FROSTDAWN'S LITTERMATES?? they have done LITERALLY nothing besides be the obligatory siblings. UGH

I think it would be neat if Graysky (Graysong in my AU) would've been the one to kill Splashtail. I'm planning to give him and Mistpaw more relevance from the get-go so it wouldn't be out of nowhere. What would that relevance be? idk, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it But ANYWAY, in the AU, Graysong is a bit more muscular. I want Clans to have different leadership styles. Like, the leader and deputy thing still stays, but how they approach those are different. RiverClan might have an "enforcer" outside of the leader and deputy. kind of like an officer, yk? Enforcing the rules that are already set, but they don't have a special status like the deputy. enforcers could be any role (most commonly a warrior, but a medcat or queen enforcer wouldn't be too uncommon) and they have the leader's favor.

SO, since Curlfeather was aiming to be leader, grooming Splashtail to be her deputy (also Frostdawn's arc could also include ending the cycle of abuse holy shit?!?), Graysong might have been an enforcer because he inherited Jayclaw's more muscular build. Muscular but lean, if that makes sense. He could tackle you and make it hurt, but you could also body slam him. Curlfeather is APPARENTLY overprotective of Frostdawn and her littermates (said in River) since Jayclaw died before they were born, but we don't really see that outside of Curlfeather controlling and grooming Frostpaw

So I think this kind of controlling blanket enclosed all of the siblings. I'll get to Mistpaw, but for Graysong, it kind of made him pull away from social interaction and rely more on himself. This is also how he learned to show affection. He was a very diligent kit and apprentice, and he always wanted to battle train, but he wasn't bloodthirsty, he was protective (and maybe a bit controlling as well, depending on where I take his character hehe). so when he saw his sister who had been missing from the Clans without a word for quite some time, about to be murdered by a dictator, something in him just snapped. And yeah, he's younger than Splashface (Splashtail) as well, but unlike Frostdawn, he's been training as a warrior/enforcer for his entire life, PUSHING for battle training, and he would've taken Splashface off-guard, so him killing Splashface is plausible to me.

When Splashface becomes leader, Fognose is his deputy. She advocates for Graypaw being the enforcer, despite Graypaw being Curlfeather's kit (who Splashface hates) and an apprentice. To compensate, Scalestream (canon name is Gorseclaw, this name might change) is the enforcer, and Graypaw's mentor switches from Breezeheart to Scalestream.

Scalestream is who he graduates under. Splashface names him Crookedslime. Crooked- reflecting Splashface's distrust and hatred for all of Curlfeather's kits, and -slime reflecting Splashface's perception of Graypaw; someone who sticks to authority no matter what. So, Crookedslime as a whole name means "suspicious cat who conforms to authority cats."

When all is said and done, when he's reflecting later, he hates how Splashface was kind of right.

When Icewater (Icewing lmfao) becomes leader, Crookedslime's name is changed to Graysong. Gray- because it is his birth name and he is a stoic cat, and -song because he makes the right choices in the end. He served under Splashface without complaint, but ultimately killed him when Frostdawn was about to be murdered.

So, his name as a whole means "dutiful cat who can make the wrong choices but rights them."

Under Icestar, Graysong is the enforcer. He's also the guard for Fognose when she is imprisoned instead of exiled. It tastes bitter for a reason he cannot name, but he doesn't say anything. It'll go away eventually. ... And speaking of names, Mistpaw.

I imagine her as an avoidant character. She wants to fade into the background. She doesn't want to deal with drama.

She and Graysky have practically the same personality in the books because they're so minor.

In my AU, she's soft and a sweetheart, and in a hypothetical where Mistpaw was the one exiled instead, she would've stayed with the Park Cats because it's such a nice calm change of pace.

Mistpaw isn't afraid of change until it hurts her.

She doesn't like to face reality. it's kinda canon in the books as well since canon Mistpaw said this:

"It's true that I'm pleased for you. But I'm confused, too. Our mother seemed so sure that you were meant to be a medicine cat. She went on and on about your dreams...It all seemed so certain. […] That's what's worrying me. Because it was you, Frostpaw, who said StarClan told you Curlfeather was to be our new leader. But if you were never really a medicine cat, if the visions weren't real, then does that mean our mother wasn't destined to be our leader after all? Because if she wasn't, then she didn't have to die." - Shadow pg 92

Anyway, when Frostpaw was traumatized from Curlfeather's death in River, I imagine AU-Mistpaw wouldn't have said anything when she was being pressured to go to the Moonpool (even though Frostpaw witnessed Curlfeather get torn to shreds by dogs there LMFAO RiverClan is full of assholes), but like, at night she would've snuck into Frostpaw's nest and groomed her and such and tell her things like "You don't have to go, Graypaw and I won't make you go, Graypaw will stand up to the Clan, etc." to comfort her sister.

Mistpaw would've also been traumatized by the fact that Graysong killed Splashface and would've been horrified when Frostdawn half-dies. She refuses to leave her sister's side throughout it all, grooming her pelt and bringing her food (though she knows she won't eat it bc haha coma), and Mistpaw even tries out different herbs to make her wake up.

She doesn't find them particularly interesting or thrilling, but something about them is just worth the time. I imagine RiverClan's med-dens are kinda like land coves? Accessible, but isolated. Medicine cats most likely sleep there for protection of both themselves and herbs if a raid were to happen.

So the quietness of the den and taking care of her sister convinces Mistpaw to do two major things.

1: When Frostpaw comes back to life and is granted her name of Frostdawn by Mothwing, the -dawn part inspires Mistpaw. Canonically, Frostdawn was given the -dawn suffix to celebrate change, leading RiverClan into a bright dawn, yada yada. I'm keeping it in my AU, so when Graysong and Mistpool are granted their names by the newly appointed Icestar, Mistpool rejects her name. She doesn't want to be tied to Curlfeather after being in denial for so long, she doesn't want to think about how she didn't stick up for her sister at any point and Frostdawn STILL loves her. She doesn't want to think about the events of ASC at all.

This causes an argument with Graysong because he values identity, but Icestar grants Mistpool a new name of Fishleap, to symbolize the skittish but graceful nature of fish, which can translate into a cat's personality. Icestar was Fishleap's mentor, and she understands. "Icewater," is actually a humiliation name from her time in the dark forest that she chose to keep.

Fishleap rejecting and changing her name... it isn't healing. It's avoidance, but it's a start. Fishleap couldn't tell you if she regrets changing her name or not. Would she go back to Mistpool? Would she compromise with Mistleap or Fishpool? Who knows? She doesn't.

2: When Frostdawn goes back to being a medcat, Fishleap follows. Unlike Frostdawn, Fishleap was never a med-cat. She never even thought of training as one until after the events of AU-ASC. But as I alluded to earlier, something about the profession just draws her in. Being a warrior is stressful. Her mentor was Icewater, and Icewater (and Curlfeather, but she doesn't want to think about that shh) often had to coax Mistpaw out of the apprentice's den to train.

It was always one excuse after another; she's tired, she hurt her ankle, she isn't feeling well, blah blah blah.

But with being a med-cat, there are no excuses. Fishleap doesn't need to make an excuse. She doesn't have a connection to StarClan, but Mothwing doesn't even like StarClan, and Frostdawn doesn't have one either.

(I'm ignoring the fact that her connection to StarClan got retconned in halfway through the arc DESPITE IT BEING SAID FROSTPAW DOESN'T HAVE A CONNECTION?!) Fishleap can just treat cats and gather herbs. So simple.

Her switching from a warrior to med-cat also starts an argument with Graysong, and it kind of leads to a falling out, but as I said earlier, avoidance isn't healing, so I imagine Frostdawn, after everything she went through and the lessons she learned, would want to gentle push her sister in the path of healing, like she is.

Fishleap's name under Splashface was Shredshell, and its meaning is very simple. "Cat whose borders are broken down."

• I’m a big believer in ponyboy continuing to dye his hair blonde after windrixville for sentimentality (also I fuck with the character design aspect)

• so his hairs died blond but it’s also grown out, its the late 1960s and greased hair is becoming even less of a thing than it was before, so his hair is choppily cut above his shoulders and it has the worst grown at roots

• he is the KING of hand me downs, more so than in the outsiders because he fits into more of the clothes that darry and soda actually saved, soda’s flannels, pants, shirts, Darry’s old jackets, he owns his shoes and that it

• okay this one goes more into the au where sodapop is drafted and killed in the Vietnam war because it technically lines up with the twttin timeline. But ponyboy would wear soda’s dog tags literally every day

• more reckless than he was in the outsiders, partially because he’s grown up and partially because of his friends and the people he surrounds himself with

• his friendgroup basically consist of the remainder of the gang, curly and Angela, mark, scout, and two bits sister Brenda I guess

• on the topic of Brenda, ponyboy basically reacreats his and Johnnys relationship with dally with her, they’re so siblings you don’t understand, the brother and sister ever

• very unpopular in school, not in a way of getting bullied but in the way of a lot of kids in his grade being scared of him

• the beef Bryon has him is entirely one sided to the point that Ponyboy doesn’t even realize it exists

• despite not having the best reputation he’s finally grown into his looks and if it weren’t for the events of the first book he would be pulling

• Him and Cathy start dating a little bit after twttin, Cathy had been at boarding school during the entirety of the first book so she didn’t have the same stigma against him that the other kids at school

• he actually gets pretty into the Beatles after he starts dating Cathy because they’re her favorite band, he likes the please please me album

• he also adopts M&M into his little gang with Brenda (pushing my M&M and Brenda as best friends agenda)

• in the end all that really means is that he helps M&M with kids picking on him (his reputation from the whole bob incident makes him pretty intimidating), M&M and Brenda also get to tag along on some of Pony and Cathy’s dates to the movies

• honestly I could talk about him and Cathy for hours but as the youngest him dating her and realizing how much she has to do as the oldest makes him gain more of understanding for darry

• also him and Cathy’s song is definitely Do you want to know a secret

As previously mentioned, he's very subservient and overprotective and literally thinks he was placed on this planet to serve and protect you. He really does wholeheartedly believe that you're the purest life form there is and understands that you're capable and clever, but he's so desperate to be of use to you. Is actually restless if he's not doing things for you.

He somehow manages to balance between seeing you as this precious devine entity in need of constant servitude and also respecting the shit out of you??? He's pretty fucking weird icl 😭😭

I have this wip of an idea that the whole meeting happened when you left your flock and wandered into the forest as it's something you do quiet often (not very approved of by your peers, but i want lamb!reader to be a powerful independent presence) and he catches a glimpse of you and is immediately intrigued lol, his infatuation only grows when he approaches you and you completely shut down his attempts for a conversation, you came here to be alone remember? You stay on his mind long after you return back home and he is left to wonder when you'll be back.

I feel like you wouldn't pay any mind to him at first. He'll have to work for your attention, lmaoo, but when you do, eventually get together (it starts with you visiting him in the forest more often and even staying at his own place) or even just reciprocate a fraction of his feelings, he goes apeshit and probably oversteps 😭😭 like an overprotective mother he starts INSISTING you stay at his house so he could take care of you better and sleep well, catches bunnies for you and crashes out when you refuse to let him hand feed you what he cooked, will be placing both of ur food portions in the same plate<- this is a fixation of his, coaxes you to sleep in his arms, the whole overbearing husband experience, he's very clingy and doting tbh, he really wants to tend to you. Also he's obsessed with your ears.

You could try to ghost him, but he would definitely just destroy your reputation to have you return to him, starts to show up on front of your home like a crazy ex and gives everyone else a heart attack, eventually the other lambs associate you two together and choose to "sacrifice you" to the vicious beast in the forest. That way, in hopes of getting rid of him once and for all. This way you have nowhere else to go. You'll have to let him tend to you properly.

He will whimper and pout like a puppy when you freak out on him about it, bcuz really he doesn't wnat to upset you ever, but he sees this as necessary evil or some form of tough love? but really, what can you do? At the end of the day, he's the only person who doesn't think you're a bad Oman.

SURPRISE PIXEL ART TIME!!

I felt like making these little sprite edits of the Scott Pilgrim video game characters! Featuring the playable characters on top as well as Knives and some NPCs on the bottom.

I took some clothing inspiration from the anime while Ramona's is from a well-known Bryan Lee O'Malley drawing of her. Changing the colors on them was the fun part :) Also, colored-in mouths! Ain't that something!

The reason I made these sprite edits is that during the weekend, I went on a nostalgic trip to look at some sprite comics I liked during my teenage years...(around 2016) they were mostly Kirby comics, LOL. I usually read them on ComicFury now since Smackjeeves died out a few years ago...it was my only source of sprite-comic reading back then :(

Somehow, all of it gave me the urge to make one on my own...Well this is what I have for now, just a little overview of what the Scotty P. video game characters will look like in my own version of them. Hope you like!
