not to send the billionth ask about hlvrv but are doc and g-man intentionally narrative foils. man who would do literally anything for his family VS man who believes having a family makes you weak. like. they ARE narrative foils but was it on purpose or a happy accident. also every day i thank you for making sleepless a forzen when i feel like anyone else would've made him a benrey for Frenrey. idk it adds a little pizazz that he's the singular forzen in hlvrv and not a benrey even if him being a benrey would probably change nothing plot-wise

YESSSS and i love it. the question of "was it intentional" is a little here and there because the more i look back at hlvrv the more i forget what i was thinking of in the moment and the more i only have my notes to go off. where episode 1 was kinda me going "UHHHHHHH" and panicking looking at the building blocks that ive laid out desperately trying to smash them together. doc definitely wasnt crafted with the idea that he would have this traitor narrative in mind, and certainly he wasnt created hand in hand with gvrv. his creation was me in the notes app going "uh i need two more gordons. what would be cool. A MAD SCIENTIST MAYBE?" and things kinda fell into place from there.

i think as the live askblog stuff went on i definitely did find my footing with that though, especially as i was going in with the looming shadow of like. onceler-au-ification behind me. i wanted the science teams to play a part in them for sure. and for that connection, that bond, to play a part, and i guess as the story went on doc and freemans fates got more and more intertwined, as doc has this sort of selfish love of her family where she will stop at NOTHING to save them, and the admins whose selfish love of freeman ends up trapping all the other gordons and dangling false hope in front of them, but as the story goes on, as the gordons make these choices to reach out to each other and fight for their happy ending, thats how you see doc and the admins' loves grow into something more deeper and mature. compared to gvrv who chose to love people only as tools

Calling cdramas based on danmei novels bromance is not really "stupid" or "homophobic" as much as it is intentionally racist, I think. Dramas like Word of Honor, Winter Begonia and the Untamed are overtly homosexual media in more than just subtext - the only thing the couples do not do is kiss and fuck but there is a wealth of both universal (tender moments, embracing, hand holding, living together, raising children, sexual innuendos) and culture specific (comparisons to historical couples, calling each other Zhiji/Zhiyin, cut sleeves) scenes - these are homosexual relationships realized in a way that can pass censorship. If you watch het cdramas and observe the way Chinese media frames couples youll see that its almost the exact same between het couples and gay couples sans kissing... but white western fans cant handle any affection that isnt made easily digestible to a viewer raised on steven universe and she-ra. You wouldnt know subtext if it smacked you in the face. Every time.a new danmei drama airs the tags are flooded with posts of 'THUS IS BAIT' or 'XD HELLO HOW DONT THEY SEE HOW GAY THIS IS' THEY DO..THEY DO.. I LOVE THIS TOO keito eventually warming up to madara is really cute , but im so enamored by the hyper aggressive version that comes with keitos feelings for madara going in the polar opposite direction. madara doesnt really like keito either but not even close to as much as keito hates him . they try to avoid each other but their social circles overlap too much (and theyre in the same class) so they dont intentionally hang out but their paths cross constantly. sometimes theyll be with mutual friends and then their friends have to leave and theyre left alone together so madara is like "im hungry im going to the cafe you can come if you want i guess" and for some reason keito does come along but doesnt really know why (maybe he subconsciously just wants to look at him some more) so theyre both sitting there like "how the hell did i get here what did i do to deserve this" . maybe some bystanders even think theyre on a date. like the universe keeps putting them in succession match type situations and theyre NOT happy about it . the irony and coincidence of it all is pure comedy to me. its like the red string of fate but turned upside down. the worlds horniest romantic comedy. its just, we all know keito has a type. he has a thing for delinquents with muscles that are a little bit scary . madara fits into that type perfectly, but hes also incredibly similar to rei personality wise. hes like if you combined kuro and rei and cranked everything up to 11. and then taking into account keitos relationships with kuro and rei.... suddenly everything he has going on with madara makes perfect sense.

Heres my thing. Yes having prices beneath your quality affects the overall market & Yes art is a luxury, but if someone wants to do a special deal by intentionally offering affordable commissions thats their right!! especially when their other work is priced more appropriately

as an artist, it sucks seeing tons of super skilled artists with dirt cheap prices bc it makes it that much harder to get work yourself. its harder to price your own work appropriately bc cheap prices draw in more customers But: ppl who genuinely enjoy your art will buy it bc they like it, not just cuz its cheap. its okay to not be affordable to everyone. if they like your art & have the money to spend on it, theyll buy it. & if they dont have the money right away, theres always a chance theyll come back when they do

in a perfect world everyones art would be priced accordingly & still be affordable to everyone who wanted it but that is simply not the case. some ppl want to be affordable for those who cant typically afford art, some just wanna pay their bills & dont care who can afford their work or not, everyone has a right to price their art as they see fit regardless of whether or not others see it as fair
