okay so we all know aziraphale DID want to kiss crowley. he wasn’t miserable because of kissing crowley, obviously. he’s in love with crowley. obviously.

BUT LIKE.

aziraphale is a romantic, we know this, yes? he believes in slow, quiet, pretty romances, and dancing at balls together, and romance novels, and love letters, and basically he just believes in love.

i can imagine him lying awake at night, planning out perfect dates, and imagining what the moment will be like when he finally musters up the courage to kiss crowley- maybe the sun will be setting, or it’ll be golden hour, because at golden hour crowley’s eyes always look breathtaking, and they’ll be alone, and maybe in a field of flowers…

and then. crowley finally kisses him, and it’s not at all how he expected. it’s not slow, quiet, or pretty, it’s angry, and petty, and there are tears in crowley’s eyes, and it’s a last resort. it’s crowley trying to show him what he’d be missing if he leaves, it’s crowley cornered and breaking glass in case of emergency, it’s crowley hurt and lovesick and reaching for aziraphale’s heart and hoping that the one time it really counts, he doesn’t miss.

#yes they set it up as though the true root cause was cuddy in the end #but I beg you to consider that 1) house agreed to seriously unpack his feelings of rejection re: wilson in relation to his exacerbated #drinking & the bar fight #and 2) the patient of the week deliberately evoked moments from house’s head/wilson’s heart #with particular emphasis on the brain surgery #which was the one time that wilson ever put house second to someone else #specifically a girlfriend #AKA the exact curveball that house has just been thrown for a second time (albeit in a less grave context)#nolan suggests that house punished the patient’s husband the way he’s punishing himself because they’re both losing someone they love #yes we could assume that his alcoholism was made worse by cuddy and lucas’s commitment #but also… house started drinking himself into blackouts when sam and wilson got together. not when cuddy and lucas got together #which reminds me — the last time that house sought out getting trashed at the bar #was when WILSON AND AMBER GOT TOGETHER. this is a pattern for him.#he goes out and destroys himself when wilson becomes seriously romantically involved. Another page from the Loop Being Emo In The Woods WIP! The aftermath of the little episode from the previous page I posted. This one’s finished, and I need to think long and hard abt whether this level of detail is like, sustainable for something 15 pages long 😅

This comic originated from wanting to see more straight up sifloop romance, with pining and sad eyes and angsty internal monologues and tropey romcom bits and a healthy mix of drama/comedy. I plotted out a couple funny little one page comics, then got into thinking about character motivations and emotional beats, and now we’re like, maybe 15 comics/scenes/chaoters plotted and storyboarded in this universe? But because I hate keeping things simple, every one of those fucking comics is between 6-15 pages long and dialogue heavy, and I’m getting mired in the characterization of it all (not even counting getting mired in the visual storytelling and the plot progression of it all! And not even getting started on the “still very new to digital art, how does one use procreate” of it all!) Soooo haha I’m in danger :3

If anyone wants to talk in dms or on discord abt this comic and the greater sifloop shipping trash story it’s part of, hit me up! Especially if you know your way around plotting out a story a lil bit. I don’t know how to start conversations online 🙈 but I like to think I bring a lot to the table talking meta, trading wips and other art that I can’t post here, making lil comics from discord bits, and exchanging help with plotting/storyboarding/dialogue/character interpretations.
