Aaaaaa thank you! This took a while cuz this got long, lol sorry! Aight, so here’s ALL my SW faves for this ask prompt list!

FAVE MOVIE: Revenge of the Sith. 10000%. It just has everything! You get to see the Obikin relationship in all its glory, first and foremost, how much those two loved each other more than anything and knew each other better than anyone, and just how much they genuinely got along and then we got our hearts broken watching them have to fight after Anakin made his Goof Of The Millennium and just oooooof all the feels about my boys! Seeing Padmé and just loving her so gotdang much for being strong and wanting the best life for everyone, all while she was so scared and had so little support from anyone, and just couldn’t do it in the end. Seeing the end of the Republic, how after a thousand years, just, *poof*, just like that in like two days (yes, I know Sidious was planning it for over a decade but still), the horrific fascination on how Sidious was able to do that. Just the brilliance of Sheev’s character, how you despise him, but how brilliantly everything was pulled off. The angst of Order 66, how especially after TCW you love these characters SO MUCH and then you gotta watch them DIE HORRIBLY BY THOSE THEY TRUSTED, THOSE WHO NEVER HAD A CHOICE EITHER. Did I mention feeling so freaking bad for Obi Wan and his Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day??? Because I really do, he’s so good and kind and we see his life fall apart and ugh I love him. And y’all, watching Anakin Skywalker fall from grace like the brightest angel he was, you hate him for what he did, but you still can’t help but love him and cry for him and his loss because he was so good, and he did not deserve all this to happen to him but he did it to HIMSELF AAAAGGHHHH. Also, Obes and Ani were at peak prettiness this movie!! Just asdfkjglkdskajsrlk best movie love so diggity dang much

FAVE PAIRING: Oh, how EVER will I choose– Obikin. It’s Obikin, all the way, no contest. I know I’ve yelled about it a million and one times so I’ll save y’all the rant on how much I adore these disasters and their relationship and how I think they’re goddamn soulmates and the most interesting dynamic in the entire Saga. I ship them romantically and platonically and just everything, they’re so fucking important to one another and that’s why it hurts so much to watch them fall apart, and that’s why I’m so incredibly happy that they get to canONICALLY SPEND THEIR ENTIRE AFTERLIFE TOGETHER BECAUSE FORCE GHOSTS HELL YEAH. If I had to pick just secondary fave romantic and platonic relationships, hmmmm that’s hard. BUT, I’m gonna have to go with Kanera for romantic; SWR was what got me back into Star Wars and one of my favorite parts of it was watching Kanan and Hera, how much I loved them separately, but just how much they were a team together and I love them and I was unbelievably upset when Jedi Night happened (and I still have a rant about how animated Star Wars kills off their romantic couples in the exact same manner, pls ask me about how TCW’s The Lawless and Rebels’ Jedi Night had basically all of the same plot points that ended in killing off a romantic lead). For other fave platonic relationship, gonna have to go with Luke/Han/Leia BROT3 (separate from Hanleia as a romance, which is probs my 3rd fave). These disasters were the original Golden Trio, they saved the galaxy together all while yelling dramatically and having each other’s backs to the bitter end (or, at least ‘till the end of ROTJ lol) and I just love them as a team so dang much

FAVE TV SHOW EPISODE: Okay, since there are four TV shows, it’s only fair for me to pick one (or more don’t judge me) from each! Let’s see, from The Clone Wars, my fave eps have to be the entire Mortis trilogy arc in S3 because Obes/Ani/Snips family dynamic, Force Shenanigans, BEAUTIFUL scene designs, Anakin angst, just so many good things oof, and also Dooku Captured from S1, which I just adore because Obikin snark, annoying Grandpa Dooku, Hondo Fucking Ohnaka making everyone look so bad at their jobs, I just love it agh. Whoops that was technically four faves, so gotta do four for Rebels too! Gonna go wiiiiith World Between Worlds from S4 for Badass Ahsoka Tano, Ezra being brave and talented, Sheev being Absolutely Ridiculous, and just the overall Force Shenanigans cuz canon time travel y’all; The Lost Commanders from S2 because Rex is awesome, Kanan angst, and really good Kanan and Ezra bonding and Jedi awesomeness, Fire Across the Galaxy from S1 because of Ghost fam dynamics, Kanan angst, more Kanan and Ezra bonding, and just good stuff, and Twilight of the Apprentice in S2 (lol what about my username?) for being creepy and cool and maKING ME CRY ANAKIN YOU STUPID THRICE COOKED TOILET SEAT LEAVE AHSOKA ALONE. *cough* Ok, fine, I’ll stick with only one ep for the other two series. For Resistance, gonna have to go with the latest ep, actually! We get to see Kaz being clever and caring about his fam on the Colossus, really cool designs for Aeos and its people, Tam angst, and just everyone shining! For The Mandalorian, it’s gotta be the finale, Redemption, we get Din name, Armorer kicking everyones asses and me loving it, BABY YODA DOING THE HAND WAVE, Din getting over his issues with droids and connecting with IG only for IG to FUCKING DIE, DIN AND BABY YODA BEING AN OFFICIAL CLAN OF TWO, Taika just knocking this whole episode out of the park with the funny scouttroopers at the beginning who still deserved the ass-whooping they got for fucking murdering Kuiil and hiTTING BABY YODA YOU SLIMY FUCKNUGGETS–

FAVE CHARACTER: Alright, look, I can narrow it down to FIVE and that is IT. I just love too many Star Wars characters, I can’t go lower than top five! Ok, so my four favorites are Obi Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Leia Organa, Kanan Jarrus, and Finn Skywalker-Dameron-Tico (i SAID what i SAID.) AIGHT so for starters, a lot of my favorite characters in different franchises fall under various archetypes I have for faves. Obi Wan fits one of my more popular ones: “Old, reluctant and more than slightly-questionable parental badass with a mysterious past that makes you love them all the more when you realize just how beautiful and tragic and deserving-better they were when that past is revealed”. I latched onto this dude from the start when I just liked the OT (tho Leia was always my fave lol), and I wanted to know about him, and then when I finally started getting into the PT and TCW, it was just a steady stream of “oh no he’s hOT?” “oh no he’s sAD?” “oh no he’s nICE?!? REALLY FUCKING NICE AND A BIT OF A MESS HELP” and then I just totally latched on because he’s hypercompetent at literally everything and looks damn good doing it and boy do I have a thing for competence, charming as all hell and goes through so much and comes out strong despite the fact that fate hates his fucking guts and tries to destroy his life constantly and guys he tries so hard and he’s kind of messy sometimes and a bit of a dick and I love him all the more for it because he’s trying, none of that do-or-do-not shit, he is doing his damn best and deserves happiness and not Anakin tearing him apart. SPEAKING OF SAND MAN. Ugh, so I love Anakin to fucking death and that makes me REALLY MAD ABOUT IT BECAUSE HE MAKES EVERYONE ELSE I LIKE SAD. So I love Anakin regardless because he’s not your typical protagonist. He’s fucking brilliant, hot when he fights, is amazing at fighting and flying and building stuff and there’s that competence thing for me again, oh boy! He’s funny and kind and he cares. And somehow, this bitch manages to have the two most beautiful, amazing people in the galaxy in love with him and willing to do basically anything for him like the fuck?!? Jealous much??!?!?!?! I am!!!! He’s so fucking bright and it’s impossible to look away. He’s also a dorky, messy disaster who’s not good with people or feelings or emotions and he panics over stuff and doesn’t know self-control and is kinda really bad at his job a lot and pushes away the people who care about him and screws up literally all the fucking time and he always feels like he’s drowning and alone and I get to watch him crash and burn under the weight of it all. Basically, minus the anger issues and the child murder and the murder in general, I kinda relate a lot to Anakin. I feel like a self-hating mess who doesn’t know how to control my ow head and the world hates me a lot too. I can project my mental issues onto him, enjoy the good parts of him, live vicariously through the things he does that I can’t like be loved by pretty people and be hot and athletic and smart, and then when he crashes I can side-eye and remember that at least someone’s doing worse than me lol. So yea, I love this messy boi to death and he’s the one I get the best characterization reviews on, so I guess we have an understanding. Leia I loved since as a kid. I’d want to be her, brave, talented, smart, strong as hell and snarky to boot. I realize that Leia fits another fave character archetype of mine: “Powerful young adult raised for greatness, did not ask for all the horrible shit that’s happened to them, highkey wants a break and for the bad guys to just roll over and die, is generally clever, hypercompetent, and 100% done with everyone else’s shit, overdramatic as all hell and enjoys insulting people”. Her and Han were my first Star Wars ship and she just always made me happy seeing her kick names and take ass. She’s gone through almost as much hell or maybe more so than Obi Wan, she also keeps getting back up and fighting, she deserved SO MUCH BETTER than what the Sequel Trilogy gave her and you may quote me on that. She’s also gorgeous and I wanted to wear all of her clothes (bikini not included). I also love her relationship with Luke and I am so goddam happy it is now canon that Leia Organa did Jedi training and can use a lightsaber!!! She has a lightsaber!!!!!!!!!! Ugh oof I love her. Kanan fills the similar “mentor” archetype as Obi Wan does, but with a smidge of youth because he’s younger when he gets dropped into this role. He’s more of a punk, more of a mess, and oof. Basically I’ve said it a zillion times how Rebels resparked my love of Star Wars, but really, it was Kanan on the screen that did it. It happened when the Rebels season 3 premiere eps ended up on the TV and I saw it and I thought in order 1. holy shit that Maul fucker’s actually alive? and 2. Oh no sad blind Jedi man! He’s cool and mysterious and I want to know why he’s sad and who made him sad and also want to give him a hug!!! He was my fave character all throughout Rebels and his training dynamic with Ezra, struggling to help this kid all while flying by the seat of his pants because he had Issues and no clue what he was doing and no support and ugh, he was smart and brave and I’m so sad he’s dead and yea. Finn!!!! Last but not least!!!! He was my favorite character from The Force Awakens. People have said it before, but he was just so new, a rebel Stormtrooper stolen and brainwashed at birth, finding the good guys and fighting to do the right thing! Possibly Force Sensitive! Super duper cute!!! Funny and kind, dammit, when not many other people in the galaxy were!!!!!!!! I was so, so sure Finn was gonna be a Jedi along with Rey at some point, that might have been my biggest letdown when I saw TLJ, but ugh I just loved his enthusiasm and his war within himself, ultimately loving his friends and trying to do what was right at the risk to his own safety, even though that was why he ran scared in the first place!!!!! I shipped him with Rey and with Poe and now I am NOT above the post TROS Jedistormpilot shipping!!!!! Finn was just always the most interesting part of the Sequel Trilogy for me and I personally feel like they could have done more with his character.

FAVE ACTOR/ACTRESS: Aight, so I try my best not to “stan” anyone famous because literally no one is perfect and everyone’s done something problematic at some point and if I dare say I like a famous figure, someone’s gonna find something about them and come after me all “OMG THIS PERSON DID/SAID/IS X YOU MONSTER GO DIE!!11!!1″. In terms of performance, I think all the actors in Star Wars did a lovely job and I’m happy with all of them! If I had to crush on any, it would probs be Ewan McGregor, John Boyega, or Diego Luna cuz, uh, they hot. If I had to pick one I liked most, it would honestly probs be Carrie Fisher. Maybe that’s just partially from missing her now that she’s gone, but I really admire her advocacy and transparence for mental health, and she just seemed like such a funny, kind, strong person.

FAVE PLANET: Aight, this is HARD and I refuse to only pick one planet! Ok, gonna start off with Coruscant because an endless city planet made up of lights is amazingly gorgeous and it has a Jedi Temple stacked on top of a Sith Temple and is just so cool aaaaa. Also love Felucia just for being so bright and colorful and pretty. Mortis for being just as weirdly gorgeous and also Weird Force Shit. Lothal for the beautiful mountains, the wolves, and the fucking lightspeed center of the planet passage what, Dathomir is delightfully creepy to look at, Crait is really cool with the salt and the red and the ice foxes, Kashyyyk because Wookiees and it’s pretty and I love their treehouses. Basically if it makes me clap my dumb monkey hands and go “oooh pretty!”, I love it. The more “not like Earth” it is, the more I love it.

FAVE SPECIES: Hmmmmm, this is a tough one……. There’s just so many cool-looking species that we know so little about, ya know? I wanna say either Togrutas or Wookiees. Togrutas just because the character design is incredible and so fun to work with and also I love Ahsoka, and Wookiees because they have such an interesting culture and backstory and also I want to give Chewbacca a hug.

FAVE CONCEPT: Uhhh, not quite sure I get the question; you mean like just story concept in general? If that’s it, I’m gonna have to go with just the whole concept of the Force and the Jedi in general. I mean George, George my man, what the fuck? How the hell did you come up with this?!? Mystical psychic space wizards with magic abilities to connect with and use the sentient godlike life force that combined the entire galaxy together. Oh and also they have COLORFUL GLOWING LASER SWORDS?!?!? It’s honestly one of the most creative things I’ve seen in popular culture, and that makes me sad that Star Wars now seems to be trying to separate itself from what I think is its most interesting quality because “ugh not EVERYTHING should be about the Jedi guys!”, when like, y’all, without the Jedi, the entire SW universe is basically just another military scifi war story…… Just my opinion tho.

FAVE SHIP: Ok, since pairing was already up there, I assume this means actual ship? Well, uh, gonna have to be square with y’all, I’m a bad Star Wars fan for this part; I’ve never been the one to memorize ship names and designs and know the exact make and model number of some fancy ship, I’m real bad at that lol. I’ll say my favorite ship is the Ghost. Hera flies it and the Rebels Fam lives on it and it’s super cool and it makes me happy!

FAVE WEAPON: LIGHTSABER. LIGHTSABER LIGHTSABER. LIGHTSABERLIGHTSABERLIGHTSABERLIGHTSABERLIGHTSABER. Y’all, c’mon, what did you think I was gonna pick? xD Lizard brain want glowy shiny colorful big stick that goes whoosh!

FAVE BACKGROUND EXTRA: Again, not entirely sure what this means, but do you mean fave background character? If so, then it’s a tie between Wilrow Hood and his ice cream machine for the memes, that one clone in TCW who yeets a plate of toast at Cad Bane’s face, or that one background soldier who scoots between Han and Leia arguing in ESB and also Hera and Kanan arguing in Rebels (yes I do headcanon it’s the same guy lol)

FAVE MOMENT/SCENE: This one’s actually pretty easy. Anakin dying in Luke’s arms in ROTJ, and then his ghost showing up to Luke later at the Ewok party. I just care so ridiculously much about stupid Anakin and his stupid story and mistakes, and even before I was a prequels stan and had only seen the OT (and wasn’t a huge Vader fan, believe it or not), some part of me just felt so solemn, so fragile watching this, watching the giant monstrous machine falling apart as he fades away to reveal a weary, tired old human man, and it always made me wonder, what the hell happened to him to turn him into that thing? Seeing that young, beautiful man, basically Luke’s age, showing up as a ghost later, just the fascination, the tender look he shared with Old Ben, just how young he was, that made it all the more mysterious and knowing what I do now, it’s just so much better because my poor, horrible Disaster Man finally did the right thing and he finally found peace and it’s just the only ending I could be happy for Anakin with, And Luke, I always felt so bad for Luke, being so strong, so brave, finally getting his father back for like five damn minutes and then having to lose him again and just hurting for him but also knowing that it was gonna be okay because Luke had more family now, the ghosts, and Han and Leia and Chewie and R2 and 3PO and Lando and everyone.

FAVE KISS: Luke and Leia (HANG ON LET ME SPEAK) forehead kiss in The Last Jedi. I know (this one) isn’t meant as romantic, and I know the question is probs about a romantic one and I know that it’s not even a real mouth kiss. But. That Luke and Leia scene was my favorite part of the entire movie. Again, I was missing Carrie a lot, and ugh, after all these years, after not getting to interact the entire previous movie and not at all during this movie, the ONE scene with Carrie and Mark and the pure emotion of it all just knocked me out of my fucking seat. You could see how connected they were as siblings, how much Leia had missed Luke, how much he had missed her and how sorry he was for leaving, sorry for Ben, sorry for having to leave her again now, Leia knowing Luke was about to die, and just, acceptance. Love and acceptance. It was just a final, tender kiss on the forehead, and it was perfect and yeah. If I do have to pick a romantic lip smooch, it’s probably the Hanleia classic “scoundrel” kiss in Empire Strikes Back. I still remember watching ESB the first time as a KID and being all eeeeeeee are they gonna– YES they kissed they kissed they kissed finally! and that’s enough for me.

FAVE FIGHT: Obi Wan and Anakin on Mustafar in Revenge of the Sith. WIthout question. It’s brilliantly and precisely choreographed to show the intricate nuances of the Obikin breakup in alllllll of its painful glory. It breaks my heart every time I watch it because every time I watch it I still hope it’s gonna end differently. That Anakin realizes he can’t kill Obi Wan and ditches Sidious and goes back with Obi Wan to save Padmé. That Obi Wan realizes he can’t let Anakin die and saves him from burning and from Sidious and takes him back too. That Obi Wan at least puts Anakin out of his misery which would be godawful painful, but would save him from the horrid life as Vader. That while they’re fighting, a lava monster appears like in the concept art and Vader and Obi Wan have to put aside their differences and fight the thing and remember how much they mean to each other. But ugh, this fight was beautifully choreographed and was originally supposed to be a MULTI-MINUTE SINGLE SHOT WHAT THE HELL??? Oooof Hayden and Ewan did such an amazing job and the whole thing just rips my heart out every time in the bestworst way possible

FAVE LINE OF DIALOGUE: Now THIS is hard, I’m not the best at picking favorite lines. Hmmm, this is HARD. Let me think. Gahhhh, it’s hard because I have so many lines I like and I can’t even just narrow down a couple!!! Ultimately, it’s probably gonna be Yoda’s monologue from Empire Strikes Back: “Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter…” Just that entire line saying how basically all of us are more than the sum of our parts, that everyone is their own sparkling light made of stardust, I loved it as a kid and I love it now.

Modaozushi Fanfic Recommendation.

Since I can’t get enough of this novel, might as well pampering/hurting my self more with an outstanding fanfic/canon divergence of this great book. Even the live action and the anime version still nor gonna stop me from these beautiful handmade story by all the fans of Modaozushi.

in another world, ncis:la feeds us with actual Au episodes every now and again, but our world is imperfect and we just have to imagine this stuff here, but like, if this did happen i would Require these au’s;

A Bowling Au. Everything is played with exactly the same tone as the actual show, so it’s usually laughable but Sometimes super dramatic except instead of like, a terrorist attack, a rival team bowled a strike. Sam used to be on a super militant and well respected team and hasn’t gotten over that half the time people don’t know the name of this new one. He believes bowling balls should be polished before repacking, Every time, that Deeks just shoves his in the same reusable plastic bag he’s had for 8 years Pains him. G’s back story is Identical to the show except this isn’t a spy genre anymore so ppl just think he’s like, the super above it all edge lord because of it all.

Teacher AU. Sam teaches all kinds of advanced math, G is a gym teacher who acts really stupid all the time to stop people giving him responsibilities he doesn’t want. Despite this, he is often dragged in to cover for language classes because somebody figured out he’s a language like, genius or something. He covered a drama class one time, too, and was scarily good at it. Deeks actually Is the drama teacher, the kids all Love him. Kensi teaches all kinds of physical design classes, like, anything to do with engines, she does woodwork, things like that, she’s not As liked among the student body (i mean, the boys and gays love her, but her jokes are Weird) but she isn’t classed as one of the asshole teachers. Eric teaches IT or whatever u call computing, he’s friendly, won’t put up with crap, but like, next to nobody understands him because he’s not good at dumbing things down. Nell doesn’t teach at first, was just an administrator dealing with all the complicated things, but sometimes substitutes, she’s tiny and Scary and is not a substitute u can walk all over, the ones who tried can’t figure out How she got them to behave??? but it happened. Mr Deeks and Ms Blye are the ‘will they or won’t they’ teacher couple of the school only for deeks to accidentally let slip that his wife is better at long distance running than he is and they all work it out that they’ve been married the whole time. Mr Beale and Miss Jones become the next will they won’t they couple except it embarrasses them so much all they do is blush at each other now. Hetty is the principal/head teacher. She is rarely seen, to be feared, but always watching.

Star Trek AU; Hetty is the captain of the ship they’re on, but the show is more about the main away team. Is the team’s reputation as bad as section 31 (the shady(tm) part of starfleet), No! Is their reputation necessarily good? No. In fact, they frequently butt heads with section 31 (we’re calling them the equivalent of the cia in the show, they can be friends but... yeah), however their results are rarely questionable and they save many, many lives. It is highly unlikely anyone will ever be promoted. Sam is a Vulcan, calm waters... except if you make him snap, Vulcans have deep running emotions. Deeks is just. The Most Obnoxious Human to him Ever. G is half betazed, it’s why he’s so good at reading people. Eric is a member of a species that is super social but have few social graces similar to humans so is always super awkward. Kensi has a tragic backstory where she thinks the borg got her dad when she was a kid but it was a Cover Up. I would make Nell non human also, but i will be honest, i am running out of trek aliens i can make her (klingon nell is a Hilarious concept tho). Hetty is Bajoran.

James Bond AU. Everything is the same except they all use bad english accents the whole way through the episode.

I am a massive fan of alternate takes on soulmate au’s, i don’t like romantic soulmate au’s, but unusual takes on them are my Jam. In this one, people have soul marks from people who will have the most profound effects on them in their lives on their bodies. This doesn’t necessarily mean the effects will be good, just profound and altering. The team realise they all have marks from each other on their bodies, and are elated to find out all those marks are Positive effects.

Though i will admit the ‘see in colour when you meet your soulmate’ one would be hilarious with legitimately Any of the partners on the show. Kensi: See’s deeks, learns what blue is. Kensi: spirals into deep denial and yells at him a lot.

Queer Eye AU where the Fab 5 are called in when Hetty nominates her team for a makeover! Bobby redecorates the boat shed, is asked by hetty to keep what is already bulletproof, bulletproof. And to keep the trap door. And not to worry about any bloodstains and how they got there. Tan’s discovers how hard it is to style around Sam’s muscles. Tries very hard to stop Nell from mixing prints. Experiences horror at Eric’s wardrobe, Nell is shown in BG laughing. Every single man exhibits true, actual horror at the idea of JVN changing their hair and pack into Sam’s car and run away to hide in the woods. Nell and Kensi enjoy the salon appointment in their absence. Karamo manages to negotiate getting paid literally twice his previous rate by just having to try to fix these idiots’ lives and deserves every penny. Antoni trying to teach them to make fun and not disgusting food doesn’t end well. Deeks can cook but likes to Experiment and 97% of his food is awful. Sam can cook, but it’s all bland muscle building/health food. The rest of them are incompetent, set the kitchen on fire, are caught ordering chinese on the sly, ruin 5 pots and pans with burn marks. They open the new boatshed design by interrogating a criminal they just picked up on a case, he points out how fabulous the decor is as he’s led to the interrogation room. Everybody cheers. The team provided snacks in said interrogation Could be considered a torture technique, tho.

The team go on jeopardy. I have never seen this game show and have no idea how it works, but i bet it would be funny so it is a bullet point.

Buffy the vampire slayer au, Kensi is a vampire slayer who Happens to just be an ncis agent. She does her normal job but also tries to keep the vampire world a secret from her team mates. Callen: uh, kensi... why do you spend so much of your free time hanging around cemeteries? Kensi: uh... Bat watching???

Superhero AU but they all have really dumb powers. Sam can raise the temperature of any body of water from a lake to a puddle by ten degrees in temperature whenever he wants. G can spontaneously grow and un-grow his hair, if he gets drunk and makes it super long he has ringlets. Deeks can hover exactly one foot in the air, no higher, is designated ‘grab that off the high shelf’ guy. Kensi can sense sugar. This helps in no ways but essentially makes her a human version of one of the medical alert dogs for diabetics. Eric can make anybody around him mildly sleepy if he wants to. He never wants this. It doesn’t even send them to sleep, they just yawn more often and that makes Him yawn more. Nell can speak to cows, since she lives in the middle of Los Angeles, this is not helpful. REEEEEE! The blast of Coach Kim’s whistle sends adrenaline pumping through your veins and you dive off the edge of the pool, letting the cold water envelop you before you surface. Your legs are pressed together as you raise both arms simultaneously and let their force push you forward before kicking, kicking– arms, kick, kick, kick, arms, kick, kick, kick, arms, kick, kick, kick… you set a steady rhythm, sneaking a breath with every stroke, and your strong legs propel you to the end of the pool. Without missing a beat you duck, twist, and push off from the wall in the opposite direction, moving so quickly in the water you almost want to laugh.

Too soon, you reach the end of the pool once more, the slap of your hand on the cement signaling your coach to stop the timer.

“Fifty fly… nice! N/n, that’s 0.8 seconds off your best!”

“Yes!” you grin crazily, your heartbeat loud in your ears.

“Keep this up and you’ll be a shoe-in for regionals,” Coach Kim tells you. “Girls’ fly is gonna be one of the toughest races this season, but I think you’ve got the chops for it.”

“Thanks, Coach!” Even in the cold air of morning practice, your cheeks warm at the praise.

“Psh… girls’ fly is a fake competition,” Hobi, one of the guys on your team, says as he puts on his goggles. “Like whiffle ball. Or Ultimate Frisbee.”

“Put your money where your mouth is,” you fire back, hoisting yourself out of the pool. A bunch of the guys on your team are obnoxious, sure, but Hobi is a special breed of asshole.

“I’ll put something else where my mouth is,” he replies, winking.

You smile sweetly as you mime breaking his neck, and Hobi laughs. “Feisty today, aren’t you?”

“You know, Hobi, my favorite part of practice is when you’re under water.”

“Is that so?” “Mmhmm. ‘Cause I don’t have to listen to your voice, and I can entertain the prospect of you drowning.”

“Too bad for you– given that I’m a real swimmer, that’s not gonna happen anytime soon, is it?”

“I’m a real swimmer too, dickhead!”

“You haven’t proven that yet,” Hobi says with a smirk, and you open your mouth to fire back a scathing reply, but–

“Hobi! Chimmy! Yoongs! You’re up– anyone else want to try for the guys’ fifty free?”

You wrinkle your nose. You’re faster than Chimmy and Yoongs for sure, and to always separate by gender is a constant thorn in your side. You want to race against the best in the league, not just the best girls.

Bored, you watch the guys jump into the water, separated in three lanes. You hate ranking day, when just before a match Coach Kim races swimmers to decide who’s the best in each category. It only means you spend most of your time outside the pool, and at six in the morning such a setting is really not ideal.

“On my mark– if I see any of you grabbing the lane line, you’re out of the water for the rest of practice– Go!”

Immediately the three boys push off the wall– Hobi easily outpaces the other two, his strong scissor kicks splashing you as he passes.

“Hey!” That had better not have been intentional. You can see Hobi’s strong back muscles working as he turns his head to breathe.

Why do literally the worst people have the nicest bodies? You’re pretty sure that’s not fair. Asshole that he is, you can’t help but stare at Hobi when he swims backstroke– unlike his personality, his abs are nothing to laugh at.

“Well done, guys!” Coach Kim says enthusiastically when all three finish their lap. “Hobi, you sheared 0.3 seconds off your best– at this rate, you’re gonna be number one in the league. Yoongs, Chimmy, you’re brilliant endurance swimmers– work on your speed, okay? Keep it up.”

“Yes, Coach!”

“That’s ranking done for today,” Coach Kim says, glancing around. “The match is next week, so here’s what I’m thinking so far. Girls’ fifty fly, n/n. Boys’ fifty free, Hobi. Girls’ two hundred free–”

You tune him out as soon as you hear your nickname. Yes!

“Now to celebrate– one thousand meters’ cooldown. Your choice of stroke.”

The team collectively groans and you join in– a forty-lap cooldown? Well, you’ve had worse. You jump into the water and start moving to stay warm, choosing to swim breaststroke for the sake of going easy on your poor level of endurance. Even with the flurry of movement around you, you feel calm, collected, peaceful. The feeling of the water surrounding and caressing you is mesmerizing, and to your empty mind suddenly springs–

Awash in beauty, the tears of the Earth Fall upon the faraway stars in vain A weakened heart celebrates its weak birth The twins from days of old cry out for rain.

You grin underwater– with the goggles and swim cap, you surely look rather alien, but you don’t care. That’s a good stanza; you’ll have to remember it so you can share it with the others.

“N/n! N/n!” Yoongs calls out as you leave the girls’ locker room after practice. Coach Kim is standing nearby, talking to some parents.

“Hey– what’s up?”

“Do you…” Yoongs looks down, his pale cheeks reddening. “Do you wanna share names?”

Your eyes widen and your gaze darts to the coach. “We can’t– you know that. It’s against the rules. Coach doesn’t want distractions.”

“I-I know, but…”

You smile sadly. “I don’t think we’re soulmates, and the coach said no names. Sorry.”

“Yeah. I understand,” Yoongs says, eyes downcast. “Well, see you tomorrow.” “See ya.”

“Rejected,” you hear a sudden cackle behind you, and you jump.

“Jesus!”

“Aww, did I scare you?” Hobi asks with a fake pouty face.

“Yes– you’re wearing some sort of horrible mask.” You make a show of poking his cheek.

“Very funny. Was Yoongs asking to share names?”

“Why do you care?” you ask, affronted.

“Just the fact that he has to ask– what, you think it’s fine to require nicknames?”

“For sports?” You roll your eyes. “Of course. What if you were about to race and you found out your opponent was your soulmate?”

“But what if our soulmates were on our team?” Hobi steps closer. “What would you do if you found out I was your soulmate?”

“I’d dropkick you off the nearest diving board,” you inform him dryly. “Now leave me alone, cause I’m mighty tempted to make that a reality.”

“Fuck you too, n/n.”

You blow him your most sarcastic kiss before turning around, making sure to step on his foot on your way. You’re wearing flip-flops, so the only effect is your own increased satisfaction. You want to go home, write down that stanza, and talk to your friends.

In a world where soulmates need each others’ names and faces to connect, it’s stylish to walk around with a name tag in the hopes you might catch your soulmate’s eye. You’ve never adhered to that practice, instead retreating to the last anonymous corner of society– the Internet.

Plopping down, you open your laptop and log into the chat.

Ever since I met the Dolan twins my life changed drastically. No, I didn't get rich and I definitely didn't become an overnight Internet sensation, in fact, no one even knew I was friends with them. They love their fans but they are aware they tend to go a bit overboard when a girl is even mentioned in the same sentence as them. I understand. Honestly, I don't even mind. I'm just glad I get to have them in my life.

This is probably the only time in my life that my clumsiness worked in my favor. Even tho' it's rather mortifying to admit, I managed to walk into a tree and fall straight on my but. It's embarrassing and it makes me sound stupid, but I wasn't really paying attention where I was going and BAM I found myself in a world of pain I didn't really care about since I was hoping the ground would just open up and swallow me whole.

It didn't happen of course, but it did get the attention of two guys that made Apollo look like a zero. I'd be lying if I said I didn't know about them because I spent every Tuesday for the past two years watching them, but I didn't want to come off like crazy so I tried to play it cool. They helped me up and soon enough we got to talking. Eventually we exchanged contact info because I managed to impress them by not asking for a picture and choosing to just talk and get to know them a bit better.

It wasn't easy since I really just wanted to scream and jump on their backs and never detach myself from them on one hand, but on the other my shy nature held me back and initially all I could do was either stare at the floor while I rambled or just look at them in awe. Whatever it was, they chose to keep in touch and actually hang out.

More time I spent with them I was more relaxed and open with the guys and they opened up as well. Ethan became my best friend and we'd often just crank up the volume and dance like crazy to music or just munch on pancakes. I told him everything...well, almost everything. I never told him how his brother made me feel. Honestly I liked Grayson even before we met, but I really fell for him more and more as time passed by.

Unfortunately, he didn't seem to feel the same way about me. That's how I found myself alone on a balcony at midnight. We were at a party and Grayson was flirting big time with some girl. He even used his stupid pick up lines that were actually pretty darn good and she was eating it all up.

I wanted to be happy for him, I did, but with each smile he sent her way I felt like he drove a knife through my heart. I couldn't watch it any longer, so that's why I'm here. Alone, shaking in the cold because I was wearing a lacy green dress (hoping he'd notice since green Is his favorite color) feeling like the world's biggest idiot.

I somehow let myself believe that him showing up at my house at 2 am to go for a ride and watch the stars was a sign he might feel the same. I let myself believe that him bringing me pads, painkillers, chocolate and pizza when I had my period actually ment he wanted something more. I hoped his persistence in keeping me on a gluten free diet because it helps lower my antibodies and relieves symptoms of my autoimmune disease was a sign he cared on a different level. I felt stupid.

"Hey, what are you doing here alone?" Ethan asked with a gentle, soothing tone he used whenever he got worried about me.

He put his leather jacket around me and pulled me into a hug. I couldn't even speak, afraid I'd break so I just leaned into him.

"I know you're in love with Grayson (Y/N)." He said making my heart skip a beat. I pulled away to look him into the eyes.

"How?"

"He's my brother and you're my best friend. I see the way you look at him. I just can't figure out why. Why him? "

"Ever since I was a little girl I believed in the idea of soulmates Ethan. I believed there was someone out there made just for me. But as time passed my hope withered. I went through 20 years of my life never once falling for anyone, never having a boyfriend, never even holding hands with a guy let alone kiss one. No one gave me that feeling till I met him. When we met I felt as if tho’ the sun finally shone through the clouds that had loomed over my head. I felt like I could finally breath. The colors seemed brighter, the birds chirped a little louder. Grayson got me to do things I never thought I'd ever do like surfing and cliff diving. I tried skateboarding because of him even if it didn't end well."

We both laughed remembering the day I ended up in the E.R. because I fell off the skateboard faster than I got on it. Not only did I need stitches, I also had a hairline fracture of my left wrist. It wasn’t funny to Grayson because he was freaking out big time, but Ethan and I couldn’t stop laughing that day. A normal person would cry at the very least, but I was the type that laughed in serious situations, even at funerals, and combining that with the adrenaline..Well you get the point.

“When I look at his eyes I see my whole damn future flashing by. I can see us all living on a ranch with two houses right next to each other. He’d make me a porch swing and a bay window because I love to read. We’d all have breakfast together each morning. I can see us having kids...he’d be such a good father and you’d be the world’s wackiest uncle. I’d have to sacrifice my love for dogs and cats and everything fluffy, but I’d do it in a heartbeat. He’s worth it.

My safe place is in his arms. My future is in his eyes. My heart in his hands.

E., he made my soul come alive. I became more confident, my anxiety got better, he brought adventure into my life, friendship I never had. And happiness. So much happiness. I mean I could literally go on all night on all the reasons why I love him, but it doesn’t change the fact that he doesn’t feel the same way.” I finish with defeated sigh.

Ethan seemed to be thinking a bit, almost shocked by this proclamation of love I just made.

“(Y/N), you should tell him.” He says with the most serious look he ever gave me.

“I know you’re not joking which makes me wonder if you’re insane?! I can’t tell him E.!”

“Why the hell not?” He questions.

“If I say something and it turns out I’m right I’ll lose him. I’d rather be his friend than nothing!”

“A) You wouldn’t lose him, he’s not gonna let you walk out of his life because of that.

B) He’d be an idiot if he rejected you because you’re the type of girl we call goals.

C) If you don’t say something, you most definitely will lose him and it will eat you up inside every day till the day you die. You’ll regret it and you know it! Because the kind of love you just described does not die and I don’t want you to spend the rest of your life wondering what your life could have been like if you’d been just a bit braver.”

I look at him and realize just how right he is. I hate to admit it, but he is. I have to go in there and try.

“I’m gonna do it”, I say, but my voice is shaky and clearly lacks the confidence.

“But you gotta come with me!” I add just as Ethan jumps up and does a fist pump.

He opens the door and practically shoves me back inside the party and keeps on pushing me to the area Grayson was.

Just as we get there I was met with a sight of that girl from before and Grayson making out. I felt physically sick.

“Told you.” I say in a flat tone of voice as numbness spreads across my body in as a defense mechanism that held me together like glue.

“(Y/N) I’m sorry, I really thought”, Ethan starts but I cut him off with a curt smile and just before I walk away I tell him:

“I think I’m done for tonight. I’ll see you guys later.”

every night would be a different tale of soulmates finding each other through all sorts of various ways

you had heard them all, and even heard some repeats along the way

that was all they became to you, though

even though the idea of soulmates made you incredibly happy

to you, they were nothing more than a work of fiction

after all, there was no way to know who that one person is that is meant to be with you

your friends growing up did their best to try and convince you that soulmates were real

sometimes they would show you the writing on their bodies, or the changing colors of their eyes of hair

however, you were not going to budge

whatever they showed you, you refuted

you thought they probably wrote those things themselves with pen, or used hair dye or contacts to try and convince you that they had soulmate markers

you were convinced that they were making it all up

even as you grew older and your friends began to find their “soulmates” you doubted it

there was still that part of you that believed that they were just bedtime stories

not a thing could convince you otherwise

that was, until you met him

Jongdae was, in a word, a hopeless romantic

his parents had also raised him with stories of soulmates meeting in different ways

he loved the idea of having a soulmate

having someone to love for the rest of his life?

when he became an idol, it became that much more difficult

with a busy schedule that made him move around so often, he rarely had time to search

but, that hope in his heart never once faded

he continued to believe that one day, he would meet his soulmate

you had just been cast as one of the leads in a new musical

you were overjoyed when you got the part, knowing that this would be a huge boost to your career

you had heard that the other lead was another big name idol, someone you hadn’t heard of

you were told by some of the other cast members that his group was amazing and that you were insane for not hearing of them

you were like “i got better things to do with my life tho”

Jongdae was overjoyed when he found out that he got cast in the show

he thoroughly enjoyed being on stage, and this was just another way of showcasing it

he had to miss the first few rehearsals because of schedules for the group

but, even so, he rehearsed on his own to make sure that he was prepared for when he would arrive

you, on the other hand, were already not a fan of him

you believed that it was unprofessional to miss rehearsals for whatever reason

so naturally, when you walked into rehearsal one day and heard that he was coming, you rolled your eyes

you didn’t like him already, and you were not about to let this “slacker” potentially destroy your career

while you were warming up and starting to go over your line, the door to the studio opened

an unfamiliar face walked in, and you knew it had to be him

your co-star

you silently admitted, he was pretty good looking

but he also missed quite a few rehearsals, and you were not about to forgive him for that

while the rest of the cast introduced themselves personally, one of your friends mentioned who you were

he smiled and introduced himself

all you could manage to give him was a blank face, a soft glare, and an acknowledging head nod before you walked away to rehearse in peace

“Are they okay? Was it something I did?” he asked the other cast members around him

“Well, not really. They’re just a bit pissed that you missed quite a few rehearsals,” one of them explained

“Its one of their biggest pet peeves,” someone added

“They wouldn’t believe us when we said that it was because you were busy finishing up promos from your last comeback,” your friend finished

Jongdae shook his head

you must be incredibly stubborn

but he was going to take it in stride

he was determined to show you that he was just as much a part of this as you were, and that he made sure to do his work while he was away

the director came in shortly after, and the rehearsal was underway

you, in all honesty, were completely floored

you had thought that with all the rehearsals that he’d missed that he would be extremely behind

you thought that he would drag the rest of the cast down with him

but...he wasn’t

he knew every line, every song, every bit of choreography that he had to know

naturally there were a few slip ups, but it was a rehearsal

he was, in a word, extraordinary

you didn’t want to let it show that he had proven you wrong, but as the rehearsal began to wrap up, you knew you had to

everyone was gathering their things and drinking some water, and you walked over to Jongdae

you tapped his shoulder and he turned around smiling, before his face dropped a bit

“I just wanted... to apologize. It wasn’t right of me to judge you so quickly. You clearly wanted to be here. I’m very sorry for being so rude,” you murmured, your eyes falling straight to the floor

you couldn’t see the smile, or hear the silent chuckle that came from him

“Its okay. I forgive you. I don’t blame you. I know that you had a reason behind it,” he told you.

your head shot up to look at him

“You-you’re serious? You aren’t mad?” you asked him

“Why should I be? You apologized, right?” he asked in return. “How about we start over. I’m Jongdae, but my stage name is Chen.”

he bowed slightly towards you, and you bowed in return

“I’m (Y/N). I don’t have a stage name...” you replied

the two of you chuckled lightheartedly, not even noticing that the rest of the cast had gathered to watch this encounter from across the room

that’s when silence overcame the room

because just as soon as the two of you had finished talking, something happened omg what

there was a bright, white light started to emit from both of your chests, right where your hearts rested

it was pure and beautiful, and truly something to witness

“what is this...what’s going on?” you asked out loud, having literally no idea why this was happening

“I think it means we’re soulmates,” Jongdae gasped, a smile growing on his face

“But...soulmate’s can’t be real, can they? I thought they were just something your parents made up as bedtime stories,” you questioned

he felt his heart sink a little bit

how could you not believe in soulmates?

“what if they are real? is that so impossible to think of?” he asked you gently

you could hear the rest of the cast swoon a little at his smooth recovery

“I always thought they were just stories, you know?” you confessed

“Sometimes, stories come true, if not always in the way that you expect them to,” he replied cue more swooning

you were in complete awe of how well he was taking this

naturally, on the inside, he was having a full meltdown, not really knowing how to process the fact that his soulmate didn’t even believe in the idea of having a soulmate

but he wasn’t about to let you know that

he held one of his hands out for you to take, a sympathetic smile on his face

you took it nervously, with no idea of what he was going to say

“If you are okay with it, I would like to take the time to show you,” he offered

“What do you mean?”

“I mean that even though you aren’t sure, I am determined to show you that soulmates are real. I will wait a thousand years for you if that’s what it takes.”

you were floored

here was this beautiful guy standing in front of you telling you that he was willing to wait for you to trust him with your heart

“I don’t know what to say...i’m a little nervous,” you replied.

“It’s okay. We’ll start slow. Whatever it takes, I’m willing to do,” he told you.

he brought your hand up to his lips and gently placed a kiss on your knuckles

you didn’t hear the squealing and the freaking out of your cast mates

you were to busy having your heart explode

“You’re going to have to be very patient with me...” you trailed off

“Like I said, I’m willing to wait a thousand - even a million years if that’s what it takes,” he reaffirmed.

“Lets maybe start with some coffee first,” you smiled at him

with your hands still connected, the two of you walked out of the studio, the sighs of adoration from your cast mates following you out

as promised, Jongdae kept true to his word

he was determined to make sure that you felt loved, and that you could trust him

even if you didn’t believe in soulmates before, you were beginning to see the truth to it

he made sure that you were always comfortable in any situation, and was dedicated to making you happy

even though there were some bumps along the way, he succeeded in showing you something truly beautiful

even if they may seem unrealistic, some stories can come true, just like yours

Like I said I love office aus and it’s like Welcome to Seventeen with a bit more drama and all of my favorite ships it’s just starting and it seems very promising! It makes me smile/laugh like a complete dork and I can’t wait to find out what happened between Seungkwan and Vernon….

Like the world they created was so unique and without having to explain a lot I was able to envision it. A bit angsty and it holds a very meaningful moral at the end of the day. I could go on and on about how amazing this fic is, but you'll know after you read it tbvh. Okay, I’m being a little biased but it's seriously a masterpiece of over 30k words!
