, that’s what prisoners were supposed to do.
That, and you were bored as hell and needed SOMETHING other than television to keep you busy.
“Well… I am pleasantly surprised! I didn’t expect you to take the initiative on such a project without me saying anything. You’ve done well,” he said, gloved hand raising to pat your head. You let out an involuntary flinch, before giving a nervous smile.
“Uh… thanks… s-sir,” you stammered, not used to actual praise. That was a very odd occurance with the Great and Terrifying Papyrus. He only gave praise when it involved some violent bullshit you don’t pay attention to. Much to Papyrus’ dismay.
He likes to “show off” to you, for some reason. It’s like he thinks you ENJOY watching him beat up and/or possibly kill weaker monsters. You hate that you’re used to washing dust out of his clothes.
He moved his hand, going to sit at the table. He always does this- comes home, sits at the table, and does his puzzles in the paper. You sighed slightly, knowing he’ll be “secretly” watching you clean.
You simply got back down on the floor, turning your attention back to the oven. No use in focusing on the skeleton at the table- he’ll ignore you until his puzzles are finished.
Or so you think.
Unbeknownst to you, Papyrus was too distracted to fully complete his puzzles. He kept glancing up, staring at your backside- the way you sat on your knees in front of the appliance. Your grunts of effort definitely distracted him from the paper on the table. He felt his magic tinting his facial bones a dark orange.
He never thought he’d find a human- the repulsive creatures that doomed monsters to the Underground- so… alluring. When he first captured you, he never even thought you’d be more than a simple trophy to him. The Great Papyrus- captor and tormentor of humans! He was supposed to instill FEAR into this creature, yet they regard him as if he was just… a minor inconvenience, at best!
And here he was, pining after this… thing. This tiny, pretty thing that’s starting to keep him up at night. He hates how he’s reacting to them. He’s almost to the point that the need for them hurts.
Papyrus let out a frustrated growl, shooting out of his chair. He swiped up his paper, stomping to his room. You stared after him in confusion, not understanding where the sudden change in the skeleton’s mood came from. You let out a frustrated huff. You really hope he doesn’t take it out on you, later.
You also really hope you didn’t make him angry, somehow. Whatever he’d have in store would be MUCH worse, if that’s the case.
Up in his room, Papyrus tossed the newspaper onto the bedside table. He snarled in annoyance, running his hand over his skull, then bringing it down his face. He had to figure out a way to either get rid of these feelings- a captor shouldn’t have any feelings like this towards his prison- or… get you to really be his.
He could simply make you, yes, but that wouldn’t be any fun. What’s the point of any kind of relationship if you’re simply pretending to care for him? He’d know you’d only do it to keep him happy- and that would just infuriate him to no end.
Papyrus would have to resort to actually wooing you. He’s a master at dating- just as he is for anything, and everything, else! He would have to be subtle about it. He’d need you to want to be with him, not just doing so out of survival.
He remembers how much you liked Waterfall, despite the… Moldbygg incident. He never took you to the stone-gazing room. Maybe you’d like to see the glittering stones closer with Sans telescope? Humans like gemstones, right? They definitely do!
“I’m a genius,” he laughed, leaving his room again. He marched into Sans’ room, growling annoyance at the filthy space, and snatched the telescope. Papyrus made sure to check and see if there was any ink on the lens again. That prank gets old- very fast.
“I’m borrowing your telescope,” Papyrus snapped sternly as he passed Sans, who was too confused to respond right away. A faint “what” was heard from the older brother as Papyrus stomped into the kitchen. You had finally finished the oven, and were lounging on a kitchen chair to relax your tired limbs.
You looked up when Papyrus walked in, eyes flicking to the telescope bag in his hand. You gave him a curious stare. Since when does Papyrus care about stuff that needs a telescope?
“Come, human,” he said, sounding more pleasant than you thought he’d be. You were, immediately, suspicious.
“We’re going to Waterfall.” You resisted the urge to groan. You were so tired from cleaning- you really don’t want to go anywhere other than your cot. Papyrus seemed to notice your exhaustion.
“We’ll be taking the boat instead of walking, so you get to rest on the way there. Now, come.” You reluctantly followed him, but were surprised he cared enough about your comfort to suggest it. Maybe he was just tired, too, and was trying to act like he wasn’t?
You wouldn’t be surprised if he was tired- the guy only sleeps an hour a night. You’ll never understand how he has so much fucking energy. It’s like he’s constantly hopped up on energy drinks.
The cold air felt good, for once, when you two stepped out. Cooped up in the warm kitchen all day was terrible. You let out a pleased sigh at the feeling, your breath puffing out in front of you. Papyrus watched the cloud of air dissipate- it’s like he can’t help but watch every time a huge cloud comes from you. You find it strangely adorable.
The walk to the Riverperson was short, thankfully. You sat on the boat while Papyrus paid the cloaked figure some gold to get to Waterfall. He stood tall in the boat, always keeping watch for any possible threats. He almost never let his guard down- you should know. You’ve tried finding ways to escape, but he never relaxes enough for you to get the drop on him. You’ve half-given up by now.
The trip was short, and Papyrus helped you off of the boat when you arrived. He’s been strangely… nice today. Something must’ve put him in a REALLY good mood. You hope he stays like this for a while.
Papyrus led you down a path through the dimly-lit caves. He kept a hold on your wrist- for some reason. You assumed it was so you wouldn’t wander off. You didn’t blame him for being cautious this time around, after what happened the last time you entered Waterfall.
When he finally stopped, he let your hand go. You watched as he started to set up the telescope, looking around while you wait on him. You could hear the Mean Cream Guy’s music- his cart must be nearby. Man, you’d really love some ice cream right now. Papyrus has almost no junk food in his house, and Sans doesn’t like to share what he manages to sneak in.
“There,” Papyrus said triumphantly, standing up straight. You came over, seeing the old, worn telescope set up. He stared at you expectantly, making you nervous. What were you supposed to do? You were clearly supposed to react someway. What the hell is going on with him today?
The skeleton sighed in annoyance, crossing his arms. You shuffled anxiously, glancing down at his chestplate instead of his face.
“I brought you here so you can see the gems in the ceiling, human. Take the time to do so before we have to leave.” … He brought you here for that? Why- was this a reward?
“Is… this for cleaning the kitchen?” The monster paused, before laughing. He patted your head- slightly condescendingly, you might add- and shook his own.
“No, no- your reward for the kitchen will be different. This is…” He paused. He doesn’t… know what this was. He doesn’t want to outright say “a date”. That’d just scare you off.
You waited for him to say something, but he never really did. He just kinda… sat there, thinking. You frowned slightly, but decided not to question it. You’ll just.. take your freedom where you can, you guess.
You decided to humor the skeleton, and look through the telescope.
You can’t lie- the stones were beautiful. They shone like real stars, but were various different colors. Bright greens, blues, and purples… It was gorgeous.
You ended up pulling away from the telescope, looking up at the cavern ceiling in wonder. Even though you missed the actual stars, it was… a pretty substitute.
Papyrus watched you, seeing the lights shining in your eyes. His magic rushed through his face, no doubt darkening his bones a deep red-orange. There was no mistaking those feelings, now. He had to have you- to make you his.
Not that you weren’t already, obviously, but… he needed you to want to be his. He just had to figure out how. You, clearly, didn’t think too highly of him. Lord knows why you don’t think he’s as amazing as he actually is.
The skeleton was pulled out of his thoughts by you walking off. You were staring around, but had decided to start walking off. He followed you, taking note of the fact you were, subconsciously, heading towards the Mean Cream stand’s music. Perhaps you were hungry, after working all day.
Well… he kind of wants some, as well. Might as well buy a couple packages.
Papyrus walked past you, bringing you back to reality. He went over to the angry rabbit monster, buying two Mean Creams. The smaller monster tried to overprice them, as usual, but Papyrus knocked him down a few pegs.
The guardsman came back, thrusting one in your direction. You jumped at the sudden ice cream in your vision, before taking it. After opening them, you both ate the treats slowly. Very, very awkwardly. You really wished someone else was here- you’d be fine with Sans of all people.
You sat down on a rock, staying a bit away from the increasingly-frustrated skeleton. You could tell he was getting annoyed and angry with something, but don’t know what. Were you doing something wrong? Was he looking for anything that you could’ve done wrong?
The skeleton suddenly started growling, throwing his trash into a can nearby. He stomped over to you, looming over you aggressively. You flinched back, afraid he was going to do something.
He leaned down, hands resting by your hips, so he was face to face with you.
“You’re mine, understand,” he spat out, before he could stop himself. You reeled back in shock, startled and confused by the sudden change in attitude. He snarled.
“Answer me, human. You belong to me, do you understand?” You swallowed thickly.
“Y… Yes, sir-” “If any other monster touches you, they’re dead,” he snapped, standing to his full height. He was silent for a moment, simply glaring at the wall, before sighing heavily. He can’t do this. Anything he does, it’ll only come out as demanding and authoritative. Even if he tries to play the sickeningly polite courtship route, you’ll never fall for it.
“Let’s just go,” he said coldly, going to dismantle the telescope and stuff it in the bag. You stood, slowly following. You fiddled with your hands nervously.
“Am…” you hesitated. “Am I… in trouble?” He paused, before zipping up the bag. He stood, a deep growl in his chest.
“You will be if you don’t hurry up,” he hissed, leading you back to the Riverperson. You chewed your lip, following him closely. You didn’t want to get punished for something you didn’t even know you did. It wouldn’t be the first time…
The ride back to Snowdin was way too long, in your opinion. It was tense- not even the Riverperson said anything on the way back. You wish the boat’s owner would, at least, start humming to break the ice.
Papyrus all but pulled you off of the boat. You almost stumbled into the water, but managed to catch yourself. You had to jog to keep up with the furious skeleton, jumping as he slammed the door open. He simply stomped up to his room, tossing the telescope onto the couch next to his sleeping brother.
Sans woke up at the noise and action, tiredly watching Papyrus trudge up the stairs. You shut the door, catching the smaller skeleton’s attention. His brown bone raised, watching as you sit on the couch.
“What the hell happened?” You rubbed your face, sighing heavily, before throwing your hands up in annoyance.
“I don’t know! He took me to a cavern to see the gems in the ceiling- for a reward for doing well, I guess- and he was just… slowly getting angrier! At the end, he suddenly got furious, told me I was his, and then brought me back,” you huffed, dropping your head back against the couch.
“I don’t… understand what the fuck happened! Everything was going great, but then his mood took a 180!” Sans snorted, leaning back against the couch’s arm.
“Yeah, that makes sense. Papyrus is always… emotional”. You gave him a skeptical look. “By emotional, I mean angry”. Yeah. That makes more sense.
You sighed again, turning your attention to the tv. Maybe he’ll calm down soon.
But he probably wouldn’t, considering he was currently trashing his room in fury.
He can’t BELIEVE how STUPID he is! He just… threw all of his plans out the window- well… to be fair… he didn’t really have a plan for that.
Ugh… He’ll have to try something else. He doesn’t know what yet, but…
He’ll find a way to make it perfectly clear where he should stand in your eyes. You will be his- body, mind, and soul.

like there are certain multisaku ships that you KNOW will always have that third wheel or person(people that really support the relationship:
LeeSaku would have Gai-sensei. He’d be there everyday coaching Lee on being the proper gentleman for Sakura. (Sakura would be wondering how beneficial Gai’s advice is considering she’s never seen him in a relationship. Ever.) But he’d be there for the engagement, the wedding, and the babies too. Of course Tenten would be there as well! Sakura and Tenten would develop a great friendship over time, bonding over Lee’s exhausting personality (”Does he do that when he’s home too?” “Oh yeah, he wouldn’t be Lee if he didn’t do three-hundred squats before dinner.”) She’d also go crazy over their engagement and help Sakura with the wedding. Don’t get me started on the baby too. Tenten would be so excited to meet the little baby.
NaruSaku would have Iruka checking in now and again. Iruka was Naruto’s first real bond, specifically an adult figure in his life that really cared for him, so Naruto would always insist on Iruka visiting. Sakura and Iruka would bond over Naruto’s silliness and he’d totally sympathize with Sakura’s complaints about ‘ramen every night’ requests from her husband. The baby announcement would shock beyond anything. I mean, he’d probably freak out as he can’t picture Naruto taking care of a baby! Luckily, once she’s born, Iruka settles down and sometimes babysits. Naruto jokes that he’s a grandpa to Iruka’s dismay at such a (cruel) joke. lol
ItaSaku would have the lovable tag-along Shisui. At first, he annoys Sakura as he’s always teasing her, but he begins to grow on her as his own ‘special’ person. He often comes right into the house as Itachi and himself are pretty much brothers and eats dinner quite a bit with the newly-married couple. When Itachi has to refuse Shisui, it’s like kicking a puppy, but he gets why they want to be alone *wink* *wink*. Welcome to the world of dirty jokes that Itachi just accepts because Shisui’s his best friend. We can’t forget about Mikoto coming to visit every now and again to see how things are going. Sakura and Mikoto talk over some tea just chatting about life. Although she seems perfectly fine to Sakura, Itachi just knows that he’s going to get another interrogation on either a.) Why doesn’t he make more time for his wife. b.) Why doesn’t he help out more with the chores. or c.) WHERE ARE THE DAMN UCHIHA BABIES.
ShikaSaku would have the whole InoShikaCho trio. Sakura might as well be married to them all considering how close their bonds are. Chouji comes to dinner on a few occasions while Ino barges in to gossip about Shikamaru. Not to mention his mother visiting once in a while to spend some time with her son and his wife. Sometimes Shikamaru insists that Kurenai and Mirai come to dinner as well so he can check up on his little god-daughter. Put all of this together and they have their hands full of plenty of guests to entertain. And, very rarely, Naruto (as Hokage) will come to drop some paperwork off for Shikamaru or steal the poor guy away from Sakura in case of a ‘Hokage emergency’ as he likes to call it. Don’t expect any time alone for the two of them. Poor guys lol.
NejiSaku would be pretty similar with Team Gai showing up while the two are out. Sakura will listen to stories about Neji’s ‘amazing youthful tales’ from Lee while they were on missions. He’ll also get scolded by Tenten if she thinks he’s trying to act a bit too cool (guy can’t catch a break). Hinata will visit Sakura and Neji and he’ll act as host of their house to cater her to her because she’s the Hyuuga heir even though Hinata tells him she’s fine. After their son is born, they find themselves with even more visits from Hanabi, Hinata, and Hiashi and Team Gai to dote on their cute little guy. Neji feels a bit smothered by this, but he does like the attention on his child (I mean he is a gorgeous little boy). Still he manages enough to shoo everyone out, so Neji and Sakura can enjoy their own company.
(I’m just in a mood okay. These have been on my mind for a while and since I’m not drawing right now because of school I wanted to post something haha)
