You know... I'm not ready for the inevitable moment in LOVM where Vox Machina gets to witness Zephrah with their own eyes and see its beauty and tranquility, to witness for themselves the life that one of their own had as a child, just in time for Keyleth's coronation as the Voice of the Tempest.

I'm also not ready for the possibility that she will undergo yet another transformation much like when she "passed through fire". I wonder if the mantle will be formed instead of placed upon her, or if her circlet will become slightly longer.

I'm also not ready for the possibility that she's going to have that look along with her haircut because THAT moment where Vax cuts it is too iconic to leave out. Come on, folks, you gotta give that to us at least. If not this season, then the next one.

May I introduce you to a beautiful concept known as sleep deprivation ? Man's only gotten poor quality sleep (if any at all) for weeks for all we know. Mood swings and paranoia are bound to go hand in hand with that one. Logical thinking ? Nope. Not happening. You add the fucking hallucinations further messing up his mind to the mix and you get exactly what we see.

#like I know the writing is bad #I am not a fan of the harrenhall arc #but you cannot complain about a character not using his braincells while actively also not using your braincells #kinda contradicting if you ask me #n e ways #talking from experience here btw #throwback to that one week of suffering from tension headaches so bad I thought my skull was going to explode #painkillers did nothing #sleeping was impossible for four (4!!!!!!) entire days #after that I managed to pass out for an hour or two every once in a while as the headaches ever so slowly started getting better #my brain was fucking mush on day 3 #there was no being reasonable and thinking logically anymore #I had the worst mood swings #like constant mood swings #I was about ready to kill the next person who as much as made a sound #I snapped at everyone who checked up on me #worst fucking week of my life #do not recommend #anyways #you can hate the character #you can criticize the direction the writers have taken for him this season #but maybe stop being hypocritical little shits about it :)#whatever. i don't like j0pper either but when people say joyce should've stayed with bob they always lose me because i have a hard time believing she even liked the man

You like downtown abbey! I almost did not watch this show because frankly a bunch of rich people from early 1900s England did not interest much but the writing is so good and the characters so intereting that I was rooting for them by episode 2. Anyway. What prompted me to write this ask is: do you have any recs for shows/movie/book with great characters? The specifc genre doesn't matter much. I'm curious to know what media have your favorite characters (besides HP of course)

I do like the Edwardian rich people show! The bastards got me again. It's such an interesting period — I think that the early seasons are the best because you can see the writers are still trying to *say something* about Edwardian Britain, especially the decline of the class system in England during and after World War I. The whole war plotline is really great, some of the show's best writing, and it hits series heights when it's doing the initial aftermath stuff (also not coincidentally the season where they develop Thomas's character beyond 'evil gay footman.')

My favorite characters are scattered all over the place — off the top of my head, Wuthering Heights, Sense & Sensibility, Jane Eyre, Middlemarch, Brideshead Revisited, anything by P.G. Wodehouse; more recently, White Teeth, The Goldfinch, Atonement (book and movie), My Brilliant Friend, and Wolf Hall (books first, but also the TV show). In terms of straight movies, Chimaera was the most recent one that moved me deeply; also When Harry Met Sally, the Before trilogy, The Social Network, Inception, the Daniel Craig bond saga but ONLY Casino Royale and Skyfall and the 35 minutes of Quantum of Solace I actually like; The Royal Tenenbaums and The Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Grand Budapest Hotel, and basically anything Wes Anderson before he got too in his own head about shit; Downton Abbey for fun, The Sopranos for different fun, Mad Men for the most fun of all, and Better Call Saul but only in small doses, because otherwise I'll get brain worms and start crawling on the ceiling about stuff. So, uh. That's a start.

#thomas was the crown jewel of that show i'll say it now #he had the arc that mary deserved! i'll say it. and he deserved it but so did SHE #because he gets humbled but then they let him build his pride back up and they reward him #for trying to do better. and he doesn't just slide into everyone's good graces #and he fucks up a LOT #but he is trying and they do see that and reward him. and by the end of the series [spoilers]#[SERIOUS SPOILERS] he's finally reached a position where he feels he has respect and trust from the family #and then the movies give him this beautiful arc of discovering underground queer circles in early 20thc britain #and it almost feels like an apology from the writers for how they did early season thomas #like. yeah we fucked up and wrote a scheming secretive gay villain stereotype. how about we use the narrative to empathize with him #and have a full arc about him finding queer companionship and joy and knowledge he is not alone? would that uh. be better?#and reader. IT WAS!!#unfortunately we needed 3 seasons of bad tv that flattened mary and tom's characters to paper first.#BUT BABY THAT'S A PRICE I'M WILLING TO PAY

readers were upset about the prime x-ray spoiling show-onlys by naming rand's mom tigraine in s1, but counterpoint: the show actually should explain rand's full heritage as quickly as possible because i cannot have show-onlys refusing to get invested in randlayne because they think a secret-sibling shoe is going to drop

#i've watched 3 show-only trailer reactions and 2 of them thought elayne might be a secret relative of rand's 😭😭#the show needs to clarify that asap!!#maybe in s3 the aiel & moiraine combined will be able to give rand tigraine's full identity #and rand sidles up to moiraine later like 'hey sooooo am i related to that girl elayne from falme?'#and she says no and he's like 'PHEW! not sure why i care tho ahaha'#and then we are in the clear for s4 to be the season of randlayne #rand al'thor #elayne trakand #randlayne #wot #wot book spoilers #you know now that i think about it i do think it would be better to give the full Rand Bio Family deets in one go #rather than parceling it out over multiple seasons #bc it just doesn't MATTER that his mom is tigraine mantear (besides that it makes him galad's brother)#so no point holding it back as a separate reveal. just give it to him (& us) along with the shaiel & janduin story #and it'd be perfectly logical for moiraine to be able to piece together that shaiel is tigraine if she heard the tale #plus rand learning sooner that galad is his brother would give more time for something to come of that relationship. maybe.
