i feel like there is something very sinister going on with the hunting dogs.

the vice commander is twelve years old; she has been a soldier since a few months after she was born. why wouldn’t they get her out of the military so she could be a child? why was she put in a position of power instead of freed from her traumatic life?

tachihara is a teenager. we don’t know how long he’s been on the team but it’s likely been a decent while, meaning he was also quite young when he joined. why wouldn’t they try to rehabilitate him for his crimes before putting him into this job?

jouno was an crime ring executive; and we know that high up mafioso are punished with the death penalty. i speculate he was given the choice to be executed or to give his life to the hunting dogs.

and with this all in mind, they’re bound with their lives? they can’t leave unless they’re willing to rot to death due to their surgeries. it’s incredibly warped that the government would do this to these people, especially considering one of them is a child.

i see your post about leo being relieved that hes trans because he learned his stripes would go away and i raise you: leo, who spends his entire childhood in fear because donnie told him that he will lose his stripes when he is younger, only for them all to realize hes trans when they dont

Oh…Leo having so much value in his looks and especially his stripes because they’re what make him stand out the most, and in turn it helps solidify himself a role in the team as the “Face Man.” Sure, he absolutely thinks himself good looking with or without the stripes, but his stripes are striking and he knows it, and they mean more to him than just looks anyway. Knowing all this time that his stripes were going to fade and yet still taking on his title and still being as confident as he is - imagine he’d already come to the conclusion that his worth on the team, in his family, was always on a timer.

Then that timer goes away. And he’s left with relief and tells himself that hey, he’d have been just as cool looking without the stripes anyway! But…he’s glad to keep them. Even if his role isn’t quite just “Face Man” anymore, his stripes are a part of him.

And it’s been really scary to think that someday he’d look in the mirror and see a part of himself missing.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I love rain delays… like hell yeah broadcast that rain ASMR ambiance, show me little trucks and vans driving around the circuit. Blast those trackside songs in the background, distant and vaguely distorted like it’s one of those (but you’re in the bathroom at a party) youtube edits. Maybe the mechanics are indulging in a silly little card game or are making paper boats and racing them on the puddles and streams forming in the pitlane. 10/10 I’m highly entertained ☔️

the way sam changes from the beginning of s8 to the end of s8 makes me ill.

coming off their separation, he starts out trying his best to be unapologetic abt the choices he made when dean was gone. openly calling dean out when he makes him feel like shit (“you’ve been kicking me ever since you got back, but that’s over.”) insisting that he knows he wants a clean break and that it’s not actually his Responsibility to suffer for the rest of his life. refusing to let other hunters like martin talk down to him.

and then dean’s lies and hypocrisy abt benny, and dean’s fake SOS text from amelia, and sam breaking up with amelia bc with dean back in his life he doesn’t want to hurt her with his mess, and dean’s doubt over sam’s ability to complete the trials.

which all culminates in the state he’s in by the season finale - uncaring of whether he lives or dies bc he’s always been a burden to dean anyway and maybe if he’s the one to close the gates of hell it’ll make up for everything else he’s supposedly done wrong. “these trials, they’re purifying me.” / “you think I screw up everything I try - you think I need a chaperone, remember?”

the speech dean gives sam in the church Woefully misses the mark in that it doesn’t address any of the events that pushed sam to the ledge. it doesn’t address dean’s mistreatment of sam as a partner in the slightest. empty words that sound nice on the surface, like the majority of dean’s attempts at patching them back up from s4 onwards.
