i know i definitely need to start thinking about how the tsukacchako ocs (i need a name for the three of them T-T) got together, that could be fun to write in the future .... i also need to think more about their like characters without making them copies of tsukacchako, cause like i said before theyre just like skeleton versions right now they need more MEAT

AH OKAY!!!

well cyberverse is a great mix of lore, it doesnt REQUIRE you to know much about transformers, but i think it helps. like you wont care who skybyte is, but he shows up to do haikus, its a reference but it doesnt mean you NEED to watch RID 2001 to get it. its very fun, it tells its story out of order at first, as its windblade helping bumblebee recover his memories after a streak of amnesia after being stranded on earth. due to the nature of its storytelling, you get this grand picture of the story of the war, where it came from how it started, how the characters feel about it. it takes things that didnt work in other iterations and blends them well here. its really great at mixing the silly stuff and the dark stuff, it strikes a happy balance and by the time it ends you really will feel like youve seen an entire history and feel satisfied with how it ends. it can be goofy, it can be dark. its always good. also BEAUUUUUTIFUL show.

earthspark is still ongoing, but i think that show really lends itself well to being something thats saying "yes" to every show thats come before it and saying "and now what?" so if cyberverse was the show that ended the war, the show that said "okay heres how you end the war realistically", earthspark says "now that the war is over, whats next?". its about a new generation of transformers, who are born on earth! theyre part organic, theyre from a mixed family. the show blends metaphorical representation with real representation. the father of their family is an immigrant (or child of immigrants) and transformers are too! theres queercoding when talking about 'hey, maybe your alt mode isnt meant to be like your siblings' and then queer rep with actual non binary characters! its full of so much love and acceptance its so beautiful. its not about autobots and decepticons, its about the maltobots! and how they relate TO the autobots and decepticons. its still ongoing so we dont know how it will end, but WOW is it ever breathtaking and full of more heart than anything else has been. theres a bit of a jump between s1 and s2a where they changed animation studios and people are having a hard time, but honestly its STILL really good to look at. its just that s1 was like.... TOOO good so everyones a lil dissapointed. but it was so good they COULDNT keep making it. if that makes sense.

i hope that helps. i would rec watching cyberverse THEN earthspark, and like having some base lore knowledge before that (but it sounds like you do) whether its from g1 or animated or something like that. just so you know who the guys theyre talking about are in cyberverse but its not really required.

my sincere apologies to everyone who's sick of seeing me talk about all my griefs with veilguard, but i do have more lol

did anyone else feel an extreme lack of connection between rook and the rest of the party? is that just me? like it feels like they spent a lot of time focusing on the interpersonal relationships between the companions and their individual stories, and then rook is just... there. and like i get it, the charcters are important and always have been. but it feels like rook really gets sidelined. (forewarning i also got sidetracked and talk abt a lot of loose story ends and stuff)

and maybe i just missed out on it because i played a shadow dragon who didnt save minrathous, but even their background doesnt feel super important. like i get rook is a hero by happenstance but like.... idk.

yeah idk for an rpg, especially a bioware rpg, i expect more. like da2 might have been super restricted bc there was no origin choice, but at least you were connected to the story. the warden was integral to the story. the inquisitor had the mark and was integral to the story.

and rook was just like... a silly goofy lil guy who cracks jokes no matter which dialogue option you choose and as much as i enjoy the heroes who are like "someone has to do the job so i guess it might as well be me if no one else is gonna do it", it felt incredibly mishandled.

and again, idk, maybe i missed out on a lot bc i did play a shadow dragon who saved treviso and romanced the slowburn guy who had virtually no romancr content which is a whole problem on its own, but... whatever lmao 🙃

oh and as i just saw a post about it on twitter, its WILD that they brought back morrigan AND ALSO ISABELA ???? and you get NO say in their history, when it is very easy to have both of them permanently leave ur party in their respective games. like im sorry, isabela learned the meaning of found family in kirkwall? every game i have ever played, i have never succeeded in getting her to stay even when i was trying to. they couldnt even be bothered to say hawkes name once in veilguard but isabela is gonna wistfully namelessly reference them??? and the fact that a character who could have been trapped in the fade and is never mentioned once in a game that is all about people being trapped in the fade

and do NOT get me started on morrigan and flemeth. we are NOT going to pretend flemeth wasnt a horrible woman who had daughters for the sole sake of creating a posessable vessel. or the fact that in a lot of worldstates, morrigan has a son who we were previously told contained the soul of an old god of tevinter... only to find out that that isnt true, so that boy was also possessed by a fragment of the spirit of an elven god, which flemeth and then solas potentially also stole if kieran existed.

and also never acknowledge the fact that there are still in fact 5 blighted elven gods trapped in the fade, granted they would hypothetically be mortal with their dragons dead but like... theyre still out there.

and dont get me started on the state of the south, i will literally never be able to care about anything else knowing what happened there. and like, idk what bioware expected. we spent three whole games in ferelden + the free marches. and i will argue, that as interesting as the rest of the world is, ferelden + the free marches are the home of dragon age. and that very well might just be me, but i feel like having games set anywhere else created a rift very similar to the rift between andromeda and the main mass effect series

ESPECIALLY with the "secret ending" cutscene (spoilers for that now if you havent seen it)

hinting at the series going even bigger + beyond the fade, its giving pathfinder/dnd outer realms, and im sorry, but if dragon age leaves the medieval fantasy theme to go for eldritch/alien beings, im gone. my interest in the series is dead. implying that everything that has happened has been the design of some greater beings and all of your heroes and their actions were actually someone else's doing all along... its an insult to player agency, and you can NOT continue doing that as much as EA has done in an rpg series. the dissolution of the keep and previous player choices and characters appearing in zero capacity was already a lot, but i could accept it if the scope of the story was beyond our choices. but with solas's dagger being the one hawke found in the deep roads, with darkspawn ravaging ferelden again and there being no mention of alistair or the grey warden who could very much still be alive and in the order, let alone be ruling the fucking kingdom, its fucking insane actually. its insane that the only choice that apparently has any meaning was how you inquisitor felt about solas, and beyond that, if you romanced him. even disbanding the inquisition doesnt seem important anymore, bc there is zero mention of solas and his agents that he had in trespasser.

like yes, sorry, i am mad actualy that no one else and nothing else mattered. the inquisitor and dorian stood side by side and you dont even get to determine their relationship if they arent together. like the man who invented telephones and face time for his best friend can only say "bet u cant wait to go home and see a certain somebody, WINK", not even considering the fact they might not have been friends.

how funny and easy it would have been for varric (ignoring the fact that hes a ghost) to make one singular joke about hawke dating an abomination and rook doing the same. for isabela to mention fenris or merrill, or a romanced hawke. for merrill to never be mentioned again despite being so dedicated to researching and restoring her eluvian. for fenris to never be mentioned despite his ties to seheron and tevinter. for the warden to never be mentioned despite ending one blight just to have two more ravage their country in their lifetime. for the crows to be a main faction and zevran gets two vague unnamed mentions in companion ambiant dialogue. for starkhaven and fucking sebastian vael, a character many people didnt see bc he was a dlc add-on, let alone a highly disliked character who a lot of people with his dlc never even recruited. no mention of hawke or their warden sibling, who were said to have disappeared after venturing to weisshaupt when all the wardens were recalled and the keep went silent. and i am going to harp on this, the cure for the fucking blight. because it is possible, and now with veilguard, we have seen it TWICE in canon.

it really just drives home that actually, the scope hadnt gone past the former heroes, they just cared more about telling their own story than collaborating with the players who make the games possible.

anyways bioware im in your fucking walls, ea i know where you fucking live and i do actually expect better from a triple a studio who was fucking stupid enough to acquire a studio who was revolutionary and famous for their storytelling only to not fucking support that

So i was thinking about the hairstyles of both joronia and taranza because they have differences but are still pretty similar

Obviously taranza is famous for his silly little bowl cut and it would seem joronia is just an extension of that but theyre a lil different! Taranza has these full bangs whilst joronia has this cool middle parting. Joronia also has a more sculpted volume to her hair when compared to taranzas simple flat cut.

Now what gets interesting is... when RTDLX came out we got the old friend mask which gives a much clearer view of joronias hairstyle. Now why am i bringing up the old friend mask? Because!!! Fuckin look at dark taranza just look

They are incredibly similar right?? Notice the similar split bangs and a very similar shape at the base of the hair. Also the fur collar around taranzas neck, just like sectonia... also literally look at his body that is sectonias body!!

What im trying to say is that i think theres more to dark taranza than just haha silly evil what if goofy man. This is a version of taranza who got swallowed up by his own obsession to bring back sectonia/joronia. Hes become so obsessed that hes unconciously changing himself in ways that end up resembling both who she used to be and who she was when she died. I find it very interesting

im voting for the scrubbadingo i mean the armadillo because as much as i love the crab and penguin for being more unique than just generic usual penguin/crab, and representing a unique critter, teaching me of something that i didnt know existed (fiddler crabs are very neat) ...i just cant see myself interacting with them that much? like, okay, yes crab claws are the most useful of the uses, but im not looking to how useful they are very much im looking for a mix of how cute they are and how i think theyll effect my general experience. and even if i pretend that mangroves spawned often, would i really interact with crabs that often? id probably just grab a claw and be outta there, which could be annoying if it took a lot of time, or just... mm, i think id rather reaching farther be not related to a random animal penguins seem goofy and fun but boats are fast enough, and i see myself just kinda... spending a BIT of time with them ig? but not really appreciating them but armadillos? they spawn in the biome that currently, i view as just a disappointment honestly. i feel disdain seeing savannas, since theyre just like, worse plains with occasional llamas? plus, they could eat termites if they ever get out of the ideas purgatory honestly, i just... theyre all so cute, and 2 of them represent really cool creatures that should get more attention, but i just cant see myself playing with them much. armadillos i can imagine myself having a farm of, especially if the scutes are passive instead of... once in a lifetime like turtles, which creates just. me killing turtles. same might happen for crabs tbh. id love to have crabs, because theyre a unique twist on the usual crab design, and they are silly and cute lil guys. if they win, ill be happy. itll also mean that a lot of mods wont need to have crabs necessarily or can more easily make beach crabs based on these ones but hey, armadillos r nice. maybe their scutes could even be a potion material! and maybe, maybe just maybe, wolf armor will make mojang realize just how squishy pets are, when they add it and realize that wolves will still die in like 2 hits. maybe pets in general could get more safety buffs, to make the wolf armor seem relevant, since mojang only really likes giving attention to areas of the game if theres something new theyre adding thats relevant to it. if we get crabs, why would they improve pets at all? also, i do want to name armadillos scrubbadingo, habanero, jalapeno, vine sauce.

Siblings with a Mountain Man/俺哥来自深山 drawings!

Fan art I did of this manhua I've been reading for the last couple of weeks! This manhua has been living rent free in my mind and I cannot stop thinking about these silly goofy lil characters <33

It's a comedy-centric manhua, but it has its serious moments and times where its sincerity really punches me in the gut <:)

I loove the dynamic between the main siblings, Li Mo and Dao Mo.

Dao Mo is a relatively impassive person and gives off a cool-looking vibe at first glance, but that impression shatters as shenanigans happen, with him adapting to urban life after having lived in the mountains for 10 years and embarrassing Li Mo along the way. And as comedy comics are, he tends to dispel moments that are too serious with humor (also maybe as a defense mechanism when he feels genuinely moved by something)

Li Mo is a springy girl whose normal life crumbled as soon "that guy" came into her life. She does a lot of things with earnestness and vigor. She contrasts her brother a lot, very obviously pointing towards the yin and yang principle, and they make for a very entertaining duo. Though, as much as they goof around with slapstick humor, Li Mo really underestimates just how much Dao Mo cares about her.

Dao Mo repeatedly puts himself in harm's way to protect Li Mo and does a lot to give her a normal life, like damn, the boy tries so hard and fails when she starts seeing spirits. Li Mo began to acknowledge him as her brother slowly, and she starts fighting back the danger surrounding her as the series progresses. At the climax, she makes a major decision that changed everything, all with the single thought of "I want to be like him, I want to FIGHT." and BOI, the feeling I FELT WHEN I READ THAT CHAPTER WAS CATHARTIC

It might be simple, but god damn I love it when series build a mutual respect for both sides of the party, when they both acknowledge that they would do anything to protect the other from danger AND I LOVE THAT AUGH

They made it clear that Li Mo can stand on almost equal ground to her brother, she can defend herself physically, but when it comes to spirits, she can't dispose of them easily like Dao Mo can with his taoism skills. Also sidenote I love how badass all the women are in this story, like (points at dorks) DAMN THEYRE SO COOL I WANNA BE LIKE THEM

LATER DOWN THE LINE, WE GET A BIT MORE BACKSTORY AND THAT MADE MY HEART HURT WITH HOW EARNEST IT WAS ;O; Seeing the ending of that arc filled me with a sense of completion, we see just how much the characters' relationship has developed compared to the start.

Though, as much as I enjoyed this manhua and have reread it at least 3 times in the last two weeks, I do have some things that dragged me down while reading it. I think I got "combat-fatigued" from all the fight scenes in the story. Like, maybe because it was my first time reading it and I just really wanted the plot to happen faster bc I wanted to know what happened next and I binged it in a day, but I just skimmed through it quickly and was quite bummed when a lot of the chapter numbers (nearly half iirc) was focused on the combat, and the big baddies getting bigger and bigger-

Next was the typos in the translation. I could ignore some of them bc my brain just, autocorrects the dialogue ig, but sometimes it kills my immersion in the story.

But still, all that aside I really enjoyed reading this manhua! And so I gave it my appreciation in the only way, besides screaming into some text, I know... Which is fanart!!
