Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, both book and movie. Something so Aemond about Coriolanus' grandiose, self-serving, i'm-better-than-everyone pov. Also, not a show/movie, but I would say the "Captive Prince" book trilogy has the "enemies to lovers" thrope dooown. Bird of paradise - Well, as the (former) leader of the Oak Family, I had great practice with concealing my own emotions. The only feelings I had truly shown for that cat was the irritation he had made me feel at every given moment. Sneaking into Penacony, having the gull to play tricks on the Bloodhounds, and still attempting to be innocent in front of me. Ahem- when it comes to the fondness I'd grow for him, I can still hide it well.

Bleeding heart - That's a bit... complicated. After my defeat of Penacony and being taken by Jade then subsequently freed, Vincent had approached me to speak about his dream. Even though it correlated to his deepest desires, he had said that there was something missing from it. That I hadn't been there, and he had known that it wasn't a dream from that. Perhaps I had feelings for him before, but that simple conversation had enlightened those feelings within me for him.

Lavender - Well, since Vincent is part cat, any lazy day involves him getting up at almost noon. Though I am able to wake them up if I leave the bed. They say it's because it always gets colder when I am not there. I'm not used to having free time to myself, so I don't really know what to do. Funnily enough, Vincent has observed that on lazy days I try to make myself busy. So, he has to force to stop. We prefer our lazy days to be spent together and staying inside, doing anything we want during the day. Then, ending it with cooking something together then turning in for the night.

8. ZHUZHI LANG: the moment he sees an animatronic moving he hides under the table and gives up. Dies night one.

7. SHA HUALING: survives the first night by sheer stubborness. Second night she tries to fight the animatronics. She gets to destroy the cupcake but Chica kills her.

6. YUE QINGYUAN: he listens to the instructions and survives three nights. The fourth night he tried to do it as perfect as possible, gets overwhelmed and dies by a heart attack.

2. MOSHANG: they don't have the protagonist halo, but again, sqh is great at multitasking and with mobei at his side he has more confidence in his skills. Would survive the five days.

1. BINGQIU / SHEN YUAN / LUO BINGHE: Protagonist halo lbh makes him impossible to kill + millenial sy who probably was a teen when fnaf got out. Both of them survives the five nights, if they're together they complete 20/20 mode and burn the place down when they finish. Sy infodumps and the animatronics are kind of afraid of lbh.

Rating all of the current audio rp ships I know of

(Tw: opinions I guess. If you’re really defense about ships then oh well 😭) by the way, this is in NO WAY dissing the creators, it’s just how I see the pair and why I like or dislike them.

- 1) Zaris (Zaros and Earis) from the Noble Trials from ZSakuva

This ship is so beautiful in every way imaginable, the way they pine for eachother so much, at the same time trying to honor their family hurts me so much. It’s so extremely complex and so heartbreaking, doomed yaoi done so well I fear. So nicely written, I have no complaints about them whatsoever.

- 2) DemonDoctor (Albus York and Mahatma) from Bastards Vs Zombies by GoodBoyAudios

The only reason this isn’t at the top is because this ship is newer to be honest, demondoctor is such a sweet pair, you can literally hear everytime they interact that they genuinely Like spending time with eachother, and you can tell the character development from Albus from episode 5, their always somehow together or at least mentions eachother. So excited to see more moments of them in the future.

- 3) Donthus (Dontis and Xanthus) From Xanthus’ series from ZSakuva

They’re a really cute pair, especially for Xanthus, we’ve only seen Xanthus with the bond, but how about without it? That’s we see in the Donthus ship, it may be considered a rare pair but their personalities just scream “I love you so bad but I can’t admit it” , I can’t explain this one as well since we didn’t get a lot of them, but they hold a special place on my heart lol

- 4) Alseth (I made that name up idk what their real ship name is) Alphonse and Seth from bittersweet, by Yuurivoice

I will always defend these two, after so much they’ve really stayed supportive of eachother and their basically soulmates. It’s only this low because I didn’t watch a lot of yuurivoice, and to be honest, I think it would be a bit better if we didn’t get a listener and just see them as two people in love. (My opinion though)

- 5) Cermond (Cervantes and Edmond) from Not in Front of the Dinner Darling by Escaped audios

Now, if we were talking about how I SEE Cermond before they were vampires, this would’ve been easily number 3. But in their canon version, we haven’t seen a lot of them. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVEEEEEE Cervantes and I mean I LOVE him. It’s just that on the surface they are toxic, you can kinda understand though since they are.. vampires and went through a lot. But it’s so sweet how they’ve stayed together for so long. It’ll probably be on a higher spot when the series progresses LOL

- 6) Warriorfaith (I made that up too) Albus and Faith from Bastard Warrior by GoodBoyAudios

Now, don’t come at me for this, I just don’t dig them that much. I love their dynamic and how their written, that’s why it isn’t super duper low. They are super lovely and sweet, but realistically, I can’t see them together. (Especially after that last episode..) its probably because I wasn’t obsessed with bastard warrior LOL

Now, this is the first one that I didn’t necessary like, their not badly written at all DONT get me wrong, I’m very used to slow burn so that could account for my feelings on that as well, they’re cute! -8) Stacy and Jean (yeah I don’t have a name for them) from New Orleans Rats by Escaped Audios

Explanation: I love them, Jinx is my fav and Ekko follows shortly behind. I only wish we got to see that scene where Ekko convinced her to keep living and join the fight was fully developed, I needed so much more of them fr. 😭

But then I watched Season 2 and HOLY SHIT, the things that it did for Viktor as a character astounded me. He quickly went from "Mid-But-Forgettable Twink" in my brain to "Arcane's Mechanic Christ", which is my funny way of saying how much I adore him now. Oh yeah, it also made me greatly understand the Jayvik hype, y'all fr won the day this episode came out. Jayvik shippers didn't just eat, they fucking feasted cause my god, they're so beyond platonic, romantic, and even marriage, they are LITERALLY time-destined soulmates.

CaitVi/VICait (Caitlyn/Vi)

Explanation: So much tension, so much banter, so much chemistry, I could rant about these two for hours. Yep, it's no surprised why they're labeled "Piltover's Finest", cause they certainly are. They have it all; from the Angst, to the Fluff, and the Smut (JayVi's superior for that though, in my opinion), these two have got it and I'm sure mostly all of it is well-written.

Some Important Things Of Note!

This doujinshi is a bilingual physical edition of my fanfic, Closest To My Heart, which I originally posted in English on AO3. The new Japanese translation of the fic is currently exclusive to this book.

The cover is drawn by the amazing and talented artist RIPTIDE, who also drew an 8-page comic based on a particular scene in the story. The original English version of the comic, as well as a newly created Japanese version are also included in the book.

Glad to comply! Here are my points about why Dipcifica is canon and endgame and everything:

1) Dipper and Pacifica are a walking "enemies to friends to lovers" trope. It literally started with Dipper saying to her face he doesn't like her, what's more clichè than that? When he said it, all I could hear was "We will definitely become a thing in the future".

And guess what? After a while, Dipper changed his mind: now he doesn't think Pacifica is the worst anymore. The next step is admitting she's great, asking her out and becoming a couple.

2) "Northwest Mansion Mystery" is basically a huge Dipcifica manifesto, thanks to the introduction of more tropes like:

the characters are put into nice suits

Pacifica fixes Dipper's clothes like a good wife

these two share an adventure together - which is universally something that would strengthen the bond between two people

their daring escape ends with a hug, given out of a sincere emotional reaction

the hug is followed by some cute awkwardness (especially from Pacifica's side)

Dipper and Pacifica share a heartfelt moment in which she reveals her insecurities, something we can be 99% sure she doesn't usually do. Also because... with whom can she share them? Her parents? Her supposed friends?

Dipper changes his mind about Pacifica after understanding her a bit more (which is always the interlude for the development of romantic feelings)

Pacifica finds the strength to do the right thing, only after Dipper sacrifices himself

the episode ends with them having fun together, laughing and enjoying their time. Also, it's implied they probably spent some time after the party to clean up the mess they made - so who knows? Maybe they shared some more time together and talked a lot more.

I mean... I've seen love stories start with less than that.

3) Dipper and Pacifica have another adventure together in Lost Legends. The formula is similar to Northwest Mansion Mystery: Pacifica has an issue (caused by her shitty parents), Dipper doesn't understand what her problem is, they share a heartfelt moment in which she reveals her weakness, Dipper tells all the right things, they hug, Pacifica does the right thing.

This is another way to reconfirm what the episode in the series already told us: these two have chemistry. They are meant to be. They are a walking enemies to friends to lovers trope - with a side dish of "slow burn" too. And we all love slow-burn stories <3

But this adventure shows us something else: how things have changed since Northwest Mansion Mystery and especially how Dipper's attitude has evolved towards Pacifica. In the episode, he is still very wary of her and makes it clear multiple times that he dislikes her.

Now he says this:

This is basically the Dipcifica equivalent of "I once considered him the center of my life, the sun in my galaxy", only with less toxic old men yaoi and more wholesomeness

it shows how Dipper's attitude is more mature

it implies he can and will develop romantic feelings for her. I mean, look at it: "I've noticed another side of you", "I see the real one and you're more than a pretty face"... gosh, if Pacifica hadn't fallen in love before, she definitely did after that.

it also shows Dipper's growth regarding women: my boy went from making huge, complex plans to talk to them, to lying to get random girls, to saying the truth in such a smooth way. He's great with girls when he doesn't try, he makes me so proud <3

4) Now I know what you think: great points, Bea, but does this couple have Mabel's approval stamp? Billford got it with Mabel calling Bill a clingy ex and telling him to get a crush on someone else's Grunkle. Does Dipcifica have Mabel's approval?

The answer is yes:

Do I have to say anything else? I think Mabel already said anything. Dipper and Pacifica are. A. Thing.

And yes, I know what you might say: they are kids! Sure they are, but that doesn't mean there can't be anything in the future. There is time for them to grow and for these feelings to develop. What we saw in the series and in Lost Legends are the crumbs, the foundation of something bigger that can evolve in the future.

And this is a great foundation because it's plausible and stable. Dipper and Pacifica's interactions never sound forced or out of character: on the contrary, they are built in a way that conciliates both personalities and justifies their changes and evolution.

If we can easily imagine a future for them, it's because their change is organic, it works in the long run - Pacifica can easily become better and better, while she works out her issue and shows the beautiful person she is. And Dipper can easily become more and more aware of what a great girl she is and start to develop deeper feelings for her. It's not impossible to imagine. It works.

And yes, this proves again how well Hirsch developed Gravity Falls and its characters, if we can easily imagine a future for them just out of a few, well-built interactions.

What upsets me is people reducing ted into toxic yaoi twink when a huge part of his character is his attraction to Ellen as well as dehumanising her/putting her on a pedestal, how he suddenly plays hero for her despite his history of sucking up to racist rich people etc. They have way too cool of an ACTUAL TOXIC dynamic to explore for ted to be reduced into .. tedam abuser x victim fetish content. nobody talks about how ellens ( mostly of self inflicted, mostly due to a fear of being incapable ) loneliness and lack of real support in her past life mixing with teds absolute NEED to be needed and obsession with being desirable is like the ultimate reason why they would never work out outside of AMs influence ( alongside ted being a bigot, obviously. )

and teds dehumanization of ellen , as well as his obsession with being her savior ( despite being THE ABUSER ) is ESPECIALLY present in his psychodrama. ( and basically explicitly stated to us in the manual i.e. "Then I remember Ellen screaming in her coffin-cage. I call out to her again, offering encouragement. I don't want her shaken up too badly by her present ordeal. I can still use her." ) its baffling to me that nobody else realized how blatantly and morbidly fetishizistic ( thats not a word but just go for it ) teds view of ellen is there. viewing ellen as some defenseless and helpless damsel who is bed-stricken and begging for him to help her. when. she was FORCED into that position by years of abuse and a weird reversal of her own trauma responses BY HIM and the other men is. Just. Gestures to that.

ALSO. something thats also interesting to me is that ted never mentions ellen success in her career or her financial/corporate status. once.

Aurora (A Glittering Aurora) is a very emotionally detached person, he's never truly formed any real connections and because of that she's completely adverse to commitment and will instead act as a mirror, reflecting a persons responses back at them to rile them up-- This is especially evident with DAM (Defying Amicable Management) who, as his name suggests, has an immense dislike for his (and all) Ancients.

Dam essentially has the iterator equivalent of 'Anger issues so intense you melt your insides as a result' which happens because he lacks the ability to control his emotions. Once they begin to climb, they're not coming down. It is very easy for Aurora to thus get a rise out of him. Prodding him, getting him upset and listening to him rant.

She often agrees with him to drive him on. But Dam isn't completely daft, he is a logical thinker and after awhile he notices Aurora's responses mirror his own. He doesn't understand Why he would be hiding his own thoughts and feelings on the matter. They've been speaking for so long and Dam is endlessly curious about Aurora. He's taken a liking to her, and wants to know what she's about.

But Aurora himself is so detached from everything that he himself has no idea who he is. If you asked her to tell you, she would sputter up the response that seems most suitable to you. Him and Dam are complete opposites, Dam is very stable in his self and his identity ; he is honest- blatantly so, and he believes in what he says, even in his anger. Aurora, meanwhile, is so used to molding herself to others image- he will make himself whatever he needs to be to drive a conversation, to create a show! that... she doesn't really even know herself.

Shipping them is essentially a slow burn of them both falling for each other early on and just... Staying together. Aurora is terrified of commitment- he's never stayed in one place before, but Dam is endlessly infatuated with her, he Adores her in a way he hasn't anyone else. And Aurora too, loves him. Dam has never been loved, and she has never loved.

They both have a ton of baggage and a part of them falling for each other is learning to cope with that baggage and understand each other and themselves more. Aurora hugs Dam, desperately begging for him to tell her who she is -- and Dam comes to Aurora, distraught and upset- on the verge of collapse as he is his only comfort in the mess of his emotions. They're learning how to love for the first time, and they mean a lot to me.
