"A Ghanaian-English entrepreneur has designed an electric bike from the ground up that’s transforming short-range transportation in her home country, proving that problem-solving in Africa can be done in Africa, by Africans.
[Valerie Labi's] company, Wahu!, assembles each bike by hand, and they can travel up to 80 miles [128 kilometers] on a single charge. This means that a delivery rider for Glovo or Bolt can comfortably cover a whole day’s work without refueling.
Anyone who’s visited Accra, Ghana, in the dry season will remember the incredibly poor air quality. Poor roads mean that cars are stuck in second and third gears, and old cars traveling in second and third gears mean plenty of extra car exhaust.
Poor roads also mean exposed dirt, and exposed dirt means fine-grained dust. Combined with a lack of rain, the smog, dust, and car exhaust make the air in parts of the capital unfit for human health.
Wahu! bikes help alleviate all three of these problems, and despite her English nativity [Note: Super weird and unclear way to phrase it?] and education, the bikes were designed and manufactured in Spintex, Accra.
“By introducing electric bikes into Ghana’s transportation ecosystem, we’re not only providing a greener alternative but also offering speed and convenience,” Labi told The Mirror. “Our bikes are a testament to how service delivery can be seamlessly merged with environmental conservation.”
Valerie Labi is a true inspiration, and besides her transportation company, she got her start in the Ghanaian economy in sanitation. She holds a chieftaincy title as Gundugu Sabtanaa, given to her by the previous Chief of the Dagbon traditional area in the Northern Region of Ghana. She has three children, holds a double major in Economics and Sustainability from two separate universities, and has visited 59 countries.
Getting her start in Northern Ghana, she founded the social enterprise Sama Sama, a mobile toilet and sanitation company that now boasts 300,000 clients.
During her travels around the small, densely populated country, she also recognized that transportation was not only a problem, but offered real potential for eco-friendly solutions.
“It took us two years to effectively design a bike that we thought was fit for the African road, then we connected with Jumia and other delivery companies to get started,” she told The Mirror. “Currently, I have over 100 bikes in circulation and we give the bikes on a ‘work and pay’ basis directly to delivery riders.”
According to Labi, each driver pays about 300 Ghana cedis, or about $24.00, per week to use the bike, which can travel 24 miles per hour, and hold over 300 pounds of weight. The fat tires are supported by double-crown front/double-spring rear suspension.
The bikes are also guaranteed by the company’s proprietary anti-theft system of trackers. Only a single bike has been stolen, and it was quickly located and returned to the owner."

time to stop and think woah i love my little sister so much.. i saw her yesterday and she told me she broke up w her boyfriend of 6 months a couple days ago and we talked about it for a while (i think hes a dick, she thinks its not that bad, im probably just overprotective of her lol but whatever) and she mentioned that during the breakup he said she had done nothing wrong in the relationship and it was all on him, which it was, and i was just thinking like. "yeah obviously. youre the one person i know who has literally no flaws." like i thought about it for a sec and i cant think of a single trait of hers that i find annoying or that causes me problems or whatever. the only times ive ever found her to be like, a bit too harsh or moody or something is when shes responding aggressively to our mom, and having grown up w our mom i honestly cant blame her at all cause ik she can be really hard to bear with sometimes lol. but like. i dont think weve ever had a single fight in our lives yknow. its rare and precious to have someone so great in your family and im so glad she is there :)

Ykno as much as I enjoy being a tiny little wrecking ball that Always surprises ppl with how strong I am, I very much envy people who r bigger n taller who naturally grow muscle
I've earned my gains thru years of sheer stubbornness, & U can still barely see them 😭 what I wouldn't give to gain muscle as easily as some people do

1) what did Danny Ricc do?
2) wait he's small?
3) since when did you keep up with f1 stuff?
1) ride [be led around on] a horse in the Circuit of the Americas paddock
2) small for a F1 driver ; perfectly normal sized for a man (and good size for his small horse friend Horsey Mchorse !)
3) saw a friend reblog a photo of it and as the resident horse girl had to take action!!

I'm so fucking done with everything jfc
I'm short so I have to step into the bike lane to see past all the cars that are parked in the bike lane
And this time, I saw the bus juuust across the street from me. So I did what's reasonable and stepped back to the curb. Again, still in the FUCKING BIKE LANE, but directly on the curb. But the bus driver decides he has it out for me or fucking SOMETHING and swerves INTO THE BIKE LANE, AND ALMOST HITS ME. I am ONE step off the curb and have to step up so I don't get hit by the FUCKING BUS. The bus then swerves OUT of the bike lane, and to the bus stop. The driver never needed to be in the bike lane btw. I shouldn't have had to be in the fucking bike lane either but people like to park in the bike lane which makes it impossible for me to see traffic from the curb!
So now I have to walk out to see if traffic is coming from the far side of the bus. I do that. I see a car coming on the OPPOSITE SIDE of the road so I step back into the bike lane. I still can't see anything around the fucking bus, so step forward and peek my head out. I still don't see anything bc I'm short. There was actually a car coming on the opposite side of the road. I think "ok, this is fine. I can just wait next to the bus. No one in a small car is going to whip the corner". Lo and behold. A car whips around the corner where I can't see because I'm short, and makes the widest fucking turn known to man. I almost get hit by THAT car because I am stuck between the bus and the car on the opposite side of the street. I can't move forward because I'll get hit by the car going left. I can't go backward because I'll get hit by the car making a wide turn. I have my dog with me. This is not the closest I've been to being hit by a car on this corner because I can't see the traffic past any of the parked cars on this goddamn street and it's always loud on this corner due to its proximity to the highway. I BARELY DONT get hit by the turning car, and I'm free to cross the street. Fuck my life. I'm sure they think it's my fault. They should try to cross this goddamn street. There needs to be a fucking stoplight on this goddamn street. There are so many accidents on this goddamn street.

Jason‘s bike breaks on the way to a mission, and he doesn‘t have time to repair it, so he takes the bus.
He enters, passes the petrified driver the money and gets met with several sleep deprived gothamites staring at him. He‘s still wearing the helmet, his weapons are out. He‘s covered in grease and dirt and looks like he just crawled out of his grave (again).
Someone slowly, slowly takes their camera out and snaps a picture. It’s on the front page of the newspaper the next morning.
