And then there’s the whole donating to autism speaks thing which, yeah, I get autism speaks is a bad charity, but he didn’t know that. im not that sad about matpat quitting and i actualy wish game theory got dropped alltogether instead of switching owners.

many of his theories are ableist and hes known to have donated money to autism speaks. he didnt apologize for many of his ableist or transphobic theories or take down the videos for the ones he did

You know what people don’t talk about often enough? Playing catch up in life after spending your teens or early 20s suicidally depressed. There’s so many more layers than just being able to say “I don’t want to die anymore.”

The difficulty in academia or a career after spending years thinking you wouldn’t be alive long enough for any of it to matter.

The exhaustion that comes from self awareness and self soothing, with the constant voice in your head saying “don’t go backwards.”

How lonely it is to watch the people your age starting families when you’re just barely learning what stable relationships are, and the sudden societal pressure of being “up against a clock” for these kinds of things.

The judgement from others if you change your image or interests this late in the game just because you finally figured out who you really are under the demons.

Be kind to those who are developing and blooming after years of not planning on being here long. We are living a life we absolutely didn’t think we’d have, and it’s hard enough without society reminding us there’s expectations of our age.

here. this is an excerpt from the website for ‘next for autism’, a charity matpat participated in. this is the charity basically condoning parents of autistic kids who want to abuse their children and to literally let them die so they’re “not suffering” due to their condition. literal children.

even if he “probably didn’t have bad intentions”, him blindly choosing to donate to this because at the surface it seems like a good charity without doing any actual research into it is a bad fucking move. especially for someone who makes a career out of supposedly COMPILING EVIDENCE AND RESEARCHING THINGS. shit like this isn’t “just a human mistake” it is a bad fucking move. through and through.

us autistic people have been speaking out against these types of charities for as long as they’ve existed and people never listen because they want to give those associated with them the benefit of the doubt. this is a real problem. charities like this prevent actual autistic people from being heard out. charities like these paint autistic people as violent, wild monsters who are a burden to everyone around them, to their families. like we’re useless objects instead of people. like we are literally better off dead. even children. they paint us as people who are suffering every day and people who deserve to literally be put out of their misery or “cured”. and when we do try to call people out on this there’s always going to be people like you who try to downplay it. who say “oh yeah it couldnt be that bad! you’re just overreacting!” what the fuck dude.

i don’t fucking care what matpats been through. autistic people, especially those pressured by foundations like these, have always been through worse. comparing the struggles of one single youtube man who is rich as hell and could buy anything he wants with autistic people suffering under the misinfo and downright dismissal of torture these foundations embody let alone a near constant slew of ableism and hatred for a condition they were literally born with is like comparing a dust cloud to a mountain.
