No one knew about Jays girlfriend, in fact everyone thought he was single. So when Jay arrived at Molly’s with a petite woman on his arm, everyone was shocked to say the least, even more so when Will gave her a hug and the pair looked like they have known each other for a while. The noise of conversation and clinking of glasses filled the air as they made their way to a table in the corner. It was a Friday night, a rare occasion for Jay and his colleagues to be out all together.

As they sat down, Erin, his partner, was the first of Jays coworkers to greet the couple

“Im so happy you could come. Who is this lovely lady, Jay?" she asked, her tone laced with curiosity.

Jay smiled proudly and replied, "This is YN. My girlfriend. She works for the FBI." YN, who was naturally shy and reserved, gave a polite nod but said nothing. Erin's eyes widened in surprise, she looks over to Jay shock written all over her face

“Oh wow you’ve kept her quiet Jay” Jay just shrugs in response.

Through the evening the drinks flow, but YN continues to stay quiet, just observing the space around her

“So FBI huh? You seem too quiet and innocent for that line of work”

YN simply smiled and shrugged, used to this reaction from people who underestimated her based on her demeanor. She was well aware of her ability to blend in and appear unassuming, a skill that served her well in her line of work. She knew that her quiet nature was one of her greatest assets, allowing her observer others and gather crucial information for her cases. As the night went on YN and Jay finished up the evening and headed off back home.

YN sat in her car, staring at the building in front of her. It’s been 2 weeks since she met Jays coworkers and now she’s been asked to help the intelligence unit with a tough case. She steps out of the car and strode confidently towards the entrance, her gun hidden securely in its holster.

As she entered the building, she was greeted by the sight of her boyfriend Jay and his boss Voight, both standing in the lobby, waiting for her

“YN thank you so much for coming” Voight says holding out his hand. Immediately YN takes his hand in hers, shaking his hand

“No problem, happy to help”

“Please follow us” Voight takes YN to the bullpen where the rest of their coworkers are standing around a bulletin board

“You all remember YN” Jay says first

“She’s joining us on this case” voight tells everyone who greets the girl

“So what do you know so far?” YN says getting straight into the case

“We know that Doms father owned a huge farm down state. When she died Dom inherited 30 million” Antonio hands over the case file to YN who takes a look at all the information at hand “he took out 10 million 2 days before he went missing” YN looks up at the team

“Did anyone actually see him though?”

“Taking the money out?” Jay asks

“What are you saying?” Erin frowns

“I dont think he’s missing. Did you get the autopsy report on the mum?”

“No, she died of natural causes” Antonio crosses his arms

“Are you positive on that? I want to see an autopsy report somethings just not adding up”

unwavering, her determination driving her to catch the criminal at any cost.

YN got what she needed, the autopsy report showed that Doms mum did not die of natural causes, in fact she was poisoned slowly over time. YNs theory of dom not being missing made him their first suspect.

As they neared the location where Dom was believed to be hiding, YN's instincts kicked in. With a nod to Jay, she signaled that it was time to make their move.

They burst into the building, guns drawn. YN's training kicked in

“On the floor, now!” YN shouts pointing her gun at Dom “keep your hands where we can see them”

In a matter of moments, Dom was apprehended. Jay and the rest of his team watch the girl they once thought of as quiet become this confident woman. Jay watches on, feeling a sense of pride and love. That’s his girl who he’s extremely proud of.

“okay, my turn now. look at me” you leaned forward, your chest glued to the table as you looked at joshua’s face intensely. joshua smiled a bit and leaned forward as well, looking at you. “‘kay, im looking”

“do you see someone looking back at you or do you see someone thats in love with you?” you asked, eyes narrowing as you tried to analyze his reaction. on the other side, joshua’s smile died and he suddenly got shy. he drank all of his drink in one sip and rubbed the back of his neck. “so… youre in love with me?”

you just nodded with an affiliative smile on your face, “yes. very much so”

joshua could feel his cheeks heating up. he stood up and walked towards you, he placed his hand on your shoulder and looked down at you, “im afraid youre getting drunk so i guess its time for us to leave, i dont want to keep saying things that you might regret about tomorrow.”

“but its your birthday and i just confessed to you… dont you feel the same?”

“maybe…” he chuckled, “ill only admit it when you tell me about your feelings while being sober. now lets go, ill take care of you”

you could hear the birds chirping and feel the sun on your face. you slowly sat up, frowned and placed your hand on your head, feeling it hurt. “gosh…” you looked around and noticed the obvious, that wasnt your bedroom. panic was slowly starting to increase, but it died as soon as you heard a voice singing in the background. you knew that sweet voice too well. you were at joshua’s home.

you walked towards the voice and you found him shirtless and cooking. you blushed a little and cleared your throat to make your presence known, he turned around and looked at you, giving a smile that warmed your heart. “good morning, did you sleep well?”

the man laughed and smirked, “cmon, i know you love it. but okay, ill put on a shirt”. you watched him put on a white shirt, but you were with a puzzled expression on your face, why would he say that? was he only being extra or did you say something last night? “what you mean? i dont love it!”

“oh, so you dont remember about last night?” he had a cocky smile on his lips and your eyes widened. last night? what did you do or say last night? you looked at him with a blank expression for a few seconds, trying to process everything. once you thought you got it, you immediately gasped and placed your arms on your chest and on your lap, as if you were trying to hide your body.

joshua’s eyes widened as well and he shook his head, completely in panic. “no! its not what youre thinking!! i even slept on the couch!” he said as he pointed at the couch with some pillows and a blanket. you looked at the couch and let out a deep breath you didnt know you were holding.

“then why would you say such a thing?!” you looked at the soup and muttered while mixing it with the spoon, “saying like we did something…”

“so you dont remember what you asked me last night? whoa… you really cant drink alcohol”

“what i asked you…?” you tried your best to remember about the night before. a few memories started to come together and your jaw started to slowly drop as you remembered the stupid answers you gave to his questions and the even more stupid question you asked him. you hid your mouth with your hand and looked at joshua in complete shock.

“looks like someone remembers now” he said with a smirk on his face, crossing his arms as he leaned on the kitchen counter. “i-uh…”

AITA for being truthful with my husband's coworker?

I (23f) have a husband (25m) who is very close with his coworkers. They come over to our house a lot for DND, holidays, etc.

One of his coworkers, N (27m) and I were close. N is very charismatic and flirts with EVERYONE. My husband legitimately did not care, I've even showed him me and N's texts before which look the same as my husband and N's- yes some flirting but nothing actually serious. Most of it is joking

Well, N started dating someone they all work with, J. I had never met J, I have 0 clue her age. The first time we met, I tried to be inviting as there isn't a lot of girls around except those of us that are married or who already are coworkers. She seemed shy, maybe a bit socially awkward.

Then the second time, I caught her pointing at me and whispering to her best guy friend and they both started laughing. It felt like I was in high school, but I ignored it. N had been out of the room. This was at MY house.

We've met a handful of times since, and by a handful I mean literally 5 times. Every time she does not say a word to me. I've tried talking to her and she'll blankly stare at me. So I've stopped. If she doesn't want to be friends that is her choice.

Except my husband caught her vagueposting about me on social media. N doesn't have social media fyi. She basically posted the exact outfit I was wearing, something that happened, and then put "what a dumb situation caused by someone stupid, but at least the outfit was cute". She also replied to a comment saying i was flirting with her man and a homewrecker, which is why I brought up how N is because he is like that with EVERYONE. I asked N if she was uncomfortable with our interactions, because J had me blocked on social media and I couldn't ask her, and N said she shouldn't be because he treats me no different then anyone else.

Well, any group hang outs she doesn't come to. There is always an excuse, and I dont even want to invite her because of what she said about me. Except for DND which I am not a part of (I do enjoy it, but the way they play is so fast paced and im dyslexic and not good at math, I have a better time watching then playing so I do other things while they play, it also gives my husband time to enjoy a hobby he likes alone). Anytime J is over for DND she ignores me or whispers to her guy friend when I'm around. N is still N, flirting with everyone (me, my husband, the guy who plays an orc, J, etc.). I dont even think he is intentionally flirting i think he is just very charismatic and some stuff he says can be taken that way

Well most recently N invited us to his house so me and my husband went. J came home started talking to everyone there and then saw us and went to her room (N, J, and two other people live together). She didn't come back out the entire time me and my husband were there, but I found out later she came out once we were gone.

N texted me asking my opinion of J. I was truthful and said, and I quote "Well she seems smart and she is pretty, but I don't really know her. I don't think she likes me, which to each their own. I wish she was a bit more polite about things when she is at my house. Cant really speak on someone i dont know except that shes a bit cold and not who i had thought you would be with.. Otherwise, as long as your happy, what does my opinion matter?" To which N replied "so you have a bigger opinion" and then blocked me.

My husband agrees with me but N is his best friend, they haven't discussed it at work. I have seen J recently, we ran into each other at a store, and she called me a bitch (I guess N told her what I said). AITA?

I have LOOOTS of hcs for the both of them!! Ive been fixated on these two for four whole years i genuinely have too much to mention in one post lol so if you have any specific questions about specific hcs, do tell me!! Its a bit difficult to answer very broad questions like this bcs i dont know where to begin haha;;

I can very confidently say though, Illumi is absolutely nowhere near shy. At least-- not by the definition. In my eyes, Illumi is a very blunt and straightforward person with no social filter. I do like to think when it comes to hisoillu in general Illumi gets flustered here and there when dealing with his husband like any normal human in love is to be. But when it comes to being an actual shy introvert like hisoka-- absolutely not. You can tell the difference between how Illumi deals with people vs Hisoka. Hisoka is like the textbook definition of an introvert-- someone who constantly avoids people unless he wants to be the center of attention (mainly negative attention so it keeps people away anyways)

General hisoillu hcs would be... I like to humanize them. I like giving Illumi moles, stretch marks and arthritis from his transformation and eyebags from the amount of times he stays up for his missions. Also scars from his training that are faded. For hobbies I like to think hes extremely interested in learning. Just learning. Whatever hes learning doesnt matter, but knowledge is a very prominent fact about him and the zoldycks in general. So while I hc hes extensively knowledgable about anatomy and the economic and political states of the world (those pretty much canon tho lol) and the world in general, I like to always write him extending his knowledge in fics like learning a new language in his spare time or reading books in general. I could expand much more on hobbies including people watching and hanging out with his siblings but i feel like if there is a tumblr word limit i would 1000% exceed it lol.

I like to give Hisoka freckles on his tan skin (in the manga his skin is quite tan) that he hides and many more scars that are also hidden like he'd hide his arm scars after machi healed them. also the one time togashi drew him with hip dips. I liked that! I like to give him a human backstory like initially having a family that he either abandoned or was abandoned by to go on his own journey (not necessarily tragic, though i do not think tragic backstories take away from a character no matter how evil tbh. If anything, I strongly believe that babies are blank slates when it comes to morals until theyre taught otherwise by their environment.) And positive hobbies like cooking for himself because he only ever relies on himself and doesnt trust anybody else, which also goes with the hc of him not being a fan of taking any medication so hes a "tough it out" girlie. which also consequently affects other hcs like my trans hisoka hc and him not getting top surgery until after he married illumi because he does not trust a mf to put him under during it but he does trust illumi-- ITS A LOOONG STORY

I also like to consider their reoccurring personality traits as symptoms for neurodivergence. Like Illumi's bluntness and overly honest personality being autism and his highly emotional sides to him being BPD (i do have a thread on that!) and for Hisoka his hyperactivity and addiction for stimulating fights as ADHD (the adhd video i made abt him covers some of it lol) and you could argue a personality disorder for him as well to match with his hubby.

Also the queer hcs like i mentioned, transmasc genderfluid hisoka that doesnt mind all pronouns that i also hc as demiaroace and pansexual/bisexual while for Illumi I hc him as gay demiaroace agender, etc. These help a lot in figuring out their identities too.

Stuff like that are just the "layouts" for them in my brain that help me immensely when writing fics for them. You have to know everything extensively for the actions that they make to come naturally so when you throw them in a situation, you immediately know how they'd react (ex: sick hisoka would refuse to take meds, or more specifically like in my fic tolerate me darling hisoka was cramping and refused to take pain meds for it so illumi had to use his pins etc etc)

Those are pretty much the surface hcs i have for them that I always consider when it comes to any scenario or extra hc or fic/art or anything. For anything very specific, you'd have to ask about it for my brain to remember ehehe ^^

i js realized and UGH I FEEL SO STUPID BUT i realized how much of an impact fanficiton can actually dent to the whole "some people are forgetting luigi's inspo and purpose and the whole crux of this situation" im not sure if it is disrespectful that's why i wanted to run it by to u guys but we can totally bring things to perspective on luigi's current conditions. how scared he is, how ignorant MEDIA is in general, we can totally do it and honestly we already are!! most of the fanfictions ive read are raising awareness about the struggles of going through traumatic surgeries, making people feel seen about injuries they had that are similar to luigi's!! i just want to clarify that im not saying that EVERYTHING we choose to write to be apart of this community must be sort of tasked to carry the weight of the world at all times and have this altruistic can-do attitude about it. what im saying is that we all require something real even if it is in our fantasies - real as in something that is close to us as humans and ive realized that there is always and forever will be a certain standing that we take against oppressors that quote and quote "work in the shadows - making them systems of cowardice" most importantly ive noticed that us as a community loves fanfiction that humanizes luigi - we live vicariously through the name of "y/n" and that is just us feeling human and through this fandom we create a community an institution with a base for smart thinkers and creative writers i think luigi has inspired a lot of people and it is important to note that people especially creators - those who know they belong or has hosted a blog or whatever type of creative craft of their that hones their skills are easily touched by topics that wake them up and inspire them - those are topics that are hard to forget

How you choose to portray or regurgitate his character automatically clarifies how he is seen by the media! For some people who only watch the news or don’t do research on him as a person, we’re gonna have more surface level and extremely harmful takes. By now I’ve seen such AWFUL things being said about a man who was already confirmed to be

1, A huge man who advocated for COMPLETE equality, 2. An extremely pleasant and kind soul to be around, and someone who literally GAVE UP THEIR LIFE OF UPPER CLASS FREEDOM AND COMFORT BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO TRY AND BETTER SOMETHING THEY SAW AS AN AMERICAN FLAW.

I’ve seen rumors fly around that he’s a narcissist, trump supporter, misogynist, abuser, etc etc and it’s so fucking apparent who actually did research and is able to form a strong opinion without the influence of others or the media, and people who are able to take a moment and literally just fact check themselves LMFAOO😭

ok i am really sorry about how this may come off and i want to say i'm not like prejudiced against german people, but i often hear about things from germany like women having to try brothels first before getting unemployment, or "sex being a human right for disabled people" (ie they force a prostitute to go "service" a disabled man), and so on, and it kind of makes me skeeved out by german men? where i'm from obvs there is a local brand of misogyny but how accepted is this in your country? how common is it among the men to just think it is normal and okay? would you say the average man there goes to brothels or is okay with it?

no worries! i completely understand where youre coming from.

first off, women do not have to try prostitution or they get their unemployment benefits cut, thats a myth. a brothel owner tried to enforce it but the courts decided that, since the alleged purpose of the prostitution law was to protect prostitutes, not to foster and promote prostitution, the government agency responsible for unemployment is not to advertise brothel ads or help brothel owners find „employees“ which would not make sense in the first place because brothels dont employ prostitutes, they rent out rooms.

secondly, i dont think german men are more (or less) likely to buy sex than men of other nationalities. german men tend to generally be more shy (when it comes to hitting on women/dating) which is not due to virtue but probably because german people are more reserved in general. my french friends say they get harrassed on the street less in germany, for example. but that doesnt make germans less misogynistic.

from a feminist point of view, we have the worst possible mix of liberal and conservative politics: for example, prostitution has been liberalised and legalised 20 years ago - but abortion is still technically criminalised (albeit accessible). women have been excelling in academics - but mothers still take on most of the childcare (resulting in poverty at old age, single mothers being at highest risk of poverty, and women being overrepresented in part time jobs, for example). the conservative part comes from the center right christian democratic party having been in power for most of the time since the end of ww2. the prostitution law is the brainchild of the green party who have been massively influenced by postmodernism and hippie culture. academics are also pretty much divided into these two camps (conservative or postmodernist liberal) and this also influences politics. i think this is reflective of our weirdly ambivalent culture!

in my opinion, the average german person does not have strong opinions on any of this. they care about würstchen and maybe refugees (racism is a more obvious albeit not more or less grave issue here than sexism). the topic of prostitution is not a widely discussed topic at all. which means people dont care enough to stop that green party nonsense like „sex is a human right“ and buying sex being legal (they are by the way also responsible for the new self id law in germany). feminism is just very weak in germany. there are big discussions on „gendering“ and the trans topic, refugees and nazis, and climate change, but weirdly the sex industry and other misogyny is not often discussed. at best we get a halfhearted gender pay gap debate.

i think german men are freaks in private. we have a huge fetish scene in germany, i cant tell you why. germans are known to be very dry, reserved, not fun loving people, but there is an undeniable underbelly of sex pests here, i cant tell you what it is but maybe thats because im too close to it. i would be very interested to hear how other germans but especially non-germans who have been to or maybe even lived here perceive it!

today at my grandmas house me and my cousin were talking about the election tomorrow and other various things and i didnt really know what to say and it felt sorta alienating. and my grandma was telling me stories about my grandpa when they were young and i also didnt know what to say

which throughout high school and very quickly through the post-timeskip earns him a bit of an asshole reputation because "wow i hear hes so mean to girls when he rejects them why is he like that???" but if you get to know him, he only reacts like that if you keep pestering him.

(he learned this in late middle school when he tried to keep being nice in his rejections, but being nice never got them to give up so eventually he figured out that being an absolute asshole turns most of them away)

NOW ON THE NOTE ABOUT HIM DATING OTHER GIRLS: he DID got on a few dates in between the timeskip when mochi wasnt around, and it was always with the normal intensity types who would at least respect his decisions. he did this as an attempt to get over mochi, but one or two dates in realized that yep this isnt working, and also its not fair to this poor girl because im still thinking about mochi and clearly i cant commit to her, so it would end pretty fast.

and when mochi DOES find this out (he tried to hide it from her hehe) its not exactly jealousy, but that horrible twisting sinking feeling you get in your stomach. she usually deals with this kind of emotion alone and doesnt tell anyone, and tries to sort it out in her head herself before coming to terms with it and finally asking lime about it. (lime can kinda tell though. and when he does find out shes feeling like this, post-timeskip lime is a little better at not denying his feelings and isnt bad at making her feel better)

there's a common misconception (mostly with reddit incels and sometimes even in feh *rolls my eyes*) that caeda is some kind of seductress or temptress. i think that couldn't be further from the truth. it's often heralded in the archanea games that she has an immense amount of charm to her, something that she carried over from when she was a child, yes. but that hardly means she's someone that tries to seduce others or anything like that. at her base self, she is someone that wants for peace always. rather than use her weapons, i think she's trained herself in the way of words instead. as a kid her natural charm was used for more selfish personal things because she was yknow a kid, but as an adult i think she uses her charm in order to make people get along.

i don't think she ever necessarily lies about people's qualities, but rather that she always speaks from the heart— even if at some point she exaggerates. read: roger, which is often what gets her the accusations of being a temptress. honestly after rereading it again to properly answer this question i don't see why people get so riled up over this conversation. LMAO

like does she try to tug at the heartstrings? yes, but i also think she does see that roger could be a genuinely kind-hearted and good person. she pulls the underlying good qualities in the people she speaks to and tries to speak in a way that will get them to act in peace. there's hardly any seducing (least, on purpose) involved in any of her conversations. so to strangers, acquaintances and sometimes even friends, she's the charming princess of talys. to those she's closest with, i find that she's far more honest about herself, more vulnerable with them. she has a duty to uphold as the right queen of archanea, so of course she must appear strong to her citizens and to archanea's political alliances. there's not quite room for a queen who cries and complains, after all.

her honesty with her emotions is most exemplary in regards to marth and kris, if i'm being real here. the conversation that comes to mind for kris is the one where she entrusts marth to him in her stead, where she cannot be there for him. she speaks of fear for marth's life so genuinely, of her feelings so genuinely. she entrusts him with that vulnerability, just as she does with marth as well.

that's not to say she doesn't have her charm and wit here either— she's less modest about herself with him— with them both, and i think as well this is where her 'tomboy' personality comes out most with him. she's not shy and reserved necessarily unless its *eyes emoji* (if you know you know) but speaks of her feelings without so much as blinking. they have that natural relationship where i think they're some of the only people they can just be themselves with (and that's something i like to focus on a lot when it comes to private conversations they have).
