it's interesting that episode 3 shows turbo granny is kind of a hypocrite? she says she hates cheaters, but immediately cheats (by human standards) in the game of tag. it's speculated that she consoled the spirits of assaulted and murdered girls, but she herself assaults okarun and calls seiko and momo "hag," "bitch," and "skank" constantly. i think it's really indicative(?) that one of the last things she says before she fuses with the bound spirit is this:

but ultimately, momo is able to outsmart her using a combination of her grandmother's - also an elder - wisdom and modern technology.

still working on how to interpret this and fit it into what dandadan is saying. the easiest/most obvious would be something like 'you don't have to respect your elders if they disrespect you,' which is a sentiment that is applicable to future arcs as well i feel, but i do think there's more to it than that.

Around ten years into their secret relationship with each other, Finn had come to the conclusion that Leland was his one and only. With this thought in his mind, he entered a prominent jewellers in London and purchased a ring he thought Leland would love, thinking that, if the day came when his love for another wasnt considered taboo, he would be able to marry him.

That day came too late.

After Lelands passing, Finn was contacted by the internal affairs department of CHROME. They had something for him, apparently. They told him Leland, about twenty eight years prior, had handed them a package with instructions that if he were to ever die before Finn, the IA department were to hand the package over to him.

Inside sat a stunning hammered silver wedding band, accompanied with a note that simply read:

"Evidently I didnt get the chance to ask this. But Finn - Will you marry me?"

Fin hasnt taken it off since and he wears the ring he bought Leland on a chain around his neck.

Ethlyn's eyes narrow angrily when she notices Andrei standing directly in the way of where she was trying to go. Not only does he have the nerve to show up here (why he even wanted to, she cannot begin to fathom), but he is blocking the path she needs to travel to get to the kitchens to check on the food. But oh. Oh gods. Her eyes widen as the scene before her grows even more horrifying. Just over his head hands a sprig of mistletoe.

"What in Baldr's name do you think you're doing!?" Ethlyn hollers as she shoves him out of the doorway as hard as she can. "Do you not have any sense at all in that head of yours? You can't just stand around doorways at a party like this! Do you not realize what could have happened!?"

Thoroughly bewildering reunion with Sigurd aside, the rest of the party has been... passable. There are more familiar faces than he expected, not all of them unfriendly, and Andrei manages to avoid any trouble for the time being. Until, of course...

Lips curl in distaste at the sight of Ethlyn stomping towards him, graceless as usual. He'd deigned to give her the courtesy of not approaching with any cutting comments for the quality of her hosting, but clearly such decorum is more than what he could expect of her.

The shove itself is not much of a surprise — violence is hardly unexpected of Ethlyn — but the force is larger than he anticipates, and Andrei staggers back a few steps, affronted. "Where else am I meant to stand, when the entire hall is filled with your frivolous clutter and half-finished decorations—" He finally follows her gaze upwards. Oh. He rolls his eyes. Scoffs, for good measure.

"Your house is the one with the inane tradition," he retorts, "That you would go so far as to shove a guest over it shows how much sense you have in that head of yours. Even your buffoon of an older brother makes for a better host." Well, all he'd done was hug Andrei way too tightly for someone who had been his enemy on the battlefield.

"Cave johnson here, wanted to start off this month with a message for all of our hard working aperture science. We dont have it in the budget to do what i wanted, Turbo Pride Day, were we stuff a full month of gay related festivities into one day so we can get it over with... apparently we ran through most of the holiday celebration budget attempting to learn how to turn human skin into a rainbow pigment. which i guess means were stuck with just the full month of non-body altering acceptance which is great but just know my thing was going to be better. of course aperture science will officiate any wedding that you may have if the government decides not to do so, but please know I will be putting my name on the certificate as well. turns out the state were in has this little loop hole left by the mormons where if you have enough married partners you automatically become governor and no ones taken it out of the books yet. I dont actully want to be governor but the guy in office now is a real prick. just to reiterate, marriage on paper, no need to change how we do buisness... well you know what, eat a mint, come in and we'll do a bit of arm wrestling and see where it goes from there. seems against the spirit all things considered. oh one last thing, any of you know what an otter is? carolyn told me that's what i was, and apparently i can upgrade to a bear? how do i do that? ah well, ill get some egg heads down in the lab to figure it out. Last year I made a (very random) post about QL actors celebrating Bangkok Pride so this year I decided camp the socials again to find familiar faces because it was a lot of fun to do and it made me incredibly happy. 🌈

There's a lot of different parades and events today with more to come in the following weeks. Some actors might have to work today or won't post pictures until later. They might be attending in a different city or voice their support in other ways. Please remember that celebrating Pride is fun and not an obligation.
