The Martian Manhunter let a strangled sigh escape from him

He could relate too much to what this poor child has been through, from what he saw of the quick glimpse he was allowed in the boys mind:

Men in white lab coats surrounding him, prodding at him, poking, torturing. Vivisecting him. Seeing him as less than human because of what he was. Because of what he wasn’t.

And the loneliness. Though he hadn’t been alone nearly as long as the child, he had been isolated in that lab. When he wasn’t being experimented on, he was left alone in a cold cell, with nothing but his thought and imagination. A dangerous combination.

J'onn quickly steers his thoughts away from that dark time, the nightmares and hallucinations that followed. Batman was speaking again.

“It’s ok, it’s alright,” Batman said placatingly to the mystery child, who had became clearly agitated by the lack of his own memories.

“we don’t need to know that right now. I know it’s hard, but is there anything you can remember that might be bad or dangerous for you? Any allergies or things we should avoid? Anything we SHOULD give you?”

The child squeezed his eyes shut and tried prodding at his still recovering mind.

J'onn was hovering by his consciousness looking for ways to help.

Danny tried remembering, what had he been just thinking of again? he had been musing about something in his past, RIGHT before coming to the watchtower… but he couldn’t concentrate. All the feelings, and noises, and SMELLS.

Danny remembers from a long ago science class that smells were made by physical molecules entering your nose or something. Or was that from a tv show episode with that weird redhead teacher and her school bus with a face? Either way, he hadn’t SMELLED much of anything in a while either.

And right now? It smelled like he was in a lab.

All the ointments, and cleaning products and the iron tang of his own blood. The plastics and metals all felt like they were teleporting him I back to that awful place, hidden underground in a massive facility and they were hurting him again and they were opening him up and they-

Lavender. He suddenly was smelling lavender.

Or, no the memory of lavender. It had a calming effect on him.

He didn’t realize he was hyperventilating again. Lavender always reminded him of his parents. They had always tracked around ectoplasm and it left them smelling like it too, so his mom had bought the cheapest cover up scent she could and left it all over the decontamination area in the lab. It resulted in his parents smelling like lavender too

His parents...

They had almost been the first to have the honor of dissecting him, before he finally revealed what he was, before they cut the restraints and they had all cried in a huddle on the floor for hours.

he... he couldn't remember their faces.

What was he supposed to be remembering again? allergies. Thoughts seemed to swim away just as he was about to catch them.

ok he was just thinking about...lavender? flowers? blood blossoms maybe? aside from the extinct rose and his lactose intolerance he wasn't really allergic to anything, but the milk thing didn’t really count anyways, he chugged that stuff like nobodies business.

Wait, could that stupid flower have survived on this earth? He hoped not. Ugh too much thinking, his head started hurting again...

J'onn was glad he was able to steer the boy away from more unpleasant memories. He knew that memory had a strong relationship with scent and had picked the first agreeable one he could think of.

Ok so I was watching rise of the guardians and whent oh I have an idea. So I've seen the prompts where danny gets stuck in the DC verse and his powers conform to DC logic. Well there, ghosts are invisible.

So let's put this together. Danny scared, hurt, and tired, gets yeeted to the DC verse by either running from ghost hunters or just getting lost in the ghost zone.

So danny hearing about this world haveing heros and deciding to try and track down the heros. Only for them to ignore him?? He trys to get their attention in his human form, no luck. He helpd multiple heros as phantom and they acted like he didnt exist.

So danny getting fed up flys up to their space base and walks straight into a big important meeting. But no matter how much he yells, crys, or pleads nobody bats an eye at him.

At this point a certain blond decides to finally show up to the meeting to see a kid breaking down in the conference room begging for help and his colleagues ignoring him. Constantine really needing a smoke before dealing with this situation.

You sat in a small room on a padded chair, with equipment set up around your arm, chest, and fingertips. A polygraph test. That's what you were being forced to take. And to your chagrin, Ghost is in the room with you and Captain Price.

"Try to relax, yeah?" Price commented. He must've noticed your restless leg.

"I'll do that, shall I? I've done nothing wrong, other than exist and I'm being interrogated. Because that's what this is— an interrogation." You finally turn your attention from Ghost to look at Price, who's sitting at the desk by your side. "Tell me, Captain. Did you get this same treatment when you came back after spending all that time locked up in the gulag?"

His dark eyebrows furrow in confusion. A sigh escapes your bitten lips. That's only in your...world, for lack of a better term. Dimension? Universe?

"I haven't been to the gulag here." Yeah, obviously.

With an impatient wave of the hand that doesn't have cables strapped to it, you mutter, "Let's get on with this circus act, then. Ask your questions."

Ghost steps forward, his arms unfolding as if he's about to speak to you, but Price swiftly intervenes, halting him with a raised hand.

"Alright then. Baseline questions first. Name." Ghost gives away nothing when you say your last name is Riley.

It goes like this for a few, then he switches to the control questions, until finally moving on to the relevant ones.

"How did you get here?" I don't know.

"Do you know why you're here?" No.

He pulls up a photograph. "Recognize him?" Captain MacTavish.

Another photo. "Him?" I don't know.

"What do you mean by that?" If that's Roach, I've never seen his face unmasked.

"You're sure you don't know him?" Unless that man's name is Gary Sanderson, no. I do not know him.

Price acknowledges your response with a nod, then shifts his gaze towards Ghost, whose head slightly tilts forward. Returning his attention to you, he retrieves a final photograph. "What about him?"

As you look at the picture, your eyes begin to well with tears, lip trembling violently. A new fracture reverberated through your tender heart, intensifying the ache in your chest. Yes.

"Who is he?" Price softly asks.

"That's my Simon," your voice broke on the last syllable. It was hard to not use a possessive adjective when the face of your husband was in that picture.

Blinking the tears away, you clear your throat. "Anything else, Captain?"

Price purses his lips under his hefty facial hair and responds, "Just a few more questions."

Once finished, you sat unabashedly staring at Ghost in the tiny room. "I wear Roach's tags alongside yours, in honor. He was with you until the very end, and for that, I couldn't be more grateful."

Ghost is completely silent, but you continue talking anyway. "I've been married to you since a bit after you came home on leave that one time. You know the one."

His eyes are emotionless, blank, as he stares at you. But you know him like the back of your hand. You've got his full attention.

"I accompanied you to your brother's wedding. He married a woman, Beth. She was good for him. They had a baby, your nephew, named Joseph. The love you had for him was one of a kind. I had told you later that evening that I dreamed of the day you'd look at our children like that."

With a shuddery breath, you tell him how none of those matters. Because your husband is dead, and you're stuck here. With his counterpart that hates you.

With a hushed click, the door closes shut behind him as he leaves, yet its resounding noise fills the compact room you're in.

You begin to fidget with the sizeable ring that hangs on a thin necklace beneath your shirt— the metal is warm under your touch as if it had never gone cold in the first place.

As if Simon had never taken it off his finger to go find Makarov.

In a development that has sent fans into a frenzy,speculation is swirling that the internets boyfriend Drew Starkey and supermodel Bella Hadid are officially an item. What did each of your MCs and their LIs (if applicable) do for the eclipse?

Baxter usually works as much as possible so either Rafael would make sure they're on a break and outside during the eclipse, or he'd make sure both he and Baxter have the day off to go watch it somewhere nice. Baxter would have had no idea it was going to happen (their ability to not retain information they dont care about is unparalelled) so it would be a very plesant surprise for them, especially since Raf went out of his way to make sure they could see it too

Reigan was also working, and he knew it would happen but not when, but he was lucky to be on the roof of the firm so he caught it then. he carried a pair of eclipse glasses with him all day just in case & was very glad it paid off

i think Trystan went out to see it, but Lorrie was too focused in on their latest case so he was unable to drag em out with him. he took 5000 crappy photos though, blurry and with buildings or his fingers in the way

Eiko had a little mini field trip planned for the school to go see it (i dont think its ever specified where MotY takes place so im saying totality was visible, the field trip was just to like a park or something) so Donna took the day off to be a chaparone so she could see it with her daughter and her gf <3 Rose was SO excited she was talking about it nonstop to everyone

Ezra is on tour in a city closer to the eclipse than where Wes and Simon live in california, and they just happened to be visiting him in time that they all went to a park to see it together

Devi and Noah do not live somewhere the eclipse was very visible, but im still trying to figure out my timeline of things so its possible they could have been on a road trip and caught it? but likely not bc i think theyre both too busy with college. depends on what i decide

both Avery and Sadie tried to host an eclipse party at the same time, but bc they both wanted to host it in the park it ended up being a sort of joint party where Sadie keept trying to one up Avery and failing bc Avery is just that much better at things than her. plus also the guest of honor at an eclipse party (ms. The Actual Fucking Moon) overshadowed them both

The NYC Polycule (aka the Perfect Match cast) (+ Nadia and Steve, who are not part of the polycule for Nadia's Cousin Is In It reasons) took a daytrip to the upper part of New York to get a better view then what they would have seen in the city

evgeni "geno" malkin, center, #71: the other head of the two headed monster, one of the best players of all time, criminally underrated and one of the funniest, most charismatic players to grace us with his presence. drafted 2nd in 2004 to the pens. a physical and emotionally-driven player. also he's 6'5".

FIRST THINGS FIRST: BREAKING HISTORY

the NHL, in its history, has had several "lockouts" where the players union and the league itself cannot come to terms and thus the season is delayed or paused.

in the 2004-2005 season, for the first and only time, an entire season was cancelled. they did not even award the stanley cup, which was the first time that had happened since 1919.

AND OUR PROTAGONISTS WERE SUPPOSED TO START PLAYING TOGETHER IN THIS VERY SEASON. THE FUTURE OF HOCKEY WAS LITERALLY AT STAKE, OUR LOVERS ARE SEPARATED BY THE ATLANTIC OCEAN, A LANGUAGE BARRIER, AND GREEDY FUCKHEADS.

sid crosby had been drafted #1 as the coming savior of the penguins franchise, and geno malkin had been selected from russia to join the cause and was supposed to make his NHL debut, but the lockout kept him stuck in russia.

the lockout end is in sight but geno is under pressure from his hometown team to sign. geno doesn't want to, but he gets strong-armed into it, and immediately regrets it. he wants to be in the NHL.

so escapades ensue that would be more at home in a cold war film. geno and his agent, on an away game in helsinki, flee. they hide out, get to a US embassy to apply for a via, and like thieves in the night, abscond to los angeles. he then made his way to pittsburgh.

geno met sid on his first night there and they fell in love at first sight.

"I just always liked him from the start. Always have. Always will." - Sid

"Pittsburgh is lucky to have Sid. We are all lucky for Sid." - Geno

THE TWO-HEADED MONSTER

for their careers, these two fuckers have been attached at the hip both by breaking milestones and by breaking their bodies. they were affectionately named "the two headed monster" for their ruthless domination on the ice, with their relentless ferocity at puck control as well as their borderline telepathic plays. they would, rightly, not always be on the same line (they work best as special teams together) because of how good they both are as centers. they're puck-hungry and shoot-happy and smart as hell when it comes to hockey IQ, sid is the master of 'little moves that add up in a big way' while thinking ten steps ahead, and geno is the 'opportunistic stalker' waiting to pounce and if he can't pounce he bodies them until he scores anyways. they are THE duo of their era!!

their legacies are deeply intertwined, a fact both of them are very happy about. both of them see the other as family, with geno seeing sid as like an uncle to his son nikita, and sid deeply invested in keeping geno as a pen for life.

tale #1: the stanley cup photo

they won the stanley cup 3 times!! 2009, and then back-tobacks in 2016/2017. their spiritual predecessors, mario lemiuex and jaromir jagr, had taken a photo of them holding the cup, and it became part of penguins legacy, two of the most important players in the franchise.

geno was adamant they get a matching picture, but in the chaos of the first cup, it was missed. the second time - a long awaited win in 2016, after recovering from sid's horrific concussion and geno's knee injuries - they forgot again. geno, on the day of game 6 against nashville, ordered a staff member to take a picture of himself and sid "no matter what" and they did :)

tale #2: "me three years superleague" [8771]

hockey has a tradition - last on, last off. this ritual is both superstitious and a sign of respect. shenanigans about this are rampant, including rock-paper-scissors and trying to trick opponents in order to be the one to leave last. sid crosby, superstitious king, is notorious for his inability to be chill about his routines.

anyways, sid went last. until geno came along. sid offered rock-paper-scissors, but geno hit him with "me three years superleague" meaning he had been in the KHL (russian pro hockey) for 3 years to sid's single year in the NHL. sid, because it's geno, accepted - and from that day forward, they do a special fistbump. sid goes, and geno follows. the last on. always. [except for weird times like the first game of the season and then we LOSE superstitions are REAL!]

tale #3 "putting down a mutiny"

okay so during sid's concussion, he was out of play for a while. like, over a year. and during that time, in 2011 specifically, the question naturally came up of whether or not someone else should temporarily replace him as captain (as the practice is typically for an 'A' [alternate] captain to take the place until he returns) but this means they'd be OFFICIAL captains.

except this question was no longer just being posed by the media....but by players on the penguins. so the story goes, a meeting was held within the locker room involving two camps of players: 4 in favor of replacing sid (brooks orpik, jordan staal, craig adams, matt cooke) and the 4 vehemently against it (pascal dupuis, marc-andre fleury, arron asham, and of course geno)

during the heated conversation, geno ended it with "Sid is the fucking captain." and then walked the fuck out like a boss. end of story, geno's loyalty is the stuff of legend. he even fought one of the mutineers (adams) during practice over it. alas, the rumors and speculation persisted, and the team had had enough.

so in 2012, most of the penguins players used tape to put the letter 'C' on their practice jerseys for their captain. geno taped a 'K' because it's kapitan in russian. sid's the fucking captain.

tale #4: bonded pair do not separate

this covers a few instances, but basically, geno being underrated and sid being the GOAT means sometimes people who are not sid and geno need to be reminded of how the world works.

for example, when the pens GM at the time said that only sid was untouchable during trade season, sid - who does not normally involve himself in player negotiations - laid down the law that geno was also untouchable: "It's me and Geno."

during geno's rookie years, he told his friend/teammate/interpreator sergei gonchar that he wanted to play "only for Pittsburgh, always with Sid." and has kept true to that promise through tense negotiations.

and sometimes that means being paid a little more. the "crosby cap" in the unofficial-official rule that nobody is allowed to be paid more than sid, and nobody is allowed to wear a jersey number higher than his. his contract is $8.7mil, but to keep geno, it was going to have to be higher. sid responded "does that mean we get to keep him?" because he does not give a fuck about money. he proved that again by signing an extension this year for 8.7mil again despite the fact he's the face of the franchise, captain, and s tier player because he cares more about the team and franchise than he does money. geno too, he's consistently taken "team friendly" deals instead of leaving to be paid as a superstar.

"He's a Pittsburgh Penguin forever, like me." -Geno, talking about Sid's extension.

during 2022 management was not sly about taking shots at geno, lowballing him during negotiations and basically telling him to take it or leave it. fuck you ron hextall u flyers plant u nearly killed this franchise and we're going to be paying for ur fuckery for years to come i wish lil nikita had high-sticked u it would have been KARMA. it took the combined efforts of sid, kris letang, and coach mike sullivan to assuage geno. and when hextall, under collusion from the new management, wanted to break up the Big Three (aka keep sid but break up letang and geno) during an interview sid gave a not-so-thinly veiled threat: "I think they know how I feel." and after a very, very dramatic rest of the season hextall and burke and pryer were fired :) geno has admitted he nearly left the pens because of them but now has reaffirmed he'll never leave and half-joked that he'll play as long as sid does or until his body gives out on him. jesus christ geno could u be any less subtle.

kris letang, geno malkin, and sid crosby are the longest tenured teammates (going on their 20th season) in north american sports history. penguins mate for life.

they just love each other so much man. geno has shrines to sid in all of his houses and jokes that his son's favorite player is sid, he thinks sid is the best player and the best person, he is fiercely loyal and both of them have a habit of brushing aside their own records and milestones for the other. sid is a very private person but clearly loves geno and gets this dopey, sweet smile and light in his eyes when reporters ask about how many of their milestones are linked together as much as their legacies. sid can, has, and will threaten anyone who even thinks about trying to take geno away from him. sid thinks it's funny he knocked geno on his ass during practice one time and how geno tries to give him another concussion by shooting pucks at him during power play practice. their hugs across the years are pure joy and it's a miracle they didn't fucking hurt each other in some of those flying leap tackles. that time they hosted a bunch of kids and geno was joking they werent chanting his name except then when they were on the ice he was hyping them up for sid's chant, and when asked who his best friend on the team is sid immediately pointed to geno and coach sullivan was yelling about how it was a set up. and when geno first came to the US and couldnt speak english, they could still speak hockey together. about how geno is almost half a foot taller than sid and spent years being known as "the bully" and still he always differentially leaned down when sid is talking on the ice. how they find each other in cellies and look for each other first when theyre on the bench and celebrating. geno chanting "MVP" loudly when sid was doing media and sid laughing about it. geno has penguins hats made with sid's name on them (and his own and tanger too!) and he wears them all the time. geno fucking with sid all the time because he's hilarious and sid not only tolerating it but laughing with him.

these fucks are old in hockey years. most players last 5 years in the NHL. they're at 20, and have a few more years left in them. and their relationship is one of the most special in the league, and in hockey history - few players stay on a team for life, few are so impactful to the game. they're both going straight to the Hall of Fame, they have personal hardware and 3 cups between them and plenty of records in both the league and franchise, and they've done it together. we only get them for a little while longer, so let's enjoy it ♥

what are some of your favorite pieces of paleolithic art depicting gods or other spirits?

Ok so. There isnt much. We cant know the intent behind the art and whether it’s all spirits or all just stories, etc, but the best we can get to ‘this is probably some sort of spirit figure’ are the therianthropes/ hybrids. Ill show a few of those ! [Note: it’s unclear whether some of these are meant to show hybrid creatures or people wearing animal headresses or pelts.]

First is my favorite! This is ‘no its just kiro, lesbian’ aka The Venus and the Sorcerer. [Human hybrid figures in paleolithic art are usually called sorcerers, the same way female figures are called venuses.] The painting is on a rock pendant in the Hall of Lions deep in Chauvet cave. It shows the lower half of a female body with pubic triangle and legs, then sorta wrapped around it is this bison-headed human. [dont ask me to show you the bison’s human body i just trust that other people see it cuz i cant make it out lmao]

Here is an engraving from Grotte de Gabillou showing a maybe bull-headed person, though it isn’t the most detailed. I’m glad I found this photo of the actual engraving, before I had only seen tracings of it that sorta embellished it.

And here’s a Sorcerer of Trois Freres [not the famous one though! That one is controversial and meh]. It’s over there to the left, a bison-headed figure that looks to be dancing and possibly playing a flute, mouth bow, or wielding a bow. In front of it are a few other hybrid creatures, like a reindeer with what could be human arms, and I think a bison with a deer’s hindquarters.

Honorable mention: Panel of the Wounded Man from Lascaux, though this is less a spirit than a story or scene possibly. A man is falling in front of the charge of a bison he injured with a thrown spear. Note the spear crossing over the bison and what could be a bird-topped spearthrower below. The man has a bird’s head drawn in the same way as the other bird. I really love this scene tbh

So yea thats some of them ! Theres no way we can really know the meaning behind these drawings, but yea theyre often considered to be spirits or shamans.

The blood rushing to your ears distracted you from listening to the trial. To others, they thought you were angry that the suspect had slipped past your grasp in your patrol.

To you, the true perp who was watching the trial with a contented smirk.

In order for you to not leap across the room and maul the man, you had to cross your arms under your chest and clutched the sleeves of your uniform with a passion. You probably couldn’t afford a new one so you had to patch the holes yourself.

Him (you had dubbed him the rat man) and the suspect go way back apparently. Far back that they were able to blackmail you of yours and a certain lawyer’s relationship.

It would be the biggest scandal for you and your career hasn’t even started. You were just a fledgling police officer that was too good for the Japanese man and Scotland Yard. If word got out that you were dating him—

You worry more for him rather than your own fate from Barok van Zieks.

His Honor had allowed a cross-examination and asked for the person who was in charge of their beat, you didn’t even let out a noise.

It was only when the defense had called your position in Scotland Yard, then your name. “Are you feeling well?”

It was a question out of courtesy since you’ve been standing on the witness stand without saying anything, but you knew the defense that those words had hidden concern.

You lightly nodded your head. “I’m fine.”

With a flourish of your hand, you brought your right hand above your heart and bowed your chest in a perfect 45 degree angle. “Honorable citizens of the court, please allow me to testify in this esteemed hall of justice!”

“I was patrolling around my beat as usual, the fog hadn’t been as bad as it was a lot of times before so I didn’t have any excuse to miss anything. T’was ‘round the corner of Rose’s Bakery that I spotted the suspect prowling near the dustbins that the bakery had.”

“Hold it!” Yelled Naruhoudo. “These dustbins… These are the same ones that was behind the bakery, correct?”

You nodded. “Same ones that kept filling up with egg shells and bread gone wrong. Thought it was another peddlar trying to get some scraps but his clothes caught me off guard.”

Naruhodou made a hum of agreement. “The suspect’s clothes are quite fashionable, aren’t they?”

The suspect next to you smirked at his compliment and puffed his collar. You had to physically stop yourself from breaking his fingers.

“His entire ensemble is from Claire and Frank’s boutique.” van Zieks added. “I should know, I am a frequent patron of theirs.”

If only, you thought solemnly to yourself as you remember your dull plainclothes back at home. If only people were just as well-off as the Reaper.

“In any case,” you brought the attention back, “it’s still a strange sight for a well-dressed stranger to be near a dump so…”

“I approached and asked him what was he doing there. Before he could answer, I saw the glint of a knife and then he lunged at me!”

“Hold it!” He said again, this time in urgency. “Were you alright?! Did he get you anywhere?!”

You made motions with your hands to calm him down. “Easy easy! I was trained to deal with blokes that pull a fast one on me so I disarmed him just as fast.”

“As expected of Scotland Yard!” The judge said. “And what did you do after you disarmed him?”

The click of a revolver flashed in your mind. His buddy cocking his gun to your forehead as his damn voice still made you punch your bedroom wall.

“… I disarmed him and stated that I was part of Scotland Yard. Because it was too dark, he thought that I was a mugger so he tried to defend himself.”

“It… was too dark?” Naruhodou repeated. “I thought the oil lamp next to the bakery’s door was lit?”

You cussed inwardly, eyes flitting to the man who had his smirk still on his face. He made a motion with his hand; Remember our deal.

“It… was lit.” You corrected yourself, silently berating yourself for having such an obvious slip-up. “I don’t know what’s up with the bloke, he probably has poor vision.”

The suspect made a gasp of offense before glaring at you. “Excuse you but my eyesight is perfectly fine! In fact, my eyesight is so perfect I could count exactly how many freckles His Honor has just from this distance!”

“The suspect shall do no such thing!” The judge exclaimed hastily.

Van Zieks stated your position then last name which immediately straightened your back. “Sir?”

“Do try to keep your stuttering out of your testimony.” He growled before giving you a cold glare. “Else I’ll keep you out of your job.”

You shivered. “Y-Yes sir…”

From your right, Naruhodou hummed before getting the attention of the court. “Your Honor, I request that the information where the lamp was lit be added to the testimony!”

Damn! You hoped that he didn’t catch on to your tell.

“The lamp on the wall was lit but that didn’t stop the bloke from swinging his knife at me!”

“Objection!” The defense yelled, his finger pointing at you. “Officer, you said the lamp was lit, am I correct?”

You bit the inside of your cheek. “Y-Yes…”

“How strange…” He started, placing his index finger under his chin. “Because in this photo, the lamp appears to have been broken.”

Cripes!

“Broken?” His Honor questioned, bringing up the photo to his face again. “Why, it appears the glass has been shattered!”

Double cripes!

“Officer, what is the meaning of this?!” His honor exclaimed, furrowing his brows.

Your arms wound up below your chest, hands squeezing on your sleeves that you fear your fingernails can tear the cloth. The expenses to repair your coat doesn’t even cover the taste of iron that was in your tongue. You bit the inside of your cheek too hard and you didn’t even noticed it.

“I…” You gasped out. You tried to keep your focus away from the suspect or the rat man, but their annoying smirks were forever imprinted on your mind. You risked a glance at Naruhodou, whose face was beginning to become worried.

You stared at him, your eyes nearly watering and cocked your head to the suspect. You could only hope he got the message as you prepared yourself for your next move.

Whatever you were going to say would cost you your future either way.

“I stand by what I said.” You told the court with finality. “The lamp was lit. It didn’t matter that the glass was broken.”

And with that, the court went in an uproar. Men and women arguing on what you just said, the fact that an underdog of Scotland Yard would ignore a blatant fact. You didn’t care for their screams. You didn’t care for the glower van Zieks was giving you. You didn’t care for the triumphant smirk that the rats had on their faces.

What you did care was the future Naruhoudo had that you wanted to protect.

With a great detective as your lover, you thought that you had nothing to be afraid of.

You couldn’t help it. Even if it gets Tobias fuming, you had to admit that Sherlock emitted a charm that had you falling for. You fell in love with his theater of logic and reason (especially his fleeting touches whenever he slides near you before gliding off elegantly) and you fell in love with his little differences when he was alone with you.

Sherlock would always play his violin when you were around, the soft music gently swaying you to the music until you realize that Sherlock dropped his violin just to slow dance with you in his arms. You love him even more when you saw him taking care of Iris as best as he could until you stepped in, feeling your heart just swell at the warmth when you saw the three of you together like some weird family.

Which is why you cannot tell the entire court about this.

If people know about your relationship with the great detective, it would be the scandal of the century. If people were to find out about his and Iris’s relationship, it would be even more of a scandal than London’s most sought-out man is taken.

You blinked out of your stupor when you heard the judge call your name. You were back in the courtroom, on the witness stand, where everyone has their eyes on you, especially him.

Rat bastard thinks its entertainment that you get to suffer standing there while he sits there scott-free. Said he owes the suspect u beat up at your beat and soon, you were the unfortunate soul who got trapped in his schemes. You could barely remember his threats on spreading your relationship to the court but you hoped that with Sherlock in this courtroom, he can point out your discomfort.

Who were you kidding. This is Sherlock Holmes. It’s gonna take him and Naruhoudo’s shared brain cell and Iris’s whole brain to figure this out.

“Sorry,” you said, “I’ll get to my testimony.”

You hoped that he was able to catch on.

“… They’re awfully nervous today, aren’t they?” Naruhoudo remarked to his mentor, noting how your eyes shifted from the suspect next to you to the audience of this court. He tried to follow your eyes but you were too fast to flick your sight back to front.

Sherlock hummed, his eyes flicking to your form. He had never seen you this jittery before even if it’s well-concealed. He could’ve brushed off Naruhoudo and said that you were nervous because your lover was watching you but he knew that wasn’t the case. You were the calm and collected other half to his fiery personality. He has you to thank for the times that he wanted to off himself and he would never stop his… addictions when you hadn’t stepped in.

You were the light of his darkest days. Back when Yujin Mikotoba left London and left Sherlock in a stifling darkness. You got him out of this darkness that he doesn’t know what to do if you were to ever go away.

That’s why when he notices you fidget with your sleeves, feet slightly shifting on the floor that he notices something was wrong. His mind racks to find any plausible answer but he can’t quite pinpoint on a good possibility.

He hates not knowing.

“Pish posh, Naruhodou!” He comforted the young man, tipping the brim of his hat. “I’m sure that them being in the same room as THE Sherlock Holmes is sending their heart pounding!”

At least, he hopes that’s just the reason.

[181117] B.A.P Forever Tour in Philadelphia - Highlight of my Life

This was really one of the best concerts I’ve ever gone to. Despite being skeptical of JSJ from the beginning, I was still willing to risk it and buy the tickets. I was debating for a while to drop $400 or not for m&g but when you think about it, it was only $30 per photo with each of the boys (+ a hat, hoodie, and whistle) so that’s HELLA worth it.  So I dropped nearly $600 for this concert but for real it was SO worth it. I was even willing to go down by bus all by myself and possibly wandering the streets of philly late at night for it but luckily was able to catch a ride! 

These two BABYz gave out numbers from the very beginning like they marked down if you were plat or baby package and in the end JSJ and fans actually honored them! It was really great cuz we were able to leave the line to go to the bathroom or get food! BABYz around me were so nice and friendly too ;u; When it was time to go in to soundcheck and for the concert, we all actually got in order! It was REALLY nice like wow thank you philly babyz!! We were let in a little late for soundcheck cuz apparently bap was doing some kind of interview?? As for soundcheck, it was sooOOOoooOOO good!!! They kinda mixed up plat and baby but oh well whatever I still got like 3rd row so *^* WOOHOO! The stage was up really high and the venue was quite small, but philly crowd’s passion was explosive and powerful!! At the beginning of soundcheck Zelo kept like peeking out from the backstage door *^* they were ODing the fog machine so you could only see silhouettes at the door sometimes OTL. Daehyun was the first to come out! He came in this big puffer jacket and had earphones and and was smiling so cutely!! That wonderful wonderful kitty smile!! OH MY HEART PLEASE HAVE MERCY!! And then the others came out! <3 Zelo was wearing like PJ pants lmao the same one he wore in that IG pic of him in the truck, jongup was wearing leather (i think.....), himchan wore the tour hoodie, and youngjae wore a long coat. BUT YEAH the first song they did was TMJ and the crowd was hella LIT!!! Like everyone was singing their lungs out and jumping and being really really excited! We all started jamming out hardcore at the very first note of TMJ and I just knew it was about to be epic. BAP was sooo happy!! They really enjoyed it as well!  And then they did DWIF and omfg daehyun was soooo cute cuz we were so loud during the OH!! part that he was like :O!!!!! and gave us two thumbs up!! The others were really happy too!! And then Zelo was controlling the crowd with his hands LOL like he was making us go side to side like a wave and then jongup was doing this weird dance too lmaooo we hyped up each other so much! It was soo much fun ;A; too bad we couldn’t record but JSJ got a ( video )~!! Like just listen to BABYz singing along at the beginning!! ( dh shocked at 0:41, thumbs up at 0:51)

We had to go back outside again after the concert and that’s when the line got a little messy since now there was also GA peeps and the sidewalk is only so big to fit like 3 different lines. But it worked out in the end and we got in order!! AND YA GIRL GOT FCKN 2ND ROW HEEEEEEEEELLLL YEAHH!! I had a GREAT view!! There was actually quite a lot of space and like NO pushing!! (except this one bishhhh but whatever that’s another story -.- i’ll delete her from my memory) But wow pit was fCKN great like wow the fanchants!! The whistles!! NO PUSHING!! LIKE WHAT WOOOW I LOVE YOU (this was an all standing venue btw). When we were waiting for the concert to start, they played a bunch of their songs and everyone was scream-singing the lyrics (well more like trying to LOL we can’t korean) We had our own bap concert with an empty stage lmaooo 

AND AHHHH BAP WAS SOOOO GOOD AT FANSERVICE!!! Himchan noticed me like several times i fucking cRy!! He looked and waved at mee TWICE and like gestured to focus on zelo for recording and taking pics when it was his part AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Like last year he saw me struggling in pit (cuz that was HELL) and looked worried I CRY and he smiled at me too huuuhuuu himchan youre a fckn angel I LOVE YOU!!! I made a half heart at daehyun and hE FCKN COMPLETED IT I WAS ABOUT TO FCKN DIE RIGHT THEN AND THERE LIKE !!!!!!!!!!!! JOngup threw so many hearts and kisses at the crowd and youngjae blew so many kisses!! They were waving as much as possible to fans and daehyun, bless his heart, kept saying thank you!!thank you!! at any chance he could get!

During Q&A, bap spent the longest time arguing about harry potter houses pmsl and then yj was just like idk i never watched it (shame on you bro) and then himchan was like EXPECTRO PATRONUM!! (nerrRRRddddd). Jongup said he was fckn Dobby like bruH thats not even a house!!! YJ was like forget this!! and said, “PASS!!” Himchan said that he was Slytherin and then jongup said that Himchan would be fkcn Snape and did this dramatic coat sweeping straightening up his back thing LOL so himchan said Jongup would be a muggle pmsl Zelo did like a broom riding imitation??? irdk.... Next question was what was your favorite song that you’ve ever made. Jongup answered Photo and sang a little of it (so then where is the studio version biiSHHHhh) but lol BABYz were like SEXY CLAP!!!!!! Youngjae pulled out a question, looked at it and was like NOPE! and put it back pmsl! The next question was what tricks can Mochii do and then youngjae was frckn like body slamming zelo and jongup lmaooo. Zelo was sooooo cute he was telling the story of how Mochii bit in all in English!! He said how he was eating and was struggling to explain that Mochii was under the table so BABYz were helping him! He said that he dropped cheese and then Mochii went to eat it but Zelo tried to stop him. Mochii bit and and then Zelo was like “ooh! bloood! my dog is ...wildlife” but the way he said blood was soo cute like the oo in moon instead of “blud”  This sweet precious boy!! His English was so good!!!! The next question was to sing happy birthday to a BABY named Jenny (wow you LUCKY girl im sooo jelly omfg). So Zelo sings her hbd really dramatically lmao and they give her their sweaty towel and Zelo gave her a water bottle too!! They’re so sweet!!!!!!! 

During their other talk segment, Youngjae was like since our tour in america, philly has been the most passionate! So we all SCREAMED and cheered like crazy! Daehyun was like hold up!! AGAIN! and went to grab a phone. He made us all scream and cheer again so he could record it. The boys kept gesturing to scream louder and more and were totally enjoying the cheers! I hope we conveyed our love for them well enough!! Also Daehyun release that footage soon pls!!! He told us we did a good job screaming lmaoo! Youngjae kept making sounds for us to repeat lmao like ooOOoooo (idk how to describe it LOL) and then was like “maestro!” when trying to silence us with his fingers like a conductor LOL but we kept screaming things LOL someone was like “this is my first kpop concert!!” so youngjae was like “sounds good!” and gave a thumbs up. Jongup also did the conductor thing hahahah Daehyun promised to come back again next year and I REALLY REALLY hope that they do!!!! 

The solos were beyond amazing. Like rewatching youngjae and daehyun’s solos made me tear up like how do such beautiful voices exist in this world? Did I really hear those ethereal voices in real life? It was sooo mesmerizing and breathtaking! Youngjae’s gorgeous baritone voice singing that smooth ballad huuuhuuu my heEArt!!! Daehyun’s heartwrenchingly beautiful voice, song, and lyrics wow let me just lie down and drown in my tears rn bYE! DaeUp’s duet was so cool, Jongup’s TML was perfect as usual, Zelo’s solo was sinful oh my those hip and that peach *blushes* it was suuuper fun and Zelo enjoyed it a LOT too!!! He lifted up his shirt!! 

THEN IT WAS M&G TIME!!! They set up the background right in front of the stage. We lined up to go in and bap was standing like: jongup, youngjae, daehyun, himchan, zelo! It was plat individual photos first, then baby group + hi-touch, then plat group + hi-touch. BABYz really went for it!! Like a lot of us got hugs! We were able to watch the whole m&g but they didnt let us have our phones out ;A; (and I also had used up all 6.5 GB of space on my phone OTL) BAP were SOOOOOOOO sweet UGH we stan literal ANGELS!! They love BABYz so fricken much!! JSJ was sooo nice to allow a lot of fan interactions AHHHHHHHH BAP did a lot of cute poses and played around with BABYz! LEt mE TELL YOU THAT BAP IS SERIOUSLY SOOOO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL, HANDSOME, GORGEOUS, STUNNING, MESMERIZING, UP CLOSE HOW DID MY HEART EVEN SURVIVE?????? I GOT TO BEAR HUG EVERYONEEEE THEYRE ALL SO TALL AND IM HELLA SMOL SO THEY HAD TO SQUAT DOWN FOR ME HUUHUU THYE LIKE PATTED MY BACK DURING THE HUGS TOO AHHHHHH WE HAD A DECENT AMOUNT OF TIME WITH ALL OF THEM!!! I TOLD DAEHYUN I SAW HIM IN KOREA IN ASU AND HE WAS LIKE OOOOOH THANK YOU!!! CURSES TO MY TINY AF VOICE CUZ I DONT THINK THEY ALL EVEN REALLY HEARD WHAT I SAID SOMETIMES!!! I told Zelo he was too tall for me lmaooo I really wanna see how much he had to bend down for me! I seriously wished that my m&g was recorded but :((((((((((( After my m&g I legit squealed and hugged my friend lmao but the staff yelled at us for being too loud LMAO BUT GIRL WE JUST HUGGED FCKN KINGS LIKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We tried to contain ourselves as much as possible LOL Daehyun said thank you out loud to a lot of BABYz after their m&g! Zelo kept dabbing at BABYz lmaooo a lot of them didnt notice tho cuz he would do it after they had already passed him HAHAHA when it was my hi-touch I dabbed at Zelo hahah and he dabbed back :D I wanted to get a group hug from them but i got too excited and FUCKING FORGOT to ask for a group hug *kicks myself* Now I wish I had written my name on a name tag (like “HI I’M JUNIE”) and hope they wouldve said “HI JUNIE”  but I didnt OTL 

I really wish I could relive the whole day. I wish I was able to record my m&g and got a group hug or them to say my name or I had said something more to them but it’s ok my heart is very very happy and I love bap soo much. My 7 year love for them continues and I will really love them forever. Let’s meet again soon, my loves! I’m looking forward to then~!
