So the other day I saw someone say they were disappointed with the writing in travnat because they saw how future Nat was so afected by Travis death that they had high expectations that past travnat was gonna be cute and wholesome and lovely. And then when it showed past travnat they had very few cute moments and that confused them about why was Travis so important to Natalie.

Like did you really think that a relationship between 2 teens that watched their fathers die (and both somehow were connected to their deaths), fell in the middle of the woods, had to survive in it for a year and a half, starved, had to eat their friends to survive, both almost got killed by the other girls, she had to let his brother die so she wouldn't die, he had to deal with the fact that his brother is dead because he chose to save her, and hunt together to feed the group in freezing temperatures while looking for his brother for months was gonna be cute?

Did you really think a relationship so emotionaly charged and codependent that leaves her so affected by everything regarding him decades later was suposed to be romantic and wholesome?

We were promised angst, depth, codependency and toxic love (cause how would it not be toxic given the sircunstances) and that's what it was delivered.

This is mainly about salvis (sal x travis) fanfiction btw and it kinda goes along with a post I made talking about how the fandom treats Travis and I am gonna make a post about the mischaracterization of sal soon as well (I know I am spelling so many words wrong lmao) BEGINNING OF RANT: Why do so many fanfic writers make travis some uwu shy boy?!?!?! I feel like Travis wouldnt be "Shy" when he is trying to be nice I feel like he would just sound agressive when he speaks if that makes sense. Idk why everyone just got the idea that Travis (after the bathroom scene in episode three) would just become shy or quiet. Like he was loud and not shy when he was bullying sal but all of a sudden he become shy and anxious?!?! that makes no sense to me. Also I am not trying to say that you cant write travis like this because in reality he was only in the game for like a few minutes but idk its just something that bugs me for some reason. I dont really care if you see travis like this btw live your truth king (or queen or wtv idrk) I am just saying in most salvis fics I have read travis is always just so....not travis lol. Btw I am not trying to shit on any persons writing because I do see a lot of this mischaracerization (idk if I can even call it that tbh but I cant really think of any other word for it) in peoples writing and I dont wan it to look like I am shitting on their work.
