Okay, so in season 4 episode 8, Janai starts talking about two of those twin-tailed inferno tooth tigers and the two she is talking about have the color palets of turquios and brown (Embertail), and gold and red (Aegis) (both seen in teaser images for season 7). And Janai says that "Embertail thinks Aegis is cute, but won't admit it yet" so in conclusion, not only will Sorvus be canon in season 7, but Corvus has thought Soren is cute for three seasons, but hasn't admitted it to himself yet.

redditors have the slightest amount of media comprehension challenge (impossible)
the amount of people who still cannot grasp that the Stranger is Gandalf truly baffles me. they have given us every visual and narrative clue possible and nerd ass fanboys are crying in the comments that heâs definitely a Blue Wizard because the actor has not yet turned directly to the camera and said: âI, Daniel Weyman, am playing the character of Gandalf in Amazonâs The Rings of Power.â
âbut it doesnât happen that way in the books!â they sob. No one cares!! it literally does not matter!!! this is the middle earth cinematic universe for godâs sake! itâs middle earth-616! itâs different from the books just like the PJ trilogy were different from the books!! go outside!!!
And then worse than that, they whine and cry about it being a âmystery boxâ or a âguessing gameâ - brother it canât be a mystery box because itâs not a mystery!!!!! they already told you who the character was in the first season!!! they expected you to have the two brain cells needed to figure it out from the obvious narrative clues!!!!
i know itâs my fault for being on reddit in the first place, but i am genuinely going to lose my mind!!!
#the sisyphean task of arguing in reddit comments#rings of power#the rings of power#trop season 2#trop spoilers#OPEN THE SCHOOLS#hey did you ever wonder why your english teachers made you write all those papers about symbolism and foreshadowing and narrative structure#this is why#daniel weyman#the stranger#and then someone complained that they were being too heavy handed about it#THEY HAVE TO!#also cannot begin to describe how much i hate the term mystery box#the characters are trying to figure something out!!!! thatâs called a plot!!!!

Rewatching Gumball is knowing that while there is no actual real overarching plot the episodes are still so amazingly interconnected.
I love how they do foreshadowing, how they build on little moments that we see through out other episodes. It's Banana joe's mom's future paintings being a small joke in "The Shell". Rob being in the deleted place with all the forgotten things in "The Void" after we see that Gumball and Darwin have a hard time remembering him and then completely forget him once Darwin kicks him into the sewers a whole season earlier in "The Pony". He then literally still has parts of the void ingrained in his design when he comes back. It's the fact that Penny and her family being hollow shells with something inside was being played as haunting jokes for episodes before the one based entirely around it. It's the fact that characters like Sarah have always been a little fourth wall breaky and so an episode like "The Fan Fiction" is so completely in line with her character that it's unremarkable in context, hell there's an episode where she sings the ending song to end the show and avoid an awkward conversation her being able to take some control of the show feels like the natural evolution of that.
The background characters in gumball have such distinct personalities that have been pretty consistent and built upon since season 2 which is completely insane and unprecedented for an episodic 2010 children's cartoon. The show might not have had an arc but it has always been continuous.
You do really get the sense that this is a world where everyone is very hyper-aware of the rules in which they operate. The show might reset at the end of the episode but the people don't
#and I say foreshadowing because some of this like rob was definitely thought out previously give the way the showrunners speak about it#also penny has so much personality she's not just a blank slate which is so unique for a main character's side character crush#Amazing world of gumball just does not get enough flowers for me#it is so funny and is such an example of meta humour done so right#some of the concepts of these episodes are so ground breaking to me no other cartoon was doing it like them.#like come on the void the episode where they change the voice actors the joy episode. the dream episode.#the season 2 finale where they have to pay for all the damage they caused through out the season.#nobody was actually doing it like them and nobody has done it since. never mind that the animation is just so insane and genuinely impressi#This refular show and adventure time were all on at the same time what an absolute era of cartoon television.#KC watches#the amazing world of gumball#amazing world of gumball#tawog#tawog rob#gumball watterson#darwin watterson#the wattersons#penny fitzgerald#banana joe#banana barbara#the amazing world of elmore#meta#cartoon#animation#2d animation#cartoon characters#cartoon network

no major fic updates just yet guys TAKE MY WOY OC I MADE LIKE. April of last year IM PLUGGING SOME INFO ABOUT THIS GUY IN THE TAGS.
I may also redesign her soon or something. Make her more bug-like with some stuff. I can cook guys let me cook !!!
#THIS IS VAL !!!! dubbed her as a he/she er..#I have lore about this guy and his homeplanet Amore and the Lovebugs..#all thatâs really important to know is that ive based the worldbuilding for Amore around svtfoeâs mewni#design wise mostly. Iâll emphasize.#in terms of the societal parts of Amore the kingdom kinda flourishes in the arts of all sorts and trade within the kingdom it goes crazayâŠ#they were pretty closed off from the rest of the galaxy though. like their tech and stuff is pretty outdated compared to most of the other-#planets with atleast escape ships and all that fun stuff.#foreshadowing#ANYHOW lovebugs are silly guys I think of them as like weird hedonistic freaks of sorts#they have very big dionysus worshipping energy to them just to give a perspective#and of course they prioritized relationships and the different forms of love#romance actually wasnât even the big thing that built the kingdom#it was more like a love for community and friends#which is also kinda silly because of the monarchy aspect to Amore and all that#OH ALSO these guys go absolutely crazy with fashion and makeup. gender isnât a major thing in the kingdom in my eyes#you WILL serve cunt!! /silly#WORLDBUILDING ASIDEEE Val was the prince to the kingdom and was set to be the heir to the throne#the designs are like three different route ideas ive had for Val#the first is just a baseline design so like. pre amoreâs destruction from dominator#the second is like a good ending design of sorts to my ideal lineup for a season three for woy with val continuing to embrace the lovebugs-#history and culture even with Amore gone and a good portion of her people#and the third. is a bit hard to describe because itâs more of an au but itâs just a concept idea I had of Val teaming up with Dom#(it would be short lived like probably a few months max so dw)#and silly note i joked about the idea of val being an ex to peepers BUT I WANNA DEVELOP THAT MORE BEFORE I SHARE.#tap into that this may be cringe but i am free mindset or something slash silly TEEHEE#BUT YEAH Valâs just a silly gal in my heart and soul no matter what. ive missed her a lot i wanna work on fics with him and especially to-#develop more stuff for Amore and the Lovebugs before Dominatorâs destruction of the planet#BUT YEAH i wanna Val post more. go into depth for their dynamic with the other characters and all that#I may cook some more stuff with him once I get these stargazing fics all set and whatnot SO WEâLL SEE!#also /nf but if anyone would wanna ask questions about val/amore/lovebugs ask away Iâd love to answer any questions! đ„ș

I do find it interesting that ATLA managed to use a very black and white narrative (stop Evil Empire) to tell several character stories with some nuance, while TDP claims it has a nuanced conflict and flattens everything to try and make up for that, ultimately leading to protagonist centred morality more than anything. And if they didnât want me to compare the two then they should have let go of the ATLA references right away.
you're right and you should say it.
the constant and shoehorned references to ATLA do not really do this show any favors. honestly might be part of the problem (why are there 7 primals with color-coded elves? to follow ATLA's pattern of marketable separable elements. why is it an adventure story with a core crew? because ATLA was like this too. etc etc.)
but anyway. yeah. ATLA had a very simple main conflict to provide a constant source of tension throughout the show (even if they dropped the ball at the last season re: the plot), and this structure allowed for episodes that explore other aspects of the setting and characters while still making everything feel relevant and tied together by said conflict. it's not some arthouse show by any means, but it has good compelling story work into it. genuinely great show.
tdp immediately opens up with the nuance and it never really delves deeper. you'd think that opening with characters being aware of the cycle of violence stuff would be interesting and the show would explore that more, but it just... flatlines there. there's no progression or graduation or exploration of themes as the seasons go on like in ATLA. very rarely are there new questions being asked or arcs that feel sensical.
honestly the main characters having to be perfect in every situation is the biggest problem with tdp. the mains are not allowed to have shortcomings or mistaken judgements or anything to meaningfully interact in any way with the nuanced set-up. they emotionally exist entirely outside it, which ends up making them the Messiahs of Peace Who Can Do No Wrong. good for fandoms i guess, people bitched and whined about bato and the water tribe for years. but it's not very good for storytelling.
and also, they're just bad characters and the writers can't put two and two together while still asking you to take their world very seriously.
anyways i'm just rambling at this point. good observation.
#tdp#tdp critical#for the tag filterers#ezran is legitimately a fucking awful character#callum is pointless and doesn't make sense within the larger world of the show#remember that <<path to darkness>> fear in season 4? no build-up#no exploration. nothing. just signposting for a Dark Arc because all the cool kids are doing it#like unless you were stupid it was clear that both viren and callum struggled with feelings of insecurity and wanting to be great#like really. no reason except extremely shitty foreshadowing and honestly a waste of screentime. like i'm sorry#but the fart jokes were unironically more characterful. claudia is emotionally immature#never got over her childhood. and her poopoofarty humor is a legitimate way of portraying that. viren realizes this. see i can be nice.#but like. for the mains? the human rayla joke may be funnier but does rayla's prejudice against humans ever play a role in her character?#oh no she's not allowed to be bigoted. neither are her parents. they have to be Good All Along.#and like the sad thing is the characterization of claudia like this is most likely not completely intentional.#devon giehl is like oh claudia likes terry because she thinks he's special in only a way *she* can see.#and not the more obvious nuanced explanation of claudia generally believing things about elves + dragons#but having the sense to realize that this doesn't mean every single individual is evil. but no she's just IRRATIONAL. ok then.#writers shut up and not ruin something that accidentally worked challenge level: impossible#asks#ask#anon#good ask honestly.#just rambling at this point

Something I sort of just realized that Iâm not really communicating in my arguments that Tech is alive and could come back in the next show is that Iâm not arguing that season three was supposed to be the end of the whole clone era, got screwed up, and that the creatives might decide to revisit the characters later. Iâm arguing that season three went the way it didâall setup, narrowing the focus to Omega, adding extra plot points late to facilitate that focus while not resolving any of the plot points that were already in play, leaving most of the character arcs unfinished, refusing to do anything to allow for processing or closure on Tech, a bittersweet (happiest the circumstances, which were bad, would allow) ending at best, closing up Hunter and Omegaâs relationship while leaving everything else, the family stuff included, up in the airâbecause another show had already been greenlit before season three went into production (early on in that production at the latest). Iâm arguing that the stuff that didnât get closure did so because all that stuff already had somewhere else to go. Think a sort of monkeyâs paw renewal situation where they get more seasons but those seasons are its own production and may come with a POV shift that justifies the split. TBB being an ESB, a great show with an ending thatâs only the end of a chapter rather than the end of a story, and not being able to fully stand on its own as a result, but intentionally so. Whether or not that was a good idea is another question, but thatâs the framework for my theorizing.
#like okay#genuinely I think that what happened#is that they wanted to do a longer story but got a three season show greenlit#they structured the story to be able to tie together in three seasons if necessary#but wanted that longer version#season one comes out and itâs a hit#they get that second part/longer version of the show greenlit at a time when season two would have been basically done#and season three scripts were getting started#they delay season two in order to add a couple bits here and there to make it really obvious Tech was coming back#on top of whatever foreshadowing was already there#move the Tech return and every bit of resolution connected to that#and the clone rebellion/resolution to the Rex stuff and everything connected to that#to that second show where theyâll have more time to really dig into it#without overshadowing Omega#add in Ventress and the force kids to lead into something with the path yes I am still on that#and leave all the build up leading to a Tech return and a clone rebellion in since it would pay off eventually#and then end the show without tying up anything except the Hunter and Omega stuff introduced in Cut and Run#because everything else is getting tied up elsewhere#I even suspect that if there is a clone rebellion show and weâre right that when decisions were made to do things this way#the idea was that that next thing wouldâve been announced by now#but there were strikes for six months and things got pushed back enough#that weâre sitting here wondering whatâs happening#theyâre working on something animated otherwise the entire department would have gotten laid off#and they wouldnât have been hiring a bit ago#juuussssst if they could tell us what#yes I know this is just me theorizing but I feel like itâs consistent#with a season that was stalling for time in its second half NOT rushing at all#and all of the âthis chaptersâ and âwhatâs nextâ#also to be clear âif this is what it is Iâm behind it as a writing choice#but the audience management and marketing is abysmal (which is frankly about what I expect

horror đ€ historical dramas, having the audience know right out the gate that something bad is coming and there's nothing that can be done to stop it or change it
#personal#guess who's rewatching the tudors season 2 ladies and gents!#this show was a fucking masterclass in the way it did its foreshadowing#it really does feel like waching horror at times#and i've said before but the anne downfall episode is so good at conveying dread in a way you don't really get outside of horror#but literally if you are adapting any historical event#you're able to do something a lot of other genres really can't#which is build up that hitchcockian style of suspense for almost your entire story#like for anyone following the cicero newsletter: remember when that letter came where he mentions octavian#and goes 'he is neither here nor there'#and we all instantly were able to clock that as 'oh no this is about to get all kinds of bad for you'#it's that same vibe that really only works with these two formats

Finished umbrella academy season 4. What the fuck
#there were... decent parts at the start? but it definitely felt like it should've had 10 episodes#and it didn't even really feel like the last couple tried to rush through tying up loose ends#it was just a bunch of stuff that didn't feel like it really... added anything at all#plus a couple short scenes hastily trying to explain away what's left#instead of uhh. using that time to actually tell the story..?#like a. certain relationship. i felt like it was being ship teased back in s3 but honestly WHY#why was this such a huge chunk of this season when it got reduced to SIX EPISODES#there was way too much screentime NOT dedicated to the main cast when the show didn't really do that in any other season#and the twist with who was doing all of this came out of fucking nowhere.#the justification makes sense but there was no foreshadowing and it was explained w no fanfare quietly in like 30 seconds#plus an unnecessarily long speech earlier that was just kinda hard to rewatch#i only started watching this show for the first time a few weeks ago and I'm so so sad that the final season was... this

#i just finished watching the atla live action#as an avatar fan#I thought it was a wonderful adaptation!#the original is still the best#but this live action was still great#(esp when compared to that... OTHER live action)#i only had two real complaints#1. i didn't like how Bumi's intro was handled#it would've been way better if they stuck to revealing him as Aang's friend AFTER the fight tbh#like they did in the original#they didn't take advantage of the foreshadowing#instead he was just kinda like âyep i'm your childhood friend Bumi btw you're an assholeâ right off the bat#2. it was too short đ#c'mon i binged that shit in two days#even though they were ~1hr long#8 episodes wasn't enough#bonus mini complaint: I needed more Momo and Appa#but all in all#i was very impressed with how much ground they were still able to cover in such a condensed format#the casting was A+++#the references were done very tastefully#the things they did change didn't detract from the show at all#and in some ways added to it#it made me just as emotional as the original#anyways... eagerly waiting for season 2#(it's happening... right??)#def excited to see my girl Toph#tragic clowning#avatar the last airbender#atla live action

i'm watching game of thrones for the first time -- read the books ages ago, just never watched the tv show -- and i've just finished the red wedding and like, you always kind of hope, oh maybe it will turn out better this time but no! it never does!
#it has been a lot of fun to see all of the foreshadowing leading to it#that's probably the wrong word but seeing all the clues! and they ignore them! aaaaa#anyway one thing i will say is that these early seasons do feel quite fast paced like they might have benefited from being twelve episodes#like they're tightly written but there's that faintest feeling of rush#which could be because i'm able to watch them a lot closer together than once a week#but knowing how it ends it feels like there were warning signs early on#game of thrones#got#red wedding

remember when they originally made this for lance to be bi and then they got soooo much justified backlash over gaybaiting when allurance started up that they turned shiro gay last second
because i sure do :)
was scrolling on tiktok and i was BLASTED with this official VLD art:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/b50884514328707460661b040c815aae/1bd2f7eb139aa1b1-ec/s540x810/ea53dc624fa6a428bcb90a8ef8b2d1294afe7802.jpg)
WHIPLASH. FUCKING WHIPLASH. and now i want ALL of you to be reminded of the WAVES this art caused. civilizations COLLAPSED
they donât make fandom like voltron anymore. they just donât. bakudeku ending still doesnât hold a candle to klance.
#like im not mad shiro is gay but actually i am#because there was NOTHING there.#NO foreshadowing at all#nothing that would suggest it beforehand#id argue very strongly there was plenty of evidence shiro and allura were origjnally intended to get together#9/10 words out of shiros mouth are 'allura!' or ']=>#'princess'#bro is always by alluras side#k now how many times was he by whatever the fuck that guys name was?#like six times#when he was intoruxed. last second in the second to last season#TELL ME SHIRO WAS ALWAYS MEANT TO BE GAY AND I WILL STAB YOU

The episode with the Djinn when Dean's at his father's grave, yelling, asking why does it have to be him?!
And the only answer is silence
#boy I die#it never ceases to be powerful to me#and like. Dean answers himself!#and there's a moment when we realize that all of this pressure and drive isn't coming from his Dad not really#it's from him because of course it is#because anyone would do the same#see once upon a time the show actually SAID something#and sometimes it was actually something pretty damn powerful#which sounds ridiculous to say about a show that also thought 'The French Mistake' was a good fucking idea#but damnit it's true#I will never forgive them for the stupid God betrayal plotline - it wrecked so much of the good of what they'd written#seasons and years of it retconned in an instant#supernatural#dean#dean winchester#season 2 episode 12#âwhat is and what should never beâ#I will say despite my hatred of it somehow the god betrayal ended up exceptionally foreshadowed somehow#which who knows how because lord knows they had no idea what they were doing#but like look at that episode title with the new context#ugh

Mel is alive, but at what cost
Mel was nearly killed TWICE, her mother began being a struggle, she'd been thrown aside and trying her best to stop her, her boyfriend is not doing well, neither is anyone else (can't blame them) and the fact that she hadn't cried or spoke much about this situation to anyone a single time?? She IS upset about every single thing, yet she stays strong and enduring every bit of torture. The most she did was tell Jayce that Ambessa put her palm on the table, and let him know that she is going to push for hextech. That's it, nothing remotely related to her feelings.
The fact that she was constantly looking at Caitlyn, being able to understand her grief and knew she was in pain?? Mel knows this feeling. She'd went through it.
And in the end SHE has to pay the price of her mothers incompetence.
The intro is very much foreshadowing, we know the hands represent black rose/LeBlanc.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a36ae2a79f3cb213944638e789d11418/fa1f4cec1607351a-3e/s540x810/f9fc5f5e767ddf555af38ce800f8c9277597942b.jpg)
This is what happens in act one, she gets kidnapped by them. The lyrics do correspond to the characters as well (not just Mel, everyone.)
"Tell you you're the greatest" plays as a petal of the black rose floats down the screen, I think it adds significance to the power this organization holds, possibly the Medardas greatest foe.
"But once you turn, they hate us" both Ambessa and Mel were present in this line, I think its foreshadowing for when Ambessa switches up for whatever reason and goes against both Piltover AND Zaun. And Mel WILL go through change as well, a change that could hurt her relationship with others, and receive interest from others too.
"They hate us" could be read individually too, I feel like its a sort of "realization" ?? Perhaps Ambessa WASN'T the one that switched up, maybe Piltover switched up on them, and maybe Mel JUST got out of wherever she's taken to, and saw the mess Ambessa had done to her city??
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c0748bd5cebce11213258292096a958d/fa1f4cec1607351a-91/s540x810/8ef62d65c1026124596e02c4131e191e3db1c0cf.jpg)
I think this represents ACT TWO.
The hands pull away and it sort of looks like Mel is fighting back, a "get away from me" type of scream. you know what this reminds me of??
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/092afe7894297e773513f2665f848d87/fa1f4cec1607351a-dd/s540x810/ae6f748c5ed4ec9330e8aab644be8caf122f2792.jpg)
Don't mind me just pushing my Jinx/powder-Mel parallel agenda
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/0028a5f83b400e1b5f9c0f65ad75050e/fa1f4cec1607351a-77/s540x810/12ece784bcd82aa33f36d6f3ca21e085d2fec53e.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/be9e34f08b6f69b970f2bbb50186063d/fa1f4cec1607351a-45/s540x810/7e43a0a2e243b08e5e7bf0713e18abd89742ab84.jpg)
Here is when i think Mel truly learns about LeBlanc/BR, she curiously and slowly goes to grab the rose, she learns about the history between her Mother and them, Kinos death, and most of all, learns about HERSELF. The lyrics speak otherwise.
"Pray away, I swear
I'll never be a saint, no way"
This feels like a parallel to caitlyn of sorts if that makes sense. Caitlyn had done everything to try and stop the council from attacking the Undercity, she kept her mouth shut when Jayce asked about Jinxs grenade, she was willing to protect Vi and the undercity, but how many times has she been tossed around? She'd been burned, exploded, kidnapped (god knows what happened during that time) and hit in the face by the same person, her MOTHER died because of the same person. She has every right to go insane. And she is hunting ONE person, which is Jinx. Although she is harming the people around her along the way.
What if Mel goes through a similar situation? Her mother pushed for war in her city, she dragged the enemy along with her even if she didn't mean to, she manipulated everyone around her INCLUDING Jayce, she LITERALLY got Mel hurt from the chembarons attack and killed so many people during a MEMORIAL to get her hextech weapons, Elora is most likely DEAD, not to mention whatever happened in the past between them. And the thing is, this will NEVER end throughout the entire season.
And what if she learns what she is? That she's 'blessed' by Kindred? The fact that the wolf is quite literally in her blood?
I feel like the "ill never be a saint, no way" also sort of indicates Mel will realize she'll never be able to push for peace and mercy like she always hoped for no matter what, and she comes to accept that as much as it hurts. But not like how ambessa accepted the wolf, but she sort of realizes she needs to push a little violence, towards nobody but the one and only, Ambessa "fine, if you want me to be like you, I guess I'll be like you towards YOU." Type of acceptance.
I think its also related to Mels new outfit too, she's dressed like her mother, in red and all of that. I will still stand by the idea that she has plans to decieve, but she will do something she doesn't want to do.
Mel was left with no choice, that lyric sounds like realization, acceptance, but also like a plea at the same time, an "I'll never be who I wanted to be" because in the end, she's still a Medarda, she's still her mothers daughter, she still has violence in her veins, she will never not suffer from the weight her name holds, and she will never escape it either, its like a shadow.
The Characters won't be themselves at their core this season. And those vital parts of their characters that represent them are no longer there in the intro, they all have given up what makes them, THEM design wise. (e.g.) Vi without her tattoo, Viktor hiding his identity with the mask. And the thing is, they did that to themselves because they do self-harm, they're changing themselves because THEY want to, they're forcing themselves to do that, they think they're undeserving and they're erasing their past selves.
But Mel? Mel doesn't have her gold accessories, Jewelry, or her Armor, she'd been stripped bare and hidden away because of the brutality of her name. She pays the price her mother brought to HER city. She's forced to change herself against her will, because nobody is giving her a chance to push for her ideals.
This entire theory never ends, and with all of this? I kinda do see Mel actually committing Matricide, it lifts the "Ambessa will die" theory further.
