I want to wish you all a happy Autism Acceptance Day. I have just learned that this observance has been made official, so on this particular Autism Acceptance Day we have much to celebrate.

We autistics need to fight against ableism. Down with Autism Speaks. Down with the Judge Rotenberg Center. Down with Andrew Wakefield. Down with every government that excludes autistics from immigration. Down with companies such as Toys R Us, Panera Bread, and Home Depot, and down with Donald Trump as well, for supporting Autism Speaks. Down with all of the bigots.

For legal reasons I want to clarify that this is not a call to violence.

in regards to the minecraft movie. /to me/ it just feels like it’s marketing towards jack black fans and nothing more to pay tribute to what it’s representing. it feels treated as a joke, which underutilizes the actual comedic potential it could have. beyond just the game there is so much extensive context to minecraft, so much potential to make interesting decisions attributing to literally /anything/ iconic surrounding it. look, i’ll still go easy on it for now considering we don’t know much of it. but it’s admittedly looking kinda lame at worst right now

I love when I see that Mat Pat's gone mask off and is talking directly to the community.

Like, I get there's been some minor scandals in the past, mostly with using people's art without permission or credit or his theories being a bit absurd (mario is a sociopath/sans is ness/wario is 10 ft tall lol) but the dude gets so much hate.

So getting to see him be the one to call out the FNAF fandom for being shitty to bigger name theorists is just nice.

i love the 'donate not debate' thing people are doing but PLEASE DO NOT DONATE TO PETA. do not give them money. they do not help animals, they do not protect animals, they do not save animals, they kill animals. they talk about saving animals but then euthanize most of the animals they take in, apparently preferring to focus on language policing (because making sure people don't say 'pet' is more important than actually saving animals, apparently.) they also use misogynistic and antisemitic comparisons in their rhetoric. peta is not a good organization and people who actually care about animals (to say nothing of radfems, who should be highly against peta for its insanely misogynistic campaigns alone) should not donate to it.

some of us simply have "safe foods" we can turn to when feeling especially bad, overstimulated, or overwhelmed. some of us have permanent food restrictions; food we can never eat, or a small group of food we can only eat.

so can you imagine what it must be like trying to feed yourself in a warzone? during a genocide? where something as simple as a bag of sugar is going for as much as sixty dollars? what would you do without access to your white bread, or plain noodles, or frozen chicken?

that's the reality for ahmed. a young autistic man living in gaza who's health complications are growing as the constant stress and terror of living in an active war zone are causing him to lose his ability to speak, sleep peacefully, or eat. medical costs are high, and so are the costs of basic necessities - like food, water, and electricity.

i shared ahmed's campaign a few days ago and we managed to get over 1000 euros for him! but the donations have stagnated over the last day, and ahmed still needs food and medical care.

Oh no it's so much more than that.Constant spreading of pseudoscience and misinformation, ableist campaigns (such as "drinking milk causes autism", racist and antisemitic campaigns (comparing pig farming to the Holocaust for instance), sexist campaigns under the guise of feminism (veganism is feminist because cows have a womb they are women too) more misinformation and pseudoscience, financial scams, at least one instance of abducting someone's beloved and cared for pet to euthanize it, harassment, using emotional manipulation on children ("your mommy is a murderer because she eats meat" etc), harassing and breaking into zoos and research labs , frequently killing the wild animals they rescue, that one bullshit monkey photograph lawsuit, being against ALL animal agriculture and hunting EVERYWHERE, being opposed to pets (yes cats and dogs too), actually paying people to abuse farm animals for staged videos, cultish behavior,absolutely insane ideas, and oh, misinformation and pseudoscience.

As to kill shelters, it's the lies and the hypocrisy that bothers me, because these are the same fucking people who will insist they're doing good by keeping animals alive when they have no quality of life to speak of anymore. One moment they're gushing over some poor piglet born without trotters or blind legless bird being kept alive and miserable for months, the next they're all pro euthanizing healthy animals en masse, all while they collect donations for both.

I know a lot of people donate to them in good faith but don't. Even if you are vegan. They're not doing anything good with that money.
