I loved you and i loved your blog but is it not strange to be so invested in a groups boycott when you have never watched any content of them? I’m struggling to wrap my head around the fact you had a writing blog for RIIZE despite never watching any of their content. im standing up for a boycott because i stand up for things that are right, mind you theres tons of non briize who are standing up for the boycott as well. i did my part by not following them on social media and not streaming their music because its that easy. if someone told me to boycott nct, or ateez, (my #1 ult groups that i do watch content for just a little bit more than others) id be like damn that sucks but id still boycott. which ive had to do before btw!! nctzens boycotted to get mark back in dream a couple years ago!! and even outside of kpop, plenty of boycotts for things i dont even like but id still advocate for it cuz its the right thing to do.

I have returned! Being summoned by Viv proving my point last time by making even more merch! (seriously though- you should NOT put that kind of stuff on offical merch, even as a little 'funny haha' moment. suicide isn't a joke to be profited off of.)

Anywho- I have seen the newest episode (a friend likes to laugh at it and I like to psychoanalyze fictional characters) and it's great to see feminine characters being built properly, but (as another person said earlier) it took a good majority of the fandom bullying Viv to finally get it canonically done. And yet? It still felt half assed.

By half-assed I mean it in the sense of: "Oh cool, this character has a deeper level to them! Great! Are we gonna see more of that?" "Nah." "Oh. Well...okay...?"

Because of how Viv does things with Helluva, it's almost a for sure thing that we will never see Verosika actually get built properly- only having her show up whenever it's convenient for plot. Which is understandable, balancing a full character cast is hard- but it sucks, because she's an important character that's tied to the past of one of the main characters. What makes me so sure about it is that Viv does the same thing for our main cast too!

A good example of what I mean is:

The episode that was supposed to be Millie centered. We have NEVER touched on her need for validation before or even after that episode. So- based from what we've seen so far, it's HIGHLY likely we won't ever see the Verosika layers ever again.

Another example is Loona's episode, where she goes to a party with Vortex and meets Bee. We get a tiny glimpse into her true character, but then it's never touched on again.

Pardon my rambles, but I shall return at some point- this space feels safe to talk about this kinda stuff. Might as well tag myself as the 💫 anon (if permitted and not taken, of course). ^^

You know, this actually makes me laugh a bit because you’re correct that Verosika should get more time to show her character ESPECIALLY when HB has done this with another pivotal character from Blitzø’s past — Fizarolli. Your ask just makes the blatant favoritism even more apparent because we legit went off the rails of IMP and even Stolitz a bit for the sake of getting into Fizz’s psyche for a couple episodes and his relationship with Asmodeus as well as his abusive relationship with Mammon but I highly, highly doubt Vivzie would do the same for Verosika when she can’t even do it for Millie or Loona who are part of the main cast.

Someone else pointed out that her development is also still centered on Blitzø in a big way and I’m sure. I can’t pretend I’m not aware that Verosika showing layers and possibly forgiving Blitzø is for his sake or for the sake of Stolitz. It’s very apparent and very disappointing.

Especially in the US, politicians are being pressured by their own staffers, who see emails and calls and petitions come in, to stop being so vocally pro-Israel. Major news outlets such as the BBC, The LA Times, and The New York Times are publishing pro-Palestine articles and airing segments dissecting Israeli lies. Starbucks is literally begging for your money, doing sales they've never done before as their workers resign and go on strike. Things are changing. Yes, they aren't changing fast, and there's probably a long way to go, but change takes a lot of time and things are slowly shifting in our favor. Keep going to protests, keep boycotting, and keep speaking out.

And vote! (This is for the US in particular.) I'm seeing a lot of sentiment promoting voting third part en masse or not voting at all, and I can tell you right now that is a surefire way to get people even worse than we already have now into office. Getting third party representatives, especially on state and local levels may work, but I can tell you right now that the amount of zealous Republicans and ignorant Democrats far outnumbers anyone voting third party in 2024. Yes, Biden sucks ass and I wish I could knock some sense into him myself, but Trump is violently Islamophobic and has explicitly stated plans for turning the US into a dictatorship. Lesser of two evils sucks, but it's kind of our only option when the electoral college is in place. At least Biden might back out (and has already halfheartedly started turning) when this is no longer profitable for him. Trump will keep going out of sheer hatred and ego.

As much as it doesn't seem like it, you are never without power. What matters right now is consistent and unrelenting pressure against those in power. No matter what, don't stop talking, don't stop protesting, and don't give up.

I've seen this one person who, on account of knowing a fair bit of Japanese, has actually seen old-timey serial toku from the late 50's-early 60's like Gekko Kamen, & not only always praises them, but holds more conventional showa toku like Rider & Zubat against them! & I think that's genuinely really fascinating & thought provoking! i think it's good enough to just find enjoyment in the things that you find enjoyment in! unless you're looking to do serious (i.e. academic style) analysis i'm anti-completionist and think everyone should simply leave if they're not enjoying something. doesn't matter how late in the game. i'll watch a whole show and not the final episode if it sucks. i watched bojack horseman thrice but there's one episode i simply won't watch because i started it and hated it. i just watched as much of the show as i cared to and enjoyed it! and in that same vein if you aren't able to access a part of a series/genre/what have you due to time/language/cost/bald/other constraints in my Humble Onion you can just take the enjoyment out of the parts you're able to access. no use dreaming about the things that could be when you have perfectly good shows right there!

There's a few things I want to say about the game. But I want to let everyone know right now that that I am not a supporter of the game, nor am I condoning those who valued entertainment over lives.

JKR is still actively getting money from anything with the Harry Potter IP. The whole "separate art from artist" thing? Yeah, it really only works when she's not getting shit from it. So people need to stop comparing her to HP Lovecraft. Lovecraft is fucking DEAD, no longer having any influence or monetary powers from his works to hurt marginalized people. JKR is not the same

2. The whole point of boycotting is for "allies" to really put their money where their mouth is. The TERF is a billionaire living in a castle and hanging out with other racist ass people, do people really think the whole point is to bankrupt her? No, it's about solidarity. And these so called "allies" can't even boycott a 60 dollars game, how can anyone trust them to actually pull through when they need to pull through?

3. In regards to the whole "ya'll make streamers cry" things I'm not condoning harassment. It sucks hard, and no one should ever be led to tears on a live recording in front of their fans. However, when trans people said they're disappointed that you're valuing entertainment before them, you don't get to fucking cry. That's not dogpilling or bullying, that's the consequences of valuing cheap entertainment over lives. People have DIED because of hate that JKR spreads, and though horrible, I really need those streamers to see that the whole criticisms they've received (excluding actual death threats and bullying) are a fraction of what trans people go through just for existing. Grow thicker skin.

4. Aside from the whole TERF shit, the game was made BY bigots. The goblins, S*rona R*an, even the books were written with biases (Cho Chang, Rita Skeeter, etc). Nothing coming out from this isn't bigoted. It's built from the early stages and no one in the development process even stepped up and change it. They've capitalized on it.

5. Queer people? Yeah, listen. The people you've given permission to play this game? Don't expect them to even spit on you when you're on fire. They want all of us DEAD, so stop playing pick me with bigots and pretending that because you're a "proper" queer, they won't stab you in the chest.

It appears that there is trouble in paradise already! In the last 24hrs things have been very juicy around the resort. Like a pack of wild animals, Hollywood’s A-Listers have been making waves and tearing each other limb from limb. Let’s review the facts shall we? 

Tom Holland and Thomas Doherty were seen fighting, yet again. This time following Holland’s secret rendezvous with ex girlfriend Zendaya. Holland was overheard telling Z he missed her and wanted her back, while Zendaya slapped him with a confession that she never even loved him. Ouch! Doherty was seen soiling his oats at the bar last night until bestie, Victoria, arrived to carry his ass home.  

Trouble struck budding threesome, Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan and Lily James after Evans admitted to sharing girlfriends with Stan. Quote: “ Seb and I always make sure to give each other whoever we last dated. almost like we’re each other’s women tester to make sure she’s good for the other.” James didn’t take this confession lightly, feeling like a piece of meat being passed around the lions den.
