how did The Old One get his coat on with those wings????

#not to be insane but i actually came up with an explanation #so. its kind of based on my foundational theory for him #which is that hes not originally from the spiral and is instead an extradimensional being #from earth or an equivalent where eldritch shit is. real #mostly backed by both his gratuitous real-world superhero references #and the use of assets in his lab including things like an earth periodic table (pre-1993) and a book with earth on the back cover #AND the use of english text #the meta explanation is that lemuria as a whole reuses a lot of assets from hero101 #for cost saving reasons more than anything else i presume #but theres no reason there cant also be an in-universe explanation too #anyway all this leading up to the idea that his default/True State is made up of stuff from beyond the spiral #and this smaller form of his is a result of him making himself out of Stuff (atoms etc) from the spiral so as not to contradict reality #and destroy it #but very small/temporary returns to form are possible without risking the fabric of the universe #so in order to put on shirts/coats he sort of just makes his wings stop existing in this dimension of reality for a minute #which is so unnecessarily convoluted but i have in fact put a lot of thought into it #oh yeah more of my evidence for this theory is what happens in the cavity #where the rest of the schismists are still hanging out but the old one disappears #when you go in and fight the paradox #which is NOT because dasein already ate him!! dasein very specifically says that he didnt absorb TOO until #AFTER you fight the aberrant paradox #so the contribution to my theory is that i think being in a place that didnt exist was just a little too much for TOO's constructed body #and he kind of fell apart by the time you get down there
