I'm super curious about how Percy and Elio first met Jamie and how the three of them being roommates came about. What their first impressions of each other were, etc. Will that ever come up in the game, and if not, can you share some tidbits here?

In one of the events there’s a small blurb about it from Elio’s perspective— but all in all their first impressions of each other were really ordinary. Nothing special about how they met. And they could barely call each other friends after that first meeting— but that’s all they needed really.

Them being friends just kind of came about naturally after. As naturally as it can get anyway with Jamie in the equation haha

As for how the three of them became roommates— Elio asked the both of them and they both said sure. The end!

and really, Jason? Batboy?? someone needs to bring this up. BATBOY. i want to see what he thought his batboy costume should’ve been. did he want to be tiny batman? colorful tiny batman?? tiny red batman?

if Bruce stumbled across Jason a few years earlier or Dick stuck around a few months longer, I bet he would’ve tried to become Batboy since Robin was taken. or something equally bad. and i bet Batboy and Robin would absolutely TORMENT Batman on patrol

i think what all my veilguard crits and critiques boil down to is that the game simply fails to make me care about anyone. i care because the characters are there, but i don’t care about them after interacting with them and seeing them unfolding. i want to care about characters’ relationships with each other!

was lucanis and illario’s relationship always tense with jealousy once caterina took them in and lucanis’s somewhat superior talent emerged? what was neve’s relationship with aelia? ex-wives whose ultimate goals (bettering docktown) align but whose methods ended up diverging is delicious. why did bellara and irelin get together? and what caused them to break up? why did cyrian never join the veil jumpers?

when, where, how, and why did antoine and evka get married? how long have they been married? teia and viago’s situationship is due to his daddy issues but you won’t know that unless you’ve read their short story in tevinter nights! and why, exactly, have they not been able to overcome that as of the events of the game? did they get together recently or has it been years since then?

so much of why i care about the characters in veilguard is bc i read tevinter nights and already knew them. but i know, as a writer, that no one (especially not those with lots of professional experience in the field) wants to put a story out there with such obvious cuts. i don’t need a reason to care but it’s not good storytelling without those reasons.
