The Wizard Cowboy War (Wizboys VS Cowards) continues on.
#Wizard#Fourfold soul#fitch#nobody#Digital art#Well! Kind of! This one is actually mixed media -the lines are traditionally done with ink#then scanned and coloured digitally. I like the look and the feel of this method a lot.#In case anyone out there was wondering what the original doodle the Cowboy Wizard Jousting comic was - it was this!#I had indended it to stay a sketchbook doodle but I kept thinking about it - and figured 'why not also use it to do an art experiment?'#The funny thing about using existing characters for this is that this isn't even that far off from what they actually are.#The original pitch for the setting of FFS was 'Cowboy Exorcists'. Which sort of just makes them Cowboy Wizards in a way.#Design wise all I really did here was give them sillier hats.#Fitch isn't boy enough for the boy to be more than a carry over from 'cowboy'#But our Nameless Nobody? Yeah. They earned that Coward Badge good and true.#I have a few more doodles from this (AU? I guess?) That I may post if I'm low energy this week.#I missed drawing these little fellas. I should budget my art time to draw them more often...

WAUGH its scary i need to do anatomy studies in general maybe#uhh havent commented on the gigi one. he was really easy to draw though lol. weirdly enough gigis style was close enough to my current one-#-that i didnt have any trouble whatsoever? and i think its the most accurate too but only because of the lineart styles being similar lol#ALSO NOT TO PLAY FAVORITES BUT FOOP ODYSSEUS IS MY FAVORITE#I LOVE HIMMM I LOVE HIS SILLY SHAPES HE LOOKS LIKE A WEIRD CAT KINDA. man, you know, nobody asked me, but I have such conflicting opinions on some of the fat falin art, where on one hand: it's always nice to see A Fat Body in fanart anywhere + it's being done in positive ways, for funsies and on the other hand, there is something so familiar about how you are automatically The Fat One if you are a woman simply standing next to a more petite woman, bc I've had a 0% hitrate in seeing people change Marcille's body type and keep Falin's, or change both of them. it's just Falin
#it gives me a negative feeling that I seldom/never get from seeing fat art which is rare#like she's not fat out of thin air For Fun And No Other Reason and she's not fat bc of context#(out of thin air being like just picking a character you like and changing their design just cuz. *sigh* thoughts on Nintendo's botw/totk timeline shenanigans and tomfoolery?
tbh. my maybe-unpopular opinion is that the timeline is only important when a game's place on the timeline seriously informs the way their narrative progresses. the problem is that before botw we almost NEVER got games where it didn't matter. it matters for skyward sword because it's the beginning, and it matters for tp/ww/alttp (and their respective sequels) because the choices the hero of time makes explicitly inform the narrative of those games in one way or another. it matters which timeline we're in for those games because these cycles we're seeing are close enough to oot's cycle that they're still feeling the effects of his choices. botw, however, takes place at minimum 10 thousand years after oot, so its place on the timeline actually functionally means nothing. botw is completely divorced from the hero of time & his story, so what he does is a nonissue in the context of botw link and zelda's story. thus, which timeline botw happens in is a nonissue. honestly I kind of liked the idea that it happened in all of them. i think there's a cool idea of inevitability that can be played with there. but the point is that the timeline exists to enhance and fill in the lore of games that need it, and botw/totk don't really need it because the devs finally realized they could make a game without the hero of time in it.
#i really do have a love-hate relationship with this timeline#because it's FASCINATING lore. genuinely. and i think it carries over the themes of certain games REALLY well#but i also think it's indicative of a trend in loz's writing that has REALLY annoyed me for a long time#which is this intense need to cling to oot#and on a certain level i get it. that was your most successful game probably ever. and it was an AMAZING game.#and i think there's definitely some corporate profit maximization tied up in this too--oot was an insane commercial success therefore you'r#not allowed to make new games we need you to just remake oot forever and ever#and that really annoys me because it makes certain games feel disjointed at best and barely-coherent at worst.#i think the best zelda games on the market are the ones where the devs were allowed to really push what they were working with#oot. majora. botw. hell i'd even put minish cap in there#these are games that don't quite follow what was the standard zelda gameplay at their time of release. they were experimental in some way#whether that be with graphics or puzzle mechanics or open-world or the gameplay premise in its entirety. there's something NEW there#and because the devs of those games were given that level of freedom the gameplay really enforces the narrative. everything feels complete#and designed to work together. as opposed to gameplay that feels disjointed or fights against story beats. you know??#so I think that the willingness to allow botw and totk to exist independently from the timeline is good at the very least from a developmen#standpoint because it implies a willingness to. stop making shitty oot remakes and let developers do something interesting.#and yes i do very much fear that the next 20 years of zelda will be shitty BOTW remakes now#in which botw link appears and undergoes the most insane character assassination youve ever seen in your life#but im trying to be optimistic here. if botw/totk can exist outside the timeline then we may no longer be stuck in the remake death loop#and i'm taking eow as a good sign (so far) that we're out of the death loop!! because that game looks NOTHING like botw or oot.#fingers crossed!!#anyway sorry for the game dev rant but tldr timeline good except when it's bad#asks#zelda analysis

#dragon age tag#i doubt that will see much use again..but who knows. vvv rambling below#weird game..the characters dialogue stuff and ending were good tho :')#i've played some of the first game but it kept crashing. i knew already despite knowing nothing that this guy was going to be my type#it doesnt feel right making video game art any more bc games like this end up feeling really personal - an experience that happened to me#if i design the main character a bit and fall in love then..that happened to me..i can't make Fan Art of that..only ive been through that..#like i cant make fanart of my dear companions in bg3 despite it having been a huge part of my heart in the last year#almost 1000 hours of playtime in something i can barely talk about bc it means too much.... lol#tons of ideas and conversations and extra thoughts and scenes and emotions about all the incredible times i've been through in bg3#and the maelstrom just rotates around intensely in my own heart forever...but that's ok too...that is so precious to me#but fortunately i already knew people that have played this game and talked/drew abt it recently so it was saved from that for me#sharing scribbly fanart on my Blog is a way to capture the feeling just after experiencing something so it has good points#witch hat atelier escapes that by not being a GAME. games are so immersive. but my wha art & feelings are incredibly immersive too#which makes it difficult sometimes now. i live a complicated and emotional life <3 i am not suited to fandom <3#my character ended up looking so much like oru without me realising that's what i was doing. Kind bearded fireball throwing gay mage. Hmm.#falling for a sad white hair memory trauma fellow that keeps you at a tragic distance. magical girl pearl?

I don't watch any magical girl shows and the only magical girl content I consume is entirely from ActuallyRea XD i thought it fair to make Pearl a magical girl in their magical girl universe!
She's a pretty powerful fighter, although she usually volunteers for cleanup duty and the such. Her broom has the ability where anything it sweeps over disappears and can be resummoned at a later time.
Robbie is named after the piglin Pearl has at Twinkly Trash, so here her lil, crystal companion, i think, i forgot what theyre called, he has lil piggy ears as well!

#Handsome Solas#“Well better go greet the commoners."#Lavellan holding the door ready to slam it into his face like Spongebob#the entire muffled argument with Varric was just them arguing back and forth about what work he had done#tldr: he looks great but he's too handsome#he lost a whole lot of character in his face with this game imo#part of his charm was that he was just this guy who was super passionate about the fade and history and spirits#that was what made him compelling/attractive even before the big reveal at the end - until trespasser he was just Solas to our character#he wasn't super handsome - don't get me wrong he's attractive but datv took some liberties to make him *more* attractive#and i feel like they made him wayyy too conventionally handsome in this game and he lost out because of it#*he* was attractive by himself - he didn't need the face lift#he had a really unique face and simple outfits to sell this 'apostate hobo' persona / before switching to the cool trespasser armour#but it was still *his* face and its his face in a game in which your own character kind of loses their own as head of the inquisition#and that mirrors Solas and to me making him so hot does his character a disservice? I like his DAI design way more#matt rhodes concept art is also great - really does him good <3#(visual design in DAI was the best in the series to me - gorgeous direction <3)#anyway drawing this made me laugh lmao#solas dragon age#solas#my art <3#dragon age#da fanart#dragon age fan art
