Then call them best friends, Becky. Say it. Say that Jimin and Jungkook are connected-at-the-hip-share-a-single-brain-cell-soulmate-level best friends. Just like Jimin and Tae, right? Say it.

Actually, be specific and call them the closest duo in Bangtan, because at a minimum that’s what they are. Like, if you don’t want to say they’re each other’s real life best friend (meaning outside of BTS), at least say that they are closer to each other than they are to any other member — because you can at least acknowledge that, right?

And if you’re so sure they’re “brothers” then celebrate it! Stop pretending it isn’t special, call it a bromance! Ooh and ah over it, like people do when married male actors have a public bromance. Call them the next Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, the next Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey. (Even if, rather than publicly roasting and joking with each other; they are more often than not sweetly supportive and flirtatiously complimentary…That’s fine, call them a CHEESY bromance).

But nobody will.

It’s either, “ALL SEVEN of them are so close and love each other like brothers” or “Jungkook has such a big crush on Namjoon 🤭” or “vmin are still the closest, they have a song about it!” or “Korean men have skinship in their friendships, shippers are so weird, stop projecting your fantasies” but it’s never “ah, well, season 2 of that soft little show? No one is surprised. As expected from the best friends who enlisted in the military under a rare, special Buddy system. Jikook are jikook. Of course they want to hang out together 24-7.”

People flood to the comments section to (very mildly, with much restraint) praise their bond, but NO ONE will call it the closest in the group, even though it objectively is. Well, no one but a subset of the fandom who immediately get called creeps and weirdos and fetishizers.

No one but shippers will acknowledge their closeness and it’s so obvious why:

Because if you acknowledge their closeness, if you do anything but minimize and ignore it, it starts to look a whole lot like something else.

And people are too homophobic to allow that.

Jungkook and Jimin enlisting together under a Buddy system that no other idols in the same group have ever used shows closeness.

Jungkook and Jimin filming not just one but TWO seasons of a travel show that primarily follows JUST the TWO of them (when they are part of a band of 7) shows CLOSENESS.

Jungkook going to Jimin’s house after a concert to cook him dinner and then the two of them going out the next day to presumably spend White Day together shows CLOSE. NESS.

Jungkook going live in 2023 every time Jimin left town, and mentioning Jimin relentlessly and making him flat out the entire topic of some of the lives shows that Jungkook thinks of him when he’s gone.

Jungkook complaining that he missed Jimin when they were both busy, Jungkook saying he wants to film travel shows with Jimin until they’re 50, Jimin mentioning Jungkook in the letters he posted while enlisted alongside him, Jungkook’s voice giggling from behind the camera while he films Jimin’s dance challenge for him…

Jimin saying if he could take one thing with him to a desert island it would be Jungkook. Jungkook saying if he was a girl he’d want to date a guy like Jimin. Jungkook showing up with a hickey Jimin gave him because they got drunk together and Jungkook wouldn’t stop spinning him in his arms. The same arms he proudly carried Jimin out of a concert with, while Jimin giggled and blushed.

Jason Momoa and Henry Cavill? Tom Holland and Jake Gylenhaal? Selena and Taylor? THEY COULD NEVER.

Everything jikook shows us points to a best-friendness of EPIC PROPORTIONS at the LEAST. They should be the best friend duo that gets talked about the MOST IN BANGTAN. They’re so close locals should know about it. Not Jimin and Hobi. Not Jimin and Taehyung. Not Hoseok and Yoongi. Not Yoongi and Namjoon. Not Jungkook and Jin. Not the maknae line. Jikook have lapped all of them, and they have for years, but ESPECIALLY in the last 3 years.

And in the last two weeks? In the last two/three WEEKS???

If Jungkook and Jimin were a man and a woman the events of the last two weeks would be a HARD LAUNCH, and EVERYONE KNOWS IT.

It is only — I repeat: ONLY — heteronormativity that keeps the majority of ARMY from assuming they are dating. That’s it. That’s literally the only reason anyone in the fandom is even arguing about what they are right now. (Well, that and rival ships, which at this point should really only be referred to as patched-together inflatable rafts).

Call them just best friends. I respect that take! Some people don’t see the romance and tension and affection that I see, and that’s cool! Call them the best of friends.

But for the love of god stop minimizing their closeness. Stop pretending they treat anyone else in the band the way they treat each other. Stop pretending that they’re not choosing each other over and over and over again.

And don’t call them fake, or forced, unless you want to talk about the fact that everything we see about them is official content. Not unless you want to pry open the can of worms that is your parasocial relationship with them and acknowledge the hard truth that you actually don’t know either of them at all.

But one thing we know? They know each other. Like. Reaaaaallly well.

On 'Tatooine' from the Phineas and Ferb Star Wars Special

one of the most interesting things about p&f star wars is that it was disney's first project that they released with the star wars name. not a movie or a tv show, but a crossover episode of phineas and ferb.

and how fitting that their opening musical number is 'tatooine', a celebration of the iconic location.

tatooine is one of the very first places that 'a new hope' introduces us to. the first glimpse of the worldbuilding, the scenery, the score, all parts of star wars that have become iconic. they're integral to not only the fandom, but to the star wars legacy.

and tatooine is often remembered for the shot of luke skywalker, gazing out at the two suns and wanting more out of life. to luke, tatooine is his boring wasteland of a home.

but to viewers, tatooine was so much more. it was a whole new world, a piece of star wars that is maybe as iconic as the death star. when people think of luke skywalker, they think of him wanting more.

and phineas and ferb, by default, always look to make the best of what they have. the boys have a boring summer vacation, and they use creativity to make the most amazing summer vacation imaginable. they lost their airplane's wings? they used the rubber bands that were available to them. they get stranded on an island? they use their last remaining rubber band and a buffalo to slingshot their way back into danville. phineas and ferb are creative and optimistic, always trying to find the best of what already exists.

of course, they'd find tatooine awesome. look at all this cool stuff that surrounds them! all the cool stuff they can do! (which, mind you, parallels the opening theme song of the actual show as they list all the activities available to them) and they have each other, which is the most important thing!

and as the songwriters throw in references to actual (possibly overlooked) star wars lore, 'tatooine' acts as many things.

- a parallel to the opening theme of 'phineas and ferb'

- a distinct parallel between luke's disdain of tatooine and phineas' love of it

- an introduction to phineas and ferb as characters and their mindset

- a love letter to 'star wars' and all that the original team created in their legacy

- a celebration of 'star wars'

- a banger opening tbh. like...it goes so hard and for what? those trumpets are amazing!

- an optimistic opening to a new chapter of star wars under disney. saying, 'we love your work, and we're so happy to be working with you! we can't wait for the future!'

and we can all have our takes on how well disney is handling star wars but this was so optimistic and loving. 'tatooine' is easily in my top ten p&f songs

SILLY IDEA AHEAD!!!

For like a month now ive had an idea for a small utmv animated series based on new years.

This is gonna sound very silly:

Right after the Christmas party, a mysterious letter is sent out to multiple different outcode sans aus:

Classic/Swap/fell/nightmare's gang/ink/ error and so on.

The letter invited everyone to help organize a new years festival on the surface of an empty au, an au without any trace of life,no human or monster.

Everyone had a reason to attend, the star sanses wanted to invite as many other sans aus as possible, nightmare was plotting something to destroy the festival and cause as much chaos as possible, that however is thrown out the window when he starts sensing a huge amount of negativity lurking in the shadows.

On the other hand, shattered dream (yeah shattered is here lmao), is also trying to ruin the festival for shits and giggles and ends up investigating the source of the negativity, with swad , yeah swad is here too.

Eventually the sanses start to notice strange things, locations and objects are changing, the doodle sphere starts looking strange, aus are becoming harder to access and everything is starting to twist , error discovers that the letter is actually an algorithm, meant to send itself to multiple sanses at the same time.

With everyone distracted with the festival preparation, no one seems to notice that the multiverse is slowly falling apart.

So who sent the letter? What's the purpose of the festival? and what's the cause of the rampant negativity despite the happy mood with new years approaching?

Now add to this a shit ton of character interaction and a whole lot of shipping material, the mtt being silly, and everyone being mostly their canon self, and a bunch of different sides to the same story and you an absolute shit show.

Things may change in the story, I actually don't know if I'll ever get to even make this, I lack both time and skill, and yet I have so many ideas it's killing me, oh well, only time will tell where I'll go with this.

The surviving six Source Dragons have entered into a deep slumber, encased within the hearts of the mothercrystals which now dot the lands. Their dreams seep into the soil, empowering those fortunate enough to become Elemental Masters; as the tides of swelling aeons pass, as they stir in their sleep, the Source Dragons reawaken in the bodies of chosen Arkons of the Sources, whose very existence shapes the future of these realms. The memory of the Source Dragons themselves have been lost to a fleeting dream. But the mothercrystals bear with them a curse; a blight visits upon these lands, pulling the unfortunate into the Source Dragons’ dreamscapes and tarnishing the soil and waters. I love this gay ass show with its literally life ending injuries that heal immediately, but only when convenient to the plot, and its ridiculous use of modern phrases, and its laughing in the face of historical accuracy, and its kissing the face of the fans instead of trying to outwit them, and the way everyone involved in the show seem to go 'I KNOW RIGHT! I'M EXCITED TOO!' instead of mocking the fans

Well when I said I might post something in March I didn’t actually think I’ll have something done and posted the first day on March, put it’s also an appreciation post to a small handful of people I see (semi) often for a while, I don’t know where this is coming from but I just decided to do it, like every other major “project” I do.

During my time when I was in my art slump I have missed valentines and I’m still upset by it cause I absolutely love valentines and it’s beautiful aesthetic, so this is kinda my “redemption” for it, technically white day is coming up in March but I just feel like it doesn’t feel just as special. 🥲

But I drew old man and barbs as markable plushies, and honestly turning them to markable plushies is oddly therapeutic, since it was so simple and fast. Still debating if I should do the entire side characters plus the additional trio, so I’ll see if people would like for me to do it. 🤔

Aside from that i just wish to to give my wonderful gratitude and appreciation w/ little note for those specific people, but to everyone else in general, I would like to thank you all for your patience’s and interactions, while I haven’t been that active until the last few months of last year, and once again haven’t been that active the last month, I do see people’s comments and replies and fully enjoy reading them, even if I don’t always reply back, I truly enjoy interacting with the OM community, and everyone who I’ve met thus far, and hope to continue being in the community for a while. ☺️💕

The ask I got yesterday about ~community~ and whatnot just made me think again about how special it is that we all have this space to share in something we all love, and create connections with each other and with this art that enrich our lives. Again, what a gift it is that Taylor has been able to put into words these experiences that touch people so deeply, and give us all a way to better understand each other and ourselves and in some ways give us the tools and space to learn how to support each other. Whether it’s identifying with struggles or sharing experiences or reveling in joy or even communing in events like concerts or meet-ups or simply making friends along the way, I can certainly say this time has enriched my life and I’m sure it has with many of us here.

I hope we can all continue to practice that kindness and empathy in this little community and beyond. ❤️

Forgetting to post shit simply cause I’m using bluesky more + life is stressful as fuck but randomly remembering how it low key feels embarrassing being mecha obsessed when a lot of people, either non mecha fans or actual fans, actually finds SRW to be lame from a gameplay perspective and while I never played a game (besides one stage of 30s demo) to really know how much I’d like it outside of the crossover appeal it’s low key sad people downplay it for being a TRPG.

Could a mecha game be more engaging than this? Absolutely, but I feel the reason it leans heavily to this is cause it’s easier to produce and a way to make a story because lbr, no matter how good SRW stories actually are, the fact the gameplay is so mundane is the fact it gets away with being one of few cohesive crossovers. But I also just don’t understand TRPG hate generally.

Things I feel so strongly about that they stumble into my mind, univited, at random times of the day? Things that spill into my speech and vocabulary without me noticing? Things that impact my vision to the point where everywhere I look, everywhere I go, I see ghosts of them?

How lucky am I to have so many Things I love and cherish enough for them to reshape my very person, change my beliefs and make me grow? Things that make my own loved ones see the Things out in the wild, and go out of their way to make sure I see them too?

How wonderful is it that I have Things that I love so much that the very act is deemed and dubbed "not normal", making my love for them seem like it's more than they are supposed to recieve?
