SHUTUP THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE 😭
Honestly Joke saying his ideal type is someone kind literally broke my heart into a million pieces and I'll tell you why... it's not because he thinks Jack is kind. It's because he thinks Jack as kind and that never changed. It's because he clung to that kindness all those years. It's because he idealizes kindness to the point where it shaped him. It's because Joke himself is his ideal type; he is kind and forgives and forgives and forgives because he wants to be forgiven so bad. Because he knows shame and guilt. When he was a kid every mistake was unforgivable, he was unforgivable so he believed it. Joke saying his ideal type is someone kind pains me because he cannot see kindness in himself. He is blind to the way he let Tattoo go without a second thought or the way he want to help others so desperately. He only sees those good intentions in Jack, because Jack doesn't have that fucked up-ness in him. In the mirror Joke only sees a thief, a lost cause.
But guess who sees it...
And the fact that he SAYS it to him...
I am unwell.
#i am bawling my eyes out#they should replace the joker movie with this#and im not even mentioning the rest#like how they speak of necessity#and ethics#and money#i love this show#jack and joker#joke x jack#yinwar#you steal my heart

The Perfect Match
Jason Todd x Reader
Summary: A head cannon on how Y/n is the perfect match for Jason.
Warning: this contains references to heavy topics, so if you are easily trigged, then please read at your discretion.
Masterlist - Tip Jar
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/2a3fa960ce682ff5b60a1f737640cf51/5dc12dd301710591-d2/s540x810/aab1a68967acaf4fc35a5808b29a7d3d94a2fe76.jpg)
Jason is one of the most complex people.
His life experience has set him up for some incredible challenges.
By the grace of god for everything that is good, you walked in and made him whole.
You were, Jason’s perfect match.
Understanding and Reliant
Jason has had an incredibly traumatic past, the death of his father and loving step-mother, becoming homeless, feeling rejected by his adoptive family, having his birth mother sacrifice him, being killed by the Joker… seriously… what HASN’T this poor man been through?
With that, Jason needs a partner who can at least, understand that he has a lot of pain to bare, and that Jason had his own unique way in processing that trauma.
Dick: “He tried to force Bruce into killing the Joker.”
Y/n: “Was it wrong of him to get someone else to do his dirty work? Yes, absolutely, however, the Joker did kill him and his mother… need I say more?”
Damian: “He kills criminals- not turning them into Arkham as we are required to.”
Y/n: “Firstly… hypocrisy. Secondly, Arkham is fundamentally broken and objectively not effective as we have established numerous times. Jason has found a permanent solution to criminals who hurt without cause or resolution.”
Tim: “You’re literally excusing his actions.”
Y/n: “I’m not saying I agree with everything Jason has done, but I can understand why Jason has done what he did and why he thinks that way. Agreeing and understanding are completely different words.”
Jason sitting smuggly with his arms crossed.
Jason: “Yeah! Tell them off babe.”
Jason at times feels like you’re the only person who understands him.
But even more so, Jason loves that you defend him in front of others with unwavering support.
But in private you reason with him gently.
Y/n: “Baby, I see why you feel Bruce should’ve avenged your death, but it’s just not part of his philosophies, punishing him for someone else’s crime wasn’t fair… you really should apologise for torturing him, I truely believe Bruce was doing what he thought was best.”
Jason: “… I’ll think about it.”
Loyalty
Jason has severe abandonment issues.
His father and step-mother dying in quick succession, with no extended family willing to take him in.
Meeting his bio-mother, who bargained her own life in exchange for Jason’s. Which Jason graciously accepted despite how undeserving it was.
Bruce ‘replacing’ him quickly after with Tim.
Bruce not avenging his death with the Joker.
Jason was constantly making sacrifices for others and as far as he was concerned
No one returned the favour.
So Jason really values loyalty to the highest degree.
As he believes it’s a rare trait.
Your unwavering love and support is everything Jason could’ve asked for and more.
However…
Jason: “Would you leave me if I ever cheat on you.”
Y/n: “Yes, absolutely.”
Jason: 😲
Y/n: 😐
Communication Skills
Jason, is generally, horrible at communicating his feelings and needs.
His feelings are expressed through action. Not words.
This can often be frustrating but this just means you have to come up with creative ways in which Jason can express himself.
Jason: “Fuck, fuck, fuck everything is fucked!”
Y/n: “Common grumpy pants, let’s go for a drive.”
You’ll often drive Jason to scenic places and you’ll both wonder around in silence before you take him home snuggle up and just watch a movie.
You do all the right things without being asked.
You know what he’s trying to say without him saying a word.
You know that the last thing Jason needs, is to explain himself.
All he needs is reassurance.
Which you do perfectly.
Supportive in his Endeavours
Jason has a … unique take on justice.
He is the lawyer, judge and executioner.
If he finds a criminal guilty of a heinous crime and said criminal is not sorry.
Then that criminal is typically never heard from again.
Whilst you may or may not agree, you both have a burning passion for the betterment of your community.
Don’t forget you both call Gotham your home.
Jason just loves how passionate you are at making the city better for everyone.
His focus is on cleaning up the crime whilst yours is to build a better foundation to better your community and home.
Jason loves that you hold the same values as his own.

Hiii! 28 fem here, I'm **not** replacing anyone, just looking for anyone who would be interested in more stories with me. I have more time to write so if you are 21+ please don't hesitate to send me a dm! Most random stuff but willing to do original characters as well! I love talking ooc, it helps keep me engaged and I love plotting and collaborating! Can do some days of rapid fire responses, other times it might take a few days. I know real life comes first and I will always be patient so no worries. Would love to hear from you!
Here are some of the fandoms with pairings/tropes I like:
**Spock/Kirk** - Wholesome sci-fi adventures, potential for shorter procedural missions, would ideally want to expand and write other members of the enterprise as needed (such as Bones, Sulu, Nyota, Chekov, Scotty, Nurse Chapel, etc.), would play/write either characters
**Charles/Erik** - Friends to Lovers to Enemies, would do either post xmen first class cherik or would do older versions of them, darker themes, I would prefer to write Erik in this because I don't think I can do the optimistic Charles justice, we need to plot further with this one cause I would be down for lots of ideas
**Deadpool/Spider-Man** - slooooooow burn to even get to friends then maybe 🌈, would mainly start as Deadpool and Spider-Man running into each other doing work/patrols in the city and mexican food, prefer to write as Deadpool but would be willing to write Peter
**Deadpool/Wolverine** - post movie, Logan has nightmares, differences in their timelines, Logan visits this universe's version of the X-Men. Would be open to writing either.
**Harry/Hermione** - my preference would be to start sometime during deathly hallows after Ron left and Harry and Hermione are still dealing with the Horcrux, and writing either is good with me
**Hannibal/Will** - MURDER HUSBANDS 4EVER, post fall, (or I also have very many ideas for this ship, oh man), I would loooove to play Will for once in my friggin life but I would also understand that your sweet soul could not handle Hannibal and I have experience writing hanni
**Lestat/Louis** - set season 2 finale, during the hurricane, sweet *sweet* depressing vampire cuddles while mourning our daughter crying blood, but I get that's a LOT to start so also start of s3 rockstat era, Louis doing Lestat's makeup, would write either, genuinely love these two, tho more experience writing Lestat
**Daniel/Armand** - devil's minion era, or post season 2 TV show devil's minion, Armand IS ALICE au(?), open to writing either (would also do a one shot for Daniel/Louis)
**Crowley/Aziraphale** - I prefer writing Crowley but that's cause I have a very specific view of him and his feelings for Aziraphale, however I do like writing Aziraphale too, post season 2, or lots of different ideas for this one too
**Joker/Akechi** - set p5r term 3, OR Akechi has a palace that they do after Sae’s palace and before Shido’s cause I think Akechi should get to do a patricide, or whenever joker sleeps and goes to the Velvet Room, Akechi is there or they know they are the two tricksters from the start and Joker starts in the metaverse with Akechi and Joker knows about Akechi’s murders but Akechi is his only family until he finally meets the phantom thieves and starts to pull away from Akechi and wants to turn him in
**Lucy/The Ghoul/Cooper Howard** - heterosexuals strike again, post season finale as they track down Kyle McLaughlin and figure out what is happening, would probably prefer to play The Ghoul but I would also like Lucy too so IDK not a hard preference actually
**Hughie/OC** - AU he leaves the boys and lives a normal life and is cherished for ONCE in his ridiculous existence, would be fine with either male or female OC just not starlight sorry Annie January you have a cool name but your powers kinda suck and ur personality is idk I just think him and Kimiko would have been cute 🥰
**Homelander/OC** - again I'm fine with male or female and would prefer to write the OC but am open to it. OC could be someone new joining The Seven or someone he somehow met during his childhood (maybe even Sage or Hughie)
**Tyrion Lannister/Daenerys Targaryen** - rewind a few seasons, take things slower then follow the journey to King's Landing and the Red Keep, maybe when they first met, would write either but have more experience as Daenerys. (Sidenote: I also ship Jorah/Dany and Tyrion/Varys so same thing)
**AU / Tropes** I like and would do with ANY of the ships and characters above or even OCs:
Soulmate AU
Hanahaki disease
Teammates/Roommates
Childhood best friends
Enemies-to-lovers
Coffeeshop (always - one exists in every fandom and ship)
Stockholm syndrome 🕊️
Powers OR (No Powers for fandoms that have supes, mutants, magic, etc. )
Amnesia where person A wakes up and doesn't remember person B but wrongly (rightly) assumes person B is their spouse/significant other or just memory loss of critical moments
If you're interested at all, my dms are open! Thank you! 🖤🫶🏼🩵

Joker 2 is not about its fandom. At least not on purpose.
I agree with many of the criticisms leveled at Joker 2, and I almost didn’t bother writing this review since much of what I have to say echoes the general consensus. However, there’s one particular critique I’ve seen that I strongly disagree with: the idea that Joker 2 is a repudiation of the audience that connected with the first movie.
Many have argued that the sequel turns against those who found resonance in Arthur Fleck’s transformation into the Joker, especially as the character became a symbol in real-world political protests, much like the Guy Fawkes mask from V for Vendetta was co-opted by Anonymous. But I believe this interpretation misses a key point that aligns with the themes of the original film.
The film becomes more engaging towards the end, particularly when Arthur’s followers reject him once he rejects the Joker persona. Some argue that this mirrors the way audiences connected with the first movie, using the Joker persona as a symbol during protests. However, this rejection of Arthur is consistent with the character’s portrayal in Joker (2019). Society didn’t care about Arthur as a person—an isolated, mentally ill individual—until he accidentally became a figurehead for a movement he never believed in. His followers, like society, only care about the Joker as a symbol, something they can project their own ideas onto.
While I don’t think Joker 2 is a strong film overall—it’s messy, and at best deserves a 2/5 rating—I do think it captures this idea well. It continues the theme that society values icons and symbols over real, complex individuals, much as the first film did.
Unfortunately, the first two-thirds of the film are a slog. The musical numbers, for example, add nothing of substance and slow the film to a crawl. I typically enjoy musicals, but Joaquin Phoenix is a poor singer, and the songs don’t advance the plot like they should in a good musical. Instead, they feel like pointless interludes. In the best musicals, songs are integral to storytelling, not interruptions.
The connections to Batman mythology, which were subtle but effective in the first Joker, feel more forced and distracting in this film. In Joker (2019), Gotham felt like Gotham, and there were enough subtle nods to Batman’s lore to justify the film's title. Here, however, it feels as though someone simply took an original screenplay and used a Find and Replace tool to rename elements: Arkham Asylum, Harvey Dent—they feel shoehorned in. Especially jarring is the fact that we're supposed to believe a character's Christian name is Harley Quinn (harlequin, get it?) in what is meant to be a world that is so grounded, I can't buy Bruce Wayne ever even grows up to be Batman in this continuity.
In the first film, even though Arthur Fleck’s story was largely inspired by Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy, it still included some elements from The Killing Joke and The Dark Knight Returns, giving it a legitimate connection to the Batman universe. The riot at the end, leading to the deaths of Thomas and Martha Wayne, was a clever tie-in to Batman’s origin, even if it required some suspension of disbelief regarding the age difference between Bruce Wayne and this version of the Joker.
Joker 2 is ultimately a confused film that doesn’t know what it wants to say for much of its runtime. While it offers some interesting thematic continuity regarding society’s elevation of fictional personas over real people, it’s bogged down by poor pacing, weak musical numbers, and forced connections to Batman lore. While I’m glad I saw it for the final third, which genuinely resonated with me, I can’t recommend it to a general audience.

When the villians are more sympathetic than the hero, you've failed. They should be at least equally sympathetic. For example: let's look at Spiderman. Despite me not liking Steve Ditko's Spiderman, I've seen Spiderman tv shows and movies and games. And you know what? I like the villians (I like Doctor Octopus, Mysterio and the rest), but Spiderman is a sympathetic character. His school life, his family life, he's relatable. So you can root for both him and enjoy the villians.
Not the case with batman. With possibly two main exceptions (Adam West's Batman and Batman: The Brave and The Bold), Batman puts me to sleep. His villians are compelling. Batman beats up the mentally ill for a living, and we call him a hero. What have Scarecrow, Riddler, Joker, Mr. Freeze, Two-Face and The Mad Hatter all have in common? Oh, yeah. Clear signs of mental illness!
And don't tell me batman can't fix this! Arkham could be replaced with a functional care facility, but batman doesn't want to fix it. I honestly think he gets some sick pleasure from beating up the mentally ill. I really do think that. And that's why I want batman dead. I would not trust him if he were a real person and I don't trust him as a fictional character.
PS: Also, Stan Lee gave marvel a better "voice" than DC. DC is boring and hard to want to read. Marvel feels fun, bombastic and exciting! DC just shot themselves in the foot repeatedly. Their characters back in the 50s and 60s mostly feel like cardboard cutouts to me. Not the case at marvel.

Just watched the new Joker and I have Thoughts(tm)
So, this is less of a problem i have with the movie itself and more of a problem I have with how the character has been written in the last couple of years, movies and comics included. And it's that he's not funny.
and I know that's a bit of a dumb thing to say, he's the joker, he's not supposed to be funny, he's supposed to be a scary murder clown that's the embodiment of chaos or a grim reflection of batman with a philosophy major
and i gotta rebuke both statements right there. With the chaos philosopher schtick, i don't see that as Joker. most of those are an attempt to cash in on Dark Knight, which, frankly, I don't think is a very good joker either. That Joker, i feel, could've been replaced with Riddler easy, and not only would it have not changed anything, it would've stayed more true to the character. a big complicated plot involving choices and consequences and a big Rube Goldberg esque plot? that's Riddler's MO to a T. Joker should be dressing up as an ice cream man giving out cyanide popsicles to kids. They just used Joker because he's more recognizable and gets people in the seats
And that leads me to my other point, that he's not funny anymore. And some of you might think "Oh Phoenix, he's never been funny, he's a deranged psycopath" and yeah, he's not funny to us, but he is supposed to be funny to him. Remember Mark Hamill's joker, mostly agreed on to be the best portrayal of him period? Remember that episode about him genetically altering fish all so he could copyright the look? that was never meant to be funny to us, that was meant to be funny to him. and that's the entire point. they never use him for fun stuff anymore. he's depressed or philosophizing or doing edgy teen emo shit like cutting off his face. That's not funny to anybody, the whole point of the character should be that he is both the comedian and the audience. No matter what crazy thing he does, no matter how bad things get, the Joker's only priority should be to enjoy the joke

Project Link Up All Stars- The One Thing You Can’t Replace
Art by @kindabizarretbh

Michael DuPont (Mega Man Mega Linkage, Linker of Dr. Wily)- Mr. McNamara
Lucas Daybreak (Mega Man Mega Linkage, Linker of Zero)- Jake McNamara
Various other Linkers from other installments as the Party Guests
Rami Banjarski (Super Smash Bros Power Linkage, Linker of Donkey Kong)- Kid who broke pool table
Kokoda Masuko (Crayon Shin Chan Linkage of Mayhem, Linker of Shin Chan)- Kid who took a crap on the computer
Darren Wilkes (Mega Man Mega Linkage, Linker of Duo)- Chicago Police Officer
Jonathan Rue (Persona Linkage of Light and Dark, Linker of Ren Amamiya/Joker)- Alex
Note: Everyone here is drinking soda and stuff like that.
Another story I heard about myself, this one happened not that long ago. There was this guy at Rivet Bay Middle School whose nephew went to the city’s neighboring high school. His name was Michael DuPont and his nephew Lucas Daybreak went to that high school. He’s a freshman, while I’m a seventh grader. So he’s two years ahead of me.
And Mr. DuPont was a butthole, and one weekend, he and his wife decided to leave town, which you should never do, if you are a butthole. And Lucas decided to throw a party at his uncle’s house.
Hurray!
And everyone- us Linkers and their Partner Characters around our cities heard about it and we all got up individually and thought…
“Okay, let's go over there and destroy the place.”
I walked into this party. Everyone I had ever met was there and everyone was drinking soda like it was the end of the world. People were drinking soda like it was the Cybertronian War and Ratchet was coming to saw our legs off. It was totally unsupervised. We were like the Decepticons without Soundwave, we were running wild.
I walked down, I walked down to the basement. They had a pool table in the basement. One Linker took a running start and his Partner Character threw his body onto the pool table and broke it in half. Another Linker found out which room was Mr. DuPont’s and went upstairs and his Partner Character took a crap on his computer.
So the party was going great.
I'm standing in the basement, and I'm holding a red cup; you see in movies. And I'm standing there and I'm holding a red cup and I'm starting to black out and I guess someone said like something, something police and in a brilliant moment of word association, I yelled: f** Da Police! f** Da Police! And everyone else joined in. A 100 drunk white Linkers yelling “f** Da Police”. With the confidence of guys who have already been to jail and aren't afraid of it anymore, you know that like, I'll serve my nickel, you come and take me, confidence. But white children.
The reason someone had said something, something police was because the police were there. So Officer Darren Wilkes walked down the stairs and got to the bottom in the basement and looked out over a sea of drunk toddlers yelling; f** Da Police in his face, but he was almost impressed.
He was like wow, and then he leaned into his walkie-talkie and went, get the paddy wagon. And my friend Maximus, who is now a Linker, this man’s got a Partner Character in the form of Cell, he grabbed a Fanta, threw it on the ground, and yelled scatter.
And everyone ran into different directions. We all ran in different directions. It was like that scene in Ratatouille when the humans come in the kitchen and all the rats go in different ways. We all ran in different directions.
I ran into the laundry room and I jumped up on the washing machine and I crawled out through a window into the backyard and now I'm running through the backyard and there was this big chain link fence and I thought I've never climbed a fence that high before. And then I woke up at home.
On Monday, I went to school because that's what we always do. And I'm walking into the school building and who do I see but Lucas. And he says to me hey, were you at my party on Saturday and I said no, you know, like a liar. And he said things got really outta hand. Someone broke the pool table. Someone took a crap on my uncle’s computer.
But the worst thing, he says; the worst thing is that someone stole these old antique photos of my grandma and my aunt and uncle are freaking out about it. And I had that thought that only blackout drunks and Steve Urkel can have. Did I do that? I figured no. I wouldn't have done that.
But I was never sure, until after I became a Linker, relax. I'm playing video games with this kid named Jonathan that we also met on the internet with. Few weeks later, we’re Linkers by now. We're playing video games for a couple hours with our Partner Characters, and then Jonathan says to me, hey, come here I want to show you something and he takes me into his bedroom and then he takes me into a side room off of his bedroom. Never a good thing to have.
He shows me a tiny room that is covered wall to wall in stolen antique photos from different people's parties over the years. And I said why? Why do you do this? And Jonathan said, because it's the one thing you can't replace. That's the end of that story, but how screwed up is that right? That's crazy.

BATMAN: UNDER THE RED HOOD SENTENCE STARTERS. all these sentences are taken from the animated movie under the red hood (2010) as well some from the comic of the same story arc. there will be mentions of death, torture, loss and the joker, who is like a warning on it's own. change pronouns and names as you see fit.
What hurts more? A? Or B? Forehand? Or backhand?
Now, that was rude. The first boy blunder had some manners.
Nah, I'm just gonna keep beating you with this crowbar.
Oh, Bird Boy, you're so much less fun now. All grown up and in your big-boy pants.
till, better off than his replacement, right?
Even tougher making with the yuks when you're worm food, huh?
Just be happy I only killed one of them. They're all assassins.
I'm cleaning up Gotham. More than you ever did.
You're stealing territory from Black Mask and killing anyone who gets in your way.
Plan? You're becoming a crime lord!
Yes! You can't stop crime. That's what you never understood. I'm controlling it.
You wanna rule them by fear, but what do you do with the ones who aren't afraid? I'm doing what you won't, I'm taking them out.
Tell me what happened to you. Let me help.
It's too late. You had your chance. And I'm just getting started.
You know, it only hurts when I laugh.
I'm just something you helped make.
Is that what you think this is about? You letting me die? I don't know what clouds your judgement worse, your guilt or your antiquated sense of morality.
Bruce, I forgive you for not saving me. But why, why on God's earth is he still alive?!
Gotta give the boy points. He came all the way from the dead to make this shindig happen.
You wanna die? There's easier ways to kill yourself.
Yeah, like yelling at the guy who's holding the AK-47.
I'm chatty. It's part of my charm.
He sliced that cable off his ankle before it went taunt. You don't just do that. That has to be practiced. Learned.
Then I got him killed. My partner. My soldier. My fault. I own that. I'll carry that like everything else.
This is not your doing. You loved him. He knows that. It should be enough.
Do you remember how he was when I found him?
You know, I thought... I thought I'd be the last person you'd ever let him hurt.
What? What, your moral code just won't allow for that? It's too hard to cross that line?
Why? I'm not talking about killing Penguin or Scarecrow or Dent. I'm talking about HIM, just him. And doing it because... because he took me away from you.
He's a drug dealing pimp! I didn't think I had to prop up some pillows before I took him out!
You shattered his collar bone!
Please,I can help you.I know what happened.
Does it make it easier for you to think that my dip in his fountain of youth turned me rabid? Or is this just the real me?
I think you may have a collapsed lung. That always impedes the oratory.
No. This doesn't change anything. It doesn't change anything at all.
It's him or me! You have to decide! Decide, now!
I'm going to blow his deranged brains out! And if you want to stop it, you are going to have to shoot me, right in my face!
If you won't kill this psychotic piece of filth, I will! If you want to stop me, you're going to have to kill me!
If you can't suit up quickly at home base, I'm concerned how you will handle it in the field.
Perhaps he is primping.
Get out here or I'm going on patrol without you.
Ha! Gotcha!
It feels awesome! Check me out, I'm Robin the boy wonder! Are you kidding me? This Rocks!
Come on old man, we got bad guys who need chasing.
This is the best day of my life.

punchline feels superfluous to me? how does she feel to you? i also almost feel like joker should have been retired if they were gonna pull her out? she almost works far better as a next gen joker than she does as his new sidekick? like i get theyre trying to fill a hole that rehabilitated harley leaves but lmao she's no harley and we're so used to harley that trying to replace her just feels so cheap 😬 like restructure feels wiser than replace at this point.
Look I'm probably not the right person for this, because I largely find Harley superfluous and my reading experience of DC comics would be highly improved if she wasn't present, let alone a second character reacting to Harley's early storylines.
In terms of Punchline (having read only her opening storyline and her first one-shot); I think she has potential, in her character design. What is interesting to me is that Tynion et al did clearly consider a bunch of the problems with Harley's design and long term arcs when designing her.
Harley Quinn, at her base design, is a psychiatrist who got too caught up in her patient's mental world and crossed multiple ethical boundaries and lost her mind.
Punchline, on the other hand, is very clearly designed out of the sort of woman obsessed with true crime. She's not only got a true crime podcast where she investigates to find the 'true' Joker and his motivations, but she's full of echoes of the sort of women who write letters to serious criminals in prison and sometimes end up married to them. She's pretty clearly aware of how to exploit the media narrative. It's a smart angle to run on this, because it's very relatable and there are all sorts of story opportunities to showcase the dangers of "oh no I'm about to deep dive on this criminal/incident and construct a conspiracy theory out of random events because I've decided coincidences never occur".
Harley, arguably, got trapped into the situation she was in. Punchline stepped into it willingly.
We need more unrepentant female villains, and at present Punchline is actually in that slot. I would prefer it if she also wasn't doing this to win herself a man (the shades of Gilda Dent are obvious), but at least the only crying about how it's not really her fault, she was tricked into this, is Alexis deliberately manipulating people to try and get herself out of being charged and imprisoned.
Yes, I do think she got designed mostly because a bunch of Joker fans were missing the dynamic that Harley brought to Joker (I don't particularly get it personally, but the multitude of comics and cartoons and movies and games, over and over, about it do suggest that it's something a bunch of people enjoy). But what she's bringing is a dynamic that Harley's largely been lacking in main continuity for years, where she's bouncing off and responding to the Joker and acting as a lieutenant.
There's also elements of: look, part of the reason I try to avoid reading Harley is that I don't actually enjoy the sort of fourth wall breaking genre awareness she frequently displays these days, or her style of comedy. She's an exhausting scene-stealer, which is fine if you like her, but aggravating if you care about other characters in the story more. Punchline in her introduction doesn't display any of this; she got some debut hype but she's not forcing the story to pivot around her. She can turn up, be a villain, then go away.
I agree Punchline would be equally interesting in terms of her character motivation if she was doing this and Joker wasn't on page - if Alexis coming up with theories and obsessing over a fully imprisoned criminal - but Joker makes DC a lot of money. He's not going offpanel for particularly long.

It's always so easy to tell when someone discussing Jason Todd has never actually read A Death In The Family. Like they don't need to get any huge detail wrong there's just small things. 9 times out of 10 they'll replace their lack of comic knowledge with knowledge they gained from the Animated movie Under the Red Hood which took a LOT of liberties especially concerning Jason's death (it's also not a hugely faithful adaptation of his return outside of stealing some dialogue straight from the comic but it's biggest liberties were with his death and his actual resurrection).
Small things like saying Jason died in Bosnia (he didn't he died in Ethiopia) or saying it snowed when Jason died (he died in a desert, so no it wasn't snowing, it was in fact very sandy, Jason should be peak Anakin post resurrection, he should hate sand), or the "what hurts more? Forehand or Backhand", or saying he died cause he was reckless and ran after the Joker when he was told not to because he was angry when in reality Jason went to his mother who he knew was being blackmailed by the Joker and offered her help and she sold him out, Jason did not know the Joker was in that warehouse when he let Shiela lead him into it.
Now I'd understand not reading this comic if it was some horribly obscure but it's really not. It's reprinted regularly and available in most places comics are sold. I bought my copy in a bookstore and within a week of me buying it they'd restocked it.
Also I'm not saying they NEED to go and read all these comics to like the character BUT it can get frustrating when trying to have a conversation about Jason when people aren't working on the same foundations.

How about instead of Anne Hathaway she should be replaced with:
Helen mirren, Judy dench, Meryl Streep, Vanessa Williams, Kathy bates, Susan Sarandon, sigourney weaver, Jodi foster, Glenn close, Jane Fonda, lily tomlin, Diane Keaton, Jean smart, viola davis, Michelle yeoh, Rita Moreno
is this the age range you’re thinking of? Or are the above still too young to be playing mothers of a 21 year old? Or is this another one of your half baked analysis of how after a certain age actresses are relegated to the role of “mother”?
what is your “perfect” “feminist” age that an actress can be portrayed as a mother without it being offensive to you? Zendaya played a mother at 26, starting to pigeonhole herself early isn’t she?
Watch Maria - Angelina is not a mother in that, or Wicked - Cynthia is 38 / Ariana is 31 and not moms, or the substance - Demi and Margaret aren’t mothers, it ends with us - Blake lively isn’t a mother, fly me to the moon - Scarlett Johansson is not a mom, fall guy - Emily blunt is not a mother, joker 2 - lady gaga was a not a mom, argylle - Bryce Dallas Howard is not a mom, a quiet place 2 - lupita is not a mom, my old ass - Aubrey plaza not a mom, civil war - Kirsten dunst is not a mom, the six triple eight, love lies bleeding
these are all 2024 movies off the top of my head with female actresses of a certain age that are not mothers. Let there be more! But don’t sit here and bitch about a 42 year old playing a mother in a movie.
the above doesn’t matter because even a 50 year old actress would still be pigeonholed into a mother role? Actresses are still needed to play mothers in films or do you want to do away with any representation of motherhood until non motherhood roles are more prevalent?
but hey, I’m sure you’ll support Anne's next movie with Colleen Hoover if she’s not playing a mother right?

Barbie bringing in a billion worldwide automatically puts Margot at #1, although ppl always say JLaw is the last traditional movie star so in a way im nt sure if she shuld even b on the list tbh. Im shocked margot is under 35 😅
JLaw aside, I think Margot n Timmy make sense as the top 3. Flo/Anya shuld b higher. Taylor S shuld nt b on the list 😭 shuldv replaced her with Taylor Russell. Austin shuld b in the top 10/15 bt nt sure if hes that known to b number 4. I think they shuldv replaced jacob e with barry bt im nt even sure if either is that known? It depends on ppls perpective on what a movie star is now tho
Who wuld b yr top 10?
Lol Margot has NEVER looked her age to me rofl 🤣 She's always looked older lol. I thought it was just me lol. I notice that about a LOT of Australians though. They usually look a lot older than their age. 😅
I agree, Flo should def be higher. I'll see how Anya's new film does before saying she should be higher.
I agree, Taylor S shouldn't even be on this list lol 👀, but her concert movie did do amazing last year.
I agree, Taylor Russell should be on this list.
With Austin, I'm not sure this list is so much about how well known you are (if that were the case, Tom Holland would be much higher on this list). JE isn't that well-known either and he's still at #7.
I think they took into account how well Austin's "Elvis" movie did, the number of awards he was nominated for and won that awards season, the fact that he was nominated for an Oscar, as well as the directors he's been working with and the films he's rumored to be in for his several upcoming projects. 😉
Paul is pretty high up on this list cuz he has "Gladiator 2" coming out, and he was also nominated for an Oscar.
I think Barry should be higher than JE imo. 👀 C'mon.... Barry was in "The Batman", will be playing the Joker in that franchise, has been nominated for an Oscar, and was just in "Saltburn" and the critically-acclaimed "Masters of the Air" series on AppleTV this year.
My Top 10??
I can't say which ORDER I'd put these actors in, but the ppl who I def think should be in the Top 10 are:
Margot
Zendaya
Tom
Timmy
Florence
Austin
Barry
Jennifer
Rachel Zegler
Halle Bailey
Honorable Mentions:
(If it weren't for their age, I would have also added these to the list )
Glenn Powell (believe it or not)
Kingsley Ben-Adir

i KNOW ed's background was always a lil inconsistent, a lil vague at times. but like... what we HAVE gotten across multiple medias or even comics themselves, king's rendition just goes against all that. hell, king's characterization of eddie just goes against all that. and it kinda sucks BECAUSE king does indeed clearly wants to make eddie a bigger villain, but my problem is that king just takes it way too far. i want ed to be taken seriously, but i don't want him to be "the most evil, worse than joker" type of villain. i still wanted him to have redeemable qualities, and even be redeemed someday. :(
whilst there can be many bat villains who are irredeemable and truly evil souls. (joker, zsasz, pyg all come to mind) but like. i don't think the majority of them should be depicted that way? especially not fucking eddie (who, before king, was usually a pretty tame villain) because like the whole point to bruce's no kill rule is that 1) no human should have that power and 2) bruce believes in redemption, bruce believes that life is worth something and that anyone can turn around if they want to. if all of bruce's villains are just these horrible child murdering irredeemable pieces of shit, it kinda makes the whole no kill rule pointless.
and LIKE. sorry. but i don't wanna read eddie threatening to kill children (or actually kill them) like, if i wanted to read that -- i'd turn to joker instead, not eddie. like i wanna see eddie fuck with bruce, i wanna see him ruin things for bruce, maybe kill some ppl (not fucking children ffs) in elaborate traps, i wanna see him prove his intellect. i'm SURE there are plenty of ppl like me, too. like literally almost everything i've enjoyed about eddie, king did the opposite.
i understand that king is probz proud of his work -- clearly he must like ed (or his version lmao) because he keeps writing him, so he seems eager. but it just... his take feels so soulless to me. his fun is gone and been replaced with over the top edge, he's now essentially a sexless being bc he's depicted more as a sophisticated man rather than a sleazeball criminal. ffs, king's backstory p much implies he doesn't even like riddles really. like... all his personality just feels stripped for a boring character who's super edgy.
also... why should he just be ALLOWED to change the character's name? like YES, i know eddie has always been a more inconsistent rogue. but LIKE. his name has been nashton at least since the 80s, if "nigma" (or the y variation) isn't used, then it's nashton. as seen in the 22 film and ark origins. that would be like saying "we can just change pamela's last name to brickleberry because we said so :)"
which to finally put it -- i don't mind changes or new takes on characters. after all, DC's lore TENDS to be very flexible. after all, i like joker 2019 but that's because it was a movie and therefore not actual canon lore. the joker wasn't just suddenly drastically changed in original canon. so... if king is going to do so many changes to ed, i just feel like... it should be in an AU or noncanon comic.
and like, hell -- even my take on eddie tends to differ from canon. but i just... MAYBE I'M WRONG -- but i don't feel like i've changed eddie so much to the point he feels unrecognizable or totally different? like i keep his canon names, i keep the canon that he was abused by an UNWEALTHY father (as seen or mentioned in the annual #8, 2005's riddle me that, and possibly year of the villain & zero year) i keep the canon that he has a neglectful mother (not an absent one who eddie killed lmao -- as seen in annual #8, and year of the villain) i keep the canon that ed's father DISAPPROVED of his puzzles, NOT encouraged (as seen in ark games, the 2004 cartoon, and the riddle me that 2005 comics) i keep the canon that he LIKES sex workers (just in quite a few comics!!! ed seems to enjoy their company since he keeps either visiting them or even hiring them!!!) i keep the canon that eddie has ALWAYS liked puzzles since he was a kid (srsly, this was a thing since his debut in 1948) AND LIKE. i try my best to do a balance of keeping his personality serious, whilst still having him be quite fun!
#oculusxcaro#( 🧩 ✧ INFERIOR PUPPETEER ✧ | OOC )#// it rly did feel like king DID take everything canon from ed and then changed it to be the opposite#// bc he's one of the those ppl that thinks doing the opposite is “clever”

folie is a curse for joker fans
i apologize in advance if this posts hurts sensitive people in the fandom i am done hiding my pain inside my heart it has to pour out in writing and this is my honest opinion about the sequel
i am not able to accept the things i read about joker from youtubers, shippers and few joaquin fans after watching the sequel it's confirmed this movie was not for us 💔 but there are fans loving it 😵💫 it's fine i am not saying nobody should like it
i am a sensitive person who finds comfort in fiction dealing with health issues in reality whatever i saw in the movie was wrong, if the society is ugly we know it we didn't need todd to bring that garbage 🗑️ in our arthur life he kept suffering in a locked room it was hell when he deserved to be treated in a hospital 🏥 the court room scenes didn't make any sense since they only had the first movie characters proving arthur does not deserve any justice from sophie to gary and his therapist who didn't care about him since day one was calling him delusional but she didn't talk about how they cut funding and arthur didn't get his medicines when he needed them to be stable
the plot of this sequel is a mental ill person has no place in society and arthur deserved to rot in the aslyum 😠 i get so angry to think about the way todd twisted mind wrote this script and gave it to joaquin 😮💨 while joaquin is not a saint he saw arthur as a experiment 🧪 in his acting lab i am upset with him 😒 when he should have made arthur life better
when i watched the first joker movie because of the title joker, the stairs dance scene was viral on youtube, i heard it was joker origin story and his name was arthur, i loved the movie with this idea in mind that arthur is joker but then comes todd telling us no this is not joker our arthur was never joker who gave him the right to break my heart when this joker was the reason i am alive i remember the pain i suffered in 2019- 2020 my health issues 😪 when i was admitted in hospital for a day i kept thinking about my joker he gave me strength to get well soon my only reason to survive i woke up every day getting excited to make edits for him and reading fanfiction on ao3 about him being this clown fighting the evil justice system in gotham city, i found my strength in joker , i was out of bed learning to walk and breathe fresh air with motivation to live life again, the negative thoughts disappeared and joker replaced it with joy and laughter
i expected joker to take revenge in the sequel look at the john wick movies he fights bad guys with a gun 🔫 he gets hurt but he comes back stronger a real hero he is not gonna sit and watch people abuse him it's so wrong and i hate todd for making this arthur suffer the worst things in the movie folie 😒
i wake up with this thought that man made this movie to hate us joker fans despite the fact he got paid so much money 💰 i won't accept the fact he is not joker arthur is joker for me he is smart and has the right to defend himself not get abused by guards in arkham that scene is replaying my mind like a horror movie i don't even wanna talk about the last scene 😔 no wonder everybody hates it outside gaga fandom
the first joker movie he turned into joker and won the gotham clown supporters the story ended on a good note i can watch that movie thousand times and how arthur was cute and adorable in the clown makeup and not to forget carnival , the sequel also brings that ugly lee she is an idiot obsessed with the idea of joker and not arthur himself while her shippers are the ones who love this movie 🙂 they hate arthur or they belong to happy rich families they don't care about mental health issues 😪 the ones who pretended to care about arthur are lecturing us we know our arthur better than them so shut up and keep your fake sympathy with u we don't need it, i am not a sinner for loving joker i will continue supporting him nobody cares outside stan twitter about these things we are free to have an opinion and we loved arthur before them we share a special bond with him 🤡
The ones mocking me for having that nightmare about arthur leaving me it was only a trick of my mind i don't care about it, i see it as a fictional world none of the things in my dreams is real but my feelings are real i am real so it's better i choose myself and not the sequel where my innocent artie was tortured by todd to make us suffer
i am not wasting more time sitting and crying, it's better to move on and live in peace ✌️ i will write for arthur and joker in my fanfiction i don't have to take permission from todd since it's a fictional character not a biopic of a real person i can interpret it my way he has no control over me or my creativity as a writer it's like when i make edits it's my choice to select a song not the youtube playlist recommending me music and last i am a arthur fan i love him being sweet but he killed people he is not full innocent it might sound bitter but it's the truth but i love him as joker i admit i am attracted to grey shade characters in movies
i can't imagine arthur without joker they both are the same person fighting for his rights, mental health and injustice in society

MJ Lenderman — Manning Fireworks (Anti-)
MJ Lenderman has a voice built for earnestness, a creaky tenor with holes worn thin where the emotion rubs. Listen with half an ear, and it sounds like he’s confessing to you: romantic disappointment, bad choices, bars and lies and gadgets that overcompensate for the empty spaces in his heart. Listen harder, and the writerly part of Lenderman’s art starts to come through, the clever twists, the novelistic details, the detachment. You get the sense, after a while, that he might not be singing about his own life at all. Layers of honesty and embellishment shimmer like a hologram; like Bill Callahan, he has the trick of being dead straight with you about things that never happened. Maybe they should have. They make good stories.
Consider how he tosses off a couplet about the quarter-life crisis in the title track, amid spun out country strings and distant squalls of rock guitar. In perfect waltz time, he confides, “Some have passion, some have purpose, you have sneaking backstage to hound the girls at the circus.” Which is perfect in a 1940s noir movie kind of way, but when was the last time anybody went to the circus?
The doomed romance, the ragged heartful-ness, the underlying shimmer of cleverness, that’s one element that makes Lenderman’s fourth full-length studio album so special. The other is the wrecking ball arrangements, that turn loose squalls of feedback addled electric guitar amid hazy swoons of strings. On “Wristwatch,” the slow-rocking sleeper of the bunch, he sounds a bit like Crazy Horse and a lot like the Replacements roundabout Hootenanny, which is to say drunk on amplifier noise but faithful to melody and throwing wild punches into the crowd. “Rudolph” blares and laments, its main riff a righteous conjunction of hard drums, electric sway and a pining pedal steel. It’s a banger, but Lenderman sings it carelessly, with an offhanded charm, as if he doesn’t know how big his song has gotten. “Bark at the Moon,” the album’s closing cut, lets things rip for just over 10 minutes, an ambling rock song ending halfway through to make space for vibrating waves of pure tone.
None of it is simple—especially given that Lenderman apparently played all the rock instruments himself—but here’s an artist who doesn’t break a sweat. Whether he’s launching a Neil-like arc of guitar dissonance skyward or getting off the perfect description of the horn that wheels through “You Don’t Know the Shape I’m In,” (“The clarinet, singing its lonesome duckwalk”), it never feels like Lenderman is trying too hard. It’s like it’s all natural, all heartfelt, all direct from him to you, except it’s not. It’s more interesting than that.

Current project:
Danny as the mall grinch
Plot- Danny normally dislikes Christmas ( the over played Christmas music, the fighting over weather or not Santa is real or not, the over commercialization of Christmas in general) , it's his thing to hate Christmas.
Danny's a broke college student living in Gotham, and he's not going to ask anyone for money or a handout,he has pride . Rent was due soon, so he started looking for a seasonal job.
he finds a job he would like after a few long hours, mall Grinch. He would get to act like the Grinch he is all day AND get paid to do it? And all he has to do is pretend to be the Grinch for little kids and adults who like the 'how the Grinch stole Christmas' movie? Sign him up.
Unknown to Danny a few independent scrooges have eyes on the mall he will be working at. A big charity event is going to take place in the giant mall with a professional Santa. And charities mean money, a certain clown decides to crash the event early by replacing the mall Santa.
Meanwhile something happened to the scarecrow, it's like he's been possessed by something.
Locations - a fake giant Gotham mall I made up
Possibly featuring a abandoned mall from the Arkham games.( Might have scarecrow go there)
Characters -
Danny - mall Grinch
Joker - ' replacement ' mall santa
Scarecrow - possessed by krampus
Gary , an original character I made up,
he is a man who works in the mall,
he put up a advertisement online looking for someone to be a mall grinch,
he was the one who wanted the mall Grinch to be the live action movie Grinch.
He is a make up artist and is the one to put Danny in his costume every day and personally pays Danny his money
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-
(The mall Grinch Job ,it's a real job listing online in real life too, very nice to know,I looked it up and in south Carolina there were a few listings for one)
I originally was thinking about using toyman in this, have toys running around the mall terrorizing everyone trapped in the mall, just so I could have another excuse to let Danny as the Grinch go through the mall destroying weaponized Christmas toys and saving children.
but was really indecisive about it so I made a poll asking about it, I already had joker in the fic,so I asked if I should bring in toyman or scarecrow, and etc.
It was really close but scarecrow won
He wouldn't be scarecrow without his mask but here is Jonathan crane in the middle of going through a transformation into a krampus , the krampus didn't have a physical body so tried to take Jonathan crane's body, but Jonathan crane is the scarecrow, and scarecrow instead trapped the krampus in his mind, stealing the krampus 's power for himself, though he has to exert a lot of will power to stay in control. He is hiding out as his body changes but he is still making plans during it.

Other plans I have in mind for the story is Danny going around mildly defacing Christmas decorations, sabotaging Christmas music, and other things to improve moral.
Possibly Danny exploring the mall so to know his way around later in the story, only for that knowledge to be rendered useless after a point, lol.
I don't plan for Batman to show up, seeing as I planned on Bruce Wayne attending the charity event I had planned for the story , so robin might not show up either 😁
Red Hood would be in crime alley taking care of it
Night wing is in bludhaven
, I plan on researching other batfamily members before I try writing them into my story.
To stay motivated I try drawing stuff
