Thinking about a boy who used to dream, but stopped when his family restrained him into a cage made of fake gold.
His dream came back to him shaped as an energetic bright boy.
He knocked on the cage, and the fake gold melted.
Then he knocked on the other boy's chest, and, at every hit, one by one, his insecurities melted just like the fake gold.

Then the rain came

Summary
What is a Wizard to do when a very wet demon turns up on his doorstep?
Excerpt
The village of Whickber was the most wonderful place, or so it was said. The grass was always green, the sky was always blue, and the sun was always out.
The Great Fell, the kindest and goodest Wizard in all the lands, lived alone in his tower where he watched over the village.
He worked very hard to make sure nothing ever went wrong in Whickber.
Then the demon showed up.
He heard the demon before he saw him.
He heard the patter of something against his windows; the droplets bouncing on the ground outside.
He heard the yells of the villagers and a knock on his door.
The Great Fell peered out to see a demon on his doorstep; a very wet demon in dark glasses with a small rain cloud above his head. The demon had a shock of red hair, wore dark clothes, and had a scowl on his face.
The rain cloud followed him wherever he stood.
This would not do. This was a special place, a good place; it did not rain in Whickber.
The Great Fell stood on his doorstep and shooed the demon.
The demon pulled up a stool and did not move.
The rain continued.
The Great Fell did everything he could to rid his house of the demon. He yelled at it and spelled at it. The demon raised his eyebrows and shrugged. The demon did not budge.
The rain continued.

I swear sometimes kenstewy writers sprinkle the alternate universe fics with the highest quality yayo.
In any universe if kenstewy have chemistry and fun rapport, stewy hates Logan, kendall is struggling to break free from family & waystar expectations, and they deeply care about each other, I’m probably going to be hooked.
Exhibit A

Love, Dhes
Parker,
It's unfair how time with you feels so short. How the last 10 years have felt like no time at all. I like to think there are other versions of us out there, somewhere. Maybe in another timeline, another universe. I like to think we find each other no matter where we are or what we're doing. That we're together and happy and I get to love you in a dozen different lifetimes. That's what I hope, anyway. And I hope when this lifetime ends, we get to start over and do it all again. Because once just isn't enough. Not for me. Not with you.
I hope the next 10 years pass slower.
Love,
Dhes

i think the primary reason why K/S has such overwhelming appeal is and always shall be that it is, at its core, a soulmate bond that has to be forged. the only way a t'hy'la bond can manifest is through shared toil, hardships, and undying devotion; it must be given effort and put together piece by piece - but at the same time, by the nature of its creation, it alters all realities on a cosmic level, to the point that Kirk and Spock must meet in every universe.
t'hy'la is not spontaneous. it is not a soulmate mark, it doesn't spring to life at first sight or first touch or first word. it is destined - because it is chosen, time and time again. you cannot have one without the other

one of my FAVOURITE interactions is when aziraphale is possessing madam tracy, because when aziraphale sees crowley he says his name in the most loving, thankful and tender voice i have ever heard, communicating ten thousand words at once, the most important ones being i am so glad you're here.
and then crowley replies in a would-be casual voice "hey aziraphale! see you found a ride." but its so familiar, and immediately knowledgeable?? like crowley has just arrived but he already knows everything about the situation, and i love it so much because everyone else is still so behind, trying desperately to figure out what's going on. crowley and aziraphale though? they're there side by side knowing exactly what the other knows, no explanation or catching up required.
and then of course:
"nice dress, suits you"
"ahh! 🥰 this young man won't let us in"
"leave it to me"
the way they lean into each other??? the softness in aziraphale's voice as he says one little sentence knowing that he can count on crowley to fix it for him. and then crowley leaning and softly promising that he'll do this bit, don't even worry about it angel.
everything is just so reminiscent of an older couple who know each other inside and out, can always rely on each other, and can communicate their feelings and the situation with a half glance alone
