Good day! Or night? It doesn’t matter, today we will have residents of Hades for analysis
Recently I found a person who posted all the (at that time) characters in full size. Why did I find this so late 🥲
However, let's get started
Some of the kings dress differently from their subordinates, but Levi decided to insert his own dress code. In Hades, strict clothing is accepted. With permission for some accessories, similar to the type of chains the King himself had. On the hand of the King of Envy you can see three sixes located in a circle. Honestly, at first I didn’t understand that this was the number of the devil. I thought it was some kind of symbol with deep meaning. But everything turned out to be simpler
Foraz and Valefor share the same clothing style. Apparently they occupy approximately or the same positions at work. The details that are interesting to me are several things: a noose on the neck, which speaks of devotion (applies to all the demons of Hades), different left boots, differing only in color and material (?) And of course capes with ropes on the sides. I don't think I particularly like Hades as a country, but the fashion there is great 😍
Foraz has distinctive details in his image: a chain on his horns and a tattoo on his cheek. What's also interesting is that he doesn't wear the chain because he's imitating Leviathan. More precisely, not only for this reason. According to Foraz, he just likes the look of the chain. And also his tattoo is his own artifact.
Barbados has a fur belt with his signature rose flower. The same pose is on his earring, and the artifact of this character is also a rose. Oh yes. And attacks too. He really loves roses. He even smells like roses. It seems he even eats them sometimes hahaha

Glasyalabolas, (Damn, I hope I didn't summon some creature while I was writing this) altogether a unique case. Judging by the medals and banners, he is a general, or any military figure. This can be judged by the carriages, a special braided rope with peculiar tassels, black and white ribbon and, in principle, more luxurious clothing. Fighters get paid a lot, especially in high positions.
I want to say that his artifact, the raccoon, does not suit him at all. He's a menacing killing machine. What, the hell, a stuffed raccoon??
The name Glasyalabolas is made into 2 words and one French article "La". As we know, people took many things from hell, and France is the embodiment of Abbados, the land of lust (We can judge this by the names of the demons from there). In that case, my question is, what did you forget in Hades? The vibe from this character suits the place though.

By the way, Hades itself represents the architecture of England, somewhere in the Victorian era. Absolute monarchy and complete submission are very similar to this country

A Style Motif for 2025

Since Harvey's collaborations with Christian Siriano began in 2023, his red carpet moments have tended to share features for each year, bringing daring innovations on men's suits to nearly every event.
That first year, it was elevated tuxedos with luxurious trains, shoulder bows, and cropped jackets.

In 2024, it was the incorporation of corsetry, mesh, and stunning embroidery.

For 2025, Harvey appears to be branching out and pushing the envelope with backless blazers--and new designer collaborations!
Recently Harvey attended the 33rd annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in a black suit with a twist: not only was the jacket a wrap-style closure with a plunging neckline, it was backless!

Photo by Maarten de Boer for People Magazine.
The wool suit is a custom design by Jonathan Marc Stein Atelier, according to Harvey's Instagram post. The back of the jacket features an elegant gold chain and the belt, with the majority of the back open to the air.
As I mentioned in my breakdown of formal suiting for the post on Guillermo's wedding suit, the single-breasted or wrap jacket style is normally paired with a shawl collar and reserved for elegant but casual at-home wear in classic suiting, such as smoking and lounging jackets.
In this case, however, Stein paired the wrap closure with the much more formal peaked lapels of a tuxedo, usually reserved for black tie or white tie events. The look is finished with a golden lapel chain and four gold buttons on the cuffs, another touch of extra formality. The combination is unexpected, with an overall effect that is sophisticated, sexy, and daring. It speaks subtly of the kind of person who both knows the "rules" of formalwear, and also feels secure enough to break them.

The look was finished with fingerwaves by Connie Agawin and makeup by Romie Macedo. The look was styled by Melvin Sanders, who previously styled Harvey for his appearances on The Drew Barrymore Show and The View earlier this year.
The Designer
Stein is a 29-year-old designer from Ohio whose mission statement includes creating "garments for everyone" that "mirror the diverse qualities of the individuals for which they are made." (Source)
This ties into Harvey's style ethos concepts of inclusivity and authentic self-expression (though it should be noted, Stein's ready-to-wear size guide only goes to a women's XXL--not the first time I've seen similar from a designer claiming to be for "everyone," but unfortunate nonetheless).
Inclusivity is a bit of a fraught concept for the luxury fashion space in general, but that's an essay for another time. It's great in any case to see another designer working with Harvey for his red carpet looks. Christian Siriano is wonderful and will always get props from me for being a trailblazer in this regard, but if he continued to be the only option for actors of size, that would signal little headway being made in breaking the stranglehold thinness and fatphobia have on the entertainment industry.
Speaking of Siriano
...this is the second backless look Harvey has served this year, with the first being the custom Siriano teal velvet suit worn to the designer's own New York Fashion Week show.

Are we in for more backless looks for Harvey on the red carpet in 2025? I hope so!
Notes on Construction
One small quibble I have with both this and the Siriano backless look is the tailoring of the jackets. I realize that any tailoring on something as structured as a suit jacket must be made vastly more difficult by having a good third of the garment's usual construction taken away, but that's no excuse for awkward fitting on a custom piece.
This could perhaps be forgiven for Stein, who has less than a decade of experience under his belt, if he didn't tout his family's history in tailoring and his own background in engineering specifically as selling points for his designs. And Christian Siriano has been working in fashion since the Bush administration! Harvey looks gorgeous regardless, of course, but it doesn't seem unfair to say that a garment custom made for him should fit him better.
That being said, the concept of the backless blazer is still a triumph, in my opinion, and I cannot wait to see what else Harvey has in store for the red carpet this year!

cc Donnie wearing the others' hoodies is so cute I need more of it
i think its partially a smell thing and also the fact that theyre pretty much all too big on him (although even his own are, at least at first). when he's not wearing his battle shells (and for cc!donnie, i think he alternates between really long periods of refusing to take it off and times where putting it on feels just as triggering) even some of mikey's hoodies will dwarf him because they're built for larger shells than what he has.
sometimes he cant bare to be around them but he needs them more than anything, so that's the way he handles it. on worse days it's the closest thing he can really get to a hug from them, even if he can be around them otherwise, and they're happy to provide where they can. they'll never hesitate to reach back when he reaches out first.
honestly, it might be a new behavior of his, because i couldnt actually see donnie doing it beforehand. mikey was definitely the hoodie thief of the family (leo strikes me as the type to steal clothes too, but less comfy clothing and more things he thinks are good stylistically. which mostly means he steals from donnie's wardrobe because he's got an actual sense of style and their sizes can be similar, for the clothes built for his battle shell lol), donnie could provide for himself and generally found his few hoodies comforting enough. they were always a little sterile and smelled exactly how he wanted them to. they'd probably go out of their way to get one of them if donnie needed it, so he'd have no reason to wear their clothes or anything.
but that's different now. it's a gesture of comfort from them that he needs more than anything, because he'd have never taken from them like that when they were cursed. he can look down and put the pieces back together when he cant think straight-- and more importantly, they smell like home and family, while his regular hoodies mostly just smell like laundry detergent and fabric softener lmfao.
#ask#canary continuity#i feel like saying its a smell thing feels weird but also softshells are at least theorized to have a keener nose than *dogs*#a lot of turtles do actually#im sure this would factor into their behavior a little. like donnie would find strong smells extremely overwhelming already#which might make the closet worse actually. oops!#but i also think it means it's a sense that contributes a lot to like. his life. actually it'd be cool to poke around with the idea of-#-it interacting with his autism. it could be a leading cause of migraines for him#also the smell of blood is like.... oppressive and overwhelming. from what ive heard in the aftermath of violent trauma#its a very common trigger. the stench of it. for donnie who's sense of smell is so much stronger im sure it'd be even worse#honestly a very good reason for the garden too. and it being like everywhere in the new lair#it being noticeably so different is a good thing to kinda snap him back to reality

albert wesker hcs pt.2 (re1-re5) (18+)
a/n; overall headcanons for whiskers himself! both nsfw and sfw, mostly nsfw. these are just my opinions and if they're ooc, i'm sorry. i'd like to say that im so down bad it's horrible and laughable. probably my longest post yet my computer is killing itself.
cw; nsfw content (i.e. kink talk, genitalia discussions and descriptions, mentions of dubcon and CNC, collaring mentions, cockwarming, impact play, light bondage, bdsm themes, dom/sub relationship)
˖⁺‧₊˚♡˚₊‧⁺˖ hex codes ˖⁺‧₊˚♡˚₊‧⁺˖
applies to all variants
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ - overall skintone is #F6E5DE
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ - his eyes are #adcfe6
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ - his cock starts with #f6e5de, fades to #F1D8CD. tip is #ffc8b5.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ - his hair (pubes included) is #F0E2B6
₊˚⊹♡size and habits ₊˚⊹♡
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ - he's 8" in length, definitely can't close your fingers around it. thick vein on the underside.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ - 6'2 in height, more lean than muscular. towers over most.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ - definitely well groomed. not very hairy in general, thus he doesn't have very much hair to groom. cuts his hair (in the bathroom by himself mind you) every month.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ - re1 eats as needed, the healthy 3 times a day, and plenty of water to stay on top of his game. re5 doesn't have the need to eat or drink. he's no longer 100% human and his appetite diminished within months of taking doses of Uroboros.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ - reads a lot when he's not working. non-fiction, science-based literature to expand his knowledge. his wits came naturally, sure, but that doesn't mean he can't maintain them. at home, when he's truly by himself, he doesn't wear his sunglasses. he has an actual prescription pair that's a similar style to his sunglasses, just without the tint.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ - his guilty pleasures are romance novels. the vampire kind, specifically. he finds them entertaining though he often makes fun of the cheesier ones. when he stumbles across the occasional good one, he rereads it over and over again until he's worn out the spine.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ - he drinks wine. not one for beer, truthfully, but will drink some here and there. whiskey is his second choice.
˙⟡♡⟡⋆˙kinks⋆˙⟡♡⟡⋆˙
୨୧ - (re1) at the beginning of your relationship, he'll only do something if you ask him to. he's never thought much about sexual exploration given his long, *long* history of solitude. he refuses to do anything that might injure you- knifeplay, gunplay, impact play (light or hard), etc. sure, he'll tie you up if you ask, he doesn't mind. he plays into your desires.
୨୧ - (re1) the more he researches, the more he finds he likes. he buys some ribbon to bind you with- the flimsy kind you can get out of quickly should you need to. he loves pink on you. he only binds your wrists together, nothing too intense. maybe he blindfolds you, uses a toy on you, or overstimulates you. consent checks regularly, as well. you use safewords should you need them.
୨୧ - (re5) fully established kinks. he's less human and less rational, but he knows to respect your boundaries. he leaves bite marks all over you and demands that you don't cover them up with makeup or clothing. he likes owning you. you're given a collar, of which you can put on or take off as you please, but during which you are fully submissive to him and whatever he wants you to do.
୨୧ - (re5) consensual nonconsensual (cnc) is his favorite. of course, you have to be wearing your collar for him to take advantage of you. safewords are a must for the both of you. he's never submissive, definitely a hard dom. he doesn't feel the need for knives or guns, but he does love impact play. loves shutting up your bratty mouth by slapping you and manhandling you. he's switched to handcuffs instead of ribbon if he deems them necessary.
୨୧ - (re5) since Uroboros has diminished his humanity by a good chunk, he's more animalistic towards you. aside from marking you up, he's obsessed with breeding. adores cumming inside you until you're leaking it. he knows you love it just as much as he does. at some point, it becomes routine. "such a slut. can't go a day without being fucked full of cum." he degrades you lightly, nothing that would genuinely hurt. simple things i.e slut, whore, toy, doll, dumb, stupid, etc.
༘⋆✿ favorite positions ༘⋆✿
๋࣭ ⭑ - (re1) he likes seeing your face. he loves watching your face twist and contort with the pleasure he gives you. adores being able to see all of you, all of what he does to you. eye contact drives him crazy. if you're blindfolded, he won't finish until you're done. he'll ask if he can take your blindfold off between kisses to your face.
๋࣭ ⭑ - missionary is a must. your first time with each other is missionary- the romantic first time you'd see in movies where he takes his time to make you feel valued. the lotus position is another one he likes if you're going to be on top. he's okay with you riding him too, if you really want, but he'd prefer to be the one in control.
๋࣭ ⭑ - if you both aren't feeling sex, he loves getting you off by having you sit on his face or using his fingers on you. he doesn't need anything in exchange either. he's found that he doesn't like receiving head, as he finds it to be degrading towards you, and that's the last thing he wants. but if you insist, he allows it. he mutters praises as you take him down to the base, swallowing around him in an attempt to not gag.
๋࣭ ⭑ - mutual masturbation is something he's weak for. he loves watching your hand try to fit around him as you stroke his cock so eagerly, his fingers buried in your weeping entrance.
๋࣭ ⭑ - (re5) he prefers less intimacy, not like how he used to. he thinks it's too human, something he's made quite clear that he's not anymore. he'll fuck you just about anywhere. he prefers doggy with his arm around your neck, keeping you in a chokehold. bonus points if you beg him to breed you in this position.
๋࣭ ⭑ - what he gets, he'll give. you give him head, something he's come to enjoy, he'll give you head with the same enthusiasm.
๋࣭ ⭑ - cockwarming is a must. prefers it while he's either reading or working at his desk. sometimes, he'll make you read to him and thrust up into you occasionally so you stumble over your words. when he gets impatient, he pins you down and fucks into you until he comes at least twice inside of you.
๋࣭ ⭑ - wearing your collar? he'll fuck you while you're cuddling. spooning is preferred, but whether you're sitting on his lap, lying on top of him, or him on top of you, he's putting his cock inside you. very rarely does he do slow and soft, but if you're both tired, he'll be careful with you. he loves sitting you in his lap, his forceful grip on your hips, and moving you like a ragdoll. superhuman strength pays off in situations like this. his fingertips leave bruises that make his cock twitch whenever he sees them.
˗ˋˏ ♡ ˎˊ˗ pet names ˗ˋˏ ♡ ˎˊ˗

𓆩♡𓆪 - (re5) calls you pet, dear, bunny, darling, slut, whore, dolly. praises and degrades you. (i.e. "what a good fucking whore, taking my cock so well. you were made for taking my cock, my personal whore. i'm going to ruin you for anyone else." )

what are your favourite designs for c!awesamdream (be it clothing, hair style, species or sth else?)
!!!! Squishes you. Hello friend<3
Sam is Puppycat you see. He's a creeptaur usually when I'm designing him. I actually made references a while back for different breeds of creeptaurs, because I very briefly went insane over the idea of making a whole host of lore and culture for creeper hybrids.
The main four types here are Chinese Mountain Cat, Lynx/Snow Leopard, Pallas, Tiger. Lynx/Snow Leopard is crossed here is because Lynx already came with a bobbed tail, so I used a snow leopard tail for the "long tailed" version.
Sam is a mix between the upper right and the lower left. Pallas/Lynx. He's got the Bigger Paws but he's Fluffier. He also has the bobtail. His mother was a longtail pallas and his father was a bobtail Lynx.
(This is a really old art reference so likely I'll go back and redo these with the added color palettes I have for different biomes. And likely add more cat types.)
Sam also has the ability to become bipedal with a special ring that a lot of hybrids purchase from Hypixel! You twist it left to assume a more human-shaped appearance, while twisting it right to assume your True Form. Not everything in the world is made to perfectly accommodate all shapes and sizes of hybrids (Foolish is like 20 ft tall) so the ring helps people who would like to be able to get through doorways without bonking their antlers or getting their wings caught.
(Punz has a similar ring and uses it to hide their bee features. While the ring was invented purely to be helpful to the general populace, it doesn't change the bigotry and xenophobia that still remains.)
Dream is a bit trickier. I usually picture him as a human when reading fics, but I don't always consider him to be Actually Human? I like to think of Admins as their own species, something that can often pass as human but is just A Little Off.
So he's a human-looking person with long, dark blonde hair that turns white-gold by the time prison happens. Its curly when its well taken care of; Dream does not take care of himself for a long time.
Sam's hair is short, dark green, and very fluffy, vs Dream's hair being silky. He's a head taller than Sam, but not as broad-shouldered as Sam. He has top scars, has gotten magical bottom surgery via XD,
He's absolutely covered in freckles, full-body, and they get fainter in the winter and darker in the summer. Sam has dark green spots under each eye. His skin is green, and fuzzy with fluff in certain places. Dream is missing a middle finger on his right hand and a pinkie finger on his left post-prison.
Depending on how I feel, sometimes I give him lava burn scarring that starts at his upper arm and creeps up to the left side of his face, around the upper jaw, ear, and forehead. Its usually very faint, a pinkish color.
Pre-prison he has a scar on the back of his hand from a manhunt where he cut it up on some rocks, and a slash across the nose from his duel with Techno.
Yellow and gold are big colors in Sam's wardrobe, followed by white/cream, brown, occasionally black, and hints of red. Dream's wardrobe is always primarily green and black, with ender eye blues and enderman purples. The only red he tends to wear is the friendship bracelet he has that represents Sapnap. And the blood of his enemies. Normal things like that.
Post-prison Dream eventually gets a netherite enchanted cane. It does about as much damage as a netherite shovel and when it hits someone it can set them on fire. Dream and Sapnap think its very funny to test on Sapnap (blazeborn and immune to fire damage.)
#suds asks#suds soapbox#my writing#I get to be insane and think about them and rotate them in my head#thank you for this gift

noir hcs
(these are hcs, not actual canon so these are things that are made up and NOT based off the comics)
hc him as 19 yrs old.
joined the spider society because he thought he maybe could do some good by helping others, only to regret it later. genuinely thinks Miguel is kinda a facist.
he also doesn’t regret joining the society because he got to spend time with Ham, Gwen, Peni, Hobie etc.
he and hobie bonded over similar views, became best friends for the last four ish months before Noir quit.
quit because he generally had a bad feeling about miguel, but got worse when he referred to robbie’s death as a canon event.( https://www.tumblr.com/lildoodlenoodle/720268522059612160/if-spider-noir-wasnt-kicked-off-the-elite-spider ) (based off of)
taught hobie how to pickpocket/steal things in different places/shops before he quit. especially shops in Noirs dimension where it was easier to put something in your pocket and leave without anybody noticing.
( https://www.tumblr.com/butevrythinggoesaway/719504366077345792/i-kind-of-headcanon-noir-as-having-kelptomania-so ) (inspired)
Miguel hates him, probably because Noir rivals him in size and also questions the way Miguel runs things around the spider society.
(Miguel is canonically 6’9 and i hc Noir as around 6’5)
Miguel once asked (very rudely) in front of hobie, if Noir only dated Hobie because he was similar to Robbie. You can only IMAGINE what Noir almost did (aka assassinate Miguel) before he was stopped by most spider people who are loyal to Miguel. Basically, Noir went even more crazy because of that since Miguel uses Robbie as a way to get to him.
Noir in fact didn’t want to date anyone because of some stuff that happened, but when he met Hobie and got to know him, he instantly fell in love.
Miguel simply hates Noir, but can’t fire him or kick him out for no reason so Miguel picks on him until he snaps.
he acts like Peni’s older brother, being protective of her. she became depressed after he quit the spider society because she really cared about him.
most likely smokes, Peni hates it and always takes his cigarette from him to put it out. has dumped water on him multiple times. Hobie also puts out Noirs cigarette when he sees him smoking.
humor is his coping mechanism, example (my interpretation of the scenes):
when miles said his uncle was the prowler, Noir responded with “this is a pretty hardcore origin story” which sounds like he’s trying to make the situation a bit lighter by joking a bit.
as well as when aunt may asked if they could fight doc ock outside, he replied with “We don’t pick the ballroom, we just dance”
another one: when he, peni and ham met gwen, miles and peter for the first time, peter asked noir how they got there and he answered with “it’s a long story” only to say right after “maybe not that long”
(I INTERPRET THIS AS HUMOR FIGHT ME)
Hobie paints Noirs nails from time to time because it seems to relax him.
used to wear glasses because he had such bad eyes but now that he sees better because of the whole spider thing, he wears them cuz they’re cool.
his favorite color is purple because of robbie. (angst obvi) ( https://www.tumblr.com/lildoodlenoodle/721163033344425984/me-watching-everyone-on-tumblrtiktok-say-spider )
(based off of)
his relationship with aunt may is so wholesome. she’s against him killing facists etc, but still loves him more than anything.
his style is absolutely IMMACULATE. ( https://www.tumblr.com/spiders-scare-me/723947203857694720/tried-to-find-references-for-30s-mens-fashion-and ) (based off my own post) ( https://www.tumblr.com/spiders-scare-me/723996134618628096/no-stfu-im-so-fucking-obsessed )

Coven Review
Now that it has been a few days since I read the new SGE graphic novel, I figured my thoughts are coherent enough to write an actual review! I should preface this by saying that I am a huge fan of the coven and these three characters are the reason why I’m still in the SGE fandom, soooo there might be a little bit of bias due to how starved I was for canon content.
My first impression of the graphic novel was favorable. Starting from a merely surface level perspective, it’s very appealing. The book itself has a cool cover design, and I enjoy the artwork a lot. I feel like it’s a good blend between a comic book style and a more stylized graphic novel style, which I liked (and I will definitely be doing some panel redraws once I have time).
Speaking of the art though, let’s discuss the designs of our main witches. Before now, we never really got much art of them at all, other than the horrendous portraits in the EverNever handbook (no offense to the handbook artist or anything, I just don’t like them). Anadil is PERFECT. I actually recently drew her in a similar outfit that she’s wearing in the graphic novel without even knowing that was her design. It just suits her so well! I’ll talk more about her later, but she is iconic in this, and her design is no exception. I was a bit on the fence about Hester’s design at first ngl. I think it’s mostly the shirt. It almost seems too… comfortable? Idk how to describe it, but I think I would change the shirt to a darker grey button up and make the tunic/sweatshirt a bit longer so it more resembles a cloak. That’s me being nitpicky though. I like that she cut her hair, as we see has changed from the photo of all of them, and I think that really suits her. I do have a couple issues with Dot’s design. I feel like she could’ve been drawn more consistently plus-sized throughout the novel. Maybe that’s too critical but idk. Her skin tone could’ve been a richer brown as well, it just seemed a little ashy to me. That’s just my opinion tho, and other than those two things I really like the design! The dress really suits her character, and her hair looks excellent!
I’ve honestly never really read SGE for the plot. Like the plot is fine (sometimes), but I feel like for the most part it’s more of a character driven series. I feel like I went into this graphic novel feeling the same. The plot was actually relatively interesting on its own to be honest. The disappearing faces and mysterious murders are exactly the type of mysteries I’d expect the coven to solve. The introduction of a magical substance, though similar to plots in other fantasy series, was compelling enough. However, I do feel like there was a bit too much exposition about the island that I didn’t care about at all. Granted, it could be partially because I was solely reading for the coven, but I also think some of it could have been consolidated. I also wish there was more coven backstory! Oh well, I guess that means my fanfic backstories can be canon in my head. Anyways, in terms of the writing in general, it was pretty typical of SGE, in a good way and a bad way.
The good part is the banter. The banter between the characters is one of the things I’ve always loved about SGE. It’s hilarious and usually done really well. I missed the coven banter, and the moment they all started talking to each other I immediately was reminded of previous scenes between the three of them. The bad part is what I can really only describe as audience disconnect. It’s kind of like Soman can’t decide if his books are middle grade or not. Like ik in the original series, there would be parts that are quite violent or have unintended implications, and then he would try to tie it together with some message about morality, friendship, family etc (book 2 is coming to mind with everything I just said). I feel like the main problem I had with the graphic novel was that after the murder and mystery, the attempt to spell out the #friendship message at the end came across like he just remembered he’s supposed to be writing for middle schoolers.
This phenomenon is also why I think he’s so hesitant writing explicitly LGBTQ characters. Which, Nico di Angelo and Will Solace? Sundew and Willow? Your witches can be official girlfriends in a middle grade book, don’t be a coward (half joking). I would discuss the past portrayal of queer characters in SGE, but this is already super long. Either way, given that past, I wasn’t really expecting much from Hester and Anadil, but there were actually quite a few moments between them that made me so happy. Especially Anadil catching Hester, bc that’s such a great callback to their whole thing in book 6! I also really liked how the dynamic between them kinda followed an arc that wasn’t finished at the end of the series. Bc it seemed like in book 6 Anadil was starting to be more assertive, both in coven decision making as a whole as well as in her dynamic with Hester, and it was nice to see that explored more.
And that brings me to arguably my favorite part of the graphic novel: the characterization! Starting with Anadil since I was just talking about her, I loved her characterization in this. In the past, I’ve seen people in the fandom say she doesn’t have a personality, to which my younger self literally wrote an entire essay to dispute 😭. The part of that lovely opinion piece that’s relevant here tho is that she does let herself be more emotional and opinionated around her coven and lets her personality shine through. One scene in the graphic novel that I thought really showcased that was when she got pissed that Hester called her “emotional.” And maybe I’m reading too much into that, but I think it makes sense that she’d get upset about getting called emotional when she prides herself, especially in the first three books, on being emotionless. It probably especially would hurt being accused of that by Hester when she’s one of the only people Anadil lets down her walls for. To close this off, because if I’m not stopped I could yap for hours about this, I like how in this novel, Anadil seems to have grown into becoming the reasonable, logical member of the coven, something that fits with her unfinished character arc in book 6. I think she is definitely needed with how impulsive both Hester and Dot can be at times.
And in regards to Hester and Dot, it was so satisfying to see lingering plot lines from the books finally be addressed and resolved. I talked about this in my other post as well, but I enjoyed Dot voicing how she felt like Anadil and Hester didn’t need her. It was clear that Dot had been struggling with that before, but along with a lot of the bullying she faced, it wasn’t addressed until now. And her covenmates telling her they needed her made be so happy. Despite it being a little bit of a regression, I’m glad Hester’s obsession with being the leader was also addressed. She really needed to learn to see her covenmates as equals in regard to skill and decision making, and I’m glad she finally did. Something I found interesting too was how much Hester dislikes being compared to her mother. One of the first things we learned about her character was that she doesn’t want to be like her mom, but in the sense that she wants to be a better, smarter witch. I’m curious how the reasoning has changed now that she’s not necessarily on the “evil side. Not really characterization, but I also loved seeing Dot use other foods and desserts besides chocolate in her spells. We knew she could do that because she turned things into veggies in AWWP, but that was never brought up again and it’s great to see she’s grown and expanded her power along with her confidence.
Overall, I enjoyed the graphic novel for its characterization/ character development, its fun character interactions, and its cool designs and artwork. It obviously has its flaws, but to me, flaws make the SGE fandom more fun (and any fandom, for the most part). I was very happy to see my favorite characters again after years of wondering if this project was really in the works, and I think it MAY inspire me to create some new fan works. This is way too long and I doubt anyone will read all of it, but I love these witches; I couldn’t help myself 😅

@lostxndbroken Aelric and Dark One Killian
Twenty years ago Killian Jones the dread pirate Captain Hook had killed the Dark One Rumplestiltskin. In that moment a shockwave of shadow magic erupted through the dark forest for miles, an elvan town outside the forest getting caught within this. The shadows clung to everything like a blite, an evil curse that killed many like a plague but there was one child that the shadows liked and latched onto him like a parasite being carried around. Killian was completely unaware of the effects of the burst of shadow magic outside the castle at the moment of killing Rumple for he had taken the brunt of it. There always had to be a Dark One in existence when they were killed, the killer would then become the new Dark One. Inheriting the magic and wisdom of all the Dark Ones pasts.
In these past two decades Killian had fallen into the role of the Dark One quite well, but in his own style of flair. He didn't wait to be summoned for deals or spending his days hiding in the castle in the dark forest like Rumple had. No, he spent much of his time in the large town of Baldur's Gate. People deeply feared the Dark One no matter who it was, though the devilishly handsome pirate was far more visually appealing than the crocodile-skinned warlock that the previous one had been. The Dark One would strut the street, doing as he pleased and going where he wanted. The crowds always parted for him and the terrified people would bow their heads and avoid direct eye contact, not wanting to be cursed with the shadows or simply stabbed with that wicked hook.
Each Dark One normally had their own dagger, one with runes and their name engraved on it. Killian used his power to shape it into a hook to wear. Of course with his magic he can have his left hand back any time he pleased now, but he had been Captain Hook for most of his life it was who he was and who he'd remain. Places he frequented often would address him as Captain in formal ways and Hook casually, they didn't have as much to fear from him as long as he was served and not disrespected. But the general population that did fear him always referred to him as the Dark One.
While in the market square this morning Killian stood at a jeweler's stall that was set up just in front of a gypsy styled carriage. He was picking up necklaces, draping them over his hook as he examined them closely. The Dark Ones loved gold and treasures similar to a dragon, the sight, the smell, the feel of gold, all of it. There was no one better that could spot fakes. A small deal he had made with the gypsy woman a year ago that he would make sure people didn't scam her with fakes and he could have his pick of his favorites, the three rings he wore on his right hand being some of those.
As he was inspecting the golden braided chain his shadows vibrated with excitement that made the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. His shadow magic was like their own living entity and it currently sensed something nearby, like a piece of itself nearby or that of an old friend. Killian lifted his gaze to look in the direction his shadows were itching to go and saw a half elf that had a similar aura to himself, but nowhere near as powerful. He chuckled and made a sweeping gesture with his hand. "Go say hello." He said like a parent letting their child run off to go play. His literal shadow on the ground suddenly became black ghostly cloud shaped mass about the size of a house cat floating just off the ground, the shadow darted over to the half elf with incredible speed to join his shadows that too rose off the ground. All now swirling together excitedly around the half elf's boots like a small storm of black mist.

Thinking about Lumen, he really is just an ordinary guy caught up in extraordinary situations. It's super easy to focus on that part of his character and leave the rest of it out, but...
(Putting this all under a read more so that it doesn't take up a lot of scroll space. Lumen Analysis below.)
Jordi Fontanarossa is technically a diaspora, but it almost seems like he feels like he doesn’t belong. He has almost no links to the rest of the Ægir beyond his species, what he has left of his parents (their notes, I'll get back to this later), and what little his uncle would tell him. Which is implied to be not a lot for his own safety, but... it doesn’t change the fact that while this feeling of separation definitely applies to all Ægir Islanders, of all the Iberian Ægirs we know, only Jordi seems to have a lot of obvious feelings about this.
"I mean, I know nothing about the Ægir" is one of his lines that stick to me a lot. Because... he's right, he admits it himself even; but somehow he's supposed to do something about the rift between Iberians and Ægir Islanders as the first Ægir Inquisitor-In-Training since forever, essentially? He isn't even suited to be an Inquisitor in the sense of fighting the Seaborn! His hands are made for tools and not for weapons, but he essentially got press-ganged into the Inquisition at the end of Stultifera Navis because... he knew too much. About the Seaborn, about what's really going on...
And this ordinary guy is now responsible for doing something about the rift between races? Like. I understand that you have to start from somewhere and that it works because Jordi is the mosy harmless guppy ever unless you get a Hand of Purification, but the man just lost his uncle and is grappling with the fact that the ocean is even more dangerous than he thought. Give the fishie a break.
Unfortunately, he isn't getting one, because that's not the kind of world Arknights is; and Jordi is a kind of person who can inspire change. In a small way, but even the smallest speck of light can shine bright enough to dispell the darkness.
In any case, let me continue with this scuffed Lumen analysis. Namely, his disconnect with Ægir as a civilization and culture. Because that line I highlighted about how he knows nothing about the Ægir? It means so much added with certain other things about Jordi.
Now, I can't claim to know every single detail, but when it's all said and done, it's pretty clear that Jordi is disconnected from his culture. Not only is he the only Ægir in Gran Faro, but... he was young enough that it seems like he barely recalls his parents. So he wouldn't necessarily remember too much about whatever culture the Ægir Islanders would have, beyond a few things:
One - the Ægir Civilization is one of the more advanced civilizations technology-wise on Terra.
Related to this, it's mentioned that Jordi's parents left him notes and things relared to engineering. It's said that he holds his tools awkwardly like he taught himself how to use them. It's also implied that he just genuinely taught himself how to do engineering since... well, who would teach him? Maybe his uncle, but for things related to the Golden Age of Iberia? It just doesn't seem likely with the general trauma the older generation of Iberia has due to the Great Silence.
Two - Have you noticed that the Operators related to Ægir the Civilization have a specific kind of fancy? Sure we only see the Abyssal Hunters and that's a small sample size, but I feel like it's enough to at least vaguely pin down a national "style" so to speak.
Relating this to Lumen, look at his normal outfit. It's not quite the same fancy aesthetics as the Abyssal Hunters, but... it's similar enough. Sure it also fits pretty well with the Inquisition, but that's not the point. The point is that it feels like Jordi is trying to keep the memory of something alive by wearing what he wears - it might just be the typical gacha design philosophy, but... if he has only faint memories of his parents, he might recall a particular outfit one of them wore and he's trying to stick to it - to feel that connection with them that he just barely has. Regarding his skin though? That's a pirate shirt. Well, it's probably actually a poet's shirt, but it's that one shirt either vampires, lesbians or pirate's wear; and while Jordi isn't a pirate, out of those three he's more likely to fit in that category. Admittedly this one is my biggest stretch and more headcanon than canon, but I connected some dots at least.
Third: His lines.
Just his lines in general okay. He wonders how the Ægir live under the ocean. He has a line talking about how he knows nothing about the Ægir. There's probably more but as much as I love him, I am not willing to go through the whole of Stultifera Navis just to find every single line. In any case, Jordi's has multiple lines mentioning his lack of information on the Ægir and his own disconnect from the culture he supposedly belongs to as one.
Fourth: His Interlude - Till The Light Shines Bright.
Jordi: Do people out there know the sea better? Jordi: Do they talk about the great lighthouse, about the legend of the Eye of Iberia? Local Messenger: Don't be silly, Jordi. The people don't really talk about the sea. As for the great lighthouse, that's a nursery tale that the people of Gran Faro tell their children. Jordi: ...I see. Jordi: Thank you for the offer, Rald. Jordi: But I can't go, not until I've seen the sea and the lighthouse. Local Messenger: Gran Faro has failed. The dream of Iberia's Golden Age ended decades ago. Jordi: Don't say that. Jordi: It's not just a dream for Iberia. It's also a dream for the Ægir... Jordi: ...For one Ægir.
These lines in his Interlude mean a lot. Actually, his whole Interlude reveals so much. For one thing, he is teaching himself how to do Ægir engineering. We have a very smart guppy on our hands here people. It... also reveals Jordi's fascination with the ocean and the fact that unlike say, Amaia, he isn't interested in pursuing that fascination of his over caring for others. It's just... poignant in a way I don't have words for, really.
All of those just... combine to say that Jordi Fontanarossa is someone who wants to know about the Ægir. He has the opportunity now, but... growing up? All he had was his parents' journals and what little stories his uncle would share.
Why I say "what little stories" in reference to his uncle? Well. I have some thoughts on Thiago and how his death affected Jordi. Especially taking into account a module that Jordi was referenced in: Indigo's module.
However, once they had both left, Lumen raised an alternative, 'small-minded' conjecture, more or less that before an old man sends his granddaughter off to the city, he stuffs the only valuable they own into her suitcase and hopes she'll never come back, or that he'll have passed by the time she does... or thereabouts.
'The elderly are like that. They like to decide everything for you while you're still clueless,' Lumen added.
His lines there are... well, they definitely reveal a lot about what he feels about Thiago now. Not quite bitter, but not quite positive? Thiago has definitely made decisions for Jordi before out of worry for his former wife's last remaining family.
I don't have a lot to say here, but like. I wish we got to explore this more. Jordi is a quiet and well-meaning person who has more negative feelings than he seems to have due to the focus on his ordinary guy-ness and self-depreciation.
TL;DR: So with all this said about his place as an Ægir disconnected from his history and culture, but still trying, and now forced to be a cultural bridge with no culture of his own... I think Jordi should get to go off a little. As a treat and so that we can explore his character more because I think the guppy should be around more.
And that's all.
If you have any thoughts on this, please feel free to reblog or comment. I need to talk about the fishie.

Day 6 Are there popular lolita things you tend to dislike for your own style?
Many…
Tea party shoes, usakumyas, pastels, sheer / chiffon blouses
With the shoes honestly I don’t like the look of most flats but I’m incredibly short 5’0” and have size 4.5 us feet… if I wear something like a flat Mary Jane or a tea party my feet look comically small and even verge on looking edited / unreal. Platforms are far more comfortable for me and I like the look far more so that works well.
Usakumyas and lyrical bunny are both plush bags that I’ve never liked the look of in the first place and then constantly see used in coords they don’t look good in…. I’ve personally never wanted one of either and probably won’t change that stance even though plush bags in general are my favorite. I’m a much bigger fan of frederick or even a unique off brand plush if you’re lucky enough to find one :D
Pastels are something I love on others and used to wear myself but I’m a much bigger fan of more bold colors and a more striking look. Some people aren’t washed out by pastels but personally I steer clear. Red is my favorite color in and out of lolita.
Chiffon and sheer blouses always look cheap to me even when they aren’t. I’m not really sure why but the look just isn’t for me in most cases. Maybe it was similar to usakumyas with the over use of them in coords they don’t match.

My uncle made me into a nerd
I just wasn't that academic I used to tell my mum - she disagreed - she thought I was just lazy. She was probably right.
I was 16 and leaving school and I didn't have any plans. So my mum announced that she'd spoken to my uncle, who had kindly offered to give me a job as the office junior at the firm he owned. As he lived and worked far away, it had been agreed that I would live with him.
The following Sunday I got the 2 hour train to my uncle's, where he met me at the station.
My uncle was quite a traditional man - he had a fully, neatly trimmed beard, fairly short coiffured hair, and generally wore tweed jackets and cardigans, and was seldom seen without a tie, and loved to smoke a pipe. He was a serious man, and definitely not one to have a joke - he could also have something of a short fuse, and could be a man of few words. Despite this, we had a good chat, and he seemed genuinely pleased that I was going to be working for him - he said that he felt I had great potential, and that he was sure I would do well - I just needed to follow his instruction and do my best.
I knew my uncle would want me to be fairly smart for the office, so I'd brought my old school trousers and shirts to wear in the week. I mentioned this to him, and he said we'd sort everything in the morning.
I settled into the spare room, which was a big, comfortable room with a double bed, chest of drawers, TV and big wardrobe which was currently half full of all sorts of stuff, such as an old computer, boxes of paperwork and some old clothes.
Monday morning came, and when I got out of the shower and there was a multi-packet of briefs and white vests on my bed. My uncle passed my room and said to put on the underwear and then he would be back - I explained I already had underwear that was fine to wear, but he said it made sense that I wore what he had got for me as it was new, and could I just do it please.
I did as he asked, to save starting off on the wrong foot, and then my uncle came in "Right, we'd better get you ready for your first day at work! Are you excited?" I assured him I was, and was ready to get stuck in. He said he had sorted some clothes for me to wear, but I reminded him that I had already brought some trousers and white shirts with me. "Oh no, you don't want to be wearing your school uniform! You're an adult now, so it's only right that you look the part. Now, I've looked out some clothes I don't use that will be perfect, given that we're a similar size - and you're welcome to keep them." I said I could buy anything that I needed, but he said that wasn't necessary, and I should save my money, and he was only too happy for me to make full use of these things that had just sat in his wardrobe. This was clearly an instruction rather than an offer.
I looked at what my uncle was wearing - a pair of bluey-grey wool trousers and a pale grey check shirt, with a dark grey tie with cream stripes through it - he always looked a very washed out, as he generally only wore shades of grey or bluey-grey, with only his brown shoes adding any colour, and everything always looked very old fashioned. I could only hope that the clothes he was offering had been rejected by him for being too casual or colourful.
He went over to the dresser and opened the top drawer and pulled out a pair of chocolate brown socks which he passed to me. I looked a bit confused. "Put them on" he said - I genuinely hadn't understood, as I could believe that anyone would think that a 16 year old boy would wear brown. I slipped the socks on, and he instructed me to pull them up. I did so. He then went to the wardrobe and pulled out a shirt that was very similar to his - a cream colour with a check running through it. I buttoned it up. It seemed very baggy and long in the body, but my uncle assured me that was the style. Next, he pulled out the most horrible pair of flannel trousers. They were a mid-brown colour, made with thick wool and tailored loosely - again, I said I'd just wear my own trousers, but this time he was clear "put them on." I grudgingly took the trousers from him. They were very rough texture and surprisingly heavy. I slipped them on and as I pulled them up my legs I could feel the coarse material rubbing against my leg. It felt horrible. I pulled them up and on buttoning them up I found they fitted my waist perfectly. The twin pleats meant there was extra fabric which then made for a wider trouser than the normally skinny jeans I'd normally wear. Sharp creases ran down the middle of each leg and then a turnup at the bottom gave extra weight which anchored the trousers which then hid part of my foot, due to being wider than I was used to.
I was then told to do up my top button. I did so but it was really tight! I was then passed a brown tie with beige stripes. I tied it and my uncle then clipped on a solid tie bar about a third of the way down which attached to the shirt - very similar to one he was wearing. "You'll always want to wear one of these as it stops your tie getting in the way"
"Now, shoes," he said digging into the bottom of the wardrobe. "I bought this pair but they were too big for me, so I bought another pair in the size smaller, so I'm thinking these will fit you perfectly. He then presented a pair of highly polished tan brogues. They were covered in intricate stitching and decorative small holes in the leather and with a row of very fine laces running up the middle. I recognised them. They were identical to the pair my uncle was wearing. I said something about hard leather not being good for my feet, but he assured me I would soon get used to them. He pushed them onto my feet and then tied the laces tightly. What between the collar cutting into my neck and now the shoes restricting my ancles, I was not feeling so good, and that was before the horror of the suggestion of having to wear this outfit out of the house!
My uncle had one last surprise up his sleeve, as he showed me a tweed blazer in a light tan colour, wide lapels, and a longer, boxy fit. it was again heavy and felt too big. My uncle did up the top button of the two on the front and declared it perfect. I was then shepherded downstairs to be paraded in front of my aunt, who declared me to look very handsome, and that the colours really suited me.
My uncle explained that he had tried wearing shades of brown for a short time, but he felt grey suited him better, so he relegated those clothes to the back of his wardrobe. I thought back to when I'd looked in the wardrobe and the various being brown, fawn, cream colours in the wardrobe - it now dawned on me that these weren't just random clothes that had been put there for storage....
There was a big mirror in the hallway, and I stopped to stare. I looked ridiculous. If you chopped my head off you'd think I was a middle-aged man (or older!) as no-one under 50 would wear any of these clothes, or in any of these colours. And this look definitely didn't suit me, and nor did it go with my lovely hair which flowed freely to just below my shoulders and with the gently tussled look that I had perfected after getting out of the shower. At least my hair was there to express my personality.
"Right, will we go then?" my uncle said. I nodded grudgingly. He opened the front door and gestured for me to walk in front of him to head to the car on the drive. I took one step 'clack.' And another 'clack.' I then walked closer to the car 'clack. clack. clack.' I lifted one of my feet and looked at the sole, fitted with metal plates. I then remembered you can also hear my uncle coming a mile off. I'm used to it now, but it always used to take me by surprise, as, on any hard surface you would hear his shoes clacking as he walked. People would look up and stare. Now this was me too. Though, to be honest people would stare anyway given what a 16 year old boy was wearing, but this would mean they'd get an audible alert.
We travelled in silence to the office. I was reflecting to the last half hour. It was really bad. the only saving grace was there was no-one I knew was there to see me.
We arrived. I got out the car. I took a couple of steps, still trying to get used to both the slippery soles of my shoes and the noise they made. My uncle strided off towards the door. I followed him into the office, both off us clattering down the polished wood floors in our polished brogue shoes. Everyone instinctively looked up. With that racket, who could blame them, and also I guess in heralded the arrival of the boss. Many pairs of eyeballs stared at me.
We reached the corner and he pointed to a desk as part of a group of 4 "this is yours, take a seat" now this is Sally, Daniel and Mark. And this is Alexander" I said hi to each of them. Sally was probably 60 and I knew to be my uncles secretary. Daniel was around my uncles age and I found out was office manager, while Mark was a graduate who had joined the firm the previous summer.
"Make yourself comfortable, and we'll talk through your induction shortly" I sat down, and Mark sat next to me did a bit of small talk, and we got onto the fact I'd just left school. "was it public school? by any chance?" Mark asked. I said no and asked why he'd said that. "Well, it's just based on your outfit, I can only imagine that someone from public school might have clobber like that!" I explained that my uncle had had a guiding hand in the outfit. "Ahh, that explains it - I'm surprised you got away with that hair in that case" I queried this "well he made me get my hair cut shorter because he said it looked too messy." I looked at Mark's hair it wasn't long but it just about reached the collar of the shirt he was wearing, and just above his eyebrows, brushed to the side. He looked a bit surfer-like. "I love my hair, so there's no way I'm cutting it" I said.
The morning went quite quickly. Everyone was friendly. I took my jacket off as soon as I could, as all the other men were just wearing open shirts, so I felt over dressed (as well as being downed in a sea of turd-coloured clothing).
It got to 12.30 and my uncle said "right, grab your jacket, we're going out." I grabbed it and clicked along behind him. He turned round "well put your jacket on then" which I did while trying to keep up with him as we headed to the car.
We parked up and headed to an open doorway, and I found myself in a barbershop. My uncle had a few words of greeting and then pointed to me "This is Alexander. He needs smartening up, as we discussed" I was told to take my jacket off and sit straight in the chair.
I said I just wanted a light trim, as I was being caped up, but the barber patted me on the shoulder and told me to just relax, as my uncle had already sorted everything.
My hair was about a maximum of about 10 inches long at the front, and maybe 4 or 5 inches at the back - it was all swept back in quite a loose, bohemian style that I loved. I really didn't want to loose that style.
Before I could say another word the barber had his clippers in his hand and with a comb he was pulling out my hair from the side of my head about an inch or so and then cutting off the remaining hair. Massive long stands of hair were falling to the ground. This was years' of growth. "I really want to keep the length on top" I blurted out. The barber just smiled vaguely. This combing and clipping continued round the back and to the other side of my head, so that the hair on the sides was now drastically shorter, though still a little bit shaggy, and just nestled on the top of my ears. It was already way shorter than I would like. He then started on the top though this time leaving maybe 3-4 inches of length. I was devastated. He then dragged the comb down my head causing a slight pain on my head, and leaving a very precise parting down the left side of my head, as he combed the hair carefully to each side.
This done, he now turned back to the sides and using his comb, he now angled it downwards and swiped more hair off the side of my head. This time about half an inch of hair fell, and I could soon see that he was leaving shorter hair of only about an eighth of an inch at the bottom and blending upwards to maybe half an inch higher up, and progressing round my head once more. He then took a smaller razor and went round my ears and then also cut a line across the top of my sideburns, and I could feel him carving a line across the back of my head.
On the side of the brand new part he then continued with clipper and comb taking the length of all of the hair to the part line progressively longer, but the maximum length still only being about three quarters of an inch. Then across the top of my head he did some snipping with the scissors but with only very small specks of hair flying off. He then went around the upper sides blending the shorter sides with the longer length. This was all looking very short.
Finally, he then brushed down the long hair at the front and cut across my forehead at a diagonal, leaving long hair by the part which hung just above my eyebrow and finishing near the top of my head on the right side of my face.
Suddenly the chair was tilted back and shaving foam slapped on my face. My little facial hair was quickly removed, and I could feel him shaving off my entire sideburns. On being returned upright, I could see that my face looked very pale following the removal of my attempts at facial hair - while the hair on my head made me look like some sort of preppy American Highschooler with the side part hanging loosely over my forehead. The barber took some gel in his hands and ran it through my hair working outwards from the part line. He then took the hair at the front of my head and flicked it upwards and to the side creating a small ridge.
"Done" he announced proudly. My uncle stood up "excellent, now Alexander looks like a man you'd be proud to walk beside. Excellent work."
The barber showed me the back, which was a short blocked taper, where less than an hour before had been my beautiful mane. My neck was so pale! I saw what was a very standard business man's haircut. I guess it's exactly what my uncle would choose. In fact, it was just a shorter version of his haircut really. We definitely had matching side partings now. It was too grim for words. But he was the boss.
Back at the office, I felt even more embarrassment and we both clacked through the office, and me - not just a vision in brown, but now with my short business man's haircut. On sitting down, Mark whistled "that's some haircut you got there. Thought there was no way you were cutting it?" "Well my uncle made me realise that shorter hair is easier to manage when you've got a job." Neither of us bought that - it was blatantly obvious from the style of what was on my head that only one person had had any input into my new conservative haircut, and my new outfit, and it wasn't me.
Back at the house, my aunt was thrilled with my cut, and said how I looked like my uncle when he was younger!
I took my jacket off and sat down. I undid my top button, and started untying my shoes as my uncle jumped in - "we don't take out ties or shoes off until we retire to bed", he admonished me. I grudgingly re-tied.
"Now, I've a treat for you - as a working man, you deserve a treat, and I'd like you to join me in a pipe." Now, he smoked regularly, but I had no interested - and in fact, I hated even the smell. I'd never smoked, and didn't want to. I politely declined.
He opened his drawer next to his seat and took out two pipes. One was newly boxed, he passed that one to me. I unwrapped it. He showed me how to roll tobacco and pack a pipe. He gave me a tobacco pouch, and lighter. Mine to keep he said. He then lit my pipe for me and put it in my mouth "now breath it" I tried not to breath in much, but even the little I did made me cough. "and again" I tried and coughed more. We continued this for about 20 minutes until the nicotine was making me feel faint. It certainly wasn't a treat.
By the end of week one I was hating it. The daily outfit remained identical, other than alternating between tweed blazers, shirts and ties, all in earthy shades. And he kept making me persevere with the pipe. I was coughing less but really didn't like it, and I now stank of tobacco.
I'd been getting on well with Mark - I think he felt sorry for me, and invited me out on Saturday with my mates. My uncle was happy to agree. I explained I'd like to wear my own clothes, but my uncle couldn't understand it - if you have good quality smart clothes available, why would you want to wear lesser clothes. And also all my old clothes had mysteriously disappeared. This wasn't a new work wardrobe. This was my only wardrobe.
Mark smirked when I entered the pub - "do you ever not dress like a grandad" he said.
We had a company away day which included some drinks afterwards. A couple of the guys said they were going for a cigarette, and my uncle said we'd join them. He got his pipe out and nodded to me. I shook my head, but he gave me THE look. I grudgingly got my pipe out. We lit up. Mark looked at me with disbelief. I could understand it. Here I was dressed in brown tweed, with the geekiest haircut and smoking a pipe. I was a lost cause.

Does anyone know where to find 3-4xl tradgoth fatshion? /nf
Sorry if this is the wrong blog to ask
Hi! This isn't the wrong blog to ask! I've separated this answer into parts to make this post easier to read.
Option 1: Independent Artists
I'm not super knowledgeable about where to buy fatshion myself. If I'm not simply buying from Torrid and hoping for the best, I'm probably buying from @mayakern. She's mainly known for her skirts, but she also sells shirts and I think is branching out to even more clothing types. These two skirts of hers may work for a goth aesthetic, and I think one is still available as a miniskirt as well.
A similar store is @freshhotflavors. They have an online store here along with their Tumblr. I haven't personally bought from them, but they work with Maya Kern. I've bought many a skirt from Maya Kern over the years and know her dedication to quality. She also has been very understanding with me about exchanging one of her skirts I accidentally got double of for christmas. So the fact that she works with Fresh Hot Flavors encourages me to trust FHF as well. I believe they sell some of her skirts in maxi length, but they sell a variety of other stuff too!
An artist that FHF works with who seems to make a lot of goth clothing is @vetiverfox. This is their website. I haven't bought from this artist either, but their skirts seem to be similar to Maya Kern's with the sizing, elastic waistband, and type of fabric used. So if their clothes are anything like Maya Kern's, I would give them a shot. Each of these three artists sell skirts that go up to a 6XL (though I think Maya has mentioned having some skirts that go up to 8XL too). I've only been talking about skirts, but each of these artists sells more than that.
Option 2: User Suggestions
I'm hoping our followers may have some advice for you about where to buy goth fatshion. @fine-ass-fatshion has knowledge about fatshion for sure. We've also recently reblogged some great goth fatshion from @wisteriaawillow, so I would definitely suggest asking them for advice on where to buy goth fatshion too. @iridessence wears a lot of pretty fatshion on her main blog, but her side blog @luxus-aeterna would be more your style. I don't know if the clothes she wears on that blog are technically goth or simply make me think of gothic clothing due to being historical clothing with generally darker fabrics, but look at her side blog just in case. I believe her FAQ mentions that she gives detailed information about how to find the clothes she wears if you donate to her work.
Option 3: Tailoring and Getting Creative
A lot of fat people have to resort to sewing and making their own clothes, but this can include taking stuff and simply making adjustments to them. For example, dyeing a shirt a more goth color, taking dollar store trinkets and making them into jewelry, etc. You can even do some clothing adjustments without needing to know how to sew! That's how I used to make my cosplays. People have suggested before to not discard the idea of going to a tailor either. If you happen to find some clothing you like but doesn't fit you, a tailor can help.
Option 4: Etsy and Commissions
Websites like Etsy sometimes can be a goldmine for specific aesthetics. However, Etsy tends to be expensive due to shipping and/or items being handmade by artists. I also hate that a lot of artists on Etsy charge fat people more money for the same product. Additionally, Etsy is probably a better store for accessories rather than your main outfit.
If you're willing to pay for the quality of handmade clothing fitted specifically for your body type and measurements, I've honestly considered the idea myself of commissioning cosplay artists for clothing, which can be done through Etsy or by meeting cosplay artists at anime conventions. If you go to a local anime convention and meet an artist there, you may even find an artist so local that you can try on the clothes during the process of making them so that you know they definitely will fit you at the end. I've thought about this usually regarding cosplay, but a cosplayer who does commissions would probably be able to make clothing that isn't for cosplaying a character as long as you gave them references.
Option 5: Online Stores and Our Pinned Post
Lastly, our pinned post has a link to our FAQ Google Doc, and that Google Doc includes links to online stores that sell plus size clothing. And here is a link to a post we shared about a month ago that has resources for buying jfashion. A lot of of the photos on the post include fatshion that could be useful for a goth aesthetic, though I say that without much knowledge about goth clothing.
I hope one of these suggestions will be of help to you!! Have a good day! cx

Hey I don’t know if this is really a big issue among trans guys but I constantly find myself questioning my identity due to the fact I can’t find any clothing or looks on men that I like. This with the fact I’m a poc makes it like weird to look for clothing styles I enjoy. Like I keep going “am I really a man if I prefer feminine clothing? Am I just lying? Should I stay feminine?” So long story short I was wondering if theirs any like styles that look good really on men or tips for when your not feeling masculine? Or just tips on feeling more masculine pre transition in general?
Thank you for your ask, anon.
I myself am pre-transition, medically speaking. I don't necessarily do much in the means of "passing" for reasons I don't feel the need to share. My opinion may not be as valid to some of you because of this, but I'll share things that my male friends do that I've observed.
My major piece of advice in terms of clothing is don't go rushing to the men's section of a store and pick up all the large, body-covering garments you can find. Playing to your body type is important, and you should probably aim to go for a size down of what you initially assume you want in men's sizes.
Brands I usually go for are general sports brands like Nike, Adidas, Reebok etc, as well as second-hand SuperDry and H&M. (Also, if you buy something and it's too big, throw it in the wash and dryer several times.)
Dark tones are traditionally masculine as well if you want to stay safe, however there are a lot of men who wear light tones, it just depends on the style.
Layering also works in my case, but it's only helpful in winter. I find when I wear a coat over a hoodie over a t-shirt, I tend to pass a lot better. (Puffer jackets are really good for emulating this, especially North Face or similar dupes.)
Also, if you wear glasses, order some more boxy-looking prescription glasses with darker or more muted frames. These generally appear more masculine at first glance, but you can ask an optician or your friend for an opinion of what looks more masc on your face. Spend a lot of tine on this, because you obviously wear your glasses more often than certain outfits.
I'd also say that it depends on the "type" of guy you're looking to present as. I have a lanky build with longer legs, so I wear straight-legged jeans to only discreetly hide curves.
Overall, it just takes a bit of experimentation. This post may not be that helpful to everyone, because I'm using my own life as an anecdote, so I apologise in advance. There is no right way to pass, and a few people warp the meaning of passing to looking more western-centric, however I've learned that this is poor advice.
As for feeling more masculine, you could:
Buy male deodorant, shower gel or aftershave and shave with a razor marketed towards men
Buy male underwear and pajamas
Try skin-tone coloured transtape (if you can find it, it's a horror to find dark brown trans tape)
Work out every day (don't rush into this, and consistency is key)
Experiment with masculine hairstyles.
If any of you would like a separate post with specific resources for any of these, or my own personal recommendations for products and clothing, I'd be happy to share.
Sidenote: passing ≠ feeling masculine. You're doing this for yourself, not for others.

I recently came out to my parents as a trans man and long story short it didn't go well and my Dad still won't talk to me.
I know this isn't what you normally do, but could you write a story about Terzo comforting the reader after a bad coming out in a fatherly (platonic/non sexual of course) way? If not that's chill too
-🧭
(platonic) terzo/ ftm reader
of course, anon🤍 there’s a message for you and anyone else who wants to hear it at the end of this.
┌── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──┐
-when terzo knocks on your door and hears a weary “one second”, the brightness absent in your voice, he immediately knows something is wrong.
-after wiping your tears, you walk to the door and open it.
-what’s wrong?” he asks when he sees your eyes are puffy and red.
-“i… i came out to my parents and it didn’t go well.”
-his heart sinks at what you just told him.
-“and now my dad won’t talk to me.” you sniffle.
-he’s upset, not just upset, angry. he’s confused, how someone could treat their own child, one as treasured as you, with such bigotry.
-“oh no, mio caro… come here.” he says, pulling you in for a hug. “mi dispiace. i’m so sorry.” he whispers as he holds you tightly.
-“it will be okay, piccolo. your papa is always on your side. not only me. the entire clergy is on your side. beyond that, anyone with morals and love in their heart.”
-he wipes the tears from your eyes and gently tilts your head up to meet his gaze.
-“hear what i am saying. you are a smart, caring, talented, and very special young man. your future is molto luminoso. so bright. keep your head up.”
-you nod.
-“anyone would be lucky to have you as their son. getting to see your smile every day, your handsome face.”
-you can’t help but smile at his kind words.
-“there we go. molto meglio.” he says once he sees the smile he loves so much, ruffling your hair as you laugh.
-“thank you, papa. i don’t deserve you.”
-“your papa is always here for you. that is why i am here, it is my job. not just in the church, but as someone who cares. i want to help you. you help me all the time, it is the least i can do.”
-“thank you papa.”
-“of course.”
-terzo is always there when you need to talk, whether it’s about your situation or something lighthearted.
- after a conversation with your family gone wrong, he is always willing to listen, lend a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on.
-he’s also generally so sweet to you regarding your transition in general. if you try out something new with your clothing or appearance, he’s always the first to compliment you. he’s so funny about it too.
-maybe you cut your hair, or simply style it different way. he stops you when he runs into you.
-“ay, look at you!”
-before you can say anything else, he’s spinning you around to get a 360 of your hair.
-“very very nice.”
-or when you wear a new outfit, maybe a new suit, something a little more formal.
-“i could use some fashion advice from you. i am old, not up to the trends.”
-if you guys are similar sizes, he will let you wear his clothes 🥺🥺🥺
-“this one is old… maybe not up to date- but… i guess vintage is cool, no?” he says, holding up a dark purple suit.
-“i love it. and vintage is cool.”
-“you can keep it, then.”
-“really?”
-“si.”
-he tells you stories of what happened in the particular outfit he’s showing you. it’s nearly always something outlandish and hilarious.
-“please, be smarter than your papa. but have fun.”
-terzo has the sweetest most accepting heart. i firmly believe this. not just for the sake of fanfiction but genuinely.

anon 🧭🤍
this is another request i can’t ignore or stall on.
i am so sorry you had that experience. i myself am not trans but i know these things are so difficult. i’m so sorry your dad isn’t talking to you. i wish i could reach through the screen and give you a hug.
i watched this exact thing happen with my trans brother a few years ago. my dad is incredibly conservative and transphobic. it put a huge strain on his relationship with my brother after he came out. he refused to call my brother by his name and pronouns.
my dad still doesn’t support the transgender community. but he does support his son now. after a long time, my dad finally came around. he’s not a perfect person, has a long way to go, but he came around.
i guess what i’m trying to say by sharing that is that this isn’t the end.
but whatever you choose, to remain in contact or not, i want you to know that you are in control. this is your future and your identity, and you deserve to feel secure in who you are and who you are surrounded by.
you are so valid and real and i love you.

Just wanted to draw these two besties hanging out, then decided to do a clothes swap, while keeping their slightly different body types in mind. Or trying anyway. I'm not the greatest at keeping things like this consistent still.....
Basically, since Ava is taller/has wider hips, Yume's dress is shorter on her and generally fits lightly differently. (stops above knees, for Yume it goes below her knees, On Yume it flares out more as her hips fill it less and allow the dress hem to keep the A-line shape better)
In turn, since Yume is more petite, Ava's pants are too big for her, though the top fits just fine as their cup-size is similar. (Ava also has larger shoe size, so those shoes she's wearing are actually just larger size copies of Yume's own shoes)
These two also have different taste in clothes in general: Yume is more girly feminine/retro/cutesy cottagecore type, Ava's style in turn is witchy/punk/grunge, with some sporty vibes occasionally mixed in.
