how to get f1 driver cards, a guide for mclaren, mercedes and williams (more to come)

im going to start by saying that there is a high high chance not everything on this is accurate. for some reason this is a stupidly complex process and i am just trying my best :)

what are driver cards? every year (most) teams have cards made of their drivers with their pictures and sometimes stats and fun facts, etc. they change every year and are collectible. theyre free, technically, as long as you pay for the postage.

ive sent away for some of them before, and those are the teams i have included as i know these ones work. will add more teams on as i attempt others this year.

MERCEDES

objectively this is the easiest one to get. you fill out an online form and if you are lucky you will get cards sent to you. the form is live for the 2025 cards as of me posting this.

beware: the address form is formatted for UK addresses only for some reason. if you are trying to send to the US with an address that is two lines (ie, a street address with an apartment number or a po box) there is a good chance it wont work. i have gotten it to work for street addresses only (both attempts to have them sent to an apartment address failed). this one also took the longest, several months.

all other teams require a double envelope, stamp and letter situation.

very basically, you address an envelope to the team and put yourself as the return address. it needs a stamp (domestic if the team is in your country, international if it is not)

write a letter to the team, something along the lines of "dear x team, i am a big fan of you and your drivers x and y and i like watching you / rooting for you for xyz reasoning (etc etc). i was wondering if i could get the 20xx drivers cards? thanks (name)." it doesnt have to be super fancy.

put this letter in the envelope along with another a5 size folded envelope addressed to yourself (this is the envelope that the team will send your cards in, make sure it is the right size and also has your correct address.

the a5 envelope also needs a stamp and here is where it gets a little tricky. if the team is based in the same country you are you use a domestic stamp. if you are Not in the same country as the team this is the terribly fun (read: tricky) part.

you can either include the pounds/euros needed to buy a stamp in the envelope or you can purchase an international stamp from that country and use that. i have gone the stamp route before (ordered royal mail stamps off of British amazon) and it worked. i put five second class barcoded stamps on each envelope and they came back to me okay. (could also use first class stamps, i dont remember why i ended up choosing the second class ones) (you have to check the stamp prices and make sure that the total stamp costs equal how much it costs to send a letter internationally (second class stamps are 85p as of me writing this and it costs 2.80 pounds to mail a letter internationally from the uk to the us specifically (all of this is findable on the royal mail site) so i would put 4 or 5 stamps to be safe per envelope in case stamp prices rise again)

put that whole folded envelope and your letter in your addressed envelope to the team and mail it out.

MCLAREN

they seem to be pretty responsive. i got my card for mclaren within i think 2 or 3 months. be extra careful when addressing your envelopes to the uk, the seven letter/ number combination is the most important and should be the most legible thing. i think this is formatted correctly. (again, im from the us. uk addresses confuse the hell out of me)

again, they were pretty responsive. i think i got mine in 2 or 3 months. my envelope was the wrong size for this team but they sent me the cards anyway in a different size envelope. again, really make sure that your seven number/letter thing is clear. there both a O and 0 in it so i would put a slash through the 0.

fun little note: my sister and i both sent away for mclaren and williams last year. despite them having the Exact Same Addresses and being sent from The Exact Same Post Office on the Exact Same Day, my mclaren one was returned to sender for the reason unable to be delivered. my sister got her mclaren card in the mail the next week. and i got my williams card but my sisters got returned to sender for the reason of unable to be delivered. i have absolutely no idea why. not remotely. i resent both of them and had no problems the second time around.

good luck. its kinda challenging but it is fun. im going to try to send off for more this year so ill provide more advice once i figure it out but as for now, i know these ones work. i would wait until the start of the season to mail any requests, though fill out the mercedes one sooner if you want that :)

ok so basically im gonna explain the og timeline first so that i can like. define where the paths diverged into abw. emma may and fidds met when they were younger (about 1960 or so?). they were really good friends and all. fidds transitioned(1968), theyre still good cause em is supportive and all that. so now because its a boy and a girl people were like “relationship when?” and because fidds liked guys and em just. wasnt that interested in marriage in general. they were like “okay then. we can pretend we’re dating. thats fine.” so they did because they thought it would be the most simple way out of it. and then they runaway to college together (1972). fidds meets stanford, em probably kisses a few girls, idk. and then after college they got married (1977). now fidds actually wanted to have a kid. even outside of the whole religious and general societal pressures. and em was fine with that. this won’t make things complicated at all whatsoever. so they have tate. everything is going perfectly fine. 

and then that phone call happened (1980)

so fidds leaves. em is now in california with tate. fidds says he’ll be back soon. and about 2 years later is when it diverges. in the og timeline, fidds just doesnt come back. he gives a phone call, but its all cryptic and like. horrifying. so they divorce. the problem was less that he was out with stanford. that wasnt the issue. it was that he just left her behind entirely to deal with a kid that he wanted in the first place. so then they divorce. mostly to keep tate safe. even though that backfires completely and he leaves to go after fidds anyways (2002) which is an entirely different can of worms that i will also yap about if anyone wants me to.. HOWEVER. in abw, fidds calls em after the portal is called off. he has clearer communication and basically says “hey we called off the project because it was super dangerous. but i wanna stay in gravity falls with stanford and we’re gonna do really big things and have a bunch of money” so they work out a situation. em and tate move to oregon, theyre still married. they stay best friends. tate has both parents (including an extra dad lmao) and everyone is happy for the most part. em is actually pretty interested in the work that fidds and stanford do, so she visits sometimes to just watch what goes on and listen to fidds ramble on about it for a while, which is what was depicted in the fiddtober drawing. tldr; abw em doesnt divorce fidds. moves to oregon. supports him and stanford.  everyone happy.

Absolutely obsessed with the idea that YouTwo was only able to basically steal your entire identity because the Society is so infatuated with you that any weird changes in your behavior are completely brushed off because they already like you so much that you'd have to do something like super outrageous and hurtful for them to like, really start getting suspicious. You're getting extremely depressed because you think you're being replaced by this impersonator when, in truth, the only reason everyone seems to instantly like them is because they literally look and sound exactly like you, and the SECOND it comes out that that ISNT you? Well. I mean. It's an entire society of Spiderpeople from across the multiverse. There's definitely at least ONE murderer who's going to 'take care of them' or at the very least they're kicked out of Nueva York and never allowed to travel the multiverse ever again

Like. I just. Cannot even imagine like. On one hand you think they would be so obsessed and observant kf you that they immediately know when theyre speaking to you or your double, i'm sure SOME people are suspicious, but, the idea of them just being so crazy for you "oh gosh yesterday I hung out with Reader and they kicked a puppy for getting dirt on them and the next day when I asked them about it they started crying about 'why is everyone accusing me of shit I didn't do' and said they hadn't hung out with me in weeks. They must just be really stressed from work, you know they push themselves so hard, we should tell Miguel to give them some PTO :(" like they would basically be willing to make excuses for almost anything you do because "oh that's just Reader aren't they great 🥰 they're a lil quirky sometimes but we love them"

YouTwo would honestly be such a nasty little manipulator and genuine threat to your safety because once they realize holy shit they really could have ANYTHING, they dont want to give that up. Imagine you start having situations like, oh your double accidentally bumps passed you so hard it knocks you over and basically no one reacts because they thought YOU were the extra. Things randomly falling on you from higher levels. Them pretending to be you and "creating scenes" in public where you're getting publicly berated. They start fake crying and saying you're being mean to them and suddenly you're being asked to leave?

It's this vicious back and forth of them treating you well and like they normally do and then suddenly treating you awful and you don't even realize it's because that two faced POS is literally stealing your costume or mask and any other personal effects to impersonate you. I can only imagine the PANDEMONIUM when they realize you're GONE gone or even worse, started becoming suicidal. I keep thinking back to my idea of Reader needing to wear one of their dimensional watches to help keep them tethered down so they don't glitch out and potentially taking it off and it just makes them blink somewhere else instead of, like, die. And, like, there's just some public incident where a bunch of them become aware Oh Shit You're Not Doing Good.

Like. I have a draft started and I started getting down like a specific scene I couldn't get out of my head. Reader is needing to be needed and the Society has this project where they're trying to make a big large scaled elevator sort of platform for like, older and disabled Spiders so they don't all have to swing everywhere and can still be included, and just for Spiders who may be tires after a long day and don't want to swing and climb, and there's some massive incident where it's starting to break apart spring construction of you rush to help because you NEED to be helpful again, you NEED to feel like you matter, and everyone is trying to band together to keep all this debri and rubble from falling below and you're literally like, have one arm hanging on to a tether and your other arm holding up this massive like bus sized piece of the elevator shaft that had started to fall. And people are literally screaming at you to just let it drop, but you're saying they have no idea if everyone below was evacuated, and this elevator is so important, everyone's been working so hard, you can't just let it break, even as trying to hold it up is practically tearing you in half

You manage to create a calculated array of webs that supports it from completely falling but some falling pieces and rubble still break apart and you're so worn down that you just knocked off a platform and fall, landing hard and even having shit fall on top of you. You're just pinned by a massive piece of concrete and you're too exhausted from pushing yourself to hard for the last few weeks that you can't lift it off. You smacked different surfaces on the way down and somehow your bracelet came off and you're glitching. You can see the bracelet caught on a piece of rebar thats far away but close enough to grab if you shoot a web. But. Suddenly you cant find the motivation to. The rescue team and other Spiders and most important Miguel finally arrive on the scene to find you basically about to completely fade away or teleport or whatever and everyone is freaking out, trying to pick through the debris for the watch, lifting the construction materials off of your body (but I imagine you probably broke something, fractured a femur or something similar) and Miguel notices you keep glancing behind him, but. He doesn't miss how resigned you look, how tired and deflated you sound as you ask if the elevator is ok to which almost everyone responds hey yo FUCK the elevator you're about to like DIE??? And you just. Kind of laugh and say "at least i helped and did at least one good thing in my life" which freaks them all out, and eventually Miguel turns around to look where you keep glancing at and sees the bracelet just in time and his heart breaks as he realizes, holy shit you could see it was hanging there but just. Wasn't going to tell them. You were just going to die.

But hey, only he really makes that realization and you only have to deal with him having that knowledge, right? Wrong. He goes to put it back on you and countless Spiders can see and hear as you shake your head and close your eyes and whimper "just let me go. I don't belong here"

So now basically EVERYONE knows AND now you're straight up in a fucking wheelchair and Miguel tells you, obviously you'll be having no more work until you're completely healed up, and even though that's to help you it actually makes you more upset because like, imagine they give your job to your double. So now, in your mind, you have no reason to be here. You feel like you're completely alone and now your "purpose" is gone and you're BEGGING HIM not to do this to you, that you can still do SOMETHING, and this man is looking at you literally injured in a wheelchair being, by no exaggeration, HYSTERICAL, and thinks "yeah no, poor Reader DEFINITELY needs a break, obviously being so obsessed with being useful isn't healthy, a break from their responsibilities will help them rest" and, like, kind of true but it also just makes you feel so much worse

I imagine YouTwo would HATE you being in the wheelchair too because now people can definitively tell the two of you apart and the imposter can't suck up all the perks of you being the local darling and they're even angrier than before because YT is like "wow so even after all this time, I still don't compare" and vows to basically fucking kill you (and hey maybe they were even behind the elevator collapsing?)

But you finally decide you can't take it anymore once you're out of the chair, those constantly watching eyes and people hanging around you --which really is the whole yandere thing but also them wanting to keep an eye on you so you dont get hurt-- you interpret it as them thinking you're stupid and incompetent and I imagine you just kind of. Blow up. Get triggered. Reach your breaking point. You had just been insisting that you do a certain task alone or visit a certain place by yourself without having an extra shadow or two or twelve and you're just, you've had it, your stress from EVERYTHING is coming out in this moment and you're just SCREAMING, "Leave me alone, just give me some FUCKING SPACE" and you just TAKE OFF and that's when we get a massive chase. Obviously given that they're you know yandere and you're so extremely upset and have had mental health issues they IMMEDIATELY take after you and someone is phoning Miguel and at some point you're literally like, swinging in between traffic to try and lose your pursuers and you can hear Miguel behind you and it's just unlocking this insane sense of fear and panic and fight or flight inside of you. They're making it so much worse by chasing you and in THEIR minds they're just worried about you and think you're just having a panic attack? Which you are but like, from your perspective, you're literally being smothered and you ask for some time alone and now you're being hunted down and now you're just upset and panicking

You have to be literally tackled and at this point you're just getting angry and belligerent. Some rando is like "Reader this isn't you, we had so much fun last week at the mall when I bought you all that stuff" nd you're just like "I don't even know who you are, what the fuck are you talking about, ove barely left home in the last 3 months except for work" and suddenly so many people are popping up in the crowd,

"Wait so it wasn't you I leant 50 bucks to last Tuesday?"

"No!"

"But you and I went out to the mall yesterday?"

"You mean when I was sleeping at home all day?"

"Weren't you with us when we stole a bunch of stuff from the British Musuem with Pavitr?"

"Who the FUCK is Pavitr?!"

Everyone starts absolutely freaking the fuck out and clamoring amongst themselves, comparing stories, and they quickly realize, oh holy shit they've actually barely seen you around for months, almost NO ONE has actually spent time with the real you. Your doppelganger was so efficient and on their toes at never getting caught that the Society never even realized you were basically gone and now they're all kicking themselves as you lay there crying "you guys didn't even notice I was gone? You can't even tell us apart?"

Miguel calls for an emergency meeting with every Spider in the super secret We Love Reader club as everyone irons out their stories and gives their personal accounts while Miguel reviews it with security footage and they start to fully grasp just how BADLY this-this IMPOSTER has-has-has DEFILED their bonds with you and drove you into isolation and self doubt and they're all raving, lynch mob mad. And obviously unless they're like, completely out of their minds, they can't KILL your faker, but, like.... they can beat them half to death though. Like could you imagine that some of these Spiders have been deadass giving like really significant meaningful gifts they intended to you and it was given to A STRANGER? Some Peter Parker finds out, oh shit he gave that old token from Uncle Ben to THEM, not YOU? So many of them confronting the faker and finding out they've just been stealing tons of gifts and money and favors and shit and they've GOTTEN RID OF some of the things that were meant for YOU. These are some seriously pissed off stalkers at this point.

But Jesus. The absolute mayhem if they didn't find all of this out until you've already snuck off to a normal, Spider free section of Nueva York or another dimension entirely and you've just been GONE. Their guilt and realization that they drove you away amd you left to never have to see any of them. You're just like trying to live a normal life in an apartment somewhere and suddenly at least 5 costumed pursuers are suddenly in your living room with Miguel checking you all over and making sure you're not hurt anywhere, hell maybe he even finds self harm cuts, some new, some clesrly older, and they make it abundantly clear that you're NOT staying here by yourself. You're coming back to the Society HQ in Nueva York and you're getting an even better (and bugged) apartment than you had before and they're gonna make sure they pay more attention yo you this time, right? No more crazy stunts, and definitely no more trying to leave.

Ok. Ok I know this post is getting long but I have one last bit. What if the alternative to YouTwo getting exposed and them having to come after you is, YouTwo actually manages to "switch your places" or something, maybe they even switch their costume wirh yours while stealing yours so you're walking around dressed as them, looking for them to get your costume back, and suddenly you're being confront by Miguel and a ton of other Spiders because that evil little rat ran to them fake crying saying that "the other me impersonating me" and, you're kind of being deliberately trapped in a scenario where you look kind of guilty. Like imagine YouTwo is escorted away and suddenly Miguel and the rest are being rude to you and when you try to tell O'Hara "I'm not lying, I'm the REAL--" and he just slaps you and tells you to leave the city and never come back, and AFTER they treated you so deliberately terribly, THAT'S when they realize what happened

yes actually another god features in this story, the Talespinner!

this is the god that dexter is magically bound to serve during his term. they are the god of all words spoken, so songs, poetry, that type of thing.

both gods are very playful and lighthearted on the surface, because they're made of lots of playful and lighthearted stories.

but they can quickly drop any pretenses that they have a human moral compass.

like if they wanted to say, make sure they still have an archivist when their last family is about to leave.

both of them are HIGHLY unethical in their recruitment strategies.

[also for anyone paying extra attention in my character designs, the colour symbolizing the gods' is BLUE. so dexter and the ghost are both very blue. you can see in my art of james that his eyes turn blue when he becomes immortal. the witches are also blue, but less than an outright servant of a god.]

they don't have a physical form in this story, but they do in their magical god realm place. the storytaker is less of a humanoid body, more of a giant swirling mass of constantly flipping pages of everything ever written, from the art of war to bathroom handwashing instructions. the talespinner is just audio, but has a very very intense presence. like soundwaves you can't hear but can feel vibrating the very earth. and also everything else. things feel weird when they're around because theyre constantly being as quiet as they can or else theyd obliterate everything for a couple miles from soundwaves alone.

but no lmao seriously the character of james is something really important to the story, but i intend of forshadowing it pretty heavily.

but since you're here on tumblr i'll tell you. it'll be more of a secret to youtube viewers.

the magic system is actually not very developed. i kind of left it vague on purpose rn because i may need some magic thing to happen and i need to not worldbuild myself into a corner here.

but witches are a thing, they tend to specialize in a specific type of magic, i.e. stars, weather, plants, usually something in the natural world. this includes gravity. and colours and such.

gods exist, but the type of gods in this story are more magical beings created and powered by a thing made by people.

you can't have a god of agriculture without first inventing agriculture yourself. sort of the situation.

but there are other gods. the ones who deal with life or death or again, gravity and physics and all that, who are less in touch with mortals bc they don't need them to keep powering them up.

We never actually saw the wound Jaime gave Ned, but based on several things, I can very easily assume that the wound was very large and wasn’t just ripping apart muscle, Eddard likely had some form of nerve damage due to how close he was stabbed to his hip. The likely culprit would have been Eddard’s Sciatica, since that’s the huge, thick nerve that connects the legs to the spinal chord, and the area where he was stabbed was where the nerve would be the thickest and therefore easier to injure. If Eddard would have lived it would have severely dampened his quality of life, most likely permanently.

In other words, that’s why the scar on his thigh is as large as it is.

Uhhhh… gave him some chunk because idk. Both he and Robert are warriors and it would make sense for them to have actual body fat on them because medieval warriors were NOT 0%-5% body fat having sweaty dudes with rippling six packs lmao. Most warriors tended to be a bit on the chunky side (not overweight, mind you), but they would have pooch on them to simply ✨protect their organs from getting stabbed✨.

Plus he’s a middle aged man, and post-injury it’d make sense to have a bit more paunch on him after his injury especially since he wouldn’t be able to move around as much as he would have been.

Lightning bolt scars. Yeah, Idfk. He’s from Storm’s End, I think lightning bolt scars look cool as shit and he’s stupid enough (/pos) to have probably been struck by lightning at least once in his lifetime considering he was from Westeros’s equivalent of Florida with how shit the weather is described.

Puberty was hell. Robert is MOSTLY male in his intersex, he doesn’t have much of any of the necessary biological features of a woman except for like. A vaginal opening and a really fucked up uterus that has like half a single ovary. Top surgery scars are there because of the fact that he had breasts when he was first going through puberty because fucky hormones but other than that he is completely biologically male.

And also sterile as shit on the female end.

Eddard is the only one who really knows about the whole “having both” thing. Besides maybe like… Cersei? But even then that’s a stretch since Robert is excruciatingly paranoid of people finding out about. That. Especially if it was Cersei.

The antler Tattoo represents him and Ned. Ned had one that matched on his thigh of Weirwood branches. (Keyword had, it got fucked up by the sword incident.) it was a little tiny thing that only they really knew what it meant.

Robert has heterochromia. The Baratheons are just Targs with extra steps and less incest (in theory) and his grandmother was a Targ so I thought it’d be neat to give him a deep indigo eye and one blue one.

it’s kinda cool to me how so many years ago I’d play sonic games on my Gameboy or the X-box with my relatives

then some years pass by I started watching Sonic X,play the sonic run game thingy on mobile- there’s also this sonic racing cars game I forgot it’s name bare with me :,] idk if it’s on iPad or Xbox/playstation but like I remember playing it too!!

then oop sonic boom came out- watched it a bit (not so enthusiastically I didn’t like it at first- not the character design or attitude or anything- I especially HATED how dumb they made my boy knuckles 😭 listen I was still pretty young HSHSHS)

but then I discovered some really funny sonic YT channels- my favorite one and I still watch now is SonicSong182 - they’re so silly and I love everything bout this channel XD I recommend (at some point they were also part of my childhood pf) and I just discovered it again last year!!! My inner child was STIMMIIIIING more so knowing that one of my close friends know this channel too :D!

and then the first and second sonic movies came out AND BOYYY THEYRE SO GOOOOOOOOD AUGHHH I need to rewatch them just to refresh memory AND to be more hyper for Sonic 3 :]

and now college me is gonna watch sonic 3 — like ngl im so happy to live through this and im so so happy Sonic never really died and I never really lost interest in it at all,no matter what,im just thankful Sonic made my childhood,made my teenage hood,making my adulthood,and still making my inner child so happy Yanno?

I own a pottery wheel, and I make a lot of clay pots for fun, I never actually fire them in a kiln. I have a little section behind my house for arrow shooting and archery.

My love language is very clingy and anxious. I send long paragraphs, I double text, and if I don't get a response in 48 hours without warning I will spam in a sense of care. I really like stealing hoodies, sending mirror pictures, and cuddling. I overall though, around people I'm comfortable with, very happy and uplifting and usually less anxious, except with lovers, then it goes back to panic. I love calling and texting, sending lovey dovey spotify playlists, and sharing pin/tiktoks/youtube shorts to my partner and stuff of the similar.

My style is decent. Not amazing, but it works.
